I’m reporting a failure with the Transmission Control Module (TCM) in my 2014 Ford Fiesta. The vehicle has exhibited consistent issues tied to the known PowerShift DPS6 transmission defect: including gear slipping, delayed acceleration, hesitation, and sudden loss of power while driving—particularly dangerous during intersections or merging situations. Ford previously issued Customer Satisfaction Program 14M02 to address this issue, but I was told my VIN is no longer eligible due to build date. I also requested coverage under Ford’s one-time TCM replacement extension announced in 2023, which was meant to support customers outside the 10-year window through June 30, 2025—but I was denied this assistance as well. I’ve opened a formal case with Ford Customer Relationship Center under reference number CXH05170436-N7Z6Z1, after being denied support for a documented transmission control module failure. These symptoms present a clear safety risk, and the refusal to support a documented transmission failure—even under goodwill— I hope this will be reconsidered for safety investigation.

Vehicle presented to A&T Auto Repair with rotation-dependent clunking sound. This clunking started after loud metallic snapping noise occurred while coasting in gear on a flat surface. Mechanic noted that clunking noise came from the transaxle. Once the transmission fluid was drained, metallic grit and large chunks resembling gear teeth were found in fluid. A replacement transaxle was installed, along with a new "clutch kit" containing flywheel, pressure plate, and slave cylinder. Following installation and engine start up, slave cylinder leaked, prompting the order of new parts and replacement labor. According to Mechanic, four different slave cylinders from two separate manufacturers leaked in the same fashion upon engine startup, due to a "locking" malfunction of the slave cylinder. The recurrent nature of the parts failure seems to indicate a deficiency in part design that causes a fluid leak, possibly endangering driver and passengers in the event of a transmission failure.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the RPM increased quickly to over 7,000 RPM; however, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact was able to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway, where the failure persisted. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the Transmission Control Module (TCM), resulting in damages to the clutch. The contact was informed that the transmission and clutch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 59,000.

Driving at highway speed, the vehicle began to switch between the 5 and 6 gear without warning several times, and a message "TRANSMISSION FAULT SERVICE NOW" appeared on the car's dashboard display. The car then started hard-shifting, would not shift into some of the gears, and would not move in reverse. The car had poor acceleration and limited power and it was difficult to pass and keep up with other road traffic. Dealer estimate $4400 for clutch repair internal to transmission.

The transmission shift level locks in Park. The vehicle is available for inspection. Safety was a concern as I was stopped in a school unloading zone/fire lane and was unable to place the shifter in drive. This caused the lane to be blocked. I googled the problem, and was able to remove a cover and access a manual release. I do not know if the problem was previously inspected, however, it is a common search item on Google/internet. There was no prior warning. The problem persists and I will have it checked.

Transmission malfunctions while accelerating. Pulling into a busy road, the vehicle randomly stops accelerating which cause other vehicles to swerve to avoid a crash. The RMP will increase and loose acceleration and then there is no function of the acceleration. As soon as the warning light came on, contacted a dealer and the wait times are over 2 months. The dealer does not want to keep the vehicle and prefers you keep driving until they call you to bring it in.

I am remembering one incident I had years ago. It was my first year since I got my first driver license. I parked my car. While I was getting off with half of my body already outside the car, my car started moving forward. I jumped back in a car in a shock and tried to stop the car. I realized that I had not removed my car key. I also realized that a stick shift was in neutral position. I told myself that it was my wrong-doing, but after reading numerous complaints and lawsuits against Ford Fiesta over the last years, I am not so sure if it was my fault or the car's defect. It happened only once and can not reproduce this. Around the same time, I have also experienced car not starting several times but again I told myself I am just an idiot for not knowing how to start a car. I did Pre-Purchase Car Inspection in October 2016. The inspection report noted that my car had Engine Lights on with code U0131 and codeC0051. I received a CSP14M02 letter last Sunday and went to the dealership on Monday for TCM repair or replacement, but I was turned away.

As I'm driving the car will stop if I get it to go again it won't pick up speed, it will rev up but not go, I was told that it has all the original parts that was until I had someone look at it for the problem stated since then it has new spark plugs new front brakes, break's in back have been rotated new tires, I'm still paying a car note on this car I've had to pay towing fees and still the problem persist I'm scared to put my boys in this car but it's our only form of transportation the dealer that sold me this car is horrible and Ford was of no help, still trying to find the main issue.

Overheating issue still occurred on Cylinder 2, previous recall did not assist in repairing the problem due to poor cooling design from factory. Refer to Recall 17S09 (17V209000) from April 21, 2017.

When a rear seat passenger exits the vehicle and closes the door, the rear door does not latch properly. This causes the door to swing open while the car is moving. The vehicle is available for inspection. The problem has manifested itself on several occasions, especially when I am dropping off school children at their stop. The crossing guard has been kind enough to close the door for me. That is, he closes the door after it swings open. The vehicle has not been inspected by a dealer or repair shop (yet). The problem first appeared last week, after the Thanksgiving holiday break. There were no symptoms to warn of the problem. It just appeared out of the blue, so to speak. To describe the problem further: The door is closed by the passenger who has just exited the car. There is no "door open" light to indicate a problem. Then, after a few seconds, the door springs open and the "door open" light appears. It is annoying when it happens. It is also a safety issue.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated the vehicle was taken to the dealer for a transmission diagnostic test that was requested by the manufacturer; however, the contact felt that the dealer had not performed the diagnostic test because the dealer only identified general maintenance issues unrelated to the transmission. The contact was informed by the dealer that the lower dog bone mount was detaching from the engine torque restrictor. The contact also stated that the vehicle was making a rubbing noise and the RPM sensor continued to fluctuate while driving or slowing down during acceleration. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle rolled back while on an incline. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,465.

