The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while driving at 5 MPH and turning into a parking spot, the steering wheel inadvertently lost power steering assist functionality. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated she was able to forcefully steer the steering wheel with the assistance of her son and the vehicle was parked. The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that they would be able to diagnose the vehicle in the next 3 weeks. The contact also stated that she noticed that the steering wheel would regain power steering functionality while the accelerator pedal was depressed and would lose power steering functionality after releasing the accelerator pedal. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000.

CHEVY TRAVERSE 2015 WITH 72700 MILES HAS PROBLEMS WITH POWER STEERING PUMP ITS MAKING NOISES, AND FEELS HARD WHEN MANEUVERING, I WAS CHECKING RECALLS BUT, MY CAR ITS OUT OF IT BECAUSE IT IS FROM 11/2014 AND RECALL IS FROM 12/ 2014 JUST A COUE OF DAYS, BESIDES THAT THE A/C WAS FIXED BECAUSE DIDN'T WORKED FOR A WHILE MOSTLY IN THE BACK SEATS, I PAYED ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS TO GET IT FIXED.

From almost the time it left the factory, the onboard navigation system included in this vehicle has contained out of date and dangerous mapping. Drivers should be warned not to rely on the system until proper updates are provided by the manufacturer. This is particularly dangerous in areas where new construction has altered entrance and exit points on highways. Countless attempts to work with the manufacturer to obtain an update have fallen on deaf ears. On a recent trip the outdated mapping recommended a 150 mile detour where none was ultimately needed.

I PURCHASED A USED 2015 CHEVY TRAVERSE FROM A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP WITH 58435 MILES. WITHIN 200 MILES, THE REAR AC WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING TO AN AIR SHOW IN JUNE 2020. I LIVE IN THE SOUTHEAST WHERE TEMPS CAN GET VERY HOT AND HUMID QUICKLY, AND I HAVE TWO YOUNG CHILDREN. SO NOW, MY CAR HAS BECOME A HAZARD TO MY CHILDREN AS I AM NOT ABLE TO DRIVE THEM ANYWHERE WHEN THE SUN IS OUT. IT IS UNIMAGINABLE TO LEAVE A CHILD IN A HOT CAR, SO WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE WHEN CHEVROLET HAS KNOWN ABOUT THE AC ISSUES IN ITS VEHICLES FOR YEARS!!! I'M TIRED OF CAR MANUFACTURERS NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR SHOTTY WORK! HOW, IN GOOD FAITH, CAN I DRIVE MY CHILDREN IN MY CAR, IN THE SOUTHEAST, WITH NO AC? WHEN STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, MY CAR'S OIL PRESSURE LOW LIGHT CAME ON. I GOT TO A PLACE WHERE I COULD PULL OFF THE ROAD AND PARK. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND HAD IT TOWED TO MY MECHANIC. THE CAR WAS WELL MAINTAINED WITH ABOUT 65,000 MILES. THE ENGINE IS DONE AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM IS UNKNOWN.

I was never informed of this recall! I just happened to check due to a seperate issue that's been happening(the transmission seems to be slipping, which I also read 2015 traverse's have that recall too, just not under my VIN) But it upsets me that I never received notice on this and the recall was in May 2023 and it's now March 2025!! I drive this car DAILY and also have my boyfriend in the passenger seat DAILY on our commute to and from work!!

VEHICLE BEGAN STUTTERING WHEN UPSHIFT OR DOWNSHIFT 2ND-3RD GEARS LOW SPEEDS. TOOK TO DEALER. AT FIRST COULD NOT REPLICATE BUT THEN FOUND GM SERVICE BULLETIN # 18-NA-358 (SEE ATTACHED). FIRST RELEASED IN NOVEMBER 2018 AND MOST RECENTLY UPDATED OCTOBER 2020. IT LISTS THIS EXACT PROBLEM AND A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. IT INCLUDES MANY GM VEHICLES INCLUDING MY 2015 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE DEALER SAID THERE WAS NOT A RECALL THAT THIS WAS JUST A NORMAL BULLETIN TO HELP TECHNICIANS HANDLE PREVIOUSLY REPORTED PROBLEMS. I WOULD REQUEST SOMEONE TO REVIEW FOR A POSSIBLE RECALL. MY TRAVERSE ONLY HAS 94,000 MILES.

The rear lower brake lights stopped working. Only the top center brake light will work. This is the second time in about a month and a half that this has happened. The first time the dealer replaced the brake light switch located on the brake pedal. This time I have been told that the main fuse block has to be replaced. If this is not fixed, this will cause other system's to malfunction including the ABS, transmission not shifting properly (this happened the first time). I had about 3 or 4 different warning messages the first time this happened. These fuse blocks are on national back order. Unknown when I will be able to get the part. In the meantime, I have a vehicle that I cannot drive due to safety problems. I have done some research and found that GM has major problems with these fuse blocks. This problem is caused by a poor design of the fuse block by GM.

