The car has 45,000 and started burning oil. The car is in brand new condition and well under mileage for an issue of such to be occurring. Took to car dealership where purchased and was told $8,500 fix!

Exhaust started to rattle, now it is a loud clangy exhaust. Clearly a part has separated or there are holes in it. Dealership told me my car has a repair out for that for years 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023 but NOT my year, 2020.

For the last year or so my car keeps making this really loud noise and it gets worse within hours/days. We have had it in 3 maybe even 4 different shops to have an exhaust fixed. One shop said that a part of it was never secured like it should have been and they fixed it. Every time we have had it fixed it does it again within a couple weeks/month. I did some research and saw a bunch of people are having the same issue with theirs.

Engine light came on couple weeks ago. Code is p0420 so I did some research and inspected the exhaust system and found the weld on the support bracket of the exhaust pipes was cracked and wore a hole between the pipe and the bracket. There are others that have the same problem with different year models Chevrolet traverses. Mine is a 2020 Chevrolet traverse LT

Leaking exhaust noise at start up began around 9/22/25. Noise became louder over the following week. Check engine light came on morning of 9/24/25. Immediately took it to local GM dealership for inspection. Dealership first said it was a cracked front exhaust pipe at the bracket and then they called back and said rear pipe at the bracket was broken also the whole system needed to be replaced because the brackets were not separate but welded directly to the pipe. The estimate was over $1300. Dealership then said the error coded was probably because of the exhaust pipe and catalytic converter and that they require replacement. I discovered there are already recalls and special coverage for the same issue on the 2019, 2021 and 2022 year models of this vehicle. I contacted GM and they acknowledged the problem in other model years before and after but said there isn't enough complaints for this model year. This is a known problem and design flaw. This needs to be addressed by GM immediately. NONE of the welds have held on any parts of the exhaust system or the catalytic converter.

Due to exhaust bracket failure where converter with muffler and side down pipe needs replaced. This was diagnosed at the Chevy dealer and appointment for repair is made. The exhaust suddenly became very loud so I took it to the dealership. There were no messages or warning lamps.

Rattling noise when starting vehicle started occurring a year ago. Dealership diagnosed a broken bracket weld that holds the exhaust pipes in place. Dealership cut off bracket. A year later there is a hole in one of the exhaust pipes because of the broken bracket and a check engine light comes on. There is a recall for the 2018-2023 Traverse models EXCEPT the 2020 year for the exact same issue. Why is every other covered but not the 2020? Why do I have to pay for a known GM issue that causes a hole in the exhaust pipes from their crappy bracket welds? This is an emissions issue yet we are being denied by our dealership.

I own two 2020 Chevrolete Traverse. I am currently dealing with my second one that has an exhaust leak at the forward joining exhaust bracket. This is a poor design for a hanging exhaust and is a known issue for the 2019 and 2021 models, but not the 2020. These other years have a special coverage to repair the forward exhaust but not the 2020 traverse because there have not been enough reports on it. I already paid out of pocket to repair my other 2020 traverse with this known problem and I refuse to do it again because of a design flaw. This needs to be addressed by Chevrolete immediately.

The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, there were abnormal sounds coming from the exhaust system. The contact stated that the vehicle sounded like a motorcycle. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated, and DTC: P0171 was displayed. Additionally, the contact stated that there were exhaust fumes entering the cabin of the vehicle. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that there were cracks in the exhaust pipe and the catalytic converter pipe at Bank 2 and Bank 1 that needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin Number: PIP5681A. The contact had called the dealer to advise that there was a bulletin covering the cracks on the exhaust and the catalytic converter pipes, but was informed that the cracks on the pipes were on the wrong side and that the vehicle was not covered under warranty. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,045.

The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle made an abnormally loud rattling sound. The contact stated that the failure also occurred upon starting the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the mounting bracket on the front exhaust pipe had separated from the pipe and might develop a hole in the exhaust pipe. The dealer determined that the front exhaust pipe mounting bracket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The dealer notified the manufacturer of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.

The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the catalytic converter was leaking and there was a blockage in the catalytic converter. The contact was also informed that coolant was leaking into the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that upon lifting the hood, there was a rodent nest near the engine cover. The contact related the failure to GM Technical Service Bulletin Number: PIP5681C (Exhaust leak, Lean Codes, Rattle Noise, or Catalytic Converter Failure Codes); however, the vehicle was not covered under the TSB. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and later informed the contact that the case was closed. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. Receiving a persistent “Shift to Park” message, after the car has been placed in Park. This causes an inability to turn off my engine completely and is draining my battery. As a temp fix, I've had to wiggle the shifter many times, turn the car on and off, place the car from park into drive many times to get the car to realize it's in Park. Scheduled with the dealership and referenced the TSB that was issued for this specific safety issue (in writing). Brought the car in for the repair and the technician and intake person were both aware of this major problem and have seen other Chevy's with the same issue. Repair is $809.00 for a shifter assembly. I recently had to replace my transmission (2020 Chevrolet Traverse) due to shuddering from manufacturer's fault in assembly process. Now I'm having to replace the transmission in my mother's 2018 Chevrolet Colorado that has less than 65k miles. These issues cause power loss while driving. I was in the middle of passing another vehicle when my vehicle experienced power loss. This is a HUGE safety issue, not only for my family but many others that I know that are experiencing or have experienced the same issues. I have 3 family members that have had to have the same repairs as well as over 40 acquaintances. I had assumed with the thousands others that I've chatted with on facebook and reddit that this would have been a recall, sadly, GM/Chevrolet doesn't seem to care that it is their fault that their consumers are having to spend THOUSANDS of dollars to correct an issue that leaves the manufacturer at fault. With the thounsands experiencing the same issue, i feel that those that have already had to spend money should be reimbursed.

