infotainment screen randomly goes black and/or disconnects from Android Auto.
Oct 22, 2025
While driving, the display screen shuts off and both the speedometer and tachometer loose power. The display is off anywhere from 10-30 seconds before it acts like the system is rebooting and the startup screen comes on. Then, after the startup screen has cycled, the display starts working again. This has happened 5 times now in the last week. I have not taken to a dealer yet but am planning on scheduling an appointment as soon as possible. There were no indication prior to the display going blank and it only started recently.

My screen suddenly went black and now I have no back-up camera. My VIN is not associated with the recent camera recall, but it probably should be. This car has been reprogrammed several times for various different recalls (6).

The main symptom is chatter/shudder during low speed turning events. This is due to a faulty rear differential unit. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer. No lamps or other warnings present prior to the failure. The manufacturer has issued multiple TSBs, latest being TSB 25 2351.
Dec 10, 2025
For over a year now my car has been making a chatter/shudder noise during low speed turning. The car even shut off completely on me once while turning on a busy highway. There is a recall out (21S02) for my exact car, but built between 10/29/2020-12/11/2020. My build is not within the range however after getting it inspected, I have this exact issue with my axle having lubricant below the minimal fill level. I am worried that I will lose control of my car again and end up in a life-threatening accident.
Nov 24, 2025
We experienced premature failure of the rear differential, which was told to us to be a "know defect" by our dealership service department. Ford has been made readily aware of this failure point and potential safety concern-- it is well-documented on the internet, including this NHTSA website, yet fails to issue the proper and appropriate recalls. Consumers are expected to foot the bill for this known manufacturing failure point, which is not only inappropriate, but also extremely dangerous. Failure of the rear differential carries a known potential risk of catastrophic failure-- an immediate recall should be issued for any models affected.
Nov 13, 2025
I am submitting this letter to report a potentially widespread safety defect in the 2021 Ford Bronco related to the rear differential assembly. Many owners, including myself, have experienced or are concerned about premature failure of the rear differential under normal driving conditions. This issue can lead to loss of vehicle control and represents a significant safety risk on public roads. Ford Motor Company appears aware of the recurring nature of this defect but has not, to date, issued a recall or extended coverage for affected vehicles. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue as a possible design or manufacturing defect that warrants a formal recall or technical action from Ford. Description of Issue: Premature rear differential failure / widespread owner reports Problem has been reported to Ford Motor Company as well as Sutton Ford Dealership. They did the inspection and diagnosed it. I took my vehicle to that dealership numerous times and told them about the noise I was experiencing and it came back no problems found. This truck has had several recalls and problems since it rolled off the assembly line.

Vehicle is experiencing issues with shuttering from the rear differential and a 4wd fault code with vehicle just out of warranty. Rear differential speed sensor has failed and possibly need entire rear differential unit relaxed I’m told. Also water pump on engine has failed prematurely with ford avoiding responsibility

SERVICE BRAKES
63 complaints
On November 11, 2025, my 2021 Ford Bronco Sport experienced a complete brake system failure while driving. The brake pedal suddenly became extremely hard, and there was no braking power at all. The vehicle had to be stopped using the parking brake. This same issue occurred previously in July 2025, when the brake vacuum booster failed and was replaced at the Ford dealership. The problem has now recurred less than six months later. The vehicle is not safe to drive and is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others were put at risk because the brakes failed completely without warning while the vehicle was in motion. If traffic conditions had been heavier, a collision could have occurred. The issue has not yet been confirmed by the dealership for this most recent occurrence, but the same Ford dealer that repaired it in July handled the prior failure. The vehicle will be towed there again for inspection. No warning lamps or dashboard messages appeared before or during either failure. The only symptom was a sudden loss of brake assist and a hard, unresponsive brake pedal. This appears to be a repeated failure of the brake vacuum or brake assist system, which I understand has been part of a previous Ford recall (21C31) affecting 2021 Bronco Sport models. But my VIN number was not included in the Recall. This is my second reporting and needs to be recalled.
Nov 12, 2025
Upon starting the vehicle, brakes were extremely hard to press down and barely responded. A great deal of effort was needed to bring the car to a stop at below 5 miles an hour. If I had been driving instead of pulling out of a parking lot, this could have caused a significant accident.
Aug 19, 2025
While driving, the brake pedal suddenly required extreme pressure to stop the vehicle safely. I pulled over and parked in a parking lot. Upon opening the hood, I heard a hissing sound. During inspection, I found that the brake booster vacuum hose had broken at the check valve connection near the brake fluid reservoir. A temporary fix restored brake assistance. With the resulting significant loss of brake assist, I was forced to apply near full body weight on the brake pedal to slow and stop the vehicle. This could have easily resulted in a serious crash if traffic conditions were different. The issue has not yet been inspected by a dealer or any others, but the vehicle and the failed component are available for inspection upon request. No warning signs, symptoms, or lights were experienced or observed before the hose failure.

I am reporting a serious and recurring issue with the catalytic converter on my 2021 Ford Bronco Sport (1.5L EcoBoost), which has resulted in reduced efficiency and partial blockage, causing exhaust gases to enter the cabin and triggering engine code P0171. My safety and the safety of others have been compromised because exhaust fumes, including carbon monoxide, have entered the cabin, which is particularly dangerous as I am currently pregnant. In addition, the engine experiences RPM fluctuations and revs up on its own, sometimes hesitating during acceleration, creating a risk of loss of control or accidents, and reduced engine efficiency contributes to unpredictable vehicle behavior. The problem has been confirmed by a dealership, which diagnosed the catalytic converter inefficiency and provided a $2,000 replacement quote. This issue has been widely reported among other 2021 Bronco Sport owners, indicating a recurring problem. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership, which ran diagnostics and verified the codes. Prior to the failure, the Check Engine Light illuminated, and I experienced exhaust fumes in the cabin, unusual odors, reduced engine performance, and RPM surges with hesitation during acceleration, first appearing around 80,000. This defect poses not only a serious safety hazard, but also environmental concerns, as the failing catalytic converter increases emissions of harmful gases, including carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and nitrogen oxides, contributing to air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. I respectfully request that this issue be formally investigated by Ford and NHTSA for a possible recall, that consideration be given to goodwill or warranty coverage for affected vehicles, that guidance be provided for the safe operation of vehicles exhibiting this defect, particularly for pregnant passengers or others at risk, and that the environmental impact of this defect be considered during the investigation.

So the window switches are cutting my fingers. Whatever was used to coat the switches peels like sturdy tin foil and has sliced my fingers multiple times as well as my passengers. I had to peel that coating off the switches so no one keeps getting injured in my vehicle. I just bought this car used in April and it cut me the first time I got in it I wasn't thinking of anything until it kept cutting me and other people.

Sunroof exploded
Jun 07, 2025
The vehicle sometimes ran a little rough while idle at drive thru. Then week later the push start did not work... engine turned over but not start. After 6 times it finally started and ran good on way home. Later that week, kept having traffic lights in town turn red... constant slow so stop and go. Vehicle started sputtering and stalled out in the highway and died in middle of road and would not start. Had to let it sit several minutes and it finally started. We immediately turned around and went home. Made appointment at dealership. Tried to start vehicle to drop off for appointment but would not start. Had towed in. They claim fuel pump replacement required. Drove home and ran ok. Next day power inconsistent and runs rough at start and slow speed with one push start did not work. Reporting since my spouse is in a wheelchair and can not walk. This vehicle is only one we have that my spouse can get in due to disability and I am seriously concerned if vehicle stalls out on public highway again it is likely to result in an accident and he gets seriously hurt. Never had a vehicle I felt unsafe to have my family be in before and do not think it is safe for this vehicle be on the highway.

My car broke down and couldn’t start. Leaving me stranded 6 hours away from my house. I had to stay in a hotel and get my car fixed the next day. It was a temporary fix because there is no solution for the problem. I had to pay for a new battery because there is not a fix for the problem.

We purchased this vehicle 02/2025. The salesman stated there was a 5 point inspection and the car was good on fluids oil and brakes. We questioned the rough idle and odd sound the car made and we were told that it was normal. 07/2025 a mobile mechanic came out and repaired a recall. He stated in his notes that the car had an oil leak but he could not determine where. Fast forward to now, my car has been needing oil more than usual since we have got the car. There is a leak but it does not leak on the ground. 11/11/2025, I contacted Big Valley Ford in Stockton CA with concerns about the oil depleting rapidly and how my check engine light comes on which tells me my car has absolutely no oil. I mentioned a recall I saw online 22S21 and Greg (the man I spoke with) stated that was never a recall for my car. He saw the oil separator was replaced in 2022 but it was not for a recall. Greg then told me to make an appointment to bring the car in for a diagnostic and then an oil change. They would then mark my car where the oil is and have me come back in a few days to see how far the oil went down. I asked how much and he said 225 for the diagnostic and 135 for the oil change. Convinced he was lying to me, I called Ford in Tracy, CA and they confirmed there was a recall 22S21 for the oil separator. This car has given me so many problems and this issue clearly was never fixed and they sold me the car this way.

My 2021 Ford Bronco Sport Big Bend 1.5L EcoBoost (VIN: [XXX] ) suffered a turbocharger failure due to oil leakage, which caused overheating and smoke from the engine bay. The vehicle became unsafe to drive due to loss of power and risk of fire from leaking oil near hot engine components. I’ve found numerous reports online of similar failures in other 2021–2022 Bronco Sport 1.5L models, suggesting a possible design or component defect. This issue poses a serious safety concern, as the engine can overheat or lose power suddenly while driving, increasing the risk of crash or fire. Please investigate this matter to determine if a recall or safety campaign should be initiated to address recurring turbocharger and oil leak failures in these vehicles. I took my 21 Bronco Sport Big Bend in to have a different recall fixed and also have an oil change performed. I told the service technician that my coolant level was always low but I could not find any leaks under the vehicle. The service department called me and told me that there was coolant leaking into the cylinders of my engine and I needed the long block replaced. There was no indicator light for the low coolant or any type of engine light that would alert me of an issue. I eventually got a call that they had received parts for my engine replacement. The service technician told me that they are seeing a lot of Bronco Sports have this issue, but I never received a recall notice nor can I find an open recall online for this issue. I believe my family and I were put at risk due to this issue because of the potential for engine failure or damage.

