The contact's son owned a 2007 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while her son was accelerating from a stop, another vehicle had crashed on the driver's side of the vehicle. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact's son was knocked unconscious and taken to the local hospital. The contact's son was treated for a head contusion and bruising to his chest and abdomen. The other driving was taken to the hospital in critical condition; however, his injuries were unknown. A police report was filed at the scene. The vehicle was towed from the scene to an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and they offered no assistance. A dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000

THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG ERRONEOUSLY DEPLOYED CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASH INTO A CONCRETE WALL. THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE WAS THE CONTACTS DAUGHTER. DURING THE INCIDENT, THE DRIVER SUSTAINED AN INJURED RIGHT ARM WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL TREATMENT. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN AT THE SCENE AND THE DESTROYED VEHICLE WAS TOWED AWAY. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER (UNKNOWN) WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.

I HAVE A 2007 FORD MUSTANG WITH 8101.9 MILES. I ONLY DRIVE THIS VEHICLE DURING WARM SEASONS. I NOTICE THIS SPRING THAT MY REAR WIDOWS IS PULLING AWAY FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP.I CALLED A WINDOW REPAIR SHOP FOR WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A SIMPLE REPAIR AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE ENTIRE TOP WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE TOLD ME THAT DUE TO THE CONVERTIBLE TOP SHRINK OVER TIME THAT THE WINDOW PULLS AWAY FROM THE WINDOW. THEY STATED THAT FORDS HAS CORRECT THIS PROBLEM WITH NEAR MODELS THEN MINE TO STOP THIS ISSUE. HE TOLD ME TO REPAIR THIS ISSUE ON MY CAR IT WOULD COST $2000.00. I FIND THAT NOT FAIR THAT I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOE THIS ISSUE SINCE ITS A DEFECT IN THE CONVERTIBLE TOP AND NOT MY FAULT. THIS ISSUE HAPPEN BECAUSE OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF THIS PRODUCT AND NOT MINE. I CONTACTED FORD MOTOR COMPANY ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT HELP ME. SO BY THIS ISSUE DEALS WITH THE REAR WINDOW AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE, I AM REPORTING THIS DEFECT IN THE VEHICLE. The contact indicated that when the accelerator pedal was slightly depressed the vehicle decelerated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the clutch was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that an extended service for the failure was issued but the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was 17,000.

THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT GO INTO OVERDRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY SO I PULLED OVER AND THEN THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE MANUALLY SWITCHED FROM GEAR TO GEAR AND THEN DROVE FINE. THE THE VEHICLE STARTS DOING THE SAME THING AFTER WARMING UP. NOW REVERSE AND 3RD ARE OUT WHEN THE VEHICLE IS WARM. IVE HAD SENSORS BANDS AND OTHER THINGS REPLACED. EVERYTHING SHORT OF A NEW TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACED. NOW I CANT FIND A TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOP THAT WILL REBUILD IT DUE TO SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THESE TRANSMISSIONS THEY DO NOT WANT TO PUT A WARRANTY ON IT. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS PROBLEM. IT NEEDS TO BE A RECALL. SOMETHING IS CLEARLY DEFECTIVE OR LICENSED TECHNICIANS WOULD REPAIR THEM AND WOULDNT CARE TO OFFER A WARRANTY. MY VEHICLE HAS HAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS OFF AND ON SINCE 2017. THIS IS RIDICULOUS THAT ALL THE COMPLAINTS HAVE NOT RESULTED IN A RECALL.

