WE HAVE A 2000 CHEVY BLAZER VIN [XXX]. SINCE OWNERSHIP THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN EXPECTED. MY SISTER HAS COMPLAINED NUMEROUS TIMES ABOUT ISSUES WITH RATTLES, SQUEAKS AND BODY ISSUES. WE HAVE NOTICED EARLY IN THE VEHICLES LIFE THE AMOUNT OF RUST THIS BLAZER HAS ON THE UNDERBODY. THIS HAS BEEN THE ISSUE OF SOME OF THE NOISES. RECENTLY, SHE COMPLAINED AGAIN OF A SUSPENSION NOISE WHILE STOPPING, TURNING OR HITTING RUTS OR HOLES IN THE ROAD. I INSPECTED AND LUBRICATED PROBLEMATIC POINTS THAT WE ADDRESSED IN THE PAST. THE NOISE WOULD COME AND GO. FINALLY, SHE MENTIONED A FEEL OF CONTROL LOSS WHILE BRAKING AND MAKING TURNS AND THE NOISE. SHE MENTIONED THE NOISE WAS SO LOUD PEOPLE WOULD STARE OR TURN HEADS. UPON MY INSPECTION I WAS SHOCKED AND NEVER HAVE SEEN THIS PROBLEM ON ANY VEHICLE. THE REAR SHACKLES THAT HOLD THE REAR LEAF SPRING TO THE FRAME HAD COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH. THUS ALLOWING THE LEAF SPRING TO FLOAT FREELY ON THE FRAME RAIL IN REAR. THIS SHACKLE ALLOWS THE LEAF SPRING TO MOVE FORWARD AND BACKWARD DURING SUSPENSION FLEX. IN ADDITION, THIS STABILIZES THE REAR END AND KEEPS EVERYTHING IN PLACE-CONSULT A MECHANIC FOR SPECIFIC FUNCTION. I HAVE DEALT WITH MANY CARS IN MY LIFE AS WELL AS TRUCKS. NEVER, HAVE I SEEN THIS RUST ISSUE IN ANY VEHICLE-CHEVY TO NOTE AS WELL. I AM DEMANDING A RESPONSE TO THIS PROBLEM AND I WILL FURTHER CONTACT TRAFFIC SAFETY ABOUT THIS ISSUE. I'M SORRY, BUT THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AT HAND. THIS BLAZER HAS AROUND 73000 MILES AND FROM THE OUTSIDE PAINT AND INTERIOR LOOKS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. HOWEVER, WHEN LOOKING AT THE UNDERSIDE CARRIAGE, ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THE INTEGRITY OF THE DOOR HINGES (ESPECIALLY DRIVERS DOOR) IT IS A MESS. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE VIBRATED. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL BEARINGS FAILED AND HE MADE THE REPLACEMENT. APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE WHEEL BEARINGS WERE REPLACED AGAIN. APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL BEARINGS. THE BEARINGS WERE REPLACED FOR THE THIRD TIME. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,500 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 93,000.

DRIVERS SIDE UPPER BALL JOINT SEPARATED WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN OFF OF A MAIN STREET ONTO A SIDE STREET. THE WHEEL FOLDED INTO THE WHEEL WELL CAUSING THE 2000 WORTH OF DAMAGE. CHEVY BLAZER CAME TO A SUDDEN HALT. MY FAMILY WAS VERY LUCKY WE WERE NOT GOING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN THIS OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 72,000 MILES. MY BLINKERS STARTED BLINKING REAL FAST AND I COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHY. I ASKED MY BROTHER AND HE TOLD ME I HAD A LIGHT OUT SOMEWHERE, SO HE HELPED ME LOCATE IT. IT WAS MY BLINKER ON THE DRIVER SIDE BACK. I