The contact's daughter owns a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the power steering assist failed to operate as needed. There was no warning light illuminated. Due to the failure, extra effort was needed to steer the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or inspected for the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that there were no recalls related to the failure for the VIN. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V153000 (Steering). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 54,000.

I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE RECALL ON THE 2007-2009 ON THE CORROSION OF THE GAS LINES ON DRIVERS SIDE REAR WHEEL WHEN I TOOK MY CAR TO A CHEVY DEALER AND THEY SAID ITS THE SAME THING THATS HAPPENING TO MY CAR.AND THAT THEY ONLY DID THE RECALL ON 2007-2009 COLBALT MODELS .THE LAST COLBALT'S MADE WAS THE 2010 MODELS.WHY DIDNT THEY RECALL THEM ALSO.I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER CHEVY DEALER IN AMELIA AND THEY SAID THE SAME THING.THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED ASAP.ITS A SAFETY RELATED DEFECT FROM GM AND THEY KNOW IT.IF I HAVE TO I WILL GET A LAWYER AND SUE G.M. You Need to Reopen the Case. Due to the FACT that GM or who made the Cobalt's, Failed to tell you that THEY PUT HEAT COIL TAPE AROUND THE GAS LINES RIGHT WHERE IT RUSTED AND GAS LEAKS. Fuel lines are both leaking on the driver-side of the car, about halfway back along the length of the vehicle. I've sent it in for repairs, but I know I'm not the only one with this issue. The car has been driven gently and only has 52,000 miles on it.

The fuel line was leaking gasoline. It put the safety of the driver and other cars on the road as the car was leaking gasoline as it drove on the highway and city streets. The problem was confirmed by a service center and the fuel lines were replaced. No inspection by manufacturer, police etc. No warnings at all, car was starting rough and/or not starting at all.

IN DECEMBER 2015, I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE AND PUT MY CAR IN PARK, THEN TURNED MY KEY BACK TO LEAVE THE RADIO ON BUT EVERYTHING SEEMED TO COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. I TRIED TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION BUT COULDN'T GET IT OUT. I TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR, BUT IT WOULDN'T START. MY KEY WAS STUCK IN THE IGNITION. I GOOGLED THE PROBLEM AND READ THAT THE GEARSHIFT MAY APPEAR TO BE IN PARK, BUT IS REALLY IN GEAR, LOCKING THE KEY. I COULDN'T MOVE THE GEAR FORWARD ANY FURTHER BUT NOTICED THE "REVERSE" GEAR WAS HIGHLIGHTED ON THE PANEL INSTEAD OF "PARK". I SAW THAT IT WAS A RECALLED ISSUE SO I CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT TAP HAT ISSUE HAD ABLE EASY BEEN "FIXED" IN JUNE 2014. I EXPLAINED THAT MY KEY WAS STUCK AND MY GEARSHIFT APPEARED TO BE OFF KILTER, AND THAT IT WAS LISTED AS A DIFFERENT ISSUE. AGAIN, SHE RUDELY TOLD ME THAT HAD BEEN FIXED AND THAT THE PROBLEM MUST BE SOMETHING ELSE AND I'D HAVE TO PAY $70.00 FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC. The contact owned a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt. The contact stated that, while her daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed during an ice and rainstorm with poor visibility, a vehicle parked sideways in the middle of the roadway suddenly appeared. Unable to stop in time, the vehicle collided with the driver's side rear of the other vehicle, causing it to spin and veer onto the shoulder of the roadway before coming to a complete stop. The air bags deployed but failed to properly inflate, greatly reducing their effectiveness, which the contact held responsible for the various injuries sustained by the three occupants. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a storage facility and deemed a total loss by the contact's insurance provider. A police report was filed, and injuries were reported. All three occupants were transported to a local hospital by EMTs. The driver was treated for facial injuries sustained from striking the steering wheel. The minor occupant, who was seat-belted in the front passenger seat, was treated for injuries suffered to the right side of their forehead after hitting and breaking the front windshield, as well as a contusion across their chest caused by the seat belt. The contact was treated for a dislocated left shoulder and sustained multiple bruises. The manufacturer was notified of the incident, opened a case, and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for further assistance. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was unknown.

