When driving at night and early mornings my head lights and tail lights will randomly go out when my light switch is set to automatic. I can turn it on manually and then I have head lights and brakes but no running tail lights. Which is a major problem and safety hazard.

A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO WHILE ON VACATION 200 MILES FROM HOME WITH MY FAMILY THE HEADLIGHTS SUDDENLY WENT OUT. AFTER A LITTLE INSPECTION I FOUND WE STILL HAD FLASH TO PASS HIGH BEAMS. THE NEXT DAY (JULY 3RD) I WENT TO THE LOCAL DEALER AND THE PARTS HOUSES AND NO ONE HAD A REPLACEMENT. AS A FORMER USAF JET ENGINE MECHANIC I WENT BACK TO THE CAMPER AND FOUND A WIRING DIAGRAM. I FIGURED OUT IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE LIGHTING CONTROL MODULE. I TOOK IT APART AND REPLACED THE DEFECTIVE RELAY. WE FINISHED OUR VACATION AND I SOON FORGOT THE ISSUE. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE MODULE AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPLACEMENT. I WAS INFORMED BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT SINCE I HAD REPAIRED THE PART FORD WOULD NOT TAKE IT BACK SO THEY COULD NOT HELP ME. I HAD THE SNEAKING FEELING I WAS BEING LIED TO. I WENT HOME AND RESEARCHED THE RECALL. I FOUND THE REPAIR DOES NOT EVEN INVOLVE REPLACING THE PART BUT TAPS INTO THE WIRING BEFORE THE MODULE. I CALLED FORD CORP AND WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT AS THEY WEREN'T A TECHNICIAN BUT THEY STOOD BY THEIR DEALERS DECISION. I DON'T FEEL THAT I SHOULD BE PUNISHED FOR DOING WHAT IT TOOK TO GET MY FAMILY HOME SAFELY. I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM

ON APRIL 14TH 2017 A RECALL WAS ISSUED (RECALL ID = 264137) ON 2003-2005 FORD CROWN VICTORIA'S MANUFACTURED OCTOBER 3RD, 2001 THROUGH AUGUST 2ND, 2005. NHTSA CAMPAIGN # = 15V861000. THE RECALL WAS ON THE AFFECTED COMPONENT, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, HEADLIGHTS. I HAVE A FORD CROWN VICTORIA THAT WAS MANUFACTURED IN MAY OF 2002 THAT HAS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. YET WHEN I CONTACT FORD ABOUT THE ISSUE THEY SAID MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. WORKING WITH A MAJOR AUTOMOBILE COMPANY PREVIOUSLY IN HONDA OF AMERICA, I TRIED TO UNDERSTAND WHY YET FOUND NO RELIABLE ANSWERS. I'VE BEEN HAVING THIS ISSUE FOR MULTIPLE YEARS WHERE MY HEADLIGHT WILL COME ON AND JUST SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING.

THEY WERE RECALLED BY FORD, BUT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT THAT PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, YAVAPAI-APACHE POLICE IN CAMP VERDE, AZ, NEVER HAD THEM REPLACED. I AM CONSTANTLY ADDING AIR TO MY TIRES. HAVE BEEN DRIVING THE CAR BACK AND FORTH TO WORK UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS. THEN REALIZED THE CAR HAD A FLAT, THEN TOOK TO THE LOCAL TIRE SHOP. WHILE IN MOTION, CAR BEGAN MAKING A GRINDING NOISE FROM REAR. WHAT I THOUGH MIGHT BE A BAD TIRE OR FAILED BRAKE TURNED OUT TO BE A LEAKING REAR AXLE SEAL , DAMAGED AXLE SHAFTS AND BEARINGS. THIS IS THE EXACT RECALL UNDER 04S16 WHICH APPLIES TOWARD 2003 FLEET CV'S. FORD CONTINUALLY DISAPPOINTS AS I WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR VIN IS NOT INCLUDED. I HAD A SIMILAR INCIDENT WITH MY LCM (LIGHTING