Took the 2005 Mustang GT in several years ago to have one airbag replaced. Dealer (Autonation Torrance, California) stated parts were not available for the other side. One of the airbags has never been replaced. I now read there is a "Do Not Drive" recall for vehicles of this year and model in "Zone A".

Allen , our son had accident Friday May 20th in our 2005 Ford Mustang gt. He swerved to miss something in the road and lost control of the vehicle. It actually rolled over but also damaged the front end enough to bend the frame rails. The ai bags did not set off. There was a recall on them and we had them replaced by Ford in 2020 . My wife and I felt like they should have deployed . Thanks

Brought the vehicle in for airbag replacement. Made an appointment ahead of time. Left the car over night. Contacted the service dept the next day and they told me the repair was done. I went in and was handed the keys and paperwork and told it was done. I kept getting recall notices from Ford, so I contacted them to let them know the airbags had been replaced. They insisted I never brought the car in, but I have the paperwork. Upon going over the details with Ford during the first phone call. Only one airbag had been replaced, and they gave the car back to me under the impression it was safe to drive. Last week was the third time I've contacted. Each time they say they will investigate the matter and never call back. I've lost confidence in this dealership and Ford for being unwilling to admit they dropped the ball and fix the problem. Their letters say they will come to you, but that's not happening either. I would like to watch this being done, sorry I just don't trust them anymore. (I have the paperwork)

THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHEEHY FORD OF MARLOW HEIGHTS (LOCATED AT 5000 AUTH RD, CAMP SPRINGS, MD 20746, (301) 298-0793) EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

TAKATA INFLATORS. I HAVE BEEN TRYING SINCE LAST AUGUST TO GET THE RECALL DONE ON BOTH MY FRONT AIRBAGS.FIRST THE DEALER(CHARLES GABUS FORD IN DESMOINES IOWA)PROMISED ME A LOANER CAR FOR THE DAY MY CAR WOULD BE IN THE SHOP,ONLY TO TRAVEL THERE 40 MILES AND THEN THEY SAY THEY HAD NONE AVAILABLE.THEN I CONTACTED FORD MOTOR CO. RECALL DEPARTMENT JUST TO TRY TO GET MY NAME OFF OF THEIR RECALL MAILING LIST DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY DON'T REALLY TAKE THIS RECALL SERIOUSLY.AFTER REQUESTING TO TALK TO A SUPERVISOR BECAUSE I WAS GETTING NOWHERE WITH THIS WOMAN ,SHE SIMPLY HUNG UP ON ME.

I've own a 2005 Mustang GT since the year 2012. Throughout the years I've encountered problems where the cooling fan would abruptly shut off and cause the engine to overheat. The first time this happened I had to pull over to the side of the road countless of times just to let my car get cool enough to get back home. I brought the Mustang GT in to a mechanic who suggested to replace the radiator fan. After replacing it, the fan would work for a few weeks only for it to randomly shut off, but turn back on. Just recently I found oil in my spark plugs and found the following OBD II error codes: P0480 Fan 1 Control Circuit & P0481 Fan 2 Control Circuit. I am convinced the valve seals and maybe the piston rings were worn out due to excessive heat caused by the Mustang's electrical issues with the radiator fan. After searching online, I found countless amounts of threads and videos of other Mustang owners experiencing the same issue. Most of them are caused by a faulty relay connection inside the Mustang's fuse box that is causing the radiator fan to fail. The faulty relay would get burnt and cause a short thus not providing power to the radiator fan which left many owners stranded on the road and caused over thousands of dollars in damages to their engine. The part that gets burnt is not easily available and would require owners to pay an additional thousands of dollars to reconnect the relays. Some owners had no choice but to create a makeshift wired connection from their radiator fan to the dashboard so that their vehicle's engine can remain under normal operating temperatures while driving. The contact owns a 2005 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the speedometer and several unknown gauges on the instrument cluster became inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the instrument cluster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 56,981.

The contact stated that after parking and turning the vehicle off for extended periods of time, the vehicle would not restart, and the battery needed to be recharged. The vehicle was taken to the local service center who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

The contact owns a 2005 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that one day after a rainstorm she noticed several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the headlights were inoperable due to the water leaking into the interior of the vehicle. Additionally, there was water leaking into the interior of the dashboard. There was also water coming out of the driver’s side front air vent and the interior lighting in the vehicle from the interior module and center console. The lights were flickering on and off. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer however, the dealer was not able to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

I'M HAVING THE SAME ISSUE EVERYONE ELSE IS WITH THEIR SPEEDOMETER, TACH, FUEL GAGE. IT WAS WORKING FINE, THE WEATHER WARMED UP AND IT WOULD WORK SOMETIMES. THEN IT JUST STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE I HAVE NO WAY OF TELLING HOW FAST I'M GOING. I COULD UNDERSTAND THIS HAPPENING IF I HAD 100,000 MILES ON IT, BUT AS OF YESTERDAY, 4/26/2021 IT JUST HIT 39,034. WITH EVERYONE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE, HOW IS NOT A SAFETY RECALL. I HAD TO REPLACE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AT COST OF $875. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND A DANGEROUS ONE.

The contact owns a 2005 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while her husband was attempting to fuel the vehicle, the fuel tank was unable to be fully fueled. The contact stated that either the nozzle would shut off prematurely or gasoline would be prevented from flowing into the fuel tank. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent, but by late 2024, the fuel tank could no longer be filled, and the vehicle was placed in storage. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer prior to being placed in storage, and the contact was informed that the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The contact was made aware of Technical Service Bulletin Number: 05-15012; however, the vehicle was not covered under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.

OUR 2005 FORD MUSTANG V6 STARTED SHOWING NO FUEL ON THE GAUGE APPROXIMATED IN JUNE OF 2013. AT FIRST IT WAS RANDOM BUT NOW IT NEVER SHOWS GAS IN THE TANK EVEN WHEN THE TANK IS FULL. WE KEEP TRACK OF THE MILES AND KEEP IT FILLED BECAUSE WE HAVE NO GAUGE. AS OF MARCH 2014 THE CAR HAS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AND HAS STARTED TO STOP WHEN AT INTERSECTIONS. IT ACTS LIKE IT HAS NO GAS. I OWN A FORD MUSTANG 2005 V6. THE FIRST THING TO HAPPEN AROUND DECEMBER OF 2013 WAS MY GAS GAUGE DROPPED TO EMPTY AND THE LOW FUEL LIGHT CAME ON WITH A MESSAGE OF FAILURE TO READ THE AMOUNT OF GAS OF VEHICL WHEN IN FACT I HAD A FULL TANK. THIS STARTED DOING IT EVERY SO OFTEN AND NOW DOES IT ON A DAILY OCCURRENCE, THE CHECK ENGINE IS ON AND I HAVE DIFICULTIES TO PASS POLLUTION TEST IN ILLINOIS BECAUSE OF THAT. IN 2008 FORD REPLACED THE GAS TANK ON THE FORD MUSTANG BECAUSE OF A DEFECT IN THE GAS TANK FOR REFUELING. ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON INDICATING EITHER LOW FUEL PRESSURE OR EMITTING EMISSIONS. ON DEC 15 2016 APPROXIMATELY 8:15 P.M I WENT TO THE 711 A MINUTE UP THE ROAD FROM MY HOUSE. AS I WAS LEAVING THE STORE TO GET ON DOUBLE CREEK DR TO COME BACK HOME I WAS ENTERING THE STREET TO GET IN THE FAR LEFT TURNING LANE TO MAKE A U TURN AT THE LIGHT TO GO BACK TO MY HOUSE . I WAS SLOWLY COME OUT OF THE DRIVE WAY OF 711 PICKED UP SPEED ABOUT 15 -20 MPH . WHEN SUDDENLY THE GAS THROTTLE STARTED PICKING UP SPEED . I WAS HEADED STRAIGHT FOR THE RED LIGHT THE GAS PEDDLE QUICKLY PICKED UP SPEED . THERE WAS TRAFFIC THAT HAD A GREEN LIGHT GOING HORIZONTALLY, I TRIED EVERYTHING TO TRY AND STOP MY VEHICLE . IN ORDER TO AVOID GETTING T BONED I TURNED MY OUT OF CONTROL CAR FROM THE THROTTLE BEING STUCK TO THE FAR RIGHT SCARED FOR MY LIFE . THERE WAS A VEHICLE TURNING LEFT AND I HIT THE DRIVER SIDE OF VEHICLE ALL THE WAY DOWN THE SIDE . WHEN THAT HAPPENED . I WAS ABLE TO BRAKE SLOW DOWN THE CAR AND PULL INTO THE STORE. WITH IN A FEW MINUTES THE POLICE OFFICERS WERE THERE . THERE WAS DAMAGE TO BOTH OUR VEHICLES . MY MUSTANG WILL BE TOTALED . THE OTHER GENTLEMAN TOOK OFF IN AN AMBULANCE . THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM THANK GOD NOBODY WAS KILLED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAS THE CAR AND WE ARE GOING TO REQUEST AND ASK THAT FORD DO A DATA DOWN LOAD OR INSURANCE COMPANY . MY 05 V6 MUSTANG'S INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS GOING OUT. THE TACTOMITER STAYS AT ZERO AT ALL TIMES AND THE SPEEDOMITER VARIES. AT TIME MY SPEEDOMITER ACTS NORMAL THEN IT WILL GO BELLOW ZERO. MY SPEEDOMITER WILL FIX ITS SELF AFTER 10 - 15 MINUTES OF THE CAR BEING TURNED OFF. I HAVE NOTICED, ON THE INTERNET, THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY EXACT YEAR MODEL EVEN IF THEY HAVE REALLY LOW MILAGE. I BELIEVE THAT FORD SHOULD RECALL AND FIX THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE NOT BEING ABLE TO TELL HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING IS QUITE THE SAFTEY HAZARD. THE SPEEDOMETER IS ERRATIC. SOMETIMES IT SHOWS I AM DRIVING 40 MILES OVER THE SPEED I AM AT AND IN IDLE IT SOMETIMES SHOWS THE SPEED NEEDLE BELOW THE ZERO. SOMETIMES IT SHOWS I AM DRIVING 20MPH UNDER WHAT I THINK I'M DRIVING AT. RESULTING IN 4 TICKETS. I AM PAYING OVER $500 TO HAVE FORD REPLACE THE CLUSTER.

