MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WILL RESET WHILE I AM DRIVING. THE GUAGES WILL SWEEP AND ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS COME ON AND THE CAR WILL DING AS IF IT WAS JUST STARTED HOWEVER THE CAR NEVER STALLS AND THE RADIO STAYS ON ALONG WITH EVERYTHING ELSE.

CHEAP TIN PLATING) TO HOTWIRE MY CAR WHEN IT LOCKS OUT. TOOK 20 MINUTES TO GO SEE IF MY WIFE WAS OK AT THE ER, THANKS CHEVY!

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE VARIOUS ELECTRICAL SHORTS IN THE VEHICLE, WHICH PREVENTED THE WINDOWS FROM GOING UP AND DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND SEVERAL INDEPENDENT MECHANICS FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO SOLUTION AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

HAD ISSUES WITH ELECTRICAL IN 2015 IN WHICH GAS GAUGE AND OTHER GAUGES, SPEEDOMETER WERE "BOUNCING". AUTO REPAIR DETERMINED IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP AND REPLACED IT TO THE TUNE OF $600. THIS YEAR, WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN CAR SUDDENLY LOOSES ALL POWER AND TURNS OFF. BROUGHT BACK TO SAME REPAIR SHOP WHO STATED BATTERY CABLES WERE LOOSE AND TIGHTENED THEM FREE OF CHARGE. NOW 4-5 MONTHS LATER AND SAME ISSUE IS OCCURRING WHICH HAPPENED 4 TIMES TODAY. TWICE WHILE MAKING A HARD TURN. TERMINALS ARE COMPLETELY TIGHT. EARLIER THIS YEAR COULD NOT TURN IGNITION KEY AND TAPPED IT WITH A HAMMER TO GET IT TO TURN. I HAVE BEEN READING QUITE A BIT ABOUT AN IGNITION SWITCH RECALL, BUT NO MENTION OF IT BY THE DEALER FOR TWO RECALL FIXES THIS YEAR REGARDING THE IGNITION KEY AND FOB, AND SOME COVER ON THE ENGINE. *TR

A REMEDY HAD NOT YET BEEN DETERMINED FOR THE RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR PART TO BECOME AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESUME DRIVING. THE INTERMITTENT FAILURE OCCURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT COOLANT WAS LEAKING INTO THE OIL. THE ENGINE LIFTERS WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED WITHIN 2.5 YEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE COULD POTENTIALLY LEAD TO VARIOUS OTHER ENGINE, TRANSMISSION AND STEERING ISSUES. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE UPPER AND LOWER INTAKE GASKETS WERE REPLACED. SHE ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVING AS IF IT WAS LOSING POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS REPLACED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 85,000.

