The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet HHR. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost power steering functionality. The power steering warning light was illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that after restarting the vehicle, the vehicle temporarily returned to normal functionality however, the failure reoccurred. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V153000 (Steering); however, the VIN was not included. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to the cost. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

Although this vehicle is a 2010 HHR, it has less than 23000 miles on it, has been garaged kept and maintained impeccably. The warning light blinks at random and then the power steering fails. It does not matter the speed of the vehicle and happens at random. Once turned off and restarted, the power steering works for approx 5 minutes and then fails again. There was a recall on 2009-2010 HHRs for sudden loss of power steering issued in 3/2014, recall # 14V153000. This recall is not VIN# specific. However, when I contact the dealer for repair of this vehicle, I am told that the recall does not pertain to my VIN#, so its not covered. NHTSA has more than 135 complaints about HHRs since 10/2019 with more than half of them being steering issues. This clearly is a wider recall issue than originally thought. My vehicle is inoperable due to this safety issue. I filed a complaint with GM. They told me it was not their issue and I could pay to have it diagnosed and fixed at a dealership. This is a GM issue due to the amount of complaints about this exact problem from other owners. I am hoping GM is made aware of the widespread issues and does the right thing, issuing another recall for all 2009-2010 HHRs regardless of VIN#.

The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet HHR. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the power steering message was displayed on the instrument panel and while her daughter was driving the vehicle. The contact's daughter restarted the vehicle; however, the failure returned while driving at a low rate of speed. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V153000 (Steering) which she linked to the failure. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where she was informed that the vehicle was not under recall. The manufacturer was also notified, and the contact was given a case number. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

Owner of 2010 Chevrolet HHR. While driving approximately 35 MPH and other various speeds, the vehicle intermittently lost power steering functionality. The power steering assist warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was parked and turned off, then restarted. The warning light was no longer showing and power steering was restored. After driving for approximately 60 seconds there was again a loss of power steering functionality and the warring light illuminated. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V153000 (Steering) however, the VIN was not included.

The power steering failed, it is available for inspection. My safety and the safety of my two very young children were put at risk. Suddenly as I crossed the rail road tracks and attempted to turn right onto another street, the power steering went out of my vehicle. I narrowly avoided a collision with another vehicle stopped at the stop sign on the street I signaled to turn down. It hasn't been inspected by anyone yet. The power steering light came on right as it failed and I had no assisted power steering, manual only.

ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO MY RIGHT TAIL LIGHT WENT OUT, REPLACED THE BULB. ABOUT 9 MONTHS AFTER THAT IT WENT OUT AGAIN, REPLACED IT. ABOUT 3 MONTHS AFTER THAT IT WENT OUT AGAIN, REPLACED IT AGAIN. ABOUT A FEW MONTHS LATER IT WENT OUT AGAIN, REPLACED IT AGAIN. 3 WEEKS LATER IT WENT OUT AGAIN, REPLACED IT. ONE WEEK LATER IT WENT OUT AGAIN.... I AM GETTING THE RUNAROUND FROM RYDELL CHEVROLET IN NORTHRIDGE, CA WITH REGARD TO THIS RECALL. CALLED SHORTLY AFTER RECEIVING FIRST RECALL NOTICE TO ORDER PARTS, TOLD NO PARTS AVAILABLE YET. WENT IN FOR SERVICE IN AUGUST, ORDERED THE PARTS FOR THE RECALL. CALLED IN SEPTEMBER BECAUSE I HADN'T HEARD ANYTHING OVER 3 WEEKS AND WAS TOLD I DIDN'T NEED TO ORDER PARTS, THEY HAD THEM AND NO PROBLEM, COME IN AND GET REPAIRED. I COULDN'T COME UNTIL THIS MONTH, I CALLED FOR AN APPOINTMENT TO REPLACE THE RECALL PARTS, APPOINTMENT TOMORROW MORNING. ON SUNDAY, MARCH 31ST, 2013, MY VEHICLE WAS LOCKED IN THE RUNNING POSITION AND IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET MY KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO RUN UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO CONTACT A LOCAL CAR EXPERT WHO WAS ABLE TO PULL THE FUEL PUMP FUSE TO GET THE ENGINE TO STOP RUNNING. THE NEXT DAY, THIS SAME PERSON TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO HIS SHOP AND REPLACED THE "IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER" PER A "SILENT" GM RECALL. SOON AFTER THIS INCIDENT, I BEGAN HEARING ABOUT A GM RECALL ON THE "IGNITION SWITCH". I WAS THEN SENT A LETTER FROM GM TO THAT EFFECT. THE LETTER ALSO STATED THAT I COULD BE REIMBURSED FOR WORK DONE IF I HAD REPAIRS MADE ON MY OWN. WHEN I APPLIED FOR A REFUND FOR THE LABOR COST THAT I INCURRED, I WAS NOTIFIED BY THE TEAM CHEVY OF VALPARAISO, IN DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THAT I WOULD NOT BE COMPENSATED FOR BY EXPENSES BECAUSE THE CURRENT RECALL WAS FOR THE "IGNITION SWITCH" AND NOT THE "LOCK CYLINDER". I TRIED TO EXPLAIN THAT THE OTHER PART WAS ALSO A PART OF A PREVIOUS RECALL; HOWEVER, THE REP REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE WITH THE "LOCK CYLINDER". AFTER DOING SOME ONLINE RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED THIS SAME "LOCKING IN THE RUN POSITION ISSUE". FOR THIS REASON, AND THE FACT THAT GM IS ONCE AGAIN SLOW TO ACKNOWLEDGE A DANGEROUS DEFECT IN A VEHICLE WITH A HISTORY OF DANGEROUS DEFECTS, I AM WRITING TO FILE AN OFFICIAL COMPLAINT. AT THIS POINT, I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN MY VEHICLE. I CURRENTLY HAVE TWO RECALLS OUT ON MY CAR AND HAVE ALREADY REPLACED BY POWER STEERING ASSIST MOTOR AFTER IT FAILED ON A BUSY HIGHWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF A LEFT HAND TURN. THERE ARE A SERIES OF MAJOR FLAWS WITH THIS VEHICLE AND GM NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SAFETY OF ITS CUSTOMERS AND MAKE THIS RIGHT. While operating vehicles , the smell of fresh gasoline was coming into cabin. Made left hand turn to pull over and check gas cap, as I turned the rear of my car spun around like I was on ice. Almost hit pedestrians, my rear tires soaked with gasoline…scary. Gas pouring out from real lines next to Muffler.

THE DOOR HANDLE IS MADE OF PLASTIC AND IT FAILS. THE PLASTIC CRACKS AND YOU CAN'T OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. MINE BROKE. WHAT IF SOMEONE GOT CAUGHT IN A FLASH FLOOD AND YOU LOSE POWER TO YOU WINDOW. YOU DIE. I THINK THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND GM ADDRESS THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE SSR. THEY REPLACE THE SSR HANDLES WITH METAL. THERE ARE 40,000 MEMBERS ON THE HHR FORUM AND A LOT MORE CARS ON ROAD. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. IT'S SCARY THAT ONE PULL ON YOU DOOR HANDLE AND YOU CAN'T GET OUT UNLESS YOU OPEN THE WINDOW OR CRAWL OUT THE OTHER SIDE.

PASSENGER INSIDE DOOR HANDLE IS MADE OF PLASTIC AND CRACKED. ONLY WAY TO GET OUT OF THE CAR IS TO OPEN WINDOW AND USE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE. IF THE WINDOW FAILS YOU NEED TO EXIT THE DRIVER SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED.

KNOW PROBLEM ON CONNECTORS TO AIR BAGS GIVES 2 CODES B0019-0D AND B0010-04 STATES THAT THIS KNOW PROBLEM CAN STOP DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAGS. UPON LOOKING PROBLEM UP THIS IS VERY COMMON ON THIS CAR AND THE MANUFACTURER KNOWS OF IT. THIS IS SAFETY AND SHOULD BE FIXED BY THEM BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT.

MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON CAUSING THE AIRBAG NOT ABLE TO OPERATE. BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL IT DID HAVE ISSUES WITH THE WIRING STATING IT WAS CORRODED. IT COST A LOT OF MONEY TO HAVE THESE DEFECTS CORRECTED AND WAS TOLD NO SUCH RECALLS EXIST ON THE AIRBAG.