THE TRANSMISSION ON THIS FORD FIESTA WAS DEFECTIVE FROM THE DAY IT WAS BUILT. FORD HAS BEEN SUED AND MUST TAKE CARE OF THE BILLIONS OF CUSTOMERS WHO BOUGHT THESE VEHICLES. THE ENGINE IS NOT EQUIPT TO HANDLE THIS TRANSMISSION AND EVENTUALLY BLOWS THE ENGINE, BEFORE ALL THAT HAPPENS THE TRANSMISSION STALLS, AND LEAVES YOU ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAVE BEEN TREATED HORRIBLY BY THE DEALER WHO SOLD ME THE CAR. THEY KNOW THIS IS A LEMON AND YET THEY CONTINUED TO SELL THIS CAR. LOOK AT THE VARGAS VS FORD TRANSMISSION CASE

I'VE HAD THIS VEHICLE FOR 10 MONTHS. LATELY I?LL BE SITTING AT A STOPLIGHT OR DRIVE THROUGH AND THE LIGHT THAT SAYS IT'S OVERHEATING COMES ON AND IF I DON'T TURN IT OFF IT WILL SHUT OFF ITSELF. THE FLUIDS ARE ALL FULL. ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN GIVING ME TROUBLE FOR A FEW MONTHS AND IT'S GETTING WORSE. I'LL PRESS THE GAS SLOWLY AND THE CAR JUMPS. MY CAR STALLS RIGHT AFTER I FILL UP MY GAS TANK WITH GAS. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I AM LEAVING THE GAS STATION, ONCE WHEN I WAS DRIVING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION AND MANY TIMES WHEN I AM PULLING INTO TRAFFIC TO LEAVE THE GAS STATION PARKING LOT (ALMOST AT A COMPLETE STOP). MY OWN MECHANIC TESTED THE PROBLEM AND SAID IT WAS MY PURGE VALVE WHICH I LEARNED WAS RECALLED FOR SOME FIESTAS BUT MY FIESTA VIN IS NOT INCLUDED DESPITE HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM THAT WAS RECALLED. I TOOK MY CAR TO A FORD DEALER AND HE SAID THEY WOULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM UNLESS I PAID FOR A REPAIR.

I own a 2014 Ford Fiesta. On June 23, 2025, I brought my car to McCarthy Ford in Chicago due to a check engine light and other concerns. I told them I didn’t know what was wrong and paid for a diagnosis on my car. They fixed the hood and only mentioned the issue with my catalytic converter, which I could not afford to repair at the time. However, they never mentioned or inspected the Transmission Control Module (TCM) even though my car was eligible for extended coverage under Customer Satisfaction Program 14M02, which expired a week later on June 30th, 2025. Shortly after that visit, I relocated to Phoenix, AZ, and the vehicle began showing clear TCM failure symptoms: loss of acceleration, inability to reverse, and the wrench warning light. Ford corporate told me only the original servicing dealership could escalate the case for goodwill repair, but despite multiple attempts to contact them, I have received no response. While the converter was noted, that is an emissions issue. My current problem is a known, unrelated transmission defect that has now left my car unsafe to drive. The failure occurred just days after the TCM warranty expired, and Ford’s system never flagged it during my visit. This is a serious safety issue that deserves further investigation, as it puts drivers at risk of stalling or losing control in traffic. I am requesting that NHTSA take action and require Ford to provide repairs or accountability for affected owners.

I am writing to request Autofair Ford of Haverhill immediately repurchase the 2014 Ford Fiesta Titanium I purchased from them in 2019. I am requesting to be refunded the full purchase price plus all additional costs for registration, warranties and expenses associated with the 2014 Ford Fiesta Titanium that was sold to me. This vehicle, has since August 2022, been at Jannell Ford in Hanover Massachusetts, with a transmission defect that is unable to be repaired. As you will see from the enclosed documentation Ford apparently knew the transmission was defective and prone to serious safety concerns when they sold the cars originally and resold them through their dealerships. Additionally, Ford has allegedly (per news articles in the Detroit Free Press) instructed its dealerships to stall and delay resolving issues with the customers who purchased Fiestas and Focuses. My experience with Jannell Ford of Hanover and Autofair Ford of Haverhill can only be categorized as a concerted effort to delay and stall, by the dealerships not returning phone calls, not doing what they said they would, not providing information when asked repeatedly and most especially by not informing me that no repair would fix a known and documented defective transmission that came with the car. Since my Fiesta is a resale in 2019 and there have been tens of thousands of complaints made to the Ford Corporation regarding the unsafe and mal-functioning transmissions, Autofair Ford of Haverhill, I believe, had an obligation not to have sold me a car that has been so thoroughly documented to be defective and a safety hazard to car occupants and other drivers on the road. I originally bought the car from Autofair Ford of Haverhill because of the reviews from customers. I am requesting your assistance in resolving this matter as soon as possible.

FORD REFUSES TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS UNDER FULL FACTORY WARRANTY. THEY ARE REFUSING TO ACKNOWLEDGE A SERIOUS ISSUE EXISTS. I KEEP BRINGING THE CAR TO DEALERSHIPS AND FORD WON'T AUTHORIZE NEEDED REPAIRS. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED IN THIS LAST ISSUE.

Driving in the highway the car exceeded 60mph and it overheated. When I took it to the mechanic they said that the the head gasket was cracked and leaking fumed into the coolant. I have had trouble with overheating and fixed it with a thermostat replacement and fixing leak of coolant. Mechanic report: “ vel 1 Testing Scope and scan we pulled codes P1299-00 "Cylinder Head Over Temperature Protection Active" and P2557-00 "Engine Coolant Level Sensor switch circuit Range/Performance" data pids and freeze frames were reviewed we had only 1 freeze frame and that was for code P1299 it set at engine rpm of 2378, vehicle speed was 64 mph, time since start was 317 seconds, ECT186 degrees, IAT 71 degrees ambient temp was 64 degrees, distance since codes cleared was 5018 miles. Cooling system visual inspection was performed we found the coolant bottle full. We tried to pull spark plugs to do leak down test and found three of the plugs are seized and not coming out. We put the sample hose from gas analyzer in expansion tank and hydrocarbons went to 64 PPM instantly, revealing combustion gasses being pushed in the cooling system.”. When looking for recalls for my cars make and model and a recall was made with the exact same thing that happened to my car, but my car was no added to the recall number. Recall #17V209000.