REPLACED IT AND A FEW MONTHS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I REPLACED IT AGAIN. ALL THIS HAPPENED IN 2013. IN THE SUMMER OF 2014 IT HAPPENED AGAIN WITH THE SAME LIGHT. I REPLACED IT AGAIN. I WAS WATCHING GOOD MORNING AMERICA THIS MORNING AND SEEN WHERE THEY WERE INVESTIGATING SAFE CARS AT USED CAR DEALERS. IT GAVE A WEB SITE TO LOOK AND SEE IF YOUR VEHICLE HAS ANY RECALLS. I HAVE A 2000 BLAZER LT WITH 128,000 MILES THAT HAS HAD HEATING/COOLING SYSTEM PROBLEMS FOR SEVERAL YEARS. HAD DEX-COOL IN SYSTEM WHICH I MONITORED REGULARLY TO MAKE SURE HAS TOPPED UP. GM STATES DEX-COOL IS MAINT FREE TO 155,000 MILES. WHEN VEHICLE REACHED 100,000 MILES, I BEGAN TO LOOSE HEAT. I NOTICED A CRYSTAL-LIKE RESIDUE FLOATING IN COOLANT. DRAINED, BACK FLUSHED HEATER CORE AND FLUSHED SYSTEM 3 TIMES THEN ADDED PRESTONE (GREEN) COOLANT. AFTER ABOUT 10,000 MILES BEGAN TO LOOSE HEAT AGAIN, REPEATED FLUSH AND FILL. EVERY YEAR SINCE, WHEN COLDER WEATHER SETS IN, THE SAME PROBLEM SHOWS UP AND I GO THROUGH THE SAME FLUSH AND FILL PROCEDURE. DEX-COOL HAS LEFT SO MUCH SLUDGE THROUGHOUT THE SYSTEM I CAN'T GET IT ALL OUT AND IT CONTINUES TO PLUG THE SYSTEM. I HAVE REPLACED TWO WATER PUMPS, THREE THERMOSTATS AND HAVE SPENT HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS JUST DOING FLUSH AND FILLS. ENGINE TEMP WILL BE GOOD FOR THE FIRST FEW WEEKS AFTER A F & F THEN BEGINS TO RUN HOT AGAIN WITH THE SMELL OF COOLANT IN AND AROUND THE VEHICLE. THERE ARE NO VISIBLE LEAKS ON THE GROUND OR ON THE BLOCK. ALL ENGINE VACUUMS CHECK OK. ALL OTHER REGULAR MAINT DONE WHEN REQUIRED. I TOOK THE BLAZER INTO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AND THEY RAN THE VIN. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR MY BLAZER. 2000 CHEVY BLAZER HAS ABS LIGHT COME ON. WHEN THIS OCCURS THE BRAKES DO NOT WORK. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE SPEED IS EXTREMELY LOW-OR GOING 55MPH-65MPH DEPENDING ON POSTED SPEED LIMIT. IF YOU BARELY TOUCH THEM IT SLIPS/DOES NOT GRAB. IF YOU TRY TO PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL IT GOES TO THE FLOOR TWO OR THREE TIMES BEFORE CATCHING. YOU CAN HEAR A NOISE BEFORE THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON-YOU CAN FEEL THE BRAKE PEDAL GET TIGHT AND THEN REAL LOOSE BEFORE LIGHT COMES ON. THE LIGHT DOES NOT STAY ON, NOR DO YOU HAVE A WARNING ABOUT IT COMING ON. I JUST HAD NEW BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS PUT ON- THE BRAKES SHOULD BE BETTER THAN NEW- HOWEVER, DOES'NT MATTER IF THEY ARE BEING TOLD BY A SENSOR OR OTHER COMPUTER CHIP/LIGHT THAT THEY DON'T WORK! I'VE BEEN TOLD IT IS THE ABS BRAKE MOTOR VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY PART, THAT IS MALFUNCTIONING. PLEASE INVESTIGATE BEFORE SOMEBODY GETS HURT OR DIES. THE DRIVER'S SEAT BACK ADJUSTMENT LEVER BROKE OFF AT THE ROD CONNECTING IT. , NO ADJUSTING COULD BE DONE. THE PART WAS REPAIRED, AND A NEW HANDLE HAD TO BE ORDERED, BECAUSE CHEVROLET DECIDEDR ROD, MADE