My car sometimes cuts off while driving. Was on highway 301 running about 60 mph in the middle lane and just lost power no warning. No code no nothing. Sacred me, I truly feel that's a safety issue, for me and the cars behind me. It's bad not knowing when or where this will happen again.

I have a 2003 Chevrolet Impala! Look it up on the internet, and you will see that the failure rate of the GM passlock system is huge, and massively expensive to repair! In fact from a inside relative, says GM makes more money in parts, and repairs than on selling a new vehicle! This is without doubt a premeditated flow to rip off the public! This is in fact insensitive for GM to engineer a constant, and ongoing failure of the of its vehicles! This passlock defect can not be fixed by accessing the cars computer! It should be that easy but it is not a option. Being stranded by this defect is life threatening. The problem is the Passlock system that has failed for me, and hundreds of thousands owners of GM vehicles, and tens of millions of dollars in repairs that GM should be forced to repair, at no costs, past, and present to the owners, and including towing, and a rental car! The passlock defect, and failure completely locks up the cars entire electrical system, so the owner can not start, or even open the trunk of their car in a emergency! After it happens you can’t even access the car radio to reset back to the original factory functions! Even if you disconnect the battery, to get this accomplished, it will be a short while before it happens again! It is crazy expensive just to diagnose this problem! Please note that this is not just a Impala problem! This passlock defect falling involves dozens of Models of all types, old, and new. These vehicles number in the many hundreds of thousands over decades! Many tens of millions of dollars in repairs, and hundreds of thousands waiting to happen! I RECENTLY RECEIVED A ALERT FROM MY CREDIT KARMA STATING THAT I HAD A RECALL ON MY 2003 CHEVY IMPALA FOR A ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: IGNITION RECALL #213545. I PAID OUT OF POCKET TO GET THIS RECALL FIXED BACK IN FEB OF THIS YEAR AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW CAN I GET A REINBURSMENT FOR THAT RECALL.

THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH MALFUNCTIONS. IN SWITCHING FROM LOW BEAM TO HIGH BEAM THE HEADLIGHTS DO NOT SWITCH AND EVENTUALLY GO OUT COMPLETELY. BY HOLDING THE HANDLE MANUALLY FOR HIGH BEAMS IT CANCELS CRUISE CONTROL WHEN ACTIVATED.

COOLANT SYSTEM HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE. AFTER REFILLING COOLANT AND OIL, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT OIL AND COOLANT WERE DRIPPING UNDERNEATH THE CAR. ACCORDING TO A GM REPRESENTATIVE, THERE ARE SERVICE BULLETINS OUT FOR THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL, BUT I'VE BEEN TOLD MY VIN IS NOT ONE OF THEM. IT HAS ALL THE SAME SYMPTOMS DESCRIBED IN OTHER BULLETINS. I'M NOT SURE HOW/WHY THIS VIN ISN'T INCLUDED WHEN THE SAME SYMPTOMS EXIST.

THIS 2003 IMPALA STARTED ACTING LIKE THIS BEFORE THE MILES I PLACE DOWN, BECAUSE I BOUGHT THIS CAR USE AND MY WARRANTY END, I WAS TOLD I COULDN'T DO ANYTHING (THE DEALER STATED) WHEN I COME TO A STOP AND THEN START WELL TRY TO START THE CAR HESITATE AND THEN A HARD KICK/PUNCH AND IT WOULD DO THIS ONLY AT RED LIGHTS, STOP SIGNS, OR REVERSE. SO ON 05/12/2010 I BOUGHT THIS CAR TO A AUTO REPAIR SHOP THEY PERFORM A TEST AND IT CHECK OUT TWO OF THE SHIFT SOLENOIDS FOR THE TRANSMISSION WERE BAD SO THEY REPLACE BOTH SHIFT SOLENOIDS, SIDE COVER GASKET AND TRANSMISSION FILTER. COST ME $1,120.56 WITH IN A WEEK IT WAS STILL ACTING LIKE IT WAS NEVER WORK ON. I STARTED ASKING OTHER OWNERS ABOUT THERE IMPALA THEY ALL SAID IT DID THE SAME TO THEM. SO BACK TO THE STORE FOR MORE POWER STEERING FLUID. HE FILLS IT UP. THE NEXT MORNING SAME PROBLEMS. WE KNOW NOW THERE IS A LEAK IN OUR POWER STEERING BUT NOT SURE WHERE EXACTLY. MY CAR NOW SITS AS WE CAN'T AFFORD TO BE ADDING BOTTLE AFTER BOTTLE OF POWER STEERING FLUID TO MY CAR EVERYTIME WE NEED TO GO SOMEWHERE. MY HUSBAND BELIEVES WE HAVE RUN INTO THE SAME ISSUES THAT HAVE RECENTLY BEEN REPORTED BY NHTSA ID# 11316116 BEING POWER STEERING RETURN HOSE RUBS AGAINST SOME PART OF THE MOTOR AND RUBBER HOLE IN POWER STEERING RETURN HOSE.

