TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 CHEVROLET BLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC FOR AN UNRELATED ISSUE WHEN THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE BALL JOINTS WOULD NEED REPLACING. THE BALL JOINTS WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 55,000.

I WAS DRIVING HIGHWAY SPEED WHEN I HEARD A LOUD GRINDING NOISE IN FRONT END THEN A SEVERE PULL TO MY LEFT WHICH VEERED ME OFF THE ROAD , LUCKILY THERE WAS A GRASSY KNOLL TO MY LEFT AND NOT A GUARD RAIL. WHEN I EXITED I FOUND MY FRONT LEFT WHEEL OFF . THE SHOP SAID MY WHEEL FELL OFF DUE TO A BAD BEARING. I FOUND THIS ODD DUE TO MY REPLACING BOTH BEARINGS A YEAR BEFORE. APPARENTLY ITS A COMMON PROBLEM. VEH. HAS 147K AT THIS INCIDENT AND ONLY 126K WHEN REPLACED PARTS THE FIRST TIME. IN ADDITION HAD 4X4 ACTUATOR REPLACED, FUEL PUMP, OIL COOLER LINES REPLACED, AND PITMAN ARM...ALL APPARENTLY COMMON AND FREQUENT REPAIRS WITH THIS VEHICLE !! *TR

WHILE DRIVING (AT ABOUT 5 MPH) THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT FAILED. THE CAR DROPPED TO THAT SIDE, AND STEERING CONTROL WAS LOST. LUCKILY THIS HAPPENED AS I WAS SLOWING TO A STOP BEFORE ENTERING A HIGHWAY. IT APPEARED AS THOUGH THE WHEEL HAD BEEN SEPARATED FROM THE FRONT SUSPENSION. AFTER TOWING TO A MECHANIC, I FOUND THAT IT WAS THE LOWER BALL JOINT THAT HAD FAILED, AND THE BRAKE LINE HAD ALSO BEEN SEVERED. AS A RESULT THE SHOCKS ON THAT SIDE WERE BENT OUT OF SHAPE, AND THE SHOCKS ON THE OTHER SIDE WERE STRETCHED OUT (AS IT WAS PULLED BY THE WEIGHT OF THE DROPPED SIDE). HAD I BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY OR TRAVELING AT A HIGHER SPEED, I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WOULD HAVE OCCURRED WITH POSSIBLE INJURY OR DEATH. *NM

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH LOWER RIGHT FRONT BALL JOINT FAILED CAUSING WHEEL TO COLLAPSE. THERE WAS NO NOISE AT FAILURE, ONLY THE FEELING THAT A TIRE MIGHT HAVE GONE FLAT. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO INDEPENDENT REPAIR FACILITY WHERE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE REMAINING 3 BALL JOINTS WERE ALL "LOOSE" AND IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. ALL 4 BALL JOINTS WERE REPLACED. ON A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE ON MY 1999 CHEVY BLAZER, MY MECHANIC POINTED OUT THAT THE BRAKE LINES WERE CORRODED, AND HE WAS CONCERNED THAT I WOULD LOSE THE BRAKES WHILE DRIVING. AFTER HAVING DRIVEN THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS ON INTERSTATE ROADS (CONSTANTLY MONITORING THE COOLANT GAUGE - STANDARD FOR ANY TRIP I TAKE). I STOPPED TO GO TO THE REST ROOM AND WHEN I RETURNED AND STARTED THE VEHICLE IT MADE A HORRIBLE LOUD METAL BANGING NOISE. I MOVED THE VEHICLE TO THAT IF IT NEEDED TO BE TOWED IT WOULD BE READY. I CHECKED THE COOLANT GAUGE AND IT WAS AT THE VERY END OF THE HOT ZONE, CHECKED THE COOLANT AND FOUND ALMOST NO COOLANT IN THE RESERVOIR. I HAD TO PUT WATER IN TO GET IT HOME (ANOTHER 3 HOURS ON THE ROAD). AT NO TIME DURING THAT TRIP DID THE COOLANT GAUGE INDICATE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OVERHEATING. I HAVE CHANGED THE OIL PER THE RECOMMENDATION IN THE OWNERS MANUAL AND HAVE DONE MOST OF THE OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS AND HAVE HAD NO OTHER MAJOR ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. ON JULY 12TH I HAD THE MANIFOLD INTAKE GASKET REPLACED, OIL CHANGED AND TIRES ROTATED IN PREPARATION FOR THE TRIP.*JB

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 CHEVROLET BLAZER. WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL AT 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD WITHOUT WARNING. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE IMMEDIATELY AFTER LEAVING THE MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE MULTI-PORT FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HE REPLACED THE PART, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE VEHICLE MAY NEED TO HAVE ITS SPARK PLUGS REPLACED OR CLEANED. THE SPARK PLUGS HAVE NOT BEEN REPLACED. APPROXIMATELY THREE DAYS LATER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE MULTI-PORT FUEL INJECTION WAS DEFECTIVE AND REPLACED THE UNIT, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD AND BECAME INCREASINGLY WORSE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 150,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.

