POWER STEERING HAS FAILED AGAIN. POWER STEERING WAS FIXED UNDER A PREVIOUS RECALL, BUT THE POWER STEERING PUMP HAS FAILED AGAIN MAY 2020.

WHEN TURNING AT LOW SPEED, THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER STEERING. AT FIRST THIS ONLY HAPPENED OCCASIONALLY AND NOT IT IS HAPPENING MORE. IT ALSO GETS WORSE IF VEHICLES HAS BEEN DROVE ALONG THAT DAY. CHECK POWER STEERING FLUID AND IT IS FULL. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME I TURN BUT RANDOMLY WHEN TURNING AT LOW SPEED. TURNING ONTO A ROAD, AT STOPLIGHT OR INTO AND OUT OF PARKING SPOTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BERGER CHEVROLET (616-949-5200, LOCATED AT 2525 28TH ST SE, GRAND RAPIDS, MI 49512) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WARRANTY DID NOT COVER THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THEY WOULD CONTACT THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 126,000.

The contact stated that when she started her vehicle and shifted into drive (D) and depressed the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact stated that she attempted to drive the vehicle however, the vehicle failed to exceed 20 MPH. The contact stated that the check engine and TPMS warning lights were illuminated. The contact parked the vehicle nearby her residence. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle had not been diagnosed and had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

I WAS PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY IN REVERSE AND CONTROL OF THE CAR WAS LOST. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR AND I WAS NEVER TOLD OF ANY ISSUES OR RECALLS WITH THE CAR AS IT SHOULD HAVE WENT THROUGH A SAFETY INSPECTION. EVEN WHEN I LOOKED ONLINE THE VEHICLE WAS CLEARED FOR RECALL REPAIRS. NO SERVICE ENGINE LIGHTS ALERTED ME OF ANY PROBLEMS. THIS HAPPENED INSTANTLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION BACKING INTO A CITY STREET.

FAILURE INCLUDED CODES PERTAINING WAVE PLATE, SLIPPAGE, AND PERFORMANCE ISSUES WITH FAILURE TO SHIFT AND ACCELLERATE. CALL TO GM TO VERIFY EXTENDED COVERAGE UNDER #14404B: SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT - TRANSMISSION CLUTCH WAVE PLATE (AUG 12, 2016) WAS TOLD THAT THE VIN NUMBER DID NOT CORRESPOND TO THE AFFECTED COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS TAKEN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 87,000.

The car appeared to have lost power, not while entering the freeway. I pressed on the gas, but it made a loud sound and barely moved. I then saw smoke, pulled over and the car cut off. The car continued to smoke. I opened the hood, and it was a fire under it. Prior to driving, the check engine light was on.

I bought a used car and maybe it’s just wear and tear but I’ve seen it in lots of forums on the internet also. My back end sways going around curves almost like I am fishtailing and then my traction control dings and it says service traction control and also my car jumps when in idle the rpm needle moves with it. It acts like it doesn’t want to get up and go at about 60. I’ve seen a lot of people talk about the engine and transmission going out in vehicles. I didn’t know this when I bought the vehicle. I have 2 kids and I need this car to take them to school and errands. I don’t know if this is normal wear and tear or if it’s something wrong with the car from the beginning

COUPLE MONTHS AGO I WAS OUT WITH MY FAMILY AND NOTICED THAT THE CAR WAS ALMOST STUTTERING WHEN I PLACED IT IN REVERSE. A LITTLE LIKE WHEN YOU DRIVE A CAR WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND YOU DEPRESS THE CLUTCH BUT DON'T GIVE THE CAR ENOUGH GAS AND IS STARTS TO JERK BACKWARDS INSTEAD OF ROLL SMOOTHLY. THEN AS I TRAVELED HOME I NOTICED A SORT OF SHUTTER WHEN THE CAR SHIFTS AT 25 MPH- I'M GUESSING AROUND 3RD GEAR. NO SHUTTERING AT A HIGHER GEAR. IT HAS BEEN IN MY GARAGE SINCE THAT DAY AND I HAVE NOT DRIVEN IT. FROM WHAT I BEEN READING & LEARNING IT HAS TO DO WITH THE WAVE PLATES ON THE INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION. PLEASE HELP.

