I was driving down the street and all side airbags deployed out of nowhere, the seats belts that were not occupied locked, the seat belts that were occupied did not lock. The vehicle was able to drive to safety. The back latch would not open to allow me to remove my stroller.

My dashboard is severely cracked, I called GM to order a new dashboard and they don't have the parts. First this shouldn't happen, GM should own up to the issue and create a part that doesn't have the issue. Second they don't even have the existing part to fix the issue. I called a local dealership (Simi Valley Chevrolet) who wouldn't even give me the part numbers as they said it was against their policy to not give out part numbers. I don't know how a consumer is supposed to fix their vehicle with manufacturer who doesn't make a part any longer and a dealer who doesn't give the information to find another one.

I PURCHASED MY TAHOE A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO, AND IT ALREADY HAD A CRACKED DASH, BUT WAS MINOR. ONE SMALL CRACK BY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG, AND ONE IN FRONT OF THE STEERING WHEEL. SINCE THEN, IT HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE. THE CRACK NEAR THE AIRBAG EXTENDS FROM THE AIRBAG PANEL TO THE EDGE OF THE DASH WHERE IT JOINS TO THE FRONT SECTION OF THE DASH. THE DRIVER SIDE CRACK EXTENDS FROM THE SAME EDGE, UP TOWARDS THE STEERING WHEEL, ALMOST TO THE EDGE CLOSEST TO THE STEERING WHEEL. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN UTAH. IT WAS OWNED BY SOMEONE WHO LIVED IN THE NORTHEAST, THEN MOVED TO UTAH, AND THEN I MOVED TO KENTUCKY ABOUT 6 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM HAS STARTED AND CONTINUES DESPITE THE LOCATION, OR THE TEMPERATURE. IT SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE DUE TO NOT BEING SUPPORTED FROM THE UNDERSIDE.

Not able to open drunk safely, it may or may not open and sometime when it does it will start closing on its own and then at a certain point will slam shut and can’t reopen until it is ready my son almost got his head chopped off so now I’m not able to open my trunk at all very scared

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated while driving at approximately 40 MPH, the power steering became soft, and the vehicle started to lose forward momentum. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, but the engine failed to respond, and the vehicle continued to lose forward momentum. The contact stated that the check engine and several other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact pulled over and turned off and restarted the vehicle and the vehicle started to function normally. The contact stated the failure had been intermittent but had become a recurring failure while driving at various speeds. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed and determined that the failure was with the electrical system; however, there was no fix for the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

UNKNOWN: The heater-AC blower wire harness female clip and has melted three times with replacement parts. While it was on I was feeling for it and I can feel a strong pulsing so it has a lot of power. The wire harness gauge is week and small. Cheap parts the manufacturer made on a budget. I have heard many complaints and and worries from others that feel it can catch on fire and would be a dangerous distraction driving the freeway while it starts to melt it is a strong obnoxious fume and smells like it an catch fire. Also if you loose your heater on the freeway in the cold your windows fog up.

OUR CAR DOESN'T EVEN HAVE 100K MILES AND LOST ALL POWER WHILE DRIVING TO THE SPEEDOMETER AS WELL AS RADIO, LIGHTS, ETC... WE EVEN TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC WHO IS ALSO HAVING TROUBLES FIGURING IT OUT. PAID OVER $500 TO HAVE THEM CHANGE THE BCM AND IGNITION SWITCH STILL HAVING ISSUES TO THE POINT IT WILL NOT START.

I AM WRITING TO ADVISE A COMPLAINT REGARDING OUR 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE LTZ DOOR HANDLES. IN APRIL 2011, THE OUTSIDE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HANDLE CAME PARTIALLY UNATTACHED FROM THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE. THE HANDLE CAME LOOSE ONLY ON ONE SIDE (THE FAR LEFT) LEAVING IT ATTACHED FROM ONLY THE FAR RIGHT. THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED TO THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR PASSENGER WITHIN THE LAST WEEK. THAT IS 2 HANDLES IN 2 MONTHS. MY 5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER PINCHED HER FINGER IN THE UNATTACHED SPACE WHILE ATTEMPTING TO OPEN THE DOOR. 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE HAS FAULTY CHROME DOOR HANDLES OWNED THE SUV FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR. ALL 4 HAVE BEEN REPLACED BUT WITH THE SAME FAULTY HANDLES. RECENTLY THE DRIVERS HANDLE BROKE AGAIN. THIS TIME MY HUSBAND HAD TO TIE AND HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED TO GET TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY WANTED US TO PAY FOR THE LAST 2 B/C IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY. THEY SAID IT'S A ONE TIME COMP. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 3 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING I NOTICE A NOISE AND A DELAY IN GEAR SHIFTS SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAD THEIR MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND CAME UP WITH THE TRANSMISSION WAS BAD SO THEY ORDERED ONE AND TRIED TO INSTALL IT AND WHEN I WENT TO PICK IT UP AND DROVE IT SEVERAL DAYS THE SAME PROBLEM WAS THERE SO I TOOK IT BACK AND THEY CONTINUED TO TRY AND FIX IT TWO OTHER TIMES WITHIN 3 MONTHS NOW SAYING I WENT OVER MY 10,000 MILES SO I NEED TO PAY FOR THE TRANSMISSION. I DRIVE THE CAR MAYBE 5 MONTHS AND THE OTHER MONTHS IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP.

I WAS DRIVING IN THE SNOW GOING 5MPH AND THE TIRES BEGAN TO SPIN. THE CAR WAS IN AUTOMATIC FOR 4 WHEEL DRIVE BUT DID NOT KICK INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE SO I SLID OFF THE ROAD. I WAS OFF ROAD ON A SLIGHT INCLINE AND THE CAR WOULDNT GO INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE. IT SAID SERVICE 4 WHEEL DRIVE AND THE KNOB WILL TURN BUT THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE WILL NOT ACTIVATE. NOTHING HAPPENED OTHER THAN THE CAR NOT GOING TO 4 WHEEL DRIVE WHEN THE KNOB HAS BEEN TURNED. *JS

The oil keeps disappearing in the car I fill it with 7 Quartz of oil and two months or less it’s all gone I heard there was a issue with this before but no recall my engine almost blew two weeks after a oil change I thought that’s wrong I have oil so I had it reset then three months later my engine was ticking so I took it in and there was no oil they put 7 more quartz of oil and no again it’s all gone I had more put back in and I think this should be a recall I called the dealer and they said they won’t do anything unless I pay for it to be fixed but it’s been a known issue for years and they don’t do nothing about it I am a young person that doesn’t have $3,000 to pay to fix this issue I believe Chevy should.

OUR 2007 CHEVY TAHOE HAD BEEN DRIVEN FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND THEN PARKED FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO HOURS. UPON STARTING THE TAHOE WITH COLD ENGINE AND PULLING AWAY FROM THE CURB THERE WAS AN IMMEDIATE SMELL OF SOMETHING TOXIC COMING FROM THE AIR VENTS FOLLOWED BY BLACK SMOKE FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AND TURNED OFF AND LESS THAN A MINUTE LATER THERE WERE FLAMES EMANATING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND WITHIN A COUPLE OF MINUTES THE HOOD WAS BLOWN OPEN AND THE ENTIRE FRONT OF THE CAR WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES.

OUR 2007 CHEVY TAHOE HAS HAD TO HAVE 2 DOOR HANDLES REPLACED IN THE LAST 2 YEARS. BOTH HANDLES HAVE EXPERIENCED THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. THE PIECE WHICH CONNECTS THE HANDLE TO THE DOOR SNAPS ALLOWING IT TO MOVE FREELY FROM THE DOORS. THESE INCIDENTS BOTH OCCURRED WHEN THE PERSON ENTERING THE VEHICLE TRIED TO PULL ON THE HANDLE TO OPEN THE DOOR. ONE INCIDENT WAS DUE TO MY WIFE OPENING THE DOOR AND THE OTHER OCCURRED WHEN A 14 YEAR OLD TRIED TO OPEN THE DOOR. WE HAVE HAD IT REPLACED ONCE AND NOW HAVE TO DO THE SAME AGAIN. THE TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP RUSTS OUT. THE FUEL TANK HAS A DESIGN FLAW THAT HOLDS WATER AROUND THE FUEL PUMP. THE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL LINES ON TOP OF THE TANK RUST OUT AND CAUSES GAS AND FUMES TO ESCAPE THE TANK. FUEL WILL SPRAY ONTO EXHAUST AND UNDER THE VEHICLE CAUSING A FIRE HAZARD. ALSO EXCESSIVE FUEL VAPORS ESCAPE THE TANK. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM ONLINE AND THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS TO GM OF THE PROBLEM BUT GM HAS NOT ADDRESSED THE PROBLEM. I AM NOT LOOKING FOR ANY MONETARY GAIN I SIMPLY WANT GM TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED. MY 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE DEVELOPED A FUEL LEAK AT THE DISCHARGE OF THE FUEL PUMP. THE LEAK OCCURRED ON THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK DIRECTLY BELOW THE LEFT REAR PASSENGER SEAT. THE LEAK SPRAYED FUEL ALL OVER THE GAS TANK AND BOTTOM OF THE TRUCK BODY. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF THE ATOMIZED FUEL STARTING ON FIRE. THE DRIVER OR PASSENGERS COULD HAVE BEEN SEVERELY BURNED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN THE LEAK OCCURRED. I NOTICED A VERY STRONG SMELL OF FUEL, I PULLED OVER AND GAS WAS DRIPPING OFF OF THE FUEL TANK. THE FUEL LINE DEPRESSURIZED AFTER THE ENGINE WAS SHUT OFF AND CONTINUED TO SPRAY GAS FOR 10 TO 15 SECONDS.