UPON FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE MANUFACTURER ISSUED OWNER'S MANUAL WHICH STATES "TO SET THE PARKING BRAKE, PULL THE PARKING BRAKE HANDLE UP AS FAR AS POSSIBLE", I EXPERIENCED A LOUD POPPING SOUND FOLLOWED BY THE INABILITY TO USE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED PARKING BRAKE SINCE THE CABLES HAD BEEN SNAPPED. I HAVE SEEN THAT THERE ARE NUMEROUS ISSUES AND COMPLAINTS PERTAINING TO THE PARKING BRAKE/PARKING BRAKE CABLES WITH 2005 FORD MUSTANGS, BUT IT APPEARS THAT NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE EVEN THOUGH FORD HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THE INEFFICIENCY OF THESE CABLES BY REPLACING THEM IN THE 2007 AND LATER MUSTANG MODELS. THE RUBBER COATING OF THESE CABLES IS APPARENTLY INEFFICIENT IN KEEPING MOISTURE AND WATER OUT OF THE CABLE ITSELF AS EXPRESSED BY MANY UNHAPPY FORD MUSTANG OWNERS, WHICH IN TURN CAUSED MY CABLES TO RUST AND EVENTUALLY SNAP. I FIND IT EXTREMELY ALARMING THAT THIS IS SUCH A PREVALENT COMPLAINT YET NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM BY EITHER FORD OR THE NHTSA. HAD THE OWNER'S MANUAL ISSUED BY FORD NOT SAID "PULL THE PARKING BRAKE HANDLE UP AS FAR AS POSSIBLE" MY ISSUE AND POSSIBLY MANY OTHERS WOULD NOT HAVE COME TO FRUITION, SINCE IN AN ATTEMPT TO SECURE MY VEHICLE BASED ON THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS MY PARKING BRAKE CABLES BROKE AS A RESULT OF THE FAULTY RUBBER COATING. ALSO, THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE I WOULD HAVE NOT ENCOUNTERED THIS PROBLEM HAD THE OWNER'S MANUAL STATED TO ONLY RAISE THE PARKING BRAKE UNTIL A FAIR AMOUNT OF TENSION IS FELT. HOWEVER, THE ISSUE I EXPERIENCED WOULD HAVE MOST LIKELY BEEN INEVITABLE GIVEN THE NUMEROUS ISSUES AND COMPLAINTS ALREADY SURROUNDING THE PROBLEMS WITH THE PARKING BRAKE AND CABLE, SO LUCKILY I EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM WITHOUT MYSELF OR ANYONE ELSE SUFFERING ANY INJURIES. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS ISSUE AS IT IS EXTRAORDINARILY UNFAIR TO PUT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF REPAIR ON THE CONSUMER WHEN THE MANUFACTURER COULD HAVE TAKEN STEPS TO FIX THIS ISSUE, AND HAS DONE SO IN LATER MODELS. *TR

MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG FAILED VIRGINIA STATE SAFETY INSPECTION DUE TO ALL 3 EMERGENCY BRAKE CABLES NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT BY FORD (TSB 0654) AND NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. NUMEROUS OWNERS FOUND ON THE WWW HAVE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS AND HAVE FACED LARGE REPAIR COST ($500-700) AS WELL AS VEHICLES ROLLING OUT INTO THE STREET CAUSING ACCIDENTS WHEN LEFT UNATTENDED ON INCLINES. THE PARKING BRAKES HAVE LOCKED UP IN COLD WEATHER. THIS IN MY OPINION IS A SAFETY ITEM AND SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPAIRED IMMEDIATELY. NOW TRANSMISSION LEAKS, NOTICED SOME OIL AT A FEW HUNDREDS WIPED IT CLEAN THINKING IT WAS RESIDUE FROM THE FLUSH. AT 50K CHECKED AGAIN AND LEAK IN WORSE AND TOOK BACK TO DEALERSHIP (JONES FORD, N. CHARLESTON, SC). DEALER REFUSED TO COVER THE REPAIR OF THE LEAK, STATING LEAK WAS NOT CAUSED BY ROUTINE MAINTENANCE THEY PERFORMED, ALTHOUGH STATES THEY DO THESE ROUTINELY AND OCCASIONALLY CARS COME BACK LEAKING FROM THE PROCEDURE. Filling gas tank is a nightmare, the first batch of the newly remodeled vehicle. When filling it it'll pump for 3 seconds and then click off and shoot gas out because it thinks it's full so you have to click it on the lowest possible setting. It's a 16 gallon tank and if it's completely empty the first eight gallons will pump fine anything over that because of the way the tank is shaped is where the airlock is and that's when you can barely touch the gas lever before it clicks off and shoots gas up It takes me 20 minutes to fill up so anything before the half a tank mark will fill normally but once it's over half a tank is when the problem arises. From all of the forums that I've looked at for this new remodeled 2005 year this was a common problem and the mustangs built for the first 6 months and judging by the belt date mine was in March so far well within the first 6 months. When I pulled out the extra gas that dripped onto the ground caught on fire so I had to jump out and luckily I had a fire extinguisher in my trunk but that was terrifying because I'm at a gas station and the whole thing could have went up in flames.

while driving home just as I was switching lanes, the car sputtered badly and a wrench light appeared on dash. Since then, the car did not exceed 20 miles per hour. as I conducted research, a lot of mustangs have this issue and it is theorized to be the throttle body.

OVER TIME, THE VEHICLE GAS TANK HAS DEVELOPED A CONDITION WHERE FILLING UP THE TANK PREMATURELY CAUSES THE GAS PUMP TO SHUT OFF PRIOR TO THE TANK BEING FULL OF GAS. TYPICALLY AFTER ONLY A FEW SECONDS. IF YOU TRY TO ENGAGE THE PUMP AGAIN, A BUILDUP OF PRESSURE CAN CAUSE GASOLINE TO SHOOT BACK OUT OF THE TANK AND ALL OVER THE GROUND AND THE PERSON PUMPING GAS. THE ONLY WAY AROUND THIS IS TO FILL THE TANK WITH THE NOZZLE UPSIDE DOWN. SOMEHOW THIS DISENGAGES WHATEVER SAFETY MECHANISM THE GAS PUMP HAS, AND ALLOWS THE USER TO PUMP A FULL TANK OF GAS. FORD EVEN HAS A TSB RELATED TO THIS ISSUE. IT STATES SOMETHING TO THE POINT OF A DESIGN FLAW IN THE GAS TANK. IT'S ONLY REMEDY IS TO REPLACE THE TANK, OR THEY LITERALLY SUGGEST GOING TO A DIFFERENT GAS STATION. SOME PUMPS ARE DIFFERENT AND THAT USED TO WORK, BUT AT THIS POINT THERE IS NOT PUMP THAT I DO NOT ENCOUNTER THIS ISSUE WITH.

