THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER DENIED ASSISTANCE WITH THE REPAIRS, STATING THAT THE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN BUCKING AND JERKING INTERMITTENTLY SINCE WAY BEFORE ABOVE.DATE IT STOPPED RUNNING AT A STOP SIGN THEN BUCKED AND JERKED SO IN 2013 IT GOT SO BAD THAT I FINALLY HAD IT CHECKED OUT. I THOUGHT IT WAS TRANSMISSION, HAD IT CHECKED AND WAS REFERRED TO LOCAL MECHANIC WHO WAS ACQUAINTED WITH THE PROBLEM AND HAS WORKED ON SEVERAL TRUCKS WITH THE 6.0 DIESEL ENGINE. HE SAID FOR $1200 YOU MIGHT REPAIR IT, NO GUARANTEES. HE SAID IT HAD TO DO WITH THE ELECTRONIC ACCELERATOR. I DIDN'T HAVE IT REPAIRED. IN AUGUST 2014 IT STOPPED AND JERKED AT STOPS SIGN MORE THAN ONCE. I TOOK IT TO THE SAME MECHANIC AND HE REPLACED A SENSOR LOCATED UNDER THE TURBO, FOR $600, AND THAT SOLVED THAT PROBLEM. IN OCTOBER 2014 I WAS TOWING A TRAILER AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO 4TH GEAR. I STOPPED AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND IT WENT BACK TO NORMAL OPERATION, BUT IT STILL BUCKS AND JERKS TODAY I CALLED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER AND HE SAID THAT HE HAS NO RECALLS FOR MY VIN NUMBER. The contact owns a 2004 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving approximately 76 MPH with his wife in the front passenger seat, the vehicle shuddered uncontrollably and stalled. The contact and his wife were concerned for their safety. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to regain control of the vehicle and pulled over to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the residence. The contact stated that as an independent mechanic, he used a code reader to retrieve diagnostic trouble codes for the fuel control module wiring harness failure. The contact related to the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 05V270000 (Electrical System). The contact stated that the fuel control module wiring harness failure had caused warning lights to fail to illuminate as needed. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle had previously been repaired under the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that an elbow vacuum tubing connector was previously replaced under the recall; however, the contact advised the manufacturer that the recall involved replacing the entire fuel control module wiring harness. The manufacturer informed the contact that the recall was already marked completed and no further repairs could be covered. The contact stated that the dealer and the manufacturer had failed to honor the recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 190,019.

The contact owns a 2004 Ford F-350 equipped with Cooper Tires, Tire Line: Discover AT3, Tire size: 265/75/R16, DOT Number: UPWM1M11718M16L. The contact stated that while driving 65 MPH, the rear driver’s side tire had a sidewall blowout. The contact stated that all four tires had sidewall blowouts months apart. The tire blowouts had damaged the rims. The contact replaced the front driver’s, passenger’s, and rear driver’s side tire with the spare after each blowout. The dealer was made aware of the failure and replaced the rear passenger’s side tire. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the rear driver’s side rim, rear driver’s and front passenger’s side tire were sent to the manufacturer. The failure mileage was not available.