"SERVICE AIR BAG" DIC MESSAGE AND DASHBOARD AIR BAG WARNING ICON CAME ON INTERMITTENTLY. THEN IT CAME ON AND STAYED ON FOR A WHILE - LONG ENOUGH TO LOG A CODE. THIS OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING AROUND TOWN AND ON THE HIGHWAY. THE DEALER SAID IT NEEDED AN AIR BAG HARNESS. THEY TOLD ME THE CONNECTION POINTS OF THE WIRING LOOSEN UP OVER TIME AND GIVE A DIFFERENT CIRCUIT RESISTANCE READING THAT THE COMPUTER READS AS A FAULT. THAT WILL COST 3 HOURS OF LABOR AND MANY DOLLARS FOR THE REPLACEMENT HARNESS. I AM WAITING FOR THE HARNESS TO COME ON NOW. BUT THIS VEHICLE EXHIBITS THE SAME SYMPTOMS THAT WERE COVERED IN A 2014 RECALL PROGRAM. THE 2014 REPAIR WAS DONE, AND NOW THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED. SOMETHING IS WRONG HERE. I WAS TOLD IT IS OKAY TO DRIVE BUT BE AWARE THAT IF THE WARNING LIGHT IS LIT, THE AIR BAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY.

SHE ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE, BUT TO NO AVAIL. WHEN SHE GRADUALLY REMOVED HER FOOT FROM THE BRAKE, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO 80 MPH. THE CONSUMER PUT THE HAZARDS ON AND PLACED BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE AS SHE TRIED TO HOLD DOWN THE SPEED. RIGHT STRUT MOUNTING BRACKET BROKE OFF AS THE WELDING BROKE . BRACKET FRACTURE CAUSED SWAY BAR LINK TO BECOME DISCONNECTED, DAMAGING SWAY BAR LINKAGE AND UPPER BALL SOCKET. THIS HAPPENED ON HIGHWAY 17 IN SANTA CRUZ, CA. I JUST HAD MY TIRES ROTATED (4-2-14 ) AT LOCAL SHOP AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE INCIDENT AND THEY FOUND THE TOP PART OF COIL SPRING -- APPROX. 3 TO 4 INCHES HAD BROKEN OFF. I GOT AN EST TO REPAIR AND WAS TOLD THAT THEIR PARTS SUPPLIER HAD OVER 150 UNITS OF THESE SPRINGS IN STOCK.( VERY UNUSUAL TO HAVE THIS MANY PCS IN STOCK UNLESS THERE ARE PROBLEMS W/ IT ) I ALSO THEN WENT HOME AND CHECKED ON INTERNET AND THERE ARE LOTS OF GMC & CHEVY VEH'S OF THIS TYPE THAT ARE HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS / ISSUES W/ THE COIL SPRING BREAKING. I CHECKED TO SEE IF ANY RECALL OR ADVISORY WAS LISTED -- NOTHING. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING -- I DRIVE MAY ROAD MILES AND THERE CERTAINLY IS NO ABUSE TO THIS VEH. I NOW MAY BE STUCK W/ A $ 300.00 PLUS REPAIR BILL WHICH IS NOT SOMETHING I'M LOOKING TO DO BECAUSE IT'S RECOMMENDED THAT BOTH COIL SPRINGS BE REPLACED BECAUSE WITH ONLY PUTTING ON 1 IT WILL BE STIFFER THAN THE ONE ON DRIVERS SIDE AND MOST LIKELY IT WILL BREAK ALSO BECAUSE OF THE SHIFT IN WEIGHT FROM THE NEW ONE. THE TRUNK DOOR CLOSED DOWN ON ME AND THE SENSOR DID NOT SEND A SIGNAL TO MAKE THE DOOR GO BACK UP. 2009 TRAVERSE PURCHASED 4/30/2009. FROM THE START