DURING MAINTENANCE, OWNER NOTICED COOLANT GETTING DIRTY. HAD IT FLUSHED FOUR TIMES. HEATER QUIT WORKING AFTER FIRST FLUSH. BROWNISH-GRAY SLUDGE WAS BLOCKING THE HEATER CORE. MECHANIC STATED IT WAS DUE TO A SMALL LEAK IN THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET CAUSING SMALL AMOUNTS OF DIRTY AIR AND OIL TO MIX WITH COOLANT. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE BLAZER BEGAN SHIFTING FROM 1ST GEAR TO 2ND GEAR VERY HARD. I EXPERIENCED LOSS OF POWER AND HAD TO SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. A DIAGNOSTICS TEST SHOWED A P1870 CODE. I HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM CHECKED BY A MECHANIC, WHO STATES THAT MY TORQUE CONVERTOR AND THE CLUTCHES WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED, AS WELL AS A SWITCH, TO THE COST OF $2000. AFTER READING NUMEROUS OTHER COMPLAINTS SIMILAR OR IDENTICAL IN NATURE, I WONDER IF PERHAPS IT IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT OR DESIGN PROBLEM? BOUGHT A BLAZER FROM LEE XARS IN FORT MYERS. WAS MAKING A LOUD NOISE SO I TOOK IT TO A AUTO REPAIR CLOSE TO MY HOUSE BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT ALL THE WAY BACK TO TOWN. WHEN I BOUGHT IT THEY OUT A RELAY SWITCH SO THE AC WOULD BLOW COLD. HERES WHATMY MECHANIC FOUND WHAT WAS WRONG.A/C COMPRESSOR CLUTCH WAS DEFECTIVE AND THE A/C CLUTCH CONTROLRP RELAYWAS BYPASSED IMPROPERLY AND NOT FUSED WHICH COULD HAVE STARTED A FIRE. WHEN I WENT UP TO GET MY TITLE AND TAGS THE GUY WHO RUNS THE REPAIR SHOP WANTED TO KNOW WHAT I WANTED HIM TO DO ABOUT IT. THE OWNER WASNT THERE SO I LEFT A COPY OF MY INVOICE. HE WAS SUPPOSE TO CALL ME BUT HASN'T. THEY NEED TO BE CHECKED OUT. THERE DEAL IS IF SOMETHING BRAKES ON THE CAR THEY CAN GET CHEAP PARTS AND THEY CHARGE CHEAP LABOR. BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM LEE AUTO IN FORT MYERS. WAS MAKING A LOUD NOISE. TOOK IT TO A CLOSE MECHANIC TO CHECK THE PROBLEM BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT BACK THERE TO GET CHECKED OUT. THIS IS WHAT MY MECHANIC SAID. A/C COMPRESSOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND THE A/C CLUTCH CONTROL RELAY WAS BYPASSED IMPROPERLY AND NOT FUSED WHICH COULD HAVE STARTED A FIRE IN THE ENGINE. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR THE SALESMAN TOLD ME HE WAS GOING TO PUT A RELAY SWITCH IN BECAUSE IT WAS T BLOWING COLD AIR. TOLD LEE CARS ABOUT IT AND HAVE T HEARD BACK. ITS NOT GOOD TO SELL UNSAFE CARS.

