An unknown dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.

Transmission failed. Yellow wrench light on with Transmission overheating message with an indication to pull over immediately. Took the vehicle to a shop and this was their conclusion: Firestone: Code. "P2701 Description, Transmission Friction Element "B" Apply Time Range/Performance". TECH ROAD TESTED AND FOUND TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING BADLY, REFER TO TRANS SHOP OR DEALER FOR OVERHAUL/REPLACEMENT. COMPUTERIZED ENGINE ANALYSIS The car has been a at Ford dealer for 2 weeks awaiting a very expensive transmission overhaul. 2017 Ford Fiestas are experiencing the same transmission issues as previous years.

The contact also stated that the transmission had slipped while at a complete stop, causing the vehicle to lunge forward. The contact stated that the failure occurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was test-driven and diagnosed with transmission failure. The mechanic diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that he would be charged a repair fee. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they would not assist as an unknown class-action lawsuit related to the failure had not reached a settlement. I believe oil pump has malfunctioned. I had a significant loss of power while driving, that could cause sudden accident, had I not been proactive. After the loss of power, I heard a knocking from the engine, then the oil light came on and alerted me. I believe it can be inspected, but have not been able to have it towed to the dealership.

My name is [XXX] (phone [XXX] , email: [XXX] ) I bought a Ford Fiesta 2017 VIN # [XXX] in Feb 2021. The car with 25K. Currently, at 59K Cylinder 1 and Cylinder 3 misfire because coolant gets in both cylinders, diagnosed by a local car mechanic! When driven, the car is a fire hazard!!! I’ve submitted a claim to Ford Motor Company [XXX], and they replied they don’t have a program that can help me! Next, I took the car to Ford's authorized service, Ted Britt Chantilly, VA. The car stayed there 11/7-11/21. According to them, the problem was only a cracked spark plug near cylinder 3. After I paid the diagnostic fee plus the repair cost. The car started exhibiting the misfire problems within the first 10 miles driven. The car was returned to the Ford Service department the next morning 11/22. The OBD reader at Ted Britt Chantilly, VA showed a misfire, this time in cylinder 1 and cylinder 4. My car is at Ted Britt Chantilly, VA for a second time since 11/22/. I was involved in a MINOR motor vehicle accident. 9/21/2022 during the accident my 2017 ford fiesta suffered considerable damage(which I was ticketed for, they said wreckless driving.. I wasn't speeding and I have police reports to back this up). The car did its job and no one was substantially hurt. When I got a chance to look at the car further I noticed the passenger side motor mount(plate not the entire mount) exploded during the crash and allowed the engine to be pushed back. On that side. After retrieving the pieces that remained, there was a clear issue with the part previously mentioned. There is obvious gas porosity in the cast aluminum part. The car has since been brought back to running and driving condition. My over all concern is people potentially being charged criminally over what could be a manufacturing flaw. If the mount plate had held the damage my car received would have been considerably less. I'd like to also note I stopped at my local ford service center to inquire about this aswell. And he recommended I get in contact with ford(manufacturing) I tried by phone and that's almost impossible. I've attached photos for reference

I have this car since 2019 with 8000 miles and this is the 3rd time the code came up for the evap system to be repaired. P0456. The first time it was replaced was at mileage 47084 at winner Ford dealership. On June 11th 2021. The second time it was replaced was at Winter Ford dealership on March 17th 2022 with mileage 59,678. The light just came on today and the code came up again. PO456. I now have 102,000 mi on my car. I think that this should be a recall worth looking into. Thank you

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed and fixed but in 4 months again the problem showed in the car. The contact was informed that the canister purge valve needed to be replaced.

FUEL PURGE VALVE LEAKING. FORD PART NUMBER D2B19C987AB FOR WHOLE ASSEMBLY OR B33TB BOSCH FOR SPECIFIC VALVE. FORD DENIES THIS IS RELATED TO EMISSIONS THEREFOR NOT COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR EMISSIONS PARTS. EVERYBODY IS CALLING IT AN EMISSIONS DEVICE THAT CONTROLS FUMES FROM GAS TANK. MANY OTHER OWNERS HAVE SAME PROBLEM, IT'S VERY COMMON. CODE P1450 AND P0456. CAUSES CAR TO NOT TURN ON AFTER FILLING UP GAS TANK. FOR SOME IT HAS STALLED THE CAR WHILE DRIVING AND UNABLE TO START CAR. THIS PART SHOULD BE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. 2017 FIESTA, 50K MILES. EASY WAY TO TEST IS PULL THE TUBE FROM BETWEEN THE ENGINE AND FIREWALL AND IF VACUUM IS PRESENT IT'S LEAKING. DOES NOT REQUIRE TOOLS TO DISCONNECT. THERE IS A GREEN TAB ON THE TUBE THAT YOU USE FINGERS TO PUSH. AGAIN NO TOOLS REQUIRED AND TAKES 10 SECONDS TO DO. PURGE VALVE IS SUPPOSE TO BE SHUT OFF BY DEFAULT. IF AIR IS MOVING THROUGH, YOU HAVE A LEAKING VALVE. IF YOU REMOVE THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY AND BLOW ON THE END, IT NEEDS TO NOT COME OUT FROM OTHER END.

