The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, and while driving up an incline, the vehicle was losing motive power. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle was not responding as needed. The contact stated that while at the top of the hill and driving down the hill, the vehicle regained motive power. The contact stated that no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was occurring while driving up an incline. The contact drove the vehicle to a dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the internal transmission seals were leaking and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 74,429.

Additionally, the contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The message "Turn Vehicle Off - Transmission Overheating" and "Transmission Malfunction - Service Now" were temporarily displayed. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch pads had seized and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 132,000.

Top of the driver side door handle broke free from the door. The car has previously been cleared of any recall defects - but a loose door handle may absolutely have something to do with the inner workings of the door/latch and may be a safety issue.

Rear Passenger Door Latch Failed. We were forced to use a ratchet strap to return home safely due to door swinging open on turns. The safety recall for this was created in 2015 but as of June 2023 there is still not a solution from Ford. They also will not reimburse any repair done after 2017. This is unacceptable.

The contact stated that he went to get his vehicle repaired and was advised that there were no programs in place for the recall and that they will not repair his vehicle until it was known for a fact that Ford will reimburse the dealer. The contact stated it had been a long period of time that he had been waiting to get his vehicle repaired due to recall. The failure mileage was unknown

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed however, the vehicle would not accelerate. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. The contact stated that as he restarted the vehicle and switched gears to drive, the vehicle would not move. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the brake calipers had seized onto the rotors. The contact stated that the brake calipers, brake pads, brake lines, and the rotors were replaced; however, the failure reoccurred intermittently while driving. The independent mechanic diagnosed that the ABS assembly needed to be replaced. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that he would be responsible for the cost of the repair since the VIN was not included in a recall related to the failure. The contact also stated that the front passenger’s door inadvertently opened while driving. The contact received a recall notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V331000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages). The manufacturer was notified of the failures and referred the contact to NHTSA. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

Request Reversal of Recall Cancellation by the Ford Dealer. RE: Safety Recall Notice 20S30/NHTSA Recall 20V-331 VIN [XXX] ***IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL *** I have been working with the Service Manager, Forest at James Hodge Ford in Muskogee, Oklahoma, (1-918-682-1345) and Ford Customer Relationship Center at 1-866-436-7332. In March of 2025, an inspection was completed on my 2013 Ford Fiesta in regards to this safety recall. IAW service manager performed an inspection of the door latches and closed out the recall. The issue for this recall states that my vehicle was previously repaired under Safety Recall 15S15 or 16S30. Evidently this was completed by the previous owner but it states that it is possible that one or more of the door latches was not replaced or may not have been replaced correctly. This proved to be true because in April while on vacation I was driving when my door swung open. After grabbing it I was able to find a place to stop. Then, I discovered the latch would not close! I found a rope to wrap around it to keep it closed to finish out my vacation. Ford has recognized and issued a safety recall due to the risk of doors not closing or doors opening while driving. As stated in the letter I received about the recall the risk is: If a door latch is not replaced, there is still a risk that the pawl spring tab inside the door latch could break. This condition will typically prevent the door from latching. Where the door is able to be closed, the door may unlatch while driving, increasing the risk of injury. I returned the car to the Ford Dealer and was told the recall was for an inspection only and was cancelled. I began calling the Ford Customer Relationship Center at 1-866-436-7332 on May 1st. Case # [XXX] I have been unsuccessful obtaining a reversal of the cancellation of the recall that is a critical danger. I have been ignored, lied to and promised it would be fixed. Car loses power and shudders when driving. I have pulled out into the road multiple times and had the car slow when acceleration pedal was pushed because the transmission wasn't engaging properly. We have also had a message appear on long road trips that says pull over and wait 5 minutes for transmission to cool as car begins to downshift at HIGHWAY speed!!! This has been an ongoing problem. We have been told repeatedly , well that's just how the Ford Transmission was designed by mechanics. I have been waiting for a transmission appointment with my local Ford Dealer since the end of May. The appointment was Sept. 11th. The service agent just called me to inform me the problem is the clutch and pressure plate which needs to be replaced. The car has 104, 000 miles on it. Ford is not willing to do anything to make this safety issue right. I have called them and they say my VIN is not included in their database. Please help me correct this before my family is in a wreck.

This happened back in NOV. 2016. I seen the the recall from Ford on 2.9 million cars. Although my make and model is not specifically named in the recall, it is exactly what happened to me. I went to eat at a diner and pulled in to the parking space. I put the car in park, and took my foot off the brake. When I did so, my car jumped forward on to the sidewalk and crashed into the building. This caused both myself and my mother who was 82 at the time to be thrown forward toward the dash and front windshield. It was necessary to call the EMS, Fire, and Ambulance to inspect the structure and tend to me and my mom.There was not any lights or warning when this happened. It was my first time experiencing this from the car. We had the car taken to the Body shop to repair the damages, however there was never a mechanical checks done on the vehicle (we would not have suspected the need to do that).

As I was driving on the highway, my car lost power as if it wasn't in gear anymore. Fortunately, I was in a side lane and was able to coast to the side of the road safely; I doubt I would be as lucky if I was in a middle lane. That being said, the side of the road is still dangerous. Shifting the gear selector did nothing to give me power. I put the vehicle in park and turned it off. I waited a few seconds and tried to turn it back on. It wouldn't start. I tried several more times. I then waited a few minutes and tried to start it again, this time with the car starting. I was able to get to work and drive without any issues. After work, however, my car failed to start and had to be towed. There were zero warning lights or messages displayed during this event.

Cars transmission went out at 64000 miles car started jerking then showed a message to use brake stop safely I pulled over and then said transmission hot give a few minutes then after a few minutes it said transmission ready then I tried to drive it and it did the same thing all over again. When I got it home I found out the reverse is out

Additionally, the vehicle also failed to reverse as needed. The contact stated that the vehicle also failed to exceed 10 MPH while driving. No warning light was illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in a recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40-45 MPH, the driver's door unintendedly opened. The contact immediately pulled over to attempt to close the door; however, the door failed to close. The contact used a rope to keep the door closed with the rear passenger’s door on the driver's side door. The vehicle was previously included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V331000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages), and the vehicle was inspected and determined that there was no failure with the doors. The vehicle was not repaired at that time, and the recall was closed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the door latch had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.