on my vehicle the Electrical system in the Drivers door and All 4 doors have connector connecting the doors electrical to the main Body harness. These connectors DO NOT HAVE a gasket or any means of sealing out the weather, This connector rides between door and body between the Hinges and is exposed to weather and Road Conditions. This Connector not being weather Proofed has rotted and shorted/Corroded pins. This failure of the Pins has disabled all electrical function controlled from the Driver door. 1. Driver is unable to adjust Power mirrors. 2. Driver is unable to lock or unlock other doors. 3. Driver is unable to Disable Other passengers ability to open or close ANY power windows 4. Driver is unable to open/close Drivers window and or Passenger windows. (ie child opens) 5. Driver is unable to Open or close any power windows. 6. Should driver manually lock Driver Door and become incapacitated in any way, Driver Door lock does not respond to Lock/UN-Lock form other doors or computer. I recently bought this vehicle in a private sale, Previous owner did point out window buttons not working, I believe was unaware of the other Door Controls not functioning, was un-aware of functions not working. Searching on google has reviled this issue to me on wide range of years and makes for Chevy/GMC

The headlights constantly burn out, at a rate of one bulb every two months. It would be a tragic safety event if they both went out at the same time. The design of the headlight system is poor in that you have to replace the light through the inner fender, making it nearly impossible to do without touching the bulb. Poor design and something needs to be done to address this issue.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,500.

I JUST BOUGHT MY 2015 TRAVERSE A WEEK AGO AND NOTICED THAT THE TIRES HAVE LARGE CRACKS IN THEM, MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 34,000 MILES ON IT AND THE TIRES ARE THE ONES PUT ON FROM THE FACTORY, I'VE LOOKED FOR RECALLS, AND THERE IS ONE OUT FOR THE TIRES, BUT NOT FOR MY SPECIFIC VIN. THE TIRES ARE DOING THE EXACT SAME WAY AS THE RECALL.

MY TIRES CAME WITH MY BRAND NEW CAR IN 2015. IT IS 2017 AND THEY HAVE 30,000 MILES ON THEM. ALL 4 OF MY TIRES HAD LARGE CRACKS IN THE INNER SIDE OF MY TIRES. ALSO, THESE TIRES WORE UNEVENLY. I HAVE HAD TIRE ROTATIONS EVERY BALANCES WITH EVERY ON TIME SCHEDULED OIL CHANGES. AS WELL AS HAD A FEW ALIGNMENT IN THE PAST TWO YEARS TO ENSURE I DID EVERYTHING RIGHT BY THESE TIRES. I WENT IN THURSDAY OCTOBER 19TH TO GET A POSSIBLE LEAK CHECKED. THE TIRE PLACE SAID I WAS DUE FOR 4 NEW TIRES FOR WEAR AND CRACKS. I WAS LIKE, WHAT? MY CAR IS TOO NEW FOR NEW TIRES AND LOW MILAGE ON THE TIRES. THIS POSED A TIRE BLOW OUT THREAT AND POTENTIAL THREAT TO MY LIFE AND MY FAMILY. I HAVE KEPT MY TIRES TO SUBMIT AS PROOF. THE PICTURE DOES DO ITS JUSTICE AS THE CRACKS WERE FAR BIGGER AND MORE APPARENT WHEN THEY WERE ACTUALLY ON MY CAR.

I RECENTLY NOTED SEVERE DRY ROT OR CRACKING IN THE TIRE TREAD. THE CAR IS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD AND HAS 22K MILES. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE (PREMATURE TREAD CRACKING) FOR THE SPECIFIC OE TIRE MODEL AND SIZE THAT MY VEHICLE HAS. HOWEVER, ACCORDING TO CHEVROLET CUSTOMER SERVICE, MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. IT IS APPARENT FROM THE CONDITION OF THESE TIRES THAT THE RECALL MUST BE EXPANDED TO COVER MORE VEHICLES THAN ORIGINALLY THOUGHT. INFORMATION ABOUT THE RECALL: THE REC ALL BEGAN ON MARCH 9, 2015. While driving at various speeds, the check engine light, service stabilitrack, and service traction control warning lights came on. Vehicle went into limp mode. Independent mechanic said ongoing issue with Chevy and carbon build up in the throttle body. It will keep happening due to flawed system. Dealer denied but keeps happening

Vehicle started bucking and shaking when taking off from traffic light. With excessive speed 50-60MPH that followed the bucking. Tried applying both feet by standing on the brakes. Car started to slow down, only to speed back up until, the vehicle could be shut off. Lights on dash were flashing. On such a heavy traveled, congested road, someone could have been killed. My car is scheduled to be looked at by Dealer.

THE DAMAGE WAS TO THE BUILDING AND FRONT BUMPER. NO DEALER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,700.

CRUISE CONTROL WAS ENGAGED AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, AND I ACCELERATED THE CAR UP AN ENTRANCE RAMP ON TO A 65 MPH HIGHWAY (INTERSTATE 40, DURHAM, NC) TO MERGE INTO MODERATE TRAFFIC HEADING WEST. THE CAR THEN BEGAN ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN DESPITE TAKING MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL, AND PROBABLY REACHED 70 MPH. I PUSHED THE BRAKE PEDAL, WHICH SLOWED THE CAR IN A SHUDDERING MANNER, BUT DID NOT DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL, WHICH CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE. BECAUSE OF THE DANGER OF HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF US, I BRAKED AGAIN, WITH A SIMILAR RESULT. TURNING OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL BY PUSHING THE BUTTON ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE STEERING WHEEL DID NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT. THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE QUICKLY, SO I BRAKED AGAIN AND HELD THEM HARD, WHICH SLOWED THE VEHICLE. ON THIS THIRD TRY, THE CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGED, AND I WAS ABLE TO TURN IT OFF. IT'S NOT BEEN USED SINCE, SO ITS STATUS IS UNKNOWN. NO ACCIDENT AROSE FROM THIS INCIDENT.