ON THURSDAY MAY 19TH AT 8:35 PM, WHILE I WAS DRIVING HOME ON I-696W WHEN MY DRIVER'S SEATBELT BELT DISENGAGED AND RETRACTED ON ITS OWN. WHILE DRIVING, I IMMEDIATELY TRY TO RECONNECT THE BELT INTO THE BUCKLE, BUT IT WOULD NOT GO IN. I MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO RECONNECT. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO GET IT INTO THE BUCKLE. WHEN I ARRIVED HOME IN MY GARAGE AND PRECEDED TO GET OUT, THE SEATBELT WOULD NOT COME OUT. I HAD TO STRUGGLE AND PULL ON THE SEATBELT SEVERAL TIMES WHILE TRYING TO PUSH THE BUCKLE RELEASE BUTTON. AFTER 10 MINUTES, I WAS FREE. THE NEXT MORNING (5/20/16) WHILE GOING TO WORK, THE SEATBELT CAME OUT AGAIN. IT WOULD GO IN AND IF I MOVED FORWARD, THE BELT WOULD DISENGAGE. MY SEATBELT CONTINUED TO SLIP OUT OF THE BUCKLE. AS OF MAY 23RD, MY SEATBELT WILL NOT EVEN GO INTO THE BUCKLE. I CANNOT ENGAGE THE DRIVER'S SEATBELT AT ALL!! Brand new tires installed on vehicle by Americas Tire store on 7/29/24. Received a phone call from our son 7/30/24 7pm of complete tire blow out on hwy. Lost control of vehicle but managed to pull off hwy where he proceeded to contact us as well as AAA. Took back in to Americas Tire said they would replace tire but had no explanation as to why this happened on a brand new tire. According to AAA a lot of tire manufacturers cutting corners producing defective tires.

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact was unable to refuel the vehicle, due to the filler pipe not allowing the vehicle to accept the fuel. The contact stated it took her 30 - 45 minutes to refill the vehicle. The contact also stated occasionally while refueling, the fuel would start to leak. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and was informed that the evap system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 235,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT OBTAINED AN ONSTAR REPORT TO SPECIFY THE DIAGNOSTIC FAILURE CODES THAT FLASHED EACH TIME THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO START THE VEHICLE AS THE ELECTRICAL SHORTAGE AND THE AIR BAG FAILURE PROGRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V381000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 218,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE DIGITAL INFORMATION CENTER (DIC) LOCATED IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) HAS STOPPED WORKING. HOWEVER, ALL OF THE NON-DIGITAL GAUGES SUCH AS SPEEDOMETER, FUEL, ETC STILL WORK PROPERLY. ALL OF THE DIGITAL DISPLAYED INFO SUCH AS ODOMETER, GEAR SELECT, MPG, TIRE PSI, ETC, IS NO LONGER VISISBLE. THIS DEFECT/MALFUNCTION OCCURRED UNEXPECTEDLY ABOUT 4 MONTHS AGO. THE DEFECT/MALFUNCTION OCCURED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED (NOT MOVING) IN MY DRIVEWAY. I SIMPLY GOT IN AND TURNED THE KEY ON TO START THE ENGINE, AND THE DIC WAS NOTICEABLY BLANK. I LOOKED ON-LINE AND CALLED SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS FOR INFO REGARDING REPAIRS,, AND I QUICKLY LEARNED THAT THIS EXACT DEFECT/MALFUNCTION IS EXTREMELY COMMON AMONG 2007-2016 CHEVROLET AND GMC VEHICLES. GM SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE BY ISSUING A RECALL. ALSO, FOR NO REASON AND WITHOUT ANY CAUSE, MY DASHBOARD CRACKED ABOVE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. THIS IS ALSO A VERY COMMON DEFECT WITH MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE MAKE/MODEL. IF THE AIRBAGS WERE TO DEPLOY, WOULD THEY DEPLOY PROPERLY? AND EVEN IF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY PROPERLY, IM AFRAID SHARDS OF THE PLASTIC FROM DASHBOARD WILL SHOOT ALL OVER THE CAR RESULTING IN INJURY.

I PURCHASED A NEW 2007 CHEVY TAHOE IN JULY OF 2007. SEPTEMBER 2007 I HAD TO TAKE THE SUV IN TO HAVE THE REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER CABLE REATTACHED TO THE REAR WINDOW, IT FELL OFF. AFTER DISCUSSING WITH SERVICE MANAGER, I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A DESIGN DEFECT, THE WIRE WAS NOT LONG ENOUGH AND THE TENSION FROM OPENING THE REAR GLASS CAUSES THE CABLE TO BREAK FREE. THEY HAD A WINDOW COMPANY RE-ATTACH IT, ONE WEEK LATER, I WAS BACK IN AND A NEW REAR WINDOW WAS ORDERED. IN NOVEMBER 2008 I HAD THE CABLE BREAK FREE ON THE REPLACED REAR WINDOW, I HAD IT REPAIR, THAN THE OTHER SIDE DETACHED. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY ADVISE THAT IT COULD NOT BE FIXED BASED ON THE INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE RELEASED SERVICE CORPORATION BULLETIN (#03-08-48-006E). I FEEL SINCE THIS BULLETIN WAS RELEASED, THIS IS A CONFESSION OF A DESIGN DEFECT AND THE CUSTOMER SHOULD NOT BE LIABLE. WE HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH OUR FRONT WIPERS TURNING ON AND SQUIRTING WIPER FLUID IN THE OFF (YES THE OFF) POSITION WHILE WE ARE DRIVING. I AM FILING A COMPLAINT IN REGARDS TO THE CHEVY TAHOE 2007 LTZ MODEL I OWN. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN CLAIMED BY THOUSANDS OF OWNERS TO HAVE A FACTORY BAD DASHBOARD. THE DASHBOARD IS MADE WITH A VERY CHEAP AND UNSAFE PLASTIC. THIS PLASTIC CRACKS DUE TO NATURAL CAUSES FROM HEAT AND COLD. THE PLASTIC ALSO AFTER SOME TIME WILL CRACK AND DETERIORATE AGAIN DUE TO UNSAFE AND POOR PLASTIC MATERIAL. THE REMEDY IS TO PURCHASE A NEW DASHBOARD PANEL AND PAY FOR THE PROFESSIONAL LABOR TO INSTALL. THIS PRODUCT COST SHOULD BE SHARD AT A BARE MINIMUM BY GM DUE TO GOOD FAITH PRACTICES. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE MY CLAIM REVIEWED AND PASSED ON TO GM FOR THE PURPOSE OF CORRECTING THIS UNSAFE FACTORY PLASTIC DASHBOARD. THE AIRBAGS CAN CREATE AND CAUSE A HIGHLY UNSAFE DEPLOYMENT BY EXPLODING CHEAP AND SHARP SHARD OF PLASTIC INTO THE EYES AND FACE OF THE PASSENGER/DRIVER. DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN THREE LOCATIONS. 1ST AND 2ND: OVER PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG FROM UPPER CORNERS OF THE AIRBAG TO THE AIR-VENT PANEL 3RD: APPROXIMATELY 8 INCHES ALONG THE TOP OF THE DRIVER INSTRUMENT PANEL TO THE AIR-VENT PANEL. ADDITIONAL SEPARATION BETWEEN PANELS IS CREATED DURING TEMPERATURE CHANGES OR RUNNING THE HEATER IN COLD WEATHER. HAVE HAD TWO DEALERSHIPS TELL ME IT IS A NORMAL, KNOWN, AND REOCCURRING PROBLEM WITH THE BODY-STYLE BUT OFFERED TO REPLACE IT FOR OVER $1,000.