RECEIVED A COSTUMER SERVICE LETTER (15B22/19N07) STATING ISSUE WITH TRANSMISSION TCM AND TO BRING CAR INTO DEALER FOR EVALUATION/FIX. ONCE CAR WAS BROUGHT INTO DEALERSHIP WAS TOLD WE NEEDED TO PAY $200 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST OF THE CAR TO SEE IF IT IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE RECALL. WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION IN THIS VEHICLE SUCH AS SKIPPING GEARS, LOSS OF POWER AND THE CAR EVEN STALLING OUT. IF THIS IS A RECALL ISSUE DUE TO DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION I FEEL I AS A CONSUMER SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY A DIME TO FIX THEIR PROBLEM. I AM AWARE OF A LARGE NEWS STORY THAT INVOLVED THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE TRANSMISSION ISSUES RESULTING IN SEVERAL DEATHS DUE TO ACCIDENT CAUSED BY THIS PROBLEM.

HELLO THERE! IT'S BEEN A REALLY LONG STORY, BUT MY CAR HAS HAD A HISTORY OF TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS THAT HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE NOW ON FORD'S DOLLAR. IT'S BEEN HAVING THE SAME ISSUES NOW AND IT'S EVEN WORSE. IT'S NON DRIVABLE. THERE ARE TWO OPEN RECALLS FOR IT, 14M01 AND 14M02. I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND WE'VE GONE BACK AND FORTH WITH MANUFACTURING, BUT IT'S SO BROKEN THEY CAN'T PULL THOSE CODES. THEY SAY THAT I NEED TO PAY FOR A TEAR DOWN (AT LEAST 1,200) SO THEY CAN DIAGNOSE IT TO SEE IF THEY'LL REIMBURSE ME. I'M OBVIOUSLY NOT GOING TO PAY FOR THAT AND I'D LIKE FORD TO PAY FOR IT, BUT THEY WON'T. I HAVE AN OPEN CASE WITH THEM, BUT REACHED THE END OF THE LINE. CAN YOU HELP?

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SOUND WAS LOUD AND DISTRACTING. THE CONTACT WAS DISTRACTED WHILE DRIVING AND NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE BATTERY LIGHT RANDOMLY COMING ON WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STARTED, MAKING ONE BELIEVE THE VEHICLE'S CHARGING SYSTEM IS IN NEED OF REPAIR. WHEN THIS FIRST OCCURRED IT WAS RECOMMENDED SINCE I WAS TRAVELING CLOSE TO 200 MILES EVERYDAY, THAT I HAVE THE ALTERNATOR REPLACED AS IT WAS THOUGHT A DIODE WAS GOING OUT. THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED, AND THE VEHICLE STILL HAS THIS LIGHT COME ON AND ILLUMINATE, MAKING YOU THINK THERE IS A PROBLEM. EVEN WHEN LIGHT IS ON THE CHARGING SYSTEM IS OPERATING AS IT SHOULD. ALL COMPONENTS ARE GOOD. IT RANDOMLY COMES ON AND STAYS ON, UNTIL THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, SOMETIMES A COUPLE CYCLES OF THE KEY IS NEEDED. I HAVE SEEN ON FORUMS WHERE OWNERS HAVE PAID SOME MAJOR DOLLARS TRACKING THIS ISSUE. PROBLEM IS SINCE IT IS RANDOM, THE CAR'S DRIVER DOESN'T KNOW WHETHER THERE IS AN ISSUE OR NOT. THE ALTERNATOR ITSELF WITHOUT LABOR WAS AROUND $300 (ESTIMATED). ISSUE USUALLY OCCURS AT STARTUP AND REMAINS UNTIL VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. ISSUE LAST OCCURRED ON THE MORNING OF 02/19/ 2020 AT APPROXIMATELY 7:00 AM

HEADLIGHTS ON 2013 FORD FIESTA BEGAN WORKING INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, THE LOW BEAM LIGHT RELAY WAS SO BADLY CORRODED THAT IT HAD BROKEN OFF INSIDE THE FUSE BOX, MAKING THE RELAY IMPOSSIBLE TO REPLACE. THE CORROSION APPEARS TO BE A RESULT OF A DESIGN FLAW ALLOWING MOISTURE IN THE FUSE BOX. CANADA HAS A SIMILAR RECALL REFERENCE NUMBER 19S28 ASSOCIATED WITH THIS EXACT ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MEL HAMBELTON FORD (11771 W KELLOGG AVE, WICHITA, KS 67209, (316) 462-3673) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL SENSOR FAILED ON THE THROTTLE BODY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 56,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THE THROTTLE BODY, ELECTRICAL SENSORS, ACCELERATION PEDAL AND SENSORS WERE ALL REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. I have a 2013 Ford Fiesta that I had financed through a 3rd party just right at a year . The ride was rough to begin with and I began experiencing problems such as a loud shrieking/grinding noise under the hood , which triggered the check engine light . Also pressing the gas and the car not accelerating properly which causes jerking , stalling , and etc. I had a mechanic look at it and did minor repairs but this problem is reoccurring. Recently , I was backing out of a parking spot and shifted the car into drive from being in reverse and pressed the gas and it didn't accelerate it just made a loud revving noise and jerked until I proceeded out the parking lot into traffic. The car continued to jerk really ridiculously, and I had to put on emergency lights and pull over into the nearest parking lot. I then had to call someone to trail me home. I recently had it towed to a local transmission shop after it jerked/stalled out really bad on me in heavy traffic again and didn't really want to accelerate to the proper speed. The mechanics at the Transmission shop ran a thorough diagnostic , and other tests and let me know that it's the Transmission Control Module that needs replaced and that it has to go to the dealership. Well I called a Ford Dealership , and the representative said it takes months to get in a new Transmission Control Module and also that even when replaced it really does not fix the problem as per many other similar situations the service representative has dealt with. I have been completely screwed all the way around with this car and I'm not even sure why there isn't a recall on these 2013 Fod Fiesta because they are really dangerous and it's so very inconvenient with all the troubles that come with it.

