I am STILL waiting for this recall to be fixed. Why is this taking so long? Every time I drive this vehicle, it is a danger for my passenger due to the defective airbag. It almost seems to me that maybe this is a stall tactic so there will be less of a cost for the repairs due to the less vehicles still on the road. Just my opinion. I would like to know what is taking so long to fix. It is already late 2021 and this vehicle is a 2009. Wow. I guess the safety of the customers is second to the cost of repairs.

PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR HAS BEEN ON FOR YEARS, AND I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR MANY YEARS FOR THIS PARTICULAR RECALL TO BE FIXED! IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT NOTHING IS BEING DONE AND PEOPLE LIKE ME ARE FORCED TO BE DRIVING THEIR FAMILIES AROUND IN SUCH UNSAFE VEHICLES!!!!! I HAVE FILED MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS, AND HAVE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER MULTIPLE TIMES, TO GET NOWHERE FAST! WHY EVEN HAVE THIS SYSTEM SET UP FOR RECALLS IF YOU DONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THEM???? IT'S SICKENING TO THINK OF SOMEONE HAVING TO FILL THIS COMPLAINT OUT AFTER THE FACT OF INJURY OR DEATH TO A LOVE ONE- WHAT'S THE POINT?

OWNERS ARE CONVINCED THAT A CRACKED DASHBOARD COULD COMPOUND THE SEVERITY OF A THE VEHICLE DASH IS DAMAGED I AM STATING THAT IT COULD SHATTER INTO PIECES UPON AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND SEND SHARDS OF DASHBOARD FLYING AT BOTH THE DRIVER AND THEIR PASSENGERS. THE SHARDS COULD ALSO LACERATE THE AIRBAGS AND RENDER THEM USELESS. MY DASH HAS CRACKED AND SEPARATED WITH NO ADDITIONAL STRESS FROM VEHICLE OCCUPANTS. THIS DAMAGE HAPPENS AS THE VEHICLE IS PARKED THE SUN WEAKENS THE MATERIAL,THEN AS THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN IT CREATES STRESS CRACKS. MOREOVER ANY DASH RELATED REPAIR WILL FURTHER DAMAGE THE DASH. FOR EXAMPLE THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS GM HAS BEEN SO RESISTANT TO A TAKATA AIR BAG RECALL KNOWING THAT IT WILL LIKELY REQUIRE THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD TO BE REPLACED.

DASHBOARD CRACKED IN MULTIPLE PLACES. CRACKING UP TO THE EDGE OF THE AIRBAG. IF AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED THE SHRAPNEL FROM THE DASHBOARD COULD CAUSE AIRBAG TO DEFLATE RENDERING IT USELESS AND CAUSE INJURY.

ON THREE (3) SEPARATE OCCASIONS IN THE PAST YEAR, THE VEHICLE ENTERS WHAT APPEARS TO BE AN "ELECTRICAL SYSTEM RESET" OF SORTS. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON LONG DISTANCE TRIPS DURING OPERATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WILL SUDDENLY POWER OFF AND ON REPEATEDLY, THE ELECTRIC DOOR LOCKS WILL UNLOCK AND RELOCK, THE ENGINE WILL LOSE POWER (QUITE SCARY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS) AND THE VEHICLE MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE ROAD, POWERED DOWN, LET SIT IDLE FOR 5-10 MINUTES AND THEN CAN BE RESTARTED TO A NORMAL OPERATING CONDITION. IT IS ALMOST AS IF THE COMPUTER SYSTEM IS RESETTING ITSELF WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN OPERATION AND MOVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED THREE (3) TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR - ALL ON LONG TRIPS - MARCH, JULY, AND NOVEMBER. THE MOST RECENT, INSTANCE OCCURRED ABOUT THREE HOURS INTO A RETURN TRIP HOME AND RECURRED AGAIN ABOUT 1-1/2 HOURS LATER (10 MINUTES FROM HOME) DURING THE SAME TRIP. BY RESTARTING/RESETTING THE VEHICLE, I WAS ABLE TO GET HOME. I TOOK TO ADVANCED AUTO AND THE DIAGNOSTIC CAME UP NEGATIVE - NO CODES, BATTERY AND STARTUP ALL GOOD. I HAVE A LARGE FAMILY AND USE THIS VEHICLE TO TRANSPORT THEM AROUND TOWN AND FOR VACATIONS AND SUCH. THIS IS QUITE A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN IT OCCURS AND I AM AFRAID IT MAY LEAVE US STRANDED AT SOME POINT IN TIME, OR WORSE.