MY 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE WILL SPORADICALLY DISPLAY TWO M.I.L. 'S - SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL AND SERVICE STABILITRAK. I HAVE SPENT CLOSE TO $4,000 ON DIFFERENT PARTS, AS WELL AS HAVING THE HEADS COMPLETELY REBUILT ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGO. THE ONLY TROUBLE CODES IT SHOWS WHEN HOOKED TO A SCANNER ARE A P0300 (GENERIC MISFIRE DETECTED) P0301 (MISFIRE CYLINDER 1) AND 0443 (EVAP EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM VALVE CIRCUIT). AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS OF RESEARCH ONLINE, IT IS BLATANTLY OBVIOUS THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL THOUSAND PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES. IT APPEARS THERE IS NO DIRECT SUREFIRE RESOLUTION. BUT RATHER A COMMON OCCURRENCE THAT IS SOMETIMES VERY LABOR INTENSIVE AND EXTREMELY INVASIVE TO TRACK DOWN THE SPECIFIC PROBLEM. I HAVE REPLACED THE BRAKE LIGHT CONTROL SWITCH, ADDED A SECONDARY BACKUP BATTERY AS WELL AS ADDITIONAL POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE CABLES, REPLACE THE PLUGS, PLUG WIRES AND IGNITION COIL PACKS. IT SEEMS TO BE A RECURRING ISSUE AND AT THIS POINT I HAVE AS MUCH MONEY INVESTED IN REPAIRING THE VEHICLE AS I HAVE SPENT PURCHASING IT. I AM NOT THE TYPE OF PERSON TO SELL THIS TRUCK AND LET'S HAVE THE MISFORTUNE OF DEALING WITH SUCH ISSUES BUT AFTER SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS SPENT AND DISCOVERING THAT IT IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AMONGST CHEVROLET / GM SUVS AND TRUCKS, PARTICULARLY WITH THE 5.3 L ENGINE, I FEEL GENERAL MOTORS SHOULD AT LEAST COVER THE EXPENSE OF REPAIRING IT OR LET ME TRADE IT IN TOWARDS A NEWER MODEL WITH A SUFFICIENT CREDIT APPLIED. THE ISSUES I'M EXPERIENCING SEEM TO HAPPEN WHEN I AM STOPPING OR ACCELERATING ABOVE 40 MILES PER HOUR. IF I AM SIMPLY CRUISING ALONG AT 25 MILES PER HOUR STEADILY AND NOT ACCELERATING OR BREAKING, IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE AS PREVALENT. WHILE DRIVING MY 2007 CHEV TAHOE TODAY, WHILE IN MOTION, THE STABILITRAK WARNING CAME UP ON MY DASH ALONG WITH TRACTION CONTROL WARNING. THEN THE ENGINE STARTED STRUGGLING. I GOOGLED THESE PROBLEMS AND IT APPEARS GM RECALLED MODELS FROM 2014 AND 2015 WITH THE SAME ISSUES. THEY NEED TO RECALL ALL IMPACTED MODELS. IF THIS CAUSES THE ENGINE TO LOSE POWER, IT COULD CAUSE A DANGEROUS SITUATION.

THE VEHICLE HAS A FAULTY THROTTLE BODY AND THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR THAT CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO "ENGINE POWER REDUCED" MODE WHICH BASICALLY MEANS THE VEHICLE DOESN'T MOVE. THE ENGINE IS STILL RUNNING, BUT THE VEHICLE IS INOPERABLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME DOZENS OF TIMES, IN INTERSECTIONS, AND I HAVE TO ROLL OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. ADDITIONALLY, THE INTAKE GASKETS LEAK ALLOWING FLUID INTO THE ENGINE. THE DASH CRACKED. WE HAVE ALSO REPLACED THE AIR RIDE SHOCKS (LTZ MODEL), THE CONNECTOR WILL WEAR A HOLE IN THE SHOCK. WE HAVE ALSO REPLACED BROKEN MOTOR MOUNTS AND TIE ROD ENDS. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE WAS CONSTANTLY RUNNING HOT AND WE REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT AND RADIATOR. THE VEHICLE LEAKS OIL AND OUR MECHANIC SAID THAT IT'S THE REAR MAIN SEAL THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.

TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER, AND THEY SAID TO ROTATE TO BACK AND DRIVE IT ANOTHER 5000 MILES AND SEE IF THE FRONT TIRES DO THE SAME THING. I FEEL LIKE THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE DONE, BUT THEY DID NOTHING. I NOW WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MY OPTIONS. I FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY WHILE DRIVING IN THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE ALSO HAD TO REPLACE MY HEATER CORE INPUT VALVE. I HAVE READ THAT THIS HAS TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT THE VEHICLE USES DEX-COOL. I AM UNSURE OF WHAT TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT DEX-COOL HAS BEEN FOUND TO EAT AWAY AT HOSES, O-RINGS, GASKETS, AND OTHER PARTS OF WHICH DEX-COOL COMES INTO CONTACT WITH. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO REPORT THAT MY OIL PRESSURE SENDING UNIT ALSO NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, IT IS NO LONGER SENDING PRESSURE READINGS TO THE DASHBOARD. MY ISSUES STARTED ALMOST TWO YEARS AGO WHEN DROPPING MY CHILD OFF AT DAYCARE. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND NOTICED A LOUD TICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. AT FIRST I WAS NOT SURE WHAT IT WAS UNTIL I PULLED IN THE DAYCARE AND IT WAS EVIDENT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. AT THAT POINT THE STABLITRAK AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT STARTED FLASHING. I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED BECAUSE I TRIED TO MOVE IT AND WHEN I PUT IT IN GEAR IT JERKED SO HARD I WAS SCARED THE ENGINE BLEW. I TOOK IT TO THE CERTIFIED CHEVY MECHANIC, CYLINDER 6 MISFIRE. WE REPLACED THE PLUGS, COIL PACKS ETC, TRYING TO SEE WHAT THE ISSUE COULD BE. HE FINALLY REPLACED ALL 16 LIFTERS, CAM, HEAD GASKETS AND OIL PUMP AS WELL. ONCE HE GOT IT TOGETHER, IT WAS STILL A MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 6. HE TOOK IT APART TO LOOK AT THE PISTONS, THEY WERE FINE. THE TOP OF THE MOTOR HE PRACTICALLY EVERYTHING BRAND NEW ON IT. THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP ARE AWARE OF THE LIFTER ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE AND BLATANTLY TOLD ME, I NEED A NEW ENGINE OR COULD PURCHASE A NEW VEHICLE. STILL NO RESOLVE AS OF JUNE 23, 2020! I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE PREVIOUS COMPLAINT...IRONICALLY, MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN TX TOO, BUT, I PURCHASED IT USED IN VA IN 2011 ODOMETER-73,625. TO DATE, I ONLY HAVE 101,225- I STARTED HAVING CONSTANT STABILITRACK/TRACTION CONTROL ISSUES RIGHT AFTER 100,000- CAUSED STEERING WHEEL TO LOCK UP AND LOSS OF POWER IN ADDITION TO DOOR LOCKS SUDDENLY LOCKING/UNLOCKING, CAR ALARM GOING OFF, AND HAZARD BLINKERS NOT WORKING (ALL WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC)! AFTER THIS CONSTANT ISSUE WAS "REPAIRED"-FOR 6TH TIME, A FEW MONTHS LATER, I EXPERIENCED A DIFFERENT PROBLEM. AFTER WAITING AT A STOP LIGHT, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE-I HAD TO PUSH GAS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, BARELY REACHING 20MPH, THEN, THE CAR STARTED SHAKING & TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, THE BRAKES WERE BARELY WORKING. THANKFULLY, I WAS NEAR A PARKING LOT & WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER. THIS TIME I THINK IT IS A BCM OR PCS ISSUE. IT SEEMS THE "FLEX-FUEL" 4WD 2007 TAHOES ARE HAVING MAJOR ISSUES. MY 2007 TAHOE ALL OF THE SUDDEN STARTED SHAKING AND BUCKING WHILE DRIVING WITH MY WIFE AND TWO SMALL KIDS (ON VALENTINES! WIFE WAS NOT HAPPY). THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL AS WARNING MESSAGES SAYING THE TRACTION CONTROL FAILED, CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM AND SERVICE STABILINK SYSTEM. IT LIMPED TO OUR HOUSE AND THEN IT STALLED AND EVENTUALLY WAS VERY HARD TO START. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP NEXT MORNING AND WAS TOLD THAT THE #6 LIFTER COLLAPSED AND THEY NEEDED TO CHECK THE CAMSHAFT TO SEE IF THAT WAS DAMAGED. I'M STILL WAITING ON THE CALL TO SEE WHAT THE TOTAL DAMAGE IS BUT I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. I ALSO SAW A LOT OF PEOPLE'S COMPLAINTS ONLINE OF THE SAME THING. GM NEEDS TO OWN UP AND RECALL THIS ISSUE. THE ESTIMATE I GOT WAS AROUND $3,500-$4,500 TO REPAIR THIS.