we broke down in hopskinville kentucky at a gas station. had problems with going into drive and reverse. not wanting to shift. got it going on highway. wouldnt shift into gears lost of power. engine roars loudly and has difficulty shifting to higher gears when we attempt to accelerate. It feels like gears ears slipping or catching when speeding up or slowing down.Unpredictable shifting Trouble shifting into higher gear Trouble downshifting Getting stuck in the same gear. yes it has cause it would not shift and be stuck in the road.. took it to lovegreens in kirksville MO back at home. been nothing but issues and problems. they have lied to us and the ford customer service. they never ran a test on my vehicle they told ford that they havent done a test cause i was trying to get a loaner vehicle,. it has not been inspected. none of the lights came on until we experence the breakdown in kentucky. made it to athens alabama then had it trailered back to kirksville mo due to it almost causins a wreck. lovegreens said they have fixed the recall of the tcm but it was never fixed. i asked ford if i can get a diagnostic test if i can take it to another dealership for the recall... they would not honor it due to lovegreens claiming they fixed the tcm. 2 weeks later i went to pick the vehicle up it was stuck in first gear and it would not shift out of 1st gear. put it in L and then back to drive still would not shift gears. i decided to park it and i havent drove it since.

THE CAR HAS AN ISSUE WITH THE PCM. IT HAS A RECALL THAT WAS NEVER FIXED, BUT A CODE POPS UP REGARDING THAT ISSUE WHEN I SELF DIAGNOSE THE CAR. ALSO, MY TRANSMISSION IS ACTING UP AND A WRENCH LIGHT POPS UP SAYING "ENGINE MALFUNCTION. SERVICE NOW." THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS TOO WHEN ACCELERATING AND NOW THE CAR DRIVES SLOW CONSTANTLY.

I TOOK IT BACK IN A FEW YEARS AGO AND IT SEEMS LIKE THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED BUT IT STARTED BACK UP SHORTLY AFTER. SO I JUST STOPPED COMPLAINING ABOUT IT SINCE IT SEEMS IT'S A WILD GOOSE CHANCE. WHILE TRAVELING AT 55 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY MY FORD FIESTA STARTED TO NOT SHIFT UP OR DOWN AND SEEMED A BIT STUCK. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALER THEY REPROGRAMMED THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE. ONLY A COUPLE MONTHS LATER THE CAR STARTED TO HAVING TROUBLE WITH GEAR SHIFTING AT LOW AND HIGH SPEEDS AND ALSO SEEMS TO SLIP WHEN TRYING TO SHIFT. CAR HAS REPEATEDLY COME CLOSE TO STALLING AND HAS LOST ALMOST ALL POWER AT VARIOUS TIMES. THE CAR DEALER NOW SAYS IT NEEDS A NEW CLUTCH AND IT WILL TAKE 16 WEEKS FOR IT TO ARRIVE. I'VE HAD THE CAR FOR TWO YEARS. I'VE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT THE CAR "SHUTTERING" ISSUE FOR A YEAR AND A HALF. WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR I COMPLAINED ABOUT IT THEY SAID THAT THEY WERE GETTING SIMILAR COMPLAINTS AND HANDED ME A FLYER FROM A STACK THAT THEY HAD READILY AVAILABLE AT THEIR DESK WHICH MENTIONS WHAT I'M EXPERIENCING IS NORMAL AND WILL GO AWAY WITH TIME. EARLIER THIS YEAR I BROUGHT THE CAR IN WITH THIS ISSUE AND THEY HAD TO REMOVE THE TRANSMISSION AND REPLACE PARTS IN THE GEARS. THE ISSUE SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE. YESTERDAY, I WAS AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT WAITING TO TURN LEFT. I STARTED TO ACCELERATE THEN THE CAR STARTED TO MAJORLY SHUTTER. FORD FIESTA 2013 (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) - STARTED CAR. PUT CAR IN REVERSE. CAR DID NOT REVERSE AND THERE WERE RATTLING AND GRINDING SOUNDS COMING FROM TRANSMISSION. RESTARTED CAR. CAR REVERSED. HOWEVER, ONCE CAR WAS PUT INTO DRIVE THE TRANSMISSION WAS RATTLING AND GRINDING AGAIN. ONCE I TRIED TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD, STOPPED AND LURCHED FORWARD AGAIN. THE ACCELERATION WAS NOT SMOOTH, IT FELT LIKE THE CAR MIGHT STALL. THE ENGINE NOISES WERE LOUD AND NOT TYPICAL. UNTIL I REACHED 45 MILES PER HOUR, THE ENGINE DID NOT QUIET DOWN. OVERALL, THE FIESTA'S TRANSMISSION ISSUE HAS TO DO WITH THE VEHICLE'S DESIGN, AND THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. FROM 20,000 MILES ON, I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN TWICE TO TRY AND FIX THIS DEFECT AND IT CONTINUES TO EXIST. I AM REQUESTING THAT NHTSA INVESTIGATE THE SEVERE SHAKE/SHUDDER OF THE VEHICLE WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION AS WELL AS THE VEHICLE EITHER JERKING FORWARD OR BECOMING SLUGGISH WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION. ALSO, AN INVESTIGATION NEEDS TO BE PERFORMED ON THE TRANSMISSION BECOMING STUCK IN GEARS WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THESE COMPLICATIONS HAVE HAPPENED MANY TIMES. FORD CONFIRMS THAT THIS IS NORMAL AND THAT THE CAR NEEDS TO BE DRIVEN DIFFERENTLY OR THAT THEY COULDN`T FIND A PROBLEM. THE CLUTCH HAS BEEN REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES AS WELL AS THE INNER AND OUTER SEALS AND THE PCM/TCM HAS BEEN REPROGRAMMED. ADAPTIVE LEARNING WAS ALSO PERFORMED. ON AUGUST 8TH, THE DRIVER'S DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH. THE LATCH WAS REPLACED AT THE DEALER ($450). ON SEPTEMBER 5TH, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR STOPPED LATCHING. WE CALLED 5 LOCAL DEALERS BEFORE WE COULD FIND ONE THAT HAD THE PART AS WE WERE TOLD IT WAS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER. WHEN WE WERE ABLE TO LOCATE A DEALER WITH THE PART, WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS RESERVED FOR THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ONLY. IF WE WANTED TO BE PLACED ON THE WAITING LIST TO PURCHASE IT TO HAVE INSTALLED ELSEWHERE, WE WOULD BE #7 ON THE WAITING LIST. THE PROBLEM APPEARS IDENTICAL TO THE ISSUE THAT RESULTED IN THE ESCAPE RECALL IN MAY: THE SECOND CASE COVERS ABOUT 692,700 ESCAPES. DOOR LOCK CAN BE A SAFETY ISSUE FOR MANY. ONLY 1 LOCK TO 4 DOORS THAT LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTON IS IN DASHBOARD JUST BEFORE THE RADIO. VEHICLE WAS PARKED. KEY WAS NOT ON IGNITION I GOT IN VEHICLE SHUT THE DOOR AND LOCKED IT. I PURCHASED A 2013 FORD FIESTA I PURCHASED ON DECEMBER 23, 2015 AT THE LAUREL, MARYLAND CARMAX STORE. ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24TH, I WENT TO JIM COLEMAN TOYOTA TO BUY A TOYOTA PRIUS. THEY EXAMINED MY FORD FOR ITS TRADE-IN VALUE. THE MANAGER, WHO WAS A FORMER CARMAX MANAGER, EXAMINED THE CAR AND INFORMED ME THAT MY FORD FIESTA HAS UNIBODY DAMAGE. THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE AS BE REPLACED. THE CAR HAS UNIBODY DAMAGE WAS NOT DISCLOSED TO ME WHEN I PURCHASED THIS CAR ON DECEMBER 23, 2015. I PURCHASED THE CAR FOR $14,000, WHICH IS FAR ABOVE THE BLUE BOOK VALUE OF $9,419. IN MARCH 2016, I BOUGHT THE CAR TO CARMAX IN LAUREL FOR OVERHEATING. THE HEAT PUMP WAS REPLACED FOR $250. ADDITIONALLY, ON SEPTEMBER 15TH, I PAID FOR REPAIRS AT THE CARMAX GAITHERSBURG STORE. THE REPAIRS WERE FOR THE FOLLOWING: 1-FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LATCH;2-TRUCK LATCH; AND 3-HORN I WAS CHARGED $250 TO REPAIR CRITICAL SAFETY FEATURES. WHILE THE CAR WAS IN GAITHERSBURG, THE BATTERY DRAINED. THE CAR DOOR COULD NOT CLOSE, SO THE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAINED ON. I REPORTED THE DOOR LATCH PROBLEMS ON MONDAY, AUGUST 29TH. THE CAR WAS IN PARK. MY SISTER AND I WERE TRYING TO LEAVE FOR CHURCH AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE. HOWEVER, I WAS NOT GIVEN AN APPOINTMENT UNTIL SEPTEMBER 8TH IN GAITHERSBURG AND SEPTEMBER 13TH IN LAUREL. THAT WAS QUITE A LONG TIME TO WAIT FOR SUCH A CRITICAL ISSUE. The contact's girlfriend owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the headlights were inoperable. Upon inspection, the contact noticed that there was corrosion on both headlight relays after opening the fuse box. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed with headlight relay corrosion. The headlight relays needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to file a complaint with NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000.