The water pump has been replaced twice already and the water pump needs to be replaced again at 105,000 miles. This will be the fourth water pump this vehicle has. The originally came with, two replacements, and now the one that it needs because it is leaking like the previous three. The turbo charger failed and was burning oil. That was replaced. A month later it is back at the dealership being replaced again

I was driving home from work one day on a Monday and my vehicle had a bunch of warning notifications pop up such as pre collision assist not available, blind spot assist not available, etc as well as a wrench icon popped up and stayed on stating to service 4wd. I stopped driving my vehicle until I could get it serviced. I then took my vehicle to ford to get it diagnosed on Friday of the same week ford stated they would be able to diagnose it for $150 then repair and labor costs would come after. Well they never looked at my vehicle Friday so they told me to bring it back the next Monday I brought it back they said they would diagnose it a few hours later I received a call stating they “think” it’s my AWD module located under the passenger seat but they would not know if that was the problem until they got under the seat and that would cost me an extra $500 for them to inspect it. From research I have been doing they should have been able to tell me if it was exactly that module or not by plugging a J2534 into the main module and using the FDRS application that all ford dealers use. From more research I have been doing this is a very common problem with 2021 ford broncos concerning the AWD module. The faulty AWD module could be caused from a faulty battery which was a recall on my specific vehicle they stated they tested my battery that day but I’m not sure if they actually did because I tested it at home and it was reading low and I just had that battery replaced by ford in March of 2025. As well a faulty AWD module in a 2021 Bronco Sport could be related to a recall, especially the recall for the powertrain control module (NHTSA Campaign 25S26) which can cause AWD system faults. Additionally, there was a separate, earlier recall (Customer Satisfaction Program 21B19) specifically addressing a faulty transistor in the AWD module itself. My car is was not a candidate for this recall but I believe it is apart of it as well as others who are experiencing this problem.

In 2024, we had our battery replaced in our 2021 Bronco Sport by the Ford certified dealer in response to Recall Number 24S24. We did not have any issues with the previous battery. They replaced the original battery with the AGM battery, which they represented would prevent the issues that necessitated the recall - catastrophic degradation of the battery and complete loss of drive power. In mid-October 2025, my wife experienced unexpected and complete loss of drive power when exiting the interstate in the car, and was stuck in the freeway exit lane as oncoming traffic was exiting at high speeds with minimal time to avoid the stalled car. It was a dangerous situation and the car was almost struck numerous times. No warnings or messages appeared - even the hazards did not work. After about 20 minutes, we were finally able to obtain assistance from a police officer and had the car towed to a Firestone a few blocks away. Firestone confirmed that the AGM battery had failed which caused the complete loss of drive power. They replaced the battery and reprogrammed the car as best they could, but the failure of the battery also destroyed a few computer chips that needed to be replaced by Ford in order to fully reprogram it. We took it to the Ford dealership that initially replaced the battery (10 miles away) the next day, and Ford refused to refund us the costs for towing the car and replacing the battery at the Firestone, claiming our situation did not constitute an "emergency" since we could have had it towed 10 miles to the Ford dealer rather than a few blocks to the Firestone. As we did not know what was wrong with the car, we reasonably chose the Firestone as the best option, since it was only a few blocks away. Ford replaced the computer chips under the recall, but we have still paid over $600 out of pocket due to this incident that Ford refuses to pay us. The Ford dealership also took the battery when we requested the refund, and has not returned to us the battery.

Husbands Ford Bronco sport has had a constant smell of exhaust that fills the interior of the vehicle since purchased. Dealer said there was a “recall and fixed the problem”. It only lasted 2 days until it began again. My husband gets lightheaded and dizzy while driving and has to stop and roll his windows down. He almost passed out while driving home with our children. Dealership says “this is a common problem and Ford doesn’t have enough parts at the moment to fix it and it will be around 2-3 months until they do.” Also, the car has suddenly stopped while driving or won’t start back up. It has to sit for a day or so and then it will start. Tried replacing the battery and it didn’t work. We’ve had to leave it sitting in random parking lots several times.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

I bought my 2021 Ford Bronco at Morrie's Grand Ledge Ford. I live 10 minutes away from Morrie Ford Okemos. I received a recall notice from Ford Motor Company in August of this year regarding a recall of my specific vehicle. The issue is: "there is a possibility that a fuel injector may crack, which may result in fuel accumulating on the top of the engine. Liquid fuel and/or fuel vapor that accumulates near a hot surface, such as a hot engine or exhaust components may ignite resulting in an under-the-hood fire, increasing the risk of injury." I spoke to the Morrie's Okemos Ford Service Manager and was told "Ford Motor Company has not authorized this repair" and "there's nothing I can do about it." And, then he told me to call Ford Motor Company if I had a complaint. I am out of my mind furious with his response to a required repair that, if not done, could result in "injury" or death. I told the service manager not to return my Bronco until the fuel injectors are replaced, and he gives me back my original ones to prove the service has been completed. Imagine being on the road, going to work, or shopping, or on vacation and having your Bronco Sport start on fire. It's horrifying! So this is the boilerplate and impersonal reply I received from Morrie's Okemos Ford: "Hello, it appears that our team did handle the recall that was affecting your vehicle. This specific recall does have a possible extended policy for fuel injector replacements; however, in order to replace the fuel injectors, there has to be an existing issue with them. Your fuel injectors did not fall under this criteria, so we were not able to replace them under the recall warranty. We have let you know that your vehicle's recall is complete and is ready for pick up. Thank you." So, do I have to wait for a possible "under-the-hood" fire before my possibly defective fuel injectors qualify for this recall "criteria?" This is a frightening response, and I will never buy another Ford product in my life.

When I try to pump gas, I often will start the gas pump and then it will stop after only filling up about a third of a gallon. It doesn’t happen with every gas pump, but it happens frequently enough that it has become very frustrating. I end up not being able to put gas in my car at times and I have to drive to another gas station. I thought there had been a recall on this issue before and it had been resolved, but I have still been experiencing issues.

After Ford completed Recall 25S76 on my 2021 Ford Bronco Sport (VIN [XXX] ), which involves replacing high-pressure fuel injectors due to the risk of cracking and fuel leaks, the check engine light returned immediately after the road test. The Ford dealer’s diagnostic confirmed: “After installing high-pressure fuel injectors, cleared codes, road tested and check engine light came back on, performed further P/P test, found high-pressure fuel pump with internal fault which caused a back-pressure concern and took out low-side fuel pump.” The high-pressure fuel pump and low-side fuel pump both failed immediately following the recall injector replacement, which appears to indicate a related fuel-system failure. Ford has stated these are not related issues and has only offered partial goodwill assistance, leaving a significant cost for the customer. Component/system that failed: Fuel system – high-pressure fuel pump and low-side fuel pump (available for inspection). Safety risk: A fuel-system failure can cause stalling or loss of power while driving, increasing the risk of an accident. Confirmed by dealer: Yes – documented in the Ford dealer’s diagnostic notes. Inspected by manufacturer: Yes – Ford dealer completed the diagnostic under Ford’s guidance. Warning lamps or symptoms: Check engine light returned immediately after recall work. No prior symptoms before recall repair. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The component is the fuel injector, which is a part of the engine's fuel delivery system. According to the recall notice from Ford, this component has the potential to crack. The component is known to be defective and has been inspected by a Ford dealership service department upon my request and was told there's no solution as of yet by Ford. My family's safety, including that of my toddler who is a daily passenger, is at significant risk due to the potential for an underhood fire. The recall notice explicitly states that a crack in the fuel injector could lead to a fuel leak, and "liquid fuel and or fuel vapor that accumulates near a sufficiently hot surface may ignite resulting in an underhood fire, increasing the risk of injury." This places my family at risk every time we operate the vehicle, as the threat of a fire is present with no permanent solution available. Yes, the problem has been confirmed by a Ford dealer service center in Montebello, CA. On a specific date (August 16th, 2025), I took the vehicle in to inquire about the recall. The service department confirmed that my vehicle is included in the recall but also stated that Ford does not yet have an official solution to fix the issue. Yes, the vehicle and the recall issue have been inspected by the manufacturer's representative, a Ford dealer service center. The dealer verified the recall issue and confirmed that the permanent repair is not yet available, leaving the safety defect unaddressed. There have been no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem (such as a check engine light or smell of gas) at this time. The complaint is based on the official safety recall notice from Ford and the fact that a known and severe safety defect exists without a remedy. The risk is present despite the lack of a visible symptom or a complete failure at this time.

Purge valve went bad, it was causing the vehicle to try to stall and dropping down to very low rim, always happened after fueling and would sometimes hesitate to go when accelerator was pushed. I had it stall on my trying to pull on to [XXX] in Florida from an exit. That could have been very bad. And I've noticed way too many other people online and in forums having the same concern. Do to safety concerns i paid to have mine replaced but do not feel like it should have already went out this soon. The date i included below is for the last incident, this issues started over a year ago and has slowly gotten worse. I did mention this back then to my service dept but was told it just probably hadn't built up enough pressure in the tank yet after fueling. Since I have bought this used vehicle in September 2024, it has been shutting off completely with having to restart the engine. There was a recall for the battery in January 2025 that was finally approved to be replaced maybe in May or so. Battery was replaced but it keeps shutting off. I just took it in July 7 for the fuel pump to be replaced as they said that was the final cause. I drove it home the same day when it was finished and it has been shutting off still. It has shut off while I have been at the light, in reverse and as well as putting my vehicle into reverse by itself which could cause an accident. This situation has since be unresolved. I have taken it to the ford dealership with them many times with them saying there is nothing wrong with it.