THERE IS AN APPARENT DESIGN FLAW IN 2005 MUSTANGS AS I HAVE READ HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS AS TO WHAT I AM EXPERIENCING. DUE TO THIS DESIGN FLAW AFTER A RECENT DAY OF HEAVY RAIN 1 HEADLIGHT AND 1 SIGNAL LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF ONCE THE CAR HAS BEEN SHUT OFF. I RESEARCHED AND APPARENTLY THE SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) GOT WET AND THE ELECTRICAL UNIT IS NOW MALFUNCTIONING. THERE WAS ALSO A STRONG BURNING SMELL WHEN I GOT HOME THAT NIGHT AS WELL. SPOKE WITH AN ONLINE MECHANIC TECHNICIAN AND HE CONFIRMED THAT THE SJB NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THERE HAS BEEN A LONG HISTORY OF THE CAR LEAKING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WHENEVER IT RAINS DUE TO THE DESIGN FLAW. ALSO MY GAS GAUGE NEVER READS PROPERLY, INSIDE LIGHTS ARE ALSO DIM/OFF AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN GOING ON AND OFF FOR NEARLY A YEAR AND MY MECHANIC COULD NOT DIAGNOSE WHY THE REVIEWS ONLINE SAID WHEN THEY SPOKE TO FORD THAT ADMITTED THAT IT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM BUT BECAUSE THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL THAT THEY WILL NOT REPAIR THIS FOR FREE. WATER DRAINS DOWN WIRING HARNESS INTO THE SMART JUNCTION BOX CASING ELECTRICAL SHORTS THAT AT FIRST CAUSED THE RIGHT HEADLAMP TO SHUTDOWN AFTER 15 SECONDS. RECYCLING THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH BRINGS THE HEADLIGHT BACK ON FOR ANOTHER 15 SECONDS. THIS CONDITION RENDERS THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO OPERATE FROM SUNSET TO SUNRISE. NOW THE DRIVERS SIDE HEADLAMP HAS BEGUN THE SAME PROBLEM. I CHECKED ONLINE AND IT IS APPARENT THAT THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE FOR WHICH THE VEHICLE MANUFACTURER HAS NO PART AVAILABLE TO FIX. THEY INITIALLY INFORMED ME THAT THE SMJ WOULD BE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE LAST SEPTEMBER. THAT HAS NOW BEEN PUSHED BACK TO FEBRUARY OF 2016. THEY WANT OVER $400 FOR THE PART PLUS ADDITIONAL LABOR TO PROGRAM AND INSTALL A COMPONENT THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED YEARS AGO. THIS PROBLEM IS ALREADY COVERED UNDER A TSB AND THE DEFECT CAN CAUSE A MULTITUDE OF MALFUNCTIONS THAT COULD EASILY RESULT IN LIFE THREATENING SITUATIONS. I JUST RECENTLY CHECKED AND FOUND OVER 286 REPORTS ON FILE WITH NHTSA, YET NO APPARENT INVESTIGATIONS APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN CONDUCTED, NOR A RECALL. IT IS MY SINCER HOPE THAT NHTSA IS NOT WAITING FOR A BODY COUNT BEFORE TAKING ACTION. THERE IS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT THAT ALLOWS WATER LEAKAGE INTO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL/SMART BOX JUNCTION AND SUBSEQUENTLY INTO THE VEHICLE ITSELF. RESULTANT ISSUES INCLUDE THE INABILITY TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE (FROZEN SHIFT), ELECTRICAL FAILURE WITH LOSS OF INSTRUMENTS INCLUDING VARIOUS GAUGES, BRAKE LIGHTS, VENTILATION/AC, POWER WINDOWS, AND HEADLIGHTS, AND PHYSICAL WATER DAMAGE (MOLD/MILDEW). FORD IS AWARE OF THE DEFECT AND LATER MODELS WERE REDESIGNED TO COMPENSATE FOR THE FLAW. HOWEVER, FORD REFUSES TO ISSUE A RECALL OR ACKNOWLEDGE THE DEFICIENCY, NOR WILL THEY PROVIDE ANY KIND OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WITH THE NECESSARY REPAIRS DIRECTLY CAUSED BY THIS DEFECT. SHOULD THE MUSTANG EXPERIENCE THE ABOVE MENTIONED ELECTRICAL FAILURES WHILE BEING DRIVEN, AN ACCIDENT COULD OCCUR. THERE ARE NUMEROUS SIMILAR INCIDENTS REPORTED ABOUT THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE, AND FORD MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. I SPOKE TO FORD "CUSTOMER SERVICE" ON 5/5/11 TO REPORT THE ISSUE AND REQUEST FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE REPAIRS. I WAS TOLD TO TAKE MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, PAY FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST, AND HAVE THE DEALERSHIP CONFIRM THE "DEFECT". I MADE A FOLLOW-UP CALL TO FORD "CUSTOMER SERVICE" ON 5/9/10 TO REPORT THAT THE SERVICE MANAGER DID CONFIRM THE DEFECT AND THAT HE HAD SEEN SIMILAR PROBLEMS. HOWEVER, FORD SAID THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE, WOULD NOT PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, AND THAT I WAS "MISINFORMED" BY MY INITIAL CALL TO FORD IN GIVING ME HOPE THEY COULD SOMEHOW HELP ME. ADDITIONALLY, THEY STATED THAT I "SHOULD NOT EXPECT MY FORD VEHICLE TO LAST BEYOND 100K MILES". IN THE MEANTIME, WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TOWING, DIAGNOSTIC, AND REPAIR BILLS, SO THE FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS PROFITING FROM THIS. THIS WAS OUR FOURTH FORD VEHICLE, AND IT WILL CERTAINLY BE OUR LAST.

I purchased this car from Trent Family Auto on May 2, 2024. On September 11, 2024 the engine failed. While working on replacing the engine I found an open recall. This is safety related and was never mentioned to me by the dealership. So aside from selling me a bad "as is" they sold me an unsafe vehicle. A vehicle my family has ridden in several times since the purchase. In regard to the recall when I reached out to them about the engine replacement cost they stated recalls can only be taken care of by manufacturing dealerships. Shouldn't they have some ownership to inform customer buying an unsafe vehicle there is an open recall? Thank your for checking into this matter.

CLUSTER WITH ODOMETER GAUGE, HOT/COLD GAUGE, SOMETIMES GAS GAUGE ARE ALL SHOWING WRONG INFORMATION. THE SPEED ODOMETER WILL BE SHOWING 80 MILES OR MORE WHEN YOU ARE ONLY DRIVING 45. THIS IS VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON MUSTANG 2005 AS I HAVE READ ON MANY FORUMS. I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FROM LAST YEAR BUT I HAD NO WAY OF KNOWING WHERE TO COMPLAIN BECAUSE THIS IS SAFETY ISSUE, I HAVE NO IDEA HOW FAST I AM GOING OR WHEN I WILL BE OUT OF GAS. AFTER ONE CLEANING OF REAR WINDOW THE DEFROSTER STOPPED WORKING. CAR HAS ONLY 20,860 MILES ON IT. MOSTLY GARAGED. NOW BEYOND WARRANTY OF 36 MOS/36 MILES. GRID IS DEFECTIVE AND WAS BEFORE WARRANTY EXPIRED AND WAS NOT DISCOVERED UNTIL AFTERWARDS. FORD REFUSED TO FIX.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE BUT IT WOULD NOT START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE MECHANIC STATED THAT WATER HAD DAMAGED THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND THE COMPUTER SYSTEM, WHICH WOULD NEED REPLACING. THE CONTACT HAD PREVIOUSLY NOTICED WATER LEAKING FROM UNDER THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT ONTO THE PASSENGER'S FEET. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,536.

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE USING THE FUEL PUMPS AT VARIOUS SERVICE STATIONS FUEL WOULD SPILL OUT. THE FUEL SPILLS FROM THE TANK BEFORE THE AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE BREATHER TUBE AND THE FUEL TANK. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS UNABLE TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. THERE ARE SERVICE BULLETINS FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM, THE MANUFACTURER NUMBERS ARE 05-15-12 AND 06-3-13. THE CONTACT TRIED DIFFERENT GAS PUMPS AND DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS WITH THE SAME RESULTS. MY 2005 MUSTANG GT HAS HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS SINCE OWNERSHIP. I PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW AND EVEN HAD TO ORDER THE DETAILS I WANTED ON THE CAR. SINCE OWNERSHIP, I HAVE HAD THE CAR INTO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THERE IS A VIBRATION THAT HAS BEEN UNABLE TO BE IDENTIFIED AS OF YET. DESPITE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENTS CALLS TO FORD. VIBRATION IS STILL PRESENT. THE OTHER PROBLEM IS THE FUEL GAUGE DROPS TO "E" AND AN ERROR LIGHT COMES ON. SERVICE DEPT. WAS UNABLE TO DETECT PROBLEM UNTIL THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON. COMPUTER CODE SAID THAT THE PROBLEM WAS IN THE SULFUR IN THE FUEL. AM TO SUPPOSE TO ADD AN ADDITIVE TO FUEL OCCASIONALLY. I have experienced two engine failures in my 2005 Ford Mustang due to timing chain issues, specifically the failure of the timing chain cassette, guides, and tensioners in the 4.0L SOHC V6 engine. The first failure happened suddenly with no warning, resulting in severe bottom-end damage, including rod knock. The timing chain cassette ends tend to snap off, sending debris through the engine and damaging lifters, camshafts, and other critical components. The second failure was preceded by an audible “death rattle,” a known symptom of timing chain guide and tensioner failure. Despite this, my vehicle never displayed a check engine light or oil pressure warning before either failure. Unlike later Mustangs with an oil pressure gauge, mine only has a warning light, which never activated.This issue poses a major safety risk, especially at highway speeds. My first engine failure occurred with no prior symptoms, which could have led to an accident had I been merging or overtaking. A failing timing chain can cause misfires, loss of power, or sudden engine shutdown, endangering the driver and others on the road. Independent mechanics have confirmed this issue, and Ford service centers recognize it as a common problem with the 4.0L SOHC V6 engine. Ford has quoted $3,000–$4,000 for timing chain service, making repairs nearly as expensive as engine replacement. These engines rely on multiple chains and hydraulic tensioners that wear out over time, causing slack in the timing chain, jumped timing, and catastrophic damage, typically after 100,000 miles. Despite this, there are no clear warning systems to alert drivers before failure occurs. While timing chains are considered serviceable components, the high failure rate of the timing chain guides and tensioners in these engines, combined with excessive repair costs, indicates a design flaw. I have spent around $4,500 addressing this issue, yet the risk of recurrence remains.