IT HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON BUT NO SYMPTOMS OF FAILURE. WE TOOK IT TO DEALER 1 ON 9/02/2010, WITH 22,753 MILES. THEY REPLACED WIRING UNDER ENGINE PLENUM TO #1 IGNITION COILS. A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. AT THIS TIME THE CAR STARTED TO LOSE POWER ON THE FREEWAY SOMETIMES. WE TOOK IT TO DEALER 2 ON 10/11/2010, THEY HAD TO GET PARTS AND DID A TEMPORARY FIX. WE BROUGHT IT BACK ON 11/1/2010, WITH 24,656 MILES ON IT AND THEY SUPPOSEDLY FIXED IT. THEY REPLACED CONNECTORS IN THE JUNCTION BOX, SAYING IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. THE LIGHT WAS BACK ON WITHIN A FEW DAYS, AND THE CAR WAS STILL LOSING POWER. WE TOOK IT TO DEALER 3 ON 2/09/2011, WITH 30,287 MILES FOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AND LOSS OF POWER. THEY REPLACED ECM AND ALL 6 COILS. THE DAY WE LEFT THE SHOP, THE LIGHT WAS BACK ON AND WITHIN A DAY THE CAR WAS LOSING POWER AGAIN. BACK TO THE SHOP ON 2/17/11. THIS TIME THEY REPLACED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THE DAY AFTER WE LEFT THE SHOP THE LIGHT WAS BACK ON. THEY TOLD US IT NEEDED A SMALL ADJUSTMENT AND TO BRING IT BACK ON 3/05/11. WE WENT TO THE SHOP AND THE MECHANIC DID NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. AFTER BEING THERE FOR A FEW HOURS AND CALLING CHEVY 800 #, THEY TOLD US TO COME BACK NEXT WEEK. ON 3/06/11, THE CAR WAS LOSING POWER SO BAD THAT WE WANTED TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE SHOP, BUT THEY WERE CLOSED. ON 3/07/11 THE TRAVERSE STARTED LOSING POWER, AND THEN DIED. IT LOST ALL POWER AND THE BRAKES FAILED AS A RESULT. WE HAD TO SLAM ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO NOT HAVE AN ACCIDENT, AND WERE LUCKY TO NOT BE REAR ENDED. WHILE DRIVING TO WORK MY TRAVERSE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. I HAD TO COAST TO THE EDGE OF THE ROAD AND THEN PUSH IT INTO A PARKING LOT. WHILE DRIVING THE LIGHTS SEEMED TO GO DIM AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF! . THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHO SAID THE TIMING CHAIN WENT AND WHEN IT DID IT BASICALLY BLEW THE ENGINE. A NEW ENGINE COST MORE THEN WHAT I OWE ON THE CAR. AFTER CALLING AROUND I FOUND OUT THAT MECHANICS DO NOT LIKE TO REPLACE THE ENGINE IN THE TRAVERSE BECAUSE THE TIMING CHAIN ISSUE. MY MILEAGE IS ABOUT 140,000. I CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND FILED A COMPLAINT. I WAS TOLD THEY DO HAVE A 'SPECIAL WARRANTY ON THE TIMING CHAIN HOWEVER IT'S ONLY UP TO 120,000 MILES AND I AM 20,000 OVER THE SPECIAL WARRANTY. IF ENGINE DIES COMPLETELY AT 70MPH ON FREEWAY A BAD WRECK CAN HAPPEN THIS IS UNSAFE AND CHEVROLET SHOULD REPLACE THESE ENGINES.