AS I GOOGLE SEARCHED THE PROBLEM I AM FINDING THAT I AM NOT A LONE PROBLEM, THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE HAVINFG THE SAME ISSUE. IT IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING THAT SOMEONE ON THE FEDERAL LEVEL SHOULD LOOK INTO. NO LOW BEAMS BUT THE HIGH BEAMS AND OTHER LIGHTS WORK PERFECTLY FINE. THE CAR WAS INITIALLY PARKED WHEN I TURNED MY LIGHTS ON AND I IMMEDIATELY DISCOVERED A LACK OF ANY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. I HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED AFTER OWNING THE CAR A FEW MONTHS. AT ONLY 30K MILES. THANK GOD IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. HOWEVER, SINCE THEN, THE CAR HAS CONTINUED TO MALFUNCTION. I HAVE NOT TAKEN IT INTO A DEALER SINCE BECAUSE OF THE OTHER COMMENTS AND COMPLAINTS I HAVE SEEN REGARDING THIS CAR. THE CAR CONTINUES TO JERK FORWARD WHEN MOVING FROM A STOP. THE CAR CONSTANTLY SHUDDERS WHEN DRIVING. THE CAR HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATING. I EVEN HAD TO PULL THE FUSE OUT FOR THE RADIO BECAUSE THE SPEAKERS WOULD CONSTANTLY POP, EVEN WITH THE RADIO OFF. I PICKED UP THIS VEHICLE BRAND- NEW FROM THE DEALERSHIP ON 8/2/13. BY 8/5, THREE DAYS AFTER I GOT THE CAR, THE ENTIRE FRONT END HAD STARTED TO SHUDDER AND CHUG, AND THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT CAME ON. IT FELT LIKE A DEEP-SEATED TIMING ISSUE (THE ENGINE RPMS HAD BEEN A BIT OFF SINCE I PICKED UP THE CAR ON 8/2, AND IT APPEARED TO BE SHIFTING ODDLY, EVEN BEFORE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON). THE CLUTCH ALSO ENGAGED AT ODD TIMES (I BOUGHT AN AUTOMATIC), AND IT DIDN'T APPEAR THAT THE ENGINE RPMS AND TRANSMISSION SHIFTING WERE SYNCHING UP CORRECTLY AT ALL. MY DIAGNOSIS WAS CONFIRMED WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ROMANO FORD IN SYRACUSE, NY, WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE NEXT DAY (8/6), I WAS TOLD THAT A "CAM PHASER" HAD FAILED ON THE ENGINE DUE TO A MANUFACTURING DEFECT, AND THAT THE ENGINE OIL WOULD NEED TO BE COMPLETELY FLUSHED AND CHANGED. AFTER A BIT OF RESEARCH, I FOUND OUT THAT THE PHASER IS A SMALL GEAR THAT REGULATES ENGINE TIMING....BY BEING CUT INCORRECTLY, METAL SHAVINGS FROM THE GEAR HAD CONTAMINATED MY ENGINE OIL. THIS, OBVIOUSLY, IS NOT AN EASY FIX. BY SCREWING UP MY ENGINE TIMING, THE REGULATION OF MY ENTIRE VEHICLE IS SCREWED UP. THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING IN THE SHOP SINCE 8/6 (IT IS NOW 8/22), WITH NO RESOLUTION IN SIGHT. THEY BROUGHT IN A FORD TECHNICIAN FROM GOD-KNOWS-WHERE THAT IS SUPPOSED TO FIX IT; IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FIXED 2 DAYS AGO TO NO AVAIL. THE NATURAL VACUUM LEAK DETECTION PUMP ON MY VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED . A REVIEW ON LINE SHOWS THAT THIS DEVICE WHICH IS PART OF THE EMISSIONS SYSTEM IS CONTINUOUSLY BACKORDERED FOR MONTHS. INDICATIING A HIGH FAILURE RATE. THIS PUMP IS ESSENTIAL IN THAT IT PERMITS THE CAR TO BE FILLED AT A GAS PUMP. IN FAILURE YOU CAN ONLY FILL A GALLON AT A TIME BEFORE THE VALVE IN IT CLOSED AND YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE NOZZLE AND START AGAIN.