Vehicle: 2021 Ford Bronco VIN: [XXX] Mileage: Approximately 88,000 miles Complaint: I am reporting major safety and drivability concerns with my 2021 Ford Bronco, which is currently undrivable and in the shop at Ron DuPrat Ford in Dixon, California. Despite experiencing issues nearly identical to those covered under existing recalls, my vehicle’s VIN is not currently included. While driving on the freeway, the vehicle suddenly malfunctioned. Without warning, it dropped into first gear at high speed, causing a rapid and unexpected deceleration. This could have easily resulted in a serious accident or even death — not only for my family but for others on the road. This is a major safety issue. After pulling off the road, the vehicle would no longer go into reverse and became completely undrivable. I also received multiple dashboard alerts, including: “An electrical fault has occurred with the transmission fluid pressure sensor circuit and its associated wiring.” “Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power” “A Powertrain or All Wheel Drive (AWD)/Four Wheel Drive (4WD) fault has been detected.” This is our main family vehicle, used daily for commuting and travel. I am still making payments on it, and the fact that it has become unsafe and unusable at this mileage is unacceptable. If this vehicle was not built for long-term use or daily driving, that should be clearly stated not discovered through dangerous failures like this. I no longer feel safe transporting my children in this car. I strongly urge the NHTSA to investigate whether the current recall coverage should be expanded to include additional VINs like mine. This appears to be a serious safety defect that poses a risk to drivers and passengers and requires immediate attention. Driver was driving on the interstate. The car flashed several electrical system failure issues and notified that the alternator no longer functioned and that the system would then pull from the battery. The battery light came on and then flashed several warnings along with sounds. Driver was luckily able to exit the interstate and make it to a parking lot off before vehicle lost all power. Once parked and turned off, the accessories like radio and dashboard screen and lights were still functioning. The car would not start until we jumped it. Afterwards the car would not switch gears and then again flashed the electric system was experiencing failure. This and along with some whirring sounds from under the hood (what I could hear from driver seat), gave me enough reason to stop trying altogether to avoid further issues. After turning the car off, the dashboard flashed errors saying that features like electric braking, lane assist, and others were not available. Car was towed to dealership. Owners notified Ford dealership of recall # 24V267000 for the vehicle on 5/5/24. Dealership said it was not yet active recall (although issued by Ford on 4/11/2024), refused to pay for new battery and alternator needed (caused by the defunct battery- part of the recall). Owner paid out of pocket and was not reimbursed for replacement parts covered by the recall. The vehicle shutting off abruptly while driving at a high speed could have caused injuries or deaths.
Feb 05, 2025
Immediately after the driver started the car, many notifications popped up on the dashboard including: cross traffic system fault, service vehicle soon, full accessory power active, hill start assist not available, service AdvanceTrac, Engine Coolant Over Temperature, and Cross Traffic System Fault. The gauge showed fuel empty and other dashboard indicators were illuminated such as engine, battery, oil, seatbelt, airbag, faulty blindspot monitoring, and traction control. Driver took pictures of these notifications and indicators for documentation. Driver turned off the car and discovered recall # 25S02 for the vehicle. Owner recognized the notification explosion from similar experience on May 5, 2024 in reference to recall # 24V267000. In May 2024, the notification system showed all of the above alerts before the vehicle shut off and lost power. At this time, the vehicle was traveling at 60 mph on the interstate. Driver was fortunately able to exit and get to a parking lot before losing steering control. Vehicle would not restart, even with a jump. The vehicle was towed to dealer, however, dealer would not honor the issued recall as it was "not yet active". The dealer replaced the battery and alternator (deemed to caused by faulty battery included in recall) at expense to the driver. Driver was not reimbursed. The manufacturer was notified for May 2024 incident and again after February 4, 2025 incident. Vehicle was towed on 2/5/25 to dealer for service. Despite the active recall, there is "no current remedy" for the problem. Driver is expected to pay all costs (i.e., tow, service parts, rental car) to HOPEFULLY be reimbursed by the manufacturer once the recall solution is released. The fact that the same issue occurred with a second recall under a year is a huge inconvenience and safety risk. Current recall states, "vehicles in this recall were previously repaired under 24V-267 and will need to have the new remedy completed".

I recently had the recalls addressed (despite having any issues with the vehicle). Days later, I noticed my vehicle would occasionally not detect my key fob. Changed battery without resolution. On 6/27/24, I was driving in rush hour traffic, and stopped with the red light. When the light turned green, I went to drive, and the car shut itself down. Everything shut down. Couldn't even turn on my hazards. While waiting for a tow truck, I received a tip to use the key fob to push the start button, and that actually worked. I took it to Ford, and they returned it 12 days later with updated modules (they stated they couldn't diagnose the issue which is fascinating to me considering the nature of the recalls and all the information I am able to find online). 10 days after having it back, the vehicle hesitated to start and displayed a 4wd fault error. Contacted Ford immediately. The next morning, I started the car and the errors were gone, but I still wanted to get it checked out, so headed towards Ford. Stopped for gas on my way, but after filling up the tank, my car wouldn't start again. This time far worse than the first time, as something under the hood starting making a clanking noise, and smoke started coming out from under the hood, and smelled like electrical fire. The noise continued to get louder, and the smoke more violent. Finally cut the battery cable since the car was smoking, at the gas pump, on a busy Saturday, minutes before noon. Very scary situation, especially with kids in the car. We are OK. We are safe. But holy crap!

On 7/22/2025 Luther Ford, When asked to drive the vehicle into the service area, the car would not go in to drive. It would not move at all. The service advisor stated we need to have the transmission taken out and taken apart to see what the issue is. He said that the transmission was needing to be replaced, and with the transmission, it is mostly because of an issue with the motor as well, but this cannot be diagnosed until the transmission issue is corrected. The vehicle is still at Luther Ford in Fargo waiting on repair. Ford offered limited financial assistance for this. With myself still owing $5758.38. There have been multiple times that I have requested the dealership drive the vehicle because of the vehicle shifting hard or cutting out when stepping on the gas. On 3/3/2023 20,991 miles I had taken the vehicle in to RM Stoudt in Jamestown, ND because the car was shifting hard, and was cutting out while in low gear/speeds. I do have documentation of this. Nothing was done at this time by the dealership. 10/3/2024 46,277 miles I had the bronco into Devils Lake Cars for an issue with the CV Shaft and warranty work. I also asked them to drive the vehicle because it is STILL not driving correctly and is not shifting correctly and wanted it to be corrected before warranty was up. Nothing was done at the dealership. Before 60,000 I called Devils Lake Cars. I stated that the vehicle is still having issues. I was not going to be able to get to the dealership as I live in a remote area, until after it goes over the 5/27/25 62,354 miles I finally got an appointment and the vehicle in at Devils Lake Cars, they documented thatthey drove the vehicle and there were NO issues. I requested the next time that we are in, that we ride with the service agent so we can prove the issues we are constantly having. 7/22/25 2500 miles later, the car is no longer able to even be put into drive and this brings us to the current situation and the transmission is needing to be replaced

I've had 3 water pumps replaced first one was right before 36,000 miles, 2 were after the bumper to bumper warranty. Had the rear drive unit replaced for grinding, that was at about 28k miles, torque converter was also replaced at about 35k miles, oil leak from my camshaft carrier gasket, thermostat housing split, battery replaced after a year. This vehicle has been nothing but issue after issue. Each time low coolant, no heat in the vehicle. No warning lamps, nothing to tell me it was low.

The car has been dying repeatedly and then decides to work again, got a new battery and new alternator and it still died. Ford techs had it and drove it for 200 miles and couldn’t replicate the issue. Now less than a month after that the car is completely dead and won’t even start with a jump. We are towing it to ford.

On two occasions vehicle has turned off while in drive. Have taken to dealership without a resolution. After vehicle is off for several minutes (unable to turn anything on including hazards) vehicle starts up and computer resets without any warnings. Unable to put the vehicle in neutral to move off the road while occurring.

My car made a loud pop noise when I go to turn it over. Then it was just dead others tried to jump it, but it wasn’t getting enough juice. Along with this all the warning signals start flashing through on the dash before basically dying. There had been warning at all early I had been driving around just fine. When we finally get to the dealership they say it was just the battery. We replace the battery but I see that other 2021 bronco sport’s had battery recall issues they said, mine didn’t fall under the date when the bad ones were produced. Still I think they should look at other dates, since they might have been over looked or on the cusps of the dates between the bad batteries and the good batteries.

When I came to a stop (stop sign) the vehicle's complete electrical system shut down, all went black. I couldn't turn on hazard lights or anything. (seems related to the recall notice). I waited to see if any change occurred, attempted restart, but nothing was operable. I connected a jump start battery and successfully restarted the car... all seemed ok afterward. This seems life endangering as a potential hazard.

While driving my 2021 Ford Bronco Sport, I experienced a strong chemical/fume smell entering the cabin, which caused headache and nausea. I later found that the battery installed in the vehicle had vent holes with visible liquid residue indicating leakage. I did not authorize or install this battery — it appears the battery was changed without my knowledge while the vehicle was in a lender’s possession. This created a serious safety concern because the fumes entered the HVAC system and the vehicle became unsafe to operate. I had the vehicle towed to two separate Ford dealerships. Both refused to inspect the HVAC system or provide a proper safety diagnosis. One dealer admitted the battery had “traces of leaking fluid,” but no diagnostic inspection was performed, and they attempted to close the repair order without documenting the safety concern. I was forced to replace the battery out of pocket just to safely drive the vehicle, but the original leaking battery and the exposure incident should still be investigated. My safety was put at risk, and the dealerships refused proper inspection or remediation.

I took my vehicle into my local ford dealership to get three active recalls remedied. Within 24 hours, my check engine light reappeared as well as "service engine soon" on my way into work. Upon leaving work, the dash lights were gone. They would come and go periodically. After about a week, it would pop up "service engine soon" and within ten minutes, regardless of speed, the RPMs would fly all the way up and the vehicle would act as if I took my foot off of the gas, almost immediately stopping on the highway. I would have to almost immediately pull off of the road and my vehicle would stall, flashing "shift system failure" as well as failing to let me put the vehicle into park or any other gear. Taking it into the shop, they told me that was due to a software bug WHICH THEY JUST "FIXED" with a recall update. They also proceeded to tell me there is metal debris in my oil and I need my transmission rebuilt, quoting me $13,000.

Previous NHTSA ID Number. 11596944. Recall fix was run earlier this month. Car died at stoplight two days ago. Fix run again at dealership. Car died at red light again today. Was able to put car in park. Tried to restart. Multiple flashing warnings. Was able to get hazards on this time. Had car towed back to dealer. They are calling Ford. Second time this happened at busy intersection. This time at interstate on ramp. Bus driver attempting to turn got out of bud and offered to push the car but we could not get it in neutral. Tow driver had towed in a bronco sport right before us with the same issue. Someone is going to be seriously injured. Service guy showed me record of previous error messages. There were about twenty. I have a video of the screens flashing today.

