Purchased new vehicle in September 2024, immediately after purchasing the vehicle the engine had a clanking noise. Took the car back to the dealership where they explained the noise was normal. The car continue to make clanking noise, but noise continued to get louder, took the vehicle back to the dealership for first oil change, verify the noise, and discuss safety recall received on the vehicle. Dealer told me the car was ok to drive. In October 2025, the vehicle loss power during acceleration with immediate re-start. After this incident, took the vehicle to another dealer where they inspected the vehicle again. The test failed and the car now needs a new engine. Car has now 10K miles in the odometer and has been sitting in the dealership for 3 weeks now waiting for an engine replacement.

Driving at highway speeds 70mph, the engine stopped running and vehicle lost all power during heavy rush hour traffic. I was in the middle lane and lost all power breaks and steering, the engine wouldn't restart and I had to force my way to the side of the road. The vehicle only has 21,709 miles and was purchased new less than a year ago. All scheduled maintenance has been performed. The engine is seized and will not restart. There were no warning signs.

When driving on the highway at 75 mph, my vehicle alerted me to add oil. We immediately pulled off the side of the road checked the oil. There was not even a drop on the dip stick. Had to add 3 quarts of oil to even register on the very tip of the dip stick. Please note we were within 100 miles of being due for an oil change. The vehicle is currently at a Chevy dealership to start the process of inspection and do an oil consumption test. This vehicle is my main transportation to take my children to and from school and activities. We live in Larkspur, our children go to school in Monument and we have sports in Castle Rock, so we drive quite a bit. I’m not sure that I’m comfortable with a small fix and using a different type of oil to see if my engine will be salvageable. My questions: Can you confidently let me leave your dealership and guarantee that my family will be safe and know that my engine will not fail due to the recall issues? If my car engine needs to be rebuilt or replaced do you have a comparable loner car until then? If my car engine needs to be rebuilt or replaced can you confidently say this is not going to affect my resale or trade in value? Do you have a recall trade in credit for a 2025 vehicle? I spent $85k on what I thought was a reliable vehicle for me to drive my 2 children around in. My biggest concern is that my engine stops running while I’m on the highway at a fast speed with or without my family. If my husband wasn’t in my car when the oil notification came on, we probably would have lost our engine. How is GM going to make this right and guarantee safety for my family? How is GM going to help with our frustration, anxiety and loss of time dealing with this mistake of selling vehicles with a defective engine? When will I have these answers?

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 MPH, there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle stalled, and the message to "Press the Start Button” was displayed. The contact was able to restart and drive the vehicle. The contact stated that the following day, while driving and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated before accelerating, with a rattling and tapping sound coming from the vehicle. The contact continued driving; however, the vehicle stalled with the message to “Press Start Button” displayed. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle however, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, but was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that prior to the failure the contact experienced failures with the vehicle related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact had taken the vehicle to the same dealer approximately 3 months prior for the recall inspection. The dealer stated that the engine had passed the inspection, and an oil change to a higher viscosity oil was performed. The contact then noticed the abnormal engine ticking sound and became aware that the engine was not responsive while depressing the accelerator pedal following the inspection. Additionally, the engine was idling roughly. The dealer was contacted, but informed the contact that the engine had passed the inspection. The contact stated that the recall had been removed from the VIN and was listed as completed; however, the vehicle experienced engine failure and was currently at the dealer. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.

I was driving down the highway last Friday. I went to slow down to get into another lane and My Tahoe started saying “break failure” and I had no breaks to stop my Tahoe. I pressed the break as far down as I could and had no way to stop. I took my foot off the gas and I drove 10 mph to the dealership 1 mile from my location and coasted to a stop. The dealership called today and said they were needing to replace the entire break module and system. I am so scared to drive my car now. I had my children in the car and I thought we were literally going to wreck.

Brakes system failure message on highway and couldn’t use brakes without standing on them. Once came to a stop in breakdown lane tow driver took us to closest Chevrolet dealer where we were told our vehicle was unsafe to drive and was basically a toboggan. If we weren’t in slow moving traffic we would’ve been in a serious accident. Dealer confirmed by running computer on car that the brake system motor stopped working and lost communication with power steering, transmission, central gateway, brake system control, and engine control. Waiting to see if this is a software issue or if brake motor needs to be replaced. Either way feels very unsafe to drive.

vehicle has been doing this since February 2024 but dealer would state the recall would fix the issue. February 18 2025 vehicle claimed to have a dead battery. Took to dealer once it was jumped they kept till February 28,2025 when I picked up vehicle less than 5 mile down the road vehicle shut off and luckily I was at a red light and the vehicle behind was not following close. The vehicle had just left dealership. Once i was able to get the vehicle back on it stated I needed to service the transmission. Took vehicle back to dealership and then they kept it to check. March 4,2025 I was told to pick up vehicle I did and it seemed well drove 6 miles to destination. Parked it and went inside came back out an hour later and vehicle was dead again. Had to call tow truck to pick me up and they left vehicle at dealer and it has been there since and they are stating it is in line.

