The turbo has gone out twice, it was replaced under an extended warranty policy and it has gone out again and is out of warranty, also the plastic intake manifold has gone bad again. also there is a plastic piece that comes off the engine and distributes coolant to the heater core etc...it has gone bad as well and is common on all 1.4 turbos..

Defouw Chevrolet was negligent in performing the proper repairs per a GM service bulletin and special coverage. They refused to provide service, falsely claimed that I refused diagnostic, misdiagnosed the vehicle, replaced the wrong part, and were extremely rude and misogynistic. Additionally, they claim the issues were pre-existing while lacking any evidence. As a result, the vehicle now needs $6,400 in repairs, and neither GM nor Defouw will compensate us. Additionally, we have incurred $1,000 in towing costs, among other expenses.

There is currently a recall for Chevrolet Cruzes because of overheating, that is caused by the cooling system and the antifreeze leaking out at the thermostat housing. This is exactly what happened to my 2016 Cruze as we drove down the highway and warning lights and sounds started going off that required it to be put in the shop (Local Chevy Dealer) and have these parts replaced. If you read the safety recall for this issue on the Chevy Cruze and look at my receipt it is almost the same wording. However, the dealer told me that my Chevy Cruze was NOT covered by the recall. I believe the recall should be expanded to include all Cruzes.

I have been taking a burning smell emanating from the vehicle. When I took vehicle in for servicing last week, I was told that the smell was as a result of an engine leak. I was informed that my vehicle was not the first of the same make and model that the service center has seen in recent weeks. Worried that this could be an issue can lead to a fire. Planning on having repairs done, but would like to know whether this is something that can be investigated to determine whether it is a manufacturer defect.

The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed, and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was restarted after two attempts. The check engine warning light was illuminated during the failure. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the catalytic converter and Oxygen sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 97,800.

My husband was driving and noticed smoke coming from the engine so we pulled over and he lifted the hood and when he did we clearly saw a part of the Bosch manifold absolute pressure map sensor had come off and appeared to have melted off. I have taken it to a mechanic and have photos to show the exact parts.

I have a 2016 cheavy cruise. It keeps overheating I have replaced the thermostat and thermostat housing and still have had issues with it overheating. I have done research and several cruises with this year have had the same issues.

The turbo is messed up my car would not pull when stepping on the gas. Almost got in an accident on the freeway and hood started smoking. Spoke to a mechanic and said it was due to the turbo charger

There was a recall on leaking antifreeze for previous Chevy Cruze years but that is also happening with my 2016 Cruze in the same way. My car would not warm up in the cold and would not clear the sight of my windshield over the ice, I waited about an hour for the sun due to lack of heat. While on my way my car then overheated while on the highway which created an even bigger safety issue. The problem has been recalled before on different Cruze year types, my mom had a 2013 Cruze with the same issue I am experiencing. It has not been inspected yet by those listed but when I add more coolant it is empty within an hour of just sitting there. The only light is when it was overheating, but I’ve been having to refill my antifreeze repeatedly and unsure as to why until I discovered the previous recall information and it sounded like my exact issue.

I HAVE A 2016 CHEVY CRUSE WITH 70,000 MILES AND AS OF 3-4-2021 I HAVE A CRACK ENGINE BLOCK. MY CAR AS BEEN SERVICED ACCORDING TO BOOKLET.I HAVE CALLED DANVERS CHEVROLET WHERE CAR WAS PURCHASED AND THEY ARE UNWILLING TO HELP. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AND I AM DISAPPOINTED THAT HERB CHAMBERS SELLS CUSTOMERS CARS THAT BREAK DOWN AFTER WARRANTY. CUSTOMER SERVICE AND MODEL OF CAR WAS DECISIVE IN MY PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE. MY EXPECTATIONS OF HERB CHAMBERS CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A LETDOWN. I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED WHILE DRIVING WHEN THE CAR DIED IN THE BOURNE ROTARY

Hit a buck on highway. When airbags went off I felt sudden sharp pain in my left arm. I was later advised that it most likely was shrapnel from the airbag. It was obvious from the injury something hit my arm with a lot of force. The car was a total loss and in possession of insurance company. Concerned that it could have been my eye.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer that stated that the front passenger side air bags needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 137,000.

System failure…airbag light continues to come on and go off. It says service airbag. If John Elway Chevrolet repairs the airbag system will it impact the integrity of the airbags. The airbag light doesn’t say which airbag is defective. I want to make sure that my family and I are safe when we are in the car.

My 21 yr old daughter was in serious accident May 3. 2022 on the way to her college. The accident was horrific. Her left hand middle finger was impaled by a piece of metal L shaped. The hospital said it was an airbag pin. She was covered in cuts and injuries but her finger/ hand were the worst by far. She has had a surgery and will need additional surgeries. I would like it looked into please. I was very grateful it wasn’t her eye or neck.

As a result, the contact had whiplash to the neck and the front seat passenger head hit the windshield and whiplash to the neck. Medical attention was required. A police report was filed. My tire pressure sensor keeps coming on even after I had it worked on. 3 of them shows the pressure level but one shows 2 lines but no pressure level but there’s air in the tire. The other problem I’m having is the check engine light is on. Please advise if any issues are recalls or do I need to take my car to a service center. Thank you

NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE SHORTED OUT, FAILING A MAIN FUSE AND THE STARTER. CAR TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN I-5. WE WERE ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO RESTART ONE TIME, THEN ONCE WE WERE TO A SAFE PLACE TO PULL OVER TURNED OFF THE CAR AND THE ELECTRICAL IN THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN OFF (STEREO, LIGHTS, ETC..) PUSH BUTTON START IN CAR. ONCE WE FINALLY GOT EVERYTHING TO TURN OFF THE CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN AND WAS TOWED TO THE REPAIR SHOP.

