Wheels on these cars commonly crack and break online. Mine have a visible crack in one of them and is losing air due to quality of wheel from Chevrolet

Inside lip of rear wheel cracked and wheel bent beyond repair, per wheel repair company. OEM make and model tire was in place and no noticeable impact was felt to cause this failure. This caused an air leak leaving me stranded at the side of the highway. Had to buy an expensive replacement wheel.

Vehicle had a shake, and felt like it was shifting wrong. Apparently, Two of the four rims have were confirmed cracked which led to an unsafe vehicle for travel. The vehicle had approximately 15,230 miles on the tires and rims when air was leaking out. All four tires were shot. All four tires and all four rims had to be replaced.

Purchased the vehicle February 2018. In September 2019, I replaced the tires and within a few days, I started losing air pressure. Both rear wheels cracked. I tried to get GM to honor the 36 month bumper to bumper warranty but they refused. I purchased replacement wheels at my own expense. In June 2022, after 9000 miles, the car started driving rough so I brought it to the dealership. Both the driver side wheels, front and back, are bent.

SERVICE BRAKES
2 complaints
THE BRAKES HAVE NOW FOUR TIMES FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. WHEN PRESSED THEY GET HARD, THEN GO DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND THERE'S A PULSATING FEELING. THE VEHICLE JUST CONTINUES TO GO TO THE FLOOR. ON THE THIRD OCCASION THAT IT HAPPENED, THE VEHICLE IN A NON-EMERGENCY SITUATION, WOULD NOT STOP IN TRAFFIC AND REAR-ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. IT IS DANGEROUS AND GM IS NO HELP.

TWO BRAKE ROTORS ON 2018 CORVETTE GRAND SPORT HAVE PERMANENT RUST BANDS THAT DO NOT WEAR OFF UNDER BRAKING. THEY ARE SCORING AND GROOVING THE BRAKE PADS INSTEAD. GM BLAMES THE DEALER FOR POOR MAINTENANCE BUT NEITHER WILL REPLACE BECAUSE THEY SAY IT'S ONLY 'COSMETIC' ACCORDING TO THEM. THEY DID ADVISE ME TO REPLACE THE ROTORS MYSELF AT A COST OF $4000 ON A BRAND NEW CAR! IT HAS HAD THE BAND SINCE DAY 1! WHEN THE CAR IS WASHED OR THE ROTOR GETS WET IT FUSES TO THE PADS AND LOCKS THE WHEEL. YOU HAVE TO ROCK THE CAR GET IT TO BREAK LOOSE. THEY KEEP REFERENCING A GM SERVICE BULLETIN THAT PROHIBITS DEALERS FROM REPLACING OR RESURFACING RUSTED ROTORS. THIS IS NOT NORMAL SURFACE RUST. IT IS PERMANENT AND IS COMPROMISING THE BRAKE PADS! THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY CONCERN.

Multiple rim cracks due to manufacturing error. General Motors had acknowledged this but not made reimbursement possible nor provided information if defective rims are still being produced. My car was inspected and rim was repaired by a Chevy dealer and confirmed to have a cracked rim in several spots deemed not due to road damage or driver error. Wheel issues can pose an extreme safety threat as a crack in the rim could make the tire unstable thus creating unsafe driving conditions … cracks in rims can be hard to see at all as well

STEERING
1 complaint
I ATTENDED A TWO-DAY NCM TRACK EVENT AT VIR IN JUNE 2019. DURING THE SECOND SESSION ON DAY TWO MY 2018 Z06 HAD A POWER STEERING ISSUE. WITHOUT ANY WARNING, I FELT AND HEARD A LOUD THUMP THROUGH THE STEERING WHEEL AS I APPROACHED TURN 3 FROM NO-NAME, I HAD VERY LITTLE STEERING ABILITY THAT REQUIRED HEAVY HANDED INPUT ON THE STEERING WHEEL CAUSING ME TO LIFT AND BRAKE TO KEEP THE CAR FROM RUNNING OFF THE TRACK. THEN I RECEIVED A DIC MESSAGE ON THE DASH TO 'SERVICE POWER STEERING GEAR.' I COME IN TO LET THE CAR COOL DOWN AND WENT BACK OUT LATER WITH NO ISSUES BUT WAS NOT RUNNING HAS HARD AS BEFORE. THIS POWER STEERING OVERHEATING ISSUE IS VERY CONCERNING WHEN ON THE TRACK APPROACHING A TURN GOING 70 TO 80 MPH. THE OUTSIDE TEMP WAS 90 DEGREES AND THE COOLING SYSTEM WAS RUNNING AROUND 240 DEGREES. THERE IS A GM PRELIMINARY INFORMATION ABOUT REDUCTION IN STEERING ASSIST WHILE DRIVING ON THE TRACK DURING HOT DAYS. BULLETIN NO.: PI1535B DATE: NOV-2017 THAT REQUIRES TO INSTALL A NEW POWER STEERING GEAR COOLING DUCT FOR 2014-2018 CHEVROLET CORVETTE.