Key fob does not work even when inside vehicle or either cup holders. I was able to use auto start a few times but having both keys inside or using one or the other spare or primary causes the no key fob message. The only thing that has worked has been to open hood, disconnect primary battery terminal and wait ten minutes. Afterwards, everything seems to be working. I refuse to believe that a brand new vehicle has to be operated in such a manner. I’m a nurse who works 15 hours a day and all I wanted was to go home to my family but now I’m stuck at work waiting for my husband to come disconnect my tahoes battery for ten mins before it hopefully works again.

I was approaching an intersection to make a left turn from a two-way highway with a posted speed limit of 65mph. Another vehicle had approached the same intersection in the other direction and stopped to make a left turn, so both vehicles were making left turns in opposite directions, but the vehicle opposite my vehicle had to stop because I was approaching and signaling to turn and another vehicle, towing a trailer, was following behind my vehicle. As I approached the intersection, I began to turn the wheel and my vehicle shutdown and stopped in the lane, causing the vehicle behind me to take evasive action to avoid colliding into the rear of my vehicle. I received an alert on my dashboard to start the engine, which I did, but it didn't accelerate. I received another alert on the dash to start the engine and to place it in drive. After performing the actions, the vehicle felt as though it had lost power and I slowly drifted off the side of the road where I shut the vehicle off and restarted it again without further issues. The issue has not been reproduced and the dealership I purchased the vehicle from could not confirm any known issues. The vehicle has not been inspected due to the dealership not having any insight into any known issues that may have caused the incident. No other warning lights were displayed prior to the incident.

BRAKES JUST GAVE OUT ALMOST HIT THE CAR INFRONT AND SWURVED TO AVOID IT THE CAR ALMOST HIS THE WALL AND ANOTHER CAR WHILE TRYING TO CORRECT MY TRUCK IN A PROPER LANE. Brake pedal went straight down to the bottom and let the truck coast to a stop. SCARED TO DEATH THANK NGOD I DIDN'T HIT OR CRASH !!!!

My car lost its brakes on [XXX] last December, putting my life and my husband's life in the vehicle at great risk, at that time the vehicle was only 9 months old, after the event the car was taken to the Chevrolet Bay Dealer in Estero, FL, where I bought it with zero miles just a few months ago, it was taken to the dealer to solve the brake problem and the service that corresponded to it, oil change and maintenance by miles, the brake problem was reflected in the Chevrolet application, the dealer offered a supposed repair to the car (December 12, 2024, to December 14, 2024) I have documents that prove that the dealer assured us that the problem had been resolved, that the supposed service was given, but last Thursday, [XXX], just one month after the first accident, the car lost its brakes again on [XXX] at the exit [XXX], causing me to have to drive without brakes, run red lights due to the impossibility of stopping the vehicle, putting my life at risk for the second time. My wife drove the 2024 Tahoe with 13,464 miles to Florida for a beach trip with the kids. The car stopped working while she was driving. The vehicle flashed and the automatic transmission wasn’t changing gears. She manually shifted the gears until arriving at a safe place. The dealer states it is the transmission valve body that needs replaced. The part is on back order and from what the dealer said being built as needed.

Brand new 2024 Z71 Tahoe at 11,000 miles had transmission failure due to the transmission valve body failing. No previous issues, has never driven long distance, has never towed anything. While in school drop off line was alerted and given an error message on screen stating “reduced acceleration, drive with caution” placing the vehicle in limp mode and check engine light came on.

While driving at approximately 25-30 MPH the steering system locked up for a 2-3 second period not allowing the driver to maintain the desired direction of vehicle movement. The first incident occurred while navigating a turn in the road, the second occurred while turning left at an intersection. The vehicle has since been parked waiting on the dealership to get the vehicle in for diagnostic check to see if the problem can be determined. The occurrences were approximately 1 week apart. The risk is losing control of the vehicle for a short period of time, putting occupants of said vehicle at risk of being in an accident and potentially injured as well as putting other drivers on the road at risk. Vehicle is scheduled to go to dealership on May 7, however dealership is unable to provide a time frame of when they will be able to examine the vehicle. There were no warning indicators on the dashboard prior to the incident occurring nor were there any after the incident occurred.