Severe transmission shudder, issues accelerating. Torque converter failure is very common with this vehicle, even with following routine scheduled maintenance. There is no engine or MIL light on and symptoms appeared out of nowhere. Failing to be able to safely accelerate can cause accidents, putting lives and property at risk. Looking information up online will show that this is a very common issue with this model year and transmission.

The alternator failed randomly while driving down the road. The vehicle only has 26500 miles. There was no lights on prior to the car stalling. When it failed my whole car started to flash every warning at the screen to me. My car then stopped working and I barely was able to coast into a parking lot. Luckily I was not on the highway and no one was behind me when the car stopped working. The problem was confirmed by the dealer it was the alternator. What sucks though is that the alternator killed the battery. The battery is not covered by warranty so it is $507 to replace a battery.

No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the starter. The vehicle was repaired. The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that the "Shift to Park" message was displayed on the instrument panel while attempting to park the vehicle. The contact also stated that the ESC (Electronic Stability Control) warning light was displayed while at a complete stop, and an audible chime was heard during the failure. In addition, the START/STOP function failed after removing the foot from the brake pedal while at a stop light. The vehicle shut off without warning as the contact attempted to depress the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that a motorist assisted with pushing the vehicle to the side of the road. The contact called for Roadside Assistance and a Police Officer assisted with jumpstarting the vehicle. The Police Officer then escorted the contact to a nearby gas station where the contact purchased a new battery. Initially after the battery replacement, the contact experienced no failures with the vehicle; however, the shift to park failure had recently returned. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.

Car battery drained after it sat unattended for 3 days. A jump-start started the car normally and it functioned normally until turned off. Once turned off, the hazard lights would randomly turn off/on, the door locks would randomly lock/unlock, and the parking lights would randomly come on. Replacing the primary battery had no effect. Outcome: Due to seemingly poor design, a drain pipe passes over the BCM (Body Control Module) and drips water directly into it. The mechanic indicated that this is a known issue to Chevrolet, but I do not see any information in the NHTSA about it. Hefty replacement part/labor cost.

When the vehicle is shifted into "Park" the information system reports an error code "shift into park" and prevents the vehicle from being turned off. On the opposite side of the spectrum, there are times when the vehicle fails to start with error code displayed "shift into park" even though the vehicle is infact in park. The error code is sometimes resolved when the shifter levers forward facing button is actuated multiple times. This false error code is a grave safety concern as it build complacency within the operators. This could potentially lead to an operator ignoring a true "shit into park" error code as a false one and exiting the vehicle while it is actually in gear or neutral and cause death or injury to an innocent bystander or the operator! Please investigate this error as it has apparently existed and been well documented in the Chevrolet Traverse since at least 2018. Yet Chevrolet still fails to acknowledge or resolve it!

Failed catalytic converter. I have had this part repaired multiple times and there is still a leaking issue. I have receipts from both auto repair shops and the dealership showing that this is an ongoing issue.

My 2020 traverse has the exact same issue as the 2019, and 2022 models, both of which have active recalls. I contacted Chevy and their response to me was that there was no recall on my model.

I took my vehicle to the shop for noise while driving. It was diagnosed as a cracked flex pipe. Upon research, the 2019 and 2021 models had recalls for the same issue, but not 2020. I did find a bulletin from gm including all models of traverse stating the cause could be a faulty weld. My vehicle looks the exact same as the bulletin. This is a safety issue as a hole in the exhaust can cause exhaust to backflow into the cabin. I'm very lucky and thankful me and my kids have not yet been medically affected.

Vehicle all of a sudden started sound loud when accelerating on a trip home. Vehicle is 58K miles. Upon investigation, the vehicle was loud when starting as well. Mechanic determined front pipe under driver side had rusted and broken. Was told there is no recall, not covered under purchased extended warranty - $600 to repair. This should not happen on a vehicle this age. There are similar complaints about the same issue for the 2020 model.

My rear exhaust manifold cracked, was told there should have been have been a recall on them bc they are defective. GM is covering 2019 and 2021 Models, but not 2020 models. I had to replace my alternator at the Chevrolet dealership 6 months ago. In the last month, have had the shift to park message come up on my car and that has something to do with the transmission.

Alternator failed within 3 years and only after 45,000 miles. GM refuses to take any liability even though several other people experiencing same defect and part rated for over twice that length of period.

I was driving down the street and my car started to randomly jerk. When I pushed the gas the car got slower. Once in a safe place I pulled over and sat there for a few minutes. When I accelerated again the car had a sound like the car was speeding up, but there was no speed. It drifted. So I crossed the traffic light and pulled over again. I turned the car off. I waited for about 5 minutes, turned the car on and that's when the engine light came on. I had to drive slower to make it home. Once I made it home I put the car in Reverse and noticed that my back up camera was not working as well. I am so frustrated.