ON A COLD START MY CAR WILL NOT START FOR AT LEAST ONE TIME, AND ONCE YOU GET IT ON THE HIGHWAY THE CAR WILL SURGE AND JUMP RPMS AND OCCASIONALLY WILL JUST DIE AND LEAVE ME STRANDED ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAD PURCHASED FOUR DOUGLAS BRAND TIRES FROM WAL-MART MODEL X-TRAC 2. OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS THREE (3) OF THE TIRES HAVE HAD SIDEWALL BLOWOUTS, TWO AT HIGHWAY SPEED, AND ONE WHILE PARKED. THE DOT NUMBER ON THE TIRES ARE PJX3011R3507. ALL THREE BLOWOUTS WERE PRECEDED BY A SLOW AIR LEAK THAT COULD NOT BE FOUND AND ALL THREE HAD A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE ON A VERTICAL LINE FROM THE BASE OF THE TIRES TREAD, ON THE SIDEWALL, TO JUST ABOVE THE BEAD. I BOUGHT 4 NEW TIRES AT SEARS IN WLILMINGTON, N.C. LAST MAY, I HAVE PUT LESS THAN 12,000 MILES ON THESE TIRES. BEGINNING IN ;APRIL OF 08, I STARTED TO NOTICE A LOW TIRE AND PROCEEDED TO THE STATION TO PUMP IT UP. AS I WAS PUTTING AIR IN THE TIRE I HEARD AIR ESCAPING AND MOVED THE VALVE STEM AND IT WAS LOOSE. I PUT ENOUGH AIR IN IT TO GET AROUND THE CORNER TO THE SERVICE STATION AND HE SAID IT WAS THE STEM. I WAS TRYING TO DECIDE HOW I WAS GOING TO AFFORD A NEW TIRE AND HE SAID THAT HE COULD REPLACE THE VALVE STEM. HE CHARGED ME $10. THIS HAPPENED ABOUT THREE WEEKS LATER AND THEN AGAIN THIS WEEK, MAY 21! THREE TIRES OUT OF FOUR HAVE HAD THE STEMS REPLACED. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING OVER 40 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN TO A TIRE, I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THE STEMS COULD BE REPLACED. MY 2003 CHEVY IMPALA HAS A FEATURE FOR SHOWING LOW TIRE PRESSURE. 1ST TIME MY TIRE WAS BELOW 20 LBS WITH A NAIL IN IT AND LOW TIRE PRESSURE DID NOT SHOW. I TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP. THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. 2ND TIME MY TIRE HAD A BLOW-OUT IN THE SIDE WALL. WHILE RUNNING ON A FLAT TIRE, THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE DID NOT SHOW. I REPLACED THE FLAT TIRE WITH THE SPARE AND WHEN I DROVE OFF WITH THE SPARE, THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE SHOWED. IT IS A GOOD THING THE 2ND TIME WITH THE BLOW OUT AND FLAT TIRE: A.IT WAS ON THE BACK WHEEL AND IT DID NOT AFFECT MY DRIVING AND ON A SLOW CITY STREET. B.IT WAS NOT ON MY FRONT TIRE , WHERE IT WOULD HAVE AFFECTED MY DRIVING AND I WAS NOT ON A FREEWAY, WHERE I MAY HAVE BEEN KILLED FROM IT. TO ME, THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE 2003 CHEVY IMPALA THAT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND DEATH. *TR THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS A 3/4 INCH HOLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SIDEWALL. UPDATED 09/26/07. *JB

