The contact owns a 2007 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while stopped at a traffic light, a vehicle crashed into the front of the contact’s vehicle. Additionally, two other vehicles crashed into the side and rear of the contact's vehicle; however, the air bags failed to deploy. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact and the passenger sustained injuries and received medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not totaled. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 104,000.

The driver airbag light keeps going off and on. I went to ford dealer shop to fix it. Only shortly after it came back on. I tried different tricks online and they dont last long. This is a common issue among ford focus owners. The connection plug from airbag to the steering wheel is bad and it just loses connection from time to time. Focus owners cant just DIY sensitive parts like airbag to temporarly fix it nor can we spend big bucks to visit dealersshop everytime. They charged me $140 just look at my car. And told me $700 for airbag replacement, when all that needs replacing is the faulty connecting plug. Ford knows this but is getting away with jeopordizing with customers lives for money. Please make this recall issue so ford will fix for all focus owners before people dies from this well known focus issue because the driverside airbag failes to deploy. Please.

IN DEC. 12-23 A DEER LANDED IN FRONT OF US AS WE WERE DRIVING ON A ON HIGHWAY AND GOING ABOUT 50 MPH. DEER DAMAGED HOOD RADIATOR ETC. BIGGEST CONCERN . BOTH AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE POWDER. RIGHT AFTER THE INITIAL IMPACT I SAID OPEN THE DOOR OPEN THE WINDOW CUZ THE DUST WAS FLYING AROUND THE CAR AND I BELIEVE I INHALED SOME IN MY THROAT UP MY NOSE THAT WAS REALLY BAD . THE DUST SMELLS BAD IRRITATING EYES THROAT. AS A COUPLE DAYS WENT BY. THROAT VERY SORE COUGHING OFF AND ON. ? THE CHEMICALS ? TOXIN,, CAN THEY CAUSE PROBLEMS LATER. INSIDE BOTH NAZAL PASSAGES VERY CRUSTY AND DRIED BLOOD. SMALL SKIN BURN ON MID NOSE. ALSO HEADACHES , FEEL DAZED, HAIR AND FACE HAD A WEIRD SMELL , ALSO SEVERE RINGING IN EARS. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED IF THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD ISSUES WITH TOXIC CHEMICALS AND WHAT HELP CAN I GET TO RESOLVE THIS AND I AM CONCERNED. THE POLICE CAME RESCUE CAME WE A GRATEFUL WE WERE ABLE TO WALK AWAY BUT SOMETIMES PROBLEMS OCCUR A FEW DAYS LATER. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED ABOUT THE RESPIRATORY IMPACT AND IRRITATION IF THE CHEMICALS CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS LATER. ON 12-25-19. I JUST DONT FEEL RIGHT. HEADACHES ALSO RESPIRATORY AND THROAT CONCERNS.

The contact owns a 2007 Ford Focus. The contact stated that the key ceased in the ignition when the vehicle was turned off. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to be diagnosed nor repaired. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who replaced the ignition switch. The key fob was replaced however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed that the Vin was not under recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 195,000.

RIGHT TAIL LIGHT BURNED OUT, WHICH I NOTICED IN A WINDOW REFLECTION AS I DROVE AWAY FROM AN AUTO PARTS STORE. WHEN I OPENED THE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY TO CHANGE THE BULB, I SAW THAT THE BULB AND ITS BASE AND SOCKET WERE SCORCHED BLACK, AND THE HOLE IN THE RED PLASTIC TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY WHERE THE BULB HAS TO GO THROUGH WAS MELTED AND WARPED. THE RED PLASTIC HAD TO BE SCRAPED WITH A KNIFE TO OPEN THE HOLE ENOUGH FOR THE BULB TO GO THROUGH. I HAD TO GO TO MORE THAN ONE AUTO PARTS STORE TO BUY A NEW SOCKET. I HAD TO USE BLACK DUCT TAPE TO HOLD THE SOCKET IN PLACE. WHEN I CHECKED THE LEFT TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY, I SAW THAT IT HAD ALSO MELTED AND THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD ALSO USED BLACK DUCT TAPE TO HOLD THE SOCKET IN PLACE. I READ ONLINE THAT FORD HAS SAID THE REASON FOR THE MELTING IS THAT THE DRIVER KEEPS HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TOO LONG. SINCE WHEN IS THERE A TIME LIMIT ON PUTTING YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE, ESPECIALLY SINCE THIS IS REQUIRED WHEN YOU ARE AT A RED LIGHT, AND OFTEN HAPPENS WHEN YOU STOP TO CONSULT DRIVING DIRECTIONS AND DON'T WANT TO PUT YOUR CAR IN PARK WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON! I WAS DRIVING IN THE RAIN WHEN THE INTERNAL LIGHTS STARTED TO FLICKER. THIS WAS FOLLOWED BY THE RADIO SHUTTING OFF, HEADLIGHTS DIMMING BEFORE TURNING OFF, AND WIPER BLADES FAILING. THIS WAS QUITE DANGEROUS AS IT WAS DARK OUT AND RAINING, AND I HAD NO WIPERS OR HEADLIGHTS. FORTUNATELY, I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET OFF THE ROAD BEFORE THE CAR FAILED ENTIRELY. THE CAR WOULD NOT RESTART, AND I HAD TO GET TOWED TO A MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A FAULTY ALTERNATOR, WHICH ALSO CAUSED THE BATTERY TO FAIL. THE MECHANIC REPLACED BOTH COMPONENTS FOR $630.80.