CONTROL MODULE)-- HAD TO PAY REPAIR AND SAVE RECEIPTS FOR 2 YEARS UNTIL FORD FESSED UP AND EXPANDED RECALL AND FINALLY GOT A REFUND. AS OF THIS INCIDENT, THE CAR IS A PASSENGER FAMILY VEHICLE IN GREAT SHAPE/CARE WITH APPROXIMATELY 110,000 MILES ON IT. 4.6 V8 ENGINE. I EXPECT A FULL REFUND FOR THIS REPAIR WHICH IS EFFECTING OTHERS AND COULD HAVE KILLED ME AND MY FAMILY. I CALLED 1(800)392-3673 FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONS AND WAS TOLD TO TUCK MY RECEIPT IN WALLET AND WAIT TO SEE IF A RECALL IS EVER ISSUED. 2003 CROWN VICTORIA 57000 MILES. MY CROWN VICTORIA WAS MANUFACTURED AT THE ST THOMAS ASSEMBLY PLANT DURING TIME FRAME IN QUESTION IN REGARDS TO RECALL NUMBER 04S16. AT 57000 MILES IT DEVELOPED A NOTICEABLE NOISE AND VIBRATION EMANATING FROM THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL. UPON INSPECTION THE AXLES WERE SHOWN TO BE WORN SEVERELY. FORD HAS RECALLED "ONLY POLICE AND FLEET" CROWN VICTORIA DUE TO THERE "SEVERE" USE AND HAS DEEMED ALL OTHER MODELS BUILT ON THE SAME ASSEMBLY LINE, WITH THE SAME DEFECTIVE PARTS UNWORTHY OF ATTENTION. THIS IS A BLATANT DISREGARD FOR CONSUMER SAFETY, THE THE GENERAL PUBLIC. THE PARTS ARE KNOWN, AND HAVE SHOWN TO BE DEFECTIVE IF PLACE UNDER HEAVY LOAD. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT I AM THE ONLY ONE THAT'S MADE A COMPLAINT. PLS GET THIS FIXED IM 67 AND WITH CANCER MY ONLY WAY OF GETTING AROUND. PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP THIS IS SERIOUS. AFTER A COUPLE OF MONTHS, THE STEERING SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING SHAFT BEARING FAILED AND THERE WAS HEAVY CORROSION ON THE SHAFT. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 123,000.

DRIVING STEADILY AT AROUND 30 MPH ON A CITY STREET. SUDDENLY THE STEERING STARTING BINDING MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO TURN. UPON EXAMINATION THERE WAS A LOT OF RUST ON THE LOWER INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT AND NEEDED AN IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENT. THE MECHANIC NOTED SEVERE CORROSION AND NOTED IT COULD HAVE FULLY BROKEN WITHOUT A LOT OF WARNING. SOME RESEARCH REVEALED THAT A RECALL WAS DONE FOR MODEL YEARS 2005-11 (13V385000). YOU MAY WANT TO EXTEND THIS TO 2003-2004 WHICH USE THE SAME STEERING COMPONENTS.

I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND THAT FORD ACTUALLY RECALLED 2005-2011 CROWN VICTORIA (NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V385000) FOR THAT SAME EXACT PROBLEM. I AM RESIDE IN ONE THE AFFECTED STATES UNDER THE RECALL HOWEVER FORD REFUSES TO HONOR THE RECALL STATING THAT MY VEHICLE VIN IS NOT AFFECTED AND MY VEHICLE IS A 2003. I DON'T THINK IT'S A COINCIDENCE MY VEHICLE JUST HAPPENS TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I WOULD LIKE TO INCLUDE AND EXCERPT FROM THE RECALL "THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN OCTOBER 21, 2013. FORD'S RECALL NUMBER IS 13S08. CUSTOMERS LOCATED IN NON-CORROSION STATES WHO HAVE CONCERNS REGARDING THEIR STEERING WILL HAVE A ONE-TIME OPTION TO HAVE THEIR VEHICLES INSPECTED AND, IF NECESSARY, REPAIRED." 