There are times that the brake assist will stop working. The bake assist light has started coming on once in a while. I looked up the vin and it said all recalls were repaired. I have a concern that the vaccume brake issue was not properly taken care of at whatever dealership that claimed to fix the issue.

I called my local Chevrolet dealership to get the recalled on my Tahoe fixed and they can’t fix the recall for a full month. I’m very concerned because it’s a recall on the vacuum pump so it affects my brakes. My truck is a daily driver so I will have to gamble for a month on the streets and pray the brakes don’t get any worse.

At 155,000 miles transmission shudders and slips gears. Torque, converter went out and started slipping more and whining and making a grinding sound. Transmission had to be completely rebuilt, with all six clutches, and a brand new torque converter had to be installed.

The vehicle shudders and shakes going down the road causing a safety hazard when failing. The transmission fluid has been changed multiple times and yet the transmission remains unstable with no errors or check lights appearing. When taken to the repair shop it seems there is a large number of failures for this transmission type.

Component Failure: AC condenser assembly failed due to thermal cycling cracks in combination transmission fluid/oil cooler design - exact failure documented in GM TSB 17336-05. TSB states "thermal cycling creates a crack that may allow refrigerant to escape." Safety Risk: AC system failure after sun exposure creates dangerous interior temperatures lasting 30-45 minutes with family including two teenagers in 95°F+ NC summer heat. Risk of heat exhaustion/stroke during highway travel where immediate stopping impossible. Dealer Confirmation: Hendrick Chevrolet diagnosed refrigerant leak from upper left condenser on 7/22/25 (Invoice CTCS913252, $1,904.60). Official work order documents identical symptoms and repair operation covered by GM TSB 17336-05 Special Coverage. Manufacturer Knowledge: GM issued TSB 17336-05 acknowledging their combi-cooler design cannot withstand normal thermal cycling, affecting 908,000+ vehicles. GM provides Customer Service Satisfaction Campaign 17336-01 free repairs for this exact defect but denied my reimbursement (Case #72260590) solely due to mileage, claiming manufacturing design defect becomes customer responsibility after 60k miles. Symptoms: Problem began summer 2024 - AC functions normally when parked in shade but requires 30-45 minutes to cool after direct sun exposure, exactly matching TSB heat-soak failure pattern. No warning lights as system retained sufficient refrigerant until complete thermal stress failure.

Air conditioning could cause a safety problem during hot days, forcing the driver to drive with all windows down and still remain very hot and sweaty while driving. The A/C system in this vehicle is so poorly designed that I've spent $6,000 in 8 years of ownership just to keep the A/C running. The primary problem is that is has a separate rear HVAC zone, which requires both high & low side freon lines to run under the length of the vehicle to a rear condenser. These lines are not shielded in any way from being hit by road debris. I'm replacing a leaking rear A/C for the third time at a cost of $1800. These lines should be shielded so they are not getting pelted by rocks and other debris. It's a very bad design that exposes a potential safety issue. When these lines break, it also dumps all of the freon into the atmosphere.

I was driving on the freeway when I lost power and the engine started to vibrate. Had to have it towed back to the dealer. They stated it was a bad lifter in cylinder six. It will cost 8K+ to repair. I have had the car less than a year and less than 90k in mileage.

The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated while driving uphill, the vehicle stalled and started rolling backwards. The contact allowed the vehicle to roll back to a stop sign. The contact depressed the brake pedal and shifted to park(P). The contact stated that the vehicle was restarted after several attempts. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the oil pump, fuel injectors, and the spark plugs had failed. The contact's husband stated that while driving 65 MPH, the vehicle jerked, and the instrument gauges decreased to zero(0) and then increased. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the transmission was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to dealer, where it was diagnosed that the camshaft and the engine lifters had failed. The dealer determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.

My engine is blown at only 80,000 miles. Dealer said bad lifter. I was on the freeway and with no warning I lost power and black smoke. No warning. And now $16,000 to repair. Only 80,000 miles. At 100,000 you change spark plugs. I cannot afford to fix it. I spent 6 years saving up for just the down and now it’s gone. And I could have been very hurt on the freeway and hurt other people. I hope someone can help me.

After lifters on engine failed on original engine at approximately 47K miles, engine was rebuilt. Received Tahoe back with 47,791 miles on odometer. Brand new Chevrolet lifters failed prior to odometer reaching 48,903, bending rods and requiring that the engine that was just rebuilt to be replaced or rebuilt again. While driving engine loss oil pressure with red light warning coming on telling to immediately turn off engine. Engine may have ceased while car was in motion, putting driver and passenger(s), if any, in immediate and imminent danger. it was almost 7 months to rebuild engine last time due to GMAC parts being unavailable. Brand new parts failed at roughly 1K miles, there may be a quality control and/or design issue with lifters.

The stabilitrak light comes on and the whole vehicle shuts off, this happens while driving and turning, the entire vehicle loses power. I have had it inspected at the dealer, they said it’s normal. This is a continuous problem. When it shuts off I have no stealing breaks or anything. This put my life, my children’s life and fellow travelers lives at risk. Something is wrong with this yrs vehicle and I don’t know what it is.