WE WERE PULLING A 5TH WHEEL TRAILER LOADED WITH ATV'S AND MY HUSBAND AND I HAD OUR 11 YEAR OLD NIECE AND 12 YEAR OLD NEPHEW WITH US. WE STRUCK A MINIVAN. THE MINIVAN INCURRED DAMAGE TO PASSENGER SIDE REAR QUARTER PANEL. OUR TRUCK INCURRED DAMAGE TO THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT QUARTER PANEL, THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT DOOR, THE FRONT BUMPER, THE ABS SENSOR, AND THE RUNNING BOARD. THE FRONT END AUTO HUB DID NOT DISCONNECT FROM 4 WHEEL DRIVE. THE POSITION SWITCH WAS AT 2 WHEEL DRIVE. THE DASH LIGHT SHOWING 4 WHEEL DRIVE WAS OFF. NOTHING INDICATED THE VACUUM SYSTEM HAD FAILED TO CORRECTLY POSITION THE AUTO HUB. THE FRONT HUB GEARING WAS DESTROYED. NOISE AND FUNNY STEERING. AN INTERNET SEARCH INDICATED THIS IS A COMMON FORD PROBLEM AND HAS BEEN FOR YEARS. I RECENTLY ATTENDED A FUNERAL FOR MY NEPHEW IN OMAHA, NE. HE HAD DIED ON MONDAY, JANUARY 2, 2006 IN BELLEVUE, NE HE WAS IN A CAR WASH AND (ACCORDING TO SOME WITNESSES), THE FORD F350 SUPER DUTY DIESEL TRUCK (I BELIEVE IT WAS A 2004) SUDDENLY WENT INTO REVERSE AT A HIGH SPEED AND BACKED OUT OF THE CAR WASH, ACROSS A STREET, ACROSS A LAWN AND ONTO A DRIVEWAY WITH A WALL. THE TRUCK WAS AGAINST THE WALL AND THE TIRES WERE STILL TURNING AND THE TIRES FINALLY BLEW AND CAUSED A FIRE THAT CONSUMED MY NEPHEW. I HAVE HEARD THAT THE AUTOPSY REPORT SAID THAT HE DIED OF SMOKE INHALATION. HE WAS BADLY BURNED. I DON'T KNOW THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT. I 'M TRYING TO GET A COPY OF THE POLICE REPORT FROM THE BELLEVUE POLICE DEPT, BUT HAVEN'T HEARD FROM THEM YET. SPEED CONTROL DOES NOT DISENGAGE WHEN HITTING THE BRAKES. YOU MUST SLOW THE TRUCK DOWN BY SEVERAL MILES PER HOUR BEFORE THE SYSTEM WILL DISENGAGE. (PUSH HARD AND LONG). THE PROBLEM WILL GO AWAY FOR A PERIOD OF TIME IF YOU PREFORM AN EMERGENCY STOP THAT CAUSES THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM TO ACTIVATE. THIS WILL CURE THE ISSUE FOR AWHILE. BUT WITH NORMAL BRAKING THE PROBLEM WILL RETURN WITH IN SEVERAL DAYS.

WE HAVE HAD FOUR SEPARATE INCIDENTS INVOLVING UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WITH OUR 2004 FORD F350. WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATES. IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE GOING DOWN OUR DRIVEWAY, ONCE WHEN DRIVING IN CITY TRAFFIC, AND ONCE WHEN WE WERE PARKING AT A REST STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS IN ALL OF THESE INSTANCES. IN THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED, JUMPED THE CURB AND STRUCK A TRASH CAN AT A REST STOP. THANKFULLY NO ONE WAS IN FRONT OF OUR VEHICLE AS THEY COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. THE VEHICLE ALSO REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE IN ANOTHER INCIDENT. THIS HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES WHEN MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AND ONCE WHEN I WAS DRIVING. AFTER THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT WE GOOGLED THIS AND FOUND THERE ARE NUMEROUS CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS AGAINST FORD FOR THIS ISSUE, AND THAT OUR YEAR VEHICLE (2004) HAS ONE OF THE HIGHEST INCIDENT RATES.