ENGINE LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON. AFTER ADDING GAS TO VECHICLE, ℂ𝕒𝕣 WILL STALL. SOMETIMES TAKES SEVERAL MINUTES TO START. WAS TOLD BY SEVERAL MECHANICS IT'S THE FUEL SYSTEM BC THERE IS NO CAP, ONLY THE FLAP THAT DOESN'T CLOSE PROPERLY. CAR HAS STALLED WHILE DRIVING SEVERAL TIMES. ONLY 58,300 MILES ON VECHICLE. I'VE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN CAR STALLS ON HIGHWAY OR WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES! CAR ALWAYS HAS ISSUES STARTING AFTER ADDING GASOLINE.

Clutch "A" stuck engaged...loses power and if driven for a while dash lights up saying "transmission is hot wait 5 minutes " In addition to the previous issue, the car will not will not start right away. If you turn the key forward and pull the car down into last gear and back up into park, the car will start most times, otherwise I will have to jump start it.

In September 2022 we are visiting my son it’s his first year off to college.. We were pulling out of the parking lot of my sons dorm. We turned the car on and started to drive, all of sudden the car stopped moving it would not move forward or backwards..It was the transmission, we have order the parts but they have been on back order. It’s Dec. 30 we have been without a car and parts. Almost 4 months we have been dealing with this..

At intersection making a turn when vehicle wouldn't move forward. Transmission stoped working. Dangerous vehicle position. Signal light changed. Several cars honked horn and had to go around. Car was in gear (drive). After several minutes shifting into drive and reverse and back into drive I was able to complete turn and pull over to side of road.

MY 2017 FORD FIESTA HAS A MALFUNCTIONING CANISTER PURGE VALVE. I AM HAVING THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM FOR WHICH THE 2018 FORD FOCUS CARS WERE RECALLED. MY CAR IS ONLY 2 & 1/2 YEARS OLD AND IT IS STALLING AFTER I FILL IT UP WITH GAS. AFTER FILLING UP AT THE GAS STATION, IT WILL NOT START ON THE FIRST TRY. IT STARTS ON THE SECOND, THIRD, OR FOURTH TRY. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON NOW AS WELL. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT IS NOT COVERED BY MY WARRANTY. I HAVE 56,000 MILES ON IT. THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR THE COSTLY REPAIRS DUE TO THEIR FAULTY PURGE CONTROL VALVE. The contact contacted Roadside Assistance however, Roadside Assistance was unable to replace the tire as the lug nuts were swollen and could not be removed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the lug nuts needed to be replaced and the failure was a known issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then towed to a tire store where the lug nut set was replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact the NHTSA Hotline. The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the vehicle, and the vehicle started to lose motive power. The contact was uncertain if any warning lights were illuminated. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was discovered that the engine oil pump belt needed to be replaced. Upon investigation, the mechanic linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle was then towed to a dealer and the cause of the failure was confirmed, but the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the recall. I STOPPED TWICE ON AN INTERSECTION AND A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND THE ENGINE REVVED UP TO 3000 TO 4000 RPM INVOLUNTARILY FROM BETWEEN 500 AND 1000 RPM AND I HAD TO STEP HARD ON THE BRAKE IN ORDER NOT TO HAVE THE VIBRATING CAR MOVE FORWARD. NO, I DID NOT HIT THE BRAKE AND THE GAS PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME. AFTER I SHIFTED THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL AT THE NEXT RED LIGHT IT DID NOT SHOW THIS BEHAVIOR AGAIN. SO IT LOOKS LIKE A SOFTWARE GLITCH IN THE SHIFTING COMPUTER PART.

Alarm system going off for no reason. Battery drained and engine wouldn't start. I had battery tested at auto repair shop and it had burnt out cell inside battery. I purchased new battery last week. The automatic transmission is sluggish at times, feels like it hesitates to get into the next gear. Unknown reasons for cause of issues.

The contact stated while driving 30 MPH and making a left turn, The vehicle that was behind her vehicle simultaneously made a left turn into the lane the contact was turning into. The contact stated that the front driver's side tire of the vehicle collided with the front passenger's side tire of the other vehicle, causing the vehicle to roll over, and the vehicle landed on the hood. The front driver's side and passenger's side seats air bags deployed. The contact stated that the front driver's side seat belt failed to unbuckle, and bystanders assisted the contact out of the vehicle by wiggling the seat belt until the seat belt was unbuckled. The contact stated that the front passenger's side seat belt failed to retract during the incident and became loose, causing the passenger to hit his head against the roof of the car. The contact stated that the rear driver's side seat belt unbuckled during the incident, causing the passenger to be propelled inside the cabin of the vehicle. The rear passenger's side seat belt unbuckled during the incident, causing the unoccupied car seat to be propelled and to fracture. The contact sustained abrasion on the neck, bruises on the right shoulder, and between the left under am and the rib cage due to the seat belt, but did not seek medical assistance. The other two passengers were taken to the hospital by emergency services, then they were were taken to another hospital, where they were informed that they had sustained concussions. The vehicle was towed and totaled. A police report was filed. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 89,623. The VIN was not available.