My 2021 Bronco failed our family on Friday. The Bronco failed to start upon pressing the start and brake pedal. The main console panel started flashing then cycling through all kinds of failure alerts. There was a series loud noises from the engine, the headlights flashed off and on for over 3 minutes and then the engine started smoking. The doors would not open and we were stuck inside while the engine was smoking. That smoke came through the air vents as well. Finally, I was able to get my door open though couldn’t open my son’s rear passenger side door from the outside. He was stuck inside for what seemed like forever. He was able to open it finally and I carried him inside. My son’s legs are paralyzed and he does not walk. My main concern was getting him to a safe place as I was scared to death that the engine was going to explode in that moment. The engine smoke started to ease up however the electrical burning smell was overwhelming. This all took place in my garage. The trunk would not unlock and my key fob would not engage with the vehicle at all during this time. The trunk hatch lock finally disengaged and I was finally able to get his wheelchair out. Everything failed. I could not get the Bronco into neutral at any point. The Bronco is currently at my local Ford dealer where I was told I have to wait a week before it can even be looked at. I was told "it's just the battery...." There is NO way my experience was "just the battery." As of 10/10/2023 no one from corporate or the dealer has reached out to me. Once I got to the dealer (Jarret Gordon Ford Davenport), they were so dismissive of me. The service advisor never even asked if my son or myself were OK.

The contact owned a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 MPH the warning message "System Default, Battery" was displayed. After stopping to inspect under the hood the contact discovered smoke and flames were present coming from inside the engine compartment. The fire department was called to the scene and extinguished the fire. During the incident, the vehicle was destroyed. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer who informed that the failure was caused by a faulty serpentine motor belt. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. A fire report was taken at the scene. The failure mileage was 142,000.

MY VEHICLE IS 4 YEARS OLD AND HAVE HAD 6 RECALLS ! THIS IS NOT A SAFE VEHICLE AND I WANT MY MONEY BACK.
Feb 10, 2025
This has been an ongoing issue since I purchased the vehicle in July 2024. It has become so bad that the vehicle is nearly un-driveable. FORD states it is a non-issue, non safety related and there is no know fix at this time. FORD has been buying vehicles back due to this "secret recall" but after numerous calls and visits to both dealers and the Ford customer care line, nothing is being done. And while FORD might state it is an "inconvenience", when driving on the highway and a cylinder just randomly shuts down, the vehicle loses power and backfires and vibrates it is a safety concern. I have been EXTREMELY patience and professional in all my dealings with FORD on this matter, yet they refuse to offer me any help or come to a resolution in my case.

On 1/23/24, car was serviced for an electrical fault with the fuel pump control module which was confirmed via a vehicle alert. On 6/12/24, car was serviced for a software update recall. (I believe this was in relation to the fuel injector issue.) On 7/4/24, the car would not start but kept clicking trying to start. White smoke started coming out from under the hood. Panicked, we called the fire department and my niece's husband disconnected the battery so that the car would quit trying to start in an effort to mitigate a full fire. We could smell burning and fuel. The fire department even confirmed something smelled like it had burned but there was no active fire, so they told us to leave the battery disconnected and have it towed. I had the car towed to the dealership for $249. (Of which Ford only reimbursed me $140) My car sat for 2 weeks before Ford service confirmed the fuel injectors needed to be replaced as part of the 22N18 recall, but also said the battery was bad. Prior to this incident, I had 0 issues other than the issue in January. I had no notifications of battery issues in my app, no dimming of lights, etc. I had to pay over $300 to replace the battery so Ford could do "further testing" since I was a month out of the 36 month warranty. I picked up my car on 7/26/24 and when I started it in the bay, I smelled burning and even asked a different employee who confirmed he smelled it, and we were told by the manager that it was "old fuel burning off." He assured me the car was fine. I noticed my car being slow to start and having an odd issue whenever I turned, like a rubbing sound and it still had a burning smell even though I had to pay Ford to replace the cabin air filter. This was all new. Then, 8/18/24, my car again would not start, all the electrical lit up and the brakes were locked up. My car started smoking again under the hood as it kept trying to start. We could hear sounds like it was trying to start. Again, car is being towed to Ford.

Bought 2021 bronco sport in Dec 21. Since my engine has stuttered and started to die. The panel starts falling as if it is sitting off. This is not the auto engine shut off while idling at a light issue. Upon starting the engine you can hear a ticking and on every certain revelation the vehicle will sputter and start to cut off. It has died on 2 occasions in my driveway, but not yet on the road. It will stutter and start to die almost always in idle, especially in park, but it will do it and stay losing power mainly while driving low speeds or when not pressing gas pedal. I received recall and was told part was not available and didn't know when it would be available and have never been told part was available, but miraculously my recall order was closed without parts ever being replaced. This is like mist of the 8 recalls on this vehicle. 6 recalls where made before the vehicle came off of the train car. 6 recalls were still active the night I drove off the lot AFTER SERVICE WAS CLOSED. My first service was flat spots in my tires from sitting in a train car in Florida heat for 3 months, no parts were replaced, feb and March of last year the recall was closed before my car was in the shop... My dealership is clearing recalls and not reels my vehicle. They are taking advantage of my mental disabilities.

A large crack in the windshield appeared out of nowhere. There was no injury to the windshield, no damage from a rock, etc. I got in my car one day after work and a large crack had appeared. I viewed company footage to see if something damaged my car, and there was nothing found. The crack appeared as a malfunction of defect of the car.

The windshield developed a crack down the center of the windshield starting at the top of the glass. There is no apparent indication that crack is due to an object hitting it.

While driving on interstate I noticed what seemed to be small gravel (sand like) hitting the vehicle. Then I heard the sound of the window cracking across from the lower drivers side to the center of the window. I never noticed anything striking the window. After stopping in a safe area I could see on the outside that something small had struck it. The windshield has been replaced by my insurance company and One week later I have already received one small chip. As with most people my age I’ve had numerous vehicles and have only had one other vehicle with a windshield that was as easily damaged and that would be a Jeep TJ. Many other people have been complaining on line about the same issue. Like Jeep Ford should be replacing the windshield with a better product.
Sep 06, 2021
Windshield is too thin and is prone to cracking very quickly. The windshield needs to be made out of thicker glass.

I live in northern Indiana where humidity is high in the summer. We often have nights with a low temperature in the 60s to low 70s, with heavy dew, and sometimes fog. I park the Bronco in the garage overnight, and the windows are clear in the morning. I go to work before sunrise. With the climate control (With: Manual Temperature Control) set for no, or low heat, and outside air, everything is fine till about 10 minutes into the drive. The air conditioner turns on (with no indication that it is on, except the ice cold air coming out of the vents). Then the windshield starts to fog up on the outside because of the high humidity outside and a cold windshield. There is now way to turn off the air conditioner, except to turn off the climate control. I have tried turning up the temperature control to compensate, only to have the air conditioner turn off after several minutes, then I get hot air, and it is a never-ending task to try to control this as the temperature from the vents goes up and down. When the windshield fogs up on the outside, the wipers can;t effectively clear it. This hassle is also distracting to the driver. I know of no reason to have a humidity sensor turn on the air conditioner. This was verified by the dealer that the humidity sensor is what is turning on the AC.

Injuries: 1
I was involved in an accident with a deer. It impacted my driver door. The impact and physical damage were minimal to moderate. However, at least 6 airbags deployed, totaling out the vehicle. There have been some recalls on 2021 Broncos for faulty airbag sensors. There was no recall on mine. Yet, I believe these sensors were faulty as it was a minor impact to the vehicle. As I had purchased this vehicle before inflated prices and inflated interest, my financial loss is great. Had at least 6 airbags not deployed, my vehicle would not be a total loss.

Crash: 1
After spending Sunday preparing for the week at my small business, I was driving home on the highway just before 10:00PM at approximately 55 miles per hour. As I traveled toward a T intersection there was a sedan that had been stopped at their respective stop sign; I quickly approached and the vehicle pulled out abruptly in an attempt to cross both eastbound lanes and travel westbound on the four-lane divided highway. Though all attempts were made on my part to prevent it, the broadside collision occurred in the right eastbound lane at a high rate of speed; driver's side front end damage to my vehicle and rear driver's side damage to the sedan. Angled in the middle of both eastbound lanes of traffic, my vehicle became disabled due to the deployment of the driver's knee airbag. However, the chest airbag did NOT deploy and resulted in a severe whiplash injury. 1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Driver's Air Bag. Yes, original is still installed in vehicle. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I personally sustained a severe whiplash injury due to the chest air bag NOT deploying. To this day I do not feel 100% safe driving the vehicle as the original airbag is still installed; if it didn't deploy the first time and I sustained debilitating injuries, how can I, or the next owner, be confident it will ever deploy?! 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Unknown. Airbag didn't deploy. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Yes. Knee airbag was replaced and all other repairs were completed. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? NO. I had just purchased this vehicle brand new, off the lot several months prior to the collision and it had less than 10,000 miles.

My Bronco was running while parked and another driver struck my driver side fender at about 60mph. Which spun my car about 180° and about 15 feet from where i was parked. None of the airbags went off even though the vehicle should have sustained sufficient sideways motion. The fuel shut off was activated and the radio notified me of a crash but my 911 assist wasn't set. I asked ford and my body shop who haven't been able to tell me why my airbags didn't deploy

The vehicle has been in the shop since day one with many many problems! The TURBO failed under warranty so they replaced it without doing proper procedures. A few months later the turbo failed again out of warranty but this time cracked the head causing damages I can not afford!! The vehicle is sitting at the dealership not fixed!! I want out of this lemon!!! I tried getting them to buy it back when I took it to the shop three different times due to break issues they could not fix but a Ford representative told me it "had too many miles" I work out of this vehicle and have not been able to work now for three months!! Note...after the first TURBO was replaced I told the dealership the vehicle was loosing antifreeze but all they did was pressure check the radiator. A few months later engine failure due to turbo failure!!