OUT OF A HEAVIER METAL, WHICH WOULDN'T FIT THE OLD LEVER. THE THROTTLE PEDAL STICKS ON TAKEOFF/STARTUP FROM A STOPPED POSITION (I.E. STOP LIGHT/SIGN). I HAVE TO EXERT EXTRA PRESSURE ON THE PEDAL TO GET THE VEHICLE MOVING. WHEN I EXERT THE EXTRA PRESSURE ON THE PEDAL, AFTER ABOUT 1 - 2 INCHES, IT BREAKS FREE AND LUNGES FROM THE STOP. I WENT BACK TO WALMART THE NEXT DAY ON 11/8/2008 AFTER ARGUING WITH THEM THEY FINALLY REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES BUT THEY USED THE SAME BRAND, AND NOW A MONTH LATER I'M STARTING TO SEE THE SAME PATTERN OF INDENT'S/ IMPRESSIONS IN THE SIDE WALL AND THESE TIRES TO LEAK AIR AS BAD AS THE LAST SET OF DOUGLAS TIRES THE REPLACEMENT TIRES WALMART INSTALLED ARE 205/75R15BWX-T. I BELIEVE THAT THIS BRAND NAME HAS DEFECTIVE TIRES AND THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO. WE HAD PURCHASED UNIROYAL TIRES IN OCTOBER 2002 FROM FARM AND FLEET IN LA CROSSE. AS OF AUGUST 4, 2005, ALL THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THE TIRES CRACKING AND PEELING. WE TOOK THE CAR TO SEARS WHERE THEY TOLD US THEY WOULD NOT LET US DRIVE THE CAR DUE THE SEVERITY OF THE PEELING OF THE TIRES. DRIVING OUR CAR WITH THE TIRES IN THE POOR CONDITION COULD CAUSE AND ACCIDENT AND INJURY. I STARTED HAVING A PANIC ATTACK AFTER HEARING THIS NEWS. WE WERE TOLD THAT THIS IS NOT NORMAL FOR TIRES TO SHRED, CRACK, AND PEEL AT ONLY 40,000 MILES. I CALLED FARM AND FLEET WHERE WE BOUGHT THE TIRES AND HE TOLD ME "TOO BAD" AND HUNG UP ON ME. I CALLED UNIROYAL AND SHE SAID IT IS NOT THEIR PROBLEM IF OUR TIRES CRACKED, THAT'S WHAT TIRES DO. MY VEHICLE WAS TOWED ON OCTOBER 25, 2006 BY MASTER TOWING CO. IN SAN MARCOS, TEXAS. LATER THAT EVENING I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE WRECKER SERVICE AND PAY TO GET MY VEHICLE OUT OF IMPOUND. ONCE I GOT HOME, I NOTICED THAT MY ENTIRE CD CASE FULL OF COMPACT DISCS WAS MISSING. ITS VALUED AT ABOUT $500 IF NOT MORE. I THEN CALLED THE WRECKER SERVICE THE NEXT MORNING AND WAS NOT ABLE TO GET A HOLD OF ANYONE UNTIL MONDAY OCT. 27, 2006. I THEN SPOKE TO A MANAGER BY THE NAME OF ANGIE AND SHE TOLD ME SHE WOULD SPEAK WITH HER DRIVERS. SHE NEVER GOT BACK TO ME SO I CONSISTENTLY CALLED UNTIL I GOT A RESPONSE. WHEN I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET A HOLD OF HER SHE SAID THAT NONE OF HER DRIVERS HAD SEEN OR PICKED IT UP AND THAT HER COMPANY WAS NOT LIABLE FOR MY MISSING ITEMS. SHE DID NOT EVEN SEEM VERY CONCERNED WITH TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT REALLY HAPPENED OR TRY AND AT LEAST FIND THEM. SHE TOLD ME SHE WOULD GET BACK TO ME ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND SHE NEVER DID. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS COMMON AND THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COSTS. THE WARRANTY EXPIRED ON THE VEHICLE FIVE DAYS AFTER THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 73,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 73,000.