THE HEATER CORE IN MY 1999 CHEVROLET BLAZER HAS BEEN REPLACED FIVE TIMES. THE HEATER CORE PROBLEM CAUSES A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY RISK. WHEN FAILING, THE HEATER CORE CLOGS AND THEN EVENTUALLY BURSTS SPILLING BOILING HOT WATER INTO THE BLAZER. THE RADIATOR AND ALL OF ITS CONTENTS DRAIN INTO THE FRONT INTERIOR OF THE BLAZER. THE STEAMING HOT WATER PLACES ME AND MY FAMILY IN DANGER OF BEING SEVERELY BURNED. I HAVE BEEN VERY LUCKY TO DATE, IN THAT THE HEATER CORE HAS NOT BURST WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. SO FAR, I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND QUICKLY GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE BEFORE I AM BURNED. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN THE HEATER CORE BURSTS THE BLAZER FILLS WITH STEAM AND THE CHEMICALS CONTAINED WITHIN THE RADIATOR. THE STEAM AND CHEMICALS MAKE IT VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE AND IMPAIRS THE DRIVER''S ABILITY TO GET ALL PASSENGERS AND THE VEHICLE OUT OF HARMS WAY. I HAVE BEEN VERY LUCKY TO DATE IN THAT I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO QUICKLY GET THE BLAZER OFF OF THE ROAD. I WONDER EVERYDAY WHETHER THE HEATER CORE WILL BURST AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT THAT HARMS MY CHILDREN, MYSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 CHEVROLET BLAZER. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CONTACT WAS RUN OFF THE ROAD BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE STRUCK A CURB AND FLIPPED THREE TIMES. THE DRIVER WAS EJECTED THIRTY NINE FEET FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED BRAIN INJURY, LEFT ARM DAMAGE, AND WAS IN A COMA FOR THREE WEEKS. THE CHILD PASSENGER SUSTAINED A FRACTURED SHOULDER, RIBS, AND A LUNG INFECTION. I HAVE A 1999 CHEVROLET BLAZER. ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS OVERTHE PAST TWO YEARS, I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE REAR SEATBELTS DUE TO PROBLEMS WITH THE BELTS NOT RETRACTING. THE FAILURES OF THESE SEAT BELTS HAS CAUSED ME TO BE UNABLE TO SECURE A CAR SEAT IN THE REAR OF THE CAR. GENERAL MOTORS HAS CHARGED ME FOR THE REPAIRS TO THE SEAT BELTS. GIVEN THAT THREE OF THE SEAT BELT ASSEMBLIES REQUIRED REPLACEMENT IN THE PAST TWO YEARS, I FEEL THAT THERE IS A DESIGN OR OTHER DEFECT WITH THE BELTS THAT SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. FRONT PASSENGERS SEAT BELT IS FAULTY! I WAS IN A COLLISION AND REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER DRIVER. MY MOTHER WAS WITH ME AND IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TWO FRONT TIRE HUBS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. SEVERAL DAYS LATER, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK THE VEHICLE INTO A PARKING SPACE, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE SPONTANEOUSLY DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE ALMOST CAUSED A CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER AND THEY SPECULATED THAT THE HUBS WERE DEFECTIVE. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE HUBS. THE CONTACT HAS ALL OF THE DOCUMENTS PERTAINING TO THE REPAIRS MADE TO THE VEHICLE. SHE ALSO HAS POSSESSION OF THE FAILED COMPONENT. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 81,200.