Component or System Failed/Malfunctioned: The turbocharger has been identified by a GM service center as the component that failed or malfunctioned. It is available for inspection upon request at the service center where the diagnosis was made. Safety Risk: The safety of myself and others was compromised due to the vehicle stalling unexpectedly while driving. This resulted in potential rear-end collisions, as well as the inability to accelerate, posing a risk in traffic situations. Confirmation by Dealer or Independent Service Center: Yes, the issue has been confirmed by a GM service center where the turbocharger was diagnosed as the problem. They provided a repair estimate of $2,170 for the turbocharger replacement. Inspections by Manufacturer, Police, Insurance, etc.: The vehicle has been inspected by a GM service center, but it has not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or other independent parties beyond the GM service center. Warning Lamps, Messages, Symptoms: Prior to the vehicle stalling, warning messages such as "Service Stabilitrak" appeared on the dashboard. These messages were accompanied by engine shaking, and the car did not respond to acceleration attempts. These symptoms first appeared just before each incident of stalling.

My vehicle gives the message "shift to park" even when it placed in park, making it impossible to lock and possibly causing the battery to run down. Continuing to restart the vehicle and placing in park until the message goes away has been my only resolution. The issue has been reproduced by an independent service center. They were unable to ascertain what was causing the issue. I am aware a recall was issued for this problem in earlier model Chevy Cruzes. It seems my vehicle should have also been included in this recall. It is evident this has been a huge problems in GM vehicles and when it continues to affect later vehicles it should be addressed and corrected by the company.

My daughter was driving the car and she said that he check engine light came on and she pulled over and turned it off. She immediately called her dad and while on the phone with him the car started shaking and it over heated and all the fluids were underneath the car. I arrived about 15 mins later and saw all the over spill on the side of the road. Called a tow truck and had it towed to a dealership, which told us that GM is aware of the problem with the Chevy Cruze engine doing this. They said that there is no way for you to tell that the part is going bad til it happens and once it does the car gets so hot it crack the head gasket. It is a 3500.00 fix and it is all because of the thermostat at the bottom of the engine. We had it fixed at 93.000 miles and it now has 110,000 and we are now having the turbo replaced and the dealership said it is a known problem but GM isnt willing to do a recall because it cost so much to fix but they are aware of the problem with then engines in the 2014 to 2016 cruze and since they arent made to fix it they pass the cost on to the customer.

Issue has been reported by other owners, code PIP5558C Around 60k miles, clutch pedal started sticking to the floor and not returning unless manually lifted. By 118k miles issue had worsened to the point that car was no longer driveable. Clutch master cylinder was damaged/degraded, as well as clutch slave. Brake system lifespan was likely shortened, and I luckily didn't have a complete brake failure as has happened with others.

I was driving the car, stopped at a light took my foot off the brake started to move and the car completely shut off. No warning lights went on. I had to start the car again. I took the car to a local dealership to be looked at. They pulled the codes, nothing showed up. I did an internet search for a possible cause, sent my search results to the dealership and I asked them to check the fuel system, they found a bad injector. They then cleaned the fuel system and replaced the bad injector.

Stability Track came on randomly all of sudden car was stalling, running poorly and smell Gas , sure enough leaking Gas Everywhere, very dangerous. Lucky car did not catch on fire. I am still paying for this car. Just thankful no one got injured. THERE IS NO RECALLS FOR THIS VIN ABSOLUTELY SHOULD BE.

I PURCHASED A 2016 CHEVROLET CRUZE WITH AN AUTO STOP FEATURE. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AS A USED VEHICLE IN AUGUST OF 2019. AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE, IT HAD 70,000 MILES ON IT. LESS THAN TWO MONTH INTO HAVING THE VEHICLE, THE CAR STARTED SHUTTING OFF EACH TIME I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE CAR MOVING AGAIN WAS BY PLACING IT IN PARK AND RESTARTING THE VEHICLE. THIS ISSUE OCCURS IN ALL SETTINGS INCLUDING CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS. I HAVE TO BE IN TRAFFIC IN ORDER FOR THE ISSUE TO PRESENT ITSELF ON THE HIGHWAY. THE ISSUE PRESENTS ITSELF ON THE STREET ANYTIME I STOP AT A LIGHT, STOP SIGN, OR YIELD TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. IT HAS DONE THIS HUNDREDS OF TIMES TO DATE. I TOOK THE CAR TO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP IN OCTOBER OF 2019 SHORTLY AFTER THE ISSUE BEGAN. A REPRESENTATIVE EXPLAINED THAT THIS HAPPENED BECAUSE THE AUTO-STOP COMPONENT WASN'T ABLE TO RECEIVE ENOUGH POWER TO STAY ON. I HAD THE COMPONENT REPLACED OUT OF POCKET, SINCE MY WARRANTY DIDN'T COVER. THE SAME DAY I DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME, THE ISSUE PERSISTED. SINCE THEN, I HAVE ALSO HAD THE BATTERY REPLACED. AS OF NOVEMBER 2020, THE CAR IS STILL EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES, COUPLED WITH A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THAT COMES ON AND GOES OFF EACH TIME RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE TECHNICIANS HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO PROPERLY DIAGNOSE THIS VEHICLE'S ISSUE AFTER MULTIPLE VISITS. MUCH OF MY TIME AND MONEY HAS BEEN WASTED TRYING TO FIX A VEHICLE WITH NO ACTIVE RECALLS. THIS IS ALSO THE SECOND TIME I AM FILING A COMPLAINT WITH THE NHTSA.