2002 CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO. ONLY HAS 59,000 MILES. CAR STALLED IN TRAFFIC. NO CRASH/ACCIDENT RESULTED. INTAKE GASKET LEAKED ANTI-FREEZE INTO ENGINE AND OIL LUBRICATION SYSTEM. THE ANTI-FREEZE GOT INTO THE BALL BEARINGS (AS WELL AS REST OF ENGINE) AND CAUSED CORROSION DAMAGE AND MISFIRES. THE ENGINE THREW A ROD. THE NEAREST CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT THE ENGINE MUST BE REPLACED, AND WILL COST $5,000 DOLLARS. WARRANTY IS NO LONGER ACTIVE DESPITE LOW MILEAGE DUE TO NUMBER OF YEARS THAT HAVE PASSED, NOR WILL THEY OFFER A DISCOUNT. HOWEVER, THIS PROBLEM IS A NOTORIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE 3.4L V6 ENGINE OFFERED BY CHEVROLET/HM. HOWEVER, THEY REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM DESPITE THE FACT THAT THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ARE LISTED ALL ACROSS THE INTERNET ON THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR ONE NIGHT WHEN I WAS DRIVING OUT THE HIGHWAY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE LIGHTS JUST GO OFF SCARING ME TO DEATH. IN A FEW SECONDS THEY CAME BACK ON. I HAVE HAD THIS DO THIS TO ME SEVERAL TIMES I BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2003. NOW ON AUGUST 28TH 2010 I HAD WENT TO A FRIENDS HOUSE AND LATER THAT NIGHT WHEN I WENT TO LEAVE THE LIGHTS DIDN'T WORK AT ALL UNLESS I HELD THE LIGHT SWITCH ON THE COLUMN FOR BRIGHT OR DIM. SO NOW THAT IS THE ONLY WAY I HAVE HEAD LIGHTS NOW IF I HOLD THE SWITCH ON THE STEERING COLUMN SO I DON'T GO TO FAR AT NIGHT. DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX THEM. TURN SIGNALS WILL NOT ALWAYS WORK. REPLACED THE HAZARD/SIGNAL SWITCH LOCATED BEHIND THE DASH ONLY TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. PRESSING ON THE DASH NEAR THE HAZARD SWITCH OR PRESSING THE HAZARD SWITCH WILL RETURN SIGNAL TO NORMAL OPERATION FOR A SHORT TIME. WHILE I WAS REPLACING THE ORIGINAL, I NOTICED PLACING A VERY SLIGHT PRESSURE ON THE SWITCH ASSEMBLY WILL CAUSE THE SIGNAL TO EITHER STOP OR START WORKING. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN MAY AND SINCE THEN I BEEN HEARING THIS CLUNKING NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. I CALLED GM AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT THAT NEED TO B REPLACED BECAUSE THEY GOT OUT A LOT ON THE VEHICLES. I TOLD THEM OF THEY KNOW THAT Y DIDN'T THEY RECALL THEM AND THE GUY TOLD ME BECAUSE THE SAFETY COMMISSION NEVER TOLD THEM TO. IM VERY UPSET AND FEEL THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE! NOTICED A KNOCKING SOUND IN THE STEERING COLUMN AT A VERY LOW MILEAGE (25000?) AND INQUIRED OF THE DEALER. TOLD THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG.. AT 84,000 MILES THIS HAPPENED AGAIN. TOOK BACK TO DEALER WHO TOLD ME THAT IN FACT THEY FOLLOWED THE GM SERVICE BULLETINS AT THE TIME AND ONLY LUBED THE STEERING SHAFT. I HAVE A 2002 CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO LS. ABOUT 1 YEAR AGO MY TURN SIGNALS QUIT WORKING RANDOMLY. IT SEEMED TO BE THE WORST ON HOT DAYS. I WOULD LEAVE MY HOME OR WORK WITH THEM WORKING PROPERLY AND THEN AT A RANDOM POINT DURING MY DRIVE THEY WOULD NO LONGER WORK. GM HAS RECALLED OTHER MAKES AND MODELS FOR SIMILAR PROBLEMS. HOWEVER, THE MONTE CARLOS HAVE NEVER BEEN RECALLED. AFTER SEARCHING FOR A POTENTIAL SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM, I HAVE FOUND THAT IT SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON MANY SIMILAR CARS THAT GM MAKES. MOST PEOPLE HAVE SAID THAT IT IS RELATED TO THE HAZARD SWITCH IN THE DASH BOARD. THIS IS A RELATIVELY CHEAP FIX HOWEVER IT IS ALSO A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD SINCE I NEVER KNOW WHEN THE TURN SIGNALS WILL OR WILL NOT WORK. IT SEEMS TO BE LUCK OF THE DRAW, WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS. TURN SIGNAL FAILURE: BEGINNING IN 2005 THROUGH TO 2007 THE TURN SIGNALS WOULD WORK INTERMITTENTLY. WHILE UNDER WARRANTY THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY INDICATED THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. ONCE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO. I DID FIND THAT TURNING THE HAZARD SIGNALS ON FOR 5-10 SECONDS WOULD SOMETIMES CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND THE TURN SIGNAL WOULD WORK. FINALLY AFTER MANY HOURS SEARCHING THE INTERNET I FOUND SEVERAL POSTINGS INDICATING THAT THERE WAS A FAULTY HAZARD LIGHT SWITCH, THE TURN SIGNALS ARE ALSO CONTROLLED BY THE HAZARD LIGHT SWITCH. IN OCTOBER 2007 I SPENT $399 TO HAVE THE HAZARD LIGHT SWITCH REPAIRED. PLEASE INSIST THAT THE DEALERSHIP REPLACE THE HAZARD LIGHT SWITCH AND NOT ADD ON ADDITIONAL PARTS LIKE THE TURN SIGNAL ARM ETC. MY DEALERSHIP FIRST QUOTED ME $850 STATING THAT THE TURN SIGNAL ARM MUST ALSO BE REPLACED TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. SINCE THE REPAIR ALL IS FINE. WINDOW REGULATOR HAS GONE OUT THREE TIMES ON TWO WINDOWS. 2008, 2010, 2014. THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS A BAD DESIGN AND CABLE JUMPS TRACK AT THE LEAST OF BIT JARRING. I PURCHASED MY 2002 CHEVROLET IMPALA LS IN DECEMBER, 2004. GREAT LOOKING VEHICLE WITH NUMEROUS PROBLEMS. THE MOST RECENT AND SEVERE HAS COME OVER THE LAST FEW DAYS. RE 2002 CHEVY TAHOE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS: UP UNTIL THE 34,000 MILE RANGE THE VEHICLE DID JUST THAT, RUN FLAWLESSLY. HOWEVER, AT 34,000 MILES (NOVEMBER OF 2004) THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND NEEDED TO ACCELERATE TO MERGE ONTO THE FREEWAY AND INSTANTLY THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO WHINE AND STOPPED OPERATING WHICH PLACED HER INTO THE PATH OF A LARGE TRUCK BEARING DOWN ON HER RATHER QUICKLY. THANKFULLY SHE WAS ABLE TO GLIDE OUT OF THE PATH OF THE TRUCK TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WE HAD THE TAHOE TOWED BACK TO OUR DEALERSHIP AND WE DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION "SUN SHELL" HAD FAILED AND WOULD BE REPLACED. OUR DEALER ASSURED US THAT THIS WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM, BECAUSE THE NEW PARTS WERE DESIGNED TO PREVENT THIS FROM OCCURRING IN THE FUTURE. OUR DEALER FURTHER STATED THAT THEY HAVE BEEN REPAIRING A LARGE NUMBER OF VEHICLES WITH THESE FAILURES. OUR TAHOE WENT OFF OF IT'S NEW CAR WARRANTY ON MILEAGE NOT NUMBER OF MONTHS SOMETIME IN APRIL OF 2005 (36 MONTHS WOULD HAVE ENDED THIS AUGUST). JUST THIS PAST MONDAY (SEPTEMBER 19, 2005) MY WIFE WAS AGAIN ON HER WAY TO WORK WHEN AGAIN THE TRANSMISSION FAILED IN OUR 2002 TAHOE. My car has the engine 3.1 L automatic. On January 4, I was going to go run errands so I went out to my car and cranked it to start the engine but instead, I heard a loud explosion, causing the front tires of the car to go up in the air and then land back on the ground. Smoke started coming out from the hood and a fire almost got started. I was scared to half to death causing me to almost have a heart attack. Morning inspection, I found that the intake manifold had exploded on the car and pieces of it were all over the engine. I feel that the pressure regulator may have been the culprit, but the plastic upper intake just literally blew up. Nobody was injured neighbors came out to see what the explosion had been, the window on my windshield cracked and major damage has been done to the Plenum. I have pictures but I’ve been unable to upload them but they are available. If you need them I went to Mission Chevrolet where I purchased the car but was referred to contact you in general. no recalls sent over this issue, but have I been driving when the explosion occurred it may have caused fatalities to myself, and perhaps other drivers on the freeway.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FIRE OCCURRED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS FUELED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT A CASE MANAGER WOULD BE ASSIGNED TO THE CASE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 32,000.

