Service Trailer Brake system message is appearing.

While driving at low speeds, I am experiencing difficulty with braking. The brake becomes very hard to press down and it takes me longer to stop. I researched this and came across a recall for a vacuum pump issue. I believe this is exactly what is wrong with my vehicle. However, when I input my VIN into the recall website, it says my vehicle is not included in the recall. How can I get this issue covered without having to pay out of pocket (we were quoted over $700). I fear that I may cause an accident if I am unable to stop.

When trying to brake the Tahoe seems to not want to stop. The Tahoe comes to a rolling stop or like it is in sand trying to stop. It eventually stops but not when you want it to. Happens more at low speeds then high speeds.. no lights have indicated a problem. And doesn’t do it all the time but you as a driver can’t trust the brakes! I have had my mechanic look at it he can’t find a problem because when he drives it the Tahoe won’t do it for him. Hasn’t been in an accident yet

The hood paint and roof paint are fading much faster then the rest of the car. I have seen this on alot of 2015 Black Tahoes. The dealer has confirmed this on black 2015 Tahoes. It is available for inspection when requested.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while attempting to register the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 116,485, and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 150,237.

I have a 2015 Chevy Tahoe LTZ I bought used 10/12/2024 with 100,000 miles on it. I purchased it from a family member that took great care of it. Always garaged and kept up with all the maintenance's regularly. In March of 2025, we noticed how uncomfortable and terribly bumpy it was riding. I looked it up and discovered that many people with this "Magnetic Ride Control" installed on many other vehicles had to replace them. I thought for sure this would have a recall. And to my disappointment, it was not a recall. I had to pay over $3000 dollars to repair this, which I don't have. Can you please look into this and make the manufacture or someone accountable for such a terrible design. Thank you bumpy it was riding. Front shocks failed 2 years ago. Rear shocks just failed last week. Both of these failures affect the vehicle handling. The vehicle was inspected and failures confirmed by an independent service center. Both front and rear shocks had to be replaced. The complexity of the parts and system make these repairs costly. It cost thousands of dollars for each repair. It is a $70K vehicle and was manufactured in 2015. These should not be failing so quickly. And the repair shop said this is a know issue with the Tahoe of those model years but there is not an active recall. Someone needs to investigate how many of these Tahoes have had to have the shocks replaced.

The 2015 Tahoe LZ is experiencing harsh ride due to the failure of the factory Air Ride system. This may have been a good idea, but it will not stand up under normal road conditions. There is no recall for this problem. Shocks leak or are bound up (frozen in place) causing bumps to be transmitted to the vehicle body. I have changed tires and the problem is still there. I have driven GM vehicles all my life (70+years) and this is the most trouble I have ever experienced with suspension components of all the GM vehicles I've owned, starting with a 1955 vehicle. A local dealer priced the repair at around $5000.00. I drove a 1983 Suburban for over 300,000 miles and never had any suspension problems, (except for normal brake wear). There seems to be a lot of owners of this vintage vehicle that have experienced this problem. Whether this is a computer problem or poor workmanship, General Motors needs to REPAIR their self-inflected problem. I worked as a line mechanic for a GM dealership in the early 80's. We never had this kind of problems before computers started to be installed on vehicles.

My magna ride suspension has completely gone out. The front and rear are sagging with no suspension travel at all. According to Google, every Chevrolet and GMC with this suspension has the same issue. Cost $3000 to repair.

The contact stated that while driving at a slow speed and while making a left turn into traffic, the power steering assist malfunctioned and the steering wheel became difficult to turn, causing the vehicle to erroneously drive into a busy intersection. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 108,000.

Complete loss of electronic power steering. My children safety along with my own was put at risk. This problem was supposedly repaired by Courtesy Chevrolet of Ruston,LA July 2021.

Six days ago my 2015 Chevy Tahoe had a sudden loss of power steering assist while driving down the road after having to come to a sudden stop. The sudden loss and stop required me to jar to the R side of the road. Later in the evening while driving home from work, suddenly my power steering began to work again - causing the steering wheel to have a lot of "play" in the turning of the wheel. This sudden loss and sudden return of power steering has increased since the first incident and happens more often than not. Every time the loss or return happen to the steering, I feel like I lose control of the vehicle to an extent depending on the speed of the vehicle. I am a single mom with two little children who are constantly with me in our vehicle which concerns me for all of our safety. I have done my due diligence on contacting the local Chevy dealership, GM and even the better business bureau due to not being able to get to the bottom of this and continuously being told there's no recall connected to my VIN. There was a recall previously for the Power Steering Assist Motor Kit in 2015 Chevy Tahoes. According to GM which I contacted today, my vehicle was a part of this recall and the assist motor kid was "fixed" which is why there are no current recalls on my VIN. We were told there was a 12 thousand mile warranty that was placed on this new Assist motor kit however, the same issue is now happening again. In the initial recall, chevy was told that dealers are to replace power steering assist motor kit due to increased risk of crash. Dealers are to service all vehicles subject to the recall at no charge to customers, regardless of mileage, age of vehicle or ownership from this time forward. The fact that I am having the same issue with the assist motor after its already been "replaced" is quite concerning for me, my children and quite frankly other bystanders or other drivers with the increased risk of an MVA. I have not had a wreck but the fact that when you press the brake pedal the dome lights blink and when you turn on the left turn signal, the dome lights blink. If you hold down the brake like if you’re at a traffic light the dome lights blink continuously until you let off the brake. Now, during the day, that’s no big problem but at night it poses a serious safety risk. A bright light in your eyes while driving is blinding and a sudden bright light in the pitch black dark could lead to an accident. I called the dealer to ask about it and was told yeah, they knew about it and it would cost me like $550 to repair even though it was a defect that they readily acknowledge.

Second Inquiry on this problem, a detailed description was sent previously and no response was ever received. 2015 Chevy Tahoe in short, interior LED lights flash when ever the brake is applied. Interior LED lights flash when left turn signal is activated. Dealer stated that a Service Bulletin was created for this issue as an obvious safety issue at night. Electrical tape over the second seat LED's Dealer wanted at the time $180.00 to remedy the problem. (Documented) Dealer on next recall visit, Customer Service stated that they were unaware of such an issue, and also that this was the first that he had heard of it. Internet is well aware of the electrical issue.

Dome lights keep flickering. Not specific to any light. All of them flash sporadically. Looks like a camera flash at night. It is beyond distracting at night and the dealership could not find what is causing it to happen. It is making driving at night dangerous because it is distracting because it can sometimes flash non stop like a strobe light.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated while driving at undisclosed speeds, the contact noticed that while activating the turn signals, the lights were blinking continuously with an unknown warning light illuminated. The contact parked the vehicle noticed a lot of moisture and condensation in the lower half of the driver’s and passenger’s side headlights and turn signals. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who inspected the vehicle and attempted to replace the bulbs for the front turn signals lamps however, the failure reoccurred. The contact took the vehicle back to the independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the headlight assemblies needed to be replaced. Additionally, there was rust in the plug for the turn signals due to condensation. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 54,000. Consumer stated light bulbs have been replaced 3 times in 1.5 years.

NOT LONG AFTER I PURCHASED MY TAHOE NEW I NOTICED MOISTURE IN THE HEADLIGHTS, MORE SO ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I HAD THE VEHICLE BROUGHT IN FOR AN AC RECALL AND THE DEALER DIDN'T NOTICE OR FIX THE PROBLEM. AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED I STARTED GETTING ACCUMULATING WATER IN THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY WHICH WOULD CORRODE THE BLINKER HOLDER MAKING IT INOPERABLE. SO I EITHER HAVE TO CHANGE THE BLINKER HOLDER OR REPLACE THE ENTIRE LIGHT ASSEMBLY. I FEEL LIKE THE DEALER SHOULD HAVE NOTICED THE ISSUE WHEN IT WAS IN THE SHOP FOR THE AC RECALL.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the transmission shifted hard occasionally, and the vehicle jerked abnormally. Additionally, on one occasion, while shifted in reverse(R) the vehicle drove forward. The gear shifter was shifted to park(P) and then reverse, and the vehicle reversed as intended. The contact inspected the transmission fluid, and the transmission fluid level was low. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the torque converter had failed, and the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 157,000.