I WAS ORIGINALLY IN A PARKING LOT, STOPPED COMPLETELY, THEN PROCEEDED TO GENTLY TURN LEFT IN TO A PARKING SPACE. I BARELY PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR REVVED UP AND TOOK OFF FULL SPEED AHEAD MAKING ME CRASH IN TO A HILL. THE HILL IS A SMALL LANDSCAPE SPACE THAT DIVIDES THE PARKING LOT AND A BUSY 6 LANE STREET. THE FRONT OF THE CAR WAS DAMAGED. I WAS COMPLETELY SHOCKED YET THANKFUL THIS DID NOT HAPPEN IN AN INTERSECTION OR IN TRAFFIC. I HAD THE CAR IMMEDIATELY TOWED TO A CHEVY DEALERSHIP SO THEY CAN ASSESS THE ISSUE AND I DID NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING STARTING IT UP AND DRIVING AGAIN. I TOWED IT TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP I HAD JUST LEFT FROM AS THIS SAME DAY THEY HAD COMPLETED A REPAIR ON THE EMISSIONS SYSTEM. I FILED A CLAIM WITH THE INSURANCE COMPANY. I'M STILL WAITING TO FOR THE VEHICLE INSPECTION REPORT DETAILS.

The second seat seat buckled one on driver side and the one in middle have broken. My families safety is at risk because we are not able to use the seatbelts with these broken buckles. No I have not taken it to a dealer or independent repair shop nor has it been inspected. No warning lamps or messages appeared when it first appeared nor has it since. My car has not been in an accident.

The plastic casing that keeps the seat belt in place on a rear seatbelt broke apart making the seatbelt unusable. A child's carseat was moved to the other side when I Seen that the plastic was also cracked on that one making it unusable. There has been no incidents because I won't put a child in my car. There has not been any kind of inspection done yet.

MY CAR HAS 46K MILES, SEVERAL TIMES NOW MY SERVICE STABILITRACK HAS CAME ON ALONG WITH SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL AND MY ENGINE LIGHT. IVE HAD THE ENGINE LIGHT READ AND IT READS P0700. I REPLACED THE BATTERY, CLEANED SENSORS, CLEANED THROTTLE BODY, CHECKED ELECTRICAL WIRING AND EVEN THE ALTERNATOR AND ITS STILL HAPPENING! SEVERAL TIMES I HAVE HAD MY 4 KIDS IN MY CAR WHEN THE CAR SAYS "REDUCED POWER" AND I ALMOST GET HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE AND IT WILL ONLY GO 15-20MPH. I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 40 MPH ON SECONDARY ROADWAY AND THE CAR SUDDENLY DECELERATED WITH THE DASH CLUSTER INDICATING THAT THE STABILTRAK SYSTEM WAS OFF AND ENGINE POWER REDUCED. OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS IN THE MID 30'S AND THERE WAS PRECIPITATION ON THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE ABOVE 25MPH. THIS HAPPENED AFTER A LONG HIGHWAY RUN FROM NYC TO CLEVELAND. I WAS LUCKY I WAS NOT DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH DEALERSHIP IN A COUPLE OF DAYS BUT I SEE SIMILAR POSTS AND I'M NOT SURE THIS CAR IS SAFE.

Every so often, when I brake, just before the car should come to a complete stop, the engine seems to rev and the car will keep moving forward a few feet. Chevy dealership had 3 different service technicians drive the car to try to recreate the problem, but since it is a rare occurrence, they did not experience the issue. Googling the scenario returns many who say it may be a vacuum leak in the brake booster. Dealership said the brake booster is fine. Floor mat interference with the gas pedal has also been mentioned. I removed the floor mat, and I still have the issue. Dealership said the brakes themselves are fine, and the diagnostic tool returned no problem codes. They also searched for any recalls, but none were found. Any insight provided is appreciated.