Our daughter observed a significant puddle forming under her vehicle and noticed a strong smell of gasoline. She sent us a video, which clearly showed gasoline leaking from the driver-side rear area of the car. Due to the proximity of the fuel leak to the exhaust pipe, we had the car towed to a mechanic, as it was too dangerous to drive. The mechanic diagnosed the issue as a severely rusted-out fuel line that required immediate repair. At no point did the vehicle display any warning lights or alerts related to this issue. Alarmingly, our daughter had unknowingly driven the car while the leak was occurring, unaware of the serious fire risk this posed. We believe this is a serious safety hazard that could lead to a fire or explosion and strongly urge an investigation. This failure occurred without warning and could have resulted in a catastrophic outcome. We are fortunate this was caught in time, but others may not be as lucky.

Bright LED lights when driving at night, specifically of other SUV or truck vehicles. This has affected my driving at night by blinding and giving me headaches. How can we prevent a safer road? Why is this approved? Why do headlights need to be so bright, that they are blinding to other vehicles? This is a huge safety concern and needs to be addressed. I drive a smaller car, but i shouldnt have to be punished because i drive a smaller vehicle. This isnt about specifically the make and model of the car, but solely on the bright LED headlights that are dangerous while i am driving at night.

Leaking fuel from plastic gas tank seam.i had it inspected by two,one Chevrolet dealer ship and my own macanic.both are saying its a malfuction on the plastic seal around the plastic gas tank.And Both are telling me I Need to Report this as soon as possible because its Leaking alot of fuel and can burst into flames, or Blow up, They both agree it is VERY VERY DANGEROUS.PERIOD AND I SHOULDNT BE DRIVING IT.they also agree it is a manafacture failure.and defentley needs to be recalled A.S.A.P. before all the people who do have the last Cobalts that were made before there Bankruptcy case.Lordstown should of recalled these knowing there 2007-2009 had problems with fuel leakage.

YESTERDAY MORNING I WENT OUT TO WARM UP THE CAR BEFORE HEADING OUT AND NOTICED A GOOD PUDDLE OF WATER UNDER MY CAR. I SMELLED THE FLUID AND FOUND IT TO BE ANTIFREEZE. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK MY CAR TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC WHO FOUND IT TO BE A LEAK IN THE TRANSMISSION COOLING LINE. BEING ADVISED TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR BECAUSE IT WAS BROKEN IN THE FACTORY JOINT, WHERE THE LINE IS LIKE WELDED TOGETHER DURING MANUFACTURING. I GOT HOME AND RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM ONLINE AND WAS SHOCKED AT THE NUMBER OF RESULTS DESCRIBING MY VERY PROBLEM. I CAN'T EVEN COUNT HOW MANY DESCRIBE THE SAME SCENARIO, GOING OUT AFTER THE HARDEST FREEZE, WATER PUDDLE UNDER THE CAR WITH ANTIFREEZE IN IT AND TRIP TO SHOP, DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION COOLING LINE! AS THOUGH ALL THESE OTHER PEOPLE WERE LIVING MY LIFE AT THAT MOMENT.I JUST BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE 2 MONTHS AGO AND HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEM AFTER PROBLEM, BUT THEY WERE MINOR COMPARED TO THIS! IT IS GOING TO COST ME CLOSE TO $300.00 TO FIX THIS VERY, VERY COMMON PROBLEM RIGHT HERE AT CHRISTMAS WITH 2 CHILDREN TO PROVIDE FOR. SEVERAL OF CUSTOMERS WHO REPORTED THE SAME PROBLEM DID SAY THE DEALERSHIP FIXED THEIR PROBLEM AT NO CHARGE BECAUSE IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM IN POOR MANUFACTURING OF THIS PART! Internal mechanism of the driver-side door handle broke and the door would not open from the inside. Tne dealership confirmed that the inside door ah glue is broken. The cable retainer snapped apart and the cable cannot stay connected. This might be available for inspection. Driver must exit the vehicle by crawling over to the passenger side. The problem has been confirmed by a Chevrolet dealer. There were no warning lamps or messages. The manufacturer no longer makes this part and it could not be replaced. Service description says that the customer had an electrical concern and that the door would not unlock from the inside. This was inaccurate. It was mechanical. The door could unlock, it could not open. The dealership would not let the diagnosis proceed until the customer agreed to that statement. The dealership inaccurately recorded the mileage.