Several months back I took my car in to my local dealer for a recall and asked them about what was going in with my navigation and radio because when I'm driving the navigation system will deter from my destination that I put in and then start flipping through radio stations on its own and will not let me change or control it at all.

There’s a modulator in the rear end of my SUV that has been melting near exhaust every since purchased had taken to the dealership it was purchased from and also back to a Chevrolet dealership. At the time my warranty was still on vehicle at both places was told I will have to cover cost. This issue is very defective afraid of a fire being caused. I have small children and this matter needs to be addressed as soon as possible. The dealership states to just tuck it in keep a way from exhaust pipe which is dangerous and impossible to keep away when driving.

The vehicle electrical system malfunctions. The vehicle stalls when the turn signal lever is shifted. When the steering wheel is turn to the right or left the vehicle stalls. Upon acceleration, particularly on the highway, and when the turn signal lever is shifted, the vehicle's gauges go haywire. The engine light comes on, the gauges move rapidly back and forth, a "Stabalink" error appears, the doors lock and unlock. My family and I have been put in unsafe conditions because of the electrical issues with this vehicle. We have been traveling on the highway when the vehicle stalled out. We have turned into intersections when the vehicle has stalled in oncoming traffic. The vehicle has accelerated and decelerated spontaneously causing us to loose control. The issue started approximately one year ago. Approximately three months ago, we took the vehicle to a Chevrolet Service Center in Woodbridge, VA to have it inspected. We were advised they could not locate the problem and the vehicle was returned to us without any repairs. The problems with the vehicle have started to occur more frequently. We have stopped driving the vehicle because of concerns for our. One week ago we dropped the vehicle to a Chevrolet Service Center in Baltimore, Maryland, which is over 50 miles from our home to have it inspected. The vehicle currently remains at the service center.

At 34, 716 right front strut needed to be replaced. At 40,719 both rear air shocks needed to be replaced. Suspension was loose and made steering difficult on surfaces that were not flat and smooth.

2016 Tahoe with 57,000 miles. All 4 of the shocks are locked up. The truck bumps very hard with no give making control at high speeds dangerous. This problem is known to Chevrolet if you look at the reviews but nothing is done to recall or fix. Instead they expect the customer to discover it and pay $4,000 to replace. I discovered because of bad situation on the highway. Are they going to wait until someone is killed? Chevrolet should not only replace them in recall but should pay all customer back for their costs.

This vehicle is less than 5 years old, has less than 63K miles, and the front struts are blown and leaking oil and rear shock is locked up. This makes the vehicle dangerous to drive and difficult to control on bumpy roads.

IN MAY 2018, OUR UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLIES WERE LOOSE AND MAKING NOISES WHEN DRIVING OVER BUMPS. WE TOOK THE CAR TO LES SCHWAB AND THEY FOUND FAILURE OF BOTH FRONT CONTROL ARMS. THE UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS WERE LOOSE AS WELL BEYOND WHAT WOULD BE EXPECTED. THEY REQUIRED USE OF OUR EXTENDED WARRANTY TO REPAIR THE DEFECTS.

While driving up a hill on a road trip the vehicle felt as if it wouldn't speed up when pressing on the accelerator- this was short lived. Upon parking in the driveway after the trip my husband noticed a fuel smell coming from the rear driver side of vehicle. The next day it was difficult to start and fuel smell was even more pronounced. As it was the weekend we did not drive it and waited to contact the dealer on Monday. Drove the vehicle to the dealership to have the smell diagnosed and while the engine was running and vehicle was in park, fuel began pouring out underneath. There were NO warning lights whatsoever. Fortunately our granddaughter had just been taken back to her parents as she had previously been in the vehicle! This could have caught fire!!! The vehicle is currently at the dealership and a leak in the fuel line has been diagnosed and is scheduled for repair as soon as the part comes in.

The fuel supply hose/line from the fuel tank to the vehicle connection rubbed through, due to a loose fit where it attaches to the tank, causing a fuel leak. There were no indicator/warning lights, though a hard start/extended cranking time occurred on occasion. Raw fuel could be smelled with a very slight drip, which could only be seen on clean concrete. Vehicle had only 54,000 miles on it and driven very lightly, but does drive on dirt/gravel roads.

On 18 Apr 2022, my 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ was found to have a gas leak around the fuel tank area when the car was taken to the Chevrolet Service Center for an oil change. On that day, there was both a strong fuel smell and presence of a pool of raw gas. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. Additionally, I was not notified by GM/Chevrolet that this could be an issue. After inspection and diagnosis, the service technician found a "rubbed spot" on the the feed pipe and replaced it. He noted that he "made sure the new pipe is secured on tank as designed to prevent future occurrence". This vehicle is used as primary transport for my family. The fact that it leaked gas while I was driving put my family's safety at risk. I also believe that other owners and their families could be at risk. After researching the problem, I have found several posts from other owners and a service bulletin that describes the issue and the service procedures to fix it. I believe there should be a recall for this well-known major safety issue. I have emailed GM/Chevrolet's customer service department and provide them with details of my complaints and supporting documentation also attached in this compliant form. The items are: 1. My service invoice 799356 dated 20 Apr 2022. 2. Picture of the pin hole on the defective fuel feed pipe removed from my vehicle. 3. Service Bulletin 17-NA-304, dated February 2020 which provides guidance to professional technicians on the issue(s) and service procedures to fix it. The first edition of this bulletin was released in September 2017 which is after I purchased my 2016 Tahoe. 4. Several forum posts from other Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban owners who have experienced the same major safety issue.