I NOTICED THERE WAS A RECALL ON SIMILAR YEAR MAKES/MODELS IN REGARDS TO BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURES. MY 2015 CHEVY TRAVERSE FREQUENTLY HAS BRAKING ISSUES RELATED TO THE RECALL. IT OFTEN ALWAYS HAS NOISE FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN DEPRESSED THAT SOUNDS LIKE AIR BEING EXPELLED FROM THE LINE. THIS HAPPENS AT MULTIPLE RATES OF SPEEDS IN MULTIPLE DRIVING CONDITIONS; INCLUDING SLOW CITY DRIVING, HIGHWAY AT HIGH SPEEDS, IN RAIN AND IN SNOW AS WELL AS DRY DAYS. I HAVE A 2015 CHEVY TRAVERSE WITH 13,000 MILES. I WAS IN A NEIGHBORHOOD AFTER REVERSING OUT OF THE PARKING SPOT AND DRIVING DOWN A SHORT STEEP HILL. I WANTED TO TURN AND TRIED TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT IT WAS NOT IN THE PROPER LOCATION. I GLIDED, PUT IN NEUTRAL AND PRESSED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP. IT WAS AT NIGHT AND I DID NOT SEE THE LOCATION OF THE BRAKE PEDAL OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS WHERE IT SHOULD BE. I PUT IN PARK AND TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND THE BRAKE PEDAL APPEARED TO BE IN THE CORRECT POSITION AND WORKING. I HAD CHEVY CHECK IT OUT AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. I DON'T KNOW IF THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS STUCK TO THE FLOOR AND IF I HAD PRESSED IT IF IT WOULD HAVE WORKED. IT SEEMS TO HAVE AN AIR LEAK SOUND SOMETIMES WHEN DEPRESSING BRAKE AND THEY JUST SAID IT WAS NORMAL THOUGH I DON'T RECALL HEARING THAT FOR 13,000 MILES BEFORE. The biggest problem is that mechanics don't know how to fix this problem. Traction control needs servicing with causes you to lose acceleration on the freeway. Then sometimes stabilitrac also goes off. Now the vehicle engine keeps running when turned off. The air conditioning sometimes randomly won't work at all, and last the tire servicing system now won't sync.

The 2015 Chevy Traverse LTZ that I own is presenting with the same problems as many of its body style and year. The water intrusion has caused wiring to corrode in the side detection system & the drivers door wiring harness is presenting with open circuits. The LH side object module is throwing code U0233:00. They tested circuits at RH module. Found water intrusion in module, & corrosion on terminals & harness. Due to nature of location of modules, they recommend replacing LH & RH modules & harness. DTC B0085:05 current. Tested circuits & found open circuit internal to drivers door harness. Recommend replacing harness. The air bag code threw 2 days after I bought the veh 04/01/25, I attempted to contact the dealership I bought the vehicle from, AutoCredit in Hayden, ID, who admitted to the dangerous code being present, and that they were going to do nothing about it. Some time late April, my veh threw the code for side detection. On 05/27/25 I took my veh into Taylor & Sons Chevy in Ponderay, who dx my codes, and advised the above was needed. They also confirmed the fact that when that airbag code is present, that none of my airbags would deploy at time of impact if a collision occurred. This is a huge safety risk as much of my daily commute is on the hwy, and the influx of drivers in my area not familiar with the roads is increasing daily. My side detection system is a safety hazard as well due to the Traverse’s blind spots. Thank you for your time. I did not know what to do until I contacted Chevy directly who advised me to contact the NHTSA.

Hello, there is a recall on my vehicle and the parts are not available to replace the part. This is my only vehicle and right now I am not able to drive my vehicle because of this recall. Please Advise.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle started to vibrate, and the contact heard an abnormal popping sound coming from the engine compartment. The contact stated that the vehicle lost motive power. The contact stated that an audible beep was heard, and the air bag, steering, and check engine warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the instrument panel was flashing off and on. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times. The contact stated that the air bag cover on the driver’s side had separated from the roof and that the air bag light remained on constantly. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the air bag needed to be replaced. Additionally, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 165,000.

On March 4, 2023, I purchased a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse from Landers Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram located in Norman, Oklahoma. Before actually purchasing the vehicle and after inspection it was stated to the dealership that the [XXX] would not purchase the vehicle with the various problems notated before purchase. After receiving a verbal agreement that the problems would be fixed my wife and I signed the contract. My wife and I took the car to Lawton Oklahoma from Mach 4 to March 8 when we were to return the vehicle for repairs. Then on March 17, 2023, we picked the vehicle up from Landers after repairs. After leaving Landers Chrysler and then getting onto HE Bailey Turnpike the vehicle’s check engine light came back on, and the passenger headlight was out again. However, on March 20, 2023, [XXX] wrote a letter to Landers Chrysler with several complaints which needed to be rectified. •RE: Failure to disclose material information, and/or making a false representation of a present or past material fact such as a diagnostic trouble code: (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold [possible needed repairs] 2015 Chevrolet Traverse) known to dealer, and by the dealer’s failing to disclose such information involving the vehicle's history to a recent purchaser, and Lending Institution. Landers Chrysler did fix the problem with the check engine light, but refused to fix the front headlight problem, and told the [XXX] that since they had a service contract, that should cover the headlight situation. However, that is not the case. The service contract does not cover headlight problems, and Classic Chevrolet where the vehicle is now located wants to charge me over $2000 to fix the problem. Although my wife and I thought that the headlight was fixed, it was later learned that it was not. I sincerely believe that Landers Chrysler knew that the headlights and possibly light switches had serious problems, then sold the vehicle knowing this. WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC SIGNAL, WITHOUT WARNING THE LIGHTS IN THE DASH, WENT OUT. THE LIGHTS IN THE CENTER DAS CONSOLE (FOR RADIO, ETC) WNET OUT. ALL INTERIOR LIUGHT WERE OUT. THIS LASTED FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 MINUTES. I COULD NOT SIGNAL TO TURN, I DID NOT HAVE ANY WAY TO DETERMINE MY VEHICLE SPEED OR ANYTHING ABOUT THE OPERATING SYSTEM OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER ABOUT THREE MINUTES ALL LIGHT CAME BACK ON. THIS HAS HAPPENDED TWICE IN A PERIOD OF APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS SINCE I LEASED THE VEHICLE ON 07/25/2015.