THIS A RECALLED 2010 CHEVROLET HHR. WE HAD THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALLED, POWER STEERING SYSTEM RECALLED, AND RIGHT AFTER THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS INSTALLED, THE KEYS STOP WORKING AND WE HAD TO GET TOWED. NOW, THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. AND WHEN WE WENT TO RE-START THE CAR, NOTHING. THE POWER WENT TOTALLY OUT, AND THE KEY IS STILL STUCK IN THE IGNITION SWITCH. ABOUT A FEW WEEKS AGO, WE GOT ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE FROM GM THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER MAY NOT PROPERLY TRANSMIT AN ELECTRICAL SIGNAL PROPERLY THAT WILL CAUSE THE KEY TO STAY IN A LOCK POSITION. WE ARE NOW STRANDED. AND WE HAVE TO ONCE AGAIN GET THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER AND PAY FOR A RENTAL. AND THERE ARE STILL SO MANY RECALLED CARS AT THE DEALER THAT THEY ARE SO BEHIND. Rear door locking system failure. Door opened suddenly and without warning while driving endangering occupants. The door locking mechanism will not allow the door to remain secure and closed when shut. Online search revealed many similar incidents occurring for other drivers.

aBOUT 3 WEEEKS ago I went to exit my 2010 Chevrolet HHR ls and the drivers door handle broke off in my hand. This caused me to climb over to the passenger side to exit. After wards I realized that I could use the power windows to roll the window down to open door from outside. If in the case of a crash the power windows would not work thus trapping me and all of my occupants in the vehicle. I checked on the hhr owners web site and many owners complain it is a constant problem . Some carry extra in vehicle to combat the problem.

