I believe the transmission has an issue. The car was started and it quickly went into reverse and sped up trapping my wife between the door and a tree as she was exiting the vehicle to swap seats for me to drive. No known warnings were issued by the vehicle prior to the incident on 6/7/2025. The previous recall for the BCM & PCM was completed on 2/27/2025 by our local Ford dealer

I Was in Reverse backing out and stopped with the brake and rolled the gear dial to drive until foot off brake and it stayed stuck in reverse and I moved backwards and hit a car behind me. I braked again and looked to make sure I was in drive, And I was. Then, i took my foot off thee brake and it moved forward. Also I notice a big delay in drive after having brake applied. I think the gears are sticking. Or even a 2-4 second delay to switch from gear to gear.

extreme loud vibrating noise coming from sunroof while driving at or above 35 mph. it may be bad design for rubber seal and body trim for the sunroof. for example: automatic car washing - hard rolling brushes hitting the top of the vehicle during the wash process, then there is the high pressure water rinsing from different directions, followed by a high wind vortex that causes every exterior surface extreme pressure and force. so, a few trips to the car wash, now causes your sunroof seal failure which may lead to a sunroof blow out while driving at 60mph on the high way... please ALERT ALL to this danger. sunroof seal failure. sunroof blowout. sunroof vibrating.

I have cut my arm two times on the door lock while exiting the vehicle. The door lock sticks out and the point is very sharp. I have blood thinner issues and it could cause severe problems. It occurs when the door cannot be opened all the way and you turn to exit. This needs to be rounded off and the flashing from casting the part needs to be sanded off

The Heritage edition of the Bronco Sport has a piece white trim on the dashboard that causes a very distracting reflection on the windshield directly in the driver's line of sight. I feel there should be a recall for this piece of trim — replacing it with the regular dark strip used on the other Bronco Sport editions. Thank you for your consideration!

While driving on the freeway, my Ford's sunroof spontaneously shattered. There were no vehicles in front of me, I live in San Diego County and the weather was in the mid-60's and I did not have my air on. It sounded like an explosion or gunshot. I immediately pulled off on to the shoulder and saw the shattered sunroof, and since I was about to exit to my house, I continued home and called the California Highway Patrol to report a potential gunshot to my vehicle. However, when the office arrived, he believed it was an implosion from the inside of the vehicle outward. This did appear to be the correct assessment as there was no glass inside the vehicle (I had seen glass fragments falling around the outside of my vehicle and in front of my windshield at the time of the explosive sound). Also, the glass was bent out towards the top of the vehicle consistent with an inside to outside breakage. I took it to my local Ford dealership and Ford has accepted responsibility for the defect and will replace my damaged sunroof at their cost.

When I start my Bronco, daily, there a vibration even as I drive out of my garage. Once I’m on the road I don’t feel the vibration. I have taken my Bronco to the dealer 2-3 times and they tell me the Bronco doesn’t do as I stated to them. I can’t make this up, I think the mechanics are not sure what is wrong. I love my Bronco and have owned many fords over the years and have never had this issue. They did tell me, I should drive it more and the vibration should stop. At least they admitted it was happening. I drive 16 miles a day, so I’m not sure how much I should drive daily , I’ve never been told I should drive more

