2001 CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO GEAR SHIFT ISSUES AND VEHICLE ELECTRICAL OR COMPUTER MALFUNCTIONS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED IT WAS OFTEN HARD TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE FROM PARK TO REVERSE OR PARK TO DRIVE AS THE RELEASE PIN ON THE FLOOR SHIFT SOMETIMES REQUIRED EXTREME FORCE TO RELEASE THE SHIFT MECHANISM FROM PARK. ALSO, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. A DIAGNOSTIC TEST REVEALED THE OXYGEN SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER SUDDENLY BECAME TRAPPED IN THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS SOME TYPE OF ELECTRICAL OR COMPUTER MALFUNCTION, BECAUSE THE CONSUMER HADN'T LOCKED THE DOORS. THE HORN DID NOT ALWAYS RESPOND WHEN THE CONSUMER TIRED TO USE IT. *JB

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25-35 MPH OVER A ROAD BUMP, A LOUD NOISE EMITTED FROM UNDER THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE AND THEN IMMEDIATELY THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO PULL IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. THE FAILURE RECURRED WHENEVER DRIVING OVER A ROAD BUMP OR A POTHOLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,773. UPDATED 12/02/11