SINCE NEW VEHICLE PURCHASE, MY FORD F350 DIESEL P/U EXPERIENCED ENGINE SURGING (200-250 RPM) WHILE STOPPED WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IN DRIVE. THE SURGE WAS SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH TO LURCH THE TRUCK FORWARD WITH THE BRAKE APPLIED, SUCH AS AT A STOPLIGHT. IN SEVERAL CASES, I ALMOST REAR ENDED OTHER VEHICLES BEFORE APPLYING THE BRAKE HARD ENOUGH TO STOP THE TRUCK FROM MOVING FORWARD. I LATER LEARNED TO ANTICIPATE THE SURGE USING THE BRAKES TO MINIMIZE MOVEMENT OF THE TRUCK WHILE STOPPED. MY SURGING PROBLEM WAS CONFIRMED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS BY TECHNICIANS DURING TEST RIDES, BUT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM IN THE SHOP. IN ALL CASES, THE FIRST STEP WAS TO REFLASH THE ECM WHICH MASKED THE PROBLEM FOR SEVERAL DAYS WHILE THE TRUCK RELEARNED MY DRIVING HABITS AND PREVENTED A DIAGNOSIS. THE ENGINE HAD TO BE OPERATED AT FULL TEMPERATURE IN ROAD CONDITIONS BEFORE THE PROBLEM DEVELOPED. IN THE SHOP, IDLING THE ENGINE TO WARM UP TO NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE WAS NOT SUFFICIENT TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. FORD DEALERS MADE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS (10 OR MORE) TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM: REPLACING INJECTOR CONTROL PRESSURE (ICP) MODULE, EGR VALVE, AND ICP WIRING CONNECTORS TO NO AVAIL. THE PROBLEM WAS FINALLY DIAGNOSED AND CORRECTED, OUT OF WARRANTY AT APPROX. 44,500 MILES, BY REPLACING THE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS. I FOUND A DEALER WHO WAS WILLING TO SEND A TECHNICIAN ON A TEST RIDE WITH ME AND HOOK UP AN ONBOARD COMPUTER LAPTOP THAT IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM BEFORE REFLASHING THE COMPUTER ECM. A NUMBER OF SURGING COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER OWNERS OF FORD F350 ARE POSTED IN ONLINE FORUMS DOCUMENTING SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES AND FRUSTRATION. THE INCIDENT DATE PROVIDED IS THE APPROXIMATE DATE OF THE FIRST OCCURRENCE. IN MY CASE, THE SURGING OCCURRED ON A NEAR DAILY BASIS, ALTHOUGH INTERMITTENTLY, FOR 41000 MILES OF DRIVING WITHOUT ANY RESOLUTION FROM FORD. DIESEL SMELL IN THE CAB OF A FORD F350 TRUCK WITH 6.0 ENGINE. THIS IS THE SECOND INSTANCE OF THIS IN THIS TRUCK. BOTH HAVE BEEN COVERED BY WARRANTY, BUT THE FIRST TIME WAS IN MAY OF 05 AND THE SECOND TIME WAS FEB 06 IS THIS GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN. THE SMELL IS SICKENING AND IF YOU DO NOT OPEN THE WINDOWS EYES WATER,FEEL TIRED, SICK TO STOMACH, ALL NOT GOOD FOR DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD (PEOPLE REALLY LOOK AT YOU LIKE YOU ARE NUTS WHEN ITS 5 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND YOU ARE DRIVING AROUND WITH YOUR WINDOWS OPEN). THE PICKUP TRUCK KEEPS RUNNING VERY ROUGH AND LURCHING FORWARD WHILE IN DRIVE. THE TRUCK HAS ALMOST COMPLETELY DIED ON ME SEVERAL TIMES. EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE IT WILL LUNGE FORWARD AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER 5 OR 6 TIME OVER THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS. THEY HAVE DONE A UPGRADE ON THE COMPUTER AND REPLACED SEVERAL VALVES/PARTS. EVERY TIME THIS MYSTERY PROBLEM KEEPS COMING BACK. I WAS DRIVING MY FORD F350 DOWN A 2 LANE ROAD WITH A TRACTOR TRAILER FOLLOWING CLOSE BEHIND ME AT 60 MPH WHEN MY TRUCK STALLED. VELDE FORD WOULDN'T HAVE A DIESEL MECHANIC TILL MONDAY. VELDE FORD ALSO SAID THEY COULDN'T PROVIDE A RENTAL CAR. THEY DID FIND A THIRD RECALL ON MY TRUCK FOR THE EXHAUST SENSOR. ON MONDAY, VELDE CALLED ME TO TELL ME THE FUEL PUMP HAD GONE OUT AND THEY ORDERED A NEW ONE WHICH WOULD BE THERE ON TUESDAY. IT WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BUT THEY STILL COULDN'T REIMBURSE ME FOR THE TOW OR RENTAL CAR BECAUSE THE TRUCK HAD 92,000 MILES ON IT. While driving at 40-50 MPH the vehicle will lose power and then then stalls while moving leading to loss of power. The loss power of affects the power steering posing a direct threat for an auto collision due to the difficult in steering the moving vehicle into an emergency lane. Avoided several accidents with this truck. Once it is stalled it can take numerous times to restart the vehicle. This issue seems to occur more on slopes going up hill. This does not seem to occur as often going downhill or on areas with no incline. Currently vehicle has 126,931.8 miles on it. Regularly serviced and otherwise running fine.

WHILE APPLYING BRAKES IN AN ATTEMPT TO STOP, THE BRAKE PEDAL UNEXPECTEDLY WENT DIRECTLY TO THE FLOOR, THUS DISALLOWING THE TRUCK TO STOP. THE PEDAL WAS ABLE TO BE PUMPED,UP ENOUGH IN ORDER TO STOP THE TRUCK, BUT ONLY ONE TIME. ATTEMPTS TO PUMP THE PEDAL AND INCREASE THE PRESSURE ENOUGH FOR FUTURE ATTEMPTS AT STOPPING THE TRUCK WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE BY CERTIFIED MECHANICS REVEALED RUST BUILDUP ON/NEAR A WEAK SPOT ON ONE OF THE BRAIDED, FLEXIBLE FRONT BRAKE LINES WHICH HAD BURSTED, VIRTUALLY MAKING THE BRAKES USELESS BY DISALLOWING PRESSURE TO BE BUILT UP IN THE SYSTEM. A FURTHER INSPECTION OF THE SYSTEM REVEALED A SECOND BRAIDED, FLEXIBLE BRAKE LINE THAT WAS SHOWING SIGNS OF RUST BUILDUP AND EMINENT FAILURE. THE POINT OF FAILURE ON BOTH LINES WAS THE FLEXIBLE, BRAIDED SECTION ITSELF, JUST ADJACENT TO WHERE IT CONNECTED WITH THE PRE-MOLDED PORTION OF EACH LINE.