My 2021 Bronco Sport suddenly died on [XXX]. The parking brake engaged unexpectedly, locking all four brakes and resulting in a significant skid mark. An error message flashed: “Park Not Available. Apply Park Brake Before Exiting,” and the park gear light blinked. I turned off the engine again, but the car was dead when I tried to restart it. After getting a jump start, the car turned on. However, the parking brake engaged again shortly after. I was able to drive it off the road. My wife, a research librarian, found that many others have reported issues related to “Sudden Death Syndrome." See below. [XXX] [XXX] ). The car was towed from PA, where we were visiting, to Stanford Ford, where we purchased it on [XXX]. On 11/13, the dealership told us there was a short circuit in the wiring connected to the solenoid and estimated $900.00 for labor. At noon on 11/15, the technician was test-driving the car. By 4:17 PM, I was told it was ready. 5 min. later, they told me it wasn't ready due to another issue. At 11:15am on 11/18, we were informed the issue was a short circuit in the transmission, costing $13,000. How is that possible? The car is only three years old! We've faced many recalls with this car, the last just this past August, but the most dangerous issue is the unexpected engagement of the parking brakes, causing chaotic behavior. Given the number of similar incidents, it's hard to believe there hasn't been a recall. We could have been injured or even killed if we had been driving over 40 mh and driving in heavy traffic, or worse, on the highway. I had driven for about 30 minutes, without turning the car off, I had just picked my fiancé up at the train and was slowing down for a stop sign. The car just stopped completely the lights flashed and powered down and I couldn’t do anything with the drive shift or even get the flashers on. Luckily we were coming to a stop anyway, but for majority of the time I was without flashers lights or anything and it was getting dark. We are in Virginia working and are usually traveling the interstate at the time but happened to do separate modes. I don’t know what could have happened had I been going 70 on the highway at night. I keep trying to start the car and was eventually able to put it in park but wasn’t able to get it into neutral or anything else. After multiple start attempts I am able to get the flashers on but as I keep trying to start it was turning the flashers off. I called for assistance through the ford app and they said it would be 2 hours before someone could come. We were able to get a jump and it came back on and when it did every single warning light was on for a moment and it went back to normal and our friend followed us over to the dealer to drop off. Before this while driving I had no errors and my app said my status was green. I had no notifications of issues from the ford app or my vehicle. Right as it was shutting down it did show a ac warning of some sort. Otherwise no errors. It is currently at a ford dealer and I am waiting to hear back with what they say.

On February 5, 2024, the engine of a Bronco Sport shut off while driving and the dashboard lights began flashing with multiple warnings and notifications. The car would not restart and the gear shift was locked, preventing the driver from moving the vehicle out of the road during rush hour traffic. A tow truck was called, but after 30 minutes, the driver was able to restart the car and canceled the tow truck. The car was taken to the dealership on February 6, 2024, but the cause of the incident has not been diagnosed. On February 4, 2024, the driver attempted to start the engine, but the dashboard lights began flashing with multiple warnings and notifications and the engine would not start. The driver called a tow service, who jump-started the battery and informed the driver that the battery was not completely dead. The driver also discovered that the power steering had failed. The car was taken to the dealership on February 5, 2024, where it was diagnosed as a battery cable issue. The cable was replaced and the power steering was fixed. Dealership indicated that two repairs were unrelated. On December 8, 2023, the driver drove the car approximately 20 miles home, but upon exiting the car, the dashboard lights began flashing with multiple warnings and notifications and the engine would not start. The driver had to disconnect the battery cables to turn the car off completely. The driver called a tow service on December 9, 2023, who advised trying to jump-start the car. After charging the battery for 30 minutes, the car started and stopped without issue. On July 6, 2023, the customer noticed that the car was slow to start and received a warning on the dash indicating a "powertrain malfunction." The car was taken to the dealership on July 7, 2023, where it was diagnosed as having a faulty battery, which was replaced.

I own a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport that has had repeated premature failures of critical components. At ~52,000 miles the water pump failed and was replaced along with coolant and belts. Less than 21,000 miles later (at ~73,000 miles) the water pump has failed again, with coolant leakage and a burning coolant smell. Ford has issued TSB 23-2104 acknowledging coolant leaks at the water pump/hose connection, yet no recall or extended coverage has been offered. This is not the only issue. My alternator has also failed twice and required multiple replacements in under 4 years of ownership. Having two major components (water pump and alternator) fail repeatedly within such a short period clearly shows a systemic defect, not normal wear and tear. Safety risks: coolant leaks can drip or vaporize onto hot engine components, creating a fire hazard. Alternator failure risks sudden loss of power and stalling in traffic. Both are unacceptable in a vehicle this new. The dealership confirmed the latest water pump diagnosis and quoted over $1,000 in labor alone, placing an unreasonable financial burden on the owner. This is the second water pump and second alternator within 73,000 miles. Ford and its dealers know this is an ongoing issue in Bronco Sports, as confirmed by widespread owner reports and TSBs, but continue to deny responsibility. A recall or customer satisfaction program should be issued to address these repeated failures.

My car is only 4 years old and is now in need of a brand new transmission. The power train lights are on, the emissions lights stay on, it shuts off after getting gas and won’t restart. I’ve been to the Ford dealer to fix “recalls” and was told there was no fix for it yet and that the noises I was hearing and the problems I was having was all fine and that there should be no long term issues with my car. Now, a few months later my car is back at the dealership in need of a whole new transmission. I am so sick of the issues and constant battles with this car and being told it’s fine and to wait for a call for the update to be ready. I am now out of a vehicle and I haven’t even owned it a year yet.

The car has now on three separate occasions lost power while driving. As I slow down coming to stop or reducing speed car will completely lose power and then struggle to restart. Both occasions were on busy roads. Additionally, when you put fuel in the car it does not turn on right away it smells like fuel is burning and fumes enter into the cabin. When you push start after fueling it struggles to turn car on to drive. There is full accessory power but no power to drive the car even when giving it gas. It requires multiple attempts at starting the vehicle and it will tremble and shake once it starts running and stutters as if about to shut off even when you start driving it. Today it powered down again while driving and we avoided and accident but it is becoming dangerous to drive the vehicle due to its unpredictable shutting down.

The car caught fire the morning of Dec 11, 2024 while the vehicle's owner was driving their children to school. There are photos and a fire report is being generated. The vehicle's owner and her children could have been killed. Early indications are that the fire was caused by the same faulty engine/exhaust system defect that the owner has been complaining to Ford about for years. It is assumed the fire report will confirm that. For the past two or more years the vehicle has been emitting exhaust fumes into the passenger compartment of the vehicle while driving. This has caused the vehicle's owner and her children to get sick and forced them to drive the vehicle with the windows down at all times even in cold weather. Ford's dealers have confirmed the problem several times, but either could not or refused to fix it. A summary of the vehicle's service history is included below: 35,662 miles Customer states inside of vehicle smells like exhaust. 37,431 miles Inside of vehicle smells like exhaust. 39,856 miles inside of vehicle smells like exhaust. confirmed customers concern found cat warped at mating surface to turbo replacement required. 46,832 miles Fumes getting inside the Cab, seems to be blowing in from vents. Misdiagnosed as blower motor electrical smell and missed broken catalyst. 47,300 miles Customer had car towed into shop stating car was shaking and smelled flumes inside the car. Verified concern that exhaust smell was present in car and loud noise was coming from engine, found catalytic converter had broken at flange to turbo causing exhaust leak. Recommend new catalytic converter, removed and replaced catalytic converter. Low pressure fuel injectors are leaking. Verified customer concern, found fuel seeping out of all 3 low side injectors, recommend injector replacement, remove and replaced all 3 low side fuel injectors, found no other leak at this time. Found injectors were leaking fuel. 47,829 miles Check engine light. Remove and replace purge valve.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, an alarm was intermittently activated associated with the Forward Collision Avoidance system while there were no other vehicles nor objects nearby. The engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer and was diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the contact stated that the radar sensor system was replaced previously. Upon further investigation, the contact related to failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V982000 (Forward Collision Avoidance); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.

The doors on my vehicle are buckling. There are ripples in the sheet metal on all four doors where the metal meets the window glass. It appears to be some type of structural issue. Im worried if these doors are buckling under normal wear and tear im concerned if they are structurally sound if the vehicle were involved in a accident? Is the cause of this issue metal fatigue? I am not an engineer but there is obviously an issue with these doors that may be some type of safety issue. I brought this to the attention of Ford and they acknowledged the issue. They took photos of the issue but have not come up with a solution. While at the dealership having my vehicle inspected I observed several other Ford Broncos with the same issue. I provided photos of the issue but I must admit it is difficult to see.

Failed Window Assembly in Tail Gate resulting in broken tail gate window. Driving on A1A, Melbourne Beach FL, 630 am September 20th, 2022 45 mph heard very loud boom and saw that the high pressure cylinders that lift the back window blew apart and shattered the tail gate window obstructing my vision out of the rear window. The spontaneous combustions of the window assembly blew up and almost made me loose control of the vehicle. Nothing hit the window from inside or outside of the car. This car has been in maintenance on three other occasions to have the electrically operated systems repaired. I believe this is a manufacture defect. If the vehicle cannot accelerate, I am at risk because I may be merging into traffic and a car could hit me. I tried calling the dealer but they don't have a solution to the problem yet. It is a safety recall but they don't have a way to fix it. There's also a lawsuit that I'm not related to but about this same issue. So I'm concerned this is going to take a long time to be solved. ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

The evaporative emissions system failure involving the purge valve and vapor canister purge valve is a recurrent issue on this car and has been reported by hundreds if not thousand of bronco sport owners. The safety issue that arises from this is that we are emitting more fuel vapors into the atmosphere, not only does this not help with emissions control into the atmosphere, but it decreases fuel efficiency and increases gasoline smell into the vehicles cabin.

While driving on the interstate at 65-70mph, my Bronco Sport lost all acceleration randomly. The engine would rev, but there was no acceleration. I had no indication of errors (no engine light, etc.) Before this happened, I was using the adaptive cruise control. I had to pull over and power cycle the vehicle to fix the issue. This was while traffic was busy with cars flying by me. I have not taken it to a dealership or had it diagnosed yet, but this shouldn't be something that happens anyways. Not only was this scary, it was a huge safety risk as it could have caused a wreck.

I was driving in Atlanta in 4 lanes of heavy traffic. My new Bronco just started slowing down and I was almost killed by traffic swerving around me. The message said deactivated switch and fuel injector faulty. Then Bronco completely stopped and would not crank. 100 degree heat in bad part of town. Stranded and scared. After being towed, the deactivated switch replaced in Ford dealership in Georgia. No loaner given. After 2 weeks at my expense, I get car back. 2 months later it happens again. Now, it’s in dealership for third time for 2 more weeks. Waiting to hear what’s wrong. The dealership has ordered fuel injector replacements. This is a brand new Bronco with about 4k miles. I am distressed and disappointed.