I HAVE A 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER AND AROUND A YEAR AND A HALF AGO MY DRIVERS SIDE DOOR STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH CLOSING IT. I TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THEY SAID DOOR WAS TOO HEAVY AND THE BUSHINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND REPAIR THE STRIKER PLATE. THAT COST WAS $175 AND SHORTLY AFTER THE DOOR STARTED SLIPPING DOWN AGAIN. NOW THE PASSENGERS SIDE IS DOING THE SAME THING, I CAN CLOSE IT BUT CANNOT USE IT. I HAVE A SON THAT I DO NOT FEEL SAFE LETTING HIM SIT IN THE FRONT WITH ME BECAUSE AFTER DRIVING AND GOING OVER BUMPS IT GETS JARRED AND STARTS COMING OPEN. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE ISSUE AND UNTIL NOW I DID NOT KNOW WHO TO COMPLAIN TO. I ALSO HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FOR ANY OF THE LISTED RECALL PROBLEMS SUCH AS SEAT BELTS. I PURCHASED MY 2000 BLAZER LS 2DR 4X4 WITH 58000 MILES. AT SPEEDS AROUND 65-70, IT VIBRATES PRETTY HARSHLY. I HAVE BRAND NEW TIRES, BREAKS, AND MY U-JOINTS AND BEARINGS HAVE BEEN INSPECTED AND FOUND TO BE FINE. STILL HAVE VIBRATION. I FEEL THAT THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AND REPAIRED BY GM. ALSO AT 58000 MILES I HAD TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATER. FORTUNATELY, I HAD JUST GOTTEN OFF THE FREEWAY AND WAS LOOKING FOR AN ADDRESS AT A SLOW SPEED. THE FIREMEN'S OBSERVATION WAS, IF I HAD BEEN GOING ANY FASTER, THE CAR COULD HAVE FLIPPED. AFTER BEING TOWED TO A NEARBY MECHANIC, I LEARNED THE UPPER CONTROL ARM HAD BROKEN. IT IMPAILED THE STARTER WHICH SHORTED. THAT MELTED THE WIRING HARNESSES TO AND FROM THE BATTERY, AS WELL AS BEING THE CAUSE OF THE BATTERY BOILING. THE HOOD WILL NOT POP UP WHEN THE LEVER WAS PULLED UNTIL ONE BANGED ON THE GRILL OR THE HOOD IN CERTAIN SPOTS, WHICH JUST STARTED IN MARCH OF 2007. THE GAS MILEAGE DROPPED FROM 20 MPG TO 16 MPG WITHIN 6 MONTHS. THE BACK GLASS STUCK AND WAS HARD TO OPEN, STARTED IN 2006. WHEN TURNING ON THE AIR CONDITIONER (A/C ) THE CAR HAD NO POWER, I HAVE TO TURN IT OFF WHEN ACCELERATING ON THE INTERSTATE OR ON HILLS. IF THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS SET IT KICKED OFF WHEN THE A/C WAS ON. WHEN I NEEDED TO STOP QUICKLY THE BRAKES FAILED, AND FELT A GRINDING SENSATION THROUGH THE PEDAL, BUT THE MECHANIC CHANGED THE BRAKES AND CHECKED THE ROTORS, BUT HASN'T FOUND ANY PROBLEM. SUSPECTED A DEFECT SOMEWHERE IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM\ AS OF 2005. THE FAN KICKED ON ALL THE TIME, EVEN WHEN THE ENGINE WAS COLD, AND IN WINTER WHEN FIRST STARTING. ONE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT IN MANY BLAZERS THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER BROKE OFF IN THE MUFFLER, WHICH HAD TO BE REPLACED. HAD BEEN TOLD THIS HAPPENED SO MUCH THAT MOST PEOPLE LEFT THEM OFF. I BOUGHT THE 2000 BLAZER USED JUST OVER A YEAR AGO AND HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. TO BEGIN, I REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR, FUEL PUMP, AND VIRTUALLY ALL SUSPENSION COMPONENTS IN THE FRONT END WITH JUST OVER 65,000 MILES. ON VACATION DURING ONE OF THE HOTTEST DAYS OF THE YEAR TRAVELING HOME THE BLAZER OVER HEATED AND LEFT MY FAMILY AND I STRANDED ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE WITH NO A/C FOR NEARLY AN HOUR BEFORE GETTING TOWED TO THE WORST CHEVROLET DEALER IN THE COUNTRY(RICHMOND, VA). WE WERE FORCED TO PAY FOR A NEW RADIATOR AND MISCELLANEOUS PARTS TOTALING OVER $600. THEY SAID THE COOLANT SYSTEM WAS FULL OF RUST AND THE RADIATOR WAS PLUGGED AND COULD NOT BE REUSED. NOW I'M EXPERIENCING THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON THAT WILL NOT GO OUT. AFTER NUMEROUS TRIPS TO THE DEALER THAT STARTED WITH LEAKING OIL COOLER LINES, THEY SAID THAT THE CRANK SENSOR WAS GOING BAD. I REPLACED IT, STILL THE LIGHT STAYS ON. NEXT THEY SAY THERE IS A MISFIRE IN CYLINDER 2, I REPLACE THE PLUGS, WIRES, ROTOR, AND CAP. STILL THE LIGHT STAYS ON. ALL OF THESE REPAIRS WITHIN THE FIRST 14 MONTHS OF OWNING THIS JUNK AND IT IS NOT ANYWHERE NEAR BEING PAID FOR. GM NEEDS TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH MY 2000 CHEVY BLAZER LS 4X4. UNDER WARRANTY THE DEALER REPLACED THE OIL LINES BY THE OIL FILTER, WHOLE SEAT MECHANISM, DRIVER SIDE WINDOW MOTOR, REAR SHOCK. AT 50,000 MILES THE SAME ONE WENT OUT AGAIN AND HAD IT REPLACED. NOW AT 68,000 MILES THE PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL BEARING IS BAD. I PURCHASED MY CHEVROLET BLAZER NEW AT THE END OF 1999 AND IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP SO MUCH I KNOW ALL 15 OF THE MECHANICS BY THERE FIRST NAME. THE BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED AT LEAST 3 TIMES, THE ALTERNATOR HAS BEEN CHANGED 3 TIMES, THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACES, THE SEAT HANDLES HAVE BEEN REPLACED MORE THAN ONCE, THE SEAT BELTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED FROM LOCKING UP, THE FRONT END HAS HAD WORK DONE TO IT AND STILL IS NOT FIXED, THE REAR RIGHT SPEAKER DOES NOT WORK, THE FUEL GAUGE HAS BEEN REPLACED, THE GAS PETAL STICKS I HAFT TO CLEAN THE CARD AT LEAST EVERY MONTH, THE HEATER CORE HAS BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES AND IT STILL DOES NOT GET HOT. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS CAUSED BY THE ORANGE ANTIFREEZE AND WAS TOLD THAT CHEY WOULD NOT WARRANTY THEIR 5 YEAR ANTIFREEZE AND THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED A $500.00 ENGINE FLUSH THAT I COULD DO MY SHELF FOR $10.00 BUT I WAS THEN TOLD THAT THE ENGINE WAS CORRODED UP INSIDE AND I WOULD NEED A NEW MOTOR AND THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR IT EVEN UNDER WARRANTY. I CALLED GM COMPLAINT LINE AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY NEW OF THE PROBLEM AND THEY COULD NOT OFFER ME ANY HELP. THE COMPLAINT LINE WAS A JOKE AND A WASTE OF MY TIME. THE FUEL PUMP,LINE AND TANK ARE FAULTY AT 35000 MILES. I BOUGHT IT AS A USED CAR FROM SANTA ANA HYUNDAI WHO AGREED TO FIX THE FUEL PUMP BUT DID NOT. THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT CHANGING GEARS PROPERLY, IT WOULD NOT START WHEN I TURNED IT OFF TO GET GAS ON 9-26-03, THE LEFT FRONT END IS POPPING WITH A LOUD NOISE,THE BRAKES ARE NOT ANTILOCK BRAKES,IT FEELS AS IF I AM HITTING METAL WHEN I STOP HARD,THE PANEL LIGHTS WOULD FLICKER, LIGHTS ON DASH BOARD WHEN FLASH WHEN I HAD SEATBELT ON. I HAD A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP FIX THE MINOR THINGS. THE BATTERY CABLE WAS LOOSE AND THEY OILED THE JOINTS TO STOP THE SQUEAK. THE DEALER REFUSED TO FIX THE FUEL PUMP WHICH IS UNSAFE AND DEMAND I PAY HIM MONEY THAT IS ALREADY ABOVE THE PRICE OF THIS CAR. MY 2000 CHEVY BLAZER (88K MI.) HAD BOTH THE ABS SYSTEM LIGHT AND EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT COME ON. I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED STRANGE ABS ACTIVATION EVEN AT LOW SPEED AND LIGHT BRAKE APPLICATION. MY DEALER SAID THE ABS CONTROLLER IS FAULTY. I HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS DESCRIPTIONS OF THESE VERY SAME SYMTOMS FROM OTHER OWNERS AS WELL AS TSB REFERENCES TO THIS DEFECT. THIS LOOKS LIKE A TREND AND A DESIGN FLAW AND A SAFTEY ISSUE. THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AND THE ABS CONTROLLER SYSTEM SHOULD BE RECALLED.