The contact stated while driving at undisclosed speed the contact noticed that the vehicle would become very hot and coming from the engine and interior of the vehicle and temperature gages was going up and down. The contact placed water in the coolant tank to cool down the vehicle. The contact was going to place a coolant sensor on the vehicle but never had the chance to do it. A few days later the contact was driving at undisclosed speed, the contact pulled into a parking lot and noticed flames coming from the front passenger side of the vehicle under the front wheel which continue to in gulf the vehicle. The contact exit out of the vehicle and called the fire department who extinguish the flames from the vehicle. No one was injured. The police came to the scene but there was no police report was taken. The vehicle was towed to a salvage tow yard where it was deemed a total loss. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 112,729.

MY CAR DOES NOT ALWAYS GO WHEN THE GAS IS HIT. WHEN YOU GO TO PULL OUT WHILE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, THE CAR ACTS LIKE IT IS STALLING OUT, SHAKES, MAKES GRINDING NOISE IN THE ENGINE. HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR THE ISSUES. I'VE HAD THE DUAL CLUTCH REPLACED AND MODULE REPROGRAMMED A FEW TIMES. I WAS TOLD NUMEROUS TIMES BY THE FORD TECH, THAT THE SHUTTERING IS NORMAL FOR THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE. THIS IS NOT NORMAL. I HAD OTHER PEOPLE DRIVE MY CAR AND THEY ALSO AGREE THAT IT SHOULDN'T DRIVE HOW IT DOES. I HAVE TO AVOID STEEP HILLS BECAUSE THE ACCELERATION DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK.

I WAS TRYING TO MERGE ON TO THE HIGHWAY AFTER STOPPING AT A GAS STATION. THE CAR WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT GEARS AND SPEED UP. IT WAS MODERATELY TO SEVERELY SHAKING AND SHUDDERING. BECAUSE THE CAR WAS UNABLE TO SPEED UP IN TIME I WAS FORCED OFF THE ROAD BY THE ON COMING TRAFFIC ONTO THE THE SHOULDER/GRASS AREA, WITH THE OTHER CAR NEEDING TO DRIVE AROUND ME. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE SINCE WE PURCHASED THE CAR. THE CLUTCH WAS CHANGED IN OCTOBER 2014 AS PER DEALER, BUT IN APRIL 2015 SAME ISSUES BEGAN DEVELOPING. THIS HAS BEEN THE 3RD NEAR ACCIDENT WITH THIS CAR NOT PROPERLY ACCELERATING ON TO THE HIGHWAY DUE TO THE SHIFTING ISSUE AND CAUSING A NEAR ACCIDENT. OUTSIDE THESE INCIDENTS, THE CAR IS GENERALLY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL AT LOW SPEEDS AS ITS ACCELERATION AND SHIFTING ABILITY CONTINUOUSLY CHANGES AFTER A COMPLETE STOP AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. IT'S QUITE CHALLENGING TO EXPLAIN THE DIFFICULTY OF DRIVING THIS CAR BECAUSE I'VE NEVER HAD A CAR WITH SUCH A POOR CONSISTENCY DURING ACCELERATION. A COUPLE MONTHS AFTER BUYING MY NEW CAR, I NOTICED THE TRANSMISSION WOULD START TO SHUDDER AND/OR BUCK WHEN ACCELERATING AFTER A STOP. CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE BROUGHT IT IN 3 TIMES WITH NO ONE AT THE DEALERSHIP BEING ABLE TO "RECREATE" THE PROBLEM AND THEREFORE THEY COULDN'T FIX IT. THEY ALSO SAID THAT BECAUSE OF THE TYPE OF TRANSMISSION, THE PROBLEMS I WAS DESCRIBING ARE TO BE EXPECTED. HOW COULD A COMPANY RELEASE A TRANSMISSION THAT IS "SUPPOSED" TO BUCK AND SHUDDER? PROBLEM HAS CONTINUED TO GET WORSE AND I HAVE NOW EXPERIENCED SEVERAL INCIDENTS THAT I FEEL ARE VERY DANGEROUS. MY CAR NEVER ACCELERATED RELIABLY, ESPECIALLY IN LOWER GEARS. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD CONSTANTLY SHAKE AND SHUDDER. MY WIFE FINALLY REFUSED TO DRIVE IT ANYMORE AFTER THE CAR REPEATEDLY RESPONDED EXCEEDINGLY SLOW TO HER PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL WHEN TRYING TO CROSS TRAFFIC. SHE WOULD BE STOPPED, WAITING TO CROSS TRAFFIC. WHEN THERE WAS A LONG BREAK IN TRAFFIC, SHE'D PRESS THE GAS AND CAR WOULD CRAWL AHEAD MUCH MORE SLOWLY THAN YOU'D EXPECT WITH HOW FAR SHE PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL. ONCOMING TRAFFIC WOULD THEN CATCH UP TO HER AND HAVE TO SLOW DOWN UNTIL THE CAR EVENTUALLY MADE IT ACROSS. THIS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WHEN I OWNED THE CAR. THE DATE I NOTE IN THE "WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN" FIELD REPRESENTS THE DATE I HAD THE FIRST CLUTCH REPAIR DONE ON THE CAR (AT 18,756 MILES).

THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN TURNED OVER TO THE DEALER SERVICE CENTER AND FORD MOTOR SERVICE. BOTH CLAIM THERE IS A CLUTCH ISSE THAT IS NOT A LIFE SAFETY ISSUE AND WILL NOT DAMAGE THE VEHICLE LONG TERM. HAVE HAD CONSTANT ISSUES WITH THE RADIO UNIT, NOW ON MY 2ND UNIT. RADIO STARTS MAKING A POPPING, CRACKLING, THUMPING LOUD SOUND FROM THE SPEAKERS, UNTIL STOPS WORKING WITH NO SOUND. THEN THESE THUMPING SOUNDS ARE GENERATED EVEN WITH THE RADIO OFF (NOT PLAYING ANYTHING)! WHICH I PRESUME A SHORT OR WIRING ISSUE. I'M SHOCKED WE HAVEN'T GOTTEN IN AN ACCIDENT FROM JUMPING/JERKING THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN IT HAPPENS. MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE TO FORD ABOUT FIESTAS AND FOCUS VEHICLES BUT THEY HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING, AND THE DEALER JUST WANTS TO CHARGE FOR LABOR JUST FOR INSPECTING. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE. THANKS

WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY DURING THE SUMMER IN HOUSTON MY A/C COMPRESSOR FAILED AND PRODUCED A DISTURBING ODOR WITHIN THE CAR. IT INHERENTLY HAS CAUSED DRIVING DURING THE SUMMER TO BECOME VERY TAXING DUE TO THE HEAT EVEN WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN AND ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I HAVE BECOME DIZZY DUE TO THE HEAT. A FEW DAYS LATER I HAD 2 BLEND MOTORS ALSO FAIL WITH THE A/C SYSTEM THAT NOW CAUSE INTERMITTENT AND LOUD CLICKING NOISES THAT CAN BE DISTRACTING WHILE DRIVING.

I started to notice a bit of resistance when pressing on the brakes. Minor initially, but then if you had to apply slightly more pressure the car would jerk/pull hard to the right. The harder and faster you had to press, the more intense the jerk. I took her in to the dealership and they noticed something with the reservoir into the hydraulics unit that feeds fluid into the brakes.  The fluids are not circulating back into it and the caliper is not building enough pressure to close. They said it's the ABS Hydraulic Control Unit: D2BZ-2C405-E and the part is on national backorder with no ETA. The car is unsafe to drive without the part. She's a 2014 with only 28k miles and it seems strange to have this failure with such low mileage. I just have texts with the dealership right now. I spoke with Ford directly today and they guesstimated 5-6 months for the part. I ordered a used part and will take her to another mechanic to get it replaced in the interim since the dealership won't work with a used part. At that point I will have invoices. Thanks.

On a long road trip with my mother while accelerating onto a highway I heard a metal object from the front right of my car drop onto the road. Subsequently, I heard a minor clanking/rattling noise every now and then but everything was operating normally and I could not connect any driving actions to this noise. Later on I looked under the vehicle for any loose hanging objects but could see none. When I got home I went to my home Ford dealer they were charging an exorbitant diagnostic fee so I went to a different dealer with a more reasonable fee. I was asked if I recently had my brakes serviced to which I replied yes. I was told there was a missing upper right caliper bolt. This explained the noise I heard of a metal object dropping. I brought it to the attention of the service manager of my home dealer. I was reimbursed by my home dealer for the cost of the diagnosis and repair at the other dealer. Some months later there was management shakeup of personnel and I learned that the service manager and technicians that I spoke with were replaced. I didn't think much at the time that it was anything more than carelessness but I came across some new information. The use of Torque to Yield (TTY) bolts in vehicle safety related components presents a safety hazard. These type of bolts are one-time or single use. They are indistinguishable from traditional bolts. Once torqued to specification, the loosening of these bolts will cause them to fail. They complicate routine maintenance, require more precise equipment, and leave a lot to chance of human error. Improper installation or reuse of these bolts will lead to catastrophic failure. General ignorance among professional trained mechanics, as well as auto part stores, DIY vehicle owners, as well as lack of labeling, and lack of proper warning from vehicle manufacturers is a recipe for disaster. Vehicle manufacturers should not use these bolts for safety related vehicle components. Vehicle owners should be informed.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FIESTA. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL SCREECHING AND GRINDING NOISE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE BRAKES AND CALIPERS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. "TAKATA RECALL" I AM SUBMITTING A COMPLAINT REGARDING MY BRAKE SYSTEM. WHEN I APPLY MY FOOT ON BRAKES THERE IS NO PRESSURE, BRAKES GO ALL THE WAY TO THE GROUND; AS IF I AM NOT GOING TO STOP. I HAVE TO PUMP OR PRESS HARD ON BRAKES. MY BRAKE LIGHT ON DASHBOARD NEVER CAME ON, INDICATING A PROBLEM WITH BRAKES. THIS JUST SUDDENLY HAPPENED ON MY WAY TO WORK (10/26/2017). I HAD BRAKES CHANGE ON 10/31/2017 AND STILL CAR WOULD NOT STOP. I HAD TO BRAKE HARD, THIS HAPPENED AS I WAS LEAVING THE PARKING LOT, DRIVEWAY. Ford lug nuts swelled up so much that nobody could get tires off. Had to go to dealer and pay $250 to get those off and replaced. I was lucky that I was just trying to rotate the tires vice having to replace a flat.

Swollen lug nuts made removing wheels impossible. Unable to receive balance at a shop. Tire blowout on 28Apr22 caused prolonged disablement in unsafe area due to inability to remove lug nuts and change tire.