BRAKE FAILURE ON A 2 DAY OLD CHEVY TRAVERSE SEQUENCE OF EVENTS . . . 1.I PURCHASED A CHEVROLET TRAVERSE FROM LAWRENCE CHEVROLET ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 14, 2020 AND TOOK DELIVERY AT ABOUT 5:00PM. 2.WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 16, 2020, WE EXPERIENCED A LOW SPEED BRAKE FAILURE. THIS OCCURRED WHILE ON THE WAY TO DULLES AIRPORT AT ABOUT 6:00PM. THE BRAKES WERE SLOWLY APPLIED AND THEY DID NOT RESPOND. THE BRAKES WERE THEN PRESSED HARD AND THEY DID NOT RESPOND. I (MIKE) REACHED OVER TO TRY SHIFTING THE CAR INTO PARK BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL AND THE CAR DRIFTED AT A VERY LOW SPEED, 'A WALKING SPEED,' AND INTO THE BACK OF A TRACTOR TRAILER. WE HAD VERY AMPLE SPACE TO STOP HOWEVER THE BRAKES SIMPLY DID NOT RESPOND. MINIMAL DAMAGE OCCURRED TO THE VEHICLE'S FRONT. When I put my car in park and turn it off I get an error message that I need to "Shift to Park". It shows in the dash that it is in park but my radio, and lights stay on. I have to restart my car and put it in park, reverse, or neutral and try to put it in park again. I takes several try's to make the error message go away.

On 10/12/24, I received an error code that my charging system needed serviced. I was about an hour from my house when I saw the error. I immediately turned on the voltage display and it said the voltage was 11.8. As I was driving home I had an additional error message that said entering battery saver mode. Luckily, I made it home before I was left stranded on the side of the road in the middle of the night. With only 57,323 miles on my car, I had NO idea it would be the alternator. I took my car to Auto Zone to have the battery tested and they said it was fine. I had my mechanic check on Monday 10/14/24, and it turns out the alternator was indeed bad. S

When putting my Traverse in park, the car will intermittently say "shift to park", causing me to have to put it back ion reverse, put it back in park and hope it works. The car will not shut off if it says it's in park, causing you to be stuck in there. Also could cause it to not start if the vehicle thinks it's not in park. To note as well, there is already a recall out for 2018-2019 chevy traverse models, along with others. This needs to be extended to newer models as well.

The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal following a traffic stop, the vehicle failed to gain forward momentum. The contact stated the vehicle failed to exceed 15 MPH. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal and the engine failed to rev as designed. The contact stated that the check engine, parking brake and stabili-trak warning lights were illuminated. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the failure as insufficient fuel entering the engine from the fuel pump. The mechanic determined that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The contact was advised by the mechanic that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V639000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) and referred the contact to a dealer. The contact called a local dealer and was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at undisclosed speeds and making a left or right turn, the vehicle was not stable and was moving unintendedly. On another occasion, while having maintenance service performed on the vehicle, the mechanic advised the contact that the rear toe links had rotted out due to corrosion and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the rear toe links needed to be replaced due to the corrosion. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 44,036.

Took vehicle in for yearly inspection. Vehicle had 39950 miles on it. Vehicle would not pass inspection because of rear suspension adjustment link which could lead to accident. This problem is well known to service techs who inform owners this is a recurring issue at 40000 miles.

Brought the vehicle in to dealer for oil change, and tire rotation. Dealer found that the rear toe links on the Traverse were corroded. It only has 36970 miles and is not covered under warranty which expired 36,000. This is a recall on numerous GM vehicles and GM should cover and issue recall on the traverse as well.

Drivers seat belt not able to click and stay also passengers seat belt is hard to get it to click in. The second row on left side seat belt won’t stay clicked in.

The driver's seat belt would not "buckle up" or latch into the buckle. This issue started a couple of months ago but it just seemed to be stiffer than the other belts. Then suddenly it started to release while driving. Then we were not able to get it to work at all. The dealership was able to get the vehicle in immediately and replaced the seat belt assembly. My safety and the safety of any of my family driving this vehicle was a risk of a malfunctioning seat belt. I don't know if it would have held if I were to get into an accident and I'm concerned about the passenger seat as well. Other than it being a little difficult to buckle up there were no other warning signs. The dealership replaced the part on 5/15/23.

The contact owned a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 - 40 MPH, the contact rear-ended another vehicle. The driver's side front seat belt pre-tensioner was loose and did not restrain the contact in the seat upon impact. The air bags were deployed upon impact. The contact suffered bruising on her chest, a lacerated thumb, and a fractured elbow from the air bag deployment. Medical attention was received. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 25,500.

WITH A SIDE WIND IT'S REALLY PRONOUNCED. THE WRITE UP PERSONAL AT THE DEALER HAD HEARD OF THIS ISSUE BUT COULD NET FIND ANY WRITTEN INFO ANYWHERE. THE SALESMAN HAD ALSO HEARD OF THE PROBLEM ON BOTH THE TRAVERSE AND EQUINOX. KIND OF SURPRISES ME WHEN I HIT A RIDGED SECTION AT HIGH SPEED. MY QUESTION IS WILL THIS FAIR ON A SNOWY MICHIGAN HIGHWAY.