The transmission out of no where started to hard shift from 2nd to 3rd gear then making noises. Spoke with a mechanic who specializes in transmission he had 2 other tahoes same year same problem that are in front of mine to work on.

Transmission delays in shifts. Whine coming from transmission as well. New torque converter and thermal bypass installed with new transmission fluid and filter. Truck was diagnosed and it’s okay in Chevrolets computers. This is a scary and unsafe way of feeling scared if transmission will fail.

While driving on the highway I notice the rpm’s were high and the vehicle wasn’t going anywhere so I had to pull over from the middle lane to the side of the road I. Busy traffic gladly I mad it over safely without getting hit. After I pulled over the service engine light come on and the transmission temperature was high. After the vehicle cooled down and I was able to me the shifting was terrible it would jerk while shifting. So I called aamco transmission and they said I needed a transmission replacement. This is not the first Chevrolet Tahoe I have had that done this my 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe done the same thing and needed a transmission. The repair cost is at $5500.00.

The torque converters for the 2015 Chevy Tahoe’s or the 6L80 transmission are failing at a rate not seem on a newer vehicle. Chevy dealerships in my area are backed up for 2 to 3 weeks just to look at the possible problem. The failure appears to be due to poor design of the transmission torque converters. Safety is at risk due high failure rate that could occur at highway speeds and thus making the vehicle stop without brake lights and possible fail in the middle of the highway. At highway speeds this failure could cause serious damage and possible death. Due to the 2 to 3 weeks for the transmission to be looked at by Chevy, I chose to take my vehicle to a private repair shop. Prior taking my vehicle to the shop the shop knew based on the high failure rate that my transmission failure was based on the torque converter but the total damage was not known until the transmission was rebuilt. The transmission torque converter problem was reproduced and confirmed by an independent service center. The Transmission was inspected by AAAA transmission located in Fort Worth. The only warning I had of the failure of the transmission torque converter was accelerating to access the highway and the vehicle started to lose power and shutter due to the lack of acceleration. The luck for me was the highway was not crowded and I did not merge on the highway with the loss of power and possibly getting hit from behind by another vehicle. There were no warning signs of the failure the vehicle just started showing signs of the failure that day. The failure first appeared on June 30, 2023. Attached is the copy of the repair bill and pictures of the metal shavings due to the failure of the torque converter which destroyed the transmission pump. The shavings are steel and aluminum particles.

i got my oil changed and got a new air filter and my tahoe started acting like it was chugging put it on a machine said it was a spark in 7 cylinder got new plugs and wires and a new thermostat didnt fix it got a nee crank shaft was driving perfectly went to pass a driving doing 35 m an hr on a 55 m hr and when i did it acted like it was going to die i took it easy the two mikes home had it towed to dealership they said it was my lifter and would codt my 16000$ to fix it! i talked to 3 other mechanics and they informed me this particular engine has a recall for doing just this when it runs at 5.4 and swittchrs to 8 it sometimes blows a lifters , which is exactly what has happened if i hadnt been any cliser to home or was on the interstate this could of neen a really bad accident!

This 2015 Chevy Tahoe stopped without warning or warning failure indicators and continue to stop without warning, while driving on highway. Managed to drive the car slowly home. Following day the engine warning light came on after the fact. Had the car inspected by mechanic who indicated that the transmission/torque converter had failed. This mechanic has reported seeing the same issue with other Chevy Tahoes in same and similar years. Chevy has not addressed the safety hazard this transmission poses to both the driver and drivers behind the vehicle when it abruptly comes to a stop on a busy road. The car was just serviced at dealer in past month without any recommended repairs. The engine warning indicator did not work the entire time the car was whistling, stopping and jerking. Chevy should have issued a recall for this failure.

The contact pulled over and the steering wheel locked. The contact stated that the check engine, Reduced Engine Power, Stabili-trac, and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. I was driving at 55 mph when the entire car shuddered and very loud babgihg and knocking occurred. Immediately the car slowed way down and lost power. Luckily I was able to sagely move it out of the lane before getting rear ended but that was only because I was in the right lane. The check engine light came on and started blinking and the traction control failure and safety radar system failure light came on. The vehicle was towed to a Chevy dealer and found out the lifters had failed and these damaged the crankshaft. The truck has 91000 miles. After researching there seems to be a very large problem with these engines failing due to the AFM system that chevy uses

MY 2015 CHEVROLET TAHOE LTZ'S HEADLIGHTS HAVE DEVELOPED CONDENSATION INSIDE OF THEM. THE DRIVER SIDE LIGHT HAS AN INCH OF STANDING WATER IN IT AND NOW THE TURN SIGNAL AND LED RUNNING LIGHT NO LONGER WORK ON THAT SIDE. CHEVROLET SAID IT WILL COST OVER $2,000 TO REPLACE BOTH HEADLIGHTS. I KNOW SEVERAL OTHER TAHOE OWNERS THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND OUR LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT HAS ALSO HAD TO REPLACE HEADLIGHTS IN SEVERAL OF THEIR PATROL TAHOES. I took it to Riverside Chevrolet to get a diagnostic on it because my steering wheel is locked all the lights on the dashboard are on in the vehicle is not drivable almost a month and a half of Riverside Chevrolet and they could not get a diagnostic on it. Car died with no dash warning. Had battery and alternator checked, battery checked out perfectly fine but alternator needed replacing. Replaced brand new alternator. After replacing, message came up “power steering drive with care”. Steering went completely hard, no other messages or absolutely any lights on dash. Unable to drive due to car steering wheel being locked. The contact has stated that the dealership confirmed the recall and that this issue is common, yet they have not found anything wrong with the vehicle.

On Wednesday, 11/15/23, I was sitting in my vehicle while it was parked and running for several minutes. After a few minutes, the alert chime went off and the message "Service Trailer Brake System" was displayed on the dash notifications. This alert persisted for several minutes. Since this initial incident, the same alert has displayed 3 or 4 more times, but while driving. It repeats persistently, causing a major distraction, blocking my speedometer, and disabling bluetooth features. I nearly wrecked because of the distraction and have not been able to tow my trailer because of the risk of of the trailer brakes not working. I have an appointment scheduled with my mechanic on 11/28/23 to get this repaired, but have recently learned of several incidents of this same alert from other GM vehicle owners. This seems to be a defective wire harness and needs to be recalled as it is unsafe and renders the vehicle useless for many intended purposes.

While driving I periodically receive a notification on the dash to "Service Trailer Brake System". The message just randomly comes up with an abrupt warning noise which is a distraction and startles you until it goes away. I don't tow anything with the vehicle. The notification happens about once a month when driving and eventually goes away after a few minutes. I do mostly interstate driving and when the warning comes up, it startles you and you feel the need to pull over immediately. The notification noise is loud and a distraction. I will be taking it to a Chevrolet dealership. I have an appointment late August. This has been going on periodically for months.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT HIGH SPEEDS, 70-80 MPH, STEERING BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT FOR BRIEF PERIODS. OFTEN TIMES IT WAS IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING ACTUATION OF THE AUTOMATIC WINDOW SWITCH. IT WAS ACCOMPANIED WITH A LOT OF THE LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER, A FLICKERING CONTROL PANEL, ABS LIGHT, STAB TRAK, BRAKE ASSIST, AND PARK ASSIST WARNINGS. A/C WOULD STOP, RADIO WOULD TURN OFF, THE DASHBOARD WOULD FLICKER, THEN I WOULD HAVE TO ACKNOWLEDGE ALL OF THE WARNINGS IN ORDER TO CLEAR THE ISSUE. STEERING WAS TOUGH, THOUGH CONTROLLABLE, BUT I QUESTION THE ABILITY OF A LESS EXPERIENCED DRIVE TO BE ABLE TO HANDLE THE SAME PROBLEM AT THOSE SPEEDS. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE AT LOWER SPEEDS, USUALLY WHILE BACKING UP TO PARK. AT LOWER SPEEDS THE SUV WOULD CUT OFF COMPLETELY. AT HIGHER SPEEDS, THE STALL WAS RECOVERABLE, VERY FORTUNATE IN THIS MATTER. UNABLE TO GET THE ISSUE TO REPEAT AT THE DEALERSHIP AND IT IS VERY INCONSISTENT. USUALLY RESETS ITSELF ONCE THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED.