THE GAS PEDAL STICKS 75% OF THE TIME UPON INITIAL ACCELERATION, WHETHER THAT IS FROM A STOPPED POSITION OR ACCELERATING AFTER SLOWING. THE STICKING IS SUCH THAT FORCE HAS TO BE EXERTED TO GET THE PEDAL TO DEPRESS THEREBY CAUSING LURCHING OF THE VEHICLE. IN PARKING LOT SITUATIONS OR ON ICY ROADS THIS CAN BE POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS. ALSO, BOTH FRONT SEAT ADJUSTERS THAT ALLOW THE SEAT TO BE REPOSITIONED HAVE BROKEN OFF WHILE TRYING TO REPOSTION THE SEAT. WHEN WE REPORTED THESE ITEMS TO OUR DEALER THEY SAID THESE ARE COMMON PROBLEMS THEY ARE SEEING FREQUENTLY. IF THIS IS SO I FEEL IT IS A DEFECT OF THE MANUFACTURER. SINCE PURCHASE OF VEHICLE OCT 2000 I HAVE BEEN IN THE SHOP 35 X FOR MANUFACTURING PROBLEMS. ONGOING PROBLEMS INCLUDE DIMMING OF HEADLIGHTS AT ANY GIVEN TIME AND FLICKERING OF CLOCK/RADIO DISPLAY AT ANY GIVEN TIME. SERVICE ATTEMPTED TO FIX THE DIMMING AND FLICKERING BY REPLACING THE ALTERNATOR, BUT IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY ARE NOW UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. IT TOOK SERVICE 5 ATTEMPTS TO FIX TAILLIGHT WATER RETENTION PROBLEM (THEY SEALED THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY). THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL FLUID WAS REPORTEDLY LOW FROM FACTORY CAUSING A GRINDING SOUND IN MY GEARS (IT TOOK 2 ATTEMPTS TO FIX THAT PROBLEM). SINCE THAT DIFFERENTIAL PROBLEM, I HAVE HAD A CLUNK BETWEEN 2ND & 3RD GEARS (SERVICE IS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM).

THE 2000 CHEVY BLAZER IS A MECHANICAL AND SAFTEY NIGHTMARE! THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW/LEASE AND I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS FROM THE BEGINNING. THE EXHAUST HAS NEVER SOUNDED NORMAL; IT HAS A PREIGNITION (RATTLE-LIKE) NOISE, AND I WAS RECENTLY TOLD THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER IS BAD. THE ALTERNATOR FAILED AT APPROXIMATELY 12000 MILES. THE HAZARD LIGHTS FAILED IN APRIL 2002, AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED SHORTLY AFTER. THE STEERING PROBLEMS INCLUDE: CLUNKING WHEN TURNING TO THE LEFT, A SHIFT IN THE FRONT END (FEELS LIKE THE FRONT PASS. SIDE STEERING COMPONENTS ARE LOOSE). THE VEHICLE IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL ON FREEWAY DUE TO LOOSE STEERING AND INABILITY TO CONTROL ON TRANSITIONING/UNEVEN PAVEMENT. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED FRONT PASS-SIDE TIEROD AND STABILIZER, AND THE STEERING WHEEL NOW HAS A 12-15DEGREE, OFF-CENTER, RIGHT LIST. CUTTER CHEVEROLET OF HAWAII IS NOW HAVING US TRY TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM(S), AND TRYING EVERYTHING THEY CAN TO NOT ACCEPT THAT THE VEHICLE IS, IN FACT, A "LEMON"! WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO PROVE THAT A VEHICLE IS JUST NOT A GOOD VEHICLE; DOES MY FAMILY HAVE TO GET INJURED OR DIE TO PROVE THERE IS A PROBLEM! WE HAVE HAD SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE.WE CAN NOT GET ANY SATISFACTION THRU THE DEALER OR CHEVROLET.WE FIRST HAD A 1999 BLAZER.WE HAD SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH IT THEY PUT US IN A 2000 BLAZER.WE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS AND MORE.ON THE 1999 BLAZER WE HAD TO REPLACE THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH.IT