When I place the car in reverse, the rear view image does not show on the display screen. This is a recurring issue when it’s approximately 75-85 degrees out. I did some research and found information on where you have done a recall of the 2020 Acadia for the exact same issue, requiring a replacement of the coaxial cable. I wanted to let you know the same issue is happening in the 2020 Traverse.

A few months ago I was driving and without any warning the steering wheel would lock up and I couldn’t turn it at all. I had to use my strength to wiggle it to unlock it. It happened several times on busy roads and highways. It’s currently at the dealership for the past 2 months because there is a short and the steering gear box needs to be replaced but the part is on back order with no date of when it’ll become available. I obviously can’t drive it due to the steering locking up and that it’s a danger to not only myself and my family but other drivers on the road. Anyone could have been seriously injured or killed had it locked up and caused an accident. It would happen no matter what speed I was going.

19 Sep 2025. The headlights turn off at night while driving. With the switch in the "auto" position, I turned the switch to "off" then back to "auto" and they came back on for a short period of time. They turned off again, I turned them to "on", they came back on for a brief period. I had to keep switching the headlight switch from "on" to "off" and back to "on" every 20 to 30 seconds (estimated) to keep driving. The dealership could not schedule a diagnosis until 8 Oct 2025. This is a potentially fatal issue.

I called dealership according to them just to look at vehicle its going to cost me $275.. For everything else $1,100. After reading all the complaints on this issue why has manufacture done anything. This vehicle has completely lost power and stalled on the freeway twice. The first time, I was with my wife and children when it happened on the highway. The vehicle stalled in the far right lane of traffic and it wouldn't restart. We had to risk our lives and push the vehicle off the freeway and onto the shoulder while other vehicles raced by. We are fortunate that we did not die or become seriously injured. The second time the vehicle stalled on the highway, my wife was crossing the highway and the vehicle once again lost all power and shut-off. She is fortunate that she was not killed in a T-bone collision. The first time, there was a dash warning stating to SERVICE ESC. The second time, there was no warning lights or dash illumination of a problem beforehand. The vehicle has been taken to the Chevrolet dealership twice. They ran a diagnostic and stated the starter was pulling too many amps which caused the vehicles fuse block to blow, resulting in total failure of all vehicle components. Total repair cost for first repair was approximately 1,000 dollars. We are awaiting the service advisors diagnostic for this second incident. The first repair is covered under a 2 year unlimited mile warranty so hopefully when they replace the starter and fuse block this time, they will also find the root cause of the problem. I feel as if our lives and well-being are in jeopardy since the first incident and we no longer feel safe driving this vehicle which has stalled twice during highway conditions. I am confident that we will no longer be GM consumers due to these life risking incidents.

The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle jerked, with an abnormal sound coming from underneath the vehicle. In addition, the contact stated the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to Firestone, where the contact was provided DTC: P0420 (Catalytic converter was fractured and punctured, and a bracket was missing). The vehicle was not repaired. The contact then took the vehicle to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the muffler was punctured and not the catalytic converter. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact then took the vehicle to a Valvoline Center to be diagnosed and DTC: P0420; was retrieved. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The contact stated that the vehicle was vibrating abnormally while driven with an abnormal rattling sound coming from underneath the vehicle. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to Manufacturer's Recall Numbers: N212356540 and N222385510; however, the vehicle was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the catalytic convertor had failed needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was informed that there were no recalls associated with the VIN. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000.

On [XXX], while driving, the steering wheel suddenly became very stiff, making it extremely difficult to turn right or left. A warning message appeared on the dashboard that read: "Reduced Steering Assist." I immediately took the vehicle to a certified dealership, where it has now been sitting for over two months. Despite multiple follow-ups, I have not been provided with a clear repair date. When I contacted the manufacturer, I was informed that the required part is currently on backorder, but again, no estimated time of resolution has been given. The car displayed a message on the board advising the following: "Steering assist is reduced, drive with care" right after the message popped out my steering wheel locked and I couldn't turn, and move the car to a safe place was very hard, almost had a crash. I was able to park, and turned the engine off. When turned back on the message disappeared and turned on again. Next day, no message, the car was running fine and after 8 miles of drive did the same and it required towing.

According to General Motors, the new GM Special Coverage (N222385510) is only applicable the 2021 model year of the Chevy Traverse. The condition described includes the separation of the front mounting bracket from the front exhaust pipe. This happened to prior year models and are covered under a recall too. All years I searched as well as my mechanic. My vehicle is a 2020 and the same issue is present but has not been covered under a recall.

Due to a death in the family, we were traveling back from a funeral. We were miles away from another freeway change when a deer came from the ditch and darted in front of my vehicle. With no time to react, I braced for impact. Going at a high rate of speed, I was bracing for airbags. At the time of collision all the safety features engaged. The seatbelts locked in place, hazard lights turned on, and my vehicle was slowing, but my airbags did not deploy. They did however release a white powder substance. I was safely able to get my vehicle off to the side of the road and evaluate the situation. My husband was moaning and grunting in the passenger seat. My three children are scared, frightened and worried. As we were attempting to unbuckle and exit the vehicle to assess the damage, we were unable to free ourselves. As the seatbelts locked, and had no wiggle room to disengage the latch. We had to move the seats back, to allow room to unbuckle. With the impact we received and the size of the deer struck. The insurance has deemed the vehicle a total loss. After many questions, and multiple attempts to get answers. All I have is the airbags should have deployed, with the evidence through the car with the white powder at airbag locations. As I thank to not be as injured as we could have been. Having my whole family walk away with minor bruises and many aches. My heart is broken, I am shattered and unable to process the incident. Having put so much faith in a vehicle to protect myself and others who I love. I feel jaded, lied too, and unable to trust car safety. My heart is unable to let this go and have others being in danger with no airbag protection in an accident.