All 4 Continental PRO CONTACT TX tires on 1 week old brand new purchased Ford Bronco Sport VIN [XXX] from Ford Dealer Swelling on Sidewalls in various points. After researching amongst other Bronco Sport Forums issue appears to be common failure on New Bronco Sports equipped with Continental PRO CONTACT TX tires. Requested tires to be changed at Dealer, they found 1 Bronco Sport with Balled up Sidewall issues and wanted to replace "like for like" admitting they have a some sort of FACTORY defect but would not exchange tires for ones with "OUT" Factory Defect. I believe there is Faulty Construction on Sidewall of tire or Like FORD Dealer stated some sort of MANUFACTURER DEFECT. On certain CONTINENTAL PRO CONTACT TX tires from Factory. Symptoms were first noticed 6 days after having possession of new vehicle. And the Swelling appears to be moving TOWARDS the tire TREAD itself. The swelling has become increasingly noticeable and raises concerns about the safety and performance of these tires for my Family Vehicle and others having the same issues. Given the importance of tire integrity for vehicle safety, I believe this issue warrants immediate attention and investigation. I would appreciate it if you could investigate this matter and advise on any necessary actions or precautions that should be taken. Ensuring the safety of consumers is crucial, and I trust that NHTSA will address this issue promptly. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I’d like to open a customer concern case. While I was driving on the freeway on, my gas tank was punctured after hitting debris in the road. It was a standard highway situation—not off-roading or anything extreme. The fact that the gas tank was damaged to the point of leaking or requiring repair is very concerning. It was a very large rupture. I believe the underbody protection may not be adequate, and I’m worried this could be a design or safety issue. I’ve taken photos and have a repair estimate. It was a very dangerous situation as one spark from heat could have sent my brand new Bronco sport into flames. This all happened on the 5 freeway on the grapevine in California. I consider myself very lucky

I reached out to ford due to my 2024 bronco sport overheating and running hot. During the time of that complaint I was advised that my bronco currently has a recall that the fuel tank needs to be replaced but it is currently being deemed as non safety and will only be addressed if the vehicle is in for service. I was also advised that due to this recall it is currently a part of fords customer satisfaction program. Anything fuel related should be deemed as a safety recall considering fuel is a flammable chemical. I have requested a buy back as I no longer feel safe operating the vehicle or comfortable transporting my daughter in the vehicle as it aligns too closely with the known fuel safety recall currently present on some 2021-2024 bronco sports.

The Powertrain of this Ford Bronco Sport (2024) with only 12,000 miles on it malfunctioned while the driver was on a major highway. No control over gears, engine power, etc. Had to pull over in heavy traffic. Fortunately there was a shoulder, or this would have been a major safety risk for the driver and other vehicles and would likely have resulted in an accident. Apparently, this malfunction is related to battery issues as well and can affect the emergency caution flashers. The vehicle was inspected by Ford after being towed to a local dealership and was told that this was part of a recall on other Ford Broncos. A few days later, was told that Ford dealership was replacing the transmission and other parts.

SERVICE BRAKES
1 complaint
• What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection? The brake system on my 2024 Ford Bronco Sport failed to respond for approximately 2–3 seconds after I pressed the brake pedal. This occurred immediately after freeing my foot from underneath the gas pedal while cruise control was active. The vehicle is available for inspection. • How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle did not slow down when the brake pedal was fully pressed, causing me to enter an intersection while other vehicles were turning. I had to swerve to avoid a collision, but another vehicle entered my path and a crash occurred. The braking delay directly increased the risk of a serious accident. • Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service center? UNKNOWN. I have not yet had a dealership or service center attempt to reproduce or diagnose the issue. • Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance, or others? The accident was documented by police and insurance, but the mechanical issue itself has not yet been inspected for cause. • Were there any warning lamps, messages, or symptoms prior to the failure? When did they appear? There were no warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms before the brake failure. The brakes simply did not respond when pressed. • Description of the incident: While traveling northbound on Sterling Ave approaching Truman Rd, the light turned yellow. I attempted to brake, but my foot was caught under the accelerator due to cruise control being engaged. After freeing my foot, I pressed the brake firmly, but the brakes did not respond for approximately 2–3 seconds. I swerved left to avoid turning traffic and sounded my horn. Another vehicle continued its turn and my front passenger quarter panel struck its rear passenger quarter panel at about 15 mph. The brakes only began functioning after the vehicle jerked from evasive steering input.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
1 complaint
I don’t know the exact name of the system that failed but my Bronco would not accelerate after making complete stops. When I would press on the gas pedals to move from a stopped position the Bronco would move very very slowly which in turn almost caused me to have over 3 car accidents as when I would press the gas to move from a stopping position it would move forward very slowly no matter who much pressure I would put on the gas pedal which in turn the oncoming cars almost hit me. I took the Bronco to the dealership and they said they had to reprogram the acceleration but that it could take up to 500 miles for the issue to be corrected. I believe from my experience this is dangerous and not safe! And should be addressed. This incident has happened several times not one.