Fuel System Control Module went out abruptly and without warning resulting in the vehicle and occupant being stranded on highway. This was a brand new vehicle with only 320 miles on the odometer, and happened after only 6 days of ownership. The dangerous nature of above situation is self evident. Unexpected loss of power while in traffic is dangerous. Dealership replaced the module and confirmed it was the cause of the breakdown. See attached document for complaint. We are writing to express our concerns regarding ongoing and unresolved issues with our 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe High Country Deluxe Package, which we purchased on [XXX] from Titus-Will Chevrolet in Olympia, Washington. Our vehicle was ordered on [XXX] and delivered with 12 miles on the odometer [XXX]. The total purchase price was $97,889.61. This vehicle is equipped with a 6.2-liter Ecotec VB engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission. Since shortly after purchase, we have experienced intermittent audio output problems. With these problems, there is no audio for the radio, phone calls or mapping directions from any of the apps. Incoming phone calls do not connect and outgoing calls cannot be made. Despite multiple service visits-[XXX] as well as documented audio output issues my wife recorded and dated due to the fact that the dealership is 50 miles away: [XXX] We have also driven our vehicle into the Titus Will dealership service department twice when the audio output was not working so the service techs were able to see exactly what was not working-the issues are still unresolved even after updates from the service department and over the air updates that were to "FIX" the issues per GMC/Chevrolet. Our dealership has been unable to identify or correct the defect. Additionally, we received a Safety Recall Notice (N252494000) on May 20, 2025, concerning a potential loss of propulsion in the 6.2-liter engine, which may lead to catastrophic engine failure and increased risk of a crash or harm. We were surprised to learn that this recall was issued on April 24, 2025-prior to our purchase date-yet was not disclosed by the dealer at the time of sale, which also appears to be deceitful on GMC's part. We would not have accepted the vehicle knowing there were catastrophic engine problems as we travel the highways often visiting family in Idaho and Spokane as well as taking care of our elderly parents this last year with their medical care transports. When we contacted Titus-Will Chevrolet about the recall, they informed us that they could not inspect my engine until further instruction was received from GM Corporate. We also requested to trade in our vehicle for a comparable model equipped with a smaller, unaffected engine (5.3L), but was told by both Titus-Will Chevrolet and Whitney Chevrolet in Montesano, Washington, that GM Corporate had instructed dealers not to buy back or trade these affected vehicles at this time. As a result, we are now left with a new vehicle that: - Has persistent, unresolved defects in the audio system; - Is subject to an active safety recall with potential for serious catastrophic failure including crashes; and - Have suffered a significant diminished value of our new vehicle due to these unresolved issues and restrictions on resale or trade-in. Given these circumstances, we respectfully request that Chevrolet replace our 2024 Tahoe with a new, comparable model equipped with a 5.3-liter engine (or another engine not subject to the recall) and the extended warranty we had purchased with the current Tahoe we own. We have been a loyal Chevrolet customer, having bought six new Chevy Tahoe's over the years as well as Chevy Pickups, and have always been satisfied- until this vehicle. We hope this matter can be resolved promptly and fairly. Please contact me at your earliest convenience to discuss the next steps, but we expect a written response no more than 40 days of receiving this letter. On October 23 I was driving my vehicle and the airbag light and a message service safety restraint appeared. On October 24 I was in route to take the vehicle to the dealership and as I was merging going to the highway the vehicle turned off, lost complete power threw itself into neutral. I had to drive it over to the shoulder to keep from getting hit. I was able to get the vehicle to turn back on and got it to the dealership. This would be the third time that the vehicle has lost power and completely turned off while driving the first time I took it to the dealership. They said they couldn’t find anything wrong. The second time this happened. I took it to the dealership. They said they replaced the gateway module this third time I took it to the dealership they have called me and said they need to replace the OnStar telecommunication module. The vehicle is unsafe. It is a brand new 2024 Tahoe I purchased it new. The vehicle should not be turning off while I’m driving The same messages consistently pop up the airbag in the service safety restraint. They replaced some kind of console at the top and say that that would fix the issue, but it didn’t because the message came back on again the vehicle idols as if it’s gonna turn off whenever I go to stop the vehicle The transmission stutters are like it’s going into a downshift and it acts like he wants to turn off, but it doesn’t it’s only turned off when I’m driving and then it will just shut off.