I was driving down a very busy highway about 60 mph when my oil light started flashing on my dash and my check engine light came on and when I tried to push my brake pedal to stop my car I couldn't push it in. My brakes were very hard, I had to pull my emergency brake to stop my car and coast into a gas station so I didn't hit anyone. I have done a lot of research online and this same issue is already under recall on 2 other Ford Models as well as a class action lawsuit against Ford because of this issue. My model however is not listed under the recall because it has a manual transmission and they said that those models are not affected but that's clearly not true.

I was driving down [XXX] headed to Columbia and as I was approaching a stop light and getting ready to press my break my oil light on my dash started flashing, and when I attempted to push my brake pedal I couldnt. My brake pedal was hard as a rock and wouldn't press in at all. The highway I was traveling on is a very busy 4 lane highway, I was traveling about 60mph and had to pull my emergency brake and practically stand on my brake pedal to get my car to slow down and coast into a gas station parking lot. As of date in July, starting in february the car had transmission error service now, got a new TCM under warranty. A week later the error came back and was told it was just an error code. A week later it came back and stalled out on the road but was not given help. A week later error code came back took to service a few days after they said they reprogrammed the TCM and it was ready to be picked up. Drove it off the lot and it stalled on the highway less than 5 minutes after being picked up.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fiesta. The contact had initially taken her vehicle to an independent mechanic for a tune-up. The check engine light appeared on the instrument panel soon after service and the vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic six more times. Despite multiple visits, the engine light remained illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer who diagnosed the vehicle with a defective pedal sensor. The contract also replaced the battery which removed away the check engine warning light. The vehicle was then taken to another independent mechanic for an oil change; after the oil change, the oil warning light appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken back to a dealer where they informed her that the engine had overheated and led to engine failure. The contact was given an estimate for a new engine. THE CAR EVAP PURGE VALVE STAYS OPEN. THE CAR IDLES AND DIES EVERYTIME I PUT GAS IN. THE PURGE VALVE WAS REPLACED LESS THAN A YEAR OF PURCHASING THE CAR AND IT'S GONE BAD AGAIN. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND ENGINE MALFUNCTION WARNING CAME ON THEN TWO DAYS LATER THE CAR DIED AFTER I ADDED GAS AND TOOK 2 HOURS TO START. I BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY AND DROVE IT ANOTHER WEEK. IT STILL IDLES AFTER ADDING FUEL EVEN WITH THE NEW BATTERY. IT FINALLY DIED AND I HAD IT TOWED TO THE FORD DEALER AND THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC AND SAID THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, THROTTLE BODY AND EVAO PURGE VALVE, O2 SENSOR IS BAD AND ALL 3 NEEDS REPLACING.

VEHICLE ENGINE STALLS WHEN IN TRAFFIC. WHEN I DECELERATE AND ENGAGE THE CLUTCH (MANUAL TRANSMISSION), SOMETIMES THE ENGINE SPEED WILL GO SO LOW, THE ENGINE STALLS. IT USUALLY HAPPENS IN VERY HEAVY TRAFFIC AND I HAVE TO ENGAGE THE CLUTCH. THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THIS HAPPENS PRETTY MUCH ANYWHERE, STREET, HIGHWAY, FREEWAY, DRIVE WAY. IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE CLUTCH IS ENGAGED. IF THE CAR IS IN GEAR AND THE CLUTCH IS NOT ENGAGED, IT WONT STALL. I DID TAKE IT TO HEMBORG FORD IN NORCO, CA AND THEY REFLASHED THE COMPUTER, BUT IT STILL IS HAPPENING. YESTERDAY 12 AUG, I WAS ENTERING A ROADWAY AND A VEHICLE JUMPED IN FRONT OF ME. I APPLIED BOTH THE BRAKES AND CLUTCH AND WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE, THE ENGINE WAS STALLED CREATING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AS I WAS ALREADY COMMITTED TO ENTERING THE ROADWAY AND VEHICLES WERE APPROACHING ME FROM BEHIND AT A VERY HIGH RATE OF SPEED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2017 FORD FIESTA. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE INADVERTENTLY DRIFTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE BACK TO THE ROADWAY; HOWEVER, THE BRAKE PEDAL FAILED TO ENGAGE WHEN IT WAS DEPRESSED AND THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONLY THE SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE COMING THROUGH THE AIR VENTS. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOORS AND HAD TO EXIT THROUGH THE PASSENGER WINDOW. UPON INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE CVC JOINT UNDER THE VEHICLE WAS FRACTURED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BACK, ARM, NECK, RIGHT KNEE, AND RIGHT HIP INJURIES AS WELL AS CUTS ON HIS LEFT ARM THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE DEALER FRANK FLETCHER FORD (3015 TURKEY CREEK RD, JOPLIN, MO 64801, (417) 317-5299) WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST.