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ALONG INTERSTATE 40 AND ONE OF THE TIRES BLEW OUT. SHE WASN'T INJURED, NOR WAS THERE ANY DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO A LOCAL TIRE SHOP AND THEY STATED THAT THE TIRE WASN'T PUNCTURED, THAT THE TREAD WALL COLLAPSED AND THEY RECOMMENED NEW TIRES. THE ORIGINAL TIRES WERE FIRESTONE WILDERNESS WITH 44,000 MILES ON A 2003 CHEVY TAHOE. THE VEHICLE AND TIRES WERE LESS THAN 3 YEARS OLD.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

Traveling at 58 mph in Cruise Control for 10 minutes I increased speed with 4-6 rapid pushes of the Accelerate button in less than 1.5 seconds, Each push is 1 mph. I have never pushed it that rapidly.The engine acted as if I floored the accelerator & the transmission went from 4th to 3rd gear, speed went to 70+ and rapidly increasing. I stepped on the break pedal several times to disable CC but no help, I switched the CC button to the off position several times, no help. Now at 85+ and accelerating hard in wide open throttle (WOT). I shift to Neutral and turned the ignition to the ACC position to retain steering ability as the engine was RPM'ing out to destruction. I coasted off the highway and set ignition to off. After a few minutes I turned engine on and it rev'd out of control, still WOT. Ignition off did not reset the problem. I opened the hood to disconnected the battery & I observe that neither the CC or accelerator cables are not holding the throttle body (TB) in "WOT", it was closed in an idle position. It is not mechanical. I disconnected the battery for several minutes and then the system operated normally. I have used CC a million times but never have pushed that accel button that fast. I served 7 years as a Reactor Operation onboard US navy Fast attack Submarines, have torn apart and assemble mechanical and electrical reactor systems. I have been a Hardware Engineer for 40+ yrs and have 10 US patents in fault tolerant server design. I've been a car guy since 5 yrs old. This is a problem with the cars computer or its code. The rapid pushing of the CC accel button is key here as well as memory retaining this CC state after Key OFF. Its a good thing I experienced with many hard casualty life and death situations while serving, because my car was accelerating out of control, my experience and training in the US Military taught me to keep cool and think.You really should investigate this. I can tell you more specifics but I'm character limited.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET IMPALA. AFTER DRIVING FOR FIVE MINUTES THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WILL STICK TO THE FLOOR. USUALLY AFTER REPEATED BRAKE APPLICATION THE PEDAL WILL RELEASE. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO CLEAN OUT THE ACCELERATOR BOX. THE REPAIR COST OVER $100.00 AND IT TAKES BETWEEN 15 TO 20 MINUTES FOR COMPLETION. THEY CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THE REPAIR WILL REMEDY THE FAILURE. NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 62000.