THE DAY AFTER GETTING MY OIL CHANGED (WHICH HAS BEEN DONE ROUTINELY THROUGH OUT THE LIFE OF MY CAR) ON MY WAY TO WORK THE FOLLOWING MORNING MY CAR BEGAN TO SLIP ERRATICALLY OUT OF GEAR, IT DROPPED INTO NEUTRAL WHEN GOING FROM A COMPLETE STOP (I NARROWLY AVOIDED GETTING HIT TURNING LEFT ACROSS TRAFFIC) AND THEN SLIPPED INTO REVERSE AT A STOP LIGHT, WHICH I DID NOT DISCOVER UNTIL I HIT THE GAS AND NEARLY SLAMMED INTO THE CAR BEHIND ME AT THE LIGHT. WHEN I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP I HAD THE CAR INVESTIGATED BY A THIRD PARTY TO ENSURE THAT JIFFY LUBE WAS NOT AT FAULT FOR THE DAMAGE DONE TO MY TRANSMISSION WHEN THEY CHANGED THE OIL IN THE CAR. THE REPORT CAME BACK STATING THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS EXPERIENCING CATASTROPHIC FAILURE DUE TO UNEVEN WEARING ON THE INSIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION FROM THE SERVO BARS. I WAS INFORMED THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION THAT IS IN MY CAR AND I WAS FORCED TO BUY A COMPLETELY NEW TRANSMISSION FOR $4600, OTHERWISE MY 10 YEAR OLD GENTLY DRIVEN WELL TAKEN CARE OF CAR WITH LESS THAN 65,000 MILES ON IT THAT IS IN NEAR MINT CONDITION WOULD HAVE BEEN BASICALLY SCRAP. I GOT THE CAR @42,500 OR SO MILES. THERE WAS A BAD PUDDLE OF WATER AFTER IT RAINED. NEAR THE SMART JUNCTION BOX IS WHERE IT APPEARS TO BE GETTING IN. I HAVE READ ALOT OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS ISSUE. FOR SURE A DEFECT THAT FORD SHOULD FIX... AS ANOTHER PERSON ON THIS SITE MENTIONED, I AM SURE THAT MAJOR ELECTRICAL DAMAGE COULD POTENTIALLY TAKE PLACE (I FORCED MYSELF TO COVER THE CAR AT ALL TIMES). THE GAS TANK IS DIFFICULT TO FILL UP ALL THE WAY. I CANNOT SIMPLY PULL THE GAS PUMP "TRIGGER" AND LOCK IT. THE PUMP STOPS, DUE TO THE TRIGGER BEING "TRIPPED" (AS IF THE TANK WAS FULL). TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE BECAME INOPERABLE WITH NO SYMPTOMS OF THE ENGINE OVER HEATING. A CERTIFIED MECHANIC REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT AND TEMPERATURE GAUGE. THE FAILURE PERSISTED AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. IN ADDITION, AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WHERE A TROUBLE CODE WAS NOT DETECTED. RECENTLY THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED TO OPERATE. THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ON MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG HAS A SHORTAGE OR IS DEFECTIVE. BASED ON INTERNET RESEARCH AND A DISCUSSION WITH AN AUTHORIZED FORD DEALERSHIP AND MY LONG TIME AUTO MECHANIC, THIS IS A PART THAT SHOULD NOT FAIL AT 73,000 MILES. WHILE FORD HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL, THERE IS AN OBVIOUS MANUFACTURE DEFECT, AS THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND ISSUES REPORTED. WHEN A GAUGE (FUEL, TEMPERATURE, BATTERY, ETC) FAILS ON THIS VEHICLE, THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MUST BE REPLACED. THIS IS A COSTLY PART AND SERVICE FEE (OVER $900) FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT BE DEFECTIVE OR HAVE ISSUES WITH A CAR OF THIS AGE. WHEN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SIGNALS AN ISSUE TO THE INTERNAL COMPUTER, THE VEHICLE MAY GO INTO A "FAIL SAFE MODE" AND THE CAR WILL NOT OPERATE. I AM THE OWNER OF A 2005 FORD MUSTANG WITH A STANDARD TRANSMISSION. THIS MORNING (WITH OVERNIGHT TEMPERATURES IN THE 20S) AS I STARTED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY TO GO TO WORK, MY CAR STALLED. I RESTARTED THE CAR AND TRIED ONE MORE TO MOVE FORWARD. THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN. ON THE THIRD ATTEMPT, I WAS APPLIED MORE FUEL TO GET THE CAR MOVING, BUT MY BACK WHEELS WERE VERY HESITANT (AS IF THE BRAKES WERE LOCKED UP). I DROVE THE CAR SEVERAL BLOCKS TO MY REPAIR FACILITY. WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE CAR, I COULD SMELL THAT THE BRAKES HAD GOTTEN HOT. MY SERVICE ASSOCIATE TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE GARAGE AND PUT IT ON THE LIFT TO INSPECT. HE STATED THAT THE BRAKES HAD SEIZED (UNKNOWN REASON AT THIS TIME). UPON REMOVAL OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE WHEEL THE PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THERE WAS, MOST LIKELY, SOME MOISTURE IN THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LINE AND THAT DURING THE SHORT TIME THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE HEATED GARAGE THE LINE HAD UNFROZEN (MELTED). HE SUGGESTED THAT I NOT USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE FOR PARKING IN SUBFREEZING TEMPS. HE ALSO STATED THAT FORD IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND THAT I SHOULD CONTACT FORD FOR FINAL RESOLUTION. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHO READ A BULLETIN CONFIRMING THAT FORD IS, IN FACT, AWARE OF THIS DEFECT IN THE ORIGINAL EMERGENCY BRAKE CABLE / BOOT. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN WENT ON TO SAY THAT FORD HAS AN IMPROVED PART AND THAT THE BOOT AND CABLE LINING HAVE NEW FEATURES TO RESOLVE THE DEFECT. I THEN CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO ALSO ACKNOWLEDGED THAT FORD IS AWARE OF THIS DEFECT, BUT AT THIS TIME THERE IS NO RECALL AND THAT FORD'S CURRENT POLICY DISALLOWS REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE STATED DEFECT. FAILURE OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH TO MYSELF, PASSENGERS AND ANYONE WHO MIGHT BE IN THE VICINITY DURING A FAILURE WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM. RIGHT BRAKE STICKS CAUSING ROTORS AND PADS TO HEAT UP AND CATCH ON FIRE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE PADS AND ROTORS AND I HAD TO PAY FOR IT. THE PROBLEM STILL THERE. I HAVE ALSO READ FORUMS ONLINE WHERE OTHER OWNERS HAVE HAD THE BRAKE CATCH FIRE DUE TO IT CATCHING. THE MECHANIC AT THE DEALER ADMITTED THAT THE CALIPER WAS NOT WORKING RIGHT, BUT DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE IT. THE 2005 MUSTANG WINDSHIELD GLASS SEEMS TO BE MUCH "SOFTER" THAN OTHERS ON THE MARKET. WITH ONLY A FEW THOUSAND MILES ON THE CAR I STARTED NOTICING QUITE A FEW VERY SMALL (PIN SIZE) CHIPS IN THE GLASS. NOW AFTER 17K MILES THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF THESE LITTLE CHIPS. THIS WINDSHIELD LOOKS WORSE THAN MY OLD PICKUP THAT HAD OVER 250K MILES. I HAVE SPOKEN TO SEVERAL OTHER 05 OWNERS IN THE FORUMS AND HAVE FOUND THAT THEY TOO ARE EXPERIENCING SOMETHING SIMILAR TO THIS ISSUE WITH THEIR VEHICLE. AT FIRST I WAS NOT ABLE TO READ MY RPM'S GAUGE AS IT WAS SHOWING I WAS IDLING AT 3,000 WHICH WAS INCORRECT AS I CAN HEAR MY ENGINE. THEN MY OIL GAUGE BEGAN READING PAST FULL. BOTH OF THOSE ISSUES FIXED THEMSELVES (UNSURE OF HOW OR WHY) AND THEN MY SPEEDOMETER GAUGE WENT BAD. NOW THE NEEDLE IS POINTING STRAIGHT DOWN REGARDLESS OF HOW FAST OR SLOW I AM GOING. THIS IS A DANGER TO MYSELF ON THE ROAD AS I CANNOT GAUGE MY SPEED. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT OTHERS WITH THE SAME MODEL AND YEAR OF MY CAR ARE EXPERIENCING AND SHOULD BE FIXED WITH A RECALL.