March 30, 2022 I was driving on a highway with no other vehicles nearby and I heard a sudden loud pop. At first I thought is was a tire but no pressure changes on the screen. Few minutes later I heard a plinking noise and realized it was above my head and my sunroof had shattered. Luckily my visor was pulled across so I didn't have glass raining on my head while driving. Brought it into my dealership who sent me to a auto body glass division. The glass was on back order for 10 days and repaired on 4/12/22. I paid my $500 deductible through my car insurance. My vehicle has a front sunroof and a back moonroof that does not open. On May 15, 2023 I was driving on a country road and again there was a sudden pop. Again thought it was a tire but there was a gravel truck about 5 cars ahead of me but my sister was in the front passenger seat and did not see a rock or gravel. Rear moonroof had 2 small cracks on top but luckily again my visor was closed. We had a 30 min ride home so we tried to wrap plastic wrap around and over it but the wind got underneath so the hardware store told us to duct tape it and it worked well for about a week until the roof completely caved in on May 24 th. I called my dealership and the claim was filed for replacement with same glass company but now the part is on back order until mid July!!! I paid $300 for my car insurance and my dealership is keeping it and I traded it in for a new 2023 Chevy Traverse which I paid $19,000 for and hoping the glass will not do this again on my new car. Grateful nobody was hurt but I feel this a safety problem that needs to be reported.

Cajun Red Paint Color has defect. Paint began showing white specks where paint is chipping off after only having vehicle for 3 months. Continues to get worse, mostly on hood of Traverse but also on sides.

I was in a collision at 60 mph and flipped through the air without hitting the roof and landed on my wheels. I had a car doing 80 lost control as he was passing me sideways and into my lane. The front on the car was completely unrecognizable z no side impact or sudden stop.

I reached between the driver seat and center console to retrieve my keys. When I pulled my hand back up something on the seat sliced my hand open and I needed 5 stitches. After looking closely at both the front seats (driver and passenger) there is a very sharp piece between the seat and console on both seats. Chevrolet corporate was contacted and they said to take it to a dealer so it doesn’t happen again. My vehicle is scheduled to be inspected by a dealer on 12/08/21. 1. Sharp piece on seat and yes it’s available for inspection 2. Hand was cut when reaching between seat and center console resulting in 5 stitches. 3. Chevy corporate said thanks for letting them know and advised taking it to a dealer so it “doesn’t happen again.” The local dealer scheduled me for an inspection but did not say whether or not this is something they’ve heard before. 4. The vehicle will be inspected by a dealer on 12/08/21 (the soonest they had available). 5. No warnings/messages prior to incident

Ive got this vehicle on 5/12/2025 and all of this need to be done CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACEMENT. DURING INSPECTION FOUND LOUD EXHAUST ON STARTUP. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION FOUND BANK 1 CATALYTIC CONVERTER CRACKED CAUSING EXHAUST LEAK. BOTH EXHAUST FRONT PIPES DAMAGED AS WELL(BROKEN MOUNTING BRACKETS BETWEEN BOTH PIPES) . RECOMMEND REPLACEMENT OF CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND BOTH EXHAUST FRONT PIPESBRAKE SYSTEM FLUID EXCHANGE-PERFORMED PRESSURIZED FLUID EXCHANGE OF OLD BRAKE FLUID, REMOVED MOISTURE AND AIR CONTAMINATION FROM BRAKE SYSTEM. INSTALLED NEW DOT SPECIFIC FLUID TO MEET MANUFACTURE SPECIFICATIONSAUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SERVICE FLUID EXCHANGECF - COOLING SYSTEM SERVICE 6830/5881-01 INCLUDES FLUSH COOLING SYSTEM, PRESSURE TEST, CHECK HOSES, CAP AND CHECK CONNECTION. INSTALL COOLING SYSTEM CORROSION CONTROL KIT Drain old Transfer case fluid and replace with new fluid REAR DIFFERENTIAL SERVICE This should have been done when the dealership got the vehicle, and it should be GM or BERGER responsibility. I am sure this was an issue to begin with.

Cracked exhaust & bracket back in 2023 causing a loud rattling noise. Now catalytic converter is cracked & gasket leak. Dealer does have notes that it was cracked & they noticed it in 2023 at 46k miles & that converter has now cracked causing engine light to turn on. Car does not speed up properly & GM only wants to cover 30 percent of cost.

Purchased the vehicle in 2024, the vehicle recently has been notifying “shift to park” when vehicle is on park and ignition is turned off, the notification stays on and alerting, so I am unable to leave the vehicle. I must turn the vehicle on and off again, while moving the shifting lever back and forth from drive to park, this must be done a minimum of four times before it reads the lever in park position. It’s a safety hazard because, the vehicle cannot be left on shift to park and possibly roll away or drive/excel on its own. Vehicle has not been inspected at this time, when purchasing the vehicle in 2024, car fax report did not indicate any issue with power train. Would also like vehicle to be inspected for missing airbags, when driving 65mph or more, you can hear and feel air coming in and out of side front left passenger side of the vehicle.