Vacuum pump and vacuum pump belt replacement. Experiencing increased brake pedal effort, hard brake pedal, and increased stopping distance. Confirmed by an auto shop and mechanic that this is the issue. There was special coverage given by General Motors to this vehicle to address this issue that expired in November (but I did not know that this existed). The vehicle has not yet hit 150,000 miles. Request to have my Tahoe special coverage warranty extended to address this issue.

Truck doesn't want to brake have to put both feet on pedal. Almost hit a car in the drop off line this morning at school. When braking it skips a beat and I have to press hard to try to stop it. It scared me because there's no warning lights, it just happened out of nowhere and was afraid to have an accident home very scary. No it has not been inspected by anyone yet. Yes its available for inspection anytime as I wont be driving till I figure out the problem to avoid a serious accident.

I INITIALLY NOTICED DIFFICULTY WITH BRAKING WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AT A VERY LOW RATE OF SPEED. THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME HARD AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ROLL BACKWARD, WITH FULL WEIGHT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH LATER I WAS IN BUMPER-TO-BUMPER, STOP-AND-GO TRAFFIC AND THE BRAKE PEDAL AGAIN HARD AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ROLL FORWARD. THIS ISSUE DID NOT OCCUR DURING NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS, ONLY AT LOW RATES OF SPEED AND WITH FREQUENT, REPETIVE STOPPING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL CHEVROLET SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE OR IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM WITH DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT. I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THE PROBLEM WAS LIKELY DUE TO 'OVER USE' OF THE BRAKES AND THE BRAKE IS DESIGNED TO BE 'PUMPED' RATHER THAN COMPRESSED FOR MORE THAN A FEW SECONDS. I TOOK THE VEHEHICLE TO A SECOND CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT REPLACED THE BRAKE BOOSTER VACUUM PUMP AND THIS SEEMS HAVE RESOLVED THE ISSUE. I WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS DUE TO FEAR THE BRAKES WOULD FAIL. THE VEHICLE HAS 54,000 MILES AND WAS PURCHASED NEW FROM A DEALERSHIP.

A FEW WEEKS WENT BY WITH NO ISSUES AND THEN IT RETURNED WHEN BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON AND IT SEEMED TO BE WORKING FINE. ANOTHER 3 DAYS PASSES AND THEN BRAKE PEDAL GETS HARD AND CAN BARELY STOP THE CAR CAUSING A CLOSE COLLISION. THE SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST LIGHT COMES ON AND THE BRAKES ARE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO PUSH TO MAKE THE CAR STOP. DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME CAREFULLY DUE TO NEEDING TO STEP ON THE BRAKES EXTREMELY HARD. REPLACED THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND STILL NOT WORKING. REPLACED THE VACUUM PUMP AND LINE TO FIX THE ISSUE. THIS CAUSED MANY CLOSE CALLS AS THE FIRST TIME I WAS BACKING INTO A PARKING SPOT AND ALMOST HIT THE WALL. THE OTHER TIMES I WAS DRIVING THROUGH A DRIVE THROUGH ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND DRIVING THROUGH A NEIGHBORHOOD TOWING AND ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AT THE STOP SIGN.

GM CONDENSER ISSUE. GM HAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH 2014-2016 MODELS USING A DEFECTIVE CONDENSER. THEY HAVE A NEW PART # THAT IS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER AND ARE UNWILLING TO DO ANYTHING FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS WAITING FOR THE PART. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY, KIDS IN TOW, ON A RAINY MUGGY DAY IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST LAST WEEK. MY WINDSHIELD BEGAN TO FOG AND WITH NO CONDENSER TO RUN THE AC I WAS UNABLE TO DEFROST MY WINDOWS. UNABLE TO SEE A THING I HAD TO PULL OVER, ON THE FREEWAY, CAREFULLY, AND FIND A CHILD'S COAT IN THE VERY BACK TO WIPE DOWN THE WINDOWS TO CREST VISIBILITY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND CLEARLY NEGLIGENCE ON GM'S PART AND THEY WOULD BE HELD LIABLE IF/WHEN THIS CREATES A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT BASED ON THE POLICE AND EMS REPORTS RECEIVED, THE MIDDLE CONSOLE HAD BEEN RIPPED OFF BY THE DRIVER DURING THE INCIDENT IN AN ATTEMPT TO BRACE HIMSELF FOR THE COLLISION. THE REPORT ALSO MENTIONED THAT NO TIRE SKID MARKS WERE PRESENT AT THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED FROM THE SCENE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EVENT DATA RECORDER (EDR) WAS DESTROYED. AS A RESULT, THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. In approximately December of 2015, we purchased a 2015 Chevy Tahoe LT from CARR Chevrolet. We chose GM for the reputation, under the belief if we took care of our vehicle and had it maintained by the dealer, it would last 12-15 years. This was NOT our experience.Three years after we purchased the vehicle, the engine died. We were assured this was an anomaly and GM replaced at "no cost", as it was a "manufacturing error". CARR service convinced me it was “great”, as now my vehicle would last even longer. I did not question and blindly trusted those I viewed as trained, skilled professionals. Fast forward to present time, my vehicle is 7 years old (90,000 mi) and never missed a single service. Out of the blue, the transmission dies. I was initially told this is “normal" and “happens” to a tune of $8400 plus maintenance and other wear and tear for a total of $10,000+. This did not sit well with me and I questioned the validity. I requested that CARR give me a quote to buy back the car and they initially refused to give decent price. I contacted GM to complain. After many more days, I was contacted and offered that GM and CARR would carry 70% of the cost of the transmission. I agreed with intent to sell/trade on my own. After many weeks, I picked up my Tahoe and paid $3,400 and headed back to Lake Oswego. As I entered downtown Lake Oswego on a slight hill, coming to a 4 way stop, my brakes completely failed…. I barely missed careening into the back of a car, as they naturally moved forward. I contacted CARR service supervisor, sobbing and shaking after the events and he immediately arranged for a tow. I then contacted the investigator. After many days, the GM investigator response, “it’s fixed free of charge”. I was told it was “known” that these cars “could” have a problem with the brakes, which is why there was an unlimited warranty should it occur. I expressed that I had zero trust in GM, CARR or the vehicle and expected to be compensated. The contact stated her understanding was that the GM recall related to brakes in 2019; only consisted of replacing computer chip and they knew that this was not the complete fix. They then issued an “unlimited warranty” on the brakes for people like me.

The car was bucking on the highway it was losing power without notice. There was no prior notice from Onstar system either of any mechanical issues . There was No prior indications or check engine light before this instance. I was coming home in the dark on the highway which was a dangerous position to be in. Vehicle has shut down twice while turning. When action happens the stability controls are turned off, parking assistance is turned off. All lights on dash flash. With this vehicle having electronic steering, I have no control of this vehicle when it shuts down while driving. Dealer could not reproduce actions to diagnose, but informed me to return if it was to happen again.