THE CAR MAKES A TERRIBLE GRINDING SOUND. I NOTICED IT STUTTER AT TAKE OFF AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THE CLUTCH HAD TO BE REPLACED, A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE FORD FIESTA. AFTER THE CLUTCH WAS REPLACED, THE GRINDING SOUND REMAINED. EVEN WITH A NEW CLUTCH, THE CAR MAKES ME NERVOUS. NEEDLESS TO SAY, DISSATISFIED WITH THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT, I DESCRIBED THE GRINDING SOUND TO A SERVICE MANAGER AT ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. HE TOLD ME THE GRINDING IS NORMAL AND THAT THERE'S NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE. SO I STARTED READING AROUND AND LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF FIESTA OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING. The contact stated that the vehicle was not safe to drive. The contact related the failure to Ford Campaign Number: 14M02. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission clutch, the TCM, and the doors needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. In my 2013 Fiesta, the driver's side seatbelt will no longer retract back in place properly- and while driving it would not retract properly, usually staying loose. The passenger side seatbelt would not fit snug around the passenger either. Both front seatbelts would not restrain anyone in the event of braking hard. I took it in for repair to Fred Bean's Ford in Exton, PA. It was unsafe to drive the car because both the driver and passenger would fly forward when the brakes were pushed hard- no restraining at all from either seatbelt. The dealership will charge me over $800 to install a new part called a pretensioner in both seatbelts. I will save my receipt.

THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN FOR SERVICE FOUR TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THE ISSUE IS THE THROTTLE PEDAL SENSOR. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE WILL LOSE POWER AND THE SERVICE LIGHTS ILLUMINATE. IF IN CRUISE CONTROL, THE CRUISE CONTROL SHUTS DOWN AND THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER WITHOUT WARNING. ON THE INTERSTATE, THIS REQUIRES AN IMMEDIATE ACTION TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. I WAS ABLE TO RESET THE CAR BY SHUTTING IT DOWN AND RESTARTING. THE REPAIRS ONLY STOPPED THE PROBLEM FOR 10-12K MILES.