THE REASON--THE RIMS WERE MANUFACTURED ALUMINUM WHICH COOL FASTER THAN STEEL BEHIND THE RIMS.IT PRODUCES A SUBSTANCE THAT MAKES IT STICKY, WHEN IT DRIES. DT*: THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE AND BURNED. AFTER TURNING ON THE HEATER, SMOKE POURED FROM THE INTERIOR VENTS AND VISIBLE FLAMES WERE BEHIND THE DASHBOARD. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE AND DETERMINED THE FIRE WAS ELECTRICAL IN NATURE. AFTER THE INITIAL PURCHASE, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALERSHIP SUSPECTED IT COULD HAVE BE THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING SIGNALING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE AIRBAG SENSOR INDICATING AIRBAG FAILURE. THE DEALERSHIP CLEARED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODE AND RECOMMENDED THE VEHICLE BE SEEN BY A TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOP. THERE WAS A MANUFACTURER'S RECALL IN AUGUST 20, 1999 FOR 2000 CHEVY BLAZERS: THE BRAKE PIPE UNION FITTINGS THAT FEED THE VARIOUS BRAKE SYSTEM COMPONENTS MAY LEAK AND CAUSE A LOSS OF BRAKING FUNCTION AND NEED AN ADDITIONAL STOPPING TIME. DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE BRAKE PIPE UNION FOR SIGNS OF LEAKING BRAKE FLUID AND REPLACE THE UNION IF NECESSARY. 1999 CHEVROLET BLAZER LT - MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH (COMMON PROBLEM!) IS MALFUNCTIONING. TURN SIGNAL/FLASHER RELAY IS CONSTANTLY CLICKING WHETHER SIGNALS ARE IN USE OR NOT -- UNLESS THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED. GOOD SIGN OF AN ELECTRICAL SHORT. THE CAUSE OF THIS ISSUE IS THE GREASE INSIDE THE SWITCH, APPLIED AT THE FACTORY, RUNNING FROM CONTACT TO CONTACT. THIS SWITCH INCLUDES THE WIPERS, CRUISE CONTROL, TURN SIGNALS, HAZARDS, AND CAN ALSO CAUSE VEHICLE LIGHTING (HEADLIGHTS, BRAKE LIGHTS) TO MALFUNCTION. MANY CASES INCLUDE NON-WORKING BRAKE LIGHTS! OTHERS HAVE REPORTED SMOKE COMING FROM THE SWITCH AS THE CONTACTS ARE SHORTED BY THE GREASE. I INHERITED THIS VEHICLE FROM MY GRANDFATHER, WHO COULDN'T HEAR THE RELAY FIRING -- IT IS THE ONLY INDICATOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE THAT SOMETHING MAY BE GOING WRONG. I HAD TO HAVE THE DRIVESHAFT IN MY 1999 CHEVY BLAZER REPLACED IN MARCH 2011. EXACTLY ONE WEEK LATER MY SON WAS DRIVING TO SCHOOL CAYUGA-ONONDAGA BOCES IN AURBAN WHEN THE DRIVE SHAFT FELL OUT CAUSING THE BLAZER ENTIRE REAR-END TO SEIZE UP THROWING THE VEHICLE ALMOST MAKING MY SON GO DOWN OVER THE BRIDGE. THE SCHOOL CAME AND TOWED HIM BACK AND LOOKED AT IT' THE BOLT THAT HOLDS THE DRIVESHAFT IN WAS NOT THERE, AS IF THEY FORGOT TO TIGHTEN IT OR FORGET TO PUT IT ON ALL TOGETHER. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE THAT THE BOLT WAS PULLED OFF OR BROKEN, YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE BY THE TREADS. I HAD THE TRAINED AUTO MECHANICS AT THE SCHOOL CALL OVER TO PULLEN'S AND THEY WERE RUDE, SAID THEY DID THEIR JOB AND THERE WAS NOTHING TO DO TO HELP US.. VERY RUDE' ALSO, THE DRIVESHAFT DIDN'T HAVE ANY GREASE FITTINGS SO IT WOULDN'T HAVE LASTED 6 MONTHS TOP. I HAVE A 1999 CHEVROLET MALIBU LS. THIS IS THE WORST CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED. SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH 60,000+ MILES ON IT AND IT WON'T BE PAID OFF UNTIL 2007 I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE A MANIFOLD GASKET, BATTERY, WATER PUMP, I HAVE HAD TO PUT A USED TRANSMISSION IN. YOU CAN NOT CHECK THE TRANSMISSION FLUID BECAUSE THERE IS NO DIP STICK YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT TO