2003 CROWN VICTORIA, WAS USING VEHICLE FOR COMMERCIAL USE DURING THE NIGHT HOURS, WHEN EXPERIENCED INTERMITTENT LOW BEAMS, CLOSER EXAMINATION FOUND THAT THE LCM LIGHTING CONTROL MODULE, LOCATED ABOVE BRAKE PEDAL HAD HEATED UP TO A TEMPERATURE FROM HIGH RESISTANCE OF SOLDERED CONTACT JOINTS NOT SUPPORTING REQUIRED VOLTAGE FOR LOW BEAMS WHEN TURNED ON. IT IS ONLY WHEN THE JOINTS COOL THAT THE LIGHTS WOULD COME ON ONLY TO END IN GOING OFF WHEN HEATING BACK UP. FOR THE COST OF THE LCM AT 400 BUX USED, I WAS FORCED TO BYPASS THE LCM BY INSTALLING A TOGGLE AND LATER THE HIGH BEAM FUNCTION CEASED TO OPERATE, WHICH THEN I ADDED A SECOND TOGGLE FOR THE HIGH BEAM FEATURE. THE A/C HAS TO BE INTEGRATED ON THE SAME BOARD AS THE A/C COMP ONLY KICKS ON APPROX. 15 MIN AFTER ENGINE IS WARM, RATHER THAN ON DEMAND. THIS IS A DEFINITE FACTORY DEFECT AS THE 03 IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM THE 02, AND MOST LIKELY WASN'T ADEQUATELY TESTED FOR THE MARKET. ON JULY 10 MY WIFE AND GRAND SON WERE RETURNING TO OUR FLORIDA HOME FROM AN AMUSEMENT PARK ABOUT AN HOURS RIDE WHEN THE HEAD LIGHTS WENT OUT ON MY 03 FORD CROWN VIC. SHE WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND AFTER 30 MINUTES TRYING DIFFERENT IDEAS THE LIGHT DID COME ON AND SHE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME FORTUNATELY WITH THE LIGHTS STAYING ON, IT WAS A NERVE RACKING EXPERIENCE FOR THEM. SINCE THEN IT HAS DONE IT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS DURING THE DAY AS I RUN WITH MY LIGHTS ON DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS. I HAVE SINCE FOUND THAT IT IS THE LCM UNIT(LIGHT CONTROL MODULE) THAT CONTROLS THE LIGHTS IN THIS 03 CROWN VIC AND THE 04,05 MODELS. I KNOW THAT YOU HAD AN INVESTIGATION INTO THIS RECURRING PROBLEM AND CLOSED IT WHEN YOU DID NOT WARRANT A RECALL EVEN AFTER MANY COMPLAINTS, SOME OF THEM VERY SCARY ON DARK BACK ROADS. I HAVE A 2003 FORD EXCURSION DIESEL TURBO 6.0 ENGINE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER AT LEAST 5 TIMES SINCE THE ABOVE DATE FOR A/C PROBLEMS & SHUTTING OFF ON ME. The contact owns a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the contact smelled an abnormal coolant odor. The contact inspected the vehicle and noticed there was corrosion and a crack near the intake and radiator hose. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the intake manifold needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

WE OWN A 2003 FORD EXPEDITION WITH A 5.4 L, V-8 TRITON ENGINE. WHILE DRIVING WE HEARD A LOUD BANG AND THEN IT SOUNDED LIKE THE ENGINE WAS BACK FIRING. WE SMELLED GAS AND A BURNING SMELL. WE HAD OUR EXPEDITION TOWED TO THE DEALER AND WERE INFORMED THAT SPARK PLUG #7 HAD BLOWN OUT OF THE HEAD, STRIPPING THE THREADS. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED US THAT THE HEAD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT AN ESTIMATED COST OF $3,500. WE HAD PREVIOUSLY TAKEN THIS EXPEDITION INTO FORD AT 72,723 MILES BECAUSE THE ENGINE LACKED POWER AND SURGED. WE WERE TOLD THAT SPARK PLUG #7 NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS WAS PRIOR TO THE FORD'S RECOMMENDATION OF A TUNE UP TO BE DONE AT 100,000. THEY REPLACED SPARK PLUG #7 UNDER WARRANTY, BUT WE WERE CHARGED TO REPLACE THE OTHER SPARK PLUGS. THIS IS THE SAME SPARK PLUG THAT BLEW OUT AT 108,411 MILES. WE HAVE CONTACTED MANY MECHANICS TO SEE WHAT OTHER OPTIONS WERE AVAILABLE. WE ATTEMPTED TO HAVE OUR EXPEDITION REPAIRED BY