DURING A LOW SPEED LEFT TURN ACROSS ONCOMING LANES OF TRAFFIC, MY 2015 TAHOE HAD A COMPLETE LOSS OF ALL POWER AND STOPPED RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. LUCKILY ONCOMING TRAFFIC WAS AT A DISTANCE THAT THEY WERE ABLE TO NOTICE MY TAHOE HAD DIED BLOCKING THEIR LANES, AND THEY CORRECTED THEIR PATH TO GO AROUND. WE COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED AT THE LEAST IF ONCOMING TRAFFIC HAD NOT NOTICED THAT OUR VEHICLE DIED. I PURCHASED THIS TAHOE USED 3 WEEKS AGO AND THIS HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES SINCE. WITHIN DAYS OF PURCHASING IT, THE CAR BEGAN HAVING ISSUES WITH A STABILITRAK WARNING FOLLOWED BY OTHER ERRATIC COMPUTER WARNINGS. IN FOLLOWING WEEKS THE CAR ALSO BEGAN HAVING COMPLETE POWER FAILURE AT LOW SPEEDS WHILE TURNING AND CONTINUES TO HAVE THESE PROBLEMS TO DATE. THE ENGINE ALSO BEGAN SMOKING IN JULY, CAUSED, AS IT TURNS OUT, BY A JAMMED BELT ON THE AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD MANY POWER FAILURES IN PARKING LOTS, ON STREETS, THE HIGHWAY TUNNEL IN BOSTON AND MOST RECENTLY ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND WHEN THE CAR STALLED IN CHARLESTOWN, RI WHILE SLOWING DOWN AT AN INTERSECTION. I HAD NO WARNING FLASHERS OR BRAKE LIGHTS AND THE DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN. WITH THE HELP OF THE LOCAL POLICE DEPT. WHO ASSISTED ME UNTIL THE CAR RESTARTED, I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO A LOCAL RESIDENCE. THE FORD DEALERSHIP SENT A FLATBED TRUCK TO TOW IT BACK TO THE FACILITY WHERE I PURCHASED IT. THE DEALERSHIP CONTINUES TO RETURN THE CAR TO ME AS IT DOESN'T FAIL WHEN THEY DRIVE IT DUE TO ITS ERRATIC NATURE, AND SERVICE BY SEVERAL GM DEALERS THEY HAVE SENT IT TO HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEMS EITHER. I AM STUNNED TO LEARN THAT THIS VEHICLE IS NOT ON THE RECENT RECALL LIST FROM GM REGARDING POWER STEERING ISSUES AT SLOW SPEEDS. I 2019 AROUND MARCH TO MAY I TOOK MY CAR TO THE CHEVROLET PLACE IN CLAXTON, GA DUE TO MY BRAKES NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND SHOWING "BRAKE ASSIST" MESSAGE. THEY HAD MY CAR IN THEIR SHOP FIVE TIMES FOR THIS MATTER. FIRST THREE TIMES THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING, FOURTH TIME THEY REPLACED THE WRONG PART AND COST ME ALMOST $500. FIFTH TIME THEY REPLACED IN UNDER THE RECALL THAT WAS OUT THEN. NOW, FEB 2020 MY CAR HAS BRAKE ISSUES AGAIN. THIS TIME MY CAR IS SHOWING "STABILITRAK" AND "BRAKE ASSIST". THEY ARE WANTING TO REPAIR A HUB, A MODULE AND STRUTS AND SAYING THAT THIS IS ALSO DUE TO A "SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM". MY STRUTS WERE RELATED LAST YEAR BEFORE THE PREVIOUS BRAKE REPAIR. I HAVE DONE MY RESEARCH ONLINE AND SEEN THAT MANY VEHICLES FROM MANY YEAR MAKES HAVE HAD THESE ISSUES WITH THEIR VEHICLE AND GM IS AVOIDING THE ISSUE. I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN THAT RIDE IN THIS CAR AND ONE WAS IN THE CAR WITH ME WHEN MY BRAKES DIDN'T WORK PROPERLY THIS PAST ISSUE. The 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe seems to be known for thermostat failure. My thermostat gauge while driving would drop from 210 to 160 and stay pinned on 160 and the fans would turn on. I was told by an auto body shop that it seemed to be electric issues. I also had a wire under the car catch fire and the auto body shop said that is why my standing lights would not work in the rear but my brake lights would work. It’s very dangerous that the electrical failure caused a fire to start under the car. Then, I ran into another issue just this week where the vehicle has a cracked AC condenser and is slowly losing coolant. It’s a manufacturing issue because all of them seem to crack and we’re not made with a proper seal. Another electrical issue I have is when I turn the wheel all the way to the left or right, even when the key is in and engine is on, the engine will shut off. The car completely shuts off and then I have to turn the key to the off position and then it will turn right back on. The steering wheel is also losing power steering and gets very tight when I have to make a turn. The fuses for my radio are blown and when you put new ones in, it blows immediately and doesn’t turn on. I have MANY issues with this vehicle and it’s obviously a manufacturer issue. This is not ok for a vehicle to all around have such horrible electrical issues. I have had issues driving over a pothole and I lose my radio screen or my whole dash screen and then the dealer and auto body shops say the electrical work is too in depth for them.

On several occasions at various speeds, both driving straight and turning, my 2015 Chevy Tahoe has turned off. During higher speeds the SUV will turn back on, instantly, by itself but during lower speeds and turning the car has to be manual turned back on by switching into neutral, pressing the break, and pushing the start button. The most recent time this has happened, it was dark outside and I was turning. I lost everything including my head and tail lights so it was hard for oncoming traffic to see me. I also almost hit someone coming in the other lane because I was unable to fully turn due to the loss of power steering. After this happens, I get many warning/action required messages across the dashboard but no check engine light or code have come up. I will be taking it to the dealer but since it does not happen every time the care is driven, I can only hope they can experience what happens.

While driving multiple times the vehicle has completely lost power or almost died in the middle of the roadway. It has been taken to the dealership multiple times and they are reporting transmission and catalytic converter issues, however these issues were present at 20,000 miles and taken back to the dealership to be fixed. This is now a reoccurrence of issue and the dealership refused to warranty or fix the reoccurring issue. Loss of power while driving and random acceleration have occurred and almost caused accidents on multiple occasions

I was driving down the road at 65mph, when My transmission blew. I believe the correct term is that my torque converter went out. I basically came to a dead stop in traffic, endangering my life and my children's. My understanding is that this is a common issue with this type of transmission. Chevrolet should be ashamed of themselves for not recalling this item.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated while driving 30-45 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed at night, the vehicle shut off inadvertently. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The contact stated that he opened the hood and moved the battery cables around, and the vehicle was able to restart. The contact stated that the vehicle would temporarily lose electrical power while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the contact was advised to add a fuel additive in the vehicle. The contact followed the recommendation, and the check engine warning light was no longer illuminated; however, the failure later recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 149,000.

I PURCHASED A USED 2015 CHEVROLET TAHOE WITH ABOUT 140000 MILES. AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT A MONTH I BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS WITH THE RADIO. IT HAD AN ISSUE PLAYING CLEARLY. THEN THE DISPLAY SCREEN STARTED JUMPING AND MOVING THROUGH DIFFERENT COMMANDS ON ITS OWN. JUST RECENTLY, TWO MONTHS AFTER OWNING THE VEHICLE, IT HAS STARTED TO CUT OFF COMPLETELY WHILE I AM DRIVING IT. THE FIRST TIME IT OCCURRED IS WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. THE SECOND TIME IT OCCURRED, I WAS BACKING INTO MY DRIVE WAY. THIS TIME IT CUT OFF COMPLETELY THREE TIMES IN A ROW. I THINK I PURCHASED A BAD CAR AND NOW I'M STUCK WITH IT UNTIL I CAN GET ENOUGH MONEY TO SELL IT OR TRADE IT FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE.