MY 09' TRAVERSE STARTED TO SHUDDER INTERMITTENTLY ON ACCELERATION AND THEN THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT (SEL) CAME ON. I HAD THE CAR DIAGNOSED AND THE CODE WAS A P0302 (MISFIRE CYL). I HAD THE CAR SERVICED AND REPAIRED BY AN ASE CERTIFIED MECHANIC. ALL COILS AND SPARK PLUGS WERE REPLACED ALONG WITH FUEL INJ SERVICE, PERFORMANCE RESTORE (OIL, GASKETS, ETC). NO DISCREPANCIES WERE NOTED WITH PREVIOUS COILS/PLUGS. THE CAR APPEARED TO BE FIXED. NO PROBLEMS WERE NOTED DURING AN 800 MILE ROUNDTRIP. THEN THE SHUDDERING RETURNED DURING NORMAL DAY DRIVING AROUND TOWN UPON ACCELERATION WITH THE SEL ILLUMINATING. I TOOK THE CAR BACK INTO THE MECHANIC, AND THE CODE WAS THE SAME (P0302). AS SOON AS MY VEHICLE REACHED JUST OVER 102,000 MILES, MY ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE WE WERE DRIVING OUR KIDS TO PRACTICE. THE REAR HATCH WOULD OPEN AND SHUT ON YOU. I OPENED IT AND HAD IT COME DOWN ON ME AND IT CLOSED ON MY LEGS. THE RECALL # 257343 WAS DONE FOR THIS BUT WAS DOING IT AGAIN. I WOULD THINK SINCE IT'S DOING THE SAME THING IT WOULD BE COVERED AGAIN....IT WASN'T. I PAID TO HAVE FIXED.

