Where does the data come from?+
Every decode, recall and safety rating comes straight from public US government sources — NHTSA's vPIC and recalls databases and the EPA. It's the same data the manufacturers report, surfaced cleanly.
Do you sell accident or title history?+
No. Accident records, salvage / rebuilt titles and odometer history aren't in public data — those come from our verified partner's full report, which we link to. ForCar focuses on decoding, recalls and research tools.
What does Incognito actually do?+
Free checks can appear in the public “Recent VIN checks” feed. On Pro and Dealer, your lookups are never published there — so nobody can see which vehicles you're sourcing. Your history stays private in your account.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. Plans are month-to-month and you can cancel from your account in one click. Yearly billing saves you two months and is refundable within the first 7 days.
Is the API enough to build on?+
The Dealer API returns decode, open recalls and complaint counts as clean JSON, 10,000 requests/day, authenticated by key or Bearer token. Plenty for inventory tools, listing sites and lot management.