Vehicle experienced catastrophic power failure while I was driving. Without warning, the vehicle shut down completely. The engine stopped, the brakes engaged, the dash went black. There was no way to communicate with the vehicle -- no way to engage emergency flashers or even to push it to the side of the road (because the brakes were locked). There was a loud "pulse" sound coming through the speakers -- "thump. . .thump. . .thump. . ." which continued for 5 - 10 minutes. A police officer who stopped to assist noted the rear tail lights were strobing. The "P" on the transmission shifter flashed continually. Over the next 30 minutes, the infotainment screen rebooted twice, but went to black within seconds. The instrument panel rebooted once, but also went black after a few seconds. The car was towed to Kings Ford in Mason/Deerfield Township OH. The service tech reported the only issue was a dead battery which he replaced. That issue has not reoccurred in my Bronco Sport. On the Bronco Sport Forum, [XXX] reported an identical event in Feb. 2023 happened to her vehicle. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was driving down a city street in Sacramento and the car just suddenly stopped- engine and everything was off. I could not get the car to turn back on. Emergency lights would not come on, it was if the entire electrical system was out. I was in the middle of the road, so needed to put hazards on to warn others and I could not. Cops came to place flares to warn other drivers after 35 minutes. No warning codes or anything to let me know what was happening. Having car towed. 10 minutes before tow truck arrived, vehicle started, so I was able to move it to a safer place. But the car was inoperable for about an hour and a half.

2nd time in a month this car has shut off completely while in motion. Both times in an intersection. No power to even turn on hazards to let traffic know I was stuck. Finally gets some power and hazards are able to come on but they are faulty and glitch, do not stay consistently on. Ford had no answers for me a month ago and just sent me home.

My car has left me in the middle of the road twice in 2 weeks . I am scared and nervous can’t understand what’s going on , I am with my kids and no one to help . Every light comes on and off and it won’t start , the first time my ex husband jumped it with his jumping cables and it came right back to life , but this second time , we jumped it for about 5 times and nothing . Towing truck came in the night the day after it happened and he jumped it and it started, drove my car really carefully back home and now I’m scared to use my car because I’m afraid it’ll leave me in the middle of the highway or what’s worse it can cause an accident and my kids inside . I couldn’t even imagine how devastating that would be. Please help me to find a solution for this matter _ Sincerely, A mom with 3 kids driving to her job and kids sports every day and she needs a reliable car .

!!!ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION WITH "TRANSMISSION ISSUES"!!! I will NEVER get a Ford again! I'm updating my previous issue #11688946 I received my 2021 Ford Bronco Sport in early 2023. I noticed a shutter when accelerating from a stop, I took it to the dealership and had the 3rd fuel injector recall completed (still waiting for a remedy to the most recent #25V467). The dealership stated my vehicle should run fine now. The shutter persisted and worsened and a new issue developed, my RPM's would slightly bounce while going at a steady speed. 09/19/2025 BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP I GO!Just for them to "diagnose" the issue I had to pay $165.00. AND they tried to charge me double stating it took them 2hrs. My BS was dropped on less than 2hrs of them calling me. DIAGNOSIS: torque converter. They recommended a flush and fill for $300-$400. 09/25/2025 I bought an OBD-II and plugged in to see if there were any codes. The codes I got make way more sense than a new transmission. -U0140:00-08--BCM missing communication -U1A00:87-08--APIM private communication network malfunction -U2013:01-08-- Switch pack issue Also the EVAP system vapor pressure as well as Oxygen sensor current (B1-S1) is functioning incorrectly and randomly drops below the normal range. My transmission is fine... All they had to do is updated/reset my BCM when they had it as well as perform a "relearn". But they didn't!!! Clearly these are not always transmission issues but service work is what makes dealerships more money.

Vehicle experienced power terrain failure causing vehicle to stop while driving in the middle of the road meanwhile cars avoid hitting my vehicle. I had my [XXX] old in the backseat at the time and this incident could have caused injury or possibly death. Vehicle has also experienced accelerator issues. Vehicle would lag 3-5 seconds for vehicle accelerator to speed up when pressing on accelerator. Fortunately no major accidents, but I am concerned that the issues I have experienced thus far with the Bronco 2021, it can potentially cause a major accident that can possibly cause injury or death. Through Ford Pass app I do recieve warning messages of mechanical issue at time of incident. Vehicle has been inspected and mechanical issues corrected at the dealership. There is a load moaning sound when backing the vehicle up or making a turn which significantly effects steering and stoping. Ford dealership said that tires were not rubbing body and tie rods were ok. This ford bronco sport only has 25K miles on it and never taken off road. Ford said to live with the sound until it bothered us? They said that it didn't need brakes but a new brake job could possibly fix problem? Independent repair shop said that it wasn't a brake issue but didn't know what the problem was. This load sound must be a defect for this vehicle because others on the web have expressed the same problem but ford has not put out a recall as of this date.

Car was put into drive and wouldn’t go. It would finally go but Everytime the engine changed gears it dropped to 0 rpm’s making it very dangerous to drive!!! Lots of lights came on and my app sent me two things wrong with it. After having it checked the codes said it was a valve body issue. Replacing the transmission is $4000, and I’m not the first with this problem a friend of mine had the same issue a couple weekend before me.Had two mechanics one of which was from the dealership tell me this was happening a lot! It’s very dangerous especially when you have kids in the car like I did and are having to stop at red lights and such. There were no issues or lights to show warning of this happening either.

When turning at low speeds like a drive-thru or in a parking lot, the vehicle makes a skipping or grabbing sound and pulls/lurches slightly until the wheels are straightened. Recommended fix was replacing a front differential ventilation hose, which is not covered by bumper-to-bumper or powertrain warranty, and not a guarantee to fix the issue.

I was unaware of any previous recalls before I purchased my Bronco Sport used. There is an active recall that has no remedy for the battery. I am actively having issues with my fuel system. It was inspected more than once. Diagnostics returned zero issues 3 times and no warning lights. I insisted further inspection this time which revealed bad purge valve, charcoal canister full of fuel, coolant leak resulting in water pump replacement needed. No warning lights. No codes, active or stored. Due to the absence of codes, they will not replace my fuel injectors per customer satisfaction program 22N18. Was not ever informed that recalls 22S73, 22S21, and 21C31 were either inspected or completed on my vehicle as it was not ever disclosed to me and the Ford website only state "scheduled maintenance" was performed. I still cannot obtain documentation of those previous service records so that I may be informed on what could have led to the current issues I am having with this vehicle. I have 3 kids I drive around and do not feel safe putting them in it anymore due to official documents issued by Ford that state my car could either lose power in the middle of driving it, or catch on fire due to a cracked fuel injector.

I received an error message from the car that stated "Restraints Indicator Lamp Warning". This issue was for the passenger side seat and made the car turn off the air bag as it couldn't confirm the seat belt was being used even though it was. Ford stated this issue would not be covered as the vehicle only has a 5 year or 60,000 mile safety coverage. After some research on Reddit, it appears this may be a bigger issue that is impacting the Bronco Sport and the Maverick.

I bought a 2021 Bronco Sport Brand new and ever since the car has been a problem. The rear axle wasn’t getting enough lubricants so it was grinding and I didn’t know what it was at the time but I took it to a Ford dealership and was told after spending 200$ on diagnostic testing that absolutely nothing was wrong with the vehicle. The vehicle kept doing the same thing grinding noises so I took it in again and got the same results now mind you this is way before my power train was up. The car felt so unstable and unsafe it got to the point where I had to just leave it at the dealership until Ford could help me with some financial assistance. While at the dealership Ford told the mechanic to check the transmission and upon checking the transmission the mechanic found a problem. The total of repairs came up to over 10k for a vehicle that doesn’t even have 65k miles on it. I was sold a brand new lemon. This was my first new car purchase and it has literally been the worst experience in my life. The brakes were recalled the fuel injection system now the battery which I’ve already spent 500$ on a new one last year has guess what? Been recalled as of 1/17/2025. So after thousands of dollars in rental car and Uber rides which I have yet to be reimbursed for my vehicle is still at the Ford dealership has been there for over 3 months out of 10k in repairs Ford offered to pay only 4,100. What a rip off buying this junk was. I really thought Ford would do the right thing and take care of its customers but I was wrong dead wrong. Biggest mistake of my like.

The vehicle was traveling on a major highway when at a red light the car stopped and the auto start/stop engaged and the car turned off. After the car turned off I could not restart it. All power to the car was lost. No lights, radio, nothing. I attempted to put the car in neutral to move it off the highway, however the car is designed in a way it can not simply just be shifted into neutral. I grabbed the owners manual and read I needed to pull the manual park release cable located under the steering wheel. I pull the cable nothing. At this point I’ve called the local police department and they send out 2 officers. They attempt to shift the car into neutral as well, to no luck. I read the electronic parking break needs to be turned off but the car needs power to do this. My car has no power. A man comes with a jumper box and attempts to jump the car when it starts smoking. The battery has full voltage however it’s not transferring power to the car. I have to sit in the middle of a highway for 2 hours until a tow truck can tow my car. In those 2 hours I was at a significant risk of bodily and property damage and also risking harm to the other drivers on the road. Ford has no suggestion how to fix my specific problem. They’ve not taken into account a situation where there is no power to turn off the electronic parking break, to pull the cable and shift the car into neutral. The Ford service department had no idea how to replicate the situation to try and fix it. All I asked Ford for was a way to safely be able to remove my car from the middle of traffic the next time it happens. They have told me they can not help me. The Delaware city police department sent two officers who witnessed the event. Prior to the loss of power there was no warning. $1000 later I had a new starter put in and Ford did some recall work on it. However in my opinion the car is unsafe in the event power is lost again on the road.

My car was stopped at a red light and when I hit the gas to go my entire car shut off. I was not able to turn my hazards on or put my car in neutral to push my car out of traffic. This is a huge safety concern because a car could’ve rear ended me since I wasn’t able to put hazards on. I attempted to jumpstart the vehicle but that didn’t work. I had to get my car towed and sent to the dealership. The issue sounds like the recall notice 24S24 - however my bronco sport says I don’t have any recalls. After talking to other bronco sport owners who had similar issues, they said they had to pay several hundred dollars to replace the battery with an AGM battery because the bronco sport isn't equipped to handle all the electronics.

My 2021 Ford Bronco Sport Big Bend had an acute and complete power failure. I stopped for a red traffic light and was waiting to turn and my brake popped under my foot and my vehicle lost all power. It would not restart and I was broke down in the middle lane of traffic with no ability to have hazards or any kind of power. This is with approximately 27,000 miles on the vehicle that I just recently purchased. As a single lady with her quad amputee son in the car, this was very scary and certainly concerning. Ford states my vehicle has no recalls, yet this seems to be a regularly occurring issue with this specific make and model. Can this possibly be looked into and more vehicles added to this recall? Thank God I wasn’t actually in motion when I lost power. I had to have my vehicle towed to my home and now I have nothing to drive and am told my 3year/36,000 mile warranty expired a few months ago due to age, not mileage. Ford should’ve reported this, but I figured it needs to be heard again and again until this problem is corrected and unsuspecting motorists aren’t left stranded or put into any unnecessary danger at the hand of a vehicle manufacturer.