AFTER HAVING A FLAT TIRE, I FIND THAT THE INCLUDED LUG WRENCH WILL NOT FIT THE LUG NUTS. AFTER A GOOD SAMARITAN STOPPED TO HELP ME, AND HAD A 4 WAY WRENCH, WE FOUND THAT THE LUGS WOULD JUST SPIN. THEY WOULD NOT LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN. AFTER 3 HOURS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND 3 PHONE CALLS TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER, HE TOLD US THE LUGS HAD AN OUTER LAYER THAT WOULD SWELL OVER TIME CAUSING THIS PROBLEM. WE HAD TO PUT A SOCKET ON THE LUG NUT AND BEAT THE SOCKET ON, TO SQUEEZE DOWN THE OUTER LAYER ONTO THE ACTUAL LUG. IF NOT FOR SOMEONE ELSE'S KINDNESS, I WOULD'VE BEEN STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, HAVING TO CALL A TOW TRUCK, FOR A SIMPLE NAIL IN MY TIRE. LUG WRENCHES AND SPARE TIRES HAVE NO PURPOSE WHEN YOU CANNOT GET THE LUGS OFF. AFTER HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND RESEARCHING IT, I HAVE FOUND THIS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH ALMOST ALL FORD MODEL VEHICLES, AND SO FAR, NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO FIX IT. THIS IS A MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HAZARD THAT CAN EASILY BE FIXED BY SOLID LUG NUTS INSTEAD OF THE JUNK THAT IS STILL BEING USED BY FORD. NOW I HAVE OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES TO REPLACE LUGS, BECAUSE OF A BAD DESIGN.

My vehicle was serviced by elk grove ford service dept. only 250 miles ago and the vehicle is back in for more service. time before did the same thing said the problem was this and when they repaired they called and said this is now wrong, I keep asking why no answer. Now the vehicle had to be taken in and I believe because I have put in complaints before that they are f with me and messing with me I told them elk grove ford [XXX] that the engine light came on and the wrench light on the engine came on, they called me and told me around march 30th that it needed this and that, they came back now and said the power train control module is needed and they cant find any part for it I found a part the advisor said the parts person looked half a day I don't believe them as see that the pcm can maybe reset they have not said to me if they tried resetting the pcm and I would like the part number. I feel I am being set up for more charges as if they would have check the wrench lamp I would not have two charges, they keep repairing items that I believe did not need to be replacement as the plugs were working find. THIS 2014 FORD FIESTA VEHICLE HAS SOME MAJOR TRANSMISSION ISSUES: SLIPPING, CLUNKING, CHUGGING, JERKING, SHUTTERING, AND RATTLING WHEN DOING SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE WHEN A TRAFFIC LIGHT TURNS GREEN. THIS ISSUE ALSO OCCURS WHEN I BEGIN TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I'VE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR ABOUT FIVE MONTHS AND THE ISSUES HAVE OCCURRED THROUGHOUT THAT TIME PERIOD. I HAVE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE TO A FORD REPAIR SHOP. THE MECHANIC COMPLETED A REPROGRAMMING OF SOME TYPE. HE INFORMED ME THAT THE REPROGRAMMING TYPICALLY RESOLVES THE ISSUES THAT THIS VEHICLE IS HAVING; BUT THE ISSUES STILL REMAIN, IN FACT, IT'S GOTTEN WORSE. THE HESITATION OF THIS VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE LEAVES ME FEELING UNSAFE. MOTORISTS IN PASSING VEHICLES ARE ZOOMING BY ME AS I AM ATTEMPTING TO GET THIS CAR TO GO. KINGS FORD (CINCINNATI OH) REPLACED THE TIRE (I HAD TO PAY FOR THE TIRE), REPLACED THE BACKUP SENSOR (WARRANTY) AND 'RESET/UPDATED' THE TRANSMISSION CONTROLS FIRMWARE. AFTER THIS, I RETUNED THE VEHICLE MULTIPLY TIMES FOR UNSAFE TRANSMISSION FUNCTIONALITY. AFTER ABOUT TWO MORE TIMES OF KINGS FORD 'RESETTING/UPDATING' THE TRANSMISSION CONTROLS FIRMWARE THEY FINALLY REPLACED THE CLUTCHES. THIS WAS AT 20,000 MILES. SINCE THEN I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO KINGS FORD TWO MORE TIMES FOR UNSAFE TRANSMISSION FUNCTIONALITY. EACH TIME THEY 'RESET/UPDATED' THE TRANSMISSION CONTROLS FIRMWARE. YESTERDAY, I CALLED FORD ROADSIDE TO PICKUP THE CAR AND RETURN IT TO KINGS FORD DUE TO UNSAFE TRANSMISSION FUNCTIONALITY. I HAVE BEEN TAKING OFF AFTER STOPPING AND THE TRANSMISSION OR FUEL INJECTION MISSES CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO NOT ENGAGE THE DRIVE TRAIN JUST RIGHT. THE VEHICLE HESITATES, LURCHES, AND SHUTTERS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FIESTA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THERE WAS NO SEAL ON THE REAR WINDSHIELD, WHICH CAUSED WATER TO ENTER THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAL FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000.

ON 12/31/2015 WHILE TRAVELING IN THE FAST LANE ON A BUSY CROWDED HIGHWAY IN THE POURING RAIN WITH MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON HIGH, ALL OF A SUDDEN POOF THEY STOPPED WORKING. THEY WOULD NOT COME BACK ON. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER (MIZZELL FORD-WAYNESBORO, GA) ON 1/04/2016 TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. ONE OF THE WIRES HAD COME LOOSE OR DISCONNECTED FROM THE HARNESS THAT CONTROLS THE WIPERS. THEY REPAIRED THE WIRE AND RELOCATED THE HARNESS. MY CONCERN IS THIS BEING AN EXTREME SAFETY ISSUE. I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO REALIZE IMMEDIATELY WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND WAS IN A SPOT WHERE I COULD ROLL DOWN THE DRIVER WINDOW WHILE BEING SOAKED TO PULL SAFELY OFF THE HIGHWAY. SNOW IS ENTERING THROUGH THE COWL TOP ARE AND MELTING, THE WATER ENTERS THE BLOWER MOTOR AND THEN FREEZES THE BLOWER MOTOR. THIS MAKES IT SO MY CAR HAS NO HEAT OR FUNCTIONAL DEFROSTER. I was involved in a hit and run accident where I ended up hitting a large wooden pole and wall . My seat belt failed also my steering wheel airbag did not deploy even though I hit the pole and wall head on . All my other airbags deployed but it didn't stop my chest from impacting.the steering wheel and my right knee from smashing into the dashboard. The car was inspected by law enforcement and by my insurance company geico. Geico still has the car because it was a total loss.