UNDER NUMEROUS CIRCUMSTANCES, THE "SERVICE STABLILITRAK AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL " APPEARS IN THE DASH MESSAGE CENTER ALONG WITH AUDIBLE BEEPS. SHORTLY AFTER THIS HAPPENS THE VEHICLE ENGINE GOES INTO LIMP MODE WITH LIMITED POWER AND SPEED. I HAVE BEEN ON INTERSTATES WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC AND THIS BECOMES CHALLENGING TO REMEDY ASAP AND GET OUT OF THE WAY. THE ORIGINAL PART SUGGESTED WAS THE THROTTLE BODY, THIS WAS REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO GO AWAY FOR 12-16 MONTH. THE PROBLEM HAS COME BACK AND THE THROTTLE BODY IS NOT SUSPECT THIS TIME. THE DEALER BASCIALLY TROUBLE SHOOTS THE PROBLEM WITH PARTS.

HAD JUST EXITED THE FREEWAY AND WAS GOING ABOUT 30 MPH ON A HIGH TRAFFIC STREET (SPEED LIMIT IS 55) WHEN MY CAR STARTED SHAKING AND THE ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON, ENGINE STABILIZING, BRAKE LIGHT TURNED ON, TRACK CONTROL STABILIZING, EVERY LIGHT/SENSOR TURNED ON AS MY CAR WAS SHUTTING DOWN. THE ENGINE WAS STILL ON AND WAS SHAKING BUT I COULD NOT DRIVE. I TURNED THE CAR OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THEN TURNED IT BACK ON JUST SO I CAN TRY TO GET BACK TO WORK. I OWN A 2007 CHEVY TAHOE WITH ABOUT 46000 MILES. ABOUT THREE WEEKS AGO THE FUEL GAUGE BEGAN TO MALFUNCTION AND READ INACCURATE FUEL LEVELS. Have owned the vehicle since new. For a long time I had been "topping off" the brake fluid in the master cylinder. Finally got a message on the dash telling me to "service brakes soon" that would come and go. Eventually made it to our local Chevrolet dealer while the message was displayed for diagnostic purposes. Was told code "C0299" was found regarding brake booster pressure sensor performance. Vehicle was repaired by replacing the master cylinder and hydraulic brake booster. A large amount of brake fluid was found inside the booster upon disassembly. Obviously had been leaking brake fluid from the master cylinder into the brake booster for a long time. Saw that Ford had a recent recall for a similar problem and I thought it was worth reporting. I retained both the master cylinder and brake booster for inspection if needed. Fortunately no incidents occurred due to this part failure before replacement.

VEHICLE 2 CROSSED CENTER LINE AND WENT INTO A SPIN CRASHING INTO THE DOOR AND RIGHT FRONT WHEEL AND FENDER WHICH PROPELLED/LAUNCHED MY 2007 TAHOE ACROSS ONE LANE OF TRAFFIC INTO THE GUARD RAIL STRIKING THE GUARD RAIL WITH MY PASSENGER FRONT FENDER AND BUMPER. MY TAHOE WAS TOTALED BY INSURANCE. ONSTAR WHICH I HAVE PAID FOR SINCE 2007 DID NOT REGISTER THE CRASH AND MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. VEHICLE WILL ACCELERATE AND MAX OUT AT FUEL CUT-OFF. ACCELERATION IS UNRESPONSIVE TO BRAKE APPLICATION TO INCLUDE 100% APPLICATION, RESULTING IN SMOKE AND ODOR. VEHICLE CANNOT BE STOPPED OTHER THAN PLACING THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL AND TURNING THE IGNITION OFF. UPON RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, RPM WILL IMMEDIATELY CLIMB TO IN EXCESS OF 5000 RPM. ACCELERATION PROBLEMS NORMALLY OCCUR AT HIGHER SPEEDS BUT HAVE OCCURRED ALSO ON CITY STREETS. THE PROBLEM THEN RESETS ITSELF AT ITS DISCRETION. CHEVEROLET HAS BEEN "WORKING" ON FINDING THE PROBLEM SINCE SEPTEMBER, TOTAL IN EXCESS OF 90 DAYS. I WAS PROVIDED WITH A VEHICLE DATA RECORDER (VDR) TO IMAGE THE ISSUE. VDR HAS A CABLE PLUGGED INTO VEHICLE COMPUTER THE DANGLES BETWEEN THE GAS/BRAKE PEDAL AND DRIVER POSING AN ADDITIONAL HAZARD. VEHICLE IS AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD LIKELY TO RESULT IN GREAT BODILY INJURY AND/OR DEATH. I AM UNABLE TO AND HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO ENJOY AND UTILIZE THE VEHICLE FOR THE PURPOSES TO WHICH IT WAS INTENDED FOR/PURCHASED AND HAVE BEEN PLACED IN A SEVERELY RISKY POSITION BY CHEVROLET. I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK, DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE "STABILITRAK OFF", "TRACTION CONTROL OFF", ABS LIGHT, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALL CAME ON, SIMULTANEOUSLY. MY SPEEDOMETER AND OTHER GAUGES STARTED SWINGING FROM LEFT TO RIGHT AND THEN FLATLINED, MY POWER LOCKS, "LOCKED AND UNLOCKED" . WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED, THE WHOLE TAHOE JERKED. I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND AS I TOOK OFF THE STABILITRACK SAID IT NEED TO BE SERVICED AND THE ENGINE POWER WAS REDUCED. TOOK TO SHOP AND THEY RESET THE COMPUTER AND EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE. NOW 4 DAYS LATER I WAS IN THE CAR WASH PARKED WITH THE CAR RUNNING WHILE I WAS VACUUMING AND LOST ALL POWER AND STABILITRACK DID THE SAME THING. AFTER WAITING 10 MINUTES OR SO I WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE AND DRIVE IT TO THE SHOP AGAIN. THEY SAID IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND IT DOESN'T HAVE A TRUE "FIX" AT THIS POINT. *TR

THE PROBLEM IS STATED IN TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN PIP4568S & #10-06-01-008M THAT GM SENT OUT REGARDING AFN LIFTERS FAILING DUE TO OIL STARVATION. GM KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND SENT OUT THE INFORMATION ON HOW TO DIAGNOSE IT AND FIX IT. HOWEVER THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM IN THE 5.3L ENGINES AND A VERY EXPENSIVE PROBLEM! IN MY SITUATION IT CAUSED A SOAK PLUG AND THE SPARK PLUG HOUSING TO BLOW COMPLETELY OUT OF THE ENGINE! WHICH COULD HAVE INJURED SOMEONE OR CAUSED DAMAGE TO SOMETHING IF IT HAD GOTTEN OUT OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. I WAS ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY GOING 50 MPH WITH HIGH TRAFFIC. AS STATED THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND GM WON'T EVEN COVER ANY PORTION OF THE COST TO FIX IT! IN MY CASE I ONLY OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR 4 MONTHS AND HAD THIS HAPPEN. I AM NOW PAYING FOR A VEHICLE THAT I CAN BARELY DRIVE AND SHOULDNT BE DRIVING! AT ANY MOMENT THE WHOLE ENGINE COULD BLOW UP BUT I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO DRIVE IT UNTIL I HAVE THE $4000 TO FIX IT! GM SHOULD HAVE TO COVER REPAIRS OR AT LEAST A PORTION OF THE COST OF REPAIRS! I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THE WEB REGARDING THIS PROBLEM FROM OTHER OWNERS OF THE VEHICLES EFFECTED BY PIP4568S & #10-06-01-008M. YET GM WILL NOT HELP CONSUMERS IN ANY WAY AT ALL WITH THE EXPENSIVE COST OF THIS REPAIR! WITH THE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS I HAVE SEEN IT SHOULD BE A RECALL! THERE COULD BE OTHER SAFETY ISSUES THAT OTHER OWNERS COULD HAVE HAD ALSO. THIS KNOWN PROBLEM ALSO EFFECTS OTHER FUNCTIONS OF THE VEHICLE SUCH AS STABILITAK SYSTEM. CYLINDER 1,3,5,7 IN ENGINE HAS MISFIRES, THIS ENGING HAS THE AFM AND TJEVV4/V8 MODE IS WEARING OUT THE ENGINES AND CAUSING THEM TO FAIL. MY ENGINE HAS HAD THE VALVE LIFTERS FAIL. MY ENGINE NOW HAS A TAPPING SOUND, AND AFTER TAKING TO GARAGE THEY HAVE INFORMED ME THIS IS AN ONGPING ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR OF TAHOE AND PROBLEM IS VERY COMMON AND THEY SAID IT IS S BAD DESIGN. I WAS DRIVING 70MPH ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN CYLINDERS 13,5,7 STARTED MISFIRING, CAR WENT FROM 70MPH TO LESS THEN 40 MPH AND STARTED SHAKING AND STUDDERRING, ASLNOST GOT TEARENDED ON THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE OF THIS.AFTER GARAGE INSPECTED VEHICLE THEY HAVE DETERMINED THE VALVE LIFTERS, CAM SHAFT ARE BAD IN THE ENGINE AND HAVE CAUSE THE TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILTRACK ERRORS IN MY TAHOE. SO NOW I HAVE TO GET THE ENGINE REBUILT BECAUSE OF GM BAD ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT DESIGN,(AFM) I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING OF THE ISSUE SINCE MY TAHOE HAD BEEN USING A QUART OF OIL EVERY OIL CHANGE