On days when it rains or the weather is slightly cold/dewy, the Ford Bronco seems to make a screech/horn-like sound only when reversing. I found some online forum links (listed below) where other Ford users seem to describe the similar issue we're experiencing. This is the second dealership that we have taken the vehicle to be serviced for the issue, but they have both stated there is nothing they can do because the issue has not been issued as a recall. [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] The first dealership visited for service was: Metro Ford Sales & Service, Inc. Address: 6455 S Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60636 The second dealership visited for service was: Napleton Ford of Oak Lawn Address: Address: 6100 W 95th St, Oak Lawn, IL 60453 The attachment includes the most recent appointment visit. Unfortunately, I cannot provide an invoice at this time because the vehicle is still at the dealership (10 days after taking it in). I visited the dealership yesterday (08/12/2024) where I was informed that the the service technician working on my car is in the hospital. Had I not visited, then I probably would not have known this, and the other service technician I spoke to said they could not share any more details since they were not part of the servicing for my car. Martin Garcia ([email protected]) is supposed to be the middle-man between me and the dealership to help me address the issue, but I have not received information from his end either. When I called the Ford's number using (866) 631-3788 to get a hold of Martin Garcia, someone else assisted and I was told that he would call me tomorrow (08/14/2024) to give him an update on what the dealership shared with me. When reversing there is the absolute worst extremely loud embarrassing metallic screeching sound, considerable to a ships horn. Once you press brake fully and come to a complete stop the sounds ceases, let go of the brake it come right back. You can put it in drive and then back to reversing, same thing. Dealership was informed in 2022, said they fixed it. Spring/Summer of 2023 after complaining again was told part was ordered, could not be told what part. September 2023 was told no part was ordered, issue was fixed. October 2023 had a male take my bronco in for repairs and answers, parts are now reordered, parts are back ordered since this is a recall, no time frame on repair. When you check my vin for recalls, all recalls are closed. I am under the impression that my Dealership never has done recall work and only clearing them off as completed.

While driving on the highway at 65 mph the vehicle completely shut off. All electrical components stopped working as well. After the recall was “fixed” it still randomly will not turn on. My son and I slowed at a light to turn right. The vehicle completely shut down in traffic. We couldn’t put the car in neutral. We couldn’t turn the hazard lights on and couldn’t jump the vehicle. Luckily we were going slow traveling approx 10-15mph. Our emergency jump machine eventually worked after about 10 minutes, but the console screen remained blank and we drove straight to the dealer, but on Saturdays they don’t have any actual maintenance. The only thing they said they can do is test the battery. After a search on the internet, this has happened to lots of people. Some 2021 Ford Bronco Sports have been recalled, but mine isn’t listed. My question to Ford is, if this is a known issue why are they risking people’s lives? Again luckily we weren’t on the highway or even busier traffic.

As detailed by others on Ford forums, my vehicle experienced a total electronic failure after a 20 minute drive with minimal electronics on. After stopping and turning the vehicle off for 10 minutes, the vehicle would not start and the lights and electronic systems were flashing erratically. There were no warning signs to this and there was no chance that the battery had died. Jumping the car did not remedy the issue. This poses a significant inconvenience and potential safety hazard to consumers.

While driving today, this car abruptly stopped in the middle of the road. it would not restart and it was puttering over and over and popping for no reason it was resulted in me being stranded in the middle of a busy arterial for three hours. I called roadside assistance to jumpstart the vehicle and within three minutes it did the same thing is shut down at the corner. I was able to get into a parking lot and assess the issue and I actually had them jumpstart once again. I sat for 15 minutes and drove to an auto shop. They stated that there was no issue with the starter battery or alternator. However, there was a PCM code that popped up, which was related to the computer system of the vehicle. This was a very scary occurrence and I cannot believe that Car just randomly stops in the middle of the road while driving. My brother who owns his car drives over the highway every other day between two cities and I cannot imagine what will happen if they shut down on the highway.

There is an electrical issue with the cars running lights, headlights and interior lighting. Intermittently, when the car is shut off and either locked or unlocked, the cars running lights, and/or headlights, and/or interior lighting fail to shut off. This occurs BEYOND the 30 to60 minute delay feature. This happens when you lock the door from the door lock or the key fob. In all cases the car has to be unlocked and relocked, trying either, or re-starting the car, shutting it off and locking the car again. At some point the battery will fail before its 60 months.

My 2021 Bronco Sport has a stress crack in the windshield and it is very concerning because on the Facebook forum, I am seeing tons of Bronco Sport owners having the same issue. Some owners are on their 2nd to 4th windshield. Ford is not taking responsibility for this issue and is having owners submit to their auto insurance. I’m very concerned for the safety and integrity of the windshields that are being put in these vehicles. I’m getting mine replaced but how can I trust that it won’t happen again. I’m very scared that it will shatter while driving.

My Check Engine Light came on today. I went to Advance Auto Parts and had them check the code (P0171). They could not diagnose my car or loan me a safe vehicle. They sent me away in an unsafe vehicle. I am to bring the car back in the morning at 8am. I believe this problem is due to the open recall. I also believe all of the damaged parts that my car came with have depreciated the value of my car. I’ve driven Fords exclusively for 20 years. I’ve never had a Ford like this Bronco. Nothing but a nightmare. Tomorrow I hope the dealership fixes my problem or loans me a safe vehicle to pick my grandsons up from school in. Thank you.

Purchased the Bronco Sport brand new in September 2021. Almost from the outset, the vehicle has been a nightmare. We just purchased our third battery. The vehicle died at an intersection and had to be towed to the dealership. They replaced the battery but it again failed. We have experienced numerous electrical issues with the vehicle as well as with the brakes and the power train. We have had the shift system fault notification come on several times. We took it in to the dealership who made some repairs and the notification went away for awhile. However, most recently, we were driving the vehicle down the interstate when it suddenly would not accelerate. We were very lucky to be able to maneuver the vehicle onto the shoulder. After a few minutes, the vehicle started and we were able to drive it home very slowly on side roads. We took the Bronco Sport to the dealership again and notified them of the multiple trips we had made there to fix this code issue. The dealership did a diagnostic and had a transmission specialist look at the car. The conclusion was that we needed a brand new transmission to the tune of $11K. Additionally, the dealership stated that we likely had rear differential issues as well - the subject of one of the many recalls on this lemon of a vehicle. We have not had the diagnostic performed as we are waiting on Ford to let us know if they will buy back the vehicle. Again, we purchased the car new and it has about 80K miles on it. There is no discernible reason for the transmission to fail on a car this new which has primarily been driven to and from work. A quick Google and social media search shows this is a pervasive problem with the 2021 Bronco Sport - many owners are experiencing electrical, power train and transmission issues. NHTSA needs to investigate this matter before someone is seriously injured or killed because of the failure of Ford in manufacturing the 2021 Bronco Sport.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle sputtered while accelerating or making a left or right turn. The vehicle was returned to the dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle with a failed high-pressure purge valve. The high-pressure purge valve was replaced. The contact stated that after the repair, the check engine warning light remained illuminated, and the vehicle seemed as if the vehicle was going to stall after refueling the vehicle. The vehicle was returned to the dealer, who diagnosed a failed high-pressure sensor for the fuel injector. The vehicle was repaired, but the check engine warning light remained illuminated. While driving approximately 5 MPH, the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed. The contact pulled over to the side of the road, where the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed failures with the alternator and suspension. The contact had the vehicle towed to a certified mechanic who completed the repairs. The contact stated that the vehicle had not experienced the failures again; however, the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, Medford Ford Inc, (186 NJ-70, Medford, NJ 08055); who determined that the coolant reservoir was empty. The coolant reservoir was refilled. The dealer also retrieved DTC: P3402. The check engine warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was not repaired. Since the purchase of the Bronco Sport in 2021, I have intermittently taken it in for required service. However, there have been times when I have had to take it in for hearing noise coming from when I make turns, and it sounded like my break pads were making the sound of wear. A recent report did address the break pad concern, and they were replaced. Intuitively something told me to check my fluid levels and the engine air filter, along with the cabin air filter. They both needed replacing, which I did on my own. The mechanic who put on my break asked me questions about the Bronco, I explained to him that I was having issues with take off, and have had to take it in for recalls since make the purchase. He asked me to open the hood. What he found was oil leaking around was oil leaking around my turbo. I was shocked. Because it had not been long since it was serviced. I was told to not drive it too far because there were reports of some Broncos catching on fire. When I would take it in to Town AND Country Ford, where it was purchased, they would tell me that they could not find anything wrong repeatedly, supposedly one of the recalls was fixed. Yet, I still hear the noise when I make turns. Another Ford dealership around the corner from where I live and I decided to take it there to see if I could get different results. No help. They have changed my oil I hope. Then there is Bates Ford in Lebanon, Tennessee. I have taken it there for oil change and informed them of issues. This is the last dealership who inspected the Bronco. They did not tell me about the oil leak. I drive 10 miles to work weekly. 100 miles every other month to visit elderly relatives. So, I have not put too much wear and tear on the Bronco and do not drive it hard. Please, If you are able to help in this area, it is much appreciated. I have 54,000 miles on it

In 2021 i purchased a brand new Bronco Sport Big Bend with the hopes that it will last as long as the previous Bronco models. Unfortunately, 3 years later i took the vehicle to a Ford dealership, and to my surprise the transmission needs to be replaced. Being a vehicle that is regularly driven by my pregnant wife is an issue that Ford needs to be accountable for. There were no engine lights on, the only warning was a noise i noticed when driving the vehicle myself in the highway. I understand that transmission failed throughout the course of the years, but to a 3 year old Ford Bronco Sport is just ridiculous and not safe at all. The vehicle is currently at the dealership, Ford has agreed to pay 5k towards the replacement but i still have to come up with more than 7k to get it fix. If i knew i would be having Transmission issues so early in the life of the vehicle, i wouldn't have purchased a new car in the first place. This is definitely a safety hazard and i am sure this is not the only Bronco Sport with a torque converter being faulty, causing the transmission to slip.