TRAVERSE STOPPED AT A CITY INTERSECTION AND FAILED TO MOVE OR START AFTER THAT. TIMING CHAIN BROKE AT 158,000 CAUSING DAMAGE TO CATALYTIC CONVERTERS. FAILURE OF POWER STEERING WAS AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR MONTHS THAT CAUSED WHEELS TO LOCK UP DURING TURNS AND THEN SUDDENLY RELEASE CAUSING MUCH OVER CORRECTION BECAUSE OF HAVING TO PULL SO HARD ON THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN IT WOULD GO OUT.

THE CONTACT CALLED A DEALER (LANNAN CHEVROLET, 40 WINN ST, WOBURN, MA 01801, (781) 897-0508) TO INSPECT AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT SEND A NOTIFICATION OF ANY EXTENDED WARRANTY CAMPAIGNS; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN A WATER PUMP SEAL LEAK, POWER STEERING, TRANSMISSION, AND ADDITIONAL SERVICE CAMPAIGNS. AFTER THE DEALER'S REPAIRS, THE VEHICLE WAS RODE ROUGHLY AND THE ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED TWO DAYS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER WHO INDICATED THAT FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN AT THE DEALER FOR LONGER THAN TWO WEEKS WITH NO RESOLUTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFUSED TO PROVIDE A REMEDY FOR THE SEVERAL EXTENDED WARRANTY CAMPAIGNS, OF WHICH SOME WERE NOT COMPLETED, BUT THE DEALER SPECIFIED ON THE INVOICE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,000.

WATER PUMP WENT OUT (WASNT NOTIFIED IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY) HAD IT REPLACED. WATER PUMP WENT OUT AGAIN, DEALER REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. STEERING BEGAN WHINING AGAIN AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THATS NORMAL NOTHING MORE THEY CAN DO. ATTEMPTED TO GET RE-IMBURSEMENT FROM GM FOR WATER PUMP, NEVER HEARD A PEEP BACK FROM CORPORATE REGARDING MY REIMBURSEMENT FORM I MAILED IN. BASED ON LACK OF SERVICE FROM DEALERS/GM, WHEN CAR BEGAN REVING AT HIGH RPMS AND SHIFTING HARD, NON GM MECHANIC INDICATED WAVE PLATE FAILED AND TRASHED TRANSMISSION. TRANSMISSION WAS REBUILT AND THEN BEGAN THROWING TRACTION CONTROL & BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHTS. IRONICALLY, WHEN I FOUND THIS FORUM THIS WEEK, I NOTICED GM WAS COVERING THE WAVE PLATE ISSUE, YET THEY NEVER INFORMED US VIA MAIL OR PHONE. I PAID OUT OF POCKET. UPON CONTACTING GM, THEY GRACIOUSLY WAIVED THE 105.00 DIAGNOSTIC FEE AND INFORMED ME I NEEDED A NEW MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER . CORPORATE HOWEVER, APPRECIATED MY 30 YEARS OF LOYALTY BUT WAS UNABLE TO COVER THE COST (385.00) TO REPLACE THE CYLINDER. THEY WOULD CONSIDER GIVING ME A COUPON TOWARDS THE PURCHASE OF A FUTURE GM VEHICLE. FINALLY, AFTER HAVING MY MECHANIC REPLACE THE CYLINDER (SAVING ME $$) THE TRAVERSE THREW CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND AS A STOP SIGN WAS APPROACHED, THE BRAKES FAILED TO ENGAGE. HAD WE NOT DRIVEN OFF THE ROAD TO AVOID THE CAR STOPPED IN FRONT OF US, WE WOULD HAVE REAR ENDED THEM. LUCKILY THIS DIDNT HAPPEN TO MY WIFE WHEN SHE HAD THE KIDS WITH HER. WE LIMPED THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE MECHANIC WHO HAS FOUND THE BOOSTER IS FULL OF OIL AND HE IS STILL RESEARCHING THE CAUSE. MY DAUGHTER HAD TO BE RUSHED TO HOSPITAL IN AN AMBULANCE. MY OTHER DAUGHTER AND MYSELF GOT IN OUR 2009 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE AND WENT TO FOLLOW IT. I TURNED ON THE CAR AND HAD BOTH LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS FAIL. SO THERE WE WERE FOLLOWING THE AMBULANCE HOLDING THE HIGHBEAM SWITCH ON SO THAT WE COULD FOLLOW IT AND BLINDING EVERYONE IN OUR PATH. I bought the car in August of last year and drove it for about 3 days before it started giving me problems. First incident I was driving my children home from the hairdresser and the car completely went out us on the highway, after repeated attempts for a half hour or so I was able to start it and drive it back home very slowly..this happened twice I went to get it diagnosed and codes came up for crank shaft sensor and o2 sensor, before I could even get that fixed more problems came up, the steering wheel began to become stiff and almost impossible to turn, while picking my son up from school I was trying to pull away from the curb in the drop off spot and almost hit another car and a child because the steering wheel stiffened up on me!!! I was told I would need an entire steering rack!!! ...also the key has gotten stuck in the ignition and wouldn't start and I had to have it towed to a mechanic for that as well. Driving up hill one day I lost power that made it seem like it was stuck in low, then we lost reverse altogether as well as the ability to climb hills. I got the transmission repaired, barely made it home before it started doing the exact same thing, no reverse and won't go up hills, so I had to get it towed back to the shop to fix it once again, now I find out that the computer went bad as well and was causing the car to perform in neutral. This car has given me nothing but problems since I bought it! It is very dangerous to be on the road! I don't understand how they're even still in circulation!! This is by far the worst experience I've ever had with a vehicle! Upon doing research online I seen that there were HUNDREDS of people with these cars experiencing the same problems. Something has to be done!! I had the car almost a year and only got about a week's worth of use!!