OUT OF NO WHERE MY BATTERY INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON. I STOPPED TO GET GAS AND ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS OF THE CAR CUT OFF AND THE CAR DIED. I HAD SOMEONE JUMP ME AND I MADE IT TO MY HOUSE AND IN THE PARKING SPOT AND AS SOON AS I PARKED MY CAR IT DIED AGAIN. I WENT AND BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY ON 6/11/2015 TODAY IS 7/28/2015 AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN I HAD THE BATTERY REPLACED A SECOND TIME AND HAD THE CAR TESTED AND FOUND OUT THE ALTERNATOR IS FAILING. I HAVE FOUND MANY MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE ALTERNATOR FAILING AND BELIEVE THIS HAS BECOME A HUGE ISSUE. I HAD MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR WITH VERY HIGH TEMPERATURES OUTSIDE AND THE CAR SHUT OFF. I WILL REPLACE THE UNIT BUT I HAVE SEEN WHERE MANY PEOPLE REPLACED IT MULTIPLE TIMES WITHIN A 2 YEAR SPAN. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS SITUATION.

IN JUNE 2013, I WAS DRIVING N ON I15 (APPROX 82 MILES FROM HOME. AFTER USING CRUISE CONTROL AROUND 80MPH, THE SPEED LIMIT CHANGED TO 65. AS I TAPPED THE BRAKE TO STOP CC, MY CAR ALMOST STOPPED TO A GRINDING HALT. THE CAR HAD 47000 MILES. AFTER I PANICKED FOR ABOUT A HALF HOUR BECAUSE I AM DISABLED, I FINALLY PUT IT IN D & IT WORKED. WHEN I RETURNED HOME, IT LITERALLY STOPPED PERMANENTLY IN MY DRIVEWAY. I CALLED A TOW TO TAKE TO FORD DEALERSHIP. I PAID FOR THE TOW AND OF COURSE ALMOST $200 TO TELL ME THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED REPAIRED! THIS WOULD COST AROUND $3600! FORD HAS BEEN IGNORING ME FOR YEARS BECAUSE I FEEL THEY SHOULD PAY FOR TOWING, DIAGNOSTICS, REPAIRS AND CAR RENTALS. I HAVE RECEIVED NOTHING. NOT A LETTER FROM THE DEALERSHIP'S OWNER, NOTHING. "TAKATA RECALL" I'M HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH MY FORD FOCUS WHILE DRIVING, THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT CORRECTLY IN THE HIGHER GEARS, 3RD AND 4TH I HAD IT CHECKED AT A TRANSMISSION SHOP WHO VERIFYED THAT THE COMPUTER TOLD THEM THAT THE HIGHER GEARS WERE AT FAULT. I WOULD LIKE ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE ME WITH THIS PROBLEM.

HAVE TO HOLD DOWN ON BRAKES AS HARD AS POSSIBLE, WHILE CAR IS STILL ACCELERATING AT SAME TIME SO I WILL NOT CAUSE ACCIDENT. HAVE TO PUT IN PARK- BUT THEN ENGINE REVS UP TO OVER 6RPMS. TOOK BACK TO DEALERSHIP TWICE WITHIN FIRST FEW MONTHS OF PURCHASE. THEY STATED THEY CLEANED AND ADJUSTED THE THROTTLE BODY AND SECOND TIME, THEY STATED THEY TOOK THE COMPLETE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY APART. WITHIN A FEW MONTHS I WAS HAVING SAME ISSUES. WHEN I EXPLAINED HOW UNSAFE I FELT DRIVING THIS CAR, THEY JUST SAID "WELL DONT DRIVE IT". THEY SAID THAT I COULD BRING IT IN AGAIN, BUT WOULD BE CHARGED FOR ANY REPAIRS. IAM NOW FEARFUL EVERY TIME I DRIVE THIS CAR NOW. I NO LONGER DRIVE THE INTERSTATES, STAY ON CITY STREETS, DRIVING SLOWER. AT THIS POINT, I AM READY TO JUST DROP CAR BACK AT LOT AND TAKE MY CHANCES WITH REPERCUSSIONS OF BREAKING A CONTRACT; ITS BETTER THAN RISKING MY LIFE AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A RESIDENTIAL HOME WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE LOWER CONTROL ARM FAILED. WHILE DRIVING ON SNOW FOR THE FIRST TIME WITH THIS VEHICLE, I EXPERIENCED SIGNIFICANT AND EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL FISHTAILING OF THE REAR END. CAR IN MOTION, WHILE BRAKING AND MAKING A TURN WOULD LOSE BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE IF GOING OVER ROUGH ROAD. The contact owns a 2007 Ford Focus. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at an undisclosed speed and turning, the steering wheel became stiff, and the contact heard scraping sounds emanating from the engine compartment. The vehicle was taken to the residence and inspected. The contact observed condensation on top of the power steering pump and the ground underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was inspected, and a power steering fluid was added to the vehicle. The vehicle was then taken to three independent mechanics where it was diagnosed twice that the power steering pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 198,000.