THE VEHICLE IS LEAKING GASOLINE FROM THE TANK. SUSPECT IT IS LEAKING FROM THE FUEL LINE ON TOP OF THE TANK--NO HOLES OR IMPACT ON TANK APPARENT ON THE UNDER SIDE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE IS STILL LEAKING OIL FROM THE DRAIN PAN EVEN AFTER RE-SEALED BY DEALER. THIS IS ALL IN ADDITION TO THE A/C GOING OUT TWICE....AND NEW LIFTERS IN THE ENGINE.

The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and depressing the brake pedal, the pedal was soft and was almost depressed to the floorboard. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent but was a recurring failure. The contact stated that the ABS/ESC warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the warning lights then started flashing. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the Electronic Brake Control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V645000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the vehicle had been repaired by the previous owner. The contact had to pay out of pocket for the repairs. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and advised the contact that the recall had been previously repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.

Near collision with pedestrian in crosswalks on left turns and near collision with pedestrians crossing multi lane roads who entering from a landscaped center island. I have repeatedly experienced this situation even though I am acutely aware of the view obstruction created by the large A-pillar, air bag and drivers side mirror. It has become evident from the incidents in my neighborhood that trucks and SUV's are involved in the fatalities at crosswalks and multi lane roadways. An recent fatality occurred on December 10 2022 in Poway at the intersection of Midland and Edgmoore Rd. 35yr old women killed in crosswalk by driver making left turn. The January 24th 2022 fatality happened on Community Rd. in Poway 92064. It would appear your forms are incident focused and not geared to identify safety hazards that have not been considered. Please contact me to discus this safety issue if you have seen an unexplained increase in pedestrian traffic fatalities that involve trucks and suv's. Thank You,

This complaint is with respect to the GM Infotainment System. While driving on the 405 freeway in Orange County, CA, the sound level of the infotainment system went to maximum. This being extremely painful, I tried to turn down the volume of the sound system. All controls were frozen and inoperative. I had to pull off the freeway and find a parking spot so I could turn off the engine for a short time to allow the electronics to reset. I had my wife and granddaughter with me. I have had this infotainment system freeze at other times such as using the navigation system, or the sound system. This could be a very dangerous condition while driving. I can imagine a driver being greatly distracted while attempting to deal with a problem such as this, or even a lesser problem. What is needed is a way to reset the electronics while driving. This could be a special button or pushing a pair of existing buttons. I consider this a very dangerous problem. I queried the dealership for a reset procedure but they had nothing to offer.

I was driving on the 405 freeway, passing through Orange,, County, CA. While adjusting the sound level of the radio, part of the Infotainment system, the volume jumped to maximum level. These automobiles have superior sound systems and the sound was at a painful level. Nothing that I could touch had any effect on the sound level. Also in the car was my wife and a young granddaughter who started crying. So I had to exit the freeway and find a parking place where I could stop the engine and allow the Infotainment system reset and I could then select a normal volume. This could have been the cause of an accident because all of my attention was turned to the electronics. Freezes and non operation of the other features of these electronics has also occurred which causes the driver to turn his attention to getting things working again. What is severely needed is a way to easily reset the electronics by the driver. This could be a simple button on the steering wheel or a combination of buttons that would safely reset the system back to normal while driving.

THE CAR WAS PARKED. WE GOT IN & SHUT THE DOORS. WHEN I TRIED TO START THE CAR, THE DOORS LOCKED AUTOMATICALLY. I COULD NOT OPEN THE DOORS OR ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS. IT WAS WELL OVER 100 DEGREES IN THE CAR. WE WERE TRAPPED IN THE CAR. WHILE ON THE PHONE WITH 911, I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO RELEASE THE DOOR LOCKS AND WE ESCAPED. THE DOORS AUTOMATICALLY LOCKED AND COULD NOT BE OPENED. EVIDENTLY THE BATTERY WAS DEAD AND THE SYSTEM SHUT DOWN. THERE WAS NO INDICATION THE BATTERY WAS LOW. HAVING DOORS AUTOMATICALLY LOCK AND BE DISABLED DUE TO A BATTERY IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD.