I OWN A 2002 CHEVY MONTE CARLO. AT THE BEGINNING OF NOVEMBER 2003 THE QUAGES ON THE DASH BOARD (TACHOMETOR, SPEEDOMETOR, ABS LIGHT, AIR BAG LIGHT, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ECT.) WOULD FLASH ON & OFF AND GUAGES WOULD SWEEP UP AND DOWN. ON NOVEMBER 9TH I STOP TO GET GAS AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. WHEN I GOT BACK IN THE CAR AND TURN IT ON THE PASSANGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. ON NOVEMBER 24TH WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE DRIVER AIR BAG DEPLOYED. I TOOK THE CAR BOTH TIME TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD BY GM THAT THEY WILL NOT FIX THE AIR BAGS. ABOUT A YEAR AGO I BUMPED A CAR IN FRONT OF ME WHILE STOP IN TRAFFIC AND IT MADE A 1 INCH CRACK IN MY BUMPER THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AT THAT TIME. GM STATES THE ACCIDENT THAT HAPPEN A YEAR AGO IS WHY THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED IN NOVEMBER. THEY ADVISED ME TO CALL MY INSURANCE COMPANY. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE INSURANCE AND THEY CONFIRM THAT THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT WAS NOT CAUSE BY THE ACCIDENT. MY INSURANCE IS WORKING WITH ME TO GET GM TO TAKE RESPONSIBILTY FOR THE DEFECT. I HAVE A 2002 MONTE CARLO SS. WITHOUT WARNING THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON. NOTIFIED DEALER AND THEY SAID WAS OK TO DRIVE UNTIL THEY COULD LOOK AT IT. TURNED OUT TO BE A SENSOR AS THEY THOUGHT. STEERING COLUMN PROBLEMS, COST $200.00 TO FIX, CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACED, COVERED BY WARRANTY THANK GOD. TODAY IT IS IN THE SHOP AGAIN FOR LEAKY GASKET AND WHEEL BEARING/ HUB REPLACEMENT WHICH IS COSTING ANOTHER $500.00. THIS WAS BAD BECAUSE THE ABS BREAKS DIDN'T ALWAYS WORK WHICH WAS SCARY SINCE I WONDERED WHEN THEY WERE GOING TO GIVE OUT TOTALLY AND I WOULD BE IN AN ACCIDENT. THE TRANSMISSION SOLENOID ALSO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED WHICH COST US ANOTHER $700.00. IS THERE ANY HELP FOR US? THE 2002 CHEVROLET TAHOE HAS FAILED INSPECTION BECAUSE OF THE EMERGENCY BRAKE.. IT WAS COMPLETELY USELESS. IT DIDN'T WORK. WHY I DON'T KNOW, BUT THE INSPECTION PLACE STATED THAT THEY HAD FAILED NUMEROUS TAHOES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I FELT THAT IT WAS UNSAFE AND CHEVROLET SHOULD RECALL THE FEW THAT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE AN INNOCENT PARTY CONCERNING SEVERAL DEATHS OR THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE REPORTING IT BEFORE IT IS RECALLED. I DIDN''T EVEN USE THE BRAKE HOW COULD IT NOT WORK ANYMORE.