THE PLASTIC, INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ARE PRONE TO BREAKING. I REPLACED FRONT, DRIVER'S-SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS AGO. THE FRONT, PASSENGER-SIDE DOOR HANDLE IS NOW BROKEN. THIS IS MORE THAN AN INCONVENIENCE; IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, IT IS NECESSARY TO EITHER ROLL DOWN WINDOW AND OPEN DOOR BY PULLING EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE, OR ANOTHER OCCUPANT OF THE VEHICLE MUST EXIT THE VEHICLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM OUTSIDE. IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY, THIS COULD RESULT IN FURTHER INJURY OR DEATH TO OCCUPANT(S) BEING UNABLE TO QUICKLY EXIT THE VEHICLE. I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY TIMES THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE NHTSA, BUT THERE ARE MANY SUCH CASES THAT CAN BE FOUND BY SEARCHING THE INTERNET. AFTER BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE, STOPPING, AND PROCEEDING FORWARD I ATTEMPTED TO AGAIN APPLY THE BRAKE AFTER ABOUT 150 FEET OF MOVING FORWARD. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS HARD BUT THE BRAKES WERE NOT BEING APPLIED AT ALL. IT MADE NO DIFFERENCE EVEN WHEN APPLYING MUCH ADDITIONAL PRESSURE TO THE PEDAL. IT FELT LIKE THE ABS WAS PREVENTING THE BRAKES FROM WORKING AS I COASTED TO A STOP. AFTER A BRIEF AMOUNT OF TIME THE BRAKES SEEMED TO WORK NORMALLY. I OWN A 2010 CHEVROLET HHR. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH IN THE FAST LANE ON I-75N. THE POWER STEERING SENSOR LIGHT HAD ILLUMINATED AND THE POWER STEERING SUDDENLY MALFUNCTIONED MAKING THE STEERING WHEEL STIFF AND ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO MOVE. I WAS SOMEHOW ABLE TO SAFELY ACROSS 3 LANES TO OFF RAMP, LUCKILY IMMEDIATELY TO THE RIGHT WAS ABLE TO GLIDE INTO A PARKING LOT. PARKED THE VEHICLE AND TURNED IGNITION OFF, CHECKED ALL FLUIDS UNDER HOOD, READ MANUAL AND ADVISED TO TAKE KEYS OUT AND RESTART. SO I RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS NORMAL, THE WARNING SIGNAL WAS GONE AND WHEEL WAS MOVING. I REPORTED THIS TO GM IMMEDIATELY AND HAVE TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY DO NOT SEEM TO BE ACTING AS IF THIS IS URGENT. THEY HAVE STALLED 2 DAYS NOW WITHOUT DIAGNOSING, THEY WILL NOT PROVIDE ME WITH A LOANER VEHICLE AND THEREFORE I HAVE NO CHOICE THEN TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE, KNOWING THE SEVERE THREAT IT HAS TO MYSELF AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD. I THEN IMMEDIATELY LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE. IT TOOK GREAT FORCE TO STEER THE VEHICLE OFF OF THE HIGHWAY TO A SAFE LOCATION. I THEN USED THE ONSTAR SERVICE, THEY RAN A QUICK DIAGNOSTIC - RESULT CAME BACK THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO CONNECT TO THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM - THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM HAD LOST ELECTRICAL CONNECTION OR HAD FAILED COMPLETELY - THEY WERE UNABLE TO LET ME KNOW WITHOUT HAVING IT DIAGNOSED FURTHER AT A LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIP. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR TO THE DOLLAR STORE AND WAS STOPPED AT THE RED "LEFT TURN" ARROW, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE "POWER STEERING" SIGN FLASHED ON MY DASHBOARD AND MY CAR MADE A "DING DING" NOISE. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I TURNED LEFT AND IT WAS EXTREMELY HARD FOR ME TO TURN THE WHEEL. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE. I WILL TURN THE CAR OFF, AND WHEN I TURN THE CAR BACK ON, IT DRIVES FINE FOR THE FIRST FEW MINUTES, AND THEN THE "POWER STEERING" SIGN CAME BACK ON. OUR CHEVY HHR 2010 HAS BEEN DYING AND STALLING OUT ON US WHILE WE ARE DRIVING IT, THE ONLY TIME IT HAD POWER GOING TO IT WAS WHEN IT WAS BEING JUMPED. EVEN THEN SOON AS THE CABLES WERE UNHOOKED IT WOULD JERK THEN DIE RIGHT AWAY. IT SEEMED AS IF MOST OF THE LIGHTS INSIDE AND OUTSIDED OF THE TRUCK ONLY WOULD FLASH WHILE JUMPING IT, THEN NOTHING. IT WAS ALSO VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL, AND EVERYTHING BASICALLY SEEMS LIKE IT'S MALFUNCTIONING. CAUSE: FAULTY LATCH SPRING LOADER A15 BODY & ELECTRICAL, 10470C LOCK, REPLACED RT FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY. I PURCHASED IT IN 2011AND THE PRESENT MILEAGE IS 17,000MI. I WAS AT WALMART MY KEY WOULD NOT TURN AT ALL. I CALLED A CHEVY DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THAT IT WAS A RECALL BUT NOT ON 2010 JUST 2009. I HAD THE IGNITION SWITCH REPLACED AT MY COST. I DRIVE A 2010 CHEVY HHR. I NOTICED NOT TO LONG AFTER I PURCHASED IT NEW THE DOOR(DRIVERS SIDE PASSENGER) WOULD NOT OPEN FROM OUTSIDE OR EVEN INSIDE WHEN I WOULD CRAWL INSIDE AND TRY TO GET IT OPEN. IT WOULD ONLY DO IT ON OCCASION. NOW IT HAS CEASED TO HAPPEN AT ALL IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS. ON MAY 25TH OF THIS YEAR THE PASSENGER SIDE DID THE SAME THING. MY MOTHER AND I WERE TRAVELING TO MY DAUGHTERS GRADUATION AND IT COMPLETELY LOCKED HER INSIDE. SHE COULD NOT GET THE DOOR OPENED AT ALL EVEN THOUGH I HIT THE UNLOCK BUTTON AND SHE TRIED MANY TIMES TO DO THE SAME THING ON HER SIDE. THE ACTUAL DOOR LOCK WAS IN THE UP POSITION SHOWING THAT THE DOOR APPEARED TO BE IN THE UNLOCK POSITION BUT WHEN SHE WENT FOR THE HANDLE IT WAS STILL LOCKED. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES ON THIS DAY. IT EVEN SET MY ALARM SYSTEM ON MY CAR OFF BECAUSE AFTER IT REFUSED TO UNLOCK IT EVENTUALLY DID AND THEN REFUSED TO LOCK BACK. I GO AROUND AFTER GETTING OUT OF THE VEHICLE MAKING SURE ALL MY DOORS WERE SECURED AND IT WAS NOT LOCKED EVEN THOUGH THE LATCH WAS IN THE DOWN POSITION AND APPEARED TO BE SECURED. IS THIS A COMPUTER PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES? I HAVE READ ABOUT PROBLEMS WITH THE OLDER MODEL HHR'S HAVING THIS PROBLEM BUT NOT ON A NEWER ONE OF THE YEAR I HAVE. The gas pedal would stick and the car would not decelerate when removing pressure from it. This happened a couple of times on separate days but would unstick and decelerate fairly quickly. Then today the gas pedal not only became stuck but it accelerated and I had to hit the brakes to get it to stop accelerating.