THE CONTACT WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. THE DOCTORS WERE UNABLE TO NEUTRALIZE THE SUBSTANCE AND STATED THEY NEEDED THE REPAIR KIT FOR EXAMINATION IN ORDER TO TREAT THE BURNS. IF THE BTS IS ROTATED TOWARD THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, ADDED STRESS IS APPLIED TO THE WIRE BUNDLE THAT MAY CAUSE AN OPEN OR A GROUND PATH." THE VEHICLE LANDED ON TOP OF THE DRIVER. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED FOUR FRACTURED RIBS, A FRACTURED FOREARM ON THE LEFT ARM, A PUNCTURE WOUND ON THE LOWER LEFT CALF, A PUNCTURED LUNG, AND NERVE DAMAGE TO THE HIPS AND SHOULDERS. LAST WEEK, THE SIR INSTRUMENT LIGHT SUDDENLY ILLUMINATED (SERVICE AIRBAG) WHILE ON A TRIP TO EXERCISE THE CAR (CAR WAS STATIONARY AND THE SIR ILLUMINATED WHEN THE AUTOMOBILE WAS STARTED). SEE GM SERVICE BULLETIN 09-09-40-003A ISSUED AUGUST 2010. WHEN SIR IS ILLUMINATED, THE AIRBAGS ARE NON-FUNCTIONAL, BUT THE CAR IS DRIVEABLE. SEEMS GM HAS A LATENT DEFECT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT RETRACTOR AND ITS WIRING BUNDLE. GM DEALER CHARGE ~$500 TO REPLACE THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR AND ITS DEFECTIVE WIRING BUNDLE. THEY ALSO LOOSEN THE WIRE BUNDLE LEADING TO THE RETRACTOR TO GIVE IT MORE PLAY AND ALTER THE SEAT BELT SLEEVE TO ALLEVIATE BINDING OF THE WIRING BUNDLE. THIS PROBLEM IS GENERIC TO THE WHOLE COBALT LINE AND ITS PONTIAC COUSIN THE G%. SINCE THE FIX IS COSTLY, MOST FOLKS CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE AUTOMOBILE AND DON'T REALIZE THE AIRBAGS ARE NONFUNCTIONAL. VICENZA, ITALY. ROADS WERE CLEAR AND IT WAS 12AM, NOT MANY CARS WERE ON THE ROAD. I WAS HEADED TO WORK AND AS I WAS COMING INTO A SMALL TRAFFIC CIRCLE, THE CAR BEGAN DRIFTING, I LET GO OF EVERYTHING AND THE WHOLE THING SHUT OFF: ENGINE AND LIGHTS. ANOTHER CAR WAS COMING IN BUT NOTICED I WAS DRIFTING SO THEY SLOWED DOWN. I WAS HEADED INTO A RAMP AND TRIED TO STOP WITH MY BRAKES WHICH DIDN'T WORK. I HAD RECENTLY HAD AN OIL CHANGE AND MY BRAKES CHECKED, SO I KNOW MY CAR WAS FINE. IT LATER HAPPENED AGAIN A FEW MONTHS LATER. VERY SIMILAR SITUATIONS. IN 2012 I HAD AN INCIDENT, MY KEY WAS STUCK IN THE IGNITION WITH THE CAR RUNNING. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THE IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER WAS REMOVED, AND THEY FOUND THE SPRING HOLD DOWN PLATE WAS OFF AND THE SPRING WAS OUT OF THE CYLINDER, THEY REPLACED THE IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER. THEN, THE RECALL HAPPENED AND IN FEB OF 2015 I HAD TO BRING MY CAR IN FOR THE PRODUCT SAFETY RECALL, THEY REPLACED THE IGNITION AND START SWITCH. IN MAY OR JUNE 2015 I NOTICED THAT MY CAR WAS ACTING WEIRD, THE SPEEDOMETER WAS ACTING ERRATIC JUMPING FROM 30 TO 60 THEN BACK DOWN TO 20. IT WAS JUMPING ALL OVER THE PLACE EVEN WHEN THE CAR WAS JUST IDLING THEN IT WOULD STALL OUT. I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER THE LAST WEEK OF JUNE OR THE 1ST WEEK OF JULY, THEY CHANGED THE MODULE PANEL AND SAID IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. I DROVE MY CAR OUT OF STATE ON JULY 17TH, ON THE WAY HOME IT STARTED ACTING UP AGAIN, THE ENGINE SEEMED TO LOSE POWER WHEN GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE SPEEDOMETER WAS ACTING ALL ERRATIC AND THE CAR WAS BUCKING LIKE IT WANTED TO STALL. My car had a fuel pump go, then within MONTHS, another. We then dealt with the SAME problem symptomatically, and was told it was the fuel pump sensor. Within the last few weeks, I am having all the same