THE SPEEDOMETER BEGAN TO ACT ERRATICALLY BEFORE CEASING TO WORK ALTOGETHER. I TOOK THE CAR TO FAIRWAY FORD (PLACENTIA, CA) AND REPORTED THE PROBLEM. THE SERVICE WRITER DISMISSED ME BY SAYING THE REPAIR WAS TOO COSTLY AND THAT THERE WAS NO KNOWN UNIVERSAL PROBLEM WITH THE 2005 V6 FORD MUSTANG. I HAVE A COLLEAGUE WITH THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL WHO HAS THE SAME PROBLEM.

AT FIRST THE BACK UP LIGHTS WOULD FLASH ON THEN GO OFF WHEN VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN REVERSE AND STAY OFF EVEN WHILE STILL IN REVERSE. THE TACH WOULD SHOW YOU DOING ABOUT 800 RPM'S NO MATTER THE SPEED AND WHEN I BACKED IT IN THE GARAGE AFTER RETURNING FROM FORD, THE TACH SHOWED 9000 RPM WHILE IN PARK AND KEY OFF. VEHICLE STUDDERS WHEN DRIVING LIKE ITS STARVING FOR FUEL, FORD TOLD ME ALL OF THIS IS RELATED TO THE SJB. THEY SAY IT'S CORRODED FROM COFFEE OR SOME FLUID GETTING ON IT. I HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT THEY WONT CALL IT IN BECAUSE THE TEXT SAID IT WAS COFFEE BUT WOULD NOT SAY HOW THE COFFEE GOT UP BEHIND THE KICK PANEL (PASS SIDE) UNDER DASH AREA. I HAVE A 2005 FORD MUSTANG, 4.0 AND ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO THE CLUSTER STARTED GIVING ME PROBLEMS, FIRST THE TEMP AND FUEL GAUGES STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER. THEN MY TACHOMETER AND SPEED STARTED ACTING VERY ERRATIC, SHOWING THAT MY TACHOMETER WAS RUNNING ABOVE WHAT IT SHOULD AS WELL MY SPEEDOMETER ARE GOING CRAZY. I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 55MPH AND HEARD A BEEP, LOOKED IN THE DASH AND SAW THE ENGINE WENT INTO A "FAIL SAFE MODE". THE CAR SLOWED DOWN AND JERKED AND SLOWED DOWN QUITE A BIT. WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND COULD'NT FIND ANYTHING WRONG W/ IT. IT STARTED HAPPENING MORE OFTEN, SO FINALLY FOUND A MECHANIC THAT WAS ABLE TO DIAGNOSE AND FIX THE PROBLEM FOR $800. I SAW IN THE PAPER THAT A FEW TOYOTAS HAD THIS PROBLEM AND WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW IT HAPPENED ON A NEW FORD MUSTANG AS WELL. ALSO, WHENEVER IT RAINS, (THE SAME CAR) LEAKS WATER INTO AND PUDDLES UP UNDER THE PASSENGER'S SEAT. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FROM THE BEGINNING OF PURCHASE. MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG V6 HAS BEEN HAVING SPEEDOMETER MALFUNCTIONS WEEKLY. THESE MALFUNCTIONS CAUSE THE SPEEDOMETER TO START AT NUMBERS THAT ARE NOT 0, RESULTING IN AN INACCURATE READING OF MY SPEED. IT READ 120 WHILE I MAY ONLY BE GOING 40 AND EVEN WHEN I SHUT DOWN THE VEHICLE IT WILL REMAIN AT 40+. A TEMPORARY FIX IS TO TURN THE VEHICLE ON AND OFF WHICH SOMETIMES CAUSES THE NEEDLES TO SLOWLY DROP, BUT USUALLY IT WILL STAY OVER 20 FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME, AND WHEN I DO SUCCEED IN REACHING 0 WITHIN A WEEK OR TWO THE PROBLEM WILL OCCUR AGAIN. I HAVE HAD REPEATED PROBLEMS WITH MY CD PLAYER (SHAKKER 500) I HAVE HAD SIX STEREOS IN THE CAR AND ALL SIX HAVE DONE THE SAME THING. THEY WILL MAKE HORRIBLE NOISES, SAY BAD DISK OR DISK ERROR OR NOTHING AT ALL BEFORE IT STARTS SPITTING OUT THE CD'S. IF I DO NOT GRAB THE FIRST CD, IT WILL SPIT OUT ALL SIX. I HAVE HAD AN INDEPENDENT INSPECTION OF THE CAR TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM BECAUSE I DO NOT FEEL IT IS THE STEREO. THE INSPECTION STATES THAT THE VOLTAGE IS DROPPING IN THE CAR WHICH SENDS THE STEREO INTO AN ERRATIC STATE. SINCE ABOUT A YEAR AGO, NOVEMBER 2013, THIS VEHICLE HAS SHOWN MULTIPLE ISSUES. TO START, IT IS AN AUTOMATIC 05 MUSTANG WHICH, THE MORE I READ ONLINE, THE MORE THAT I SEEM TO FIND THAT MANY HAVE THESE EXACT SAME OR VERY SIMILAR ISSUES. INITIALLY THE DASH CLUSTER (EVERYTHING BESIDES THE TACHOMETER) WAS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD GET STUCK AT 20 MPH BUT STILL MOVE ACTING AS THOUGH THE 20 MPH WAS THE 0 MPH MARK (SO 35 MPH = 15 MPH). MORE RECENTLY THE GAS GAUGE HAS STOPPED WORKING, IT SITS AT EMPTY EVEN AFTER PLENTY OF GAS HAS BEEN PUT INTO IT. THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE ALSO GETS STUCK OFTEN, STILL MOVING AS THE SPEEDOMETER DOES. NOT TOO LONG AFTER THESE ISSUES STARTED OCCURRING, WHEN I WENT TO FILL UP THE GAS TANK IT WOULDN'T TAKE THE GAS AS IT NORMALLY WOULD. SOMETIMES ONLY A COUPLE DOLLARS WORTH WOULD BE IN BEFORE IT CLICKED OFF. AFTER PAYING CLOSER ATTENTION I HAVE ALSO NOTICED SOMETIMES GAS ACTUALLY SPLASHES OUT WHEN FILLING IT UP EVEN THOUGH IT IS DEFINITELY NOT FULL. MUCH MORE RECENTLY THE VEHICLE HAS WORRYING ISSUES. AT ONE POINT WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 70 MPH THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STARTED TO DECELERATE ON ITS OWN, EVEN WHILE I WAS PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL. I PULLED IT OFF TO THE SIDE, SHUT IT OFF COMPLETELY, STARTED IT UP AND IT WAS AS THOUGH NOTHING HAPPENED. EVER SINCE THAT INCIDENT THOUGH IT HAS BEEN RUNNING A BIT LOUDER AND NOW IT SEEMS A POSSIBLE MISFIRE IS HAPPENING WITH ONE OF THE CYLINDERS OCCASIONALLY. THIS HAS BEEN AND STILL IS A ON GOING SAFETY ISSUE TO ME AND THE FAMILY. WHEN DRIVING, NORMALLY AT A LOW SPEED THE ENGINE WILL "DIE", OF COURSE I LOSE ALL POWER TO THE STEERING, BRAKING, ETC. I MAKE AN ATTEMPT TO START IT, IT WILL START BUT, WHEN I TRY TO MOVE THE VEHICLE, IT DIES AGAIN. WE WENT SHOPPING AND CAME BACK OUT AND IT STARTED AND GAVE ME NO PROBLEM GETTING HOME. I HAVE HAD IT IN THE SHOP, R&R FUEL TANK, REPLACED FUEL LEVEL SENSOR. WAS TOLD BY ONE OF THE TECHNICIANS I SHOULD TREAT THE FUEL AT LEASE EVERY TWO TANK FILL UPS. MY CONCERN IS THAT THIS IS GOING TO OCCUR AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND INJURY MY FAMILY AND/OR OTHER DRIVERS. I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT AT AROUND 30MPH WHEN EVERYTHING ELECTRICAL WENT DEAD IN MY CAR INCLUDING HEADLIGHTS AND DASHBOARD BUT THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR HOME BUT COULD NOT START IT THE NEXT MORNING. HAD TO FLAT BED IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY TOLD ME THE WHOLE COMPUTER SYSTEM FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT THE SPEED LIMIT WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR IMMEDIATELY STALLED. I HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND PUT MY HAZARDS ON SO I DIDN'T GET HIT FROM BEHIND OR CAUSE A DANGEROUS ACCIDENT TO THE OTHER MOTORISTS. I TURNED OFF THE CAR, LEFT THE HAZARDS ON AND WAITED A FEW MINUTES BEFORE STARTING IT UP AGAIN. IT STARTED THANKFULLY AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO A PARKING LOT SAFELY TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. MY SPEEDOMETER WAS READING A LOWER SPEED THAN I WAS ACTUALLY DRIVING. IT WAS CONFIRMED WITH A SPEED RADAR SIGN. MY SPEEDOMETER GAUGE WAS OFF BY 15 MPH. THE CAR WAS INVOLVED IN A ONE VEHICLE ACCIDENT HITTING A GUARD RAIL ON AN INTERSTATE AT 60 MPH. IT WAS PRETTY MUCH A HEAD ON COLLISION. DURING THIS TIME THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED OR THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT CAUGHT. THE PASSENGER WAS BOUNCED ALL AROUND THE CAR. THE PASSENGERS OF THE CAR WERE LOOKING STRAIGHT DOWN AT THE ROAD WHEN THE CAR WAS SPINNING ON THE NOSE. NOW, BY GOD'S GRACE ONLY, THESE PASSENGERS WERE NOT EXTREMELY INJURED AND WAS IT A FATAL IMPACT. HOWEVER, IF THE SAFETY FEATURES OF THE CAR WORKED PROPERLY, LESS INJURY WOULD HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCED. DESIGN OF THE CABIN AIR INTAKE BOX AND DRAIN LED TO A BACK FLOW OF WATER DURING A HEAVY DOWNPOUR. THIS LED TO WATER FLOWING THROUGH THE AIR DUCTS AND INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT BEHIND THE GLOVE BOX. FORD PLACED 4"X6" PIECE OF FOAM OVER THE SMART JUNCTION BOX IN AN EFFORT TO "BANDAGE THE PROBLEM, RATHER THAN CORRECTING THE CAUSE. THE CAR'S INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SUDDENLY COMPLETELY MALFUNCTIONED, THE "FAIL-SAFE" ENGINE SYSTEM LIGHT CAME ON, CAUSING THE ENGINE TO SHUT DOWN AND TO SUDDENLY STOP THE CAR IN MOVING TRAFFIC. Body control module. It gets wet when it rains because of an engineering mess up. It shorts out my lights. Sometimes it can't get out of car because it messes with the locks and windows. Can't use my electric mirrors anymore. Instead of being a much needed recall they decided to not even make replacement bcm. It is a problem everything it gets wet that should have been recalled and fixed. At least a thousand other incidents of this happening to others.