THE IMPACT CAUSED THE SIDE OF THE CAR TO INDENT MORE THAN 1 FOOT. I WAS WEARING MY SEATBELT. I WAS FORCED FORWARD SO HARD THAT THE SEATBELT BROKE MY COLLAR BONE. I ALSO HAVE SEVERAL BROKEN RIBS AND A HAND INJURY. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE STEERING WENT COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL. RIGHT TAIL LIGHT BURNED OUT, WHICH I NOTICED IN A WINDOW REFLECTION AS I DROVE AWAY FROM AN AUTO PARTS STORE. WHEN I OPENED THE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY TO CHANGE THE BULB, I SAW THAT THE BULB AND ITS BASE AND SOCKET WERE SCORCHED BLACK, AND THE HOLE IN THE RED PLASTIC TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY WHERE THE BULB HAS TO GO THROUGH WAS MELTED AND WARPED. THE RED PLASTIC HAD TO BE SCRAPED WITH A KNIFE TO OPEN THE HOLE ENOUGH FOR THE BULB TO GO THROUGH. I HAD TO GO TO MORE THAN ONE AUTO PARTS STORE TO BUY A NEW SOCKET. I HAD TO USE BLACK DUCT TAPE TO HOLD THE SOCKET IN PLACE. WHEN I CHECKED THE LEFT TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY, I SAW THAT IT HAD ALSO MELTED AND THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD ALSO USED BLACK DUCT TAPE TO HOLD THE SOCKET IN PLACE. I READ ONLINE THAT FORD HAS SAID THE REASON FOR THE MELTING IS THAT THE DRIVER KEEPS HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TOO LONG. SINCE WHEN IS THERE A TIME LIMIT ON PUTTING YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE, ESPECIALLY SINCE THIS IS REQUIRED WHEN YOU ARE AT A RED LIGHT, AND OFTEN HAPPENS WHEN YOU STOP TO CONSULT DRIVING DIRECTIONS AND DON'T WANT TO PUT YOUR CAR IN PARK WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON! WHAT IS THE TIME LIMIT? 30 SECONDS?

TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY ON BOTH SIDES ($200 EACH TO REPLACE) ARE MELTING FROM THE HEAT OF THE STOP/TAIL LIGHT BULB. I SEE MANY OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS TO NHTSA. IT NECESSITATES PUTTING IN LOWER WATTAGE BULBS WHICH ARE NOT AS BRIGHT AS THE ORIGINAL. THIS WAS DISCOVERED WHEN REPLACING A BULB.

WHILE DRIVING THE PULL LOOP ON THE BACK OF MY LEFT SHOE BECAME ENTANGLED WITH THE DRIVERSIDE SEAT ADJUSTER LEVER. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO MOVE MY FOOT FORWARD TOWARDS THE PEDALS I WAS UNABLE AS MY SHOE WAS STUCK. THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED THREE TIMES AND HAS INTERFERED WITH THE SAFE OPERATIONS OF MY VEHICLE. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY EACH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED ON AN EXTENDED ROAD TRIP. I GO TO STRETCH MY KNEE OUT, BRING MY FOOT BACK TOWARDS THE SEAT AND THEN CAN NOT MOVE FORWARD AGAIN.

THERE IS A NON-ISOLATED SAFETY ISSUE INVOLVING THE SEATS USED IN THE 2007 FORD FOCUS. THERE ARE COUNTLESS FORUM THREADS REGARDING THE POOR BUILD QUALITY OF THE SEATS USED IN THIS PARTICULAR MODEL OF FORD. THE BACK OF THE SEAT FRAME BENDS WITH LITTLE TO NO PRESSURE AND THE CONDITION OF THE SEAT BACK SLOWLY BUT PROGRESSIVELY DETERIORATES. THIS POSES A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION, PARTICULARLY IN AN INCIDENT WHERE MY VEHICLE IS REAR ENDED. NOT ONLY WOULD THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY IN THE WRONG DIRECTION, BUT THE DRIVER WOULD NOT BE PROPERLY PROTECTED IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION. I SUFFER FROM SEVERE BACK PAIN JUST BY DRIVING THE VEHICLE UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS, LET ALONE IN THE AFTERMATH OF AN ACCIDENT. THERE IS NO COST EFFECTIVE WAY AND LEGAL WAY TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. FORD MOTOR COMPANY SELLS THE OEM SEATS (WHICH ARE ALL PRONE TO SEATBACK FAILURE REGARDLESS) FOR $3,000. THE ONLY OTHER OPTION AVAILABLE TO CONSUMERS IS TO PURCHASE AFTERMARKET SEATS. HOWEVER, IN STATES WHICH REQUIRE ANNUAL VEHICLE INSPECTION STICKERS, THERE IS NO LEGAL WAY TO INSTALL AFTERMARKET SEATS BECAUSE BY DOING SO, AN AIRBAG ERROR LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE ON THE DASH, THEREBY AUTOMATICALLY FAILING THE CAR'S INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. WHILE SPEAKING TO A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE FORD MOTOR VEHICLE COMPANY, I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE IS "REGRETFULLY, NO RECALLS AT THIS TIME FOR THE ISSUE I WAS EXPERIENCING" AND "THAT THERE IS NO CREDIBLE SAFETY DEFECT INVOLVING THE SEAT."

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SEAT WAS FRACTURED AND LEANED TOWARDS THE FRONT OF THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT IT WAS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,500.