issues-including the car intermittently not starting, gasoline leaking from the vehicle, both noticably missing from the gauge (i.e 1/8 tank less than night prior), odor of gas in the car, stalling out while driving and trying to start it, but also now dripping gas from the car. A new issue popped up, which is the dash light coming up saying "check gas cap". This past Thursday, my car wouldn't start again, and has not started since. It's concerning that the Chevy Cobalt has had recalls for the same exact problems, literally thousands of complaints that mirror mine- for every model year EXCEPT the 2010. It's also interesting that they also stopped producing the Cobalt entirely in 2010 too, but considering the amount of faults and issues I've seen documented in every year model it's not a shock. I'm concerned that despite the amount of complaints that include 2010 models, they were excluded from the recall and seeing that my situation is another one that won't be covered, fixed, or made right by GM is something that doesn't make sense. I have also seen, that in 2021 an investigation was launched specifically into this exact issue with the 2010, as well. I'm carless right now, with no answers from Chevy other than that it's not part of the recall, yet it's part of the problem. Something is VERY wrong here. It's shocking they wouldn't recall a vehicle knowing it's dripping gas, pooling gas, it's such a hazard for not only anyone driving them, but anyone driving near us or even PARKED near us. Please help do something! Also I have videos of my car dripping, 2 days prior to it not starting, if there is somewhere I could send those as well.

I HAVE OWNED A 2010 CHEVY COBALT SINCE 2012. SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON. THE POWER LOCKS ERRATICALLY LOCK AND UNLOCK. THE WINDOWS WILL BECOME JAMMED AND SUDDENLY WILL NOT ROLL BACK UP. CRUISE CONTROL WILL RANDOMLY STOP WORKING. I HAD ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION WHICH COST ME OVER $3,000 TO FIX. THEN, THERE WAS THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALL WHICH THE DEALER FIXED AT NO COST. BUT NOW I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE POWER STEERING. DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH WHEN ALL ELECTRICAL DASHBOARD WENT DOWN. WHILE DRIVING MY 2010 CHEVROLET COBALT HOME AFTER LEAVING WORK, I WAS ENTERING ONTO THE THRUWAY WHEN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ACTIVATED, MY DASHBOARD READER SAID, "ENGINE POWER REDUCED", THE CAR THEN LOST ACCELERATION, STARTED TO BUCK AND SHAKE. I QUICKLY PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND LET THE CAR SIT FOR 15 MINUTES. UPON START UP, I PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE, IT BUCKED INTO GEAR AND I PROCEEDED WITH CAUTION NOT DOING MORE THAN 30-35 MPH. I WENT TO ADVANCED AUTO PARTS AND RAN THEIR FREE OBDII DIAGNOSTIC READER. THE CODE THAT CAME BACK WAS PO641 - ENGINE CONTROL MODULE - PORT #3. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CLEARED OUT AFTER 2 DAYS. ON SUNDAY NOVEMBER 3,2013 MY SON WAS ON HIS WAY HOME FROM THE JAMES MADISON UNIVERSITY TRAVELING EAST ON VIRGINIA ROUTE 66 HEADING TOWARDS THE CAPITAL BELTWAY (495). AT MILE POST 26 ON ROUTE 66 HE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE IN THE FAST LANE. THE CAR WAS TRAVELING AT THE SPEED LIMIT (APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH) THE CAR MOVED INTO THE MEDIAN WHERE THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER THREE TIMES SMASHING THE FRONT BUMPER AREA, THE