MY SON HIT SLAMMED ON HIS BRAKES TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF HIM WHO HAD SLAMMED ON THEIR BRAKES, HIT A PATCH OF BLACK ICE AND SLAMMED DIRECTLY INTO THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HIM. ONLY THE AIR BAG BY HIS FEET WENT OFF. NONE OF THE OTHER AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE SEATBELT ALSO DID NOT LOCK UP IMMEDIATELY. HE SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION, LEFT SHOULDER INJURY, NECK PAIN, AND BRUISING TO HIS CHEST AND ABDOMEN FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. HE HAD TO BE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE. THE CAR IS TOTALED AND IS IN A SALVAGE LOT ON HOLD FOR A WEEK IN CASE YOU WANT TO LOOK AT IT.

The back passenger back door had problems wouldn’t close rt now can’t open. In May it felt like it wasn’t getting power, engine light said turn off car for 10 minutes, while stuck in traffic, so i had it towed to Upland Ford Dealers, they charged me $209.99 Just to look at it! Then after inspecting it they wanted almost $4,000. Which i can’t afford. They said it was the Clutch Assembly part. The car also has some electrical problems like the car stopped showing the millage last was a round 101. The phone not connecting & the charger plug not working either

My car just died on me. No warning or anything. Took the dealership 2 and half weeks to fix my car. They came to the conclusion that it was my Trans harness cable. Cost $820.00 to fix.

The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

I GOT VEHICLE AT A WELL KNOWN CAR DEALERSHIP - USED. IT WAS GIVEN '120 POINT INSPECTION' SO THE CAR WAS IN 'GOOD TO GO' CONDITION. I WALKED OUT WITH LUCKILY SOME MAX PROTECTION INSURANCE FROM THEM, WHERE THEY WOULD COVER ANY NON- WARE & TEAR REPAIRS. GREAT DECISION AT FIRST, MAYBE NOT EVEN A YEAR IN AT ROUGHLY 80K MILES THE CAR AC DOES NOT GET COOL, WHEN AT A STOP OR SLOW SPEED THE CAR WOULD START TO OVERHEAT & IN STALL - THIS IS A MANUAL VEHICLE SO YOU WOULD HAVE TO DROP GEAR IN ORDER TO GAIN SPEED BACK AND COOL THE ENGINE. THE COOLING FAN WASN'T TURNING OVER ST ANY POINT, I REPLACED THE FUSE MAYBE 3-4 TIMES AND IT KEPT BLOWING OUT. FINALLY I TOOK IT IN TO GET CHECKED OUT, APPARENTLY THE FAN RELAY FUSE WAS BLOWN OUT CAUSING THE SMALLER FUSE TO BLOW, ALL THIS RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO THE AC COMPRESSOR HAVING TO BE REPLACED, 2,700 IN REPAIRS WITH A DEDUCTIBLE OF 200 BUCKS. GREENE FORD (2365 BROWNS BRIDGE RD, GAINESVILLE, GA 30504) STATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON ALL FOUR DOOR LATCHES AND, TO THE CONTACT'S UNDERSTANDING, THE RECALL REPAIR HAD BEEN PERFORMED. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT THE PAPERWORK SHOWED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR HAD BEEN PERFORMED, BUT THE SERIAL NUMBER WAS THE ORIGINAL DOOR LATCH THAT THE MANUFACTURER INSTALLED IN THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL THE DEALER. THE VIN SEARCH FOUND NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,422.

Seat Belt retractor/pretensioner failed and was causing the passenger seatbelt light to go off. Had to repair due to automatic failing of inspection for this issue and the major safety issue this poses. Auto shop charged me $784.82 for today's repair and over $300 (don't remember exact amount, if claim moves forward I will contact them for another copy of that invoice) for a different repair on the seatbelt. I called Ford and they told me their 5 Year/60K warranty on the car expired. I told them that under Federal Code 49 USC Subsection 30120 the manufacturer is required to repair such safety, they told me they couldn't help me and to go away, despite the clear language of this code. Therefore, I am filing this complaint against the Fiesta/ Ford Motor Company (not sure who exactly, I haven't done this before) to request reimbursement under federal law for defective safety equipment. Do not have both bills. The most recent bill will be uploaded. If this claim can move forward, please let me know and I will henceforth retrieve the earlier invoice for the failed attempt at the independent auto repair shop for evaluation and possible compensation.

The vehicle has experienced ongoing failures with the DPS6 PowerShift transmission system. Symptoms included slipping between gears, failure to engage 6th gear, jerky shifting, and bucking during acceleration. A transmission warning light appeared multiple times. These issues occurred daily and worsened over time. Eventually, the vehicle became unsafe to drive—it would over-rev, buck violently, and lose power during traffic conditions. A retired Ford Senior Master Technician confirmed the issue is consistent with a faulty Transmission Control Module (TCM), which is covered under Ford’s Customer Satisfaction Program (CSP) 14M02. Despite this, the dealership refused to replace the TCM. Instead, they replaced a speed sensor and returned it to me. The vehicle broke down again within minutes and had to be returned. The dealership has now suggested dropping the transmission for further inspection at a cost of $2,500, rather than honoring CSP 14M02. They also encouraged me to trade in the vehicle instead of repairing it. The TCM failure has not been resolved, and the vehicle remains unsafe to drive.