Unknown to some, but yesterday Saturday around 12:30 I was inspecting the speaker ports in the rear 3rd row passenger area and I noticed these square tabs that says airbags, also in the very middle of second row the same thing but in the rear I was removing one of the mouldings to see why the speakers were not playing, upon inspection there are no speakers and neither are there any form of side and or rear collision safety devices ( airbags) other than seatbelts. If that truck were in an accident say like a T-Bone, or rear end collision, or side rear impact no one is guaranteed safely making out without adverse affects on their bodies and health. I'm starting to wonder if this traverse was salvaged and or restored. Why are there no safety features in this truck?!!

1 year after buying my car two of my seat belts stop working one was the back driver side the clip doesn't stay in sometimes and then the middle seat and middle belt got stick in the seat and I wasn't able to pull it out to use it. I bought my car in Dec of 2020 and in October of 2024 my whole transmission went out which I never had any problems before not even a warning sign, I took it to a mechanic since it was only driving in first gear and they said it might be from the inside of the transmission when it was made they solenoids are bad.

The vehicle start stop feature is malfunctioning (I have a video) .When stopping or coming to a stop after driving through the city, at random times sometimes back to back when being stopped it goes down to 1 rpm then the auto stop feature kicks on and when it's time to depress the break to move again it malfunctions then sounds like a circular saw slicing through metal. At times you have put car in park hit engine ignition button to make it stop then wait a few seconds then start it back up. There's also a smell of strong fuel vapors coming in through the vents including defrost. Navigation stopped working ( turn by turn ) feature, also sounds as if the front end is knocking around going over speed bumps, the front right wheel has an odd rub sound that increases when accelerating. The gas also with a full tank depletes nearly within a day, and ait being a V6 should not guzzle $50 in fuel of 87 grade petrol. This thing is a rolling safety hazard. I have a wife and 6 children I transport daily. If something happens and we are injured I will sue your entire company General Motors.

Purchased the 2020 traverse on [XXX] from Basswood in Ft. Payne Alabama. Under the guise of the salesman I was assured that the vehicle was in great shape, with no issues at all, and a very clean Carfax. Well I'm new to purchasing a car via financing with a co-signer in which he was assured the vehicle was in great shape. Well unbeknownst to us my household the car was nothing of the sort. Within a few days the Start/Stop malfunctioned to the point it would not restart 98% of the time without sounding like a Demo Saw, it's a dangerous problem and there's times we smelled fuel once we were able to restart the vehicle. The front right wheel assembly looks as if it were on fire and if that's brake dust and it has a grinding whomp whomp sound when in motion,that's really not good no wonder it's hard to stop at times. The front end sounds like drums when going over bumps, speed bumps, road imperfections etc.. on morning start-up there's an absurd amount of exhaust coming into the cabin area, the codes [P3055 and P3056] are registered from the computer of vehicle. Now the smell of fuel is blowing through all vents whenever the defrost is running or all vents are used front and rear, with the truck in motion. It was so bad today that my entire family had to pull over to a gas station and get fresh air our eyes were burning and my [XXX] son nose started to bleed., so that's two parents and 6 children scrambling for safety. This is our only reliable vehicle other than an old 99 suburban that is hardly even road worthy anymore. I spoke with several people that have purchased vehicles and all agreed that the salesman and mostly the sales managers knew that the vehicle came from an auction and was never serviced nor inspected at the basswood dealership, which equates to them actively concealing major effects and problems with the vehicle in question. I was driving to work at 0530 on 11/10/24. I was on the highway driving the speed limit. A light came on that read "service ESC". Within 2 minutes of this light coming on, I heard a loud noise and the tail end of my car started to spin out. My power steering went out, my brakes did not work and I hit the guard rail very hard. The "electronic stability control" system in my car, turned off on me with only a minute warning, and almost killed me. My car was totaled and deemed a complete loss. Any advice would be appreciated.

2020 traverse was at Chevy dealership for state inspection & emissions test, maintenance service- oil & filter change, rotate tires, check all systems, update system & computer, flush & fill all fluids in car. Chevy certified technician preformed vehicle health inspection, multi point inspection . Car was not picking up acceleration will on a 351 mile trip alone, after stopping I notice the car hood was not on correctly when opened the oil cap was not in place but was on molding, oil had been pouring out leaving engine with no oil, the technician had not replaced cap during service and had no replaced brake fluid, antifreeze coolant, washer fluid and transmission fluid. He had force closed the hood, which could have opened at any time while driving, there was oil pouring from vehicle causes hazardous driving for myself and everyone else on highway. Car has OnStar coverage as well as Chevy safe driver function’s, and alerts on all systems all fluid levels, tire pressure, temperature ext. non of these alerts showed or alerted me putting my safety and the safety of others on the roads in danger. The technician in fact disarmed these systems and alerts when servicing my vehicle. Ciocca Chevrolet dealership in Quakertown pa, caused permanent damage to the engine and power train system, as well as putting myself and others in serious danger. The car was towed by OnStar roadside assist back to dealership where they tried to down play the severity of the damage . I refused to take back the car due to it not being drivable or safe. The service manager agreed to buy out my loan and the car is on lot for sale with tag stating ‘sold as is , no warranty” . Due to the computer system being compromised there is no data showing the service or showing the car being in distress , this issue needs to be know as driving this vehicle with out knowledge of engine damage caused from dealership failure to add all fluids during service puts driver, passenger’s and all others in danger.