I READ SEVERAL BLOGS OF OTHER TAHOE'S IN THIS AGE GROUP OF 2015, 2016 THAT ARE HAVING THIS VERY FRUSTRATING ISSUE. MY NEIGHBORS' CHEVROLET TAHOE HAS REVERSE LIGHTS THAT STAY ON AFTER THE DOORS ARE LOCKED AND THE DRIVER IS WALKING AWAY FROM THE CAR. I HAVE SEEN YOUNG AND HIGH-SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN PLAYING BEHIND THE CAR WHILE THE REVERSE LIGHTS ARE LIT WHICH CAUSED ME TO SHOUT AND RUN. IF THE CHILDREN, OR ADULTS FOR THAT MATTER, CAN TAKE THOSE REVERSE LIGHTS FOR GRANTED THEN THERE'S A POTENTIAL THEY CAN BE KILLED BY ANOTHER CAR WERE THOSE LIGHTS ONLY LIGHT UP WHEN THEY'RE IN REVERSE. GM PRODUCTS NOW HAVE AN UNSAFE CONDITION WHEN UNLOCKING THE DOORS. THE VEHICLES TURN ON THE REVERSE LIGHTS WHEN THE DOORS ARE UNLOCKED, LEADING OTHER DRIVERS TO BELIEVE THAT THE CAR IS BACKING UP. Lifters in engine failed, bent rods, 3 of 8 cylinders scratched; engine need to be rebuilt. Engine failed at 47K miles. AC Condenser cracked at 47K miles. Engine failure is safety issue. Known issue at Chevrolet where already extended warranty from original manufacturer's warranty. Engine could have ceased while driving putting driver and passenger(s), if any, in immediate and imminent danger.

2016 Tahoe Fuel problems/ transmission jerking mostly going up an incline/hill. Warning ️ lights/ check engine light flashed only 3 or 4 times, I stopped the vehicle, about 5 minutes then I started back to drive . I took it to Edward Chevrolet in Bham Al , I told them I may have pumped some bad gas, because it was spudding & jerking especially when I when up an incline/ hill. But they told me that the gears going out in the transmission & I need a transmission. I took it to them because the truck was spudding when driving. So when I got my vehicle back now the truck making a winding noise, it’s changing out correctly but when I go up incline/ hill , it hesitates, spudding, jerking. I have two other vehicles, I haven’t drove the vehicle enough to have a transmission problem. I asked other people that have Tahoes, even mechanics, said they been having problems with the transmission in 2016 Tahoe & Chevrolet trucks that carry that particular transmission, having the same problems. I think it need to be a replacement of transmission or recall established on the 2016 Tahoes & pickups!!! Sign please help, I don’t have no 6,200 for no transmission & haven’t even driven my truck enough to have a transmission problem! I have 3 more payments on my 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe, I haven’t enjoyed my vehicle it only have 148,000 miles, and the transmission going out , and that’s not right. My 2016 Tahoe just shut off on me and my daughter inside of the tunnel with heavy traffic. When I placed the gear in drive the vehicle roll back instead of moving forward. I was afraid because the traffic was steady moving. The emergency wrecker pushed my Tahoe to safety out of the tunnel. I had it towed to my mechanic he said it’s the transmission . The engine light came on afterwards. The dealer refused the acknowledgment of the vehicle. I purchased as is. I purchase the vehicle 11-09-2022 it shut off 12-20-2022

TAHOE FEELS LIKE IT WANTS TO SHIFT GEARS WHEN IT'S NOT GOING ABOVE 25MPH. IT'S HAPPENED ON CITY STREETS. IT HAPPENS AS SOON AS THE TAHOE IS PUT INTO GEAR. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL OF THE TIME THOUGH. THE VEHICLE HAS ROUGHLY 90K MILES ON NOW. VEHICLE HAS BEEN SITTING AT CHEVY DEALER IN IMLAY CITY, MICHIGAN ALMOST TWO WEEKS AND THEY HAVE YET TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. I'VE USED THIS VEHICLE TO TOW MY BOAT. WHEN IN REVERSE AND BACKING BOAT INTO WATER AT BOAT RAMP I'VE APPLIED THE BRAKES AND IT SEEMS TO TAKE A SECOND OR TWO FOR THE BRAKES TO REACT MAKING IT FEEL LIKE THE VEHICLE IS STILL MOVING IN REVERSE. The stabilitrak notification comes on constantly. While we are driving/reversing and turn our steering wheel the whole car will shut down and the steering wheel jerks. It's happened multiple times. It takes forever for the car to turn back on.This is super dangerous and cause myself and my children to end up getting hit by another vehicle while on the road.

Driving down the freeway at 75 mph and the headlight started flickering any time I would use my blinker. 5 minutes later the car automatically breaks hard all by itself along with the dash lights going off and the doors locking and unlocking. 3 days later driving in town taking a hard left suddenly I get alerts on the dashboard saying, "parking assist off" and "stabilitrak" then suddenly my steering wheel JERKS VIOLENTLY all the way to the right. This happened 2x when I am driving!!! It is available for inspection upon request. If this steering wheel malfunction happens to someone driving down an interstate someone could die. It just happened yesterday so I have not gotten it in to be looked at yet. There was zero warning it all happens suddenly and out of nowhere.