THE WHOLE ENGINE WENT OUT AND THE AUTO REPAIR SHOP THAT I TOOK IT TOO IS SAYING THE WHOLE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I'M ALSO NOT THE ONLY WHO IS HAVING THIS PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR. WHAT IS GOING ON IS THAT THE ENGINE IS ALWAYS OVERHEATING AND HAVING PROBLEMS.

CAR STALLS AT INTERSECTIONS. THE AUTO STOP FEATURE GOES FROM "AUTO STOP" ON THE DASH TO "OFF". PROBLEM OCCURS AS YOU ARE MOVING FOOT OVER FROM BRAKE TO GAS AND CAUSES THE CAR TO TURN OFF. HAVE TO PUT CAR IN PARK AND COMPLETELY RESTART THE ENGINE BY TURNING THE CAR OFF AND THEN BACK ON. TYPICALLY HAPPENS WHEN IN AN INTERSECTION/AT A STOP SIGN AND HAVE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. HAS HAPPENED BEFORE IN MANY SETTINGS- CITY STOP LIGHT, CITY STOP SIGN, HIGHWAY TRAFFIC, HIGHWAY STOP SIGN, ETC. SUPER UNSAFE BECAUSE CAR IS UNABLE TO MOVE AND SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS. HAPPENS AT LEAST 1 TIME A DAY. MANY OTHER CHEVROLET CRUZE USERS HAVE BEEN POSTING IN FORUMS THAT IT HAS HAPPENED TO THEM AS WELL. COULD CAUSE ACCIDENTS. MAKES THE DRIVER FEEL UNSAFE AND UNEASY EVERY TIME THEY GET IN THE CAR TO DRIVE BECAUSE THERE IS A FEAR THAT IT WILL STALL OUT/BREAK DOWN AT EVERY INTERSECTION OR STOP THAT IS MADE THROUGHOUT THE DRIVE.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS WHEN I HEARD A POP. I WAS GOING DOWN A STEEP HILL AND PICKING UP SPEED AND THE SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST LIGHT CAME ON. I TRIED TO SLOW DOWN THE CAR BUT IT WAS NOT SLOWING G DOWN. I STARTED PUMPING THE BRAKES AND SAW I WASN'T SLOWING DOWN FAST ENOUGH. LUCKILY THERE WAS A RUN AWAY TRUCK RAMP SO I SWERVED INTO A CONSTRUCTION ZONE AND ONTO THE TRUCK RAMP. ONCE I WAS SLOWING DOWN FINALLY I PUT ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND CAME TO A SCREECHING HALT.

WAS GETTING READY TO LEAVE THE HOUSE TO GO TO THE STORE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME HARD AFTER STARTING THE ENGINE. FEELS LIKE THE BRAKE HAS A LOSS OF THE POWER ASSIST. AFTER STARTING THE CAR, PUT IT IN DRIVE, RELEASE THE BRAKE, VEHICLE BEGINS TO MOVE, APPLY BRAKE, BRAKE PEDAL WAS VERY HARD WITH EXCESSIVE FORCE NEEDED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THIS JUST HAPPENED OUT OF NO WHERE. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THE SAME THING OCCURRED ON 2013-2014 MODELS.

The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated while driving on several occasions at various speeds, the steering wheel pulled to the left forcibly. The contact also stated that the vehicle was oversteered, and the wheel made the vehicle move in a straight line. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the inner tie rod had separated from the steering gear and both inner tie rods and tires needed to be replaced. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V442000 (Steering). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 61,000.

Power steering warning keeps coming and going, replaced battery didn't fix saw a lot of complaints about negative battery cable so replaced that and it fixed the issue. cruze's up to 2015 recalled this the 2016 obviously needs it too.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 28,650.

The contact stated while accelerating above 35 MPH, the Service Stabil Trak and powertrain control module (PCM) warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the powertrain control module (PCM) failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 92,000.

HAD IT TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP AND CONFIRMED PISTON/CYLINDER PROBLEM, WHICH WILL REQUIRE A COMPLETELY NEW ENGINE. BOUGHT IT USED IN 2018 (WITH 54K MILES) FROM A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF SERVICE BULLETIN PIP5421; AND THE MFG'ERS WARRANTY IS NO LONGER VALID AS THERE IS OVER 90K MILES (BUT STILL WITHIN 5 YEARS). THE INTAKE MANIFOLD BLEW OUT IT'S SENSOR. NOT LIKE IT JUST WENT OUT, BUT SOME HOW PRESSURE BUILT UP AND BLEW IT OUT OF THE MANIFOLD. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THE REPRESENTATIVE AT THE DEALERSHIP JUST TOLD ME OVER THE PHONE. CAR IS AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT BECAUSE OF THE ONGOING ISSUES WITH THE TURBO AND THE MISSING BOLTS AND THE FACT THAT THIS ENGINE WAS OBVIOUSLY A FAULTY BUILD, AS GM HAS ALREADY ACKNOWLEDGED. I AM TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THIS CAR AND I STILL OWE ON IT. SO NOW WITH THE INTAKE MANIFOLD BLOWING UP AND A LEAKING VALVE COVER....I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW GM ISN'T RESPONSIBLE FOR GETTING THESE CARS OFF THE ROAD. MY VALVE COVER HAS WENT BAD AND STARTED LEAKING OIL AROUND MY SPARK PLUGS. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION OF MY OWN I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE FOR MANY YEAR MODELS OF THE CHEVY CRUZE. MY VALVE COVER IS AN UPDATED VERSION OF THE PLASTIC ON THE 2015 AND OLDER AND IS NOW A METAL ONE. I SPOKE WITH A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO INFORMED ME HE HAS REPLACED 75 NEW VALVE COVERS THAT GENERAL MOTORS HAS BUILT A NEW VALVE COVER TO REPLACE THE METAL ONE ON MY CAR. ALSO THIS METAL VALVE COVER HAS CAUSED MY CAR TO START SMOKING HEAVILY WHEN I DROVE IT TO MAKE ME HAVE TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED HOME UNTIL I CAN GET THE ISSUE FIXED.