The car has started to show a "Shift to Park" message on the dashboard when turning off the car. The car won't shut off until you give it a couple minutes and try again. This seems to be a consistent error with chevrolet models with a few years older and newer getting the recall.

Sunday night 4/7/24, I was on my way to the emergency department with my 5 month old baby to be seen. 30min into my drive i came to a stop light when my truck completely shut off (BLACKOUT) No Power, NO LIGHTS not even my hazard would turn on, my car wouldn't go into park or allow me to press on my breaks it was like they were glued stuck. all my doors locked and I couldn't get them to open, not even manually because of the nobs that go all the way in. I couldn't put the car into park or anything just got locked in my car and I couldn't even hit the OnStar because everything was off! I started to see cars coming from a distance so i started to panic because they were going to rear end us really bad, so i broke the driver window and went to warn drivers to please stop by putting myself at risk to get hit by a car because i didn't know what else to do, i had a 5month old baby in the back seat that would have died if I didn't pull her out and we got hit. I started to scream for help because it was dark and we were stuck. two cars came inches from rear ending us, which caused an accident between the two vehicles. thankfully a police officer was passing by and got behind my traverse to stop traffic. but if it wasn't for the cop i don't know what the outcome would have been. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. IF THE CAR WAS ON FIRE WE WOULD HAVE BURNED. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED ASAP. Why would they design a car where you cannot get out. and why did it shut off like this. ???? I NEED ANSWERS PLEASE. I'M TERRIFIED TO DRIVE MY CAR AND THIS WAS A $38,000 VEHICAL THIS IS NOT OK!!!!

I own a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse. At the time of the incident, I was driving at 55 mph and heard a very loud and unusual sound. The vehicle then began to uncontrollably shake so I pulled over to the right shoulder. A truck driver pulled over with me as he thought it was something in his truck that had malfunctioned due to the intensity of the sound that it produced. At the rear right wheel of my vehicle, the metal rim was broken vertically causing the rim to separate into two parts. The tire is completely intact. Thank god, the outermost part of the rim that holds the nuts did not break and stayed completely whole and solid letting me pull off to the right shoulder. To put it into perspective, the wheel was left in three different parts. The first part was the tire. The second part was the cylindrical shaped metal rim that stayed inside the tire. The third part, being the outermost part of the metal rim, can be envisioned as a simple cap. There were not any warning lights that became illuminated on my dash. My vehicle has not been previously repaired or diagnosed by any independent mechanic or dealer. The wheel, tire, and rim are the original fabricated parts that came with my vehicle.

Months ago I was driving, my 2020 traverse I hit the brakes and I heard a weird grinding noise & my car started wobbling, I figured I needed my brakes pads changed, I took it to Waldorf Chevy they looked at the brakes and told me everything was good I didn’t need pads and everything was ok, they said sometimes the pads get dust on them causing them to squeak, and wobble, i had the front pads replace at a local shop they also looked at the back brakes and said the back pads were good, sometime later I was heading to work I stopped at a gas station and the car wouldn’t start. On the Chevy app it said my antilock brake system and stability control needs serviced which was weird it gave no warning I had it diagnosed the mechanic said the engine seized I towed it to another shop they said the same thing I towed it to Chevy they insisted it was the battery I told them it was the engine, they later said the engine seized but not before charging me $500 for a diagnostic, $371 battery plate. I got oil changes regularly and often did preventive maintenance.