Turning is extremely difficult cause it feels like all this are breaking. Then once I stop the car it kicks forward after the car is off

The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while the wipers were in operation, the wipers were seized without warning. The contact pulled over to the side of the road during the failure and waited for approximately 5 minutes before the wipers started to operate as intended. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure or diagnose the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 44,000.

I HAVE A 2016 TAHOE THAT I PURCHASED NEW FROM DEALER. I HAD ALSO PURCHASED A PROTECTION PLAN WITH FINISHING TOUCH THAT THEY TALKED US INTO WHEN WE BOUGHT THE CAR ON THE PAINT AND INTERIOR. 3.5 YEARS INTO OWNERSHIP THE PAINT ON THE HOOD AND ROOF FADED. WE CONTACTED THE PROTECTION PLAN AND THEY WERE MORE THAN WILLING TO TAKE CARE OF. THEY SENT AN ADJUSTER OUT AND HE CLASSIFIED AS CLEAR COAT FAILURE. THEN THE RUN AROUND STARTED. I CONTACTED CHEVROLET AND I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND TALKED WITH THE ASSISTANT MANAGER IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. HE BROUGHT OUT THE MANAGER AND HE CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS PAINT FAILURE. SO THEN THE DEALERSHIP GETS INVOLVED WITH CHEVROLET. THE FIRST CALL COMES BACK AND SAYS THEY WILL COVER 20%. I TOLD THEM THAT SOME ONE WAS GOING TO COVER THE REPAIRS AND IT WON'T BE ME. THEY SOLD ME A PROTECTION PLAN THROUGH FINISHING TOUCH FOR THE PAINT AND THE INTERIOR SO SOMEONE NEEDS TO COVER THE DAMAGE. AFTER A FEW DAYS I GET A CALL STATING THAT BETWEEN THE DEALERSHIP, CHEVROLET AND FINISHING TOUCH IT WOULD BE REPAIRED AT NO COST. NOW IT GETS BETTER. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE HOOD AND THE ROOF REPAINTED. AFTER A WEEK AT THE BODY SHOP THE CAR IS READY TO BE PICKED UP. WE WALK UP TO THE CAR AND IT IS ALL SHINY AND LOOKING GOOD. BUT THE COLOR DOESN'T MATCH. WE CALL THE SERVICE MANAGER OUT AND HE SAYS HE CAN'T SEE THE ISSUE. THE TAHOE IS A BROWNSTONE METALLIC AND THE HOOD IS MORE BRONZE THAN THE REST OF THE VEHICLE. HE TELLS ME HE CAN GET THE PAINT MANAGER TO COME SPEAK TO ME BECAUSE HE CAN'T SEE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A OVERCAST DAY SO IT DOESN'T SHOW REALLY BRIGHT BUT MY HUSBAND AND I CAN SEE THE DIFFERENCE. WHILE WE ARE WAITING FOR THE MANAGER FROM THE BODY SHOP TO ARRIVE WE WALK AROUND THE VEHICLE. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS I HAVE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE FIRST TIME I WAS TURNING AND THOUGHT MAYBE I HIT A SLICK SPOT ON THE ROAD BUT THE SAME THING DID NOT HAPPEN TO OTHER CARS. THE SECOND TIME I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT ON A SECONDARY ROAD AND OUT OF NOWHERE THE CAR STARTED SLIDING LIKE IT WAS ON ICE BUT THE BRAKES AND STEERING WERE NON FUNCTIONAL. I COULD TURN THE WHEEL AND PRESS THE BRAKES BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. THERE WAS NO INDICATION THAT THERE WERE ANY ISSUES WITH THE CAR, NO ALARMS OR MESSAGES CAME UP BEFORE, DURING, OR AFTER THE INCIDENTS. I WAS VERY LUCKY IN BOTH INSTANCES IN THAT THERE WERE NO ONCOMING CARS. THIS HAS BEEN EXTREMELY TERRIFYING AND I REFUSE TO DRIVE THE CAR ANYMORE. TOOK A CAB HOME AND AND HAD TRUCK TOWED TO SPORT CHEVROLET FOR SERVICE. BRAKES REQUIRED REPLACEMENT OF THE VACUUM PUMP UNDER WARRANTY. THE STEERING RACK HAD TO BE REPLACED FOR $2880 NOT UNDER WARRANTY. ISSUE IS SUDDEN TOTAL STEERING RACK FAILURE WITH NO GRACEFUL DEGRADATION. IF IT HAD HAPPEN AT HIGHWAY SPEED I WOULDN'T BE HERE TO REPORT THE FAILURE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO COURTESY CHEVROLET (1233 E CAMELBACK RD, PHOENIX, AZ 85014, (602) 457-3232) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT HIGH TEMPERATURE WEATHER CAUSED THE ENGINE TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 21,000.