This newer 2021 Ford Bronco Sport stopped working and lost all power on Feb 21, 2024. The vehicle had just 37,031 miles on it. To problem solve, A neighbor jumped it. I turned the vehicle off after a few minutes and it would not turn over and start again. We jumped it again and let it run for about 10-15 minutes. Thinking it was safe to drive, I turned out of my parking lot thinking it was fine and the vehicle began to shake and putter as though it was losing power. It felt unsafe to drive it so I pulled back into my driveway and had it towed to the dealership for repair. Ford dealer told me it was the battery. Since then I’ve had issues with the drivers side window getting stuck when rolled all the way down, sometimes the vehicle has a hard time “catching” to start when I press the break and the power button simultaneously, it also feels like its lulling into between gears when I am going at a low speed. Basically the Vehicle feels like there is an electronic issue. I paid $517.50 for a new battery and labor. A battery should not be failing at 37k miles on a car that was bought brand new. I’ve leased and bought brand new cars since 1992 and I’ve never had to replace a battery on a new vehicle. Now, for the past week, this vehicle feels very tight and sounds like it’s almost grinding when I turn right or left out of my parking stall at home. It feels like there is a power train issue .

The rear axle differential. The rear axle is making a bumping and grinding noise upon acceleration and when turning at low speed as if the axle is going to fail. It happens during right and left turns but right turns are worse. The vehicle was taken in for diagnostics, and there is a TSB for suggested repairs. The parts needed to be ordered.

A few weeks ago, my Ford Bronco Sport (Big Bend) starting jolting when I made slow turns to the right. It has since increased the jolting/seizing with a grinding noise since it began. My car has been looked at for this issue in which Chastang Ford replaced both frontal control arms stating this was causing the jolting. However, my car continued to jolt/seize on slow right turns. I took it back to Chastang Ford, and they said the RDU fluid needs replaced along with the hose. Their labor costs were high, so I got a second opinion at FireStone. The mechanic at FireStone told me the RDU needs to be assessed and gave me information about a recall for this issue. This recall is not assigned to my vehicle, but it is believed that is the problem. Reference#: 21V011000, Ford Recall#: 21S02 It was determined by the service assistance that my car didn't come from the plant this recall was initiated for, but it's still the problem. I called Legacy Ford (who I bought the car from), and they stated they would have to replace the hose and fluid. However, this wouldn't have happened if there was enough lubricant to begin with which is what this recall is addressing. I would like this issue to be addressed by NHTSA on other Ford Bronco Sports dealing with this issue as well as Ford as it is also not covered under my extended warranty.

I bought my Bronco back in January this year (2024) and everything worked great. Then fast forward the end of May (2024) and my car when I got in it and crunk it up told me my MyKey had been activated. I said what is a MyKey never heard of it before in my life. I did some Google searches and tried to figure out. Once I figured it and couldn't get it off of there myself I took it to a Ford dealership. They told me the MyKey had to have the admin key and they would have to cut one etc and then the labor all together would be 400 dollars. I was floored how did this even happen? Who put the MyKey on here? It restricts the speed which you can go, only allows the radio so high, and you have to be buckled for the radio to play its crazy. So I call the dealership which I bought it from, Hendrick, my car was used and had about 39k miles on it. They don't know about MyKey either they sell used cars, but their main cars are Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep Ram. The used car guy said he would pay 200 for the key but not the labor that we had our car long enough it was time we took responsibility for it. Fast forward I reach out to Ford. The lady at Ford who said she was just a media specialist says oh just pay the money and keep the receipt. That if Ford does a recall in the future you will be reimbursed. I told her that this response was unsatisfactory as it creates a safety issue. I told her I was taking the car to Ford for recalls that needed to be fixed the next week and I would asked them how it got set. She didn't know how it got set either. The previous Ford dealership said he didn't know and that it could have been the previous owner but he couldn't confirm. So I went to the Ford dealership in Auburn this time to have the recall fixed and the lady at thr service center said yes the MyKey is only activated off the Ford app. My wife nor myself had the Ford app at the time this started which means the previous owner still had access to my key and set these limits. Our 2021 Bronco just suddenly died while driving. We were in a parking lot, moving, and it just quit. The Bronco would not restart and on the display screen it said "requires a manual start". It was not the battery, and the engine sounded like it was flooded. Thankfully, we were in a parking lot and not driving very fast. While we were waiting for a tow for over an hour, and we got the car to start and were able to drive it home. We called Ford, and their only response was if it happens again to let them know. It happened again a couple weeks later. This time while driving on a road going about 30 mph. We were lucky and able to glide into a parking lot. It was very scary because it just died. We called Ford and made an appointment to have it checked out. We were charged $1117 to replace the fuel pump ($1000 was for labor). When I questioned why a fuel pump would go bad when the vehicle is only two years old. The response was "cars aren't built like they used to be". I want our experience documented as we were very lucky that we were not injured when our vehicle died while driving. Until these incidents, there was no indication that there was anything wrong with the vehicle. We have learned that this has happened to other people as well when we Googled it. It is a huge safety concern. We now have received a Ford notice about a safety recall describing the exact issues we experienced.

LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
1 complaint
While driving vehicle will flash place hands on wheel while hands are on the wheel. It will then turn off sound system and cut off adaptive features until I shake my steering wheel irrationally to the left and right. It will also jerk the vehicle into other lanes to try and correct to stay in lane, while I'm inside of the lines issuing the adaptive driving features. If there is a break in the lines, ie: turning lane or intersection the adaptive wants to jerk course into other lanes. While driving down the expressway, if a car on either side brakes around me the collision control takes over and slams on the brakes. Most of the limits near me are 70!! Going 70 and slamming down to 50 before i can regain control has almost gotten me killed several times here in Florida!! I've informed dealership, but they claim the sensors are not throwing codes. This also has been happening since purchasing this vehicle.

Around 08/22 backup camera failed and now there is a dent in the tailgate area. I have documentation from the dealership, finally that the backup camera was not working properly. On about May 23, 2023, I stopped at a local grocery store for just a few items. When I came back out my car would not even attempt to turn over (approx. 24,000 miles). Had to wait three hours for roadside assistance to use a jump box to get it started (would not jump-start like a normal vehicle). The next morning it was dead again, and I had to call an Uber to get my child to school, not acceptable. I took it to the dealership again, and after three days they replaced the battery.....I had not even owned the vehicle for two years, it had 6 miles on it when I bought it, and it needs a new battery? Now it is 09/22/23, the dealership has had my car since the morning of 09/13/23 and I still don't have it back. There are issues with the safety features (lane departure doesn't work, front crash assist goes off randomly, backup camera STILL doesn't work half of the time, keep hands on steering wheel alert when both hands are on steering wheel, key not detected alert after I've been driving and the key is with me, stereo still playing when I disconnect the phone and exit out of all music apps on phone it just still plays music even music that I have never listened to). There is more but I cannot remember it all at the moment, and I don't have all of my records because they are with my car that I have not had in my possession in quite a while. DON'T BUY A BRONCO! BUY A JEEP!!!! That is what I have learned from this, my first and only Ford and I can't wait to go back to Mopar products. I have truly bought a lemon!

Beginning at approximately 25,000 miles the vehicle started exhibiting stuttering at low speeds (<10 mph) while turning. this happened in both forward and reverse and turning either direction. I originally reported it as possible CV joint issue. Dealer informed me it was a known issue and drained and replaced the RDU fluid. Issue went away but resurfaced around the 50,000 mile mark. same results that the issue went away. Issue came once again at ~ 75,000 miles at which point I was informed that it was no longer covered by warranty. I paid to have same "fix" done, however the issue did not go away. Ford has stated that they will not cover cost of repair even though this is an existing issue identified under warranty and not corrected. Issue currently has a NHTSA communication (10187981)

On Monday 7-24-2023 5:00pm rush hour in Downtown Gainesville Fl at a red light in the left lane about to turn left my car completely shutoff with no warning. It was if someone disconnected the battery completely from the car. No lights, No screen, No ignition. The traffic light turned green and I immediately pressed my foot on the brake and tried to start the engine. I noticed there were not lights, no sounds and no reaction from the engine. Windows would not go down either. I tried too put the hazards on to signal people and they had no power. The car was completely dead in the road. I jumped out of the drivers seat to warn people to go around me but traffic was whipping around me so I started to panic. I got back in the drivers seat to try and restart the car a few more times. I pressed the ignition and noticed the dash board and welcome screen flashing on and off repeatedly without success. I wanted to put the car in neutral. but the shiffter was stuck I drive and the emergency electric brake was engaged. After about 30 minutes the police came to direct traffic and he stayed with us for almost 2 hours while we waited for a tow truck. In the mean time we tried jumping the battery and for a split second the car lights on the inside all came on. Every light in the car lit up for a split second and then it totally died again. The wheels were locked so it had to be dragged onto a flat bed truck and taken to Parks Ford Gainesville. The next day I were told by [XXX] , a service technician at Parks Ford that he could not locate the issue but he called it a Catastrophic Fail and he had to call in a Master technician to look at my car and that would be the end of this week or beginning of next. This is a very dangerous thing. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My husband was driving down a mountain highway when suddenly he heard a loud noise. He pulled over and found the moonroof glass had shattered. There were no cars around and no signs that something had hit it—we think it was glass failure due to a pressure change. Ford has had issues with moonroof glass spontaneously shattering on other vehicles and there are a few reports online about it happening to other Bronco Sports. Ford will not take responsibility and says we need to file an insurance claim. This is a major safety issue—my husband could have been seriously injured if the moonroof cover had been open and glass had fell on him.

this has happened twice to me. First time, I was driving around a roundabout - and the engine kicked off and there were a lot of alerts across the screen. I was safely able to coast off the road and onto the side where I sat for a little bit trying to restart it. After pushing the start button several times - it started back up and I was on my way. Most recently, last week - I was driving on the highway and the engine died and so many alerts were going across the screen. I couldn't pay much attention to the errors because a semi almost rammed my back end. I was on an incline on an off ramp and was trying to coast to the side as much as I could. It was too scary to monitor what was happening on the screen. I sat there trying to restart the Bronco and after several tries - it started back up and I was able to drive away. The Bronco is at the Dealership right now for them to look it over. No warning messages or anything - the engine shut down and then the alerts started. It appeared to be like every alert that could come up. There were so many. I also have the squealing and loud brakes. On back up .... they scream bloody murder. It is so embarrassing.