I own this 2015 Tahoe, it has 80,000 miles on it. While I was driving to work, the vehicle lost power as I was in the middle of major intersection. I was almost rear ended by another car. A few seconds later the car began going again. I had no service lights, no warning lights and no check engine light come on. It was running rough, lacking acceleration. I immediately brought it to my mechanic. They did they're testing and found Cylinder# 6 has collapsed. I was told that I will need a new engine at costs of over $8000.00. I have always maintained my vehicle and it's had regular oil changes every 4000 miles. In fact I'm still making car payments, and now I have to absorb this major cost of replacing an engine. When I looked on line to find some information of this Lifter problem, I found thousands of complaints of premature engine failures on these very expensive vehicles. I believe GM or Chevrolet needs to have a solution to this. How can they expect us consumers to afford this costly repair on such low mileage vehicles. Please look into this Manufacturers problem

Engine service light came on May 7th during a trip which made the vehicle run sporadically and missing which then caused the traction control light to come on as well. When we took the vehicle to the dealership they said that a lifter had stuck and it had ruined the camshaft. Repairs would be 5800.00. We took the vehicle to another dealership and they gave us a better price and said that two other vehicles were in the shop in front of our vehicle for the same issue and some were newer 2019 or later vehicles and that this was a common problem because of defective parts. They said that the new parts were better and should work without the same problem. We do not have our vehicle back yet, I expect it back in a couple days because they had to order the parts. If this is a common problem, the dealerships know what is wrong and how to fix the problem, why is Chevrolet not letting owners know and take care of the problem before they fail and we end up with a large invoice. I had a 2007 Tahoe that had an oil consumption problem that everyone knew about and no one tried to get the problem fixed. This Tahoe was purchased to take on trips. The vehicle stays in a garage full time, only has 38700 miles on the engine and I have had nothing but problems since it was purchased. During one trip two spark plugs were dead, had to be replaced. One trip the battery was dead so I had to get a battery maintainer and keep on the engine battery. Trip to Florida the front window leaked and after that one stationary side window leaked. One trip the rear air conditioner did not work the first time it was used because it was not grounded. I have already decided to never buy another Chevrolet product in the future even though i have not used anything else since getting out of college in 1973. Enough is enough.

2015 Chevrolet Tahoe: The battery indicator goes below the midpoint, then there are different alerts on the dashboard, i.e. stabilitrak, brake assist, battery/power saver, park assist, etc. The a/c all of sudden blows hard with a display blink off, the steering wheel also gets hard to steer and then the vehicle cuts off on its own. The vehicle cutting off has happened mostly when we're trying to park and turning at slow speeds; however, it did happen once while we were stopped at a light and trying to turn into the turning lane and it shut off. The risk is a car accident causing bodily harm and/or property damage. I see recalls for the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe for this same issue, but unfortunately for whatever reason, my particular VIN was not included.

I received a combination of three error messages on the same day and they show every time I start the vehicle. “Stabilitrak” service needed, “steering assist is reduced, drive with care” action required message, and “rear parking assist symbols unavailable” error message when in reverse. Causes hard/lurch changes in gears. Affects the control of the vehicle and the ability to drive in a straight line.

THE NEW 2015 TAHOES HAVE A PUSH BUTTON IGNITION. I PUSHED OFF THE IGNITION WITH THE CAR IN DRIVE (FORGOT TO PUT IN PARK), EXITED THE VEHICLE AND REALIZED THE CAR WAS ROLLING DOWN THE HILL. I QUICKLY JUMPED IN AND APPLIED THE BRAKES TO STOP THE CAR. I WAS SURPRISED THAT EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS IN DRIVE WHEN THE CAR'S IGNITION IS TURNED OFF, THE TRANSMISSION DISENGAGES AND THE CAR IS IN NEUTRAL! THIS IS A BIG HAZARD. The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated while driving 70 mph, the vehicle would shake violently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the front-end alignment was performed however, the failure recurred. The dealer was made aware of the recurring failure and informed the contact to replace the tires. The vehicle was taken to another dealer where the tires were replaced however, the failure persisted. The contact then contacted the first dealer and was informed by the dealer that the failure may be due to the front passenger's side bent rim and needed to take it to a rim specialist to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 126,000.

NOW IT IS VERY OBVIOUS THEY NEED TO BE REPLACED AND I'M A GENTLE DRIVER AND KEEP IT ON SMOOTH ROADS. AFTER READING ALL THE OTHER COMPLAINTS I AM AFRAID THE SIDE WALLS WILL BLOW OUT ON ME OR SOMETHING EVEN WORSE MAY HAPPEN. CAR WAS VIBRATING WHEN GETTING ABOVE 45 MILES PER HOUR. THOUGHT WHEELS NEEDED TO BE BALANCED. ONCE BALANCED,PULLED TRAILER AND VIBRATION WAS EXTREMELY WORSE. VIBRATING LIKE WE HAD THE BACK WINDOW ROLLED DOWN, BUT ALL WINDOWS WERE UP. WENT BACK TO DEALER IN NEWNAN GEORGIA AND THEY HOOKED UP A TRAILER TO ANOTHER VEHICLE AND IT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. MY TAHOE SHOWED STABILITRAK ISSUES WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT IT A YEAR AGO. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE AND TOOK IT INTO THE NEAREST DEALER. IT WAS OK FOR AWHILE BUT THE SAME PROBLEM STARTED AGAIN A MONTH AGO. THE TRUCK TURNS ON AND OFF FOR ABOUT 1 SECOND AS I'M PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE. HOWEVER, NOW I'VE HAD ISSUES WHEN I TRY TO LOCK IT WITH THE FOB; IT DOES NOTHING. I HAVE BEEN STRANDED AT A BUSINESS BECAUSE IT WON'T TURN BACK ON AND I HAVE TO WAIT AWHILE AND TRY TO CRANK IT. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE'2015 CHEVY TAHOE LT ON JULY 1, 2019 I HAVE HAD INTERMITTENT GLITCHES IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE HEADLIGHTS, DASH LIGHTS, AND MYLINK TOUCHSCREEN WILL COMPLETELY BLACK OUT AND THEN COME BACK ON. HOWEVER, WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP FOR A SPLIT SECOND. THIS IS HAPPENING WHILE DRIVING, AT SPEEDS OVER 50MPH, DURING THE NIGHT AND DAY. IT WAS SUSPECTED TO BE THE ALTERNATOR OR BATTERY, AFTER REPLACING THE ALTERNATOR THERE WAS NO CHANGE IN THE BEHAVIOR. IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. THE SERVICE STABILITRACK WARNING WILL ALSO POP UP AFTER THE POWER IS RESTORED. THIS ISSUE IS VERY DANGEROUS AND AFTER READING DOZENS OF FORUMS IT'S CLEAR THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER AND OVER AT LEAST 20 TIMES SINCE JULY 2019, RANDOMLY AND COMPLETELY UNEXPECTEDLY.