Air bag on right side is off, Vehicle front dash has the air bag needs to be serviced. this started as of the 1st month of purchased, took to dealership and they could not duplicated the problem. The air bag would go off and off from time to time, but by the time I had my appointment at the dealership it would go back on. Now I am out of warranty and the light is always red that the air bag on the right side is off. I noticed that when we would close the back of the vehicle after placing groceries the light would go off and when closing again it would go off. Now it is always on indicating that the right air bag is not on.

SHORTLY AFTER MY FINAL SERVICE FOR THE VIBRATION ISSUE I REPORTED ABNORMAL SHIFTING DURING ACCELERATION AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE SHIFTING TRAINED TO THE DRIVER. MY WIFE AND I WERE DRIVING OUR 2015 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE ON THE INTERSTATE TRAVELING AT 80MPH. WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR THE ACCELERATOR STAYED IN THE DOWN POSITION AND CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE. WE WERE UP TO 90 MPH. I PUT MY FEET ON THE BRAKES AND WAS ABLE TO SLOW THE VEHICLE TO 70MPH. THE ACCELERATOR WAS STILL STUCK IN THE FLOORED POSITION AND FIGHTING THE BRAKES. I WAS ABLE TO MANIPULATE MY FOOT BEHIND THE ACCELERATOR AND AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO PULL THE ACCELERATOR UP IT RELEASED. THERE WAS A LOUD CLUNK AND WE WERE ABLE TO PULL THE CAR OFF THE INTERSTATE. WHEN THE CAR WAS PLACED IN PARK, ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS WENT ON AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WOULD NO LONGER START. I OPENED MY POWER LIFT GATE USING MY KEY FAB. AFTER PUTTING ITEMS IN THE BACK, I PUSHED THE CLOSE BUTTON LOCATED ON THE LIFT GATE. I THOUGHT I HAD LEFT MY KEYS LAYING INSIDE WITH THE ITEMS I HAD JUST PLACED IN THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE. KNOWING THAT THE SENSORS WOULD READ THAT MY ARM WOULD BLOCK THE DOOR FROM CLOSING, I COULD RETRIEVE MY KEYS. AS IT CONTINUED TO CLOSE, I REALIZED THAT IT WAS NOT RECOGNIZING MY ARM. AS I TRIED TO PULL MY ARM AWAY FROM THE DOOR, IT CAUGHT MY THUMB AND CRUSHED IT. IT REMAINED CLOSED IN THE BACK HATCH UNTIL HELP ARRIVED TO OPEN IT WITH THE KEYS. I WENT TO MY DR AND RECEIVED XRAYS. I FRACTURED MY THUMB AND AM CURRENTLY RECEIVING PHYSICAL THERAPY TREATMENT. I AM CONSTANTLY IN PAIN. WHEN I CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS, I WAS BRUSHED OFF.

During a routine maintenance appointment with my mechanic, the airbag warning light illuminated on the dashboard immediately following service. I brought the vehicle to a dealership for diagnosis and was informed that the issue is due to a manufacturer-issued recall affecting the airbag system. However, I was also told that no replacement parts are currently available and there is no estimated date for when the defective component can be replaced. This creates a serious safety risk, as the vehicle may now be operating with a disabled or malfunctioning airbag system, which could fail to deploy in the event of a collision. I am forced to drive a vehicle that has been acknowledged as unsafe by the manufacturer and dealer, without remedy or safe alternative provided. The dealer confirmed the recall and the unavailability of parts, but has offered no loaner vehicle, reimbursement, or temporary resolution. I am requesting that NHTSA intervene to ensure that: The manufacturer remedies the safety defect in a timely manner. Affected drivers are provided with safe alternative transportation if parts are delayed. Accountability measures are enforced if harm results from known but unresolved recalls. Component/System for inspection: Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Warning lights/symptoms: The airbag indicator light turned on immediately after routine service. Dealer confirmed problem: Yes. Manufacturer informed: Indirectly, through dealer report. Police/Insurance involved: No.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle speed unintendedly decelerated to 25 MPH. During the failure the message "Traction Off", "Engine Power Reduce" and "Stabili-trac" were displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who replaced the accelerator pedal sensor on several occasions, but the failure had eventually reoccurred. The vehicle was recently taken to the local dealer who was unable to reproduce the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 67,206.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact discovered that the front driver side curtain air bag cover panel was loose and unsecured. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the front driver’s side curtain air bag had partially deployed and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle had not been involved in a crash to cause the partial deployment of the air bag. Additionally, the front passenger’s seat occupant detection sensor had failed causing the air bag warning light to remain illuminated. In addition, the front driver’s seat rails had malfunctioned, and the seat continued to move while driving the vehicle. The cause of the failure was not yet determined, and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.