2014 Ford Fiesta manual sedan exhibiting recurring, dangerous hood latch malfunction (recently noticed) where hood unlatches while driving/parked & experiencing sudden power loss when AC is used (fuse removed to prevent this dangerous condition). Potential safety hazards: obstructed vision, hood detachment, engine tampering, sudden loss of control. Ford Service Advisor admitted hood latch "should" be a recall, yet dealership attempts to charge $350-$500 ($250 diagnostic) for repair instead of initiating recall. This raises concerns Ford prioritizes profit over safety, esp. since Fiesta is discontinued. Other issues include previous brake pad lock-up requiring costly ABS Hydraulic Control Unit repair & door latch recall 20S15 ("door may unlatch while driving"). Multiple recurring issues suggest vehicle may be a lemon overall. Request immediate NHTSA investigation into hood latch defect & electrical/AC power loss issue. Urge recall consideration. I will gladly allow my vehicle to be studied in a NHTSA lab to aid investigation. Concern heightened by Ford's discontinuation of model.

The contact's son owns a 2014 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced an engine cooling system failure and was repaired. The contact later became aware that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V209000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) that he related to the failure. The contact stated while his son was was at a complete stop at the traffic light, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was able to restart with a 15 seconds delay. Upon making a right turn, the failure reoccurred. The contact's son was able to restart the vehicle; however, the failure persisted upon making a left turn. The vehicle restarted with a 30 seconds delay. The contact's son was able to continue driving. However, the failure reoccurred the next day while coming to a complete stop. The check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle failed to restart after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that fuel rail and fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was able to restart and was towed to the contact's residence. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V005000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) and NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V402000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the VIN was not included. The contact was able to safely exit the vehicle but suffered a left knee injury while exiting the vehicle. No medical attention was received. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire. The contact was unaware if there was a police or fire department report. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and had not yet been deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer transferred the contact to file a complaint with NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 47,700.

None of the recalls were ever done to my vehicle. Mailing problems didn’t receive notification in mail. Door handle fell off and window handles coming off. Tag light glitching and in car press light doing the same. Crack plastic parts of car cracked years ago. Strange engine leak. Door panels coming off and panel around gear broke a year after I got the car. I sent complaint two years ago. I have not heard from anyone.

I LEASED THE CAR THROUGH MY BANK ON MAY 5TH 2016 WITH JUST OVER 35,000 MILES. TWO MONTHS INTO THAT THE CAR DIDN'T START AND ALL ELECTRONIC LIGHTS WERE FLICKERING. IT DISPLAYED TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION. I TOWED THE CAR TO A BIG FORD REPAIR SHOP. THEY SAID IT NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION UPDATE AND A NEW CLUTCH. THEY TOOK CARE OF IT. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVEN (7) TIMES SINCE I GOT THE CAR MAY 2016. PRETTY MUCH EVERY FOUR MONTHS. IT IS COMPLETELY INCONVENIENT AND COSTLY. I HAVE ALSO BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE EVAP FUEL COMPONENTS. I HAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON NOW AND IT NEEDS TO BE SERVICED. THE LAST TIME I GOT A TRANSMISSION UPDATE FROM FORD WAS IN MARCH 2019. MY MOTHER IN LAW AND I BOTH OWN A FORD FIESTA AND A FORD FOCUS.. MINE BOUGHT BRAND NEW IN 2014 AND HERS USED BUT GENTLY USED AND WE'VE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THEM SINCE WE BOUGHT THEM. WE HAVE BOTH TRIED BRINGING THEM INTO FORD MANY TIMES TO GET FIXED AND THEY BOTH TELL US IT'S THE COMPUTERS.. THAT THEY NEED TO BE RESET. EVERY TIME THEY RESET THE COMPUTERS AND WE CONTINUALLY HAVE TO TAKE THEM BACK IN.. EVEN WHEN THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT LIGHTS UP, ALL THEY DO IS RESET THE COMPUTERS. THE LAST TIME I TOOK MY FIESTA IN, IT WAS STILL SHAKING WHEN I DROVE IT TO CHECK ON IT. THE MAN AT FORD TOLD ME THAT THEY ALL DO THAT AND IT'S NORMAL. A FEW DAYS LATER, I HAD TO TAKE IT BACK IN BECAUSE IT STALLED. WHEN IT FINALLY STARTED, WHEN I PUT IT INTO DRIVE, IT REVERSED AND WOULD NOT DRIVE FORWARD. WE TOOK IT TO FORD, THEY RESET IT AND BLAMED IT ON THE COMPUTERS. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT LIGHTED UP AND IT STALLED ON MY HUSBAND. THE CAR IS HAVING ACCELERATION ISSUE. YOU NEED TO PRESS HEAVY ON THE GAS FOR IT TO MOVE FROM STOP POSITION OR ON A SLIGHT SLOPE. WHEN DRIVING THE CAR AT TIMES WILL JERK WHEN YOU TRY TO SPEED UP ON THE HIGHWAY TO MERGE LANES. THE RPM AT TIMES WILL JUMP. THE ISSUE IS A SAFETY CONCERN ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAY. TODAY THE CAR WOULD NOT GO UP A SLOPE. THE STARTED TO ROLL BACK. THIS IS A REAL ISSUE WHEN THERE IS SNOW. I'M SCARED TO DRIVE THE CAR. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEAL SHIP 2 TIMES NOW. LAST TIME I TOOK IT THEY NOTED THAT NO FAULT FOUND AT THIS TIME.. SO I GUESS NOTHING WAS FIXED. I BOUGHT THE CAR IN SEP 2015. ABOUT TWO WEEKS AFTER HAVING THE CAR, I NOTICED THE CAR WOULD STALL/SHAKE/JOLT BETWEEN 20-30 MPH. IT GETS TO THE POINT WERE THE JUST DOES NOT ACCELERATE AT ALL. THIS IS A HUGE CONCER FOR SAFETY OF MYSELF AND MY FAMILY. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH AND IT SEEMS LIKE FORD IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT. THIS IS NOT SAFE DRIVE. FORD NEEDS TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I AM NOW STUCK WITH A LEMON THAT NOBODY WANTS, AND NOW IM STUCK MAKING PAYMENTS ON A CRAP CAR.