2002 CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO WITH ABS AND SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT PROBLEMS AND CONCERNS**CC THE TRACTION LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS WELL. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED 2 MONTHS AFTER THE CONSUMER PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T GO INTO 3RD GEAR. THE STEERING SHAFT WAS LUBRICATED. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE EBCM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND WITHOUT THE REPLACEMENT, THE ABS WOULD NOT WORK SO THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS LIGHT WOULD REMAIN ON. THE WATER PUMP AND INTAKE GASKET WAS REPLACED DUE THEM LEAKING. THE FUEL INJECTOR WAS REPLACED DUE TO IT BEING STUCK OPEN. THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE DEALER SEALED THE REAR WHEELS. *JB

DT: THE CONTACT WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT SHE PURCHASED A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. SHE EXPERIENCED SEVERAL PROBLEMS SINCE THE PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES ,AND NO CORRECTIONS HAVE BEEN MADE. THE DEALER DISCOVERED THE ROTORS WERE BENT, AND BRAKES LEAK FLUID. THE VEHICLE STALLED, AND SHOOK TERRIBLY. THE AIR BAGS WERE FELL OUT OF THE DASHBOARD. THE SEAT BELTS ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE INTERMITTENTLY WORKED. THE DEALERSHIP INSISTED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. SHE CONTACTED THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE REGARDING THE LEMON LAWS. SHE ATTEMPTED TO GET THE DEALERSHIP TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK, BUT THEY WILL NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH IT HAD ONLY 10,000 MILES ON IT AT THIS TIME. *AK

DT: THE CONTACT STATED WHEN OPENING THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR THE DOOR WILL NOT STAY OPEN. THE DOOR WILL CLOSE UNLESS HE HOLDS IT OPEN. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER, AND THEY REPLACED THE DOOR STOP. THE REPLACEMENT OF THE PART DID NOT REPAIR THE PROBLEM. ALSO, THE CONTACT WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES. WHILE PRESSING ON THE BRAKES HE COULD FEEL SOME TYPE MOVEMENT IN THE BRAKE PEDAL. THIS ONLY HAPPENED WHEN BACKING THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY. THE DRIVEWAY IS ON A SLOPE POSITION. DT: SINCE BUYING THE VEHICLE THE CONSUMER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE ROTORS. THEY HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE. WHILE BRAKING THE ROTORS CAUSED THE STEERING WHEEL TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR A THIRD TIME YESTERDAY. THE DEALER SAID THIS WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE LAMINATION ON THE ROTORS. THE CONSUMER DID NOT HAVE ROTORS REPLACED BECAUSE HE WAS AFRAID HE WOULD BE CHARGED FOR THE REPAIR AS WELL THE DEALER PLACING THE SAME TYPE OF ROTORS THAT HAVE BEEN RUSTING IN THE PAST. THE MECHANIC NOTED AIR BUBBLES IN THE CASTING IN THE ROTORS WHICH THE CAUSED THE RUSTING. *AK WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN AT SPEEDS OF 60 MPH OR EVEN 30 MPH, THE CONSUMER NOTICED PULSATION IN THE BRAKE PEDAL, HOWEVER, WHEN APPROACHING EXIT RAMPS AND WHEN MORE PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE PEDAL, A MORE SEVERE PULSATION WOULD CAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL TO VIBRATE VIOLENTLY. CAR PULSATES WHEN BRAKING. I TOOK CAR INTO REPAIR SHOP AND WAS TOLD BEFORE INSPECTION THAT THEY HAD BEEN RECEIVING A LOT OF SERVICE WORK FROM THE BRAKE SYSTEMS ON THE NEWER MONTE CARLOS WITH THE 6TH GENERATION BODY STYLE. UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS DETERMINED AS DISCUSSED PRIOR TO INSPECTION THAT THE FRONT ROTORS WERE WARPED AND THE REAR ROTORS ARE RUST PITTED. THEY ALSO REPORTED THAT THE REAR CALIPER WAS LEAKING.