I OWN A 2003 IMPALA. EVER SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE DOOR LOCKS. THE FIRST TIME I HAD A PROBLEM ALL FOUR DOORS LOCKED ON THEIR OWN. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED MY GRANDSON WAS LOCKED INSIDE ON A HOT SUMMER DAY. MY DEALERSHIP IN CONJUNCTION WITH GM HAS TRIED TO FIX THIS SEVERAL TIMES, WITHOUT SUCCESS. IN ADDITION TO ALL DOORS LOCKING {HAS NOT OCCURRED RECENTLY} SOMETIMES THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PUT IN GEAR. THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCKS SOMETIMES FROM JUST CLOSING THE DOOR. I DO NOT BELEIVE I CAN NOT GET MORE INFORMATION ON THIS PROBLEM. CALLED GM AND THEY TOOK VEHICLE TO WALTER JACKSON CHEVROLET IN RINGGOLD, GA FOR INSPECTION. THE CAUSE, THEY FOUND, WAS A PERSISTENT WATER LEAK BEHIND THE GLOVE BOX WHICH CAUSED CORROSION AND CAUSED THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY. WE HAVE ATTEMPTED TO HAVE THIS LEAK REPAIRED MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT ATTEMPTS ONLY SUCCEEDED TEMPORARILY, IF AT ALL. FOUND FROM INTERNET SEARCHES THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH GM VEHICLES. AS I ALSO DRIVE A 2004 IMPALA THAT HAS HAD THE SAME LEAK, I AM CONCERNED THAT ITS AIRBAGS COULD ALSO DEPLOY AT ANY TIME. WE ARE THE SECOND OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE BUT ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE CAR'S HISTORY, AS IT WAS PURCHASED FROM A FAMILY MEMBER. KELLEY BLUE BOOK VALUES IT AT $2,000 AND REPAIRS ARE ESTIMATED AT $4,000. THE INCIDENT HAPPENED THIS MORNING AS I WAS LEAVING FOR WORK. MY CAR WAS PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY AND HAD NOT BEEN DRIVEN IN 2 DAYS. I GOT IN THE VEHICLE AND PUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND AS SOON AS I TURNED IT TO START THERE WAS A LOUD BANG THAT SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT WHICH I THOUGHT WAS A BACKFIRE. THE ENTIRE PLASTIC INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET HAD EXPLODED INTO PIECES AND WHITE SMOKE BEGAN TO RISE FROM UNDER THE HOOD. WHEN I OPENED THE HOOD AND THE SMOKE CLEARED I BEGAN TO ASSESS THE ISSUE, I NOTICED THE MANIFOLD GASKET COVER HAD BEEN BLOWN COMPLETELY OFF AND THE MANIFOLD ITSELF WAS IN PIECES. THE TRACTION CONTROL IS CONSTANTLY ENGAGING EVEN UNDER IDEAL DRIVING SITUATIONS. IT ENGAGES WHILE DRIVING AND TURNING AT SLOW SPEEDS. ALSO WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED A NOISE IS HEARD AND A SLIGHT PUSH BACK OF THE BRAKE PEDAL OCCURS. NOISE IS POSSIBLY FROM THE ABS. FOUND A GASOLINE LEAK AT THE QUICK CONNECT FITTING WHERE THE FUEL LINE MEETS THE FUEL RAIL ON TOP REAR OF ENGINE. I BELIEVE ITS THE FUEL RETURN LINE. THE QUICK CONNECT FITTING IS LEAKING FUEL DOWN ONTO ENGINE AND COULD DRIP ONTO HOT EXHAUST MANIFOLD CAUSING A FIRE. CAR WAS STATIONARY WHEN I NOTICED THE LEAK. MY CHEVROLET TAHOE HAS BOTH THESE ISSUES. THEY STARTED ABOUT TWO WEEKS BEFORE I RECEIVED THE LETTER. WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND AND WOULD LIKE A RESPONSE FROM GENERAL MOTORS IS WHY MY SAFETY IS NOT AN CONCERN TO THEM BECAUSE I HAVE DRIVEN MORE THAN 70,000 MILES IN MY TAHOE? I TRAVEL THROUGH A LOT OF RURAL AREAS TO WORK AND I FEEL IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO NOT RUN OUT OF GAS. I FEEL IT EQUALLY IMPORTANT TO KNOW HOW FAST I AM GOING. THE SPEEDOMETER REGISTERS THAT I AM GOING 60 OR 70 MILES PER HOUR WHEN I AM SITTING AT A RED LIGHT. WHEN I AM GOING DOWN THE ROAD IT REGISTERS THAT I AM GOING OVER 120 MILES PER HOUR. THIS IS ANOTHER SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW HOW FAST I AM GOING. NOT TO MENTION THE