WHILE DRIVING IN THE SUMMER, MY WIFE INFORMED ME THAT THE VEHICLE HAD STALLED AND ALMOST DIED--SHORTLY AFTER, THE AC WAS NOT WORKING. I LEFT WORK AND CAME TO HER--FOUND THAT THE COMPRESSOR BELT HAD SHREDDED OFF. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DEALER AND THEY REPLACED COMPRESSOR. A MONTH LATER, MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HOME ON THE INTERSTATE AND THE VEHICLE STARTED STALLING AND JERKING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED BLINKING AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ALSO ILLUMINATED. I TRAILERED THE VEHICLE TO OUR HOME A FEW MILES AWAY. I DID NOTICE THE LONG BOLT HOLDING THE NEW COMPRESSOR WAS LOOSE (1/4" SPACE BETWEEN BOLT HEAD AND WASHER). THE BOLT WAS TIGHTENED, BUT DID NOT APPEAR TO BE A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR. WHEN IDLING, THE ENGINE JERKS SO HARD THAT THE ENTIRE CAR SHAKES-THE ENGINE NEARLY DIES.. FOR SOME TIME, THE VEHICLE HAS PRODUCED AN UNUSUAL PURRING/CLICKING NOISE WHILE NAVIGATING THRU A PARKING LOT OR SOMETHING AT SLOW SPEEDS--SOUNDS LIKE IN THE TRANSMISSION OR TORQUE CONVERTER? Summary: The straps on this car seat came loose with a firm pull with my baby already buckled in. Description: On Saturday April 5th, we place our baby in the Britax One4Life ClickTight All-In-One Car Seat. My husband had our baby fully buckled in with the straps tightened when for some reason (thank goodness he did), he gave the straps a pretty firm pull (not holding the strap release lever down) and they loosened up. We were very shocked that this could happen. I also tested it as well and had the same result. This concerning because with a forceful pull on the car seat straps, they came loose. If we had been in some sort of collision and were unaware of this issue, the force of an accident certainly would have loosened the straps which could have had a lethal outcome ever for a minor collision. Because we weren't sure why this was happening with this car seat. We ordered a new car seat from a different manufacturer due to this safety concern. On Monday April 7th I called Britax twice to see if I could get an answer as to why this may be happening. I could not get a live person so I left a voicemail. I also scheduled an appointment for a video call on Wednesday the 9th in an attempt to contact someone. I was able to speak with someone on Wednesday the 9th. The person I spoke with asked me to check if there was any debris under the button to release the strap. with her on the call, I shook the car seat upside down, and vacuumed under the release button. Once that was done, the straps did function again as expected, not loosening with a firm pull. The representative did mention that she had seen this issue before with something even as minor as sand getting stuck under the button. If you have kids, you know how impossible it is to keep car seats completely clean. The seats get dirty from kids being at parks, daycare, in their own back yard, eating snacks, etc.. I believe this is a design flaw of this car seat and it needs to be investigated for safety.

The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50-55 MPH, the vehicle started to shudder. The contact stated that the odometer was moving erratically. The contact stated that the engine overheated quickly. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was stranded on the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the torque converter was faulty and there were metal shavings inside the engine. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. While driving at 35-45 MPH, the vehicle was shuddering and overheated. The vehicle was towed back to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 112,000.

When driving the dash panel all arrows go to zero, disconnects cruise and just about everything else on your list above. We have had it to the dealer many times over three months and I am concerned that when the system drops out my safety devices that it says check will not work if I’m in a collision.The list is to long to list. Our local Chevrolet dealer is George Nahas in the Villages Florida. Please help

I bought my Tahoe from Dan Vaden Chevrolet in Savannah, GA with approx 58k miles. At around 88k miles I noticed the transmission hesitated when putting into reverse or drive from the park position. I had my transmission fluid changed at 70k and 100k miles. Now, at 112k miles, it has significantly gotten worse with shuddering between gears 1-3 and jerking when in reverse. Major hesitation when accelerating at any speed and high pitched whining noises that randomly happen, even after putting it in park and turning it off. Also, my ABS and Stabilitrak lights will illuminate and then go off every few days. As well as another random icon that randomly comes and goes. This Tahoe is now unsafe to drive but it’s the only transportation I have. I already missed a radiator replacement recall by 1,500 miles and had to pay for that out of pocket. Now Chevrolet isn’t recalling this transmission when it has over 190 complaints on this website alone, and thousands of others on other online forums. What will it take for the manufacturer to do the right thing? Will someone have to die in order for this to become an issue they stop ignoring? We have all spent money we worked hard to earn and deserve a vehicle that’s safe for our families.

The brake vacuum pump is bad. It was hooked up to solious and that's the codes it's throwing. Out of no where while driving on the highway my brake pedal became very stiff and difficult to push down. I could barely stop in time off the exit. Now when the truck is in Drive it doesn't even move. When you do go u have to put all your might into pressing the brake down to stop. Even then the pedal won't go down. Very dangerous especially since I had my [XXX] daughter with me. Very scary situation. I looked up recall for VIN but I have 0. Which is weird because there's a recall on 2016 chevy tahoes for this exact symptoms and part. Now I did go to [XXX] and found a recall under my Vin and also a warranty for this part under my Vin. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the stabili-trak, ABS and traction control warning lights remained illuminated, and the vehicle would not immediately stop while depressing the brake pedal. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the ABS module and ABS pump were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 150,000.