RECALLS ON NUMEROUS GM VEHICLES FOR CATCHING FIRE: THE VEHICLE WAS SETTING IN DRIVEWAY FOR OVER 7 HOURS AND NEIGHBORS WERE AWAKEN BY LOUD EXPLOSION AND LOOKED OUT AND SAW FLAMES UNDER THE HOOD. THEY WOKE MYSELF AND MY DAUGHTER UP OUT OF DEEP SLEEP AND CAR WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. FROM FRONT BUMPER TO BACK CARGO AREA TOTAL LOSS. FIRE DEPARTMENT CAME BUT COULDN'T SALVAGE THE CAR. THE GARAGE DOOR, GARAGE ENTRY DOOR AND DOWNSTAIRS BASEMENT WERE DAMAGED AD POSSIBLE REPLACEMENT ON THEM. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANY SIGNS OF OVER HEATING, OR SMOKING, AND ANY TYPE OF BURNING SMELLS.

I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN AN ALARM I HAD NEVER HEARD BEFORE STARTED GOING OFF IN MY CAR AND I COULDN'T MOVE MY STEERING WHEEL CAUSING ME TO HIT A HANDICAPPED PARKING SIGN/POLE IN THE PARKING SPACE NEXT TO THE ONE I WAS TRYING TO BACK OUT OF. I REPORTED TO CHEVROLET THAT MY TAHOE WAS MAKING A CLUNKING SOUND WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. I ALSO INFORMED THEM THAT I HAD GONE TO A LOCAL SERVICE SHOP TO HAVE THREE WHEEL ALIGNMENTS AS THE TIRES WERE FEATHERING (INNER WEAR OF THE TIRE). DATE ARE 05/31/2008 WHEELS REPLACED(2) AND ALIGNMENT DONE. 07/15/2009 2 WHEELS REPLACED. 11/05/2009 ALIGNMENT DONE, 01/25/2010 ALIGNMENT DONE. DEALER DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A FAULTY INTERMEDIATE DRIVE SHAFT AFTER A WEEK LONG INSPECTION. SHAFT WAS REPLACED AT DEALER ON 02/2010. SERVICE ADVISOR STATES THAT THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TIRE WEAR. *TR

THE DEALER ADJUSTED THE JOINT/BALL POSITION, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE REPAIR. THE FAILURE STILL PERSISTS. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. WE PURCHASED A 2007 TAHOE IN AUGUST 2012. SINCE THIS TIME, MY WIFE AND I HAVE BOTH EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL STARTING ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. A JUMP START OR BOOST WILL OFTEN ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO START. HOWEVER, THERE HAVE BEEN SITUATIONS WHERE WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND AN AVAILABLE BOOST. WE HAVE BEEN STRANDED IN PARKING LOTS, FAMILY VACATIONS, WORK, AND OUR KIDS GAMES OR PRACTICES. AS NOTED IN MANY OF THE COMPLAINTS, THE STARTING PROBLEMS ARE INTERMITTENT AND THERE ARE TIMES A BOOST WILL NOT START THE VEHICLE. IN FACT, WE EVEN BEGAN TO LOSE POWER TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS DURING A FAMILY VACATION THIS PAST SUMMER. THIS IS VERY DISTURBING ISSUE FOR GM AND THEIR APPARENT INABILITY OR UNWILLINGNESS TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. WHILE DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL ENABLED TRAVELING AT 70 MPH WITH RPM AT 2000 RPM, THE 2007 TAHOE SURGED, JERKED IF YOU WILL, AS IF THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS TELLING THE VEHICLE IT WAS GOING TOO SLOW. HITTING THE BRAKES DID NOT DISENGAGED CRUISE CONTROL. ENGINE RACED TO 4000 RPM AND LOCKED AT 4000 RPM! SUCCESSFULLY SHIFTED VEHICLE TO NEUTRAL AND WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD AND I CAN ONLY HOPE THE NEXT PERSON THIS HAPPENS TO WILL BE AS LUCKY. HAD TO TURN VEHICLE OFF TO REDUCE ENGINE RPM FROM THE 4000 RPM IT WAS LOCKED ON. CALLED ON STAR AND INFORMED THEM OF WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY RAN A TEST WHICH INDICATED NO PROBLEM. VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART ON FIRST FOUR ATTEMPTS. DISABLED CRUISE CONTROL BUTTON ON STEERING WHEEL, WHICH WAS GLOWING YELLOW, AND THE ENGINE STARTED. GM CUSTOMER SERVICE CONTACTED, FILE 71-965035291 AND GM REFUSED TO REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL AS THE LOCAL DEALER IN SAN ANGELO TX INDICATED THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE CONCERN. IF SHOULD BE NOTED IT WAS 104 DEGREES AND THE ENGINE HAD BEEN RUNNING FOR OVER AN HOUR AND 100 MILES WITH THE VEHICLE LOADED WITH 5 PEOPLE AND LUGGAGE. THE LOCAL DEALER DID NOT DUPLICATE THE EXACT CONDITIONS AND INSTEAD DID A TEST DRIVE OF 60 MILES WITHOUT THE LOAD OR HIGH TEMPERATURE. TALKED TO SARAH AT 866 790 8601 EXT 12869 AND SHE PASSED ME ON TO VICTORIA, DAVID, AND THEN BACK TO VICTORIA. I AM AN EQUIPMENT ENGINEER AND VICTORIA DID NOT APPEAR TO HAVE ANY TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE. GM DID NOT TAKE MY OFFER TO REMOVE MY CRUISE CONTROL SO THEY COULD BENCH TEST THE UNIT AND ADD HEAT TO DRIVE THE FAULTY COMPONENT TO FAIL. GM, SPECIFICALLY VICTORIA, WANTS TO WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE ELSE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. I KNOW THIS LACK OF ACTION BY CHEVY/GM SEEMS HARD TO BELIEVE BUT THE DESCRIPTION I HAVE PROVIDED IS ACCURATE.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DRIVEN FOR 10 HOURS WHEN A FIRE STARTED UNDER THE HOOD AND CAUSED THE FRONT TIRE TO EXPLODE. THE ENTIRE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE MELTED ON THE GROUND. THE VEHICLE WAS APPROXIMATELY A FOOT FROM THE HOUSE AND AS HIGH AS THE TWO STORY HOUSE. AFTER HEARING THE EXPLOSION, THE CONTACTS HUSBAND USED A GARDEN HOSE TO KEEP THE FLAMES AWAY FROM THE HOUSE. AN ADDITIONAL VEHICLE THAT BELONGS TO THE CONTACT WAS DAMAGED BY THE FIRE. THERE WAS ALSO PROPERTY DAMAGE TO THE SIDING AND BRICKS ON THE HOUSE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE, FILED A REPORT, AND STATED THAT THE CAUSE WAS AN ELECTRICAL SHORT. THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOWED THE VEHICLE TO GENERAL MOTORS TO CONDUCT AN INVESTIGATION. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 9000.UPDATE 09/10/08 *CW UPDATED 09/17/08. *JB