AFTER HEAVY RAIN FOR A COUPLE WEEKS. I WAS DRIVING STRAIT, IN THE RAIN ON A CITY STREET. I NOTICED MY RADIO TURNED OFF. THEN ALSO NOTICED MY HEADLIGHTS AND BLINKERS WERE ALSO NOT WORKING. AFTER REACHING MY DESTINATION BEFORE IT GOT TOO DARK I STOPPED AND TESTED ALL LIGHTS INCLUDING BRAKE LIGHTS. ALL OF THE EXTERIOR LIGHTS WEREN'T WORKING, THE GAS LIGHT CAME ON (ALTHOUGH I HAD ATLEAST A HALF TANK) TCS LIGHT AND ALSO THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT WERE ON IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. AFTER PARKING THE MUSTANG IN THE GARAGE FOR A COUPLE WEEKS UNTIL I HAD TIME TO CHECK THE STATUS OF THE CAR. I NOTICED THE FLOOR OF THE CAB (PASSENGER SIDE) WAS DAMP. THE CAR BATTERY WAS DEAD (LESS THAN A YEAR OLD, RED TOP OPTIMA) AND THERE WAS MOLD ACTUALLY GROWING IN PARTS OF THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR. I DID SOME RESEARCH REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND FOUND IT COMMON FROM A FAILED PLUG UNDER THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS NEXT TO THE A/C FILTER. CAUSING THE WATER TO FILL UP BETWEEN THE FIREWALL AND THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, AND ULTIMATELY LEAKING INSIDE THE CAB ONTO THE SJB (SMART JUNCTION BOX) LOCATED DIRECTLY BEHIND THE FIREWALL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I AM VERY CONCERNED FOR THIS SAFETY ISSUE FOR IT CAN CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF ELECTRONICS FAIL WHILE DRIVING AND ALSO THE FACT THAT THERE IS MOLD GROWING IN MY CAR FROM THIS ISSUE. WHILE STATIONARY TRYING TO PUMP GAS IN TO THE GAS TANK THE GAS PUMP WILL SHUT OFF AFTER PUMPING NO ORE THAN 1/16 OF A TANK THEN REQUIRING YOU TO DRIBBLE GAS IN TO THE TANK WITH THE PUMP REGULARLY SHUTTING OFF EVERY FEW SECONDS AND NEVER FILLING THE TANK WITH OUT THE PUMP SHUTTING OFF COMPLETELY, AND THIS HAPPENS AT ALL PUMPS IN EVERY STATE AND EVERY BRAND OF GAS. ONCE YOU PUMP AS MUCH GAS AS THE PUMP WILL ALLOW YOU HAVE TO HOLD TE THROTTLE PEDAL DOWN TO THE FLOOR TO GET THE CAR TO START AND THEN YOU HAVE TO FEATHER THE PEDAL TO KEEP THE ENGINE RUNNING WHICH CAUSES THE ENGINE TO RACE AND IS VERY DANGEROUS.

I PURCHASED MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG V6 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IN JULY OF 2016. ON SEPTEMBER 1, 2010, THE GAS GAUGE ON THE VEHICLE FAILED - READING MORE THAN FULL, AND OTHER VARIOUS IRREGULAR READINGS. REPAIRED FOR $75, THEN FAILED AGAIN NEXT DAY. HAVE NOT REPAIRED AGAIN AS DEALER ESTIMATES COST AT $1500 DUE TO MULTIPLE FAILURES ACCORDING TO THEIR TESTS. GAS LIGHT STILL WORKS WHEN FUEL IS VERY LOW. ON NOVEMBER 1, 2010, THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED - READING 80 MPH WHEN VEHICLE IS STOPPED. HAVE NOT REPAIRED, USING GPS TO ESTIMATE SPEED. I CONTACTED FORD ABOUT THESE ISSUES AS THEY SEEM VERY COMMON WITH THIS MODEL & YEAR VEHICLE BY A QUICK SEARCH ONLINE. THEY ADVISED THAT I SHOULD JUST GET IT FIXED AT THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP. I WOULD THINK THAT KNOWING HOW MUCH GAS YOU HAVE OR KNOWING HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING ARE VALID SAFETY ISSUES THAT FORD SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO FIX AT THEIR EXPENSE.

TL*THE CONTACT WAS A WITNESS TO THE FAILURE IN A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE LIFTING THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT SIDE LATCHES, WHICH OPERATE THE MOVEMENT OF THE SEAT TO THE BACK SEAT, THE LATCH SHATTERED INTO SEVERAL PIECES. THE OWNER WAS UNABLE TO ACCESS THE BACK SEAT DUE TO THIS FAILURE. THERE WAS NO WARNING PRIOR TO THIS FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WATER HAD LEAKED ONTO THE VEHICLE'S CARPET CAUSING A MOLDY SMELL. THIS HAPPENED MORE FREQUENTLY ON A RAINY DAY AND WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. 2005 FORD MUSTANG ACCELERATES ON ITS OWN. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE VEHICLE WILL ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN. HE STATES THAT THE RPM'S WOULD BE UP TO 1500. HE STATES THAT SINCE THEN, NOW IT ACCELERATES UP TO 2500 RPM'S. *KB A FLIGHT RECORDER WAS INSTALLED IN THE VEHICLE. THE FLIGHT RECORDER CAPTURED THE PROBLEM THE CONSUMER WAS REFERRING TO. THE FLIGHT RECORDER WAS THEN SENT TO FORD ENGINEERING AND THEY STATED THE COMPUTER WAS DEMANDING THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THE TRANSMISSION DID NOT SHIFT SMOOTHLY. PROBLEN 1: WHEN SLOWING TO A STOP, MAYBE 5 MPH OR SO, THEN PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE, THE ENGINE RPM'S INCREASE AS IF THE TRANSMISSION IS IN NEUTRAL, THEN JUMPS INTO GEAR CAUSING A SUDDEN JERK FORWARD. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED AND CONFIRMED BY FORD DEALERSHIP. PROBLEM 2: STARTED VEHICLE, WITH FOOT ON BRAKE PUT IN REVERSE AND HEARD A STRANGE NOISE AND BLUE SMOKE OUTSIDE PASSENGER WINDOW. THE RIGHT REAR TIRE WAS "BURNING RUBBER" PULLED SHIFT LEAVER BACK TO NUETRAL AND ENGINE RPM NORMAL. POSSIBLY RELATED TO THE PROBLEM ABOVE OR I COULD AHAVE HAD MY FOOR ON BRAKE AND GAS PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME BUT CAN NOT THAT EASILY.