The 2015 Chevy Traverse had a hard shifting transmission from the first day we purchased it. The Chevy Dealer said that it was a shifting software problem. That did not fix it. The hard shifting transmission caused an engine motor mount to break twice. (There was a safety recall on the motor mount) That engine motor mount caused the power steering fluid to leak out. I contacted the Chevy Dealer and they said contact General Motors. General Motors ignored the problems.

While driving the traction control, stabilitrac, all wheel drive, and abs systems will turn off and says to survive them. We have had the vehicle in to 3 different mechanic shops and the issue still persists. Each time a different "fix". This time the wheel speed sensor in the rear was replaced. We have had the other rear wheel speed senor replaced previously as well as the rear wheel bearing hub assembly.

When driving during rain, the ABS light came on due to wet conditions and reduced my driving speed ability, and created difficulty for traffic and for my family on the highway. This of which made me have to pull off to the side of the road and try to travel 40 minutes to a safe destination at a very slow speed while my vehicle was difficult to drive. Once parked overnight at a hotel it was okay to drive but created a very dangerous situation on the roadways. I wasn't sure that I could drive it in the morning and was hundreds of miles from home. Another situation is when my LED dash lights go out or become nearly invisible. I can't read anything on the dashboard that displays mileage or anything else. Can make it difficult for driving and safety concerns. Also, my blind spot detection quit working and has caused problems detecting cars and anything else while driving or backing up. Another issue is my side airbag came open by itself but has not launched (thankfully). I cannot repair it on my own. These are expensive issues. I had already replaced all of my tires due to the tires that had been on it kept going flat and the sensors stopped working.

All I did was take it to get new rear calipers and an alignment and when I left the shop I got a light on the dashboard that says service traction control service stabilitrak and sometimes the abs goes on and off and sometimes the airbag light comes on and turns off. I can't drive over 1.5rpm and it's jumping when trying to accelerate. I'm not getting codes. I changed the brake pedal sensor to see if that works but no. Mechanic can't seem to figure out the issue without me spending more and more money on it. I've only had it roughly a year and half. I've put alot of money into this vehichle.