SO I DROVE HOME AND PARKED THE CAR AND WAITED UNTIL IT WAS COOLED DOWN AND OPENED THE HOOD TO CHECK MY OIL. I UNSCREWED THE OIL CAP WHERE YOU ADD OIL AND IT COMPLETELY SMELLED LIKE GASOLINE. NOW THE ENGINE IS STARTING TO GO CRAZY AND I AM TAKING IT IN BEFORE IT CATCHES FIRE AND PUTS ME AND ANYONE ELSE IN DANGER.

The water pump leaks which will cause the vehicle to heat up. There is a recall on the same vehicles for prior years and it's the same parts. For some reason later years weren't added to the recall, but they are also defective. It is available for inspection, but I need to get it fixed quickly before it harms my engine. It is a 2016 model and have had it fixed once already while under warranty. I have not had any warning lights yet, but I noticed it leaking like the first time it happened. It puts my safety at risk if I get stranded somewhere because I can't drive my car home. I live in the desert and it's 100 degrees out most of the time which can cause heat stroke quickly. I have not taken it to the dealer, but I would rather use non dealer parts at this point or I will have to do this possibly again in a couple of years when it fails again. The vehicle has not been inspected yet, but it's the same thing as the first time. Same place.

I have a Chevy Cruze LT 1.4 l turbo engine and it has an exhaust leak by the manifold or the Cadillac converter is not working, a mechanic we took it to has confirmed that one of the hoses going into the Cadillac converter burst due to the Cadillac converter not working properly today is October 2nd it happened three days ago from today I have talked to other Chevy Cruze owners and confirmed the day also had the same problem I heard there is a recall for this problem on 2016 Chevy cruise so I would like to know if my car is on that recall list so I can go and get it fixed I have $133,000 miles on my car so it's not under the manufacturer's warranty anymore it is a very pricey repair which I do not have the money for due to the pandemic as we all know so please contact me through my email you guys have onfile and also because of this problem I cannot work I use my car for work,My car is a 2016 Chevy Cruze LT with a 1.4 L turbo engine thank you

BEFORE LEAVING WORK, I TURNED ON MY CAR FOR ABOUT TEN MINUTES TO WARM UP. WHEN I ENTERED THE CAR TO LEAVE WORK, I WAS OVERCOME WITH THE SMELL OF WHAT I THOUGHT WAS GASOLINE. I DROVE LIKE NORMAL ON MY WAY HOME, ROLLING THE WINDOW DOWN TO GET RID OF THE SMELL, AND I ALSO THOUGHT SOME SMOKE OR HAZE MAY HAVE ENTERED MY CAR, ALTHOUGH IT WAS DARK AND FOGGY SO I CANNOT BE SURE. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, MY CAR'S (2016 CHEVY CRUZE) OIL LIGHT CAME ON. IT GAVE ME AN URGENT MESSAGE OF "LOW OIL PRESSURE- STOP ENGINE" AND BEEPED CONTINUOUSLY, WHILE A THICK SMELL OF OIL FILLED THE CAR. I AM VERY LUCKY THAT I WAS NEAR AN EXIT AND I PULLED OFF IMMEDIATELY INTO A GROCERY STORE PARKING LOT. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED AND LATER THAT WEEK, I LEARNED THAT MY CAR HAD LEAKED 3.3 QUARTS OF OIL, LEAVING ME WITH 1.25 QUARTS. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT I WAS LUCKY I PULLED OFF WHEN I DID, AND THAT THERE WAS A SERIOUS RISK OF ENGINE DAMAGE. HE ALSO LET ME KNOW THAT ANOTHER CAR, SAME MAKE AND MODEL, WAS ALSO IN THE SHOP WITH THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM, AND THAT THAT CAR'S ENGINE HAD TO BE REPLACED. RECEIVED FIRST INSPECTION, LEAVING THE DEALER, THE CAR SMELLED OF POSSIBLY A BURNING OR SOMETHING UNKNOWN. I DID NOT ASSUME THIS WASN'T NORMAL AS THEY HAD TO CHECK SEVERAL THINGS FOR THE INSPECTION. I HAD TO DRIVE VEHICLE WITH OPEN WINDOWS FOR A FEW DAYS. BUT I THOUGHT THAT PERHAPS WHILE CHECKING THE OIL THEY MAY HAVE GOTTEN SOME ON THE ENGINE OR SOMETHING. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE CAR WAS MAKING A CLANK SOUND WHEN DRIVE GEAR ENGAGED FROM FULL STOP. 11 DAYS LATER, STARTED THE CAR AND IT HAD REVVED OVER 4000 RPM. STOPPED ITSELF WITHIN SEVERAL SECONDS. FOOT WAS STILL ON THE BRAKE. DROVE 5 MILES, STOPPED AND PARKED VEHICLE. RETURNING HOME, ON A HIGHWAY, MY CAR SUDDENLY WENT OVER 4000 RPM AGAIN WHILE NOT ACCELERATING EXCESSIVELY, FLAT AND STRAIGHT ROADWAY, OVERCAST DAY, MID AFTERNOON. WAS DOING @54 MILES MPH. AT THE HIGH REV, THE CAR HAD STOPPED ITS MOMENTUM AND WAS SLOWING DOWN, BUT THE RPM DID NOT. THE CAR WENT THROUGH SEVERAL GEARS THEN ORIENTED ITSELF MANY SECONDS LATER. RECOVERY SPEED WAS 42 MPH. IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALER AND SCHEDULED A DROP OFF. HAS @10,000 MILES ON IT. MOSTLY HIGHWAY DRIVING, A FEW DAYS A WEEK. OTHERWISE IT IS PARKED. At first, and only on cold/rainy/snowy weather, while driving the radio would randomly turn off and turn itself back on (i have videos of this). Sometimes it would last a few seconds, sometimes a few minutes. While this was happening, the blinker sounds wouldn't work. I brought it to Chevy in Geneva, NY for diagnostics. No check engine codes ever. They told me that the radio computer needed to be updated. I had them fix it, only to find out that the problem would still happen. Over a few months, it developed more symptoms. It started to not shut off when I pushed the button, and it also started stalling when it went into auto off, but would turn back on if I put it in park and re started. At first it would stall in auto off at random times. This caused an accident in the summer of 2019. I was at a stop sign, waiting to make a right hand turn, took my foot off the brake and car stalled. The car behind me thought I was going and rear ended me. I had to drive around in the summer with the heat on, as it was the only way to prevent the car from going into auto off. I had the car looked at a few more times after that (paying $100 diagnostic fees every time). Brought it back to chevy and the told me it was because of the damage to my trunk allowing water to get to the battery (it wasn't). Issues then turned into stalling at auto off, but not turning back on once in park. I brought it to the dealership I bought it from and they looked at the alternator and had them clean all battery terminals and replace the battery. This worked for 2 weeks before continuing. It got to the point that I had to jump start my car everytime I wanted to drive it or it stalled. Finally it just wouldnt start, So i had it towed to chevy again in 2021. They determined the issue was the starter and replaced. It worked but as of now (9/13/23) my car has began stalling at auto off. It is very dangerous, car gives no warning!! There is too much to say with limited space