I have contacted ford directly and they still have not gotten a remedy for the unrepaired recall. My spouse and I went on a road trip that was 20 hour trip in total. They told us to keep driving it until it catches on fire because they did not have a remedy for it yet. We had just taken it in for an oil change and had them look the vehicle over due to the rpms keep jumping up even when going at low speed. The vehicle keeps loosing power and shakes when at idle or even when it starts up. We told ford about the smell of fuel or something when we walk by the hood of the vehicle and they said there was nothing wrong with it and that they didnt notice or smell anything when they did the oil change. When we talked to ford about our concern with the vehicle and that were were afraid to drive it especially since we have a baby and that we were told to continue driving it until it catches fire. We have a 9 month old who is in the vehicle daily due to having to go daycare. i am afraid for him being in the vehicle and it catching on fire or anything and not having enough time to get him out of the vehicle. Something needs to be done pronto or a law suit will be brought up

When coming from a stop at a traffic light vehicle losses power for approximately 15-20 seconds. This puts the driver of the vehicle, passengers, and other vehicle drivers operating on the roadway in danger of a major collision, possible bodily harm or even death. We have twice taken the vehicle to our dealership, where we purchased the vehicle; in order to fix the recall and we have had no success in gaining a remedy for the issues. The vehicle was seen twice by the Chandler, Arizona Earnheart Ford service department. There were no warning signs before the incident and they started appearing soon after the purchase of the vehicle. We have notice that the hotter it is outside the more frequent the loss of power occurs.

The vehicle was bought brand new in February of this year, 2025. Was bought and has been driven by my daughter who turned [XXX] this year. She went to camp and the vehicle sat behind the house till she got back. the vehicle and front windshield face west and is exposed to the summer sun from 11:30 till 8pm. When she got back and went to drive the car on [XXX], there was a large stress crack in the middle of the windshield. (will attach pictures if possible with this online form). I had my neighbor check his security camera to see if anyone had vandalized the vehicle or if there had been any large object fall on the vehicle. after reviewing his recorded video, we both saw that no one touched the vehicle and that nothing fell on the windshield during the time it sat. I contacted Ford Motor Co. and they instructed me to take it to the dealership and have them take a look and then submit a claim if they thought it was a stress crack from the sun. I took the vehicle in to the dealership on June 26, 2025 and was told I would hear updates over the next few days. Over a week went by and I had to call the service dept at Wyatt Johnson Ford in Nashville. The Assistant service manager stated that Ford Warranty was denying the claim and stated that something else must have caused the crack. The Assistant Manager told me that the technician had written that they believed it was a stress crack from sun exposure and had submitted photos that backed up that claim. Also, on the work order, the Assistant Manager also wrote that it was a stress crack from sun exposure. There is a deep, horizontal crack in the middle of the windshield that has no origination marks or indentations which one would expect from the way that Ford Motor Warranty is denying the claim. I have asked the Assistant Manager to resubmit the claim and I sent him the photos I had taken as soon as it was first noticed. I was driving down the highway, and my moonroof exploded. I thought something had exploded or someone had shot at me. No other cars were around me that could have caused something to pop up and hit the roof. I did take it to the dealership service where photos were taken and submitted for a possible claim on the warranty. I only have about 2000 miles on the vehicle. My first payment isn't even due yet. Ford warranty declined the claim. It looked like it exploded upwards leading me to think this was an installation or material issue. Glass that exploded out flew off the roof of the vehicle scratching it as it dragged along. This could have hit another driver if one had been following behind me. I am currently awaiting a callback from the insurance adjuster.