PLACING A RECOMMENDED PERMANENT THREAD REPLACEMENT INSERT PUT INTO THE #7 CYLINDER; WHICH DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE HAS LOW COMPRESSION IN #7 CYLINDER AND NEEDS A NEW ENGINE AT AN ESTIMATED COST OF $6,000. THE MECHANIC SHOPS THAT WE CONTACTED HAVE INFORMED US THAT THIS IS A FREQUENT PROBLEM WITH THE ALUMINUM HEADS ON THE FORD EXPEDITION AND SOME OTHER FORD TRUCKS. A REVIEW OF THE COMPLAINTS FILED WITH NHTSA SHOWS THAT THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM WITH THE FORD ENGINES. I TOOK CAR INTO MILLER FORD, PROVO AFTER RECEIVING RECALL, THEY SAID SWITCH WAS DEFECTIVE. AFTER 4 MONTHS OF NO COMMUNICATION CALLED AND THEY BLAMED FORD, CALLED AND COMPLAINED TO FORD, CASE# [XXX],SAID WOULD GET CALL DIST. MGR. WITHIN 48 HOURS NO CALLS. PROBLEM HEADLIGHTS GO OUT WHILE DRIVING. SIX WEEKS AGO WHILE DRIVING ON DARK ROAD LIGHTS WENT OUT AS A CHILD RAN ACROSS STREET WHILE TRAVELING 45MPH, ALMOST HIT CHILD. THIS IS A SAFETY RECALL THAT FORD IS NOT HANDLING IN A TIME MANNER GIVEN THE SAFETY DEFECT. I SAW SIMILAR REPORTS OF THIS FAILURE AND DECIDED TO ADD TO THE # OF COMPLAINTS, AS I EXPERIENCED THIS, TOO. UPON ACCELERATION UP A HILL, AIR FLOW THROUGH VENTS (A/C OR HEAT) WOULD STOP AND GO TO DEFROST, THEN RETURN AFTER CAR BEGAN "CRUISING" AGAIN. OVER TIME, AIR FLOW DEFAULTED TO ALWAYS BEING DEFROST. (I HAD HEARD THAT THIS DEFAULT POSITION UPON FAILURE WAS A SAFETY MANDATE.) WITHOUT A RECALL, THE COST WAS FULLY MINE, SO I CONSIDERED ALTERNATIVES. A DEALER SERVICE FOR THIS PROBLEM (REPLACE THE DASHBOARD'S ELECTRONIC AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL UNIT OR "EATC") WOULD HAVE BEEN MEGABUCKS (I HEARD $800 FOR THE UNIT, ITSELF) FOR PARTS AND LABOR. A REBUILT EATC BY MAIL ORDER (REBUILD MINE OR SWAP FOR MINE) WOULD HAVE BEEN $250-400 FOR THE PART ALONE. THE PROBLEM IS FAILED ORIGINAL O-RINGS ON THE VACUUM ACTUATORS WITHIN THE EATC; NOT A DEALER-OFFERED REPAIR. I REPAIRED IT MYSELF. I ORDERED 5/52" ID X 9/32" OD SILICONE O-RINGS (4 NEEDED, 1 FOR EACH ACTUATOR) AND REPLACED THEM ON THE NOZZLE OF EACH VACUUM ACTUATOR, REASSEMBLED AND REMOUNTED THE ACTUATORS, RECONNECTED THE VACUUM HOSES AND REINSTALLED THE EATC UNIT INTO THE DASHBOARD. AFTER MORE THAN 3 YEARS, THE EATC NOW CONTINUES TO OPERATE PROPERLY. COST OF PARTS (O-RINGS, SILICONE SPRAY AND DIELECTRIC GREASE) WAS ABOUT $30 AND 1 1/2 HOURS OF MY TIME. A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO, #2 CYLINDER BLEW THE SPARK PLUG OUT. THIS CYLINDER WAS REPAIRED USING A THREAD INSERT. THE CAR HAD APPROX 130,000 MILES ON IT. TODAY, NO WARNING, AGAIN, BLEW OUT ANOTHER SPARK PLUG, THIS TIME #3 CYLINDER. GOING TO ATTEMPT REPAIR USING SAME TYPE OF INSERT. PLUGS HAVE BEEN REPLACED ONE TIME, WERE PROPERLY TORQUED PER FORD SPECS, THE PROBLEM, IN MY OPINION IS A DEFECTIVE DESIGN OF THE CYLINDER HEAD WHERE THERE ARE ONLY APPROXIMATELY 3 THREADS IN THE ALUMINUM HEAD THAT ACTUALLY GRIP THE PLUG OR ABOUT 1/16'TH OF AN INCH, WHERE THE PLUG HAS NEARLY 3/4 INCH OF THREAD. NATURALLY, FORD WON;T DO ANYTING TO HELP, BUT THERE ARE LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF CASES LIKE THIS, SOME OF WHICH HAVE RESULTED IN FIRES, AND EVEN THE AFTERMARKET HEADS BY TRICK FLOW ADDRESS THE PROBLEM BY FULLY THREADING THE SPARK PLUG HOLES IN THE HEADS.