I RECENTLY GOT THIS CAR FROM A LICENSED DEALERSHIP AND I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES. I THE CAR HAS BROKEN DOWN TWICE AND HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 3 TIMES. 2 OF WHICH WERE FOR THE SAME ISSUE. WHILE DRIVING YOU EITHER FEEL A CONSTANT PULL THEN ITS ALMOST LIKE IT RELEASES AND THEN IT SPEEDS UP. THEN I HAVE A HARD TIME SLOWING IT DOWN. WHEN THE CAR BROKE DOWN THE TEMP GAUGE DROPPED ALL THE WAY DOWN, AC STOPPED WORKING AND WHEN I PULLED OVER AND STOPPED THE CAR IT WOULD START AGAIN. AFTER 30 MIN IT STARTED BUT IMMEDIATELY REV UP IN RPMS TO MAX AND WOULDN'T STOP TILL I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. THEY CAR HAS BEEN IN AS I WAS TOLD IT WAS FIXED BUT IT STILL REVS UP RPMS HARD AND LONG, WHEN IT SHIFTS IT JUMPS, WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE FEELS AS IF ITS LOOSING POWER ,THE BATTER LEVELS CONSTANTLY FLUCTUATE AND THE STEERING WHEEL FEELS LIKE ITS TRYING TO JUMP OUT OF MY HANDS. JOLTS ME LIKE I'VE HIT A POT HOLE BUT THERE IS NO POT HOLE. ELECTRICAL ISSUES AS FAR AS JUST BARLEY PUTTING THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND THE LIGHTS DO SOME STUFF AND ALL THE DOORS LOCK, AND ITS SET TO LOCK WHEN UP TO SPEED. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS FIXED BUT IT STILL FEELING LIKE ITS PULLING AND THEN SPEEDS UP. RPMS STILL JUMP UP HARD AND LONG. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND EVERYONE KEEPS TELLING ME ITS FIXED BUT IT IS NOT. THIS VEHICLE WAS MENTIONED TO BE A FAMILY CAR BUT I CANT TRUST ME OR MY FAMILY IS SAFE. IT WAS MADE 07/14 BUT HAS A 2015 VIN NUMBER. I WAS TOLD THEN THERE WAS A SECOND SENOR THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HERE I AM NOW IN NOVEMBER (11/20/19) WITH THE SERVICE AIR BAG NOTIFCATION ON MY DASH BOARD AGAIN FOR THE THIRD TIME. I'M IN THE PROCESS OF CONTACTING CHEVROLET ONCE MORE ABOUT THIS. I RESERACH THE RECALL BUT THERE IS NO RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE. I'M UNSURE IF ANYONE ELSE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. WE HAVE 2 ISSUES. 1ST WAS IN JULY 2019, OUR POWER STEERING PUMP WENT OUT WITH ON 60,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND WE WERE TOLD THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE TRAVERSES. 2ND CONCERN IS IN SEPTEMBER 2019 OUR VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION CAPABILITIES ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE DISPLAY SAID HAVE STABILITY CONTROL SERVICED. WE HAD TROUBLE MAKING IT HOME AND AFTER I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF FOR A FEW HOURS IT THEN RAN FINE. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL INSTANCES THAT HAVE INVOLVED SERVICE STABILITREK/SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS COMING ON ALONG WITH ENGINE POWER REDUCING WARNING. I'VE LOST POWER AND HAD SPEED DRAMATICALLY REDUCE PUTTING ME IN DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. WHEN THIS HAPPENS I AM NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE AND VEHICLE SLOWS TO A STOP. FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED I WAS ON A CITY STREET GOING ABOUT 40 MPH, SECOND TIME I HAD JUST GOTTEN OFF THE FREEWAY AND WAS MAKING A RIGHT TURN. I LOST STEERING IN ADDITION TO THE OTHER PROBLEMS MENTIONED. I HAVE HAD IT TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE AND IT WILL BE GOING BACK TOMORROW AS MY HUSBAND HAD THIS HAPPEN AGAIN TONIGHT WHEN EXITING THE FREEWAY. THE THINGS THE DEALERSHIP HAS DONE HAVE NOT RESOLVED THE ISSUE. FIRST TIME I TOOK IT THEY SAID A HOSE HAD COME LOOSE AND ENGINE MOUNT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE SECOND TIME I TOOK IT THEY REPLACED A SENSOR. THIRD TIME I TOOK IT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY CODES INDICATING WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND THE CAR DID NOT ACT UP WHEN THEY TOOK IT OUT FOR A DRIVE. THIS COMPLAINT INVOLVES THE BRITAX B SAFE 35 ELITE INFANT CAR SEAT AND THE RED RELEASE BUTTON FOUND ON TOP OF THE SEAT WHERE AN INFANT'S FEET/LEGS REST. MY DAUGHTER JUST TURNED 1 A FEW WEEKS AGO AND IS ABLE TO RELEASE THE STRAPS IN THIS CAR SEAT HERSELF. SHE RESTS HER FEET ON THE RED BUTTON AND WITH THE ROAD MOVEMENT OF THE CAR AND HER WIGGLING AROUND, SHE IS ABLE TO LOOSEN THE SEAT ENOUGH TO GET HER ARM OUT OF THE STRAP. IT DOES NOT TAKE MUCH FORCE WHATSOEVER TO PUSH DOWN ON THE BUTTON TO CAUSE THE STRAPS TO LOOSEN. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME SHE HAS LOOSENED HERSELF FROM THIS SEAT. THE BUTTON IS FULLY EXPOSED WITH NO COVERING IN AN AREA THAT CHILDREN REST THEIR FEET. AFTER VISITING SEVERAL CAR SEAT RETAILERS, I NOTED THAT BRITAX B SAFE INFANT SEAT WAS THE ONLY CAR SEAT THAT DID NOT HAVE A COVERING OVER THE RELEASE BUTTON. I HAVE PHOTOS OF THOSE CAR SEATS IF NEEDED. EVEN BRITAX'S OWN CONVERTIBLE SEATS AT LEAST HAVE A LIP OVER THE BUTTON TO PREVENT CHILDREN FROM RELEASING IT. EVERY SINGLE CAR SEAT I CAME ACROSS EITHER HAD THE RELEASE BUTTON UNDER THE PADDING, HAD A PLASTIC LIP THAT EXTENDED OVER THE BUTTON, OR WAS POSITIONED IN A WAY THAT A CHILD COULD NOT RELEASE IT (MUCH LESS AN INFANT). THIS CLEARLY SEEMS TO BE A DESIGN AND SAFETY FEATURE THAT WAS OVERLOOKED BY BRITAX. BRITAX CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLD ME MY DAUGHTER WAS TOO TALL FOR THE SEAT YET SHE FALLS UNDER THE HEIGHT AND WEIGHT REQUIREMENTS OF 32 INCHES AND/OR 35 LBS. THIS IS MY 4TH BRITAX CAR SEAT PURCHASE AND I HAVE BEEN IMPRESSED WITH THEIR BRAND UP UNTIL NOW. THE 3 OTHER SEATS I OWN ALL HAVE THE RELEASE BUTTON UNDER THE SEAT PADDING WHERE AN INFANT/CHILD CANNOT EASILY GET TO IT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY, AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT IN APRIL 2017, MAY 2017 DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT GOES OUT. VEHICLE IS ONLY TWO (2) YEAR OLD AND THE HEAD LIGHTS SHOULD NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED EVERY TWO YEARS. THE STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AFTER RETURNING TO TRUCK FOUR HOURS LATER. WHENEVER I ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE AND RIDE BECAME UNSTABLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, A RODENT CHEWED THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID RESERVOIR HOSE AND THE FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLY WIRES. THE WINDSHIELD WASHER AND FOG LIGHT FAILED TO OPERATE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WOULD BE NO ASSISTANCE OFFERED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED A SECOND TIME. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,700.