WENT OUT AND LEFT MY WIFE STRANDED.WE HAD TO REPLACE ALL THE DOOR PANELS BECAUSE OF EXCESSIVE NOISE.WE HAD TO RPLACE THE OVERHEAD CONSOLE.T 47,000 MILES THE REAREND WENT OUT.N THE 2000 BLAZER THEY PUT US IN ,WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE SEAT LEVERS.AT 34,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT.WE HA TO REPLACE THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH ON THIS VEHICLE TOO.THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE CHEVROLET PLACE TOLD US THAT ANYONE DRIVING THESE VEHICLES WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THIS SWITCH.THERE WERE 5 OTHER BLAZERS IN THE SHOP FOR THE SAME PROBLEM WHEN WE TOOK OURS IN.ONE OF THEM ONLY HAD 4,000 MILES ON IT.CHEVROLET KNOWS THIS PROBLEMS EXSISTS BUT WILL NOT ADMIT IT FOR FEAR OF A RECALL.THIS MULTIFUNCTION SWICH CONTROLS AL YOUR LIGHTS AND IGNITION.IT CAN FAIL AND LEAVE YOU STRANDED WITH NO WARNINING.WE HAVE HAD NO LUCK IN DEALING WITH CHEVROLET.THEY TOLD US TO JUST KEEP BRINGING IT IN WHEN SOMETHING GOES WRONG WITH IT.WE DIDNT PAY 27,000 DOLLARS FOR A VEHICLE THAT WE ARE AFRIAD TO DRIVE.IT NOW SITS IN OUR YARD AND WE ARE NOT MAKING THE PAYMENTS.THAY CAN COME GET THE PIECE OF JUNK.ITS NO WONDER PEOPLE ARE FED UP WITH AMERICAN CAR MAKERS. *AK

FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WOULD STICK IT WOULD TAKE ALL YOUR EFFORT TO OPEN IT. THEY ADJUSTED THE DOOR STRICKER AND LUBED THE HINGES 5/24/00. 7/25/00 DOOR WAS STILL STICKING AGAIN THEY ADJUSTED DOOR AND STRICKER. POWERTRAIN- REAR 7/25/00 REPORTED THAT REAR SHAKES AND SHIMMYS ON ACCELERATION FROM A STOP. THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE. 8/30/00 TOOK IN AGAIN FOR SHUTTER IN REAR, THEY REPLACED 1 GASKET 5.399 SP 2 BEARINGS 5.536 SP AND 1 CASE ASM 5.510. 6/1/01 TOOK IN FOR THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYING ON FOUND HISTORY CODE FOR NO COMMUNICATION BETWEEN COMPUTERS COULD NOT GET IT TO DUPLICATE. 7/16/01 AIR BAG LIGHT CHECK FOR HISTORY CODES RESET AND TEST DROVE COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM. I ALSO HAD NO BRAKE LIGHTS THIS VISIT. IT HAD BLOWN 3 FUSES. THEY FOUND THAT MULTIFUNTION SWITCH WAS DEFECTIVE AND WAS HOPING THAT THAT WOULD SOLVE THE AIR BAG PROBLEM. 9/25/01 TOOK IN FOR AIR BAG LIGHT AGAIN. CODES THAT SHOWED UP WERE V1000, V1016,V1041,V1064,V1096 RESET CODES SAID THAT IT WAS STATING THAT IT WAS NOT REGISTERING A PROBLEM WIT THE AIR BAG. THIS TRIP I HAD THE WINDOW LOCK OVERIDE REPLACED. ALL WINDOWS WERE LOCKED EXCEPT FOR THE DRIVERS. 10/10/01 TOOK BACK IN FOR AIR BAG LIGHT. NOT REGISTERING AGAIN. TRACED WIRING TO SPLICE PAK 201 CLEANED AND REROUTE AND REINSTALL BUSS. THIS TRIP THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR LOCK WAS NOT WORKING AND IT WAS REPLACED. TOLD ME TO CALL IF LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. 10/23/01 LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING HOME. CALLED AND TOOK BACK TO SHOP 10/24/01. IT WAS NOT READING ANY CODES. THEY DROVE CAR 140 MILES AND COULD NOT GET IT TO COME ON. THEY TOLD ME THE NEXT TIME IT COMES ON IF IN DAYTIME MONDAY- FRIDAY TO CALL THEM AND THEY WILL COME AND GET THE CAR, NOT TO CUT IT OFF AND THEY WILL HOOK IT UP TO THE COMPUTER WHILE THE LIGHT IS STILL ON. PLEASE HELP!!!!! WHAT OPTIONS DO I HAVE? DOES THE LEMON LAW APPLY HERE????