A PROFESSIONAL TO HAVE THAT DONE. THE AIR CONDITIONER COMES ON OFF WHENEVER, WHEN YOU PUT GAS IN THE CAR YOU HAVE TO GIVE IT GAS BEFORE IT WILL STAY RUNNING. I HAVE HAD BEARINGS REPLACED IN BOTH FRONT WHEELS, TIRES KEEP GOING BAD AS DO THE THE BRAKES. OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE VERY SAME COMPLAINTS ABOUT THESE CARS AND NOT ONE RECALL HAS BEEN MADE. THEY REPORT THERE IS A LEAK SOMEWHERE IN THE SYSTEM AND THAT IT IS LEAKING FREEON (SP?) "BUT THEY CANNOT FIND IT." MOST RECENTLY, THEY REPLACED THE COMPRESSOR, BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. THE AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER ON FRIDAY JUNE 25. AFTER THE REPAIR THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES THAT DAY. ON THE FOLLOWING DAY THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN AN ADDITIONAL 25 MILES AND RETURNED HOME. AFTER LEAVING THE VEHICLE PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY, I WAS SUMMONED FROM MY HOME BY A NEIGHBOR WHO REPORTED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. 1999 CHEVROLET BLAZER WITH A V6 ENGINE HAD A PREMATURE ENGINE FAILURE AT 87K MILES. A HAIR LINE CRACK WAS DISCOVERED IN A CYLINDER USING A DYE TEST. THE MACHINIST WHO INSPECTED THE ENGINE BELIEVES IT WAS CREATED AS THE RESULT OF THE CORROSIVE ACTION OF COOLANT USED BY GM. CHEVROLET SHOWED NO INTEREST IN INSPECTING THE ENGINE. WITHOUT THE AFOREMENTIONED, I INVESTIGATED MYSELF, AND CAN ONLY CONCLUDE THAT A HEAD BOLT WAS NOT PROPERLY SEALED DURING MANUFACTURING, ALLOWING COOLANT TO PENETRATE THE BOLT AREA AROUND THE REAR CYLINDER IN QUESTION. THIS CONDITION CREATED A WEAKENING OF THE CYLINDER WALL OVER TIME CAUSING THE CATASTROPHIC FAILURE. I'VE BEEN COMMUNICATING WITH CHEVROLET FOR OVER TWO YEARS WITH NO SUCCESS.

I AM SHOCKED TO FIND OUT THAT THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE ABS BRAKES AND THE FRONT END BALL JOINTS. I AM ACTUALLY AFRAID TO DRIVE MY BLAZER AFTER READING ABOUT THE PROBLEMS. I LIVE IN A SMALL TOWN IN THE MOUNTAINS AND HAVE TO DRIVE MOUNTAIN ROADS AND ALONG A RIVER TO GET TO A BIGGER CITY. I AVERAGE ABOUT ONCE A MONTH THIS TRIP AND IF I MY BLAZER WAS TO HAVE A WHEEL FALL OFF BECAUSE OF A BAD BALL JOINT SYSTEM I AND MAYBE OTHERS WOULD BE DEAD OR SERIOUSLY HURT. I HAVE OVER THE YEARS REPLACED MY BALL JOINTS SEVERAL TIMES AS THEY KEEP GOING BAD, MUCH MORE THAN JUST NORMAL WEAR IT APPEARS. I ALSO HAVE FOR THE LAST 6 MONTHS OR SO HAVE HAD THE ABS LIGHT COME ON AND THE ABS BRAKES COME INTO PLAY WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR COMING TO A STOP ON DRY ROADS. THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH IS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY ON MY VEHICLE. OUT OF THE BLUE I STARTED HEARING THE BLINKER INDICATOR NOISE WITHOUT ACTUALLY USING MY BLINKERS. DT: THE CONTACT COMPLAINED ABOUT MULTIPLE PROBLEMS. WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH ON A DAMP ROAD THE DRIVER'S SIDE WHEEL CAME OFF. HE WAS ABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE SAFELY TO THE CURB. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A MECHANIC, WHO REPLACED THE UPPER BALL JOINT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND REALIGNED THE WHEELS. LATER, HE HEARD A GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. DEALER STATED ON 9/26/200 THAT FUEL PUMP WAS FAULTY. REPLACED THIS...AUTO STILL DID NOT WORK. DEALER STATED MAYBE A FAULTY FUEL PUMP WAS SENT, ORDERED A 2ND, PUT THIS ONE IN. AGAIN, AUTO DID NOT RUN. AFTER THE 1ST ONE WAS INSTALLED, VEHICLE WAS RELEASED TO ME, 1.5 HOURS LATER, I WAS AGAIN STRANDED. DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS A CPI, SOMETHING WITHIN THE FUEL INJECTOR SYSTEM. THAT WAS REPLACED. IT WASN'T THE PROBLEM. THEY FINALLY STATED IT WAS 3 INJECTORS WITHIN THIS UNIT. THOSE WERE REPLACED AND MY VEHICLE RETURNED TO ME. AUTO WAS IN THE SHOP FROM 9/26/2000 UNTIL 10/10/2000. ON 10/12/2000, ON ROUTE 33 WESTBOUND, MY ACCERLERATOR STUCK, MY BRAKES DID NOT WORK, VEHICLE WAS DOING 95 MPH. I GAINED CONTROL OF VEHICLE AND GOT IT STOPPED. IT WAS TOWED FROM LOGAN, OHIO TO COLUMBUS WHERE I LEASED IT FROM. AS OF RIGHT NOW, IT'S DRIVEABLE, BUT NOT FIXED. THE DEALERSHIP DID SECURE THE CRUISE CONTROL CABLE AWAY FROM ACCERLERATOR SO THAT I COULD DRIVE IT. I HAD TO PAY FOR A RENTAL FROM 9/26/2000-10/10/2000. THEY REFUSED TO GIVE ME A LONER CAR OR RENTAL FROM THEM. I AM STILL AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS, I'VE HAD TOO MUCH BAD LUCK THE LAST FEW WEEKS WITH IT. I'M FIGHTING WITH GM TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE RENTAL, TOTAL AMOUNT IS $533. I WOULD LIKE TO GET OUT OF THIS LEASE, HAVE MY LEASE TRANSFERRED TO SOMETHING ELSE. AS FAR AS I KNOW, THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THE 1999 CHEVROLET BLAZERS, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANY. IT JUST SEEMS ITS FALLING APART ON ME!!*AK

2 MONTHS INTO OWNING THIS VEHICLE THE UPPER CONSOLE DIGITAL TEMPERATURE READ OUT WENT BAD. UPON REPLACING IT TWICE IT IS STILL MALFUNCTIONING. THEY HAVE EVEN REPLACED THE SENSOR ON THE FRONT GRILL TO NO AVAIL. AT ONE OIL CHANGE THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO ME WITH A CROOKED HOOD. THE LOCK ASSEMBLY HAD SLID OVER 1/2 INCH. IT CAUSED THE HOOD AND THE FENDER TO MEET AND THE TWO METALS SLAMMED TOGETHER CAUSED A SCRATCH ON BOTH PARTS IN THE PAINT. THE LOCK ASSEMBLY WAS RETURNED TO IT'S ORIGINAL POSITION. UPON INFORMING THE DEALER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS "SLIPPING" WHEN IN GEAR I WAS GIVEN A VERBAL DRIVING LESSON. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THE CHEVROLET S-10 BLAZER SINCE 1992 AND THIS IS THE 3RD ONE I HAVE AQUIRED. AFTER BRINGING IN A THIRD PARTY THE LOCKING DIFFERENTIAL, ALL FLUIDS, AND SEALS WERE REPLACED, THUS FIXING THE ISSUE. AT 4000 MILES MY ENGINE "BURNED OUT" 3 OF 6 FUEL INJECTORS WITH NO EXPLAINATION. I HAVE BEEN MADE AWARE OF SEVERAL OTHER VEHICLES OF THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL BEING BROUGHT IN FOR THE SAME ISSUES. THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER SMALL ISSUES, LITTLE BUTTONS FALLING OUT, COVER PLATES POPPING OUT OF PLACE, ETC. BUT YOU DO NOT HAVE A BOX FOR THESE ISSUES. THE OWNER OF THIS DEALERSHIP IS VERY AWARE OF THE ISSUES I HAVE COME ACROSS AS I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER OF THIS DEALERSHIP FOR 3 YEARS AND HAVE REMOVED 3 VEHICLES FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. FRONT SUSPENSION MAKE A SQUEEKING OR CREEKING SOUND AT ANY SPEED WHEN GOING OF ANY TYPE OF BUMP.....DRIVER SIDE SEAT ADJUSTMENT LEVER BROKE OFF IN MY HAND WHEN TRYING TO ADJUST FRONT SEAT POSITION.

CONSUMER WAS DRIVING AT 65 MPH AND GOING AROUND A CORNER WHEN THE VEHICLE WENT ON HALF OF THE PAVEMENT, AND CONSUMER LOST CONTROL. WHEN CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO GAIN CONTROL OF VEHICLE, IT ROLLED OVER ABOUT THREE TO FOUR TIMES. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY, AND THE PASSENGER'S SIDE TIRE BROKE OFF. CONSUMER HAD TO BREAK THREE OF THE WINDOWS TO GET OTHER CONSUMER'S OUT OF THE VEHICLE. *AK