RECENTLY REPLACED THE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBERS THAT WE'RE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL CONTINUES AND IT ALSO FEELS TOO LOOSE ON THE BRAKES. MY WIFE AND MYSELF PURCHASED A NEW CHEVROLET TAHOE LTZ IN 2015. THE FIRST MONTH THE A/C HAD TO BE REPLACED, RAC AND PINION STEERING AND REAR SHOCKS. THE WARRANTY COVERED THE COST. 2016 OF JANUARY THE A/C STARTED MAKING NOISES AND NOT COOILNG, THE FRONT STRUTS MAGNETIC,BALL JOINTS AND STEERING RACK PINION WENT OUT. THIRD OCCURRENCE WAS IN 2017 DECEMBER THE FRONT MAGNETIC STRUCTS AGAIN. WE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS NEW VEHICLE FROM THE TIME WE PURCHASED IT. THE SUSPENSION IS HORRIBLE AND WE LATER FOUND OUT THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF OTHERS WITH THE IDENTITCAL HORRIBLE SUSPENSION PROBLEM. THIS VEHICLE IS PRESENTLY AT 62K MILE AND NEEDS FRONT END SUSPENSION REPLACEMENT. THE WARRANTY DO NOT COVER PASS THREE YEARS. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS HORRIBLE GENERAL MOTORS PRODUCT. OUR TAHOE HAS HAD AN ISSUE OVER THE PAST 9 MONTHS. THE ENGINE UNEXPECTEDLY STALLS. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE WHILE PULLING OUT ON TO A BUSY HIGHWAY. VERY FRIGHTENING. WE FIRST TOOK THIS TO THE DEALER ON 8/15/17. THEY SPENT HOURS TRYING TO DIAGNOSE AND FOUND NOTHING. THE STALLING CONTINUED TO HAPPEN OCCASIONALLY. EARLY DECEMBER THE STALLING OCCURRED WHILE PULLING IN TO OUR GARAGE. WE LOST ALL POWER MOMENTARILY AND IT WOULD NOT RESTART THIS TIME. I DISCONNECTED THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE AND THEN RECONNECTED IT AND EVERYTHING WORKED FINE AGAIN. WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER ON 12/8/17. IAFTER RESEARCHING THIS MORE IT SEEMS NUMEROUS PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. TRACTION CONTROL WARNING COMES ON WHEN THE STALL OCCURS. THIS TIME I WAS MORE INSISTENT THAT THEY FIX THIS AND EXPLAINED MY WIFE WAS SCARED TO DEATH TO DRIVE THIS. THIS TIME THE DEALER SAID THAT THEY HAVE CHANGED THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE ON OTHER CUSTOMERS VEHICLES AND THAT HAS FIXED THE PROBLEM. STOPPED AT MY SISTERS HOUSE, WHEN LEAVING I WAS BACKING UP AND WHILE BACKING UP I NOTICED A MAIL BOX STAND WITH 2 MAILBOXES ON A STEAL STAND. I DID NOT HAVE CONTROL ON STOPPING THE VEHICLE. I DID SOME DAMAGE ON THE REAR LEFT HAND SIDE OF MY CHEVY TAHOE. I CAREFULLY DROVE THE TAHOE TO MY HOME DOWN THE STREET, PARKED IT AND CALLED CHEVY ROAD SIDE SERVICE. The contact stated that while driving 65 MPH, the vehicle hesitated and the temperature gauge failed to function as needed, with an abnormally loud sound coming from the cooling fans. The check engine warning light illuminated, and a message about the battery was displayed, and a warning light about the battery was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the thermostat housing had failed and the wiring to the fan had failed. The vehicle was repaired. Several days later, the contact stated that on a separate occasion, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that the catalytic converter had failed. The vehicle was repaired; however, the same day the vehicle was picked up from the independent mechanic, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the timing chain had failed. The vehicle remained at the dealer unrepaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 165,880.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving from a complete stop and while driving at various speeds, the vehicle made an abnormal whining sound. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where the transmission was replaced. The contact stated that after retrieving the vehicle from the dealer while driving 10-15 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed but was significantly firm and failed to respond. The contact drove into a curb and struck a parking sign pole. The air bags did not deploy. The contact stated that the failure exacerbated pre-existing injuries. The dealer was contacted and advised the contact to restart the vehicle and depress the brake pedal to verify whether the brake pedal was operable. The contact followed the dealer's instructions, and the brake pedal responded as needed; however, the vehicle was towed to the residence because the contact was concerned about driving the vehicle. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the vacuum pump needed to be replaced. The dealer replaced the vacuum pump; however, the failure recurred while driving. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the lifters had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Midway Chevrolet Plainwell Auto Dealer (381 12th St, Plainwell, MI 49080), where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump wires, the transfer case oil and seal, the engine oil coolant hose, the valve cover gasket, and other unknown parts needed to be replaced. Additionally, the dealer determined that the ball joints needed to be replaced, and an alignment needed to be performed. The dealer also determined that the air ride compressor was noisy. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to a third dealer, Heritage Chevrolet, Inc. (350 W Dickman Rd, Battle Creek, MI 49037), where it was diagnosed with an oil leak. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and several claims were filed; however, the manufacturer denied the claims. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

Recently I've noticed that when I try to accelerate or take off from stop it does not pick up speed as use to. My engine rpms rise but speed is getting less and less. I've also noticed my transmission temperature is staying between 190-200 degrees which gm has already had recalls over pertaining to this style transmission having issues due to high heat. Vehicle has always had maintenance kept up with and never abused. Have taken to local shop since warranty ran out several times for inspection of transmission well my complaints in regards and have fluid done. Recently I've noticed fluid is needing to be replaced more frequently due to losing viscosity from overheating and being burnt, has the familiar and similar smell of toast being burnt. This is a 2016 Tahoe ltz w just over 200k, yes in some ways a lot but considering the cost of vehicle new/age/synthetic fluids and everything it seems to me the transmission should last longer especially considering it's been maintained. These new vehicles are outrageous and the transmissions are very expensive as well, considering these same transmissions have had recalls from GM I'm a little aggravated and frustrated on how some can and can't. I'm familiar and aware they say it's per manufacturing plant and particular models but confused as to how if the transmission that has had recalls for overheating doesn't comply to all the transmissions that are same type, I think it's bogus n a way not to be responsible for accepting failures n having to replace all parts so gm says it only happened here n with these parts. I guarantee you if someone would take a look at gm shipping and papers they would see it. If a 2016 4l60e had problems it's more than likely all of them in that year had all same parts so therefore all acceptable to failure, its not like transmission maker chose different parts to send to different plants or this get that no thats just b.s. so there not responsible for all of them so they pick plant with most failures

Went to start my vehicle 10min prior to me taking off. Five min into my drive I felt my Tahoe start to lose power stop shifting. Once i was able to pull over to a safe location put the car into park and put the car back into drive and the car will not move.

I was constantly smelling a strong odor of gas coming from the inside/outside of my 2015 Chevy Tahoe. When I purchased the vehicle in 10/23 everything appeared fine. I researched the internet to determine what the problem could be & found dozens of similar situations. People saying the fuel line rubs the undercarriage of the vehicle causing a pin hole size in the fuel line causing it to leak gas. Currently my vehicle is in the shop and the problem is TBD.

My 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe with 90,000 miles needs a new camshaft and all 16 lifters need to be replaced. There was no forewarning about this huge problem. Literally, one day I was out in my car, and the accelerator suddenly stopped working for a while. Then, all of a sudden there was a hard jerk, and it sped up on its own. When I finally found a safe spot to pull over I went to push on the brakes and the entire car just started shaking. My poor children were terrified as this could’ve turned into a terrible accident for me and the other drivers around me. I immediately called my local mechanic and was told to bring it in immediately. On my way there the service indicator lamp came on. Upon inspection by my mechanic I was told I need a whole new engine. I have not had it repaired because I cannot afford to do so. I would be more than happy to allow someone to come and inspect it upon request. Apparently this is a huge problem with GM vehicles that GM is completely choosing to ignore.

Check engine light came on after vehicle starting losing power in steering column. Speedometer was moving up and down with some other gauges doing the same simultaneously. The vehicle provided warning of stabilitrak after dismissed, it gave another warning stating, “Steering Assist is Reduced Drive with Care.” It became harder to accelerate and very distracting as the stabilitrak error continued to pop up with the speedometer and other gauges, such as RPM, going up and down continuously. These gauges would then stop working altogether then start to work briefly. Then, the gauges would continue to malfunction by going up and down with the stabilitrak error on screen. I got off the interstate and I have having issues with acceleration from first gear. Vehicle was hesitating which was terrifying. It was failing to engage. Transmission fluid rose from 187 to 208 degrees during a brief time period on the screen. Could not use the M gear at all.