A year a go the steering at low speed would act like the power steering just stop working, very hard to turn. but not all the time, but now it more often. when a kid ran out between two parked cars I went to turn and hit the brakes the steering went out. Luckily he stop in time, but after that I needed it repaired. Went to GM web site and was amazed of all the people with this, called chevy dealer about repairs and was told its my problem and it would be $ 2100.00 to replace a faulty power steering pump, how is this not a safety problem. Try turning in a parking space and the wheel locks up its hard not to hit the car beside you. WITH NO WARNING

"TAKATA RECALL" WHILE DRIVING ON I70 SOUTH IN THE FAST LANE MY 2009 CHEVY TRAVERSE STARTED TO LOOSE POWER, LIGHTS STARTED FLICKERING, AND THEN ULTIMATELY STOPPED AS I WAS PARTIALLY IN THE ROADWAY. STATE PATROL HAD TO COME OUT AND MOVE THE VEHICLE AND ASSURE MY SAFETY OF EXITING ON THIS VERY DARK INTERSTATE. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT EVEN START UP AGAIN. AND THIS WAS THREE DAYS FOLLOWING A TUNE-UP W/6 NEW COIL PACKS, OIL CHANGE W/FILTER AND FLOW VENT. AND ALL THIS COST ALMOST 600.00 BUCKS BECAUSE COILS ARE NEARLY 45.00 PER COIL. AND ALL THIS HAD TO HAPPEN BECAUSE OF A CONSTANT MISFIRE IN ALL OF MY CYLINDERS. SO I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED 48 MILES HOME AND THEN 16 MILES TO THE DEALER JUST TO BE TOLD THAT THIS TRUCK HAS A TIMING CHAIN RECALL THAT WAS NEVER DONE. SO I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP TO CALL CHE Y CORPORATE OFFICE. LOL. CHEVROLET TOLD ME THAT THE THE RECALL EXPIRED AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE TIMING CHAIN MYSELF. AFTER 2 YEARS OF CONSTANT SPENDING. IM DONE AND HAVE BEEN ADVISED TO SUE. THE TROOPER CALLED TO FOLLOW UP WITH ME BECAUSE I DID ALMOST DIE ON THE INTERSTATE BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WENT COMPLETELY OUT AND 18 WHEELERS WERE GOING EXTREMELY FAST. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN HER ANTI-LOCK BREAK LIGHT AND STABILITRAK LIGHT GO OFF WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ON A MAJOR SURFACE STREET (50MPH). TAKE IT IN TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT, THEY FIND A SENSOR IN THE BRAKE CYLINDER IS BAD, AND THE CYLINDER IS GUSHING BRAKE FLUID. $800+ TO FIX. PLUS OUR POWER STEERING IS GOING BAD. THERE IS AN INTERNAL LEAK IN SOME BOOTS THAT ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. $1200 TO FIX. IT'S LIKE THEY HAD A BUNCH OF PARTS LYING AROUND, AND THEY SLAPPED THEM TOGETHER TO BUILD A VEHICLE, EVEN THOUGH NONE OF THE PARTS WORK TOGETHER. WE HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH THE 09 CHEVY TRAVERSE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SO WE RAN TEST ON IT. THE TEST CAME BACK THAT THERE WERE 4 SENSORS THAT WENT OUT. WE WENT AND PURCHASED THOSE 4 SENSORS AND RESET THE COMPUTER AND WITHIN AN HOUR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS BACK ON FOR THOSE SENSORS. WE THEN WENT AND REPLACED THE SENSORS ONCE AGAIN AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED. THE NEXT THING THAT HAPPENED WAS THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. CHANGED BOTH HEADLIGHTS AND A MONTH LATER THEY WENT OUT AGAIN. ONLY WAY TO HELP THIS ISSUE WAS TO TURN OFF DAYTIME LIGHTS. ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO THE AC UNIT JUST STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THOUGHT THE AC MIGHT NEED RECHARGED SO WE RECHARGED IT AND IT WORKED AGAIN FOR ABOUT AN HOUR. NOW IT WILL NOT EVEN ALLOW YOU TO TURN THE AC ON AT ALL. JUST A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHED AND THE CAR STATED CHECK ENGINE SOON THEN THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR READ THAT STABILITRAK WAS OFF. 6/9/2015 MY CAR WAS SERVICED AT THE CHEVY DEALERS REPAIR SHOP TO PREPARE FOR A LONG DISTANCE TRIP. THEY REPORTED I NEEDED 4 NEW TIRES. I ONLY AGREED TO REPLACE 2 REAR TIRES. I RECEIVED MY CAR 6/10/2015. 6/15/2015 ONLY 4 DAYS LATER ONE OF THE NEW TIRES BLEW OUT INTO 3 PCS (JUST MISSING SERIOUS OR FATAL INJURY). ONCE AAA INSTALLED THE SPARE TIRE I CALLED THE MANAGER OF THE CHEVY REPAIR SHOP IN NJ TO REPORT THE BLOW OUT & TO REQUEST THEY PAY FOR PENDING REPAIRS. HE STATED HE DID NOT HAVE A WAY TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. HE ADVISED ME TO PAY FOR THE TIRE REPAIRS A REIMBURSEMENT. 