THIS STARTED AROUND MAY 2020... I WAS AT ABOUT 2K MILES IN. I WAS TOLD IT WAS DUE TO WEATHER. AND THAT THEY HAD OTHER CHEVY WITH SAME ISSUE- "SO IT'S NORMAL". I BOUGHT THE 2020 CHEVY TRAVERSE BRAND NEW RIGHT OFF LOT. AFTER WE PACKED UP AND VISITED FAMILY I NOTICED IT HAD SOUNDS. THE SOUNDS WERE LIKE WHINING NOISES JUST LOUD AND SERIOUSLY OBNOXIOUS. IT ONLY HAPPENED WE WERE TURNING VEHICLE AT FIRST. SO WE GET HOME AND IT STARTED BEING LOUDER. I THEN NOTICED AS I WAS DRIVING AND AFTER I SLOWED DOWN TO LIKE 20 HEADING FOR A STOP SIGN THE CAR SUDDENLY HAS THIS BURST OF ENERGY AND SPEEDS UP TO LIKE 33 CAUSING ME TO HIT BREAKS. I TOLD MY HUSBAND AND HE WAS LIKE I DON'T KNOW MAYBE IT IS EXPUNGING GAS. AFTER I SLOW DOWN? ISN'T THAT DANGEROUS. I IGNORED IT BUT IT CONTINUES EVER SO OFTEN AND THIS IS ON REGULAR STREETS -SPEED LIMIT IS 35. THEN THE WHINING NOISE FROM WHEEL HAD ME TERRIFIED. SO WE WENT TO DEALER. THAT WAS COMICAL. DUDE WAS LIKE "IT'S A CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CAR". I'M LIKE WHAT? WHY WOULD THEY MAKE A CAR WITH AN ANNOYING SOUND - ITS DISTRACTING. I DON'T WANT TO DIE BECAUSE OF MY WHEEL. I READ ONLINE OTHER PEOPLE HAD PROBLEMS SO WE WENT TO ANOTHER DEALER AND ANOTHER. THE GUY AT LAST DEALER WAS LIKE THIS IS NOT NORMAL. THEY CREATED CARFAX REPORT AND SWITCHED PART OUT. I COULD GO ON. SO THAT LOUD NOISE NEVER WENT AWAY- AT FIRST IT WAS LOW AND NOW LOUDER. I CALLED CHEVY AGAIN AND THEY ARE LIKE A DEALER HAS TO ACCESS SITUATION AND CALL US. THIS IS NOT SAFE. ALSO THE OTHER PROBLEMS ARE SEATBELT LOCKS. THE MIDDLE SEAT DESIGN IS TERRIBLE. MY DAUGHTER WAS SITTING THERE WHEN IT WENT BACK IN BETWEEN SEAT AND LOCKED IT WOULDN'T LET UP NO MATTER WHAT. HAD TO TAKE SEAT APART TO FIX SEAT BELT. MY SEAT IN FRONT LOCKS AND ITS RELENTLESS. SO UNCOMFORTABLE AND IT CHOKES ME BECAUSE I'M SHORT. TERRIBLE DESIGN BECAUSE IT CAN'T ADJUST LIKE THE GM VERSION. THE VEHICLE THEN CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE AIR BAG DID DEPLOY. NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE VEHICLE. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY THE UTILITY TRUCK DRIVER ON THE SCENE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. NO MEDICAL TREATMENT WAS NEEDED AT THE SCENE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A IMPOUND WHERE THEN THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED WHERE THEY PLAN TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE LOCAL DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000.

THE SURROUND VISION SYSTEM NOT WORKING. IT WAS OCCASIONALLY, NOW IT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. WE ONLY GET A DARK SCREEN WITH A RED HAZARD TRIANGLE. IT STARTED THE DAY WE BOUGHT THE CAR AND THE DEALER CLAIMS THEY HAVE ANOTHER CAR LIKE MINE AHEAD OF ME WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. SINCE THE LAST WEEK OF DECEMBER THEY HAVE CLAIMED THAT GM DOES NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THIS ISSUE. I MADE A COMPLAINT WITH MY CHEVROLET CUSTOMER SERVICE CASE # 9-6485705057, BUT I DON'T GET ANY ANSWERS FROM THEM EITHER. I AM NOT SURE IF THIS SYSTEM IS TIED INTO THE ADAPTIVE BRAKING/CRUSE, BUT I HAVE YET TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TAKE ACTION IN THAT REGARD. IN CHECKING THAT OUT. I GOT WAY CLOSER THAN I FELT COMFORTABLE WITH, I KEEP WAITING FOR THE CAR TO REACT TO THE CLOSING DISTANCE BUT IT NEVER DID. I BACKED IT OFF MYSELF. I WAS WELL WITHIN TWO CAR LENGTHS OF THE VEHICLE AHEAD (55 MPH) AND CLOSING IN AT ABOUT 3 OR 4 MPH. IF YOU HAVE TO BE CLOSER THAN THAT FOR IT TO ACTIVATE THEN I WILL NOT BE USING IT. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS DEALERSHIP FOR SEVERAL YEARS, AND HAVE PURCHASED 3 AUTOMOBILES FROM THEM. THEY HAVE PERFORMED THE REGULAR SERVICE AND WARRANTY WORK ON ALL OF THEM WITH NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. FOR THEM TO HAVE AN ISSUE FIXING IT IS NOT TYPICAL OF THE SERVICE I HAVE RECEIVED FROM THEM IN THE PAST. SO, WHEN THEY TELL ME GM DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX THE ISSUE. I HAVE TO BELIEVE THEM UP TO A POINT. WITH THE SMALL WINDOWS IN THE BACK OF THIS VEHICLE. VISIBILITY IS EXTREMELY LIMITED, AND IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. IF THEY CAN'T KEEP THE BASIC SURROUND VISION SYSTEM WORKING. HOW ARE THEY GOING TO MAINTAIN AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES TO A LEVEL THAT PROTECTS ALL INVOLVED?

WHEN WEATHER IS SLIGHTLY HUMID / WET AND AROUND 50 TO 65 DEGREES, THE FRONT WINDOWS CONSTANTLY FOG UP TO THE POINT THAT BOTH DEFROSTERS AND WIPERS ARE INEFFICIENT. THIS CREATES A SAFETY AND VISIBILITY ISSUE ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. NO AMOUNT OR SPEED OF DEFROSTER ADDRESSES THE ISSUE. THIS HAS BEEN OBSERVED ON MY VEHICLE AS WELL AS MANY OTHERS, CREATING A SAFETY AND OPERABILITY ISSUE. THE ISSUE IS ON THE EXTERIOR OF THE WINDOW, POSSIBLY FROM A FILM OR VENTILATION ISSUES ON THE INTERIOR. NO AMOUNT OF HOT OR COLD TEMPERATURE ADDRESSES THE ISSUE OTHER THAN A WIPER RUNNIGN CONSTANTLY, EVEN WHEN IT IS NOT RAINING OR WET OUTSIDE.