1.) The wire harness between the body control modules are failing. 2.) When I tow my boat I could loose braking at any time. Display of " service trailer brake system" overrides all other displays on console. Repetitive chiming noise is very distracting and irritating. 3.) Yes, I took it back in soon after i purchased it (a lot of money) and the Chevy rep said it probably was something to do with loose wires concerning the towing. I showed them a picture of the the warning display that I took immediately. They supposedly plugged in a diagnostic reader and said that since the code was no longer showing that they were unable to determine what precisely the issue was, but it was safe to drive. 4.) Component was not inspected by anyone. I was told that if it came on and I was in the area; to bring it in so that they can see the display. 5.) Yes there was a warning message that showed up multiple times. 1 or 2 weeks after being purchased on 3/11/22. I feel that the Chevy reps know of the issue ( bad wiring harness between 2 of the body control modules) and acted as if the had no clue of the picture of the warning display that I showed them and they were able to tell me it was safe to drive even though they said they didn't know what the issue was. ???? I like Chevy vehicles; it would be nice to see Chevy stand behind their product. This is the 2nd Tahoe that I've owned, standing behind your work keeps and promotes customers.

Brake Petal is hard and you have to punch very hard to stop at slow speed as in a parking lot or traffic. It will scare you because the vehicle doesn’t want to stop when moving at slow speed. Unsure if it does it in reverse or not.

I purchased this vehicle a few weeks ago. I was told by the Salesman that everything worked in the car. I test drove it and the lane departure warning was working so I assumed the forward collision would be working. In real life driving, I have nearly run in to numerous cars as the forward collision does not work. In one instance, someone slammed on their breaks, my collision didn't alert me, thankfully I saw it, but I had to swerve off the road to keep from hitting them. In addition, the cooling seats work, but the heated seats do not work on either side of the front seats. Lastly, I have discovered that my Navigation system does not work. I can't get it to change to my current location and the GPS is X'd out. This is what I have so far, but sadly, I feel more things are going to happen with this vehicle. I am working with the dealership on the forward collision and heated seats, but don't know if I will get anywhere with them. They have said they will not fix the Navigation system, which is affected by the CAL (calibration) error message on my screen.

On several occasions the following warnings will pop up. Service Stabilitrack, Tighen Gas cap, Service trailer brake system, Automatic collision prep unvailable, and the check engine light will come on. Then the dashboard lights will flicker on/off, the montior will turn black, the doors will unlock and lock. It has happened when I am going 70 MPH down the freeway. And on several occassions the car engine will turn off/stall as i am either pulling into an intersection, parking spot or coming to a stop. I will take it to the shop and have the check engine code scanned/turned off and it will be fine for a week and then start again

I FEEL A STRONG VIBRATION DURING THIS AND A LOW PITCHED CRUNCHING SOUND, AND CANNOT PUSH THE BRAKE DOWN. I AM AFRAID I WILL HAVE A COLLISION. I DID THE 2019 RECALL IN WHICH THE DEALER RECALIBRATED SOMETHING WITH THE BRAKES. BUT IT I CONTINUING TO HAVE PROBLEMS, I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO TEST THE VACUUM PUMP, BUT THEY SAID THE "TESTING WAS NORMAL" AND THEY WERE NOT WILLING TO DRIVE IT LONG ENOUGH TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM I WAS HAVING, SAYING THAT IT WAS WORN ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS THAT WERE CAUSING THE ISSUE. SINCE PURCHASING MY VEHICLE IN 2016 I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES. I HAVE ALWAYS NOTICED A DRIP OF OIL IN MY GARAGE THAT WASN'T CONSISTENT AND WHEN TELLING MY DEALERSHIP ABOUT IT THEY STATED THEY WOULD LOOK INTO IT AND FOUND NOTHING. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE SIDE DOOR BLACK FASCIA FLEW OFF, THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED 3 STATING IT WAS STILL UNDER THE 34K WARRANTY. I HAD REQUESTED THEY REPLACE/SECURE THE 4TH AND WAS TOLD IT WAS FINE AND DIDN'T NEED REPLACING. I RETURNED FOR AN OIL CHANGE ABOUT 6 MONTHS LATER AND REPORTED THE ONE THAT WAS NOT REPLACED IS NOW LOOSE AND WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP I WAS OUT OF MY WARRANTY PERIOD AND WOULD BE CHARGED AN HOUR LABOR AS WELL AS PARTS, COSTING ROUGHLY $120.00. I THEN HAD MY AC GO OUT IN SUMMER OF 2019 AND HAD THAT REPLACED SUPPOSEDLY A RECALL. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR AN OIL CHANGE IN FALL 2019 I MENTIONED MY CAR WAS NOT STOPPING PROPERLY WHILE BRAKING AND THEY INFORMED ME THERE WAS A CURRENT RECALL THAT WOULD FIX THE ISSUE AND THAT WAS PERFORMED. I WAS STILL NOTICING THE BRAKING ISSUES. IN NOV.2019 I STARTED TO EXPERIENCE MISFIRING WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND NOT SHIFTING CORRECTLY. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND ON THE WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP IT WORSENED AND I HAD TO GET IT TOWED. I WAS INFORMED I WOULD NOT GET A LOANER CAR AS ALL OF THEIRS WERE OUT TO PEOPLE WITH PARTS REQUIRED WITHOUT AN ETA FROM GM. I WAS CALLED 4 DAYS LATER AS I HAD NOT HEARD BACK AND WAS TOLD MY CAR NEEDED A REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION AS WELL AS A NEW VACUUM PUMP AS THIS HAD FAILED AND IS THE REASON FOR THE HARD BRAKING. I LIVE IN A FAIRLY ARID CLIMATE, WHERE RAIN DOESN'T OCCUR FREQUENTLY. A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO, AFTER MY TAHOE HAD BEEN SITTING IN THE RAIN, I NOTICED WATER DRIPPING FROM THE INSIDE DOOR PILLAR WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR. I JUST ASSUMED IT WAS WATER THAN CAME IN FROM THE OUTSIDE WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR. THEN ABOUT NINE DAYS AGO, WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN, WATER BEGAN DRIPPING FROM THE TOP CENTER CONSOLE AREA, IN A STEADY STREAM. WHEN I TOOK IT INTO THE CHEVROLET DEALER THEY SAID THAT THE SEAL ON THE HI-FREQUENCY ANTENNAE (SHARK FIN ANTENNAE), OVER THE DRIVER'S SIDE WAS FAULTY, AND THAT WATER WAS LEAKING IN THROUGH IT. SINCE THERE WAS NOT A RECALL FOR MY VIN, AND SINCE RAIN WAS PREDICTED TO CONTINUE FOR SEVERAL DAYS, I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO PAY $452.32 TO HAVE A NEW ANTENNAE INSTALLED. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT DID WHAT THEY COULD TO DRY THE AREA OUT IN BETWEEN THE ROOF AND THE CEILING AND LEFT THE COVER OFF THE SIDE DRIVER'S AIRBAG SO IT WOULD DRY, TELLING ME TO RETURN IN A WEEK SO THEY COULD REPLACE THE COVER ON THE AIRBAG. IN ADDITION TO BEING OUT A LOT OF MONEY, I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SIDE AIRBAG POSSIBLY MALFUNCTIONING AFTER BEING WET OVER A PERIOD OF TIME.