I have a 2016 Chevy Tahoe LTZ. It has the air ride suspension. I need all new shocks and struts and a new air ride air suspension pump. Reported this issue when the vehicle had 60-66k miles on it. I was never told what was wrong until about 2 weeks ago. The grand total of replacing these issues is over 6k. I called Chevy/GMC theres nothing they will do as it’s out of any warranty even though the problem has been reported/documented way before it hit 84k. Jim Shorkey Chevy is a joke and Boby Rahal has no clue what warranty they’re selling people. This makes for a very loud, very rough ride that’s hard to control going any speed. There was also a valve that would squeak when it went from the V4 to the V8. In order to fix that i needed a whole new exhaust and muffler. Chevy would not cover any of this even though there is warranty for emissions through Chevy I can’t remember the year but i know the miles were 90k. I don’t have that on the car and for whatever reason an exhaust and muffler are not considered emissions even though if there was a hole or malfunction with them I wouldn’t pass the emissions here in PA. Make that make sense. All of these problem were reported within the year of buying this car back in 2020. I didn’t get a diagnosis for these problems until 2023 and 30k miles later. I did and still do have issues with the brake even though the vacuum pump was replaced back when I bought it. My antenna also leaked and I had to pay for that out of pocket. I’d love to stay with a gmc/Chevy but if I’m going to constantly have to pour money into it I’ll never go back.

Fuel started leaking from top side of fuel tank. Seems to only leak while vehicle is running. My wife and family where all in the tahoe when this occurred. Also tahoe would shut down while driving just out of nowhere. Total loss off power and control. After a couple minutes it would start right back up. My family and kids were also in the car when this has happened.

I was driving down highway and saw a wall of cars and brake lights in the distance, so naturally my foot tried to push the brakes. The pedal was hard, and I panicked because my tahoe was not stopping at all! I continued to stomp on brake pedal all the way until my car actually hit 3 vehicles and then the guardrail! My brakes did not work , because if they did then I would have easily prevented this accident!!

My car was acting like it didn’t want to go. I felt the car trying to change gears but it was unable to. Almost caused an accident and I had my two children in the car. No check engine light came on until 2 days later after it began causing problems. I have researched this issue and it is a recurrent problem with Chevrolet Tahoes 2016. My husband had the same problem with his 2016 GMC sierra and had to have his transmission replaced at 118,000 miles. Seems like a recurrent problem with GMCs and CHEVROLET vehicles. It’s very dangerous.

GM has a known problem with the sensors for the side detection system that are placed outside in the rear of the vehicle. Tires splash water and salt directly on the sensors causing them to short out. This short not only causes the side detection to misreport whether a vehicle is in your blind spot, it also manifests itself with lift gate malfunctions and various other messages displayed on the DIC like Service Park Assist System or Service Trailer Brake. My Tahoe has had all these issues. To date GM has not recalled my Tahoe or any other GM vehicle with this problem. The dealership quoted me $1,700 for the fix and are having trouble sourcing the new sensors since apparently I am not the only one affected. Howabout your agency looking into this and suggesting to GM to man up on this and cover the repair through a recall and a reimbursement for those who paid out of pocket.

Hello, I purchased my truck last year in December and I told them the problems I was having with the truck when I got. They act like they fixed it but it’s still doing the same thing. I’ve put struts on it and control arms 3 times and it still is giving me problems. My suspension and driver assist warnings always pop up. When I get up to 85 mph, they truck shakes really bad and the speed won’t go over 85 mph. When I got brakes, the trucks pulls to the left and right which I know that could mean a line up but even after I line it up, it still does the same thing. I feel like it’s a defect with the suspension and driver assist systems with those model trucks. I love my truck and really don’t want to get rid of it. I’ve taken my truck to my dealership several times and I don’t want my warranty to run out before I can get my truck fixed. Can you help at all???

Hello to whom it may concern, I purchased a certified pre-owned 2016 Chevy Tahoe in November of 2019 from a Woodland Ca dealership. Over the last six years, I have put only 31k miles on the truck. In 2022 I have put in a new transmission at 120K and now not even a year later I’m getting a warning message popping up on the dashboard service Trailer brake system. I have NOT towed anything in the last two years since my move. However, on January 4th of this year 2023 when the warning started, I thought it was just that I accidentally hit the trailer switch. I hit the switch again and the warning went away. However, the warning is increasing in the number of times it’s coming on. I took it to a mechanic and discovered they said that a wire needed to be replaced. When I went to YouTube, I noticed that there were several videos on the same issue. This unexcitable that a company as big as GMC wouldn’t take care of the part that results in the warning. My vehicle is not safe to drive in that condition. The contact also indicated that the transmission was faulty. After taking the vehicle to the dealer no trouble code was found. No further information was available. The failure mileage was 26,000.