MY 2007 FORD FOCUS HAS (HAD) HEATED SEATS. LATE WINTER OF 2011, MY DRIVER SEAT WOULD BECOME VERY, VERY HOT, AND I WOULD TURN IT OFF BECAUSE IT WOULD BECOME SO UNCOMFORTABLE. I FOUND OUT THIS FALL THAT THIS HEATED SEAT NO LONGER WORKS. I HAVE CHECKED THE FUSE AND IT IS FINE. THE INDICATOR LIGHT GOES ON WHEN PUSHED, BUT NO HEAT. I WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED TO HAVE A BURNED SPOT ON THE HEATING PAD. I BELIEVE THAT FORD SHOULD RECALL THIS AS IT IS A HAZARD. YOU COULD BE BURNED BY A HOT SEAT BEFORE IT BURNS OUT. I WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR END COLLISION IN MY 2007 FORD FOCUS ST. I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT AND WAS REAR ENDED BY A TRACTOR TRAILER TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 20 - 25 MPH. UPON IMPACT THE UPPER HALF OF MY DRIVERS SEAT GAVE WAY CAUSING MY UPPER BODY TO FALL ONTO THE LOWER PART OF THE REAR SEAT. IT APPEARED THE RECLINER MECHANISM GAVE OUT DURING THE IMPACT. THIS WAS SOMETHING I WAS NOT PREPARED FOR. I WAS NOW IN A POSITION WHERE MY HEAD WAS FULLY EXPOSED TO THE ON COMING TRUCK. WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY 2007 FORD FOCUS, I NOTICED THAT IT WAS MAKING UNUSUAL NOISES BUT DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING OF IT UNTIL THE NOISES GREW PROGRESSIVELY LOUDER AND MORE ALARMING. INITIALLY I THOUGHT THAT I WAS PERHAPS IN THE WRONG GEAR SO WHEN I CAME TO A STOP LIGHT, I PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND TURNED IT OFF, THEN BACK ON AGAIN. THAT SEEMED TO ALLEVIATE THE SOUNDS MOMENTARILY AND I DROVE A DISTANCE BEFORE THE SOUNDS STARTED TO OCCUR AGAIN. AS I STARTED TO PAY MORE ATTENTION TO THESE NOISES, I NOTICED THAT THE GAS PEDAL WAS TREMBLING SO I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY AND CONTACTED MY UNCLE, WHO IS A FISHERMAN BY TRADE. HE HAS DONE A LOT OF MECHANICAL WORK ON THE ENGINES INSIDE OF HIS 32-FOOT, COMMERCIAL-SIZED FISHING BOAT, SO I FRANTICALLY ASKED HIM WHAT I SHOULD DO. HE HAD ME DO A SERIES OF CHECKS INCLUDING CHECKING THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVELS, THE COLOR, AND THE ODOR. I REPORTED TO HIM THAT THE FLUID LEVELS SEEMED ADEQUATE AND THE COLOR NORMAL BUT THERE WAS PERHAPS A SLIGHT BURNT SMELL. THE ?OD IS OFF? LIGHT WAS ALSO FLASHING AND SO HE THOUGHT IT WAS MOST LIKELY A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM BUT THAT IT COULD BE A BELT ISSUE AS WELL. HE SAID THAT IT WOULD BE SAFEST TO GET BACK INTO THE CAR AND OFF THE FREEWAY, ONTO SURFACE STREETS AND RETURN HOME UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO TAKE THE CAR INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP TO CHECK IF THE TRANSMISSION COULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I OWN A 2007 FORD FOCUS WITH 45K MILES ON IT. AROUND 42K MILES I BEGIN TO EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR WHEN I NEED TO ACCELERATE QUICKLY SUCH AS MERGING ONTO AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. THE CAR WOULD BEGIN TO ACCELERATE BUT ONCE IT REACHED 3RD GEAR THE CAR WOULD JERK AND START REVVING VERY LOUD BUT BE STUCK AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. INITIALLY IT WAS OCCASIONAL AND WOULD NOT BE VERY BAD TO OVERCOME, SIMPLY RELEASE THE GAS PEDAL FOR A WHILE THEN IT'D FIX ITSELF. BUT IT HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE TO THE POINT WHERE I CANNOT GET THE CAR OVER 30 MPH DUE TO THIS ISSUE NO MATTER HOW SLOWLY OR FAST I ACCELERATE. THE CAR WILL REV VERY LOUD USUALLY AT 3K+ RPM, BUT WILL NOT ACCELERATE. I HAVE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD WHENEVER I CAN; TURN THE CAR OFF AND TRY AGAIN. IT TURNS OUT IT IS AN ISSUE WITH THE ALTERNATOR OF THIS CAR PARTICULARLY THE 2007 MODEL. I RESEARCHED IT AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE WHO OWN THE SAME MAKE/MODEL/YEAR CAR ARE ENCOUNTERING THIS PROBLEM AS WELL. THIS IS FOR A FORD FOCUS ZX5 (4-DOOR HATCHBACK). AT 90K MILES PASSENGER BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY BROKE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. REPLACED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY AND COST $90. NOW THE DRIVERS BACK DOOR LOCK IS BROKEN. IT WILL NOT WORK MANUALLY OR ELECTRONICALLY. MY CHILDREN ARE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR WHETHER THE CAR IN PARK OR DRIVE SINCE THE ENTIRE LATCH AND LOCK ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE. 3 OF 4 DOORS HAVE NOW BROKEN ON MY 2007 FOCUS, DUE TO THE SAME PROBLEM AS WHAT WAS RECALLED ON THE 05 MODEL -- THE DOORS WILL NOT LATCH AND/OR LOCK. THE DOOR MECHANISM IS THE SAME FOR 2000-07, SO I'M NOT SURE WHY 07 WAS NOT RECALLED AS WELL. I PAID THE DEALER OVER $1000 TO FIX THE FRONT DRIVER AND BACK PASSENGER DOORS IN 5/12, AND NOW IN 7/12, THE BACK DRIVER DOOR IS DOING THE SAME THING -- WHEN YOU GO TO SHUT IT, IT JUST POPS BACK OPEN, AS THE LATCH DOES NOT CATCH. I HAD TO DRIVE HOME FROM MY BABY SHOWER LAST NIGHT WITH THE REAR DOORS TETHERED TO EACHOTHER TO KEEP THE DOOR FROM FLAPPING OPEN WHILE I DROVE DOWN THE ROAD. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP, AS WELL AS FORD CORPORATE, AND HAVE BASICALLY BEEN TOLD IT'S NOT THEIR PROBLEM AND I AM ON MY OWN TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR, BECAUSE MY CAR IS "TOO OLD" (JUST 5 YEARS FROM MFG DATE) AND HAS "TOO HIGH MILEAGE" (NOT THAT THE DOORS HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH MILEAGE) FOR FORD TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT IS CLEARLY AN ISSUE OF CHEAP, FAULTY PARTS AND POOR WORKMANSHIP. THIS PROBLEM IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET, AND IS CLEARLY NOT ISOLATED TO MY VEHICLE. THE INDICATORS REMAINED ILLUMINATED UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. IN ADDITION, THE SPEEDOMETER BECAME INOPERATIVE. UPON RESTARTING, THE MALFUNCTIONS CONTINUED AND THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESUME OPERATION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWO DIFFERENT TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THESE ARE BOTH THE ISSUES I'M HAVING. THE AIRBAGS LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND OFF WITHOUT THE SYSTEM BEING RESET. THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND HASN'T GONE OFF. IT CAME ON WHEN MY HUSBAND FILLED THE TANK UP ABOUT 3-4 WEEKS AGO. THE ONLY REASON WE'VE NOT HAD MY MECHANIC LOOK AT IS DUE TO INCOME. I'M DISABLED, MY HUSBAND IS IN THE PROCESS OF RETIRING IN SEPTEMBER AND HE WAS INJURED ON THE JOB AND HAS BEEN OUT FOR ABOUT 5 MONTHS. I WOULDN'T HAVE EVEN LOOKED ON THE INTERNET TO SEE IF THERE WERE RECALLS BUT WE'RE MAKING A TRIP TO DURHAM IN JULY AND NEED A RELIABLE VEHICLE AND ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE ENGINE CATCHING FIRE OR NOT GETTING THE FUEL NEEDED. THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FOR THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG ON THE DASHBOARD GOES ON AND OFF AND HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS. (I AM NOT SURE EXACTLY WHEN IT BEGAN, SINCE WHEN THE LIGHT WENT OFF, I THOUGHT THE PROBLEM WAS OVER) I HAVE HAD A CAR REPAIR SHOP TRY TO FIX IT SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THE PROBLEM HAS CONTINUED. THE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON (IN EVERY SEASON OF THE YEAR) WHEN THE WEATHER IS HUMID OR DAMP AND GOES OFF WHEN THE AIR IS DRIER. THE MECHANICS SAY THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY WHEN THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AND THAT I HAVE TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG AT A COST OF AROUND $400. I DO NOT BELIEVE IT IS A TAKATA AIRBAG, BUT AM NOT SURE. STILL, IT IS DEFECTIVE AND I THINK THESE AIRBAGS SHOULD BE INSPECTED IN OTHER FORD FOCUS MODELS IN WHICH THEY ARE INSTALLED. ALSO THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK (LOCKING FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT DOOR) STOPPED WORKING FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR MORE THAN A YEAR AGO. I NOW HAVE TO LOCK AND UNLOCK IT MANUALLY FROM THE INSIDE, REQUIRING THE PASSENGER TO WAIT OUTSIDE THE CAR WHILE I (DRIVER) GET INTO THE CAR AND UNLOCK THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. THIS POSES A SAFETY ISSUE FOR THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER.

1) THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT SEVERAL YEARS AGO ( APPROX. DECEMBER, 2011 - MILEAGE WAS APPROX. 45,000) WHEN THE CAR COLLIDED WITH AN ONCOMING CAR AND WAS DAMAGED ON THE FRONT END AND DRIVER'S SIDE. NO ONE WAS INJURED. DURING THE PAST 2 OR 3 YEARS, I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT HAS BEEN GOING ON AND OFF FOR DAYS AT A TIME. IT SEEMS TO BE AFFECTED BY HEAT AND HUMIDITY. IT SEEMS TO GO ON WHEN THE WEATHER IS HUMID AND OFF WHEN THE AIR IS DRY, AT ALL TIMES OF THE YEAR. I AM NOT SURE WHETHER THE AIRBAG WOULD DEPLOY WHEN IT IS NECESSARY. 2) DURING THE PAST YEAR, THE POWER STEERING HAS MAKING A LOUD GRINDING NOISE WHEN I TURN THE STEERING WHEEL EITHER RIGHT OR LEFT. A MECHANIC WHO WORKED ON IT SAID HE PUT A CLAMP ON IT AND REFILLED THE STEERING FLUID, WHICH HELPED FOR A FEW WEEKS, BUT THE PROBLEM HAS RETURNED. SO FAR THE STEERING HAS WORKED WELL, BUT I'M CONCERNED THAT POWER STEERING IS DEFECTIVE AND WEARING OUT TOO SOON.THE MECHANIC SAID IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE.