Dashboard cracked around the corner of the passenger side air bag and manufacturer did not recall. It appears there are many vehicles with this problem and could be a potential safety issue if the airbag malfunctioned and caused parts of dash to break and rupture air bag or fly into passengers of vehicle in the event of a crash.

WHEN I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE IN JANUARY, 2019, IT HAD A SMALL CRACK ACROSS THE MIDDLE OF THE DASHBOARD. NOW THE CRACK HAS EXPANDED AND THE WHOLE DASHBOARD IS LOOSE AND BOUNCES AROUND WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE.

DASHBOARD CRACKED ABOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND ABOVE PASSENGER AIRBAG. THIS OCCURRED WHEN VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. THERE WAS NO SLOW PROGRESSION OF THE CRACKING, JUST ONE DAY ENTERED VEHICLE AND FOUND VERY LARGE CRACKS IN DASH AT POINTS ABOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND PASSENGER AIRBAG AREA.

The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that while her son was seated in the driver's side front seat with the door opened, the key was not in the ignition, the doors inadvertently locked and unlocked. The contact's son noticed that there was smoke coming from the dash and exited the vehicle. Upon inspection, the contact and her son detected a burning odor and noticed that there was smoke coming from underneath the hood; however, there were no flames. The contact's son opened the hood and disconnected the battery. The fire department arrived and inspected the vehicle. The fireman informed the contact that the alternator and battery connectors were extremely hot. The fire department assisted in moving the vehicle away from the residence. A fire department report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer; however, the vehicle was diagnosed but still hasn't been repaired. The contact related the failure to a faulty electrical system. The vehicle was not yet deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 133,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS REVERSING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, THE DOOR LOCKS BEGAN TO LOCK AND UNLOCK INDEPENDENTLY. THE FAILURE STOPPED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED INTO DRIVE. AFTER DRIVING 40 MPH FOR A WHILE, THE CHECK ENGINE, STABILITY, TRACTION, AND VARIOUS OTHER WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. ALSO, THE RPMS REVVED FROM 1 TO 5, THE ODOMETER FLUCTUATED UP AND DOWN, AND THE LOCKS MALFUNCTIONED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF, BUT THE REVVING DID NOT STOP RIGHT AWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BODY CONTROL MODULE WAS CONTAMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 195,889.

DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK ACTUATORS ARE FAILING TO OPERATE, WHICH POSES SAFETY CONCERN FOR CHILDREN IN THESE VEHICLES. I'VE HAD TWO FAIL. THIS IS A COMMON AND WIDE-SPREAD ISSUE WITH MANY 2007-2013 GM TRUCKS AND SUVS. JUST FOR MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE (2009 SUBURBAN) I COUNTED 13 OTHER COMPLAINTS (WITH NHTSA ID #S) ON THIS WEBSITE FOR THIS ISSUE. APPARENTLY THE ELECTRIC MOTOR IN THE ACTUATOR MODULE FOR EACH DOOR LOCK IS POOR QUALITY AND PRONE TO FAILURE. GIVEN THE SAFETY RISK AND NUMBER OF VEHICLES INVOLVED, I'M SURPRISED THAT A RECALL HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED.

THE DASHBOARD CRACKED IN TWO PLACES AT AROUND 50,000 MILES. THERE IS A CRACK BETWEEN THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG COVER AND THE FRONT EDGE OF THE DASHBOARD AND ONE OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL TO THE FRONT EDGE OF THE DASHBOARD. I WAS TOLD INITIALLY THAT THIS IS SIMPLY A COSMETIC ISSUE, BUT SUBSEQUENT REPORTS SUGGEST THAT THESE CRACKS MAY CAUSE THE DASHBOARD TO SPLINTER WITH AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT, CAUSING PREVENTABLE HARM TO PASSENGERS.

IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT I'M VERY CONCERNED THE DASH WILL INTERFERE WITH THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. I AM ALSO CONCERNED IT WILL BECOME LIKE PIECES OF FLYING SHRAPNEL. AS WE WERE DRIVING ON MAJOR HIGHWAY OUR STABILITRAK LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ENGINE CUT OUT, WE HAD NO POWER. WE WAITED FOR 30 MINUTES AND STARTED ENGINE, IT RAN FINE. THIS HAS HAPPENED A TOTAL OF 5 TIMES NOW. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM SOLVED AND JUST TO HAVE IT ASSESSED AT OUR LOCAL DEALER IT WILL COST $120. WE CANNOT AFFORD THAT. PLEASE HELP !!! *TR

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH NO ICE OR ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS. WHILE DRIVING MY 2009 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN, THE COMPUTER FLASHED THE STABILITRAK IS DISABLED AND THE ENGINE IS POWERING DOWN. I WAS DRIVING 75 MILES PER HOUR IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND ALL THE CARS AROUND ME HAD TO SLAM ON THEIR BRAKES AND GO UP ON TO THE MEDIAN TO AVOID ME. MY ENGINE SEIZED UP AND THE CAR WAS MOTIONLESS. WE PURCHASED A 2009 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. THREE WEEKS AFTER THE PURCHASE AND AFTER THREE OTHER MAJOR REPAIRS, I WAS TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE IN OHIO WHEN THE DASH FLASHED A MESSAGE INFORMING ME TO SERVICE THE STABILITRAC. I HAD ON STAR RUN AN ENGINE DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY INFORMED THAT THE STABILITY CONTROL WAS NO LONGER OPERATIONAL AND TO HAVE IT SERVICED IN THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS. WE DID SO AND THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR. A WEEK LATER, I WAS TRAVELING THE SAME INTERSTATE AND GOING TO THE SAME LOCATION. THE SERVICE STABILITRAC MESSAGE COMES ACROSS THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. ONCE AGAIN, I HAD ON STAR RUN A DIAGNOSTIC. THIS TIME, THEY ADVISE ME THAT THE ABS IS CURRENTLY NOT FUNCTIONAL AND IT MAY EFFECT MY ABILITY TO STOP IN SHORT DISTANCES. Cooper Discoverer 275-55r20 developed bulge in inner sidewall. I was unaware of issue until a stranger pointed it out. That was on 03/08/2023. Since then, 2 more tires have developed the same issue!! The last 2 have been looked at by tire installation professionals and determined to be manufacturer defects.

On 05/19/2023 driver's side front wheel removed for brake replacement. Noticed large bulge on inner sidewall of Cooper Discoverer 275-55r20 tire. This was the 2nd tire of a set of 4 that has developed the same issue. Now a third has a bulge. I will submit a 3rd report for it.

Cooper Discoverer 275-55r20 had a stranger point out a very large bulge on the inner sidewall of my passenger side rear tire. This is the 3rd tire from a set of 4 that has developed the same issue within 3 months. Cooper Tires is not wanting to help resolve this issue. They want the tire dissected and returned before doing anything.

Fuel pump modulator, which has a recall for other vehicles for same part, malfunctioned which caused the vehicle to cut off while my son was driving on the highway without notice, where he had to avoid being hit while trying to make it to the shoulder for safety. The fuel pump module was tested by a service mechanic and was found to have corroded due to moisture. Prior to vehicle cutting off, there were no warning signals/signs, it just cut the vehicle off while driving on the highway.