6/15/2015 I WAS ADVISED THAT THE TIRE SENSOR WAS DESTROYED IN THE BLOW OUT. ONLINE I DISCOVERED THAT THE TIRES PLACED ON MY CAR ON JUNE 10, 2015 WERE RECALLED BY GOODYEAR BETWEEN DECEMBER 2014 AND FEBRUARY 2015. MY TIRES:TYPE: GOODYEAR HL EDITION FORTEGRA; SIZE: MTS P255/65R18; DOT# 4BXM ARDR 4614 & DOT# 4BXM ARDR 0515. I FOUND AN ONLINE LETTER FROM GOODYEAR TO ALL DEALERS MANDATING THEM TO RETURN ALL RECALLS. I SHELLED OUT $777.31 TO HAVE MY CAR READY FOR TRAVEL. DURING THE BLOW OUT I PUT OUT $193.77 TO GET MY CAR SAFELY BACK HOME. I PAID OUT $1,051.21 TO REPLACE 4 NEW TIRES. I THEN HAD TO COUGH UP $380.60 TO GET BRAKES AND ROTORS WHICH STOPPED WHEEL VIBRATION. THE GRAND COST WAS MORE THAN $2,402.89 WHICH DDI NOT COVER TIRE REMOVAL AND DONUT INSTALLATION. WHEN MAKING A LEFT-HAND TURN INTO A SCHOOL PARKING LOT, AT NORMAL TURNING SPEEDS WITH NO EXCESSIVE ACCELERATION OR MOVEMENT, WITHOUT WARNING THE CARSEAT'S LOWER LEFT ANCHOR DISCONNECTED FROM THE METAL BAR ON THE BACK SEAT AND FELL TO THE RIGHT, WITH MY SON IN IT. I SEE NO DAMAGE OR DEFECT ON THE LATCH ITSELF; NOR DO I SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE METAL BAR INSTALLED ON THE SEAT. I HAD TROUBLE GETTING THE LOWER LEFT ANCHOR TO EXTEND WHEN I WENT TO RE-INSTALL THE SEAT. NOTE: THE CARSEAT IN QUESTION IS AN EVENFLO SYMPHONY 65, MODEL #3121881, MANUFACTURED 01/19/2009. 1ST. MY WIFE WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT AND HAD TO STOP QUICKLY, THEN WHEN SHE PROCEEDED TO LEAVE AGAIN BY LETTING OFF THE BRAKE - THE CAR ROLLED FORWARD ON A SLIGHT INCLINE AND HIT THE CAR PARKED NEXT TO HER. WHEN SHE REMOVED HER FOOT TO THE GAS - NOTHING SHE COULD DO TO PREVENT THIS INCIDENT. 2ND. WHILE IN THE DRIVE POSITION ON A HILL AT A STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC SIGNAL, I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL BACK ALMOST HITTING THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME. WE FURTHER TESTED THE VEHICLE ON VARIOUS HILLS/INCLINES BOTH IN DRIVE AND REVERSE AND IT CONTINUED TO ROLL IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF THE ENGAGED GEAR. APPARENTLY, THIS IS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ON THIS VEHICLE, THE SERVICE CONSULTANT AT COURTESY CHEVROLET OF ORLANDO, SAID THIS IS A FLAW IN THE POWER TRAIN AND THEIRS NO KNOWN FIX. HE ADVISED US NOT TO DRIVE IT TO THE MOUNTAINS IF IT WERE HIM. SINCE OUR SUV IS FOR MY VACATIONS AND PRIMARY USE, WE ARE VERY CONCERNED FOR OUR SAFETY. WE CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER VEHICLE SINCE WE HAD SAVED UP FOR THE DOWN PAYMENT FOR THIS CAR. I SAW THERE ARE A LOT OF COMPLAINS OF THE SAME CASE, IT WAS MENTIONED UNTIL SOMEONE DIES AND/OR THE FAMILY FILES A LAWSUIT - NO RECALL OR ACTION WILL BE DONE TO FIX THIS! AS I WAS DRIVING GOING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH THE PARK ASSIST MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD AND THEN THE CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER. THE GAUGES WENT TO 0 AND THE RADIO AND AIR CONDITIONING WENT OFF. IT THEN SUDDENLY POPPED BACK ON AND 4 DIFFERENT WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON THE DASH (CHECK ENGINE, TIRE PRESSURE, A DECAL WITH A LOCK AND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT) AND THEN OFF AGAIN. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE ENGINE OFF. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO START THE CAR AGAIN IT WOULD NOT TURN OVER. I ATTEMPTED 2 TIMES AND ON THE 3RD TIME THE ENGINE TURNED OVER AND THE WARNING LIGHTS WERE OFF. THE FOLLOWING CODES CAME UP WHEN A COMPUTER DIAGNOSTIC TOOL WAS PLUGGED IN APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES AFTER THE ISSUE OCCURRED. B2AAA, B2A00, P0008, PO202 AND U25E5. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH THE VEHICLE STARTED TO INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATE. WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO CHECKED AND REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKE SHOES AND ROTORS. THE REPAIR WAS COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. THE FIRST FAILURE HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS AGO AND RECURRED ON DECEMBER 9, 2010. THE CONTACT REFUSED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AGAIN. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED A SECOND TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THE FRONT HEAD LIGHT AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS CONTINUE TO MALFUNCTION. THE CONTACT STATED THE HEAD LIGHTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE AND THE BRAKE LIGHT HAVE BEEN REPLACED SIX TIMES. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND THE MANUFACTURER IS CURRENTLY TRYING TO PUT THE CONTACT IN ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE DEALER CAN NOT REMEDY THIS ISSUE WITH THE EXTERIOR LIGHTS. THE CONTACT STATED IF THE THE EXTERIOR LIGHTS MALFUNCTION WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT IT CAN CAUSE A CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