WITHOUT ANY INDICATION OF A LOW BATTERY, THE CAR BEGAN TO LOSE ELECTRICAL POWER WHILE DRIVING. AT FIRST, I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK WHEN I NOTICED MY RADIO STOPPED PLAYING. UPON LOOKING AT MY RADIO, I REALIZED THE LIGHTS WERE COMPLETELY OFF, INCLUDING THE CLOCK--WHICH STAYS ON EVEN IF I TURN THE RADIO OFF. I NOTICED I WAS VERY COLD, AND MY DEFROST HAD STOPPED WORKING. I WAS CLOSE ENOUGH TO GET TO MY APARTMENT OK. THE NEXT MORNING I HAD AN APPOINTMENT TO GET TO THE SHOP. AFTER READING THE OTHER COMPLAINTS OF SIMILAR DRIVERS OF 2007 FORD FOCUSES HAVING IDENTICAL ISSUES, I WAS NERVOUS ABOUT DRIVING TO THE SHOP. THERE ARE TWO RECURRING PROBLEMS THAT REALLY CONCERN ME: 1) TRANSMISSION/POWERTAIN LIGHT HAS FLICKERED ON-AND-OFF AND THEN GOES OFF COMPLETELY. INITIALLY I ASSUMED IT WAS A FUSE OR ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL EPISODES, THE SCARIEST TO DATE ON 2-20-12 THE CAR SEEMED TO "LOSE GEARS," SHUTTERED A LITTLE, AND SUDDENLY FELT IT WAS GOING TO STALL OUT ON A SHORT INCLINE. The contact stated that her mother-in-law owns a 2007 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while her mother-in-law was driving at an unknown speed, the front passenger’s side wheel detached from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the independent mechanic who diagnosed the failure as a control arm failure. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that 2 weeks later the driver’s side wheel detached. The vehicle was towed back to the independent mechanic who stated that the control arm had detached from the vehicle. The contact stated that 3 months later while stopped at a traffic light, the driver was unable to control the vehicle as the front passenger’s side wheel detached from the vehicle as well as the transmission slid into the engine. The transmission observation was by the tow truck company. The vehicle was towed to the owner's residence. The failure cause was not diagnosed by the dealer or an independent mechanic. The contact stated that the tow company informed her that the vehicle was unable to be towed on the flatbed due to the fact that the front end of the vehicle might detach. The contact stated that the headlights would also flicker on and off while driving. The contact stated that the independent mechanic replaced the light bulbs however, the failure continued. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