MY 2003 FORD FOCUS ZX3 WAS TAKEN IN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR ITS 20,000 MILE SERVICE AND THE TECHNICIAN SAID THE FRONT BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS HAD TO BE REPLACED. I DISCUSSED THE ISSUE WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER AND SINCE IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE, HAD THE WORK DONE AND THEN CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER CARE. THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT I HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE OBVIOUSLY FAULTY BRAKE ROTORS AND FORD DOES NOT CARE HOW OR IF ITS DEALERS HONOR THEIR WARRANTY. 2003 FORD CROWN VICTORIA-- THE HEAD RESTS IN THESE AUTOMOBILES ARE SO HIGH THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE OVER OR AROUND THEM. THE ONLY WAY TO HAVE VISION TO THE REAR OF THE CAR IS BY RAISING THE HEAD REST UP ON ITS POST, ABOVE THE POSITION THAT WOULD ALLOW IT TO BE OF USE IN AN ACCIDENT.. I brought this vehicle into the dealership for safety recall 15s39. There were no problems with the vehicle prior to taking it in. When I received the vehicle back from the dealer they had admitted to not completing all the steps in the safety recall. Now that I have the vehicle the dealer returned it to me with the following issues: all of the interior and exterior lighting including the headlights do not work and the air bag light is illuminated. A supervisor at Ford customer service said they refuse to do anything about the new problems they caused. She stated that "well, it's a pretty old car." I don't think the age of the car should give Ford a pass to not fix a safety recall. The fix for their safety recall only created safety problems with this car - namely the air bags may not work.

TL*- THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE 2003 CROWN VICTORIA POLICE INTERCEPTOR HAD A RECALL 04V328000 THAT WAS REPAIRED 08/24/04 FOR THE REAR SUSPENSION. HE STATED THAT THIS WAS THE SECOND FAILURE. WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH ON THE PARKWAY THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT REGAIN SPEED AND HE COASTED DOWN THE HILL TO THE AUTO DEALERSHIP. HE HEARD A SCREECHING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR AXLE. ON THAT DAY HE WAS TAKING THE VEHICLE TO HAVE THE RECALL REPAIRED. I HAVE AN EDDIE BAUER EDITION EXPEDITION (2003) . THIS UNIT CAME WITH OUTSIDE REAR VIEW MIRRORS THAT TILT DOWN AND INWARD WHEN YOU PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE TO ASSIST YOU IN BACKING UP. THE ISSUE I HAVE HAD SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED NEW IS THAT THE MIRRORS DO NOT RETURN TO THIER ORIGINAL POSITION CONSISTENTLY ONCE YOU PUT THE VENICLE BACK INTO A FORWARD GEAR. THIS ISSUE BECOMES A SAFETY ISSUE ONCE OUT ON THE ROADWAYS AS WHEN I GO TO PASS I CAN'T SEE IF THERE ARE ANY VECHICLES IN THE LANE I NEED TO GET INTO. HAROLD ZEIGLER AUTO GROUP SOLD ME THE CAR IN KALAMAZOO, MICHIGAN. THEY HAVE TOLD ME THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE MIRRORS AND HAVE DONE SO MORE THAN ONCE. CAN YOU HELP GET THIS RESOLVED. THE DRIVERS SEAT ALSO DOESN'T RETURN TO ITS PROGRAMED POSITION AND THIS IS AN