PURCHASED A 2005 FORD MUSTANG IN MAY, 2005. FORD FAILED TO NOTIFY COSTUMERS THAT SOME OF THE 2005 FORD MUSTANGS MAY EXHIBIT THE FUEL BANK BEING SLOW OR DIFFICULT TO FILL. BASICALLY, THE FUEL PUMP WILL SHUT OFF WHILE PUMPING GAS, AS IF THE TANK WAS FULL. FORD DID ISSUE A SERVICE BULLETIN, TSB 05-4-8, AFTER I PURCHASING THE CAR, SUGGESTING THAT FORD'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT WILL REPLACE THE GAS TANK. THE BULLETIN STATED THAT THE CONDITION MAY BE DUE TO THE FUEL TANK VAPOR VENTING SYSTEM INSIDE THE FUEL TANK. ALTHOUGH THE GAS TANK WAS REPLACED THE PROBLEM REMAINED. FORD DID NOT CONSIDER THIS A DEFECT, BUT RATHER A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE NEW MODEL OF FORD MUSTANGS. AS A RESULT, I COULD NOT TAKE THE CAR ON EXTENDED TRIPS BECAUSE I WAS NOT SURE THAT I WILL BE ABLE TO FIND A PUMP THAT WILL ALLOW GAS INTO THE CAR. I HAVE A 2005 MUSTANG. IT HAD FUEL FILLING PROBLEMS SINCE I GOT IT. THE PUMP WOULD CLICK OFF CONTINUOUSLY MAKING IT VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FILL. AT TIMES, IT WOULD EVEN ALLOW THE GASOLINE TO SPEW OUT OF THE VEHICLE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY ALREADY HAD A BULLETIN FROM FORD INDICATING THE PROBLEM AND THAT THE TANK SHOULD BE REPLACED. RECENTLY, I HAVE BEEN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN WITH THE NEW FUEL TANK. I DON'T FILL UP THAT OFTEN, BECAUSE I WORK FROM HOME AND RARELY DRIVE THE CAR. AGAIN, DIFFICULT TO FILL AND FUEL SPEWING OUT OF THE CAR ONTO THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE GROUND. I KNOW FROM READING ONLINE THAT HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF OTHER MUSTANGS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE TICKET IT IS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THAT VEHICLE TO SPEW FUEL OUT OF THE SIDE OF THE CAR WHEN YOU ARE ATTEMPTING TO FILL IT UP. The contact owns a 2005 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that during inclement weather, water was entering the cabin of the vehicle through the passenger’s side glove box. The contact stated that due to the failure, mold had developed throughout the vehicle on the carpet, doors, and interior seats. The contact's husband also discovered that water had entered the computer module after inspecting the vehicle and the module was removed. The contact stated that the vehicle was inoperable after several repairs and several battery replacements. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called the dealer and was referred to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 87,000.

Ford did issue a recall for several issues for my car, including but not limited to, problems when filling gas tank with evaporative purge system as well as cavitation of the fuel pump in high heat conditions, the doors not closing all the way or handles remaining open( not flush with rest of door) when door is shut, driver's side door trim/bezel around power window switch making buzzing sounds when stereo is in use, as well as ticking sounds coming from motor during operation and various creaks and sounds from front suspension when cornering and going over uneven terrain, and the transmission, the 5r55s, has the known hard shift into gear caused by bad servo. I have reached out to the dealers in my area regarding these issues and even though my car is the correct model and year for the service recall bulletins and has the exact issues described there in, I am told that the vin on my car is not covered even though it is clearly suffering from equipment that exhibits all the same problems listed in the recall. I feel the responsibility to perform and pay for these repairs should fall on the manufacturer, not i, the customer.

The contact owns a 2005 Ford Mustang GT. The contact stated the front passenger’s side seat belt was difficult to latch and detach. The contact stated that several times the seat belt failed to detach. The seat belt warning light was illuminated stating that the seat belt was not engaged when it was engaged. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who stated that the pin was not attached to the clip causing the seat belt malfunction. The mechanic fractured the seat belt so the contact could drive the vehicle. The seat belt was not repaired. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer, but the vehicle was not repaired due to the warranty being expired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.

I have done all my airbag recalls and the light came on a few months ago and is steady flashing. Called Cresent Ford in High Pint and they looked up my VIN and my car replacement history. They told me it had been replaced but it was still under warranty and to make an appointment to have it looked at. Made an appointment, which I may add I had to take the day off and drive 40 mins one way, I was told by [XXX] that I had to pay for a diagnostic test because it may not be the airbag and they refused to look at the car until I paid for a diagnostic test. I continue to receive airbag notices and if I was told on the phone this was under warranty. If there are problems in the past with airbags and in the future, we have problems why should this not be covered and looked at by Ford at cost to them to run a diagnostic test. This is absurd. Had this happened to me 3 months ago I NEVER would not have purchased a 2010 Mustang if this is how you do your customers for your defective parts. Also went to pull the parking brake up, which was passed inspection SEVERAL times, and the brake does not work. This is a BIG safety hazard. AFTER WE HAD THE FIRST AIRBAG RECALL REPLACED WE STARTED TO EXPERIENCE THE FLICKER 9F THE AIRBAG LIGHT. WE ASSUMED THIS WAS DUE TO THE NECESSITY OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG NEEDING TO BE RECALLED. OUR SERVICE TECHNICIAN DOESN'T AGREE. THEY SAY THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NEEDS REPLACING. THE ONLY INFORMATION I CAN FIND ON THAT IS THAT ALL OTHER GAUGES FAIL IF THE CLUSTER NEEDS REPLACING. THAT IS WHY I FEEL THAT THE LIGHT IS ON DIRECTLY BECAUSE OF THE AIRBAG RECALL.

NONE OF THE GAUGES WORK. I HAVE TO DRIVE PACING MYSELF WITH OTHER VEHICLES. ONLY THE ICON FOR GAS NEEDED COMES ON WHEN THE GAS IS LOW. STARTING AFTER ABOUT 10,000 MILES ON THE CAR I HAVE HAD INCREASING PROBLEMS GETTING FUEL IN THE CAR. NOT JUST MYSELF, BUT ANYONE THAT TRIES TO FUEL THE CAR. I INITIALLY STARTED HOLDING THE FUEL NOZZLE UPSIDE DOWN TO GET GAS AND THAT WORKED FOR A FEW YEARS. (ALTHOUGH YOU LOOK LIKE A DUMB ASS THAT DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO PUT GAS IN A CAR!) THIS LAST YEAR IT HAS GOTTEN SO BAD THAT I AM LUCKY TO GET 2 GALLONS IN IT, AND THAT IS WITH IT REPEATEDLY SHUTTING OFF. SINCE DAY ONE THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL MAKES A GRINDING/CLUNKING NOISE WHEN I TURN THE TIRE IN EITHER DIRECTION. IT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE THE WHEEL WILL FALL OFF. MY CARS BODY ASSEMBLY IS ALSO CRAP. SINCE THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH ALMOST EVERY ONE MADE DURING THAT YEAR, YOU WOULD BELIEVE THAT FORD WOULD NOT WANT TO TARNISH THEIR NAME BY NOT ISSUING A RECALL. AT LOOKING ONLINE THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE SAME VEHICLE SAME PROBLEM. I CALLED GENE MESSER FORD AND THEY SAID IT WOULD COST $99 JUST TO DIAGNOSE PROBLEM. APPARENTLY THE GAS IS POOLING WHERE THE END OF THE PUMP RELEASES THE GAS, THERE IS A SHARP SLIGHTLY UPHILL RIGHT ANGLE FOR THE GAS TO TRAVEL AND THERE IS NOT ENOUGH ROOM TO FOR IT TO MOVE THROUGH LIKE OTHER CARS. THE GAS FLOAT STOPPED WORKING AS WELL, THE GAS NEEDLE IS BURIED ON THE FAR RIGHT SIDE OF THE GUAGE INSIDE THE CAR, IT IS WORTHLESS, I BELIEVE THESE ARE RELATED BECAUSE THEY HAPPENED RIGHT AROUND THE SAME TIME.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 50-55 MPH IN RAINY WEATHER CONDITIONS AT NIGHT, THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND EXTERIOR LIGHTING FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR AREA AND FUSE PANEL EXHIBITED WATER LEAKAGE. THERE WAS EXTREMELY POOR NIGHT VISIBILITY DUE TO THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT HEARD A CLICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL BEFORE IT AND THE EXTERIOR LIGHTING RESUMED OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, BUT A DIAGNOSTIC WAS NOT PERFORMED DUE TO THE COST. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ACCEPTED BY THE SYSTEM. I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2005 MODEL MUSTANG GT FROM JIM SKINNER HONDA IN DOTHAN ALABAMA. THE VEHICLE HAS A SIGNIFICANT WATER LEAK INTO THE PASSENGER FLOORBOARD AND INTO THE SMART JUNCTION BOX AREA. THE WATER PENETRATES INTO THE WIRING HARNESSES AND BOX ITSELF. BEING THAT MOST OPERATIONS ON THIS VEHICLE ARE ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED IT IS MY OPINION (MECHANIC) THAT WATER INTRUSION INTO THIS AREA COULD CAUSE AN ENGINE FAILURE AND HAS CAUSED LIGHTING MALFUNCTIONS ON THE TAILLIGHTS OF THE VEHICLE. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH IN THE RAIN AND SHIFTING FROM 3RD TO 4TH GEAR, THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HYDROPLANE. THE CONTACT LET UP OFF THE GAS, AND STEERED INTO THE SKID. THE STEERING DID NOTHING. THE VEHICLE SPUN 180 DEGREES, WHICH FORCED THE CONTACT TO ATTEMPT TO TURN THE VEHICLE IN A COMPLETE CIRCLE. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS APPLIED TO ATTEMPT TO RECOVER, HOWEVER THE TRACTION CONTROL PREVENTED THE CONTACT FROM CORRECTING THE SKID. THE VEHICLE WENT OVER AN EMBANKMENT AND BECAME LODGED IN ROADSIDE MUD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED.