I GOT MY VEHICLE FROM AN AUCTION SITE, SO I DO NOT HAVE ANY HISTORY ON IT BEFORE 2016. THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND GOES OFF AT REGULAR INTERVALS, ESPECIALLY, WHEN THE CAR IS IN EXTREMELY COLD OR HOT TEMPERATURES. THE GAS PEDAL, ALSO, GETS STUCK, REGULARLY, I WOULD HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL WITH MY PRESSURE ON THE GAS PEDAL TO AVOID HITTING ANYTHING. I HAVE NOTICED THIS, OVER THE YEARS, WITH THE CAR IN STATIONARY MODE AND WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION, CITY OR HIGHWAY DRIVING BUT, ESPECIALLY, AFTER HAVING TO PERFORM A HARD BRAKE IN TRAFFIC. I NOTICED A VIBRATION THAT SEEMED TO INCREASE OVER TIME OF ABOUT 2 WEEKS. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER WHERE THEY REPLACED A WHEEL BEARING AND RECOMMENDED I REPLACE THE REAR TIRES DUE TO SEVERE CUPPING. THE TIRES ARE CONTINENTAL CONTACTS WITH ABOUT 10,000 MILES ON THEM AND SHOULD HAVE LASTED THE NEXT 5 YEARS. I WENT TO THE TIRE SHOP WHERE THEY TOLD ME THAT FORD FOCUSES ARE KNOWN TO HAVE ALIGNMENT PROBLEMS AND WILL DESTROY THEIR TIRES PREMATURELY. RESEARCHING THE INTERNET I FOUND 47 SUCH COMPLAINTS OVER THE YEARS RELATING EXACTLY TO WHAT I EXPERIENCED. THE PROBLEM IS THE REAR SUSPENSION IS CAMBERED IN TOO MUCH AT THE TOP AND FORD NEVER MADE THE SUSPENSION ADJUSTABLE. MINE MEASURED 1/4 INCH DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TOP OF THE 15 INCH RIM COMPARED TO THE BOTTOM. THIS SITS THE CAR ON THE INSIDE EDGE OF THE TIRE CREATING THE PREMATURE WEAR. LOCATED A BUNDLE OF WIRES WITHIN A RUBBER HOSE THAT RUNS FROM THE INTERIOR ROOF HEADLINE OUTER RIM OF THE VEHICLE ACROSS TO THE INTERIOR TOP OF THE HATCHBACK. WE PULLED DOWN THIS RUBBER PROTECTOR TO FIND TO OUR COMPLETE AMAZEMENT THAT THE BUNDLE OF WIRES THAT RUN TO THE HATCHBACK BRAKE LIGHT AND THE HATCHBACK WINDSHIELD WIPER WAS BROKEN AND BURNT. THOUGHT THAT THERE WAS A POSSIBLE LOOSE CONNECTION THAT JUST NEEDED TO BE SNAPPED BACK TOGETHER, BUT ONLY TO FIND A BUNDLE OF BROKEN AND BURNT WIRES WRAPPED TIGHTLY TOGETHER, PLUS THERE WAS NO BLACK WIRING TAPE AROUND THE WIRES FOR EXTRA PROTECTION. JUST THE WIRES TIGHTLY BOUND TOGETHER. LITTLE TO NONE FLEXIBILITY FOR THE BENDING OR MOVEMENT FOR THESE WIRES. THESE WIRES ARE LOCATED IN AN AREA WHERE THERE WOULD BE MOVEMENT DUE TO OPENING AND CLOSING THE HATCHBACK. CONTACTED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER. HE STATED THAT THE WIRE BUNDLE HAVE BEEN MADE SHORT IN SOME VEHICLES. OUR CONCERN:POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD AND STILL MAYBE UNTIL FIXED; CONCERN ARE FOR OTHER INDIVIDUALS WHO MAY OWN THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE THAT MAY BE TRANSPORTING PASSENGERS (TO INCLUDE CHILDREN IN CAR SEATS) IN THE BACK SEAT (WHICH THERE IS NO BACK SIDE PASSENGER DOORS) THAT COULD HAVE A DIFFICULT TIME EXITING THIS VEHICLE SHOULD IT GO ON FIRE DUE TO THESE BUNDLE OF WIRES POSSIBLY CATCHING ON FIRE AND IGNITING THE INTERIOR ROOF HEADLINER OF THE VEHICLE. SOON AFTER MY CAR WENT OUT OF WARRANTY (AT ABOUT 37,000 MILES IN FALL 2009), THE AIR RECIRCULATION FUNCTION ON THE A/C STOPPED WORKING. THE INDICATOR LIGHT GOES ON, BUT THE AIR CONTINUES TO BE DRAWN FROM OUTSIDE. I TOOK MY CAR TO MY DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE MOTOR THAT OPENS AND CLOSES A VENT DOOR HAD DIED. IT WOULD COST ABOUT $600 FOR THE MOTOR, PLUS THE LABOR COST OF REMOVING THE DASH TO ACCESS THE MOTOR. BECAUSE OF THE HUGE EXPENSE, I DECIDED TO LIVE WITH THE PROBLEM. 2007 FORD FOCUS WAGON WITH ALL THE WIRES (ABOUT 10 OF THEM) IN THE BODY TO LIFTGATE WIRING HARNESS CRACKED OR BROKEN. FOUND DUE TO BRAKE LAMP FUSE BLOWING REPEATEDLY, CAUSING LOSS OF ALL BRAKE LIGHTS AND A/T SHIFT LEVER INTERLOCK OPERATION. IT MIGHT HAVE GONE UNNOTICED IF IT WASN'T FOR THE INTERLOCK NOT WORKING. CAR IS OFF WARRANTY SO FORD WILL NOT FIX UNLESS I PAY FOR IT. THIS IS A DEFINITE SAFETY ITEM IN MY OPINION. I WILL REPLACE THE WIRES MYSELF AS I AM AN AIRCRAFT ELECTRICIAN. HAVE 2007 FORD FOCUS SE WITH 50,000MIL ON IT. 1ST OFFENSE HAPPENED JULY 2009. HAD TO REPLACE 100,000 MIL WARRANTY SPARK PLUGS(FORD PRODUCT) @ 38,000 MIL.THEY WERE BURNT TO CRISP .REPLACED THEN 2 WKS LATER BTWN 45-50 AN HR MY CAR WAS SHIFTING LIKE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. I WAS TOLD I NO LONGER HAD A WARRANTY(FORD DIRECTLY SAID THIS) WENT TO ANOTHER REP COMPANY. TOLD ME MY CYLINDERS WERE GOING OUT. NO ENGINE LIGHT WAS COMING ON. COMPANY TOLD ME TO CALL FORD DIRECTLY BECAUSE MAYBE THERE WAS A RECALL. THEY TOLD ME THERE WASN'T AND THAT I DID HAVE A POWERTRAIN WARRANTY BUT THIS WAS NOT COVERED,YET MY OWNERS MANUAL SAYS THAT CYLINDERS ARE COVERED BY POWERTRAIN. I PAID OVER $200 TO FIX PROBLEMS IN AUG 2009.IT IS NOW OCT 2009 AND I WILL HAVE TO REPLACE EVERYTHING AGAIN! I AM TO THIS DATE BARELY OVER 2 YRS OLD ON THE VEHICLE(BOUGHT AUG 2007) AND JUST NOW TURNED OVER 50,000 MIL. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING TO THIS VEHICLE. ON JUNE 13, 2009, MY HUSBAND, MY 16 MONTH OLD SON AND I WERE DRIVING ON I95 S FROM NORTH CAROLINA TO SOUTH CAROLINA WHEN MY REAR LEFT TIRE BLEW OUT. THIS SENT US FISH TAILING ACROSS ALL LANES AND FINALLY WHEN THE BACK OF MY CAR SPUN AROUND INTO THE SHOULDER, THE CAR FLIPPED ONTO THE DRIVER SIDE, THEN ONTO THE TOP OF THE CAR, THEN FINALLY LANDING BACK UPRIGHT. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR WOULD CONTINUOUSLY ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE DEALER REMOVED THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE MECHANISM. THE REPAIRS WERE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. LESS THAN A YEAR LATER, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AGAIN FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE TO THE STEERING WHEEL. IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR WOULD NOT LOCK AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURES. A DIAGNOSTIC WAS PERFORMED; HOWEVER, NO ERROR CODES WERE PRODUCED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE MAKING LEFT OR RIGHT TURNS, THE STEERING WHEEL FELT AS IF IT WOULD POP OFF. THE DEALER FOUND A DEFECT WITH THE STEERING COLUMN AND HAD THE COMPONENT REPLACED. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE FORD DEALER STATED THAT THERE MAY BE AN ISSUE WITH THE AIR BAGS FOR A PLETHORA OF REASONS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE DOES NOT FEEL SAFE OPERATING THE VEHICLE. HE WAS VERY LEARY OF OPERATING THE VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY DUE TO THE FACT OF NOT HAVING A FUNCTIONING AIR BAG IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. NO ADDITIONAL REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE AIR BAGS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 53,786.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD FOCUS. THE VEHICLE HAS GOODYEAR TIRES, SIZE P19560R15 (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRES HAD A SLOW LEAK, WHICH FORCED HER TO PLACE AIR IN THEM EVERY WEEK OR TWO WEEKS. SHE STATED THAT THE DEALER SOLD HER A DEFECTIVE VEHICLE DUE TO THE TIRES AND CUP HOLDER. THE DEALER STATED THAT ALL OF THE TIRES WERE GOOD AND CONTAINED NO FAILURES. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS A CRACK ON THE WINDSHIELD WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE TIRE LINE WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,000. CLD SPREEN HONDA SPOKE TO OWNER WHO SENT ME TO A SALESMAN. I WAS TOLD IT WAS DEFECTIVE PARTS & HAD TO BE ORDERED. NO COURTESY CAR THIS TIME LIKE THE FIRST TIME SO I WAS STRANDED (I'M DISABLED AND ND TRANS). THE CAR IS FALLING APART LITTLE BY LITTLE WITH THE BACK DOOR HANDLE BROKEN COMPLETELY. THE SELLER (SPREEN HONDA) SAID I WOULD HV TO GET A NEW LOAN ON A NEW VEHICLE INSTEAD OF 'EXCHANGING VEHICLES' AS PROMISED IN MY CONVERSATIONS WITH THE OWNER, AT SPREEN HONDA, PLACE OF PURCHASE. I REFUSED THIS 'HUSTLE' BECAUSE THIS WAS NOT WHAT I WAS TOLD OVER THE PHONE, BUT AFTER 2ND SET OF REPAIRS, THE CAR WOULD BE REPLACED...NOT ME PURCHASE ANOTHER CAR AND GIVE UP ANOTHER DOWN PAYMENT! I DIDN'T AGREE TO THIS AND WALKED OUT. THIS CAR HAS BEEN UNDER REPAIR FOR WEEKS OFF/ON FOR THE SAME OR SIMILAR PROBLEM I.E., THE TRANSMISSION FIRST REPAIR WAS ONLY A FEW MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE, ALONG WITH FRONT END SHAKING. I HAVE TWO PROBLEMS WITH DESIGN FLAWS IN MY 2007 FORD FOCUS SSE: (1) .BECAUSE OF WHERE THE DOOR LOCK IS LOCATED, JUST ABOVE THE DOOR HANDLES (FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES) ALL THE DOORS WILL LOCK AT TIMES AND YOU DON'T REALIZE IT WHEN YOU OPEN, GET OUT, THEN CLOSE THE DOOR. MOST OFTEN IN SITUATIONS WHERE YOU HAVE LEFT THE MOTOR RUNNING WITH THE KEY NOW LOCKED INSIDE. THIS HAPPENS BECAUSE OF COMING IN CONTACT WITH THIS LOCK WITH YOUR FINGERS OR HAND WHILE OPENING THE DOOR WITH THE HANDLE. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS DESPITE NOW KNOWING WHAT CAUSES THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A COMPLETE NUISANCE AND DANGEROUS IF CHILDREN WOULD HAPPEN TO BE LEFT IN THE CAR WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AND THE DOORS LOCKED AND NO SECOND KEY ON HAND. (2). THE SECOND PROBLEM I HAVE WITH THE AUTOMOBILE IS I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE "AUDI EFFECT" WHERE THE CAR ACCELERATES ON OCCASION WHEN BRAKING. THIS I ALSO ASCRIBE TO A DESIGN FLAW: THE BRAKE PEDAL AND GAS PEDAL ARE PLACED TOO CLOSE TOGETHER AND AT A RELATIVE CLOSE HEIGHT TO ONE ANOTHER. AFTER TAKING THE DEFENSIVE POSITION, IN A POTENTIAL BRAKING SITUATION, IF YOU HAVE TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE QUICKLY AND HARD, THE CAR ACCELERATES. THIS TAKES YOU COMPLETELY BY SUPRISE AND IT TAKES TIME TO RESPOND. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THE SAME WAY FOR 45 YEARS, WITH MANY VEHICLES, AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM. LUCKILY THE CAR SAT MOST OF THE WINTER BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEM I DESCRIBED PREVIOUSLY AND NO ONE HAD THIS EXPERIENCE ON SNOW COVERED OR ICY ROADS. I BROUGHT THIS UP AT THE END OF APRIL IN A VISIT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD TO FILE A COMPLAINT BY SERVICE MANAGER STEVE LOVALVO. I WANT TO BRING BOTH OF THESE DEFECTS TO YOUR ATTENTION BECAUSE I FEEL THAT I HAVE LEASED A LEMON THAT HAS PROBLEMS THAT CANNOT BE SERVICED BY THE DEALERSHIP AND PRESENTS POTENTIAL PROBLEMS FOR MANY OTHER DRIVERS ALSO. *TR