I RECENTLY EXPERIENCED THE CONDITIONS DESCRIBED BY THE GM RECALL 14515 IN MY 2009 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 1500. IN THE PAST 6 WEEKS, THE CAR HAS FAILED TO START. THE FIRST INCIDENT REQUIRED NEARLY 10 MINUTES OF STARTING THE CAR BEFORE IT WOULD START. ONCE STARTED THE CAR WAS FINE. IT WAS A COLD START - FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. ABOUT A MONTH LATER IT FAILED TO START GAIN, AFTER BEING PARKED FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 HOURS. AGAIN, AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES, THE TRUCK STARTED AND DROVE FINE AFTERWARDS. TODAY - ABOUT 2 WEEKS AFTER THE 2ND INCIDENT, THE TRUCK STALLED WHILE MY WIFE WAS AT A STOP LIGHT. IT TOOK 6-7 ATTEMPTS TO START BEFORE THE TRUCK AGAIN FIRED UP AND WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THIS CONDITION IS EXACTLY WHAT IS DESCRIBED IN GM RECALL 14515. HOWEVER, GM IS SAYING THAT MY VEHICLE (VIN: [XXX]) IS NOT COVERED IN THE RECALL. MY 2009 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN BEGAN STALLING IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS AFTER IT HAD RAINED HEAVILY THE DAY PRIOR. THE SHOP DISCOVERED THAT THE ISSUE WAS THE FUEL SYSTEM CONTROL MODULE. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS, BUT GM INFORMED ME THAT IT EXCLUDED MY VIN #. THE PROBLEM WITH THE MODULE WAS EXACTLY WHAT IS LISTED IN THE RECALL AND WAS NOT RELATED TO "WEAR AND TEAR" AS SUGGESTED BY RANDY WITH GM (SENIOR ADVISOR), BUT A FAULTY SEAL INTENDED TO PREVENT WATER INFILTRATION. THE DISCOVERY OF THE DEFECT WAS ON SEPTEMBER 2012. THERE IS A CRACK ON THE DASH ABOVE THE VEHICLES INSTRUMENTATION I.E. SPEEDOMETER, OIL PRESSURE, GAS LEVEL, ETC. I REPORTED TO LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP (HENRY BROWN CHEVROLET) ABOUT THE DEFECT AND MY CONCERN FOR SAFETY. THEY SAID THERE IS NO AVAILABLE SAFETY RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. THINKING THAT THIS WAS AN ISOLATED CASE I DID NOT PURSUE THE MATTER. THEN RECENTLY WHEN I SURFED THE INTERNET I CAME UPON A GROUP OF GM VEHICLE OWNER WITH THE SAME TYPE OF VEHICLE AND THE SAME TYPE OF ISSUE. SO I INVESTIGATED FURTHER. GOING TO DIFFERENT WEB BLOGS, I FOUND MORE GM VEHICLE OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. EVERYBODY HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. THEY HAVE CRACKED DASH ON THEIR GM VEHICLES. SOME HAVE THE CRACKS ON BOTH SIDE WHERE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS. THE DANGER IS THAT THIS MIGHT PUNCTURE THE AIRBAG AND RENDER IT INEFFECTIVE. THE MAIN CONCERN IS SAFETY BECAUSE I DON'T WANT MY VEHICLE TO FAIL ON ME AND MY FAMILY. IF FOR SOME REASON WATER GETS IN THE VEHICLES INSTRUMENTATION AND CAUSES AN ELECTRICAL SHORT, ME AND MY FAMILY COULD BE IN DANGER OF A VEHICLE ACCIDENT. The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that the vehicle intermittently failed to start after multiple attempts without warning. The contact replaced the ignition switch and the fuel pump; however, the failure persisted. The contact then used a code reader that determined that the Engine Control Module (ECM) was not giving a signal to the fuel pump. The contact made additional repairs to the vehicle, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and he was given an estimate for the repair. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 09V154000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed him that his vehicle was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.

WE CONTACTED GM AND THEY SENT US TO HAVE A DIAGNOSIS DONE WHICH COST US $99. THEY ESTIMATED THE COST TO BE $900 AND TOLD US WE WERE RESPONSIBLE BECAUSE OUR WARRANTY ENDED AT 36,000 MILES. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN. IN AN ACCIDENT I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO GET TO ANY PASSENGERS INCLUDING MY CHILDREN NOR COULD EMERGENCY PERSONNEL. ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION ON MY 2009 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN LTZ. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW FROM THE DEALER IN NOV 2009. UPON DELIVERY, IT WAS NOTED THAT THE DASH LIGHTS FOR FUNCTION BUTTONS DID NOT ILLUMINATE AND VISOR LAMPS WERE INOPERABLE. DEALER ASSURED US THAT THEY WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. THE HAZARD OCCURS WHEN THE LIGHT COMPLETELY GO OUT ON THIS VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT FOR NO APPARENT REASON. AFTER FOUR ATTEMPTS TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND GM TECHNICAL SUPPORT HAS YIELDED NO CLEAR ANSWERS OR ASSISTANCE. I AM CONCERNED THAT MY FAMILY WILL BE INJURED IN THIS VEHICLE. *TR