HOOD AND CRUSHED THE ROOF (BLOWING OUT ALL WINDOWS).LANDED UPSIDE DOWN IN THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC LANE ON THE WEST BOUND SIDE OF THE DIVIDED MEDIAN. THE FRONT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.THE CAR ENDED UP ON ITS ROOF. AN AMBULANCE AND POLICE BOTH ARRIVED AS WELL AS OTHER PEOPLE STOPPED ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE MEDIAN. MY GIRLFRIEND AND I WERE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE EARLY ONE MORNING. THERE WAS NO RAIN OR BAD ROAD CONDITIONS AND PRAYS GOD HARDLY ANY TRAFFIC AT ALL. ONE MINUTE EVERYTHING WAS FINE AND WITHIN A SPLIT SECOND THERE WAS A LOUD THUD BELOW OUR FEET. MY GIRLFRIEND LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND WE WERE THROWN ACROSS THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE AND SLAMMED INTO THE GUARD CABLES WHICH AT THAT POINT IN TIME THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE GUARD CABLES CATAPULTED US BACK ACROSS THE INTERSTATE WERE WE WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET THE CAR STOPPED. THE TROOPER WENT ON TO EXPLAIN THAT THIS WAS OBVIOUSLY NOT A "BLOWOUT" DUE TO THE FACT THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO TRASH ON THE ROAD OR OFF THE ROAD THE ROAD THEY WOULD BE CONSISTENT WITH A BLOW OUT. THAT'S WHEN WE TOLD HIM THE CAR HAD BEEN TAKEN TO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP WERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NOT 9 DAYS PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT AND THE WHEELS AND TIRES AND BEEN ROTATED, THE OIL CHANGED AND AN INSPECTION COMPLETED ON THE CAR AND THEY TRIED TO SAY EVERYTHING CHECKED OUT OK. I BROUGHT IT TO ROTOLO CHEVROLET IN FONTANA,CA (THE PLACE WHERE I BOUGHT IT). THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A RECALL AND THEY REPLACED MY MOTOR ALREADY. THEY CHARGED ME $100.00 AND TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD PUT AN UPGRADED MOTOR IN FOR ANOTHER $200. THE CAR WAS NOT REPAIRED. YOU CAN BUY THE MOTOR ON LINE FOR $80. 2010 CHEVROLET COBALT. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO RECOMMENDING A RECALL CONCERNING SEAT BELT STOPS *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE SEAT BELT STOPS FAILED TWICE. WHEN THEY BROKE, THE SEAT BUCKLE DROPPED ON THE STRAP BELOW THE SEAT BETWEEN THE ROCKER PANEL, WHICH MADE IT NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO RETRIEVE THE BUCKLE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE PART WAS AN INEXPENSIVE TWO-PART BUTTON THAT WENT THROUGH THE STRAP WHICH STOPPED THE BUCKET FROM SLIDING DOWN ON THE BELT. THE DEALER REPLACED THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT STOP. *JB THE CONSUMER STATED THE REAR BRAKES DID NOT ADJUST. THE DEALER INDICATED THE REAR BRAKES NEED TO BE ADJUSTED. THE DEALER INDICATED, HE WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE THEM ADJUSTED. HOWEVER, IT APPEARED THE DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE REAR BRAKES WERE SUPPOSE TO AUTOMATICALLY ADJUST, UPON BACKING UP. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED ONE DAY WHILE DRIVING, HE HEARD A LOUD SOUND. SOON AFTER, ABOUT 1/2 GALLON OF WATER SPILLED ONTO THE PASSENGER FLOOR AND THEN CONTINUED TO DRIP DOWN THE BLOWER MOTOR/ THE DEALER STATED THE AC DRAIN EVAPORATOR BOX FILLED UP FROM THE OUTSIDE DRAIN. SUSPENSION SOUNDS LIKE WE ARE BOTTOMING THE CAR OUT ALL THE TIME. IT CAN HAPPEN ANYTIME WE MEET A CROOK IN THE ROAD. SOUNDS LIKE THE CAR IS GOING TO BREAK IN HALF. WE FEEL THIS PROBLEM COULD END UP RESULTING IN A CATASTROPHIC DISASTER. TOOK IT IN AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THE BATTERY BRACKET (WHICH IS LOCATED IN THE TRUNK, WHO WOULD'VE THOUGHT) WAS LOOSE AND THE FUEL PROTECTOR BRACKET WAS LOOSE (ON THE FRONT OF THE CAR). THE DEALERSHIP TIGHTENED THE BRACKETS AND SAID ALL WAS FIXED. WE DROVE OUT OF THE PARKING LOT AND WE STILL HEARD THE PROBLEM. WE HAVE CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT BACK AND THEY SAID, "IT'S GOTTA BE SOMETHING ELSE!" WE HAVE ALSO BEEN PUTTING IN COMPLAINTS ON THE COMFORT OF THIS VEHICLE. IF YOU PLAN ON TRAVELING FOR MORE THAN 10 MILES AT A TIME, DO NOT PURCHASE A 2010 CHEVROLET COBALT LT2. OUR DAUGHTER IN WHICH IS ONLY 25 YRS OLD COULDN'T EVEN RIDE IN THIS CAR FOR 20 MINUTES WITHOUT GETTING A BACKACHE. THESE CARS ARE HORRIBLE IN THE WINTER SNOW AND ICE. THEY ARE OF NO COMPARISON TO THE ORIGINAL CHEVROLET CAVALIER. THEY REALLY SHOULD LOOK INTO GOING BACK TO THOSE LITTLE CARS, FOR THEY ARE GREAT LITTLE CARS ALL THE WAY AROUND. I HAVE A 2002, AND AM SO HAPPY I STILL HAVE IT. I AM TRYING TO TRADE THE COBALT BACK IN AND GMAC IS TELLING US THAT WE WILL HAVE A HIGH PERCENTAGE RATE BECAUSE WE HAVEN'T HAD THE CAR FOR A YEAR. WELL WE DON'T WANT THIS LITTLE ICE SKATE, IT IS SO UNSAFE. WHO WOULD WANT TO KEEP AN UNSAFE VEHICLE? I THINK THEY SHOULD REALLY START INVESTIGATED THE SUSPENSION ISSUES SINCE UPON OUR RESEARCH, WE'VE FOUND THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE 2006, AND NOBODY CAN FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIX IT. I PURCHASED A G.M. CHEVY COBALT LT. 2010 ON AUG. 30. ON CLEARANCE SALES. AND THEN I FOUND THAT THE CAR?S DOOR AJAR SENSOR DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. ALL SENSORS OF THE DOORS DIDN'T WORK UNTIL THE DOOR WAS OPENED OVER 5 INCHES. I VISITED A DEALER SHOP, AND ASKED TO FIX IT. A SALES PERSON KNEW THAT ALL COBALT LTS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AFTER CHECKING OTHER VEHICLES. ALSO, ALL TECHNICIANS HAD NOT KNOWN THE PROBLEM UNTIL MY CLAIM. AFTER SEARCHING, A TECHNICIAN SAID TO ME ?IT CAN?T FIXED, USUALLY OTHER VEHICLES ARE INSTALLED TWO SENSORS EACH DOOR, BUT THE COBALT HAS ONLY ONE.? ABOUT 10 DAYS LATER, SERVICE MANAGER HAD TRIED TO ADJUST ALL SENSORS AND TOLD ME "IT IS FIXED PERMANENTLY." BUT 2 WEEKS LATER, DRIVER'S SIDE SENSOR CAME OUT FROM THE VEHICLE, FROM TIME TO TIME THE DOOR AJAR SIGN SHOWS UP ON THE DASH BOARD WITH DING! DING! SOUNDS. EVEN THOUGH ALL DOORS ARE CLOSED COMPLETELY, IT'S A VERY FUNNY CAR! I VISITED G.M. DEALER SHOP AGAIN. THEY TRIED TO REPLACE THE SENSOR, DIDN'T, BECAUSE I WANT TO FIX IT THE PROPER WAY, NOT A TEMPORARY NOR TRICKY WAY. MY WIFE AND I DROVE ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE A REAR DOOR WAS AJAR WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE CONTACT PUSHED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND HAD IT TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP. THE DEALER REPLACED THE BATTERY AND THE ALTERNATOR. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, THE ANTENNA FELL OFF WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ALSO BECAME WARPED AND HAD A GAP. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE CUP HOLDER BROKE OFF AND SHE WAS AFRAID THAT HER CHILD WOULD PUT HER HAND IN THE AREA WHICH WAS ON TOP OF THE SHIFTER. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THE BRAKES SOUNDED LOUD. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 500. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 6,800.