I CAME HOME AND PARKED MY FOCUS AS USUAL. I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AS ALWAYS AND ENGAGED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. WHEN I GOT UP THE NEXT MORNING AND WENT OUTSIDE, MY CAR HAD ROLLED INTO A LIGHT POLE AT MY HOUSE AND DONE CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE TO THE DRIVER'S DOOR. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS STILL ENGAGED. I HAD JUST GOTTEN MY CAR THE DAY BEFORE FROM THE REPAIR SHOP SO ALL WAS IN WORKING ORDER WITH THIS VEHICLE. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A WINDSHIELD DEFECT BECAUSE IT WAS NOT INTACT. THE SEALANT WAS PLACED ON THE ROOF OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH CONTRIBUTED TO THE FAULTY WINDSHIELD. SHE ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ALIGNMENT ISSUE THAT CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STEER TO THE LEFT WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH. THE VEHICLE MATS WERE STEAMED BY THE DEALER AND NEVER DRIED. AS A RESULT, THE WINDOWS WERE FROSTED INSIDE THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. THE CONTACT FOUND RUST IN THE DASHBOARD COMPONENTS AND THE FUSE BOX. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 897 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 692.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT HEARS METAL GRINDING FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN. HE STATED THAT THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE, BUT ARE STILL SQUEAKING. WHEN HE RELEASES THE CLUTCH AND SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL, HE HEARS A KNOCKING SOUND. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE MAKES A TICKING SOUND AS IF IT WILL EXPLODE. THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL IN DIAGNOSING AND REPAIRING ALL OF THESE FAILURES. THE REPAIRS USUALLY LAST APPROXIMATELY 3-4 WEEKS BEFORE THE FAILURES RECUR. THE CONTACT REQUESTED THAT THE DEALER REPLACE HIS VEHICLE WITH A NEW VEHICLE. THE SPEED WAS UNKNOWN.