1st of all the motor was running g great! Then all of a sudden it started running rough and shaking. Was driving on the highway at 65 mph.no warni g lights or anything. Then a warning light came on for the brakes and it was hard to stop. The vacuum pump went out for the brakes and almost ended up in the ditch. Well put a vacuum pump on it and that fixed that problem but it was missing like crazy. Had it checked out and here the #1cylinder piston broke apart. Now it needs a motor. Almost cost me my life on that one.Motor is not cheap and don't know if it is worth it. I have been reading alot on them and people are having to change motors at 8,000 miles and sometimes twice in the same car before 18,000 miles. Don't you think there is something wrong with that?

MY ENGINE WILL JUST SHUT OFF RANDOMLY, WITH NO WARNING AT ALL. I HAVE TOOK IT INTO DEALER BECASE IT WAS STILL COVERED UNTIL POWERTRAIN, OF COURSE THEY FOUND NOTHING AFTER HAVING MY CAR FOR 4 DAYS. MY CAR SHUTS OFF ON THE HIGHWAY, IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC, OR WHILE COMING OFF THE HIGHWAY WITH CARS TRAILING BEHIND ME. IT SHUTS OFF SITTING AT RED LIGHTS, WHEN THE AUTO START COMES BACK ON IT NEVER FULLY WILL COME BACK ON, AND JUST COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF. IN WHICH I HAVE TO PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND START THE CAR AGAIN, AND AT TIMES IT DOESN'T START RIGHT AWAY! My car was brought to the dealership around December of 2021because every time I stop at a red light or stop sign the auto stop would cut the car completely off. The dealership said it was because the throttle body needed cleaning out. That is not the case because I can be driving and the car will cut off out of nowhere while driving. Also at times the car seems as if it doesn’t want to crank.

AFTER REPAIRING THE COOLANT SYSTEM CAR, I DROVE IT AROUND THE BLOCK TO ENSURE IT WAS WORKING PROPERLY. UPON DOING SO, ALL GAUGES STOPPED WORKING. I ALSO PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE TO PARK IT IN THE DRIVEWAY AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT GO INTO THE SELECTED GEAR. WE HAD TO PUT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL AND PUSH IT INTO THE DRIVEWAY. While at red light, stop signs, or transitioning turns, the engine shuts off and does not restart. Sometimes it shuts down when driving at extremely low speeds. This is dangerous because I have had to push the car while transitioning in multipile lane intersections. Luckily others stop and help me push the car to shoulder or convenience gas stations. The battery and spark plugs are new, and the car has plenty of fuel.