The windshield on this vehicle is faulty. On online forms, others have commented on the same thing I am experiencing: the integrity of this windshield is so weak that within a couple months (sometimes just a few days) of having the vehicle, you can get multiple chips or cracks. On my last chip, I was driving on a Michigan highway at least 30 yards from other vehicles when something chipped my windshield. I've had the windshield chip while going 65mph on the high way, and also while my vehicle was at a standstill at a red light and the car in front of me pulled away quickly, kicking up debris. People often comment that they cannot afford to constantly keep up with the unending number of repairs needed to fix the windshield. As a result, they're driving with reduced visibility which impacts all drivers on the road. ADAS is built into the windshield- if cracks/chips occur in this area, the ADAS can become compromised. The windshield also contributes to the strength of the vehicle in rollovers- lack of stuctural integrtiy due to cracks/chips impacts that. Being an SUV that sits higher, the Bronco Sport is more prone to rollovers that lower sitting vehicles. Because the cost of replacing the windshield through Ford is so high (over $1000) many opt not to replace it or use a non OEM, aftermarket windshield which might not work as well with safety systems. This issue has been inspected by a Safelite auto glass technician - he remarked that this is extremely common with the Bronco Sport, this vehicle is one of the most common models he repairs. This component is available for inspection upon request.

Upon attempting to start vehicle every warning indicator flashed in series across the screen and the SUV would not start nor was the vehicle lockable. Also, the rear door and access glass (where tools, safety equipment, and spare tire is located) could not be opened. The vehicle would not start and could not be placed in neutral to push the vehicle to a safe location. The manufacturer informed me a "failure to communicate" was indicated in their system. Had this occurred in an unsafe location such as on a highway or in a physically dangerous location occupants would be placed in danger from other moving vehicles and/or criminal activity. Operators of this model MUST 1.) Be able to place the vehicle in neutral when needed. 2.) Be able to manually open the rear liftgate and/or rear glass to obtain safety and repair equipment. 3.) Be able to manually lock the vehicle as needed to secure both occupants and contents. I have scheduled a maintenance visit/repair with an authorized Ford dealer in Joplin, Missouri to address multiple instances of "Loss of Communication" as reported to Ford Motor Corp.

On [XXX], my 2024 Ford Bronco Sport spontaneously burst into flames while driven by my [XXX] son. Per a local bystander, there was smoke and fire observed around the undercarriage as he drove down the road. Multiple vehicles began honking while stopped at a red light. A driver alerted my son of the fire. He was able to evacuate along with his [XXX] sister. As they were fleeing to the median of an active highway, the vehicle burst into flames. After several explosions the vehicle continued to burn and melt until the fire dept extinguished the flames. Prior to spontaneous combustion, there were no symptoms of gas leaks or error messages. Nor were there any fluid leaks. There were no error messages or signs of vehicle distress even while my children were driving & engulfed in flames. If bystanders had not flagged down my son, my children may have still been inside the vehicle when the fire & explosions consumed them. The fire department ultimately inspected the vehicle for damage. I am still awaiting their report. Initial conversations on the scene indicated an engine fire. On June 11th, my insurer commissioned an engineer to inspect the vehicle for causation. No report currently available. The vehicle was brand new; purchased just 6 weeks ago. At the time we purchased, 2022 & 2023 models had an open safety recall for fire risk due to a fuel injection defect. There were no reported design updates for the 2024 model. Nor were the recall fixes recommended in Feb 2024 installed on my Bronco purchased late April. It is my position that both Ford & the dealership knew or should have known the 2024 models would have the same defect and fire risk. Disturbing they sold their defective vehicle to my family. The dealership claims no responsibility or obligation to disclose risks. Ford refuses to speak with me given total loss status. My only recourse now is through my insurance. My children remain traumatized by their near death experience. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