BAD VIBRATION AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 60 TO 75 MPH ( GM DEALER HAS HAD CAR 3 TIMES AND REPLACED TIRES, ROAD FORCED BALANCED, CHECKED ALIGNMENT WITH NO SUCCESS ) ; WIND NOISE AND BUFFETING INSIDE CAR WITH ALL WINDOWS IN THE UP POSITION AT SPEEDS FROM 35 MPH AND UP CAUSING DIZZINESS AND NAUSEA ON LONGER RIDES. EXTERIOR DOOR PLASTIC FASCIA BECOMES LOOSE AND FALLS OFF DUE TO METAL CLIP BREAKING OFF AT THE ATTACHMENT POINT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET TAHOE. EVERYTIME THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS IN THE VEHICLE WOULD ILLUMINATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING; HOWEVER, THE DETAILS OF THE DIAGNOSIS COULD NOT BE PROVIDED AT THE TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN.

THE FORWARD COLLISION ALERT SYSTEM JUST DOESN'T WORK. I CANNOT MAKE IT PRODUCE A COLLISION ALERT NO MATTER WHAT I DO. FOR EXAMPLE IT IS ADVERTISED TO PROVIDE A HEADS UP VISUAL WARNING AS WELL AS AN AUDIAL WARNING IF I APPROACH THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME TO RAPIDLY. IT DOES NOT THE SYSTEM ALSO A GREEN AUTOMOBILE ICON WHEN YOU ARE FOLLOWING CLOSER THAN ABOUT 200 FEET TO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF YOU. THE GREEN ICON IS ADVERTISED TO TURN YELLOW IF YOU FOLLOW TOO CLOSE. IT DOES NOT. THE ONLY TIME THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN THE RED HEADS UP DISPLAY IS WHEN IT IS A FALSE ALERT. ALL AND ALL, THIS SYSTEM WHICH WAS TOUTED TO BE A GREAT SAFETY FEATURE IS TOTALLY WORTHLESS.

UPON PURCHASE OF A NEW 2015 TAHOE I OBSERVED THE POSSIBILITY OF A PROBLEM WITH THE FORWARD COLLISION ALERT SYSTEM (FCA). I REPORTED THIS TO THE SERVICE MANAGER AT CHEVROLET. ON 9 APRIL 2015 THE SERVICE MANAGER, ASSISTANT SERVICE MANAGER, MASTER TECHNICIAN, AND I TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR A TEST DRIVE. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT MODERATE HIGHWAY SPEEDS I DEMONSTRATED THE VARIOUS PHASES AND OPERATION OF VEHICLE DETECTION. THE FCA HAS PLENTY OF SENSITIVITY AND DETECTS VEHICLES IN EXCESS OF THE SPECIFIED DISTANCE IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL WHICH IS NOT AN ISSUE. AT A MODERATE CLOSING RATE BETWEEN VEHICLES THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ICON CHANGES FROM GREEN TO AMBER-ORANGE WHICH APPEARS NOMINAL. HOWEVER, THE RED ALARM HEADS-UP WINDSHIELD DISPLAY, RAPID HIGH-PITCHED BEEPS AND RED ICON ARE NEVER ACTIVATED UNTIL A CLOSING DISTANCE ABOUT ~3 FEET BEFORE A COLLISION. THERE IS VIRTUALLY ZERO REACTION TIME FOR A DRIVER TO BRAKE THE VEHICLE AT LESS THAN ONE CAR LENGTH BEFORE GOING TO RED. IN ADDITION, THE SYSTEM IS SUPPOSED TO DISENGAGE THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL (ACC). CONSIDERING TIME, RATE, AND DISTANCE THIS IS INEFFECTIVE AS THE MASS AND KINETIC ENERGY ALSO NEEDS TO FULLY DISENGAGE BEFORE A POTENTIAL COLLISION. BECAUSE OF THE DANGER OF CREATING A TRAFFIC INCIDENT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TESTED TO THE LEVEL OF A FULL COLLISION. I WAS INFORMED BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT THERE ARE NO SERVICE BULLETINS, ADJUSTMENTS, OR SOFTWARE PATCHES THAT MAY CORRECT THIS DEFICIENCY BY THE DEALER. GM STATED THAT THE SYSTEM WORKS AS DESIGNED AND DELIVERED. THE GM FORWARD COLLISION ALARM (FCA) DELIVERED PRODUCT APPEARS TO HAVE A DESIGN DEFICIENCY AND IS AN OPERATIONAL SAFETY HAZARD WAITING TO HAPPEN. IF THE FCA DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY THEN WHY INTRODUCE IT TO A CONSUMER REGARDLESS OF GM OWNER MANUAL WARNINGS ABOUT TRUSTING ALERT SYSTEMS. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE TOP PORTION OF THE CARGO WINDOW WAS UNLEVELED AND THE GLASS WAS NOT SECURED AND COULD POTENTIALLY FRACTURE. THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CARGO WINDOW WAS HIGHER THAN THE DRIVER SIDE AND THERE WAS AN EXPOSED GAP. THE SUN ROOF ALSO LEAKED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CARGO DOOR WAS WELDED POORLY BY THE DEALER AND THE TRIM ON THE DOOR WAS DETERIORATING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE PAINT WAS DAMAGED ON THE HOOD AND THE PAINT WAS BUBBLING NEAR THE HINGE ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE SUN ROOF, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 165,000.

4TH AND MOST DANGEROUS OF 4 INCIDENTS IN 3 WEEKS OF OWNERSHIP OF 2015 CHEVY TAHOE LT. WITHOUT DRIVER INSTRUCTION OR INTERFERENCE THE 2015 TAHOE SHIFTED ITSELF INTO 4WD DESPITE DIAL ON 2WD. STEERING DIFFICULT, CAR JERKED, ENGINE REVVED DIFFERENTLY AND TROUBLE IN REVERSE. NO WARNING SIGNALS ON DISPLAY AND I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS HAPPENING. DROVE .5 MI., PULLED OVER RESTARTED, AND THEN "4 WHEEL DRIVE, DISMISS" ON DISPLAY OVER STEERING WHEEL (NO SEAT VIBRATION, FLASHING LIGHTS AS WITH LANE DRIFTING). TRIED TO "UNDISMISS", CONSULTED MANUAL AND ENSURED DIAL WAS IN 2WD. CUT IGNITION OFF, RESTARTED, SAME LIGHT. TEST DROVE ANOTHER 1 MI. TO SEE IF WARNING DISPLAY MALFUNCTION...CAR JERKED AND STEERING AS IF NON-POWER STEERING. CALLED DEALERSHIP (RICK HENDRICK'S CITY CHEVROLET, CHARLOTTE, NC) AND SVS TECH HAD NEVER HEARD OF SUCH AN ISSUE AND CONSULTED OTHER TECHS (ON HOLD 15 MIN). FINALLY SVS MGR SAID CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE BUT TO DRIVE IT HOME 'SLOWLY" AND THEY WOULD TOW TO DEALERSHIP AND GET ME A LOANER. SVS MGR, ON 3RD PHONE CALL AFTER I THREATENED TO NOTIFY NTSB, SAID HE WAS CALLING A GM "PROGRAM MGR" TO SEE ABOUT MY CAR'S "DANGEROUS ISSUE". AFTER THE CAR ROLLED WHEN IGNITION TURNED OFF (RADIO AND DASH LIGHTS OFF TOO) AND IT HIT A DUMPSTER B/C WE HAD NOT PUT IT IN PARK, YET IGNITION STILL TURNED OFF (LUCKILY NO ONE HURT BUT SIGNIFICANT PAINT DAMAGE), KEY FOB WOULDN'T PROGRAM SEATS/MIRRORS, MYLINK WOULDN'T PAIR TO MY PHONE AND NOW TO LEARN THERE IS A RECALL FOR ROLLING B/C CAR SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL? THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE CAUSING THAT VEHICLE SWERVE INTO THE OPPOSITE LANE AND CRASH INTO THREE OTHER VEHICLES. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE CONTACTS SEAT BELTS FAILED TO LOCK. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED FOR THE PASSENGERS OF THE OTHER VEHICLE FOR UNKNOWN INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BUT THE ENTIRE FRONT PANEL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED.