POTENTIAL FOR SPEEDING TICKETS. I WOULD LIKE TO THINK THAT GENERAL MOTORS CARES ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS SAFETY REGARDLESS OF HOW MANY MILES THEY HAVE DRIVEN. THESE GAUGES ARE VERY EXPENSIVE TO HAVE REPLACED AND THEY ARE A SAFETY HAZARD. NOT BEING ABLE TO MONITOR YOUR RATE OF SPEED OR BE AWARE IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH GAS TO GET HOME ARE SAFETY ISSUES TO ME FOR MY HEALTH AS WELL AS MY PEACE OF MIND AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY GENERAL MOTORS DOESN'T FEEL RESPONSIBLE FOR CORRECTING THIS DEFAULT THEY ARE AWARE FOR ALL THEIR TAHOE OWNERS. WHEN ACCELERATING TO ENTER THE FREEWAY AT ABOUT 45+ MILES AN HOUR, THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP ACCELERATING. I TRIED TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL, DOWNSHIFT, AND APPLY THE BRAKES. I ALSO AT THE URGING OF 911 STAFF, APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKES. THE CAR AFTER ROUGHLY 5 MILES OF CONTINUED ACCELERATION EVENTUALLY STOPPED. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WE BOUGHT THE CAR FROM. OUR 2003 IMPALA LS @ 50K MILES HAD A VIBRATION WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED THAT GREATLY INCREASED WITH HARDER BRAKING AND ALSO A STEADY VIBRATION FROM THE FRONT END THAT INCREASED AS SPEED INCREASED. MY RETIRED FATHER IN LAW BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER WHERE WE PURCHASED THE CAR, BRIAN HARRIS CHEVROLET IN BATON ROUGE, LA AND HE FELT THAT HE WAS TREATED POORLY BY THE SERVICE DEPT. WE THEN TOOK THE CAR TO ALL STAR CHEVROLET WHERE WE WERE TREATED PROFESSIONALLY. THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEMS, FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS AND WARPED ROTORS, BUT SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT REPAIR IT UNDER WARRANTY UNTIL IT WAS APPROVED BY THE WARRANTY CARRIER, WHICH COULD TAKE SEVERAL DAYS. THEY SAID THAT RENTAL CAR REIMBURSEMENT WOULD BE MADE IF WARRANTY REPAIR WAS APPROVED. WE PAID A DIAGNOSTIC FEE AND PICKED UP OUR CAR AND THEN TOOK IT TO OUR LOCAL INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP THAT WE HAVE DEALT WITH FOR YEARS AND PAID FOR THE REPAIR OURSELVES. THEY RESURFACED THE BRAKE ROTOR AND REPLACED THE LEFT FRONT HUB ASSEMBLY. NOW @ 80K MILES WE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME WARPED ROTOR PROBLEMS AGAIN. *NM

THE CAR STARTING SMELLING LIKE ANTI-FREEZE AND THEN A BIG PUDDLE APPEARED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR. THE ONLY THING WE DID WAS DRIVE FROM NAMPA, ID TO BILLINGS, MT, WHICH WE HAVE DONE FOUR TIMES BEFORE. IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THE HEATER CORE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE CAR HAS 68,000 MILES ON IT RIGHT NOW AS OF JULY 28TH, 2006. IN NOVEMEBER OF 2003, THREE MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR, THE HEATER CORE WAS REPLACED AT 31,000 BY THE LITHIA DEALERSHIP IN HELENA, MT. I OWN A 2003 IMPALA I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH MY VEHICLE,EVEN THOUGH I HAVE HAD TO HAVE MY ROTORS AND BRAKES FIXED TWICE STILL PLEASED OVERALL. HOWEVER, ABOUT A MONTH AGO I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR A NORMAL OIL CHANGE AFTER RETURNING HOME, I NOTICED I DIDN'T HAVE ANY ANTI-FREEZE IN MY CAR. I CALLED A SPOKE TO A SERVICE TECH HE INFORMED ME THAT I PROBABLY HAD A LEAK SOMEWHERE. I BROUGHT IT IN HE INFORMED ME THERE WAS A HAIR LINE CRACK IN MY GASKET AND I NEEDED A NEW WATER PUMP. THE COST TO REPAIR IT WOULD BE OVER ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS. WHAT I CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY DID MY LOW COOLANT INDICATOR LIGHT COME ON. WHY DID I HAVE TO DISCOVER THIS PROBLEM ON MY OWN? UNDER THE HOOD FIRE AND UNINTENDED KEY ROTATION. MAYBE 5 DAYS AFTER I TOOK MY VEHICLE INTO TC CHEVY (IN ASHLAND OREGON) TO HAVE THE 2 RECALLS REPAIRED ON IT. I TRIED TO START MY CAR AND IT CAUGHT ON FIRE DOWN BY THE FRONT BUMPER AND THE FLAMES MADE IT TO THE BACK SIDE OF THE MOTOR AND IGNITED THE FUEL LINES CAUSING A MINI EXPLOSION UNDER THE HOOD, MEAN WHILE I'M SITTING IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT. I JUMPED OUT OF THE CAR NEARLY HAVING THE LIFE SCARED OUT OF ME, I POPPED THE HOOD AND GRABBED MY HOUSE GARDEN HOUSE AND STARTED TO TRY AND PUT THE FIRE OUT AND MINIMIZE THE DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE WHILE I WAITED FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO REACH MY HOUSE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SHOWED UP AND WAS ABLE TO GET THE FIRE PUT OUT ALMOST TORCHING ONE OF THE FIREFIGHTERS HEAD WHEN THE FUEL PUMP KICKED ON WITHOUT THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION AND STARTED SHOOTING GASOLINE REIGNITING THE FIRE. I'M LUCKY THE FIRE DIDN'T BURN DOWN MY HOUSE AND MY NEIGHBOR'S HOUSE THAT DAY SEEING HOW THE FIRE CAUGHT THE BUSH NEXT DOOR ON FIRE AND THERE WAS FLAMES 14 FT IN THE AIR. SEE CHEVY AND GM HAVE BEEN TRYING TO ACT LIKE THE FIRE AND THE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE IS MY OWN FAULT AND NONE OF THEIR OWN EVEN THOUGH THE TECHNICIAN SAYS NONE OF THE REPAIRS WERE ACTUALLY DONE. MY TURNING SIGNALS WORK ON AND OFF ALL OF A SUDDEN. I FIRST STARTED HAVING THIS PROBLEM IN OCTOBER 2015. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN JULY 2015. I TRUSTED THIS COMPANY BECAUSE I SEEN THEY HAD GREAT REVIEWS. I ACTUALLY TRADER MY PREVIOUS CAR IN BECAUSE IT WAS HAVING PROBLEMS STARTING AND ALSO SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING. NOW MY CURRENT CAR IS HAVING PROBELMS STARTING. I HAD MY BATTERY, ALTERNATOR & STARTER CHECKED, AND IT WAS GOOD. THE COMPANY I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM PROVIDED WARRANTY COVERAGE ON THE VEHICLE. I TOOK THE CAR TO GET SERVICED IN THE BEGINNING OF OCTOBER FOR AN ENGINE MOUNT REPLACEMENT. THEY REPLACED MY ENGINE MOUNTS AND FUEL PUMP. 2 DAYS AFTER THAT SERVICE I STARTED HAVING ISSUES STARTING THE CAR. WHEN YOU PUT THE KEY IN YOU USUALLY HEAR BEEPING NOISE AND I DIDN'T. THAN MY BATTERY LIGHT, ABS LIGHT, TRAC OFF LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON AND IN THE MESSAGE CENTER TRACKING SYSTEM LIGHT CAME UP. THIS WAS VERY INCONVENIENT DUE TO THE WEATHER AND HAVING TO GET 2 TODDLERS READY FOR SCHOOL IN THE AM. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY MECHANIC AND HE REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH. I DIDN'T TAKE IT BACK TO THE SAME PLACE BECAUSE EVERYTIME YOU TAKE IT FOR SERVICE MY DEDUCTIBLE IS $100. AFTER 2 WEEKS AFTER REPLACING THE IGNITION SWITCH THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN. SO I CALLED MY WARRANTY SERVICE CENTER THEY SAID TO BRING IT BACK BUT IF IT NEEDS FIXING I HAVE TO PAY AGAIN. (ALSO I AM PAYING A CAR NOTE OF $115 A WEEK). I REFUSE TO KEEP PAYING MONEY FOR THIS PROBLEM. THIS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS IN SO MANY WAYS. IT'S VERY FUSTRATING BECAUSE I TRADER MY PREVIOUS CAR (2000 BUICK REGAL) IN FOR THE SAME REASON. MY PASSLOCK SYSTEM HAS BEEN MALFUNCTIONING FOR YEARS NOW (2007-2015) AND AT RANDOM INTERVALS, MY CAR WILL NOT START AND I HAVE TO WAIT 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE ENGINE WILL START. SOMETIMES THE "SECURITY" LIGHT WILL TURN ON WHILE I AM OPERATING