ON SEPT. 17 2016, WHILE DRIVING ALONG THE INTERSTATE AT 70 MPH, THE CAR'S ENGINE SLOWED DRAMATICALLY AND STABILITY TRACK, TRACTION CONTROL, AND SLOW ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS BEGAN TO FLASH. THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I MANAGED TO GET THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE AND TURNED IT OFF. I CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE IMMEDIATELY AND THE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME TO TURN OFF THE TRACTION CONTROL. THERE WAS A PUNGENT SMELL ALL INSIDE THE CAR OF GAS AND OTHER FUMES, BUT I DID NOT SEE ANY FLUIDS LEAKING FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME TO START THE CAR WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL OFF. I ROLLED DOWN ALL OF THE WINDOWS TO LESSEN THE ODOR. THE CAR STARTED AS USUAL AND I STARTED BACK DOWN THE HIGHWAY. WITHIN 3 MILES THE CAR STOPPED AGAIN, THE SAME WARNING LIGHTS BEGAN FLASHING. I HAD LOST SEVERAL GALLONS OF FUEL IN 3 MILES. I GOT THE CAR TO A PARKING LOT OFF THE INTERSTATE AND IT DIED AND WOULD NOT TURN BACK OVER. WHEN I TRIED TO GET IT TO START, THE IGNITION GOT STUCK AND WOULD NOT STOP TRYING TO TURN OVER. THE CAR WAS LOSING FUEL AND WOULD NOT RUN AT ALL. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS A FUEL PUMP ISSUE AND THEY REPLACED THE PART SEVERAL DAYS LATER. ON NOV. 11, 2016, AS I DROVE TO WORK THIS MORNING, I WAS AT A RED LIGHT AND WHEN I PUSHED THE ACCELERATOR AND NOTHING HAPPENED. THE CAR BEGAN FLASHING THE EXACT SAME WARNING CODES AS IN SEPT. THE CAR WOULD GO ABOUT 5-10 MPH AND I WAS STRANDED IN A 6 LANE INTERSECTION. I TURNED OFF THE TRACTION CONTROL AND MANAGED TO GET THE CAR INTO A PARKING LOT, ONCE AGAIN. I AM VERY LUCKY THAT I HAVE NOT HAD A SEVERE ACCIDENT WHEN THIS HAS OCCURRED. SOMEONE IS EVENTUALLY GOING TO GET SERIOUSLY HURT OR KILLED WHEN THIS HAPPENS. ALSO, THIS SAME VEHICLE'S BACKUP CAMERA WILL TURN ON WHILE I AM DRIVING DOWN THE STREET. WHEN IT TURNS ON, THE CAR SWITCHES OUT OF DRIVE, WHILE I AM DRIVING FORWARD. DRIVING MY 2015 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE ON AN EXPRESSWAY AT 65 TO 70 MPH WHEN SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SLOW DOWN EVEN WHEN PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR. THE SPEED CONTINUED DECREASING WHEN WE NOTICED THAT THE RADIO HAD ALSO SHUT DOWN. FORTUNATELY WE WERE ABLE TO MAKE OUR WAY TO THE BREAKDOWN LANE WITHOUT ANY MISHAP. THAT'S WHEN WE NOTICE THE ENGINE WAS ALSO COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. WE WERE FORTUNATE THAT WE WERE ABLE TO PULL OVER WITHOUT CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM AND WAS PUZZLED THAT THEY WERE NOT TOO CONCERNED ABOUT THE PROBLEM. MY WIFE IS NOT CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE NOTICED THAT COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN REPORTING A SIMILAR PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY PROVIDED ME WITH A LOANER IN THE MEANTIME. I WAS TOLD THAT MOST LIKELY THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FIND ANY PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE. THIS IS NOT MUCH CONSOLATION, TO US WHEN WE WILL BE RETURNING TO FLORIDA IN THE NEAR FUTURE AND WONDER WHETHER THIS PROBLEM WILL OCCUR AGAIN WHEN WE ARE ON EXPRESSWAYS WITH FIVE TO SIX LANES, ALL GOING 70 MPH OR MORE AND WITH LITTLE ROOM TO GET OUT OF THE WAY TO SAFETY. LOOKING AT OTHER SIMILAR ISSUES, WHAT IS MENTIONED AS THE PROBLEM COULD BE THE SWITCH, THE BATTERY OR THE ALTERNATOR, OR WIRING TO ALL THESE COMPONENTS. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THIS ISSUE CANNOT BE DIAGNOSED AND REMEDIED IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT.

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2015 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE 2LT IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE AT THE SPEED LIMIT. THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY SHOOK SIDE TO SIDE SEVERAL TIMES, THEN SHUT OFF ENGINE POWER ABRUPTLY AND LURCHED FORWARD AND BACK 5 TIMES HARD ENOUGH TO THROW HER INTO THE SEAT BELT. ABOUT THE LURCHING, SHE SAID IT WAS LIKE THE CAR WAS TRYING TO BRAKE TO A STOP. SHE HAD A WHOLE DASHBOARD FULL OF LIGHTS, AND SHE SAW A STATUS MESSAGE IN PLACE OF THE ODOMETER THAT SAID SOMETHING ABOUT THE TRACTION CONTROL TURNING OFF. SHE WAS IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE WITHOUT ANY SHOULDERS, AND COULDN'T IMMEDIATELY GET OFF THE ROAD, BUT THE ENGINE POWER RETURNED, SO SHE TOOK THE FIRST FREEWAY EXIT AND WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR. AFTER SHE RESTARTED THE CAR, IT SEEMED TO BE NORMAL, SO SHE DROVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT IT IS WORKING PROPERLY NOW, SO THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING.