THE DASH CRACKED ON PASSENGER SIDE 80 K.THIS VEHICLE IS VERY WELL-MAINTAINED IT LOOKS LIKE IT ROLLED OFF THE SHOWROOM FLOOR. TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL WHAT A JOKE. SO YOU RECALL THE VEHICLE BUT YOU DON'T HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX IT. THE VEHICLE HAS A DEFECT IN THE FUEL SYSTEM, I STARTED NOTICING IT WHEN I WOULD FILL UP WITH FUEL. IT HAS TO BUILD THE PRESSURE UP BEFORE IT'LL START. MANY MECHANICS TOLD ME THIS IS A DEFECT. KAT FRIDAY NIGHT I RAN AN ERRAND. PULLED IN THE DRIVEWAY EXITED THE VEHICLE HIT THE KEY FOB TO LOCK THE VEHICLE. I GO OUT THE NEXT MORNING AND I CAN SMELL BURNT WIRES. THE WINDOW/POWER LOCKS/MIRRORS MODULE ON DRIVERS SIDE DOOR CAUGHT ON FIRE. LUCKILY IT SHORTED OUT THE MODULE, BUT IT BURNT UP AND MELTED ONE OF THE CONNECTORS. THIS JUST HAPPENED SO I HAVE NOT HAD TIME TO FIGURE THE CAUSE. BURNS 2 QUARTS OF OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. GENERAL MOTORS THREW ME UNDER THE BUS IN 1988 ON A BRAND NEW PICK UP TRUCK WITH THE DEXCOOL ANTIFREEZE THAT ATE EVERY GASKET OUT OF THE ENGINE AND THEY REFUSED TO REPLACE IT I REPLACED IT AT MY COST WITH NO HELP FROM GENERAL MOTORS. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH THESE PEOPLE NEED TO TAKE CARE OF ALL THESE PROBLEMS THEY GOT TOP DOLLAR FOR THESE VEHICLES. ALL OF THESE OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SITTING STILL. THE DOOR HANDLE ON PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HAVE CUT SEVERAL PEOPLE. IT'S LIKE A RAZOR. A BRAND NEW VEHICLE HAS HAD A PIECE OF TAPE WRAPPED AROUND THE DOOR HANDLE HOW EMBARRASSING.

I HAVE AN AIRBAG FAILURE ON MY DASHBOARD, THE AIRBAGS ARE NOT WORKING. ON SATURDAY 11/21/2020 THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR KEPT SAYING DOOR WAS OPEN WHEN IT WAS ENTIRELY CLOSED. LATER ON THAT MORNING, THE PASSENGER SEAT HAD COLD AC WHILE THE REST OF THE CAR WAS THROWING HOT AIR ON IT'S OWN. BECAUSE THE CAR KEPT SAYING THE PASSENGER DOOR WAS OPEN, INSIDE LIGHTS DID NOT TURNED ON. REPLACED THE DOOR MODULE AND ISSUE NOT FIXED. BATTERY DRAINS AT LEAST TWICE A DAY. HAD TO REPLACE THE ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR MULTIPLE TIMES AND IT STILL GOES OFF RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING AND FIX ITSELF. THIS CAR IT'S USED ONLY TO DRIVE LESS THAN 10 MILES PER WEEK. IT IS SO ANNOYING WIHT THIS ISSUE JUST TO GET IT OUT AND BACK HOME. I REPLACED THE BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, OIL PRESSURE SENSOR, PASANGER DOOR SENSOR, AC FILTERS ALL THIS IN LESS THAN 1 YEAR AND IT'S ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

WOW. I AM SEEING ALL MY SAME ISSUES SO THOUGHT I BETTER ENTER MY INFO AS WELL. FIRST THE HORN WAS ALL OF A SUDDEN BLARING WITHOUT ANYONE BEING IN IT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT 2.5 YEARS AGO AND NOW I DO NOT HAVE A HORN, AND NONE OF THE CONTROLS WORK ON THE STEERING WHEEL INCLUDING THE RADIO AND CRUISE CONTROL (I QUESTION IF THE AIR BAG IS ACTIVE ON THE DRIVER SIDE BECAUSE OF THIS). THEN, THE REAR LIFT GATE ALL OF A SUDDEN WILL NOT OPEN (MAYBE LAST WINTER). 6 MONTHS AGO, THE INDICATORS ON THE DASH ARE OUT SO I CAN'T SEE MY ODOMETER OR ANYTHING ELSE YOU CAN ACCESS ON THE DASH. RECENTLY THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW JUST RANDOMLY FELL OFF THE TRACK. RECENTLY, EVERYTHING ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR DOES NOT WORK ELECTRICALLY: POWER DOOR LOCK, AND POWER WINDOW. AND I FIND THAT GM WILL NOT ADDRESS AT A MINIMUM THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES? NOT GOOD.

AT 90,000 MILES, ALL OF MY REAR BEARINGS WERE BAD AND HAD TO HAVE THEM REPLACED, BASICALLY A WHOLE NEW REAR END. LUCKILY IT WAS COVERED UNDER THE 100,000 MILE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. I HAVE ONLY TOWED A TRAILER TWICE WITH MY TAHOE, SO OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT SOMEWHERE. SECOND ISSUE IS THAT THERE ARE 2 CRACKS ON THE DASHBOARD; ONE IN THE AREA OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG, AND THE OTHER ON THE BACKSIDE OF THE DRIVERS SIDE STEERING COLUMN. THESE BOTH OCCURRED ABOUT THE SAME TIME, AROUND 100,000 MILES. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE. GM NEEDS TO BE REPLACING THESE DASHBOARDS ON THEIR DIME AND NOT EXPECTING THE CUSTOMER TO FOOT THE BILL FOR THIS DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. IT IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE. SHOULD THE AIRBAG SYSTEM HAVE TO DEPLOY, PIECES OF PLASTIC WOULD BECOME PROJECTILES THAT WOULD HARM ANYONE INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE THIRD ISSUE I HAVE, THAT BEGAN TODAY AT 109,000 MILES, ARE INVOLVING THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE SPEEDOMETER DID NOT WORK, THE LIGHT THAT INDICATES WHICH GEAR YOU ARE IN DID NOT COME ON, AND THE SEAT BELT LIGHT AND AIR BAG LIGHT WERE ON EVEN THOUGH I WAS WEARING MY SEAT BELT. I'M NOT SURE WHAT IS CAUSING THIS, AND I'M HOPING IT IS JUST A BAD FUSE. I AM SO DICOURAGED WITH MY TAHOE LATELY. WE TALK TO THE GAS STATION ATTENDANTS, THEY ALWAYS SAY THEY ARE NOT SHUTTING THE GAS NOZZLE OFF. WE OCCASIONALLY HEAR ITS CREAKING SOUND WHEN WE DRIVE IT, AND WHEN WE TOLD THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN ABOUT IT, THEY SAID IT IS JUST BECAUSE IT DOESN'T USE A BRAKE PAD THAT'S WHY. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS A DEAD BATTERY AND THE TOW TRUCK JUMPED ME AND IT STARTED JUST FINE SO I REPLACED THE BATTERY THE NEXT DAY. THEN I TRIED TO START IT THE NEXT DAY AND NOTHING ELECTRICAL WOULD TURN ON WHEN I TURNED THE KEY. TOW TRUCK CAME AGAIN TO JUMP ME AND I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE BATTERY CABLES RIGHT FROM THE GET GO. I HAVE A 2007 CHEVY TAHOE. SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR THESE ARE SOME OF THE ISSUES I HAVE HAD WITH THE CAR- ALL WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR - SOME ISSUES ARE ONGOING. THREE OF THE FOUR DOOR HANDLES ARE FRAYED AND CAUSE CUTS. THE CENTER CONSOLE WAS LITERALLY COMING APART AT THE SEAMS. I CAN HEAR THE SOUND OF WIND VERY LOUDLY WITH THE WINDOWS UP. SHORTLY AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR - I RETURNED TO THE SERVICE DEPT. AT THE DEALER (MORENO VALLEY CHEVROLET) ADVISING THEM THAT THE DOOR LOCKS ARE NOT PROPERLY OPERATING WITH THE KEY FOB AND THAT THE SOUND OF WIND WAS/IS VERY LOUD AND THE TIRES ARE MAKING NOISE. WELL , THEY REPLACED, RESET, AND WHATEVER ELSE TO THE DOOR LOCKS - AND THE ELECTRONIC FOB STILL DID NOT (AND DOES NOT) WORK. EVEN AFTER THREE (OR FOUR) ATTEMPTS TO RESOLVE THIS - I HAVE TO USE THE KEY, THE FOB DOES NOT WORK. THE DVD PLAYER PLAYS AT WILL. FORWARD TO TODAY SEPT 8, 2006 I WAS AGAIN DRIVING ON THE FWY WHEN MY XM RADIO WENT OUT COMPLETELY I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A PROBLEM WITH THE SATELLITE SO AS SOON AS I EXITED THE FWY I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE BUT THIS TIME ALL OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, RADIO AND ONSTAR SERVICES WERE COMPLETELY DEAD! NO SERVICE AT ALL! I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY WANT ME TO TAKE IT IN SO THAT THEY CAN CHECK IT OUT YET AGAIN, AND INSTALL THE WIPER MODULE WE WERE WAITING ON. THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS, BEING THAT WE DID NOT PAY CHUMP CHANGE FOR THIS TAHOE FOR THAT KIND OF MONEY IT SHOULD BE A VERY RELIABLE VEHICLE! I AM NOT GOING TO BE HAVING TO TAKE A $50,000 VEHICLE TO THE SHOP EVERY OTHER MONTH FOR MALFUNCTIONS...WHAT A COMPLETE INCONVENIENCE THIS IS!! MY 2007 TAHOE HAS HAD A TRANSMISSION/SLIP/BUMPING PROBLEM AND IT WAS FIRST NOTICED BY ME ABOUT A MONTH AFTER I GOT IT BACK IN APRIL. IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE THE MORE THAT I DRIVE IT. The first problem was the cluster , it completely went off . I took it to a mechanic he said he fixed it . It works for one day then completely shut off again, I can not see what gear I am in , any alert that I need to see for warning and saftey completely off in the cluster . . Shortly after the first issue I noticed 2 cracks on my dashboard ,on both driver and passenger side of the vehicle . I had not put a lot of thought into that as it didn’t seem like a safety concern up until I’ve read several post of others with same issue . ( I’m guessing a fire should be expected anytime because of others stories I have read off here the cracks have lead to fires ) Another issue is I have to add quart oil to my Tahoe atleast every 2 -3 weeks . I’ve taken it to have that fixed and each time was told there is no leak . I get the works done each oil change and still have to add oil 2 weeks after a new air filter oil etc .. a major issue that could have been a major wreck was While driving down a highway around 11 pm .. my car started flickering lights inside and outside of my tahoe and it started making a loud click sound saying system is shutting down ,my steering wheel locked up and all power to vehicle completely shut down .period . No power to anything at all what so ever . The battery was fairly new . Well We had it towed back to town for a mechanic to look at the next day … he replaced the alternator and checked everything . Said he couldn’t see anythjng and told me I should sale it right away He warned me of a lot of issues he keeps seeing with Tahoe . Well now my driver door will not open at all I have to crawl through the passenger side door to get in and out of my car . With all these serious issues still going on I m very scared to be in my car , not getting my alerts and being trapped inside . Please someone point me in the right direction I have 5 kids this is not safe !