FOUND PROBLEM AT NIGHT WHEN I COULD SEE THE GLOW FROM MY BRAKE LIGHTS ON THE TOP INSIDE EDGE OF MY REAR HATCH. REPLACING BRAKE SWITCH ABOVE PEDAL DID NOT FIX PROBLEM. SOUNDS KIND OF FUNNY, BUT I GOT BRAKE LIGHTS TO GO OFF WHILE SETTING IN DRIVEWAY AND POUNDING MY CENTER CONSOLE OUT OF FRUSTRATION. INTERNET SEARCH FOUND OTHER GM VEHICLES WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND FRUSTRATED OWNERS THAT TOOK VEHICLES TO DEALERSHIPS THAT DIDN'T FIX THEIR PROBLEM. ISSUE APPEARS TO BE CIRCUIT BOARD RELATED WITH CIRCUIT BOARDS LOCATED ON PASSENGER SIDE LOWER CENTER CONSOLE. A SHARP RAP WITH THE PALM OF MY HAND IN THAT AREA WILL ALWAYS GET THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO GO OFF WHEN THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ON. ON JUNE 17TH, I CALLED CECIL CLARK AGAIN AND WAS ADVISED THAT ALTHOUGH THEY WERE RECEIVING 4 - 5 REPLACEMENT KITS A DAY, MINE HAD NOT COME IN YET. NOW I HAVE A SAFETY RECALL FOR JUNE REFERENCE THE EPS AND THAT PARTS ARE NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. PREVIOUS RECALLS WERE THE IGNITION SWITCH AND THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM. BUT I FOUND OUT THAT THE KEY GETTING STUCK WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK, IS NOT A OFFICIAL "RECALL ,BUT IT SHOULD BE! WE RECEIVED A LETTER WARNING US OF THE PROBLEM AND IF IT OCCURRED, GM WOULD FIX IT FOR FREE. WELL, AS I REPORTED , IT DID HAPPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE SPORADIC FAILURE FOUR TIMES WHERE THE BODY CONTROL MODULE, LUBRICATED THE HIGH SPEED LAND MODULAR CONNECTORS AND REPLACED THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE, ALL TO NO AVAIL. BOUGHT A USED 2010 CHEVROLET HHR ON JULY 09, 2011 FROM A MAJOR DEALER. ON JULY 23,2011, DROVE TWO MILES TO SUPER MARKET. THE ENGINE WOULD NOT SHUT OFF AND I COULD NOT REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. FINALLY HAD TO DISCONNECT BATTERY TO STOP THE ENGINE FROM RUNNING. THE IGNITION INTERLOCK CYLINDER IN OUR 2010 CHEVROLET HHR FAILED AND THE KEY BECAME STUCK. WE WERE UNABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY OR TURN IT TO THE "OFF" POSITION. Noticed that the cruise control would disengage randomly when activated. I checked the function of the brake lights at night and found that the brake lights would turn themselves on randomly with zero brake input, disengaging the cruise control. In this state, depressing the brake pedal more than around 30-40% would turn the brake lights off, even with the brake pedal fully pressed. Furthermore, with the brake pedal pressed to a moderate level, the cruise control is able to be engaged, even with obvious brake pressure being applied. This defeats the cruise control disengagement feature and the cruise control system will fight against the braking system to maintain speed instead of turning itself off as it seems to rely solely on the brake lights for the automatic disengagement. This issue is quite dangerous as this seems to happen quite often with the brake lights, but I cannot find any sort of consistent scenario that causes these issues to occur.