THE TOW THAT AAA PROVIDED AND MY MECHANIC WHERE MY CAR WAS TOWED TO BOTH TOLD ME AT SEPARATE TIMES THAT MY AC BEING ON MADE THE PROBLEM WITH MY ENGINE WORSEN. MY MECHANIC ACTUALLY TOLD ME TO NOT TURN ON MY AC AS I WAS DRIVING IT OUT OF HIS GARAGE TO TAKE TO A CHEVY DEALER. AN ADVISOR AT THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THE TWO, THE ENGINE AND THE AC, ARE APART FROM EACH OTHER AND THE AC SHOULD NOT BE AFFECTING THE ENGINE IN THIS MANNER. HAVE HAD NO SPILLS IN THAT AREA. SOON AFTER THIS VISIT MY CAR WOULD TURN OFF IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. DEALERSHIP SAID THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE ISSUE SO THEY COULDN'T TELL ME WHAT IT WAS. NOW, NOT MUCH LATER THAN THE LAST VISIT, MY CAR IS SHUTTING OFF ON THE INTERSTATE, EVERY LIGHT INSIDE CAR (DOOR OPEN LIGHTS, RADIO LIGHTS, A/C LIGHTS, DASH LIGHTS) ARE DIMMING AND BRIGHTENING OR TURNING ON AND OFF ON THEIR OWN, WINDOWS ROLL UP AND DOWN ON THEIR OWN, A/C SHUTS ON AND OFF OR WILL CHANGE VENTS ON ITS OWN, BURGLAR SYSTEM DETECTION GOES OFF WHEN TRYING TO START THE CAR, AND CAR WON'T START AFTER BEING OFF FOR 20-30 MINUTES WITHOUT A JUMP. THREE DIFFERENT PLACES HAVE USED BATTERY AND CODE READERS AND CANNOT FIND AN ISSUE. MY BATTERY, STARTER, AND ALTERNATOR ARE IN GREAT CONDITION. DURING THE FIRST INCIDENT I WAS ABLE HIT THE GAS PEDAL WITH MY FOOT AND IT RELEASED, DURING THE SECOND ACCELERATION INCIDENT, I TRIED TO UNSEAT THE PEDAL WITH MY FOOT TO NO AVAIL, I THEN PUSHED THE SHIFTER TO NEUTRAL AND THE ACCELERATOR DISLODGED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO FISHER CHEVROLET ON MAY 10TH AND THEY ROAD TESTED THE CAR AND WERE UNABLE TO "VERIFY THE CONCERN." Purchased a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze on [XXX]. [XXX]. As of July 26th I paid $862 on repairs for the car to be smoking this morning on my way to work [XXX]. In total I’ve spent Almost or close to $2,000 in car repairs. This purchase was for my 17 year old daughter as a graduation present and for college. She was driving and car started to run hot and cut off in a busy intersection. She was unable to take the car to North Carolina. The owner blocked me and the staff haven’t been accommodating since this process. Nor will they look at the car. This has put me in a financial burden and the safety conditions this vehicle is under. On [XXX], the right front passenger side control arm/ball joint broke as my daughters were driving home. The car was in motion on a major street in Kansas City, KS when the control arm/ball joint broke. My daughter was in the right-hand lane when it broke as the car was in motion. The front of the car forcefully propelled in the air, landed, and jerked my daughter into the side walk. Afterwards, she fought the car over to the left-hand turn lane to stop in a somewhat safer spot on a major street. My oldest daughter driving suffered neck injuries from the seatbelt and my youngest daughter bumped her head. Both were hurt. An independent mechanic diagnosed the issue as well as Hendrick Chevrolet in Shawnee Mission Kansas. The parts are available for inspection. Hendrick Chevrolet failed to properly diagnose this issue when my car was in their care and service department on 06/14/24. I paid for an inspection but Hendrick Chevrolet's technician failed to record play in the broken wheel and if the car was in need of an alignment. This is unacceptable behavior considering the technician had both front tires off to inspect the brakes and was paid to perform a complete inspection on my car as described in Chevy's inspection literature provided by the dealership. He also provided an incorrect brake pad measurement. Through several Chevrolet/Chevy Cruze online forums, Cruze owners have asked several questions and recorded several comments regarding having a broken control arm and having to replace the ball joint bolt. Also, recalls were previously issued with other GM vehicles having a right-front passenger side defective control arm, which potentially could be a GM fabrication issue with control arms. No warning lamps, noises, or messages alerted to this issue. This would have been a fatal incident involving my daughters and other drivers if it occurred on the highway at a higher rate of speed. Water leak in trunk. Took car in 3 time to have it fixed after them doing the recall( 84279073 f-lamp kit). Every time it went in they found a leak in a different spot. 15Feb17 they found water leaking from right side of the spoiler retainer holes. Dealer removed spoiler applied double back tape and sealer. Reinstalled spoiler 02Mar17 found pin hole leak in weather strip. Dealer replaced weather strip. 01jan24 start having electrical issues. Hard starting/ running weird and finally dead battery. Had les swabs install battery and remove water in trunk. Car starts but shuts off when driving. 05mar24 Dealer finds leak coming from right side spoiler and now 1 licence plat bolt. Charged me 600.00 . to reseal. Here we go again They could never stop/find the leak before and will not warranty previous work. Isn't this a fire/safty issue? That started the recall in the 1st place. And why wasn't drain plugs required for this yr.car. I believe it was in the newer one. I would like to know how many people had to take their car in multiple times to never have the problem truly fixed. Is this a tactic used to make consumers go away and say they fixed the recall, but never really did.

I was driving down the road when my son said he smelled something and made pull over. There were what I thought were small flames on the floor so i dumped my water on them, then i realized the seat itself was melting and dripping stuff on the floor. then the seat went up. Very shortly after that the car was completely engulfed and is now a total loss.

The contact stated while driving 25 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the message "Service Brake System" was displayed simultaneously. The vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that he applied more pressure to the brake pedal and the vehicle responded. The contact was able to continue driving; however, the failure recurred while driving to the residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the vacuum pump had seized, which fractured the camshaft. The mechanic diagnosed that the vacuum pump and the camshaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000. The contact wanted to include the number of the brake pump part of their vehicle - 12662789. The contact also stated that other SUV models of various model years have the same defective part.