LAST NIGHT I WAS DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY, THERE WAS TRAFFIC CONGESTION AND I TRIED TO BRAKE BUT THE BRAKES DIDN'T RESPOND EVEN WHEN I PUSHED THE BRAKE UNTIL THE END. FINALLY, MY CAR IMPACTED THE OTHER CAR. AFTER THAT, WHEN I TRIED TO MOVE THE CAR TO THE SIDE, I ALMOST COLLIDE THE CAR AGAIN BECAUSE THIS TIME THE BRAKE WAS BLOCKED AND I HAD TO PUT THE PARKING POSITION QUICKLY. THIS HAPPEN TO ME BEFORE BUT I WAS IN A PARKING LOT, THE SPEED WAS VERY LOW AND I COULD CONTROL THE SITUATION. I DIDN'T PAY TO MUCH ATTENTION IN THAT MOMENT WHEN BECAUSE IT DIDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN UNTIL LAST NIGHT WHEN I HAD THE ACCIDENT. I ALSO HAVE BEEN FACING PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING OF THE CAR. I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM A HOUSTON HONDA DEALERSHIP IN MAY OF 2017, I LATE SEPTEMBER 2017, EARLY OCTOBER 2017, I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP BECAUSE MY 'TRACTION CONTROL', 'ABS', & 'ANTI-SKID' LIGHTS CAME ON. MY RADIO CUT IN & OUT, MY HEADLIGHTS WOULD CUT OFF AND ON/DIM WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING THE GEARS IN MY CAR TO SHIFT. I WAS TOLD TO TAKE IT TO FORD. I TOOK IT TO FORD, THEY DIAGNOSED IT, I NEEDED A NEW 'TCM' WHICH IS THE COMPUTER SYSTEM INSIDE OF THE CAR. THE WARRANTY COVERED IT, & I GOT A NEW ONE. AFTER THAT, I WAS TOLD I NEEDED A NEW BATTERY, SO I GOT ONE, PUT IT IN, THE CAR RAN GOOD FOR A MONTH OR SO. THE 'TCM' SLIPPED AGAIN, & I WAS BACK TO SQUARE ONE. NOVEMBER 2017 IS THEN THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS REALLY BEGAN; INTERIOR DASHBOARD LIGHTS BEGAN TO FLICKER, & MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, SHORTLY AFTER EXITING THE HIGHWAY, MY CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING. MY FOOT WAS PRESSED DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL, BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T SPEED UP, ALL YOU COULD HEAR WAS THE ENGINE RUNNING. I HAD TO PULL OVER, TURN OFF, AND TURN MY CAR BACK ON, TO CONTINUE DRIVING. AFTER NUMEROUS TRIPS TO FORD, TWO NEW BATTERIES, & TWO NEW ALTERNATORS, I AM STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. THEN DOOR LATCHES RECALLED. THEY REPLACED,AND MY DRIVERS WINDOW STOPPED AT A POINT BEFORE GOING DOWN ALL THEWAY. IT SEEMED TO FINALLY GO DOWN BUT FELT LIKE SCRAPING OR GETTING HUNG UP. THESE FOLKS ALSO LEFT A HUBCAP OFF LAST OCTOBER THOUGH..AND DID NOT KNOW..I RULED OUT AS HUMAN GRACED AND GAVE BENEFIT OF DOUBT. WHEN I CALLED THEY WERE CLOSED. SO I BROUGHT BACK AND THEY SAID IT WAS A RELAY SWITCH...BUT I KNEW IT WASN'T BECAUSE IT WAS NOT ACTING LIKE THAT UNTIL (DOOR LATCH) REPLACEMENT. THEN IT WENT AWAY SEEMINGLY. FORD HAS RECALLED TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE ON MY CAR, IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED A TRANSMISSION CLUTCH IS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE CAR TO PREVENT THE CAR FROM CHANGING GEARS WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE, HARM AND DEATH. THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT REPAIR MY CAR AS REQUIRED BY FORD MOTORS COMPANY AS I HAVE REQUESTED A RENTAL CAR WHILE MY CAR IN IN SERVICE. RETURNED TO FORD DEALER ON 11/03/14 AT 34,540 MILES FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AGAIN, LOW SPEED CHATTERING DURING TAKE OFF AND SHIFTS, GEARS NOT ENGAGING,SLIPPING ON ACCELERATION, UNSMOOTH HARSH SHIFTING, LOSS OF POWER, JERKS AND SHUTTERS, ROLLS BACKWARDS ON INCLINES. CAR IS UNPREDICTABLE AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE. CAR WAS DIAGNOSED AGAIN AS NEEDING TRANSMISSION WARRANTY REPAIRS. CLUTCH PARTS ARE ON BACKORDER POSSIBLY UNTIL 11/28/14. FORD HAS NOT FOUND A SOLUTION FOR THIS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, THEY ARE JUST REPLACING WITH SAME FAULTY PARTS THAT ARE EXPECTED TO FAIL AGAIN IN APPROXIMATELY 10,000 MILES. FORD IS BANDAGE FIXING MY FIESTA TRANSMISSION, LEAVING THE CAR AT HIGH RISK OF UNSAFE TRANSMISSION ISSUES TO CONTINUE TO HAPPEN. THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH THE FORD FIESTA IS A WELL KNOWN AND DOCUMENTED PROBLEM FOR FORD, I WISH I KNEW THIS BEFORE I BOUGHT MINE. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED IN FEBRUARY OF 2014. A COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE IT STARTED TO MAKE LOUD GRINDING NOISES, WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE IT WOULD SPUTTER AND ALMOST STALL. I TOOK IT IN ON MARCH 05, 2014 AND THE DEALERSHIP HAD IT FOR A WEEK. WHEN I PICKED IT UP, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT AND THE GRINDING WAS "NORMAL". THE GRINDING NOISES, THE SPUTTERING, THE SLOW ACCELERATION, AND OTHER ISSUES ARE STILL HAPPENING WITH THIS VEHICLE. WHEN I CALL TO SEE IF I CAN TAKE IT IN, I AM TOLD THAT THIS IS NORMAL FOR THIS VEHICLE. THESE 'NORMAL' ATTRIBUTES SHOULD BE DISCLOSED PRIOR TO PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. WHEN I AM AT A STOP AND I START TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE AND IT LUNGES AND IT HAS CAUSED ME TO ALMOST GET REAR-ENDED ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. I ALMOST DIED IN THIS CAR TODAY. I RENTED IT FOR MY TRIP IN MAUI. IT WAS PRACTICALLY NEW WITH ONLY 10,000 MILES ON IT, SO THERE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ANYTHING WRONG, EVEN IF THE PEOPLE THAT RENTED IT BEFORE ME DROVE IT HORRIBLY. TODAY I DROVE IT INTO THE HILLS (UPCOUNTRY MAUI). I WAS ON A ROAD WITH A CLIFF ON THE LEFT SIDE AND A DRIVEWAY ON THE RIGHT. I PULLED INTO THE DRIVEWAY, WHICH WAS A HILL GOING UP, AND EVERYTHING WAS INITIALLY FINE, THE CAR WAS GOING UP THE HILL JUST FINE, BUT A LITTLE OVER HALFWAY UP THE HILL THE CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING/MOVING. I WAS PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR BUT IT HAD NO RPMS AND THE CAR BEGAN ROLLING BACKWARDS. SUDDENLY, THE TRANSMISSION (?) KICKED IN AND THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD AT 20MPH. HAD THE TRANSMISSION NOT KICKED IN AT THAT SECOND, THE CAR WOULD HAVE ROLLED ALL THE WAY BACK DOWN THE DRIVEWAY AND OFF THE CLIFF. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THAT I WAS PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL OR NOT PRESSING THE GAS. I WAS GOING UP A HILL AND OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T WANT TO ROLL BACK, SO OF COURSE I WOULD HAVE MY FOOT PRESSED DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR. THIS IS FURTHER EXHIBITED BY THE FACT THAT THE CAR SUDDENLY LURCHED FORWARD AFTER A FEW SECONDS OF NOT MOVING, SO I DEFINITELY HAD MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR THE WHOLE TIME. MY FORD FIESTA 2013 HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH SHUDDERING, LUNGING, JERKING, AND FAILING TO ENGAGE GEAR SHIFTS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY SEVERAL FORD DEALERS AND SERVICEMEN THAT I NEED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AS IF IT WERE A STICKSHIFT AND HESITATION BETWEEN GEAR SHIFTS IS NORMAL FOR THIS CAR. A FORD DEALER HOOKED UP A LAPTOP AND RESET THE VEHICLE TO TSB 13-4-5 "INTERMITTENT TRANSMISSION CLUTCH SHUDDER DPS6 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION". THE PROBLEM WAS NOT RESOLVED, SO I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY; COMPLAINT #2989023. I WAS TOLD THAT I NEED TO BRING THE CAR TO A DEALER AND THEY NEED PROOF THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THE SERVICE PERSON SAID I NEED TO BE DRIVING THE CAR WHILE FAULTS ARE DOCUMENTED BECAUSE THE CAR HAS AN ADAPTIVE LEARNING PROGRAM THAT RESPONDS TO THE DRIVER'S ACTIONS. I BROUGH THE CAR TO SCHAUMBURGH FORD IN ILLINOIS. THE SERVICE DIRECTOR TEST DROVE THE CAR WHILE I WAS IN THE PASSENGER'S SEAT. HE SAID HE DID NOT EXPERIENCE ANY FAULTS WITH THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, THERE WAS ONE INSTANCE AS WE WERE RETURNING BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, THAT THE CAR SHUDDERED. THE DEALER TOOK THE CAR FOR THE AFTERNOON 8/29/2013 AND SAID HE RESET THE CAR AGAIN FOR TSB 13-4-5 UPDATE ALTHOUGH THEY WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE ME WITH A RECEIPT OF WORK THAT WAS DONE. ON THE MORNING OF 8/30/2013 THE CAR EXPERIENCED OVERHEATING AND BURNING UNDER THE HOOD. A SERVICE PERSON FROM THE SCHAUMBER FORD DEALERSHIP IN ILLINOIS MET TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE. The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended. The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed several times before the vehicle came to a stop. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle almost crashed into another vehicle due to the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with brake master cylinder and vacuum brake booster failure. The contact was informed that the brake master cylinder and the vacuum brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the contact was informed that a brake fluid leak was not visible. The contact stated that the low brake fluid warning light was illuminated, and the brake fluid was refilled two days prior to the failure. The dealer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact referenced an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not included with the recall. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Static through speakers - possible cause, alternator, spark plugs, or faulty wiring. Passenger air bag light - comes on and off on its own randomly. Overheats - with fluids all topped off and car parked and running for 5 minutes it will start extremely overheating with visible smoke. Not sure why. Wire cover - plastic panel on ground towards front of door on driver side needs better coverage. Panel just keeps popping off showing wires. Not sure to what. If gets wet from getting in and out of car can shock you while your driving if touch it just right. Emergency break - don't work Warming indicator - says doors are open when they aren't. Headlights - work when they want to. Theft alarm - don't work Hood pop lever - the lever to pop your hood isn't connected well. The whole lever is just hanging under my steering wheel from the cords. Not latched into anything just kinda floating in the air, makes it hard to pop the hood, can be a distraction while driving with something hitting your knee. Belt buckles - when using seat belts, comes unclicked randomly while driving or won't buckle at all when first trying to put it on. Trunk - unlatches and opens randomly while driving or parked. Shocks? - not sure if it's shocks or what it is. But there is no comfortability while driving. You can feel every bump, pot whole, Crack, anything you drive across. Think it messed up my bearings because of it. But I'm not a mechanic so these are just examples of what's going on and what i think.