I STARTED TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE HANDLING OF MY 2005 MUSTANG GT WHEN I WOULD DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD. IT WOULD SWERVE IN THE OTHER LANES AND IT WOULD HIT THE ROAD BUMPS AND HOLES LIKE A "GO KART" WOULD. I NOTICED SINCE I PUT ON MY 245/45/17 B.F.GOODRICH TIRES THAT I STARTED HAVING ALL THESE PROBLEMS. I ASKED THE FORD PLACE WHAT I NEEDED TO DO BECAUSE MY TIRE IN THE INNER PART WAS WEARING OUT AND MY FABRIC HAD STARTED TO SHOW. THE FORD DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT HELP ME AT ALL, ALL THEY WOULD TELL ME IS THAT I SHOULD HAVE NEVER CHANGED THE ORIGINAL TIRES AND WHEELS. ONE WEEK AFTER CAR PURCHASED PAINT FLAKING OFF AND CAR HAS BLUE SMOKE COMING FROM EXHAUST AT START UP. CAR HAS BEEN PAINTED SINCE THEN 3 TIMES AND TO DATE PAINT IS FLAKING OFF AND YOU SHOULD SEE ALL OF THE BUFFING SCRATCHES FROM THE DEALERSHIP(TOWN & COUNTRY FORD/BESSEMER, AL) TRYING TO CORRECT THEIR MISTAKES. I MIGHT ADD THIS IS A ROUSH MUSTANG. CAR HAS BEEN IN 2 TIMES FOR BLUE SMOKE AND SERVICE DEPARTMENT CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM(COMMON STATEMENTS MADE BY FORD'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT). FORD MOTOR COMPANY REFUSES TO EVEN SEND A REPRESENTATIVE OUT TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLE. TO SAY THE LEAST THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS AND WE WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER ONE. PINION GEAR IN REAR END WHINED WHILE TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE DURING WEEKEND TRIP. STOPPED AT FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE A TECHNICIAN ROAD TESTED AND EXAMINED VEHICLE. STATED THAT WE COULD DRIVE AND STILL FINISH WEEKEND TRIP BUT TO CONTACT PURCHASE DEALERSHIP FOR WARRANTY WORK. THAT WAS DONE THE PARTS TOOK 5 WEEKS TO COME IN FOR THE 2005 GT MUSTANG. DT: CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A SMALL AMOUNT OF BRAKE FLUID THAT WAS LEAKING FROM THE CAP ON THE MASTER CYLINDER. THE SERVICE DEALER REPLACED THE CAP ON THE MASTER CYLINDER TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. THIS DID NOT STOP THE BRAKE FLUID FROM LEAKING. THE CONCERN WAS THAT THE BRAKE FLUID WAS LEAKING ONTO THE STRUCTURE OF THE VEHICLE. OVER TIME, THIS MAY CAUSE EXCESSIVE CORROSION ON THE STRUCTURE OF THE VEHICLE. THE SERVICE ADVISOR STATED THAT THIS WAS NORMAL FOR THIS MODEL. ANOTHER COMPLAINT THE CONTACT STATED T WAS THAT HE POWER DRIVEN SEAT MADE A CREAKING NOISE. THE DEALER WOULD ADJUST THE SEAT TO KEEP IT FROM CREAKING. THE CONCERN WAS THAT IF HE HAS TO ADJUST THE SEAT WHILE DRIVING IT MAY CAUSE THE CONTACT TO BECOME DISTRACTED AND COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.

ALSO REPLACED FRONT UPPER STRUT BEARINGS AND LOWER SLEEVES BRACKETS THAT WHERE DEFECTIVE. EVERYTIME I MADE TURNS IN VEHICLE I HEARD CLICKING NOISES. DT: 2005 FORD MUSTANG GT -HAD AN ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM WHICH RESULTED IN A CRASH. WHILE TURNING OFF OF THE HIGHWAY INTO A RESIDENTIAL AREA THE TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTIONED CAUSING UNCONTROLLABLE ACCELERATION. THE BRAKES WERE APPLIEDBUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. THE FRONT BRAKES DID NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WENT INTO A CLOCK WISE SPIN. THE CAR TURNED ONTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND THEN HIT A TREE. WHAT HAPPENED NEXT WAS THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS STILL ACTING STRANGE, THE TRUNK OPENED AND TRYING TO CLOSE IT BACK DOWN THE LIGHTS CAME OFF AND ON. THE DOOR LOCKS WOULD LOCK AND UNLOCK BY THEMSELVES. THE VEHICLE HAD $6,300 WORTH OF DAMAGE. THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT ASSIST THE CONSUMER WITH ANYTHING. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED ON AUGUST 29, 2005 AS A NEW VEHICLE WHICH ONLY HAD 72 MILES ON IT. UPON IMPACT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE FUEL CUT OFF SWITCH DID NOT ACTIVATE. INITIAL PROBLEMS: 1. PIN STRIP ON DRIVER SIDE WAS PEELING OFF 2. A/C VENT FELL OUT OF CONSOLE 3. CONVERTIBLE TOP GOT STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION. STOPPED BY CLOSEST DEALER BECAUSE I WAS ON VACATION AND WE PULLED THE TOP BACK UP. BROUGHT IT TO A LOCAL DEALER FOR REPAIRS AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE THE ENTIRE CONVERTIBLE TOP FRAME WAS TWISTED. THEY STATED THIS WAS BECAUSE I MOST LIKELY HAD DRIVEN WHILE THE TOP WAS HALF WAY UP/DOWN. AFTER SEVERAL WEEKS FORD ENGINEERS DECIDED TO COVER THE REPAIRS FOR THE TOP. TOOK THE DEALER FIVE WEEKS TO GET ALL PARTS AND REPLACE THE TOP. 4. GAS TANK REPLACED BECAUSE GAS PUMPS WOULD CONSTANTLY CUT OFF WHILE REFUELING. 5. A/C MAKES POPPING NOISE EVERY ONCE IN WHILE. CURRENT ISSUES: 1. NOISE IN FRONT END WHILE TURNING AT SLOW SPEEDS 2. AFTER CAR WARMS TO DRIVING TEMPERATURE, THERE IS A THUMPING NOISE HEARD IN ENGINE, VERY PROMINENT IN INTERIOR 3. DT: CONTACT STATES. THE PINION GEAR (WHICH THE CONSUMER SAYS IS PART OF THE REAR END) IS BAD ON HIS 2005 CONVERTIBLE FORD MUSTANG DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER SAYS THERE IS NO FIX FOR THIS. THE DEALER SAYS THEY CANNOT GET THE PARTS BECAUSE FORD WILL NOT RELINQUISH THE PARTS. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER TELLS HIM THERE IS AN INDEFINITE BACKORDER ON THE PARTS. THE VEHICLE HAS 4500 MILES ON IT. HE ALSO CANNOT PUT THE CONVERTIBLE TOP UP OR DOWN ON THE VEHICLE. THE MOTOR ON THE TOP IS BLOWN UP AND THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER DO NOT HAVE A NEW ONE AND REFUSE TO GIVE HIM THE OLD PUMP BACK. THEY HAVE TOLD HIM THERE IS NO FIX FOR THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. HE CAN ONLY PUT ONE HALF GALLON OF GAS IN THE CAR AT A TIME BECAUSE THE GAS PUMP CLICKS ON/OFF TELLING HIM THE GAS TANK IS FULL. THE DEALER HAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE GAS TANK IS BAD AND HAS ORDERED A NEW GAS TANK THAT WILL BE THERE ON 7-29-05 WHICH IS COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. OTHER WAS SELECTED AS THE COMPONENT FOR THE PINION GEAR BECAUSE THE CONSUMER WAS NOT SURE WHERE THE PINION GEAR WAS LOCATED . *NM