I have replaced the lower control arms four times within the last 3 years that part is defective there are supposed to last 10 years. It affects your steering when breaking. This part needs to be recalled immediately. The last time I replaced the lower control arms was April 16th 2021.

The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet HHR. The contact stated that the underbody and rear wheel well were rusted and corroded adjacent to the exhaust pipe. The contact noticed that fuel was leaking. Eventually, the contact detected an abnormal odor of fuel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the nickel installation shield on the fuel lines had several holes. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified however no further assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 129,000.

THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET HHR. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, HE DETECTED A STRONG FUEL ODOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 151,000.

ONCE THE VEHICLE TOOK OFF AT THE HIGH SPEED, IT THEN CAME ALMOST TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE SOUND OF THE ENGINE WAS REVVING BUT THE SPEED WAS NOT SUPPORTING THE SOUND. I AM ABLE TO ROLL THE WINDOWS UP WHEN USING THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR PANEL BUTTON, JUST UNABLE TO ROLL THEM DOWN. THIS STARTED OUT WITH THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW NOT WORKING, THEN WENT TO THE REAR DRIVER SIDE AND NOW THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW CAN ONLY BE LOWERED BY LOCKING THEN UNLOCKING THE WINDOW AND APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE WINDOW SWITCH AT AN ANGLE. IF I NEEDED TO GET MY SERVICE DOG OUT OF THE BACK SEAT AND WAS UNABLE TO USE THE DOOR, I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO LOWER THE WINDOW WITHOUT EFFORT. THIS PUTS HER LIFE OR THE LIFE OF A HUMAN WHO MAY BE PRESENT IN THE BACK SEAT AT SERIOUS RISK. THIS SLOWLY STARTED A COUPLE YEARS AGO AND HAS ESCALATED. BY THE GRACE OF G-D OR REFLEXES, I TURNED THE WHEEL TO THE RIGHT TO AVOID FLYING THROUGH THE GUARDRAIL AND OFF THE 4TH STORY OF THE PARKING GARAGE. VEHICLE CAME TO A HALT WHEN IT SMASHED INTO A CONCRETE SUPPORT PILLAR. BOTH AIR BAGS DETONATED, PASSENGER-SIDE AIR BAG APPARENTLY BROKE THE WINDSHIELD ON THAT SIDE. ENGINE SHUT OFF. WE HAD TO PULL OVER THE BEST WE COULD NOT TO BLOCK TRAFFIC (THIS IS A TWO LANE NO SHOULDER, NO GUARDRAIL, MOUNTAIN HIGHWAY WITH MANY SWITCHBACKS) WE WERE HEADED UPHILL AND WITH NO POWER HAD TO ROLL SLOWLY BACK TO THE SWITCHBACK TO TURN AROUND. THE CAR WOULD START AND STUMBLE JUST ENOUGH TO MANEUVER IT AROUND GOING DOWN HILL. IT WAS 5PM ON A FRIDAY EVENING MILES FROM ANY RETAIL STORE AND OUT OF CELL PHONE RANGE SO WE WERE PRETTY DESPERATE. WE COASTED DOWN THE MOUNTAIN ROAD, STARTING THE STUMBLING AND SPUTTERING ENGINE WHEN OUR SPEED BECAME TO MUCH OR WE APPROACHED A SWITCHBACK SO THAT THE POWER BRAKES COULD BE USED TO SLOW US DOWN. THIS WENT ON FOR 20-30 MINUTES UNTIL WE WERE OFF THE HAZARDOUS PART OF THE MOUNTAIN PASS AND THEN WHEN WE ATTEMPTED TO START THE CAR IT REMAINED RUNNING. THE SERVICE WRITER DETERMINED THAT IT WAS THE MECHANISM IN THE BUCKLE ITSELF CAUSING THE SEAT BELT TO GET STUCK. SINCE MY WARRANTY IS UP BECAUSE I AM OVER 14,000 MILES I AM HAVING TO FOOT THE BILL FOR THIS ITEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TWICE FOR THE FAILURE. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED.