When I start my car it will sputter then die, also cuts off while driving. It cuts off but will crank up and die again after so many tries it will drive a while and do it again. The check engine was on and I have fixed the O2 sensor, the mass air flow sensor, Ive replaced the turbo hose it had a big chunk ripped out of it which we have no clue how that happened, I just changed the PCV valves a few weeks ago and the car started but would not go in drive nor reverse put it back in shop and cleaned the throttle body and it ran good the whole day today I started cutting off again.

My car was recalled for problems with fuel system or something of that nature, I took it to get repaired not once but about 3 times and problem is still ongoing. When I press the gas, the car shoots all the way to the 3rd gear and gets stuck at about 27 miles which is very dangerous, especially when I’m on the freeway. It will also cut off in the middle of the road making me have to put my car in park and recrank the car, multiple people have almost ran dead into the back of my car. They basically told me it is no way to fix my car. Now, it has caused more problems. My car is now saying “engine power reduced” and “service brake assist” when I try to press the brakes, it’s literally almost impossible. I have to almost stand on the brake and it still does not stop all the way. My brakes are new btw, so it shouldn’t still have this error message. I’m basically driving a lemon. This car is not reliable at ALL. I have put so much money into this car and with it being a 2016, you would think it wouldn’t have all of these problems… the car just jerks when I’m driving and nobody can seem to fix it! Oh, and let me not forget about the fuse that blew in my USB ports causing me not to be able to use all the features of my vehicle. This car is a nightmare. Also, I believe that when there are recalls for safety issues like this, we should be notified but of course that’s asking for too much. I have only had this car since 2019. It was serviced on 4/28/21, 5/26/21, 6/6/21 and after that I literally gave up and just hope I don’t wreck out and die.

Catalytic Converter , it is a 2016 , it absolutely should not be faulty/defective AT ALL . I checked with Dick Wolstrom Chevy Dealer , if this would be included in the Powertrain Warranty and they said it expired in December . I checked with the other Yearly Recalls for this problem, and it did show this exact same recall for the all the previous years of this make and model of car . It should be fixed , I never heard of a Catalytic Converter be defective like this especially in a newer year car . Can you please help me ? Also, I am having problem with the Fuel pressure Sensor , Air flow intake sensor, Knock sensor , all (3) this is crazy . This is the 2nd time the knock sensor has been replaced . My main concern is the Catalytic Converter , please advise , it should be covered in the powertrain warranty on this car , regardless . It is very expensive to be replaced .

PCM failure Almost had numerous accidents. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service center. It has been reproduced by other people after explaining the issue. Also has been reproduced on another Gm product around the same year. Vehicle has been inspected by an independent shop, the only thing that was found was excessive brake wear in rear. Problem appeared when I first started driving the car. It is definitely a software issue. Software should be polling the wheel speed sensor while in engine off. There were no idiot lights. Recently, on a private road that had an inclination, I reproduce the problem. The vehicle obtained at least two miles an hour rolling backwards for about a minute. The speedometer did not register any speed. I did not want to test this any longer for fear of engine starting back up and damaging the transmission. Approaching a stop softly applying the brakes with an incline, whether at a controlled intersection or in traffic, when the auto engine shutdown activates, the vehicle rolls backwards.