SO MUCH BOUNCE AND JARRING THAT THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE ON ANY ROUGH ROAD. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THE MAGNETIC RIDE CONTROL SHOCKS AND STRUTS FAILED AND ARE FULLY EXTENDED. COST TO REPAIR OVER $3,000 FOR 4 SHOCKS/STRUTS. 2. MY FUEL INJECTION IS HORRIBLE AND HAS CAUSED ME TO LOSE MPG ON MY MILEAGE. WHILE TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND ON A FOUR LANE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 65-70MPH (POSTED SPEED LIMIT OF 65) MY 2016 CHEVROLET TAHOE SEEMED TO HAVE NO STEERING, SIMILAR TO HOW A STEERING WHEEL FEELS WHEN VEHICLE IS OFF, AS THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING OVER A KNOLL WITH A SLIGHT CURVE TO THE LEFT. THE ACCELERATOR WAS PRESSED TO CHECK TO SEE IF VEHICLE WAS IN FACT STILL RUNNING, WHICH IT WAS, BUT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT MOVE. THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED AT WHICH TIME THE TAHOE DARTED LEFT INTO THE OTHER LANE WHERE ANOTHER VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING, CAUSING THAT VEHICLE TO HIT THE TAHOE IN THE DRIVERS SIDE BACK DOOR. THE TAHOE THEN CONTINUED BROADSIDE UNTIL IT BROKE FREE OF IMPACT WITH THE OTHER VEHICLE, AND TURNED BACKWARD INTO THE MEDIAN. THE TAHOE TRAVELLED BACKWARDS THRU THE MEDIAN FOR APPROXIMATELY 80FT AT WHICH TIME THE ACCELERATOR WAS PRESSED TO THE FLOOR IN AN ATTEMPT TO KEEP THE TAHOE OUT OF NORTHBOUND TRAFFIC. THE TAHOE CAME OUT OF THE MEDIAN BROADSIDE, BACK INTO THE LEFT LANE & STOPPED. THE STEERING WHEEL NEVER MOVED DURING THIS ACCIDENT. THE STATE TROOPER SUGGESTED THAT THE FRONT WHEELS WERE LOCKED THE ENTIRE TIME BASED ON THE BLACK MARKS IN THE ROAD. ALSO, EVEN WITH A DIRECT SIDE IMPACT BY THE OTHER VEHICLE, THE SIDE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.

I'VE ALMOST HIT SEVERAL CARS IN A PARKING LOT AT DIFFERENT TIMES BECAUSE THE BRAKE WANT STOP. I'VE EVEN ALMOST HIT MY HUSBANDS NEW TRUCK IN OUR DRIVEWAY. TOOK IT TO MECHANIC, PUT ON MACHINE AND NOW SAID IT'S A VAC. PUMP ISSUE. I'VE HAD MANY TAHOE AND THIS ONE IS MAKING ME WANT TO GET AWAY FROM CHEVY.

IN ADDITION, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE THAT HAD PROGRESSED WITHIN MONTHS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. THE DEALER (CHEVROLET OF WESLEY CHAPEL, 26922 WESLEY CHAPEL BLVD, WESLEY CHAPEL, FL 33544, (813) 435-3981) PROVIDED A ROAD TEST, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURES. IN ADDITION, THE BACK UP CAMERA DISPLAYED "SERVICE THE REAR BACK UP CAMERA", BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT PROVIDE A REMEDY. THE DEALER SERVICED THE VEHICLE, BUT HAD NOT DOCUMENTED ANY INVOICE TO SPECIFY THE DIAGNOSIS OF BOTH FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS WAITING FOR A PERMANENT REMEDY TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000.

THURSDAY, APRIL 12, 2018. HEADING TO WORK ONE MORNING ON THE INTERSTATE, THE GIRL IN FRONT OF ME PUT ON BREAKS (WE WERE IN THE FAST LANE), SO I PUT ON MY BREAKS. I LOOKED IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR AND SAW THE DRIVER BEHIND ME NOT PAYING ATTENTION AND GOING 50-55 MPH. I HAD ENOUGH TIME TO BRACE MYSELF BEFORE HE HIT ME FROM BEHIND WHICH MADE ME HIT THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME (I HAVE VIDEO AND PICTURES). FORTUNATELY, MY TAHOE HELD UP PRETTY GOOD AND DIDN'T CRUMBLE WITH THE TYPE OF IMPACT IT HAD. MY CONCERN IS MY AIRBAGS DID DEPLOY BUT ACTUALLY DIDN'T. THE SMOKE CAME OUT FROM THE AIRBAGS THROUGH THE DASH AND MY AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT CAME ON MY ALERTS ON THE DASH. IF I WOULDN'T HAVE PREPARED AND BRACED MYSELF THEN MY FACE WOULD HAVE GONE IN THE STEERING WHEEL. I DIDN'T SEE A RECALL BUT IS THERE A REASON THEY DIDN'T COME OUT? ALSO, I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE AWAY FROM THE SCENE TO TAKE THE TAHOE TO BODY SHOP BUT THE SEAT BELT WAS LOCKED IN IT'S PLACE AND COULD NOT REBUCKLE (I WAS BUCKLED DURING THE CRASH)

THE ORIGINAL TIRES FAILED A ROAD BALANCE TEST AND WERE REPLACED. THIS DID NOT HELP THE ISSUE.