WHEN TRUCK ORIGINALLY PURCHASED BUBBLE ON TIRE, AND DEALER SAID THEY ALL COME THAT WAY, TIRE WENT FLAT WHILE PARKED ABOUT A MONTH LATER, NO HOLES, WE WERE TOLD TIRE WAS NO GOOD, HAD TO BE REPLACED. TRUCK KEPT STALLING, LOSS OF BRAKES AND STEERING WHILE NAVIGATING DOWNHILL, SOLENOID ASSEMBLY REPLACED. 2 DAYS LATER KEPT STALLING. DEALER HAD TRUCK 21 DAYS TO REBUILD TRANSMISSION, AGAIN SOLENOID ASSEMBLY REPLACED AFTER THAT REPLACED WIRING HARNESS. SINCE THEN, CALIPER BROKE AND BRAKES WENT, TURBO HAS BEEN REPLACED. VEHICLE HAS REPEATEDLY STALLED, NOISES FROM REAR END WITH NO DX. NOW ENGINE SMOKING, LOSS OF POWER, RPMS JUMP WHILE IDLING. TRUCK HAS ALSO REPEATEDLY CHANGED GEARS AUTOMATICALLY, IE WHILE AT RED LIGHT TRUCK WOULD JUMP TO 3RD AND THEN TRUCK WOULD STALL. *JB

2004 FORD F350 DEVELOPED PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE.***NO ANSWER REQUIRED***. *MR THE VEHICLE WOULD RUN ROUGH. THE STARTER BURNED OUT CAUSING THE VEHICLE NOT TO START. THE VEHICLE HAD MULTIPLE FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEMS. THE REAR WINDOW LATCH ASSEMBLY BROKE. THE STEERING DAMPNER CHAFED. THE LONG DRAG LINK WAS REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS WEAK. STEERING STABILIZER WAS INSTALLED BECAUSE IT WASN'T INSTALLED AT FACTORY. *NM

THERE ARE TOXIC FUMES COMING THROUGH THE DEFROSTER WHEN IT IS TURNED ON. WHICH IS DISTRACTING THE DRIVER ON THE ROAD. MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN CONTACTED BY CONSUMER. *AK THE CONSUMER PURCHASED A CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR IN WHICH THE VEHICLE REGISTERED 40 PPM. AS THE WEATHER TURNED COLD, THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO USE THE DEFROSTER OR HEATER DUE TO THE DIESEL FUMES FROM THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THE CONSUMER SUFFERED NOSE BLEEDS AND HIS MOTHER-IN-LAW HAD BECOME ILL WHILE RIDING IN THE VEHICLE. TWO DEALERSHIPS STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE ENGINE DIED WHILE GOING DOWN HILL TO A STOP AT TIMES, THE VEHICLE STUCK IN 4X4 LOW, DRIVER DOOR MOLDING WAS COMING A LOOSE, HEAD LIGHT WAS INOPERATIVE AT TIMES AND THE SWITCH WAS REPLACED, THE REAR DOOR DID NOT LINE PROPERLY AND LEAKED AIR THEREFORE BOTH REAR DOOR UPPER SEALS WERE ADJUSTED. *SC *JB

CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SKID OUT OF CONTROL AT A INTERSECTION.HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP WHERE A NEW TRANSMISSION WAS INSTALLED .TWO MOUTHS LATER, VEHICLE STARTED STALLING WHILE AT IDLE AND WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING AND BRAKES.VEHICLE AGAIN TAKING TO DEALER WERE NEW CODES FROM FORD WHERE PUT IN COMPUTER. THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. RETURNED VEHICLE TO DEALER AGAIN MECHANIC NOT AVAILABLE. VEHICLE RETURNED WITH NO DIAGNOSTICS. THE BOLTS THAT HOLD THE BRACKETS FOR THE TOP SUPPORT OF THE AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM CONTINUOUSLY BREAK. THIS OCCURRED IN FIVE VEHICLE (AMBULANCES) SO FAR, VIN NUMBERS: [XXX], [XXX], [XXX], [XXX], AND [XXX]. TOOK THE VEHICLES TO BE REPAIRED AT FORD DEALERSHIP. *AK THERE WERE 2 UNITS WITH BRACKET FAILURE, ALSO HAD BROKEN BRAKE LINES WHICH CAUSED THE BRAKES TO FAIL.