I WAS IN A CRASH ON JULY 27,2020,PM HOURS.I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT ON INTERSTATE,IT BEGAN RAINING,I SLOWED DOWN & ADJUSTED TRACTION CONTROL/STABILITY CONTROL SETTING.THE CAR VEERED TO THE RIGHT FOR SOME REASON,I GOT CAR BACK IN STRAIGHT MOTION,THEN IN A SPLIT SECOND,IT SHOT TO THE LEFT OF THE ROAD WAY.I TRIED GAINING CONTROL,TO GET BACK IN THE CORRECT LANE,AND THE CAR RAN INTO THE GUARDRAIL IN TRYING TO GET CONTROL OF IT. I DO NOT THINK THAT THE RATE OF SPEED,NOR WEATHER,WERE THE ONLY REASONS FOR THIS ACCIDENT. PRIOR TO THIS CRASH,MONTHS BEFORE,AT VARIOUS TIMES,AND AND FOR NO REASON, THE SERVICE POWER STEERING,AT TIMES THE SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL,AND AT TIMES THE SERVICE STABILITY MESSAGE WOULD APPEAR,ONLY FOR A SPLIT COUPLE OF SECONDS,AT RANDOM TIMES. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON,AND A PRIOR CERTIFIED MECHANIC DIAGNOSED IT AS BANK 1 CATALYCT CONCERTER CLOGGED. WE,WERE TRYING TO GET THE VEHICHLE RE-DIAGNOSED BY A DIFFERENT MECHANIC SHOP,AT THE TIME FRAME THIS ACCIDENT HAPPENED,BUT,COVID 19,MADE THINGS TO DIFFICULT TO ARRANGE AND PLANS WERE IN PROGRESS TO HAVE IT CHECKED ASAP.I BELEIVE THE VEHICHLE HAD A MALFUNCTION AND HOPE TO GET THE SENSORS,COMPUTERS,RELAYS OR ANY OTHER CHECKED OUT BY YOU,NOT ONLY GM. EVERY AIRBAG ALONG DOORS OF CAR DEPLOYED.BUT, THE STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG DID NOT. MY HEAD HIT EITHER THE STEERING WHEEL OR WINDSHEILD. I HAD A BLOW TO MY HEAD. IF ALL OTHER AIRBAGS DEPLOYED,THEN I FEEL STEERING WHEEL BAG SHOULD HAVE ALSO. THIS IS SERIOUS MALFUNCTIONS. THERE WERE PROBLEMS FROM THIS CAR FROM DAY 1. THINGS WENT WRONG WAY BEFORE EXPECTED TIME FOR. SUCH AS HEATERCORE, IGNITION COIL,COOLANT LEAKS, THERMOSTAT HOUSING OUTLET, DRIVER DOOR WINDOW & MOTOR,ALL OF MOST WENT BAD BEFORE 80,000 MILES.EVEN ELECTRICAL SUCH AS DOOR CHIME,LIGHTS NOT WORKING AT CORRECT TIME. I BOUGHT A 2016 CHEVROLET CRUZ NG ON SEPTEMBER 7, 2016. ON SEPTEMBER 10, 2019, I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE CHEVROLET AGENCY TO CHECK THE WATER FILTERING OF THE 3 LIGHT STOP OF THE CAR, IT LEAKED WATER AGAIN AFTER THE REPAIR OF THE RECALL N162064340 . ON THIS VISIT I WAS NOTIFIED THAT THE CAR HAD A RECALL OF THE STEERING SYSTEM (RECALL N182201620) WHICH PRESENTS A FAILURE IN THE PACKAGING OF THE STEERING BOX CAUSING MOISTURE TO ENTER THE PART AND DEACTIVATE THE POWER STEERING. AFTER CHECKING THE CAR THE AGENCY INDICATED THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING SYSTEM AND THE AGENCY CLOSED THE RECALL N182201620. ON NOVEMBER 5, 2019, WHEN I STARTED MY VEHICLE AND PUT IT IN DRIVE, THE STEERING SYSTEM WAS DEACTIVATED, PREVENTING ME FROM TURNING, I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE VEHICLE, AND THE BOARD THREW A MESSAGE 'THE POWER STEERING HAS BEEN DEACTIVATED, DRIVE WITH CAUTION', THE STEERING WHEEL IS COMPLETELY HARD AND IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO MANIPULATE IT. I CONTACTED THE AGENCY AND THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE CHEVROLET WORKSHOP AT MY COST, THE AGENCY ANALYZED THE FAULT AND RESPONDED THAT IT WAS NOT RELATED TO RECALL N182201620 (SAME FAULT THAT IS NO LONGER SHOWN ON THE GM PAGE) AND THAT THE THE CAR HAD NO GUARANTEE, THE AGENCY NOTIFIED ME THAT I SHOULD PAY FOR THE CHANGE OF THE PART. TALK TO GM 01800 AND I REPORT THE SITUATION, THEY CONTACTED ME AFTER 72 HOURS WITHOUT AN ANSWER, AFTER 6 DAYS GM'S RESPONSE WAS THAT THE VEHICLE HAD NO WARRANTY AND THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR IT, THE ADVISOR INDICATED THAT THE RECALL OF THE STEERING SYSTEM WAS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE AGENCY AND THAT GM WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE, THEY REFUSED TO GIVE ME A TECHNICAL RESPONSE OF THE FAILURE OF THE PIECE AND THEY VIOLATION OF IATF RULE 16949: 2016 CLAUSE 10.2.6, THEY REFUSED TO PERFORM AN ANALYSIS OF THE PIECE FAILED AND REFUSED TO CHANGE OR REPAIR THE FAULT OF THE STEERING SYSTEM FOR FREE.

THE ISSUE RETURNED IN OCT, AT THIS TIME IT STALED GOING THREW INTERSECTION WHICH ALMOST RESULTED IN A WRECK. DEC IT LOSS POWER WHILE GOING DOWN HEY I PULLED TO SIDE AND HAD CAR PULLED IN. I PURCHASED A NEW 2016 CHEVY CRUZE LIMITED FROM FAIRWAY CHEVROLET ON 4/2/16. AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE I WAS NOT AWARE THAT IT HAD A CENTER HIGH MOUNTED STOP LIGHT FLASHING DEVICE ON IT[THE DEALER CALLED IT A "RED ALERT SYSTEM". I STATED TO DEALERSHIP PERSONNEL THAT PER DOT LAWS THAT I BELIEVE SUCH A DEVICE IS NOT LEGAL. THEY STATED THAT IT WAS LEGAL .I REMOVED THE DEVICE MYSELF AS THEY WERE TO BUSY TO DO IT WITHOUT A LENGTHY DELAY.CAN YOU PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE? THERE IS A DISTINCT "CLUNKING" NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WHEN TRAVELING OVER A BUMP, THROUGH A DIP OR ON AN UNEVEN ROAD SURFACE. THE CHEVROLET DEALER HAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PROBLEM IS IN THE REAR SUSPENSION, BUT THAT CHEVROLET DOES NOT HAVE A REPAIR FOR THE PROBLEM. I HAVE DRIVEN FOUR OTHER 2016 CHEVROLET CRUSE VEHICLES WITH SIMILAR MILES AND THEY ALSO HAVE THE PROBLEM. THE CHEVROLET DEALER STATES THAT THEY ALSO HAVE ENCOUNTERED THE PROBLEM IN NUMEROUS 2016 CHEVROLET CRUZE VEHICLES. I AM BEING TOLD TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE WITH THIS KNOWN CONDITION AS CHEVROLET MAY OR MAY NOT DEVELOP A REPAIR FOR THE REAR SUSPENSION PROBLEM.