The vehicle suffered a direct rear impact from another vehicle traveling approximately 95 mph while this Ford Fiesta was traveling 60 mph forward. Both front seats were positioned upright with a properly seated driver and a passenger seated whilst turning his body behind the seat. The impact was severe enough to trigger the Ford Fiesta's SOS Post-Crash Alert System. As a result of the impact, both front seats of the vehicle broke free of their positions and reclined backwards. This action of the seats cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle as his hands were stripped from the wheel. The airbags did not deploy. The driver's head flew forward and slammed back hard into the headrest. The vehicle was inspected by a police officer at the scene who commented that the seats had failed. The vehicle was also inspected by an insurance inspector. The vehicle is currently in the possession of Progressive and may be available to inspect. The vehicle was in proper working order before the accident occured and provided no sign of issues with the seats.

Ford Fiesta 2013 had a transmission malfunction warning pop up and the car aggressively jerked back then wouldn’t accelerate past 25 mph. The warning light stayed on. The car a couple miles after the incident wouldn’t accelerate at all even though the engine was on. This type of stopping happened twice. This issue is not related to my driving or accident but due to Ford producing a car with set malfunctions.

The contact stated while making a left turn at the traffic light, with her grandchild in a car seat in the rear passenger seat, the rear passenger's side door opened inadvertently. The contact stopped in the middle of the road. A bystander attempted to close the rear passenger's side door; however, the door failed to closed. The bystander was able to keep the door closed by using a cord. The contact moved her grandchild to the rear middle seat. The contact also stated that while driving on another occasion, the front driver's side and front passenger's side doors inadvertently opened.  Additionally, the contact stated while driving on a slight incline, the vehicle inadvertently rolled back. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact depressed the brake pedal, but the failed to respond. The contact engaged the electronic parking brake; however, the vehicle rolled to the base of the incline. The contact was able to continue driving on the leveled road surface. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving on an incline. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised to contact the dealer for recall repairs. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact also stated that the seat belts pretensioners of the vehicle were not retracting as intended. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was previously involved in a crash. The contact stated while idled at the traffic light, another vehicle crashed into the front end of the vehicle. The front driver's side air bag and knee air bag deployed and propelled burning fragments on the contact's face, legs, neck chest, arms. The contact also stated that the front driver's side air bag also hit her on her chin and neck and knocked her unconscious. The contact was transported to the hospital by emergency services. A police report was filed. The contact stated that she sustained burns all over her body and had been receiving neck bone and hip bone treatment The vehicle was taken to an autobody shop for repairs. THE TRANSMISSION HAS A RECALL ON IT. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP AND REPLACED 3X. IT STILL IS NOT FIXED. IT PASSES THE TEST WHEN ITS HOOKED UP TO THE MACHINE BUT WHEN DRIVEN IT FAILS AND GOES BACK TO THE SHOP. THE PROBLEM APPARENTLY HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH FORD AND HOW IT IS MADE. NOW A ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT ALWAYS COMES ON. THE MANUAL SAYS THAT IT SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN BECAUSE IT MAY NOT SHIFT. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN COUNTLESS ACCIDENTS BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT. IT DOES NOT ACCELERATE. IT JERKS, SHAKES, AND GRINDS. I WROTE TO FORD AND THEY DIDN'T CARE. TOLD ME TO TAKE IT UP WITH THE DEALERSHIP. THIS HAS BEEN NONSTOP SINCE I BOUGHT IT LAST YEAR TILL NOW AND ITS ONGOING. I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING MY CHILD IN THIS CAR. THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR, WHERE MY SON SITS IN HIS BOOSTER, STOPPED CLOSING ONE AFTERNOON ON OUR WAY TO HIS SOCCER GAME. I USED A PIECE OF ROPE TO TIE THE DOOR ACROSS THE CAR TO THE DOOR OPPOSITE UNTIL I COULD GET MY CAR INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY. I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND SAW AN ARTICLE REGARDING OTHER 2013 FORD FIESTA'S HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I TOOK MY VEHICLE THE NEXT DAY TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SINCE I WAS THERE I LET THEM KNOW THAT MY CAR, WHICH ONLY HAD 15K MILES ON IT, HAS A PROBLEM WITH ACCELERATION. WHEN I ACCELERATE I HEAR AN AIRY SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE AND I LOSE POWER SO THAT I ACCELERATE VERY SLOWLY. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE WHEN GETTING ONTO THE HIGHWAY. I WAS ADVISED WHEN I PICKED UP THE CAR THAT THE LOCK WAS A RECALL ITEM AS WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE COOLING SYSTEM THAT THEY FIXED. IN ADDITION, WHEN THEY CHECKED FOR THE AIRY SOUND THEY FOUND I HAVE A BAD TRANSMISSION. MY SERVICE REP SAID THE TRANSMISSION WAS ON BACK ORDER FOR 30 DAYS. THAT WAS MAY 2015. TODAY IS 11/2/2015 AND I STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION. THIS IS DANGEROUS WHEN GOING UP HILL AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THERE ARE NO CODES STORED IN THE COMPUTER. THE ALARM SHOULD NOT FLAG WITHOUT STORING A CODE. SEARCHING THE INTERNET SHOWS THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE FIESTA FOR MANY YEARS. DEALERS HAVE MADE THE SAME REPAIRS SEVERAL TIMES ON THE SAME VEHICLE WITH THE ERRORS REOCCURRING. THE PRIMARY CONCERN IS THE ERROR FLAGGING WITHOUT A CODE PRESENT. FORD NEEDS TO FIX THIS POOR DESIGN. IN MY CASE THE CAUSE OF THE ERROR IS LIKELY A POOR CONNECTION UNDER THE HOOD. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, A 2013 FORD FIESTA TITANIUM HATCHBACK ON MAY 28, 2013. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH IT SINCE I PURCHASED IT, ESPECIALLY WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND NOW THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I JUST RECEIVED A RECALL ON THE LOCKING MECHANISMS FOR THE DOORS. THEY COULD BECOME UNLOCKED ANYTIME. THERE HAVE BEEN VARIOUS RECALLS AND UPDATES TO THE CAR. HOWEVER THEY HAVE NO PARTS AT THIS POINT TO CORRECT THE PROBLEMS. THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY CORRECTED BUT NO PERMANENT FIX. THERE HAS BEEN A CLUTCH ON ORDER SINCE MARCH 7, 2015 AND THE CONVERTER WAS DIAGNOSED ON MARCH 27, 2015 AND THOSE ARE NOT AVAILABLE EITHER. I DRIVE ABOUT 600 MILES A WEEK AND REALLY NEED A DEPENDABLE CAR. WHEN I GO TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC THE TRANSMISSION BOGS DOWN SO I HAVE TO GIVE MYSELF AMPLE TIME TO GET OUT. I JUST BOUGHT A USED 2013 FORD FIESTA WITH ABOUT 43-44,000 MILES ON IT. I DROVE THE CAR OFF THE AUTHORIZED DEALER'S LOT ON YESTERDAY 8/31/2014. THE FIRST THING THAT I NOTICED WAS, AS I ENTERED THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR HAD TROUBLE GETTING UP TO SPEED WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. LATER ON THE SAME DAY PULLING OUT OF AN ESTABLISHMENT TO ENTER THE MAIN ROAD I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR JERKED AND ACTED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL OUT. THEN IT LUNGED FORWARD INTO THE STREET! HAD THERE BEEN ONCOMING TRAFFIC, THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WITH ME AND MY FAMILY IN THE CAR! THE CAR HESITATES TO SHIFT GEARS CORRECTLY. I BOUGHT THE 2013 FIESTA IN AUGUST OF 2013. WITH 500 MILES ON IT THE TRANSMISSION WAS LURCHING, CLANKING, AND GRINDING. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NORMAL AND THEY WOULDN'T EVEN LOOK AT IT. I ALSO COMPLAINED THAT THE CAR WAS ONLY GETTING 25MPG HIGHWAY WHEN IT CLAIMED 40. THEY SAID IT WAS IN THE WINDOW FOR EPA, AND IT WOULD GET BETTER AFTER 1500 MILES. I COMPLAINED TO THE MAIN FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I NOW HAVE $14K MILES ON IT AND IT STILL AVERAGES 20-25MPG HIGHWAY. I HAD TO TAKE THE CAR TO THEM AT $12K MILES TO FIX THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION.