THE VEHICLE AND AFTER I HAVE PARKED IT, THE SECURITY LIGHT WILL FLASH AND I CAN'T START THE ENGINE UNTIL AFTER THE 15 MINUTE CYCLE HAS CONCLUDED. I WAS TRAVELING ON A 2 LANE ROAD. A TRUCK PULLING AN ENCLOSED TRAILER WAS IN FRONT OF ME TURNED ON HIS RIGHT BLINKER AND BEGAN TO BRAKE TO MAKE THE TURN. I WAS TRAVELING 77 MPH, SO I MOVED TO THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC LANE (THE LEFT LANE) IN ORDER TO PASS THE TRUCK. AT THE LAST SECOND THE TRUCK SWERVED INTO THE LEFT LANE IN ORDER TO MAKE A WIDE TURN. I ABRUPTLY JERKED THE STEERING WHEEL RIGHT TO AVOID COLLISION WITH THE TRUCK, BUT THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO LOSE POWER STEERING AS WELL AS POWER BRAKES. I WAS UNABLE TO STRAIGHTEN THE STEERING WHEEL BACK AFTER JERKING IT TO THE RIGHT TO GO BACK INTO THE RIGHT LANE; MY VEHICLE HIT THE BACK OF THE ENCLOSED TRAILER AND THEN HIT STEEP DITCH WHERE MY BACK PASSENGER TIRE POPPED AND THE VEHICLE FLIPPED ONTO ITS ROOF. THE VEHICLES AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE HAS SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE FRONT , TOP AND SIDES OF IT. I REGAINED CONSCIENTIOUSNESS I ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND REMOVE THE KEYS FROM THE IGNITION. BUT I REALIZED THAT THE KEYS WERE NOT I N THE IGNITION.I CRAWLED OUT OF THE PASSENGER WINDOW TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE KEYS WERE LATER FOUND BY MY HUSBAND LOOSE IN THE VEHICLE. I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK WHEN MY DRIVERSIDE HEAD LIGHT WENT OUT SO I STOPPED AND BOUGHT A NEW BULB AT THE CLOSEST STORE WHEN I REPLACED THE BULB THE LIGHT STILL DIDNT COME BACK ON THEN THE DTR LIGHT ALSO STARTED HAVING ISSUES THE ONLY TIME YOU GET ANY LIGHTS ON THE DRIVER SIDE IS WHEN YOU MOVE THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AROUND THEN YOU GET DIM LIGHTING SO FOR THE PAST COUPLE MONTHS WE HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO USE OUR CAR AT NIGHT. I KEEP CHECKING FOR RECALLS BUT I HAVENT SEEN ANY AND WE HAVE ALWAYS HAD PROBLEMS WITH OUR DTR LIGHTING INCLUDING THE ONES THAT CONTROL OUR DASH LIGHTS. THE SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT IS ON THE DASH PANEL AND MY CAR STARTED TO SHAKE AND PULL TO ONE SIDE WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. WHEN THE WEATHER IS HOT, THE CAR WILL NOT START. ONCE STARTED THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THROWS MULTIPLE ERRORS, FROM SECURITY, BATTERY, SERVICE ENGINE SOON, ABS LIGHT, SEAT BELT LIGHT, AND BRAKES. THE RADIO IS LOCKED OUT AND THE AC FAN RUNS BUT WILL NOT ALLOW THE AC COMPRESSOR TO FUNCTION. ALSO THE HEAD LIGHTS FLASH AND THE COMPLETE DASH BOARD GOES DEAD INCLUDING ALL GAUGES, FROM THE SPEEDOMETER, FUEL AND TEMPERATURE GAUGE. THE WARNING BELL CONTINUES TO RING AS THE BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON. THIS IS A COULD CAUSE A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WITH NO HEAD LIGHTS AND NO WORKING GAUGES ON THE DASH, AND SHOULD FOR SOME REASON THE SECURITY SYSTEM SHUTS THE CAR DOWN WHILE DRIVING, COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I PURCHASED FROM VALLEY FORD 4/18/2009 I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLE WITH IT EVER SINCE I PURCHASED IT. I HAVE HAD ROCKER ARMS REPLACED, PINS, THE AFTERMARKET WARRANTY COMPANY WOULDN'T REPLACE THEM BECAUSE THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS NOT AN INTERNAL PROBLEM, I HAVE HAD PASS LOCK PROBLEMS WHICH I HAD TO GET DONE, I JUST REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION IN 2012 THE COMPUTER ON THE CAR READ THAT IT WAS SHIFT SOLENOIDS WHEN IT TURNED OUT TO BE THE TRANSMISSION. NOW AS OF THE PAST THREE MONTHS MY LOW BEAM HEAD LAMPS WILL NOT COME ON .THE DAY TIME RUNNING LAMPS WORK BUT WHEN IT GETS DARK THEY SHUT OFF & THE PARKING LAMPS STAY ON. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH HE ATTEMPTED TO OPEN THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW BUT IT WOULD NOT OPEN. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY. HE ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD FLICKER INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS AND THE DOOR LOCKS WOULD ALSO MALFUNCTION. THE CONTACT COULD ONLY MANUALLY UNLOCK THE DOORS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURES. HE REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR HIMSELF BUT THE FAILURES CONTINUED TO RECUR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE VCM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT IT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 157,000.

SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE BODY SHOP AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A DEFECTIVE COMBINATION SWITCH. THE COMBINATION SWITCH WAS REPLACED AND THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE REPAIR WAS UNSUCCESSFUL; THEREFORE, THE ORIGINAL PART WAS REINSTALLED. AFTER THE FAILED ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE FAILURE, THE MECHANIC PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE COMBINATION SWITCH. THE CONSUMER HAD THE ROTORS REPLACED, AND THE WHEELS ALIGNED. THEN, THE CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD HER THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. SHE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, WHO TOLD HER THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BECAUSE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT AT FIRST THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING AND THEY REPLACED GEAR SHAFT.*AK

RADIO HAS VERY BAD RECEPTION. HAVE TAKEN CARE TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE REPLACED NEW RADIO WITH RECONDITIONED RADIOS TWICE. FIRST REPLACEMENT RADIO, DISPLAY DID NOT WORK PROPERLY. SECOND REPLACEMENT RADIO WAS NOT CALIBRATED PROPERLY WHEN INSTALLED AND WHEN TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND RE-CALIBRATED, HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE DISPLAY AS REPLACEMENT RADIO NUMBER ONE. I NOW SUPPOSEDLY NEED A NEW DIMMER SWITCH. (AM TAKING TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP IN THE HOPES THAT THEY CAN REPAIR THE PROBLEM) THE FOG LIGHTS CONSTANTLY HAVE EXCESSIVE CONDENSATION. AM TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP AND GM THAT THIS IS NORMAL HOWEVER I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PEOPLE TELL ME THIS IS NOT NORMAL. HAVE NOT OBSERVED THIS TYPE OF CONDENSATION ON ANY OTHER VEHICLE'S FOG LIGHTS. GM WILL NOT REPAIR OR REPLACE UNLESS THERE IS STANDING WATER. GM REFUSED CLAIM. THERE IS AN EXTREMELY LOUD POPPING AND CRACKING NOISE FROM THE DASH. TEMP OUTSIDE DOES NOT SEEM TO MATTER. AM TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT HAVE NO FIX. THE CRACKING NOISE IS VERY DISTRACTING WHEN DRIVING. IT COMES SUDDENLY AND WITH NO WARNING AND SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING HARD STRIKING THE WINDSHIELD. *LA

DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. *AK THE DEALER ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS STILL UNABLE TO MERGE INTO FREEWAY TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE PULLED HARD TO THE LEFT AND WOULD BECOME UNCONTROLLABLE. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED, BUT THE PROBLEM REMAINED. *SCC *JB