OUR DAUGHTER WAS IN A 3 CAR ACCIDENT. THERE WAS BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION AND ALL OF A SUDDEN TRAFFIC WENT FROM MOVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED TO STOPPED. DIRECTLY AHEAD OF OUR DAUGHTER WAS A REFRIGERATOR TRUCK. OUR DAUGHTER WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP QUICKLY ENOUGH AND STRUCK THE BACK OF THE REFRIGERATOR TRUCK. THE SPEED LISTED ABOVE IS AN ESTIMATE. NO ONE IN THE OTHER VEHICLES WERE HURT, NOR DID THEIR CARS SUSTAIN REPAIRABLE DAMAGE. MY DAUGHTER'S CAR WAS STOPPING STRAIGHT AT THE POINT OF COLLISION AND STRUCK THE BACK OF THE TRUCK SQUARE. THE OFFICER AT THE SCENE SUGGESTED SHE BE CHECKED OUT IN THE ER. MY DAUGHTER SUSTAINED SOFT TISSUES INJURIES AND BRUISES. AFTER SOME TIME WITH THE CHIROPRACTOR SHE SHOULD BE FINE. MY QUESTION/CONCERN DEALS WITH THE AIR BAG SYSTEM. THE DRIVER KNEE AIRBAG DEPLOYED, THE STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG DID NOT. IS THAT POSSIBLE? ARE THERE SITUATIONS WHERE IT IS APPROPRIATE FOR THE LOWER BAG TO DEPLOY WITHOUT DEPLOYING THE STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG? THE SEAT BELT DID STOP HER, ALTHOUGH IT LEFT A LARGE RED MARK ON HER SHOULDER. IF THE SYSTEM WORKED CORRECTLY THAT IS FINE. WE WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE WITH EXPERTISE IN THIS AREA TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NOTHING FAULTY IN HER CAR. THE 2014 FORD FIESTA HAS A VERY SLUGGISH SHIFT BETWEEN THE FIRST AND SECOND GEARS AND THE UPSHIFT BOGS DOWN AS IF THE VEHICLE MIGHT STALL. THE TRANSMISSION DEFECT INCLUDES BUCKING, KICKING, JERKING, HARSH ENGAGEMENT, AND DELAYED ACCELERATION AND LURCHING. I HAD AN INCIDENT WHEN CHANGING LANES AT SLOW SPEEDS WHEN THE TRANSMISSION OF MY VEHICLE JERKED AND WHILE THE OTHER DRIVER WAS ALSO PARTIALLY AT FAULT, THE FAULTY TRANSMISSION ALSO CONTRIBUTED TO A MINOR FENDER BENDER.

THE 2014 FORD FIESTA, 5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION, HAS A SINGLE POWER DOOR LOCK BUTTON IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DASHBOARD. IN ORDER TO UNLOCK ALL DOORS, INCLUDING THE TRUNK LATCH, ONE MUST LEAN ALL THE WAY IN TO PRESS THE POWER UNLOCK BUTTON. THERE IS NO WAY TO UNLOCK THE TRUNK USING A KEY. WHEN DOING THIS, THE PERSON UNLOCKING THE VEHICLE IS LEFT VULNERABLE, AND IS A HUGE SAFETY RISK, AND IS OPPOSITE ALL THE SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS PROVIDED BY POLICE AND OTHER SAFETY ORGANIZATIONS: DO NOT TURN YOUR BACK ON YOUR CHILDREN (WHEN HAVING TO LEAN IN TO UNLOCK THE BACK DOORS WHERE THE CHILDREN WILL GO) AND DO NOT LEAN INTO YOUR CAR WHERE YOU COULD BE CARJACKED. IT IS DANGEROUS, AND EITHER THE COMPANY NEEDS TO PURCHASE BACK THE VEHICLES OR FIND A WAY TO FIX THE ISSUE SO THE POWER LOCK IS ON THE DOOR (THERE ARE NO BUTTONS ON THE INSIDE OF THE DOORS, EITHER). TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HARD EDGE ON THE TRIM OF THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD CONSTANTLY CUT THE CONTACT'S HAND. ALSO, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD VIBRATE AND A BUZZING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT WHEN IN REVERSE, THE VEHICLE WOULD GRIND AND INDEPENDENTLY SHIFT IN TO NEUTRAL. THE TRACTION CONTROL AND HILL ASSIST ALSO INTERMITTENTLY ILLUMINATE WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALER, ON 5 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING MODULE, SENSORS, NVH TAPE, STEERING WHEEL, STEERING MODULE, REPROGRAMMED MAIN COMPUTER, AND AIR BAGS WERE ALL REPLACED. A FORD ENGINEER WAS CONTACTED TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF ALL THESE FAILURES. HOWEVER, ALL FAILURES EXCEPT THE TRACTION CONTROL AND HILL ASSIST LIGHT WERE NOT RECTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,420.

I WROTE A LETTER TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY REGARDING THE OPTIMO H426 TIRE MANUFACTURED BY HANKOOK ON MY NEW 2014 FORD FIESTA THAT WAS PURCHASED IN JANUARY 2014. I FELT THAT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN UNDER WARRANTY SINCE THE BUBBLE WAS LOCATED ON THE SIDE WALL OF THE TIRE AND NOT ON THE TREAD. I RECEIVED A RESPONSE THAT WAS UNSATISFACTORY AND THEY WOULDN'T REIMBURSE ME FOR THE COST OF A NEW REPLACEMENT TIRE ($156.67). I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE EARLY EVENING, APPROX 55 DEGREES, FAIR WEATHER, A/C AND HEAT OFF, SMOOTH ROADWAY. SUDDENLY THE SUNROOF GLASS EXPLODED WITH A VERY LOUD GUNSHOT-LIKE NOISE.