IMTERMITTEN PROBLEM WHICH ZEIGLER HAD FIXED ONCE AND ITS STARTING TO ACT UP AGAIN! ALSO I'VE HAD REAR END WORK DONE MORE THAN TWICE AND ITS STARTING TO HOWL ONCE AGAIN. I PURCHASED THE 2003 EXPLORER IN NOV 2003. ON 6/16/04, 8/17/04,AND FINALLY ON 8/20/04, I COMPLAINED REGARDING THE FUEL GUAGE NOT REGISTERING A FULL TANK. FORD FINALLY REPLACED FUEL TANK. ON DEC 10, 2004, I BROUGHT THE CAR IN BECAUSE WHEN GOING FROM PARK TO REVERSE, A WHINING AND CLUNKING NOICE COULD BE HEARD. ALSO, BECAUSE SOMETIMES THE CAR DOESN'T START. AT FIRST FORD CLAIMED NOTHING WAS WRONG REGARDING THE CLUNKING. I THEN REMINDED THEM ABOUT THE RECALLS BEING DISCUSSED IN THE NEWS REGARDING THE 2004 MODELS. THEN THEY REPLACED SOMETHING CALLED A SOLEONID. THE START PROBLEM STILL EXISTS AND SO DOES THE CLUNKING NOISE. THIS WAS COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. YESTERDAY, IT ACCELLERATED WHILE MY FOOT WAS ON THE BREAK, FORM REVERSE TO DRIVE. LUCKILY, THERE WAS NOTHING IN FRONT OF ME. MY HUSBAND, WHILE DRIVING THE CAR, HAS EXPERIENCED THIS SEVERAL TIMES AS HE IS CHANGING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE. THE NEWS JUST DESCRIBED ANOTHER FORD PROBLEM REGARDING ACCELLERATION. I THINK THIS IS WHAT IS AFFECTING MY CAR.

MY HUSBAND AND I ARE LEASING A 2003 FORD EXPIDITION OF WHICH WE RECEIVED ON 5/5/03. AS OF 10/04 THIS SUV HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALER TWICE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, (SENSORS BURN OUT). ALSO IN 10/04 THE FRONT END BRAKES HAD TO BE REPLACED, AND THE AGAIN ON 2/05, THE FRONT END BRAKES BACK BRAKES AND ALSO FRONT END ROTORS HAD TO BE REPLACED AS WELL. WE WERE INFORMED THAT THIS SUV SHOULD IN NO WAY NEED NEW BRAKES THIS SOON AND DEFINITLEY NOT ROTORS. THIS SUV ONLY HAVE 35,000 MILES AS OF 5/19/05. BUT WHEN THE ROTORS WERE REPLACED IT ONLY HAD 31,000 MILES. I WOULD LIKE SOMETHING DONE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, BECAUSE I HAVE SPOKEN TO NUMEROUS OF EXPIDITION OWNERS AND THEY ALL ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS THE BRAKES AND ROTORS. I WOULD LIKE TO BE RE-INBURSED FOR THEY MONEY WE HAVE SPENT THUS FAR FOR AN ON GOING DEFECT. ALSO WE WERE TOLD THAT WE WOULD BE CONTACTED WHEN THE LOWER GRILL OF THE TRUCK ARRIVED, BECAUSE OURS DID NOT HAVE ONE WHEN WE PICKED IT UP FROM THE DEALER, WELL WE ARE STILL WAITING AS OF 5/05.

PASSENGER-FRONT TIRE RECEIVED AN IMPACT IN AN ACCIDENT. THIS HIT WAS A "SIDE-CRASH" WHERE ONLY THE TIRE AND A SMALL AREA OF THE OUTSIDE FRAMING ABOVE THE WHEEL WERE DAMAGED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE TRUCK SPARKED AND IGNITED ON IMPACT. THE TRUCK WAS IN FULL FLAMES IN THE TIRE AND ENGINE AREA WITHIN 9-11 MINUTES. THE FIRE BURNED OUT THE CENTER PORTION OF THE WINDSHIELD, THE ENTIRE ENGINE AREA, THE DASHBOARD/GLOVE COMPARTMENT, AND THE TIRE AREA WITHIN THAT TIME FRAME. WHEN THE CAR IS PUT INTO REVERSE IT DOES NOT WANT TO MOVE. IF YOU INCREASE THE RPM'S, IT STILL JUST SETS THERE. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN VERY INCONSISTENT. REVERSE SEEMS TO BE AT THIS POINT, THE ONLY PLACE IT OCCURS. IN ONE OF THE ATTEMPTS TO FIX THE PROBLEM, THE TECHNICIAN FOUND THAT 3 OF THE 4 CALIPERS WERE FROZE/DRIED UP.