Low Oil Life notification on phone. Since L87 recall, an oil consumption test was stopped and the new type of oil has been added to the vehicle 5k miles ago. Had to add a full quart to register on dip stick. Will now start another oil consumption test with a dealership. I am very concerned about my families safety.

Entertainment System/Radio -- not working. No audio. No audio noise even when the blinker is engaged. After several visits to the internet/YouTube I understand this has been a common problem with GM models. Some are able to restart under 'safety mode'. My case ... radio comes on when it wants to and then cuts off. My vehicle is 15 months old .. 38,000 miles.

Unknown but there was many lights on at the time of brake failure. I was driving home from Florida to NJ with my four young children in the vehicle on a 65mph highway when all these lights came on, the brakes completely stopped working and it told me it was reducing speed to 62mph for safety because the brakes were failed. It also stated service svc. By the grace of god I was able to off-road it a bit to get it to slow down to a stop. The second time it happened was in my driveway parked. Inbetween the two incidents I brought my vehicle for regular service and asked them to look at the brakes again for me as this is a major safety concern as well as my transmission slipping and they complete refused and only changed my oil.

The contact stated that while her husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stopped at a traffic light, and the engine unexpectedly shut off while the brake pedal was depressed. The transmission inadvertently shifted to neutral(N). The message to "Push Start to Start Engine" was displayed. The contact's husband pressed the Auto Start/Stop button, but the engine failed to start. The contact's husband then shifted the transmission to park (P), pressed the Auto Start/Stop button again, and the engine restarted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. My family and I were returning from vacation from Florida to our home state, North Carolina, when our new Tahoe with 5700 miles started to act strangely. We hit bad traffic leaving Florida so there was plenty of stop and go type maneuvers. At one point, the vehicle turned itself off and put itself in neutral while we were thankfully going a slower speed due to traffic. I was able to get off the shoulder near the [XXX] and restart the car. It ran fine after restart until it started making a clanging type noise from the engine bay. We stopped again and checked temperatures and fluids and the clanging stopped. About 30 minutes later the clanging and a guttural noise began to occur from the engine bay and the transmission would not shift, keeping the vehicle at/around 4,000 RPM at 60mph. We were able to get the vehicle to a nearby rest stop. My wife, 3 children, and I were put in harm’s way due to GM’s faulty product and poor quality control. To have your vehicle shut itself off and/or not shift, especially on the interstate, is incredibly dangerous to the occupants of the vehicle as well as the motoring public. It is important to note that the vehicle never displayed any warning lights of any kind before, during, or after the incidents described. Almost two weeks later, Chevrolet (Cooper Chevrolet S.C.) has not even diagnosed the vehicle. They have told be that they will more than likely have to tear the motor apart to figure out the issue(s), confirming that the problem has been replicated by their technicians. The Tahoe is equipped with a 6.2l V8, a motor with well documented issues. The Tahoe is currently located at Cooper Chevrolet in Walterboro North Carolina. On one morning w/20 something temperature, Tahoe started and immediately shut down. When restarted, multiple malfunction lights were lit: engine, ABS/brake, steering column, traction control, etc. Reached Onstar for advice to see if Tahoe was drive-able, but only got confirmation of system malfunctions and offered roadside assistance but declined since at home and would call back if needed. About an hour later and several restarts, all malfunction lights finally cleared except engine light, which stayed on for another day or so. Tahoe drove okay during engine light on.

I was in a rollover crash on 3/9/25. I hit the guardrail head on, then completely rolled the vehicle multiple times. The driver/steering wheel airbag did NOT deploy. Curtain airbags, and the airbag from the seat deployed but the steering wheel did NOT. My head hit the steering wheel as a result with injuries to my face. The airbag malfunction was confirmed by a mechanic.

Audible warnings for turn signals, Blind Spot monitoring and lane monitoring periodically quits along with all sound from radio and Bluetooth system. Haptic feedback on lane change seems to not function at this time as well. Warning lights function. This has occurred 7 times since Oct 22 2024 when the vehicle was purchased. MFG has been unable to repair.

After start up, there is no audio coming from the vehicle. No audio from entertainment system, no audio from turn signal and no audio from fasten seat belt "chime". Restarting vehicle does not change the outcomes, initially. Exiting the vehicle and restarting about 10 minutes later, all audio returns, including entertainment sytem, audible turn signal indicator and fasten seat belt chime (if seat belt is not engaged). This has occured on several occasions since about 11/1/2024.

While driving at night in the rain. The front windshield wipers paused in an upright position for 3-5 seconds and all exterior illumination/lighting went out. They all came back momentarily.