THE O2 SENSOR CAN LOSE FROM ITS HOUSING. I HAD NEVER DONE ANY REPAIRS TO THIS O2 SENSOR. WHICH IT IS LOCATED AT POSITION BANK 1 SENSOR 2. THE SENSOR CONNECTION CAME LOSE FROM WHERE IT IS HELD ON TO THE FRAME. IT CAUSED THE WIRING TO GET SLACK AND WRAP AROUND THE DRIVE SHAFT. THIS HAPPENED AS I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK. I STARTED TO HEAR A NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. AS I LOOKED UNDERNEATH THE SUV I SEEN THE O2 SENSOR WAS CAUGHT ON THE SHAFT. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A ONCE TIME INCIDENT THAT HAD OCCURRED TO ME. BUT AS I WENT TO THE SALVAGE YARD TO GET A HARNESS. THEY TOLD ME THIS WAS A COMMON ISSUE ON THESE MODEL TRUCKS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A PROGRESSIVE POWER STEERING FAILURE THAT OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE SUSPENSION WAS ALSO UNSTABLE IN THE REAR ASSOCIATED WITH THE REAR WHEELS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE 4-WHEEL DRIVER MODULE, WHICH DID NOT REMEDY THE FAILURE. WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE WHEELS IN THE REAR LOCKED. THE CONTACT APPLIED FORCE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE, BUT THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE REAR WHEELS LOCKED. THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE LEFT AND CRASHED INTO A 1996 GMC SIERRA 3500. THE FRONT AIR BAGS AND SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WITH FORCE. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED MAJOR INJURIES TO THE RIGHT ARM AND THE LEFT LEG AS WELL AS EXTENSIVE ABRASIONS. THE DRIVER HAD TO RECEIVE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A WRECKING YARD AND THEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. I WAS DRIVING ALONG AND THE SPEED CONTROL JUST STOPPED WORKING. I RESET IT AND THE FIRST BUMP IN THE ROAD IT STOPPED WORKING. WE TOOK IT FOR REPAIR AND IT WORKED FOR ABOUT A YR. THEN THE SAME PROBLEM. WE HAD IT FIXED AGAIN AND IT LASTED ABOUT ANOTHER 2 YRS. IT HAS AGAIN FAILED SEVERAL TIMES TO WORK AT ALL AND THEN YOU CAN GET IN THE CAR AND START DRIVING AND IT WILL WORK. CURRENTLY, IT WON'T COME ON AT ALL...THIS APPARENTLY IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CHEVY TAHOE AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT 60 MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT DROPS QUICKLY IN SPEED. THEY STATED I WOULD JUST HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL IT DID IT AGAIN. YESTERDAY EVERYTHING WENT HAYWIRE AND MY TAHOE APPEARED POSSESSED. DOOR LOCKS, GEARING SHIFTING WAS AFFECTED MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO DRIVE AND STEER DUE TO LOSS OF POWER STEERING, WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS RISK TO OTHERS AROUND ME AND MY TWO CHILDREN IN THE CAR. I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT, AND THE PROBLEM HAPPENED UNEXPECTEDLY WHEN I PRESSED ON THE GAS WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN. MY CAR MOVED FORWARD JUST SLIGHTLY, JERKED HARD TO A COMPLETE STOP, AND IT WOULDN'T DRIVE ANYMORE. I WAS ABLE TO GET PUSHED TO THE SIDE IN NEUTRAL, BUT NEEDED A TOW TO THE DEALER. THE ONLY WORKING GEARS WERE R, 3, 2, AND 1. BRINGING IT INTO THE DEALER, THEY CONFIRMED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I HAD DONE SOME RESEARCH WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND NOTICED THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, ALL IN THE SAME TYPE OF SCENARIO WHERE THEY WERE AT A COMPLETE STOP. SECOND ISSUE, NOT NEARLY AS MAJOR IS THE STABILITRAK. THE LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF CONSTANTLY, PRETTY MUCH FROM THE FIRST YEAR I'VE HAD THE CAR. AND LASTLY, THE INTERIOR CHROME DOOR HANDLES HAVE ALL PEELED OFF AND CUT ME AND MY PASSENGERS SEVERAL TIMES. THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES HAVE COME LOOSE, THE FUEL POCKET IS COMPLETELY BROKEN, AND AFTER A HEAVY RAIN, WATER GETS TRAPPED INSIDE THE SHELL OF THE BACK DOOR AND SLOSHES AROUND WHILE I'M DRIVING. I HAVE TO REMOVE THE BOTTOM LINING OF THE DOOR FOR THE TRAPPED WATER TO BE RELEASED. *KB

WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE. WE'VE HAD TIRES REPLACED TWICE, ROTORS, AND BRAKES RESURFACED, AND REAR-END DROPPED SO THE SPRINGS COULD BE ADJUSTED. BUT THE BIGGEST PROBLEM HAS BEEN WITH THE ROARING IN THE MOTOR. THE DEALERSHIP HAS HAD THE VEHICLE FOR MORE THAN 20 DAYS ON AND OFF LOOKING FOR THIS NOISE. I'VE HAD IT TO THEM 8 TIMES OR SO TRYING TO FIND IT. THE NOISE DIDN'T START UNTIL AROUND 3,000 MILES, AND GETS WORSE AND EASIER TO DUPLICATE WITH MORE MILES. THE FIRST 7 VISITS THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS AND WAS CLUELESS TO IT, BUT THE LAST VISIT, AND 4 DAYS OF IT, THEY AND GM DECIDED IT WAS A "CHARACTERISTIC" OF THE VEHICLE, AND NOTHING COULD BE DONE. MY 2007 TAHOE IS A PIECE OF ?!@#$%. SINCE I GOT THE TRUCK IT HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP. MY GAS GAGE FLOATS I CAN START OUT AT OF A TANK AND IT WILL GO UP TO OF A TANK. THE DEALERSHIP HAS CHANGED MULTIPLE PARTS AND CAN NOT SEEM TO FIX IT. THE BLOWER IN THE AIR CONDITIONER WENT OUT THAT HAD TO BE REPLACED AS WELL. AFTER ONLY ONE MONTH OF PURCHASE AUTO START FEATURE DOES NOT WORK UNLESS YOU WERE 3 FEET AWAY. THE VEHICLE ONCE SAT OVER NIGHT WOULD MAKE A REALLY LOUD CLATTERING SOUND WHEN YOU WOULD TURN ON THE ENGINE. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALER AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE PROBLEMS THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THEY HAD TO REPROGRAM THE SOFTWARE IN THE TAHOE TO REPROGRAM AUTO START. THE NEXT MORNING I WAS CALLED AND INFORMED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPRODUCE THE CLATTERING SOUND AND THAT NOTHING WRONG WAS DETECTED WITH THE VEHICLE SO THAT IT WAS READY FOR PICK UP. EVERYTHING WAS O.K. FOR ABOUT A COUPLE OF MONTHS. AUTO START WASN'T WORKING AGAIN. AT MY THIRD SERVICE VISIT TO THE DEALER I NOTICED THE TIRES WERE STARTING TO GET WASTED TOWARDS THE INSIDE. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD ABOUT 5,000 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME. WHEN THE DEALER WAS INFORMED HE INDICATED THAT THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE ROTATED. AFTER ABOUT THREE TIRE ROTATIONS I NOTICED THE TIRES GETTING WARN OUT PRETTY BADLY ON THE INSIDE. HE INDICATED THAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE THAT IT NEEDS A FRONT END ALLINGNMENT ONLY AFTER THE VEHICLE HAVING LESS THAN 12,000 MILES. THE FRONT END ALIGNMENT WAS DONE ON THE VEHICLE.TO THIS DAY THAT THE TIRES ARE WASTED MORE ON THE INSIDES THAN THE OUTSIDES.THIS LAST MONTH WE HAVE HAD A PROBLEM AGAIN WITH THE LOUD CLATTERING SOUND IN THE ENGINE WHEN WE START THE VEHICLE.IT HAS GOTTEN ALOT WORSE I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND THAT IT APPEARS TO BE OIL BUILD UP IN THE AIR COMPRESSOR THAT WHEN IT SITS FOR MORE THATN 3 HOURS IT APPARENTLY MAKES THIS LOUD SOUND WHEN YOU START THE ENGINE. WE TOOK OUR VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR A 3RD TIME NOW (LOOK FOR MY OTHER COMPLAINT ON THIS WEBSITE ON ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS/WINDSHIELD PROBLEMS) FOR THE SAME PROBLEM PLUS A NUMBER OF MULTIPLE OTHER PROBLEMS. THE PROBLEM THAT THE DEALER CAN'T SEEM TO REMEDY IS THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND WIPER SPRAY KEEP COMING ON ALL BY THEMSELVES AND CANNOT BE TURNED OFF UNLESS YOU TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN RESTART IT. THEY'VE REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MODULE BUT THEY STILL COME ON RANDOMLY. THE HEATED SEATS SOMETIMES DON'T WORK AND IN ORDER TO GET THEM TO WORK YOU MUST RESTART THE CAR. THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW WILL RANDOMLY NOT ROLL UP OR DOWN FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE MASTER SWITCH AND WILL ONLY START WORKING AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR TO GET SERVICED (OIL CHANGE) THE MECHANIC NOTICED SEVERAL LEAKS UNDER THE VEHICLE, ONE COMING FROM THE ENGINE BELL HOUSING ANOTHER FROM THE RACK AND PINION AREA AND THE THIRD FROM THE POWER STEERING PUMP HOUSING AREA. WHEN WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY CLEANED THE ENGINE PAN (I HAVE BEFORE PICTURES) AND ADDED AN ENGINE DYE AND THEY STATED THEY FOUND NO LEAKS, WE'LL CHECK IT AGAIN AFTER A FEW HUNDRED MILES. THEY ALSO CLEANED UP THE OTHER LEAKS FROM THE OTHER AREAS AND CLAIMED NO LEAKS. OUR MECHANIC ALSO NOTICED WHILE ROTATING THE TIRES THAT THE FRONT RIGHT ROTORS WERE DEEPLY GROOVED WHICH ANSWERS MY QUESTION AS TO WHY MY BRAKES HAVE BEEN SQUEAKING. HE SAYS THAT WITH ONLY 10,000 MILES IT IS NOT NORMAL FOR THEM TO BE GROOVED, AND IS DEFINITELY A DEFECT WITH THE CALIPERS PROBABLY STICKING. SHOWED THE DEALER AND THE SERVICE WRITER STATED IT WAS NORMAL, THAT CANNOT BE NORMAL. SO NOW THEY RESURFACED THE ROTOR AND THE BRAKES ARE STILL SQUEAKING. AFTER BRINGING MY VEHICLE HOME FROM THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS THE CAR LOCKED "ITSELF" I DID NOT LOCK IT, THE CAR KEYS WERE NOT EVEN IN MY HANDS ANYMORE THEY WERE HANGING ON THE KEY RACK. THE GAUGE CLUSTER PANEL IS SHROUDED WHICH MAKES IT HARD TO SEE THE GAUGES DURING THE LATE DAY HOURS OR DIM LIGHT DAYS BECAUSE THE GAUGES ARE NOT ILLUMINATED. THEY ONLY ILLUMINATE WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS TURN ON AUTOMATICALLY (OR IF YOU TURN THEM ON). I THINK THE HEADLIGHT SENSOR IS MIS-PROGRAMMED, BECAUSE IT SEEMS TO ROUTINELY ACTIVATE TOO LATE, BUT ON ONE OCCASION IT ACTIVATED WHEN IT WAS JUST GETTING DIM, WEIRD. ALSO THE SPEEDOMETER IS NOT CENTERED IN THE SHROUDED PANEL BECAUSE THEY MADE IT SYMMETRICAL WITH A MATCHING TACHOMETER (RPM) GAUGE. WHO REALLY CARES ABOUT A TACHOMETER ON AN AUTOMATIC VEHICLE? I WANT TO SEE THE SPEED THAT I AM TRAVELING. ALSO, IF YOU TILT THE STEERING WHEEL UP AT ONE SET POINT YOU CANT EVEN SEE THE GAUGES DEPENDING ON HOW TALL YOU ARE. *NM

AT 3700 MILES NOTICED FRONT TIRES WERE FEATHERING. AFTER VISITING DEALER AND QUESTIONING THEY ASKED IF I HAD TIRES ROTATED? I EXPLAINED THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE WAS TOO LOW SO THEY SUGGESTED ROTATING AND COMING BACK. ALSO, WINDOW TRIM ON 2 REAR WINDOWS COMING OFF SINCE FIRST DAY OF OWNERSHIP, RECENTLY BEEN TOLD THIS IS A RECALL AND A KNOWN PROBLEM.

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STABILITY TRACK CONTROL AND ABS LIGHT ILLUMINATED DURING EACH INCIDENT. THE RADIO WENT OFF SUDDENLY AND THE BACK UP CAMERA BLACKED OUT SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEMS. EACH OCCASION AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS WERE NO LONGER ILLUMINATED AND ALL ELECTRICAL UNITS OPERATED NORMALLY.

WHEN VEHICLE'S EXTERIOR LAMP CONTROL IS IN THE "AUTO" POSITION DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS, MOST OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL GAUGES (SPEEDOMETER, RPM, GAS, BATTERY, TEMPERATURE, OIL) ARE NOT ILLUMINATED AND CANNOT BE READ WITHOUT TAKING ONE'S EYES OFF THE ROAD AND FOCUSING ON THE GAUGE IN QUESTION, CREATING A SAFETY HAZARD. VARIOUS FEATURES OF THE VEHICLE ARE SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED SO THAT ONE DOES NOT HAVE TO REMOVE THE EYES FROM THE ROAD (E.G., RADIO CONTROLS ON STEERING WHEEL); THIS GOES COMPLETELY AGAINST THIS OBJECTIVE. ONE CAN BYPASS THIS PROBLEM BY SWITCHING THE EXTERIOR LAMP CONTROL FROM "AUTO" TO THE PARKING LAMP POSITION: THIS ILLUMINATES THE GAUGES BUT CUTS OUT THE DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS. AN IMPROPERLY DESIGNED LIGHT SENSOR SEEMS TO BE THE CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. WHEN THIS PROBLEM WAS BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE DEALER, HIS SERVICE PEOPLE DETERMINED AFTER CHECKING THAT THIS WAS NORMAL OPERATION AND THERE WAS NO DEFECT. *NM