THESE ISSUES LISTED BELOW ARE TROUBLES I HAVE HAD WITH MY 2002 MONTE CARLO BOUGHT VEHICLE NEW 4/15/02 AND 21/02, FRONT BUMPER PAINT BEGAN TO PEEL. BUMPER REPAINTED./5/02 REAR SPEAKERS BEGIN TO CRACKLE AND QUIT WORKING. REPLACED./30/03 TOOK VEHICLE TO CHEVROLET GARAGE DUE TO VEHICLE PULSATING WHEN STOPPING AND THE CAR HAVING TROUBLE STARTING. FRONT AND REAR ROTORS FOUND WARPED AND RESURFACED. CARS FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR FOUND TO BE LEAKING DOWN AND WAS REPLACED. 8/21/03 CAR PULSATING AGAIN WHEN STOPPING. RETURNED VECHICLE TO CHEVY GARAGE. FOUND REAR ROTORS RUSTED AGAIN AND REPLACED REAR ROTORS. WAS TOLD TIRES WERE CUPPING IN REAR. ROTATED TIRES ON 8/22/03 AND FOUND SCORE MARK ON REAR DRIVERS SIDE ROTOR. 8/22/03 RETURNED VEHICLE TO CHEVY GARAGE SHOWED SERVICE MANAGER THE DEFECT AND WAS TOLD THE PART WOULD NOT BE REPLACED AT THIS TIME EEVN THOUGH ROTOR WAS SCORED. S.MGR STATED THIS WAS NORMAL CONDITION DUE TO BRAKE PAD METALLIC LINING. 8/24/03 CONTACTED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE ABOUT ISSUE. ASKED TO HAVE NEW ROTORS AND BRAKES PUT ON VEHICLE. RESPONSE WAS "GM IS AWARE OF ISSUES WITH OUR BRAKES AND ROTORS, BUT IF THERE IS NO DEFECT THE PART WOULD NOT BE REPLACED." I RESTATED ABOUT THE SCORE MARK ON THE NEW ROTOR AND WAS TOLD SORRY NOTHING THEY COULD DO AT THIS POINT. 9/2/03 WHILE OIL WAS BEING CHANGED TWO BOLTS WHERE NOTICED MISSING FROM THE TRANSMISSION PAN. WILL BE SERVICED ON 9/4/03 REPAIR PENDING. 9/3/03 VEHICLE HAVING TROUBLE STARTING AGAIN. ENGINE HESITATES FOR 10-20 SEC. WILL BE ADDRESSED ON 9/4/03 THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 24,000 MILES ON IT. I NEED NEW BRAKE PADS AND NEW ROTORS DUE TO DEFECTS IN PARTS. VEHICLE HAS 7YR/100,000 MILE WARRANTY. DO I HAVE A LEMON?

I WAS IN A WRECK LAST MONDAY NIGHT WHILE DRIVING A COMPANY VAN. THE CRUISE CONTROL WHEN YOU SET IT AT A SPEED THEN GO DOWN A HILL IT WOULD GET 15-20 MILES FASTER. ANY HOW THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE WENT DOWN AND I HIT A GUARD RAIL WITH THE FRONT OF THE VAN A FIRE STARTED IMMEDIATELY BY MY LEFT FOOT AND NONE OF THE FRONT AIR BAGS DEPLOYED UNTIL THE FIRE GOT TO THEM. THE VAN ROLLED OVER ONCE AND LANDED ON ITS WHEELS THE DOORS WOULDN'T OPEN I ROLLED DOWN THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW AND GOT OUT THAT WAY AND THE ABS BRAKES WOULD LOCK UP WHEN YOU HAVE TO GET ON THEM REAL HARD.