FELT ROUGH HANDLING AND DEALER SAID WAS NORMAL BECAUSE CAR IS A SPORTS CAR. JANUARY 2013 ALL 4 PIRELLI P6 TIRES SIMULTANEOUSLY SPLIT, TORE, AND SIDEWALLS DEVELOPED INSTANTANEOUS RIPS AND ALL TIRES WENT FLAT WITHIN SECONDS CAUSING ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF MY CAR, HIT MY HEAD BEFORE REGAINING CONTROL AND STOPPING CAR. MY LEFT REAR TIRE LOST AIR WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO PUT KEEP AIR IN THE TIRE I REALIZED IT WAS THE VALVE STEM. I WAS DRIVING MY 2007 FORD MUSTANG (V6) ON THE HIGHWAY (RT 202-PA) WHEN THE "LOW TIRE PRESSURE" INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON. I PULLED OFF AT THE FIRST AVAILABLE EXIT (CHESTERBROOK BLVD) AND WHEN I TURNED ONTO THE OVER PASS MY REAR PASSENGER TIRE EXPLODED LEAVING THE RIM COMPLETELY EXPOSED. HAD THE CAR TOWED (POLICE CAME BECAUSE CAR WAS IN DANGEROUS SPOT) AND CHANGED THE TIRE. APPROX 6 HOURS LATER I CHECKED THE PRESSURE IN ALL OF THE TIRES (WAS WITHIN LIMITS) AND SET OFF HOME ON PA TURNPIKE. 2 MILES ON THE TURNPIKE MY DRIVERS FRONT WHEEL WENT COMPLETELY FLAT. HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO MY HOME. ALL THE TIRES STEM VALVES ON MY FACTORY INSTALLED PIRELLI P ZERO NERO TIRES WERE ROTTEN (ALL EXCEPT MY REAR DRIVER WHEEL WHICH WAS REPLACED DUE TO A SEPARATE FLAT APPROX 6 MOTHS PRIOR). PER CONSUMER REPORTS WEBSITE, THE TIRE STEM VALVES WERE RECALLED. (08TR414030). I HAVE THE 3 VALVES IN MY POSSESSION. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED ABOUT THE RECALL. I REMEMBER THE NEWS OF THE ROLLOVER DEATHS IN 2008. THE FORD SERVICE SHOP I TOOK THE CAR TO (TOM MASANO FORD, READING, PA) DENIED KNOWLEDGE OF THE DEFECT OR RECALL. WHEN TRYING TO PUMP GAS, THE SENSOR CUTS THE FLOW OF GAS OFF AT ABOUT ONE HALF GALLON. IF YOU REMOVE THE NOZZLE, GAS SPLASHES BACK AND ALL OVER THE PERSON PUMPING, THE CAR AND THE GROUND. WHEN YOU CONTINUE TO PUMP, THE SENSOR CUTS OFF EVERY SECOND. THERE IS NO WAY THE TANK CAN BE FILLED IN ITS ENTIRETY. I HAVE HAD THE GAS SET UP REBUILT BY MY LOCAL MECHANIC, THINKING SOMETHING MIGHT BE BLOCKING THE CONNECTION OF GAS ENTRY TO TANK, BUT THERE WAS NOTHING AND THE PROBLEM WAS NOT RESOLVED. 2007 FORD MUSTANG WILL NOT FILL UP PAST 1/2 TANK OF FUEL, THE DEALER STATES THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR AND TO TAKE IT TO A DIFFERENT STATION. The contact owns a 2007 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that upon entering the vehicle, there was an abnormal clicking sound coming from an unknown location with the vehicle turned off. The contact became aware that the battery was completely drained. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that electrical components were draining the battery while the vehicle was turned off. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 30,000.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the unknown recall repairs were performed. The contact stated that when the vehicle was picked up from the dealer, the horn and the radio were inoperable. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the contact was informed that the vehicle could not be inspected for 8–16 weeks. THE SMART JUNCTION BOX ON MY 2007 FORD MUSTANG SHORT CIRCUITED DUE TO A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT WHICH CAUSES THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT KICK PANEL TO FLOOD. THERE IS A RUBBER STOPPER WHICH REGULATES WATER FLOW INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT DURING RAIN STORMS. THE STOPPER IS LOCATED UNDER THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS NEAR THE CABIN AIR FILTER. WHEN THE STOPPER BECOMES CLOGGED DUE TO THE ELEMENTS, IT FLOODS THE AREA AND SENDS WATER IN THROUGH THE CABIN AIR FILTER. THE WATER WILL THEN POUR DIRECTLY ON AN ELECTRICAL UNIT - THE SMART JUNCTION BOX. THE SMART JUNCTION BOX CONTROLS ALL THE LIGHTS IN THE CAR, THE HORN, THE ALARM, AND A FEW AUXILIARY ITEMS. DUE TO THE MANUFACTURER'S OVERSIGHT MY CAR HAS A MALFUNCTIONING HORN AND ALARM. I WROTE DIRECTLY TO FORD AND CALLED THEIR CUSTOMER CARE LINE ABOUT THIS CONCERN; FORD DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THIS AS AN AT FAULT SAFETY ISSUE AT THIS TIME. NO FUELING PROBLEMS, NO WATER LEAKS, NO THROTTLE PROBLEMS, NO PAINT ISSUES, NO BRAKE PROBLEMS, NO ELECTRICAL ISSUES, NO CLUTCH/TRANSMISSION ISSUES, IN FACT, OTHER THAN THE 2007 SHELBY GT BEING TOO LOW FOR PRACTICAL STREET USE, THERE HAVE BEEN NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. AS WATER DRIPS DOWN IT MAKES CONTACT WITH THE F J B AND STARTS TO MESS WITH THE ELECTRICAL PARTS, IE POWER WINDOWS GO UP AND DOWN BY THEMSELVES, DASH LIGHT WON'T SHUT OFF, RADIO WILL NOT TURN OFF AND CONVERTIBLE ROOF KEEPS TRYING TO GO UP AND DOWN. ONLY FIX IS TO REPLACE AND REPROGRAM THE FJB BUT FORD NO LONGER MAKES THIS PART BECAUSE OF THE KNOWN ISSUES. I DRIVE A 2007 MUSTANG, MANUAL TRANSMISSION. IN 2008, THE EMERGENCY BRAKE SEEMED TO NOT BE RELEASING ALL THE WAY. I COULD TELL THIS BECAUSE A) MY VEHICLE WOULD SLOW DOWN MORE QUICKLY THAN BEFORE, B) ON A SLIGHT GRADE, MY VEHICLE WOULD REMAIN IN PLACE. THIS ISSUE OCCURED AFTER NORMAL USE OF E-BRAKE NOT BUT 10 MONTHS AFTER THE BRAND NEW PURCHASE FROM DARCARS IN LANHAM, MD. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO LINDSEY FORD IN WHEATON, MD (AROUND THE SAME TIME THE AIR BAG MODULE RECALL WAS ISSUED...) AND THE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT THEY "COULD NOT VERIFY MY CONCERNS AT THIS TIME". HAVING REPLACED THE AIR BAG MODULE FREE OF CHARGE, I WAS IDIOTICALLY APPEASED WITH JUST THAT AND DIDN'T PRESS THE E-BRAKE ISSUE FUTHER. COINCIDENTALLY, AS I WAS LEAVING THEIR LOT, I WENT OVER A SPEED BUMP WHICH SEEMED TO RELEASE THE BRAKE ENOUGH TO NOT CAUSE ANY NOTICABLE BRAKE TENSION WHILE DRIVING. NEEDLESS TO SAY, FROM THAT POINT ON I WAS RELUCTANT TO USE THE EMERGENCY PARKING BRAKE AND ALWAY KEPT MY VEHICLE IN GEAR WHEN PARKED. JUST RECENTLY, I HAD ANOTHER ISSUE WITH THE CLUTCH PEDAL-- GRADUALLY SINKING TO THE FLOOR (WHICH I WAS TOLD WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE CLUTCH SLAVE), AND AGAIN I WENT TO LINDSEY TO SEE IF THEY COULD HELP. THIS TIME AROUND, THEY NOTICE THAT THE E-BRAKE IS VERY MUCH STUCK, AND SUGGESTED I REPLACE THE BRAKE CABLE. $500.00 I DO NOT HAVE. I'VE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE TO THE DIABLO FORD DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION & TEST OVER THE COURSE OF 1 WEEK. THEY'VE REPAIRED SEVERAL PARTS HOWEVER, NONE OF WHICH HAVE RESOLVED THIS ISSUE AND THERE IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. I WAS DRIVING AROUND OUR LOCAL LAKE DOING 25 MPH. I HAD JUST COME AROUND A CURVE AND WAS HEADED FOR ANOTHER CURVE PRETTY QUICKLY. ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE CAR STARTED SPEEDING UP ON ITS OWN. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL AND I HIT THE BRAKES TO TRY TO SLOW DOWN AND NOTHING HAPPENED. THE CAR CONTINUED TO SPEED UP ON ITS OWN. MY SPEED GOT UP TO ABOUT 40 MPH WHEN I CAME UP ON A CURVE. I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES AGAIN AND TRIED TO TURN THE WHEEL BUT I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE CAR AT THIS POINT. EVERY TIME YOU GO TO PUT FUEL IN THE CAR, THE PUMP WILL KICK OFF LIKE THE FUEL TANK IS FULL BUT IT'S NOT. THEN THE WHOLE TIME YOU ARE TRYING TO PUMP GAS IT WILL KICK OFF PROBABLY 20 MORE TIMES UNTIL YOU ARE DONE. THIS IS BEEN ONGOING EVERY SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED. WHAT SHOULD BE A FIVE MINUTE JOB TO FILL UP YOUR GAS TANK CAN TAKE AS MUCH AS 20 MINUTES. HESITATION IN GAS PEDAL/THROTTLE BODY. WHEN PULLING OUT FROM A STOP THE CAR WILL NOT TAKE THE GAS UNTIL THE GAS PEDAL IS DOWN TO ABOUT HALF THROTTLE AT WHICH TIME IT WILL LUNGE AND I MUST LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL ONLY TO REPEAT THE PROCESS UNTIL THE SPEED REACHES ABOUT 30 MPH. there was a recall for my airbag in may of 2015, i purchased the vehicle in june of 2015. in october of 2015 i was involved in a serious MVA. my airbag did not deploy properly and the metal shards cut my face open. along with the faulty airbag my seatbelt did not lock up properly and i was almost ejected out of the vehicle. i started receiving mail and phone calls about fixing my faulty airbag in january of 2016. i had no idea there was even a recall for my vehicle until after my accident.

A FEW YEARS AFTER DEALER INSTALLATION, IT BEGAN TO VIBRATE VERY BADLY; HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THEY COULD NOT STOP THE VIBRATION. APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS AGO, WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE CAR, UPON A SMOOTH ASPHALT ROADWAY, THE CLIP THAT HOLDS THE MIRROR ONTO THE WINDSHIELD BRACKET, SEPARATED AND THE MIRROR FELL OFF THE WINDSHIELD AND DANGLED BY THE WIRING CONNECTION. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO REATTACH THE CLIP TO THE MIRROR, USING SUPERGLUE OR JB WELD; HOWEVER, THE REPAIR DOES NOT LAST MORE THAN 2 OR 3 WEEKS. I HAD 3 VEHICLES' BEHIND ME ON A STEEP MOUNTAIN. AFTER MANAGING TO FIND A PLACE TO STOP ON THE SIDE WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO SEE OUT AT ALL & WAITING OUT THE WORST OF THE RAIN. I THEN TOOK MY CAR TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP & THEY INDICATED I HAD THREE INCHES' OF WATER UNDER THE HOOD & THE WIPER MOTOR WAS IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. I HAD THIS REPAIR DONE AT A COST OF $418 AND NO INDICATION OF WHAT TO DO TO KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN OR ANY OTHER INFO. I STUDIED THIS ISSUE ON THE INTERNET & DISCOVERED THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO A LOT OF MUSTANG OWNERS'. CERTAIN MODEL MUSTANGS' YOU CAN FIND COWL COVERS' TO COVER THE WINDSHIELD WIPER AREA WHICH IS WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. THE HOLES' IN THE COWL & AROUND THE WIPERS' ARE LARGE ENOUGH FOR DEBRIS TO FILL UP THE VENTILATION SYSTEM & THEN THE WATER HAS NO WHERE TO GO BUT INSIDE THE CAR. ALSO THE PLUG UNDER THE HOOD IS SMALL AND HAS NO REAL CAPACITY TO DRAIN OFF LARGE TREE DEBRIS OR OTHER BITS' AND PIECES'. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD MOTOR CO. TODAY BECAUSE OF MY IRE OVER THIS & TO FIND A WAY TO AVOID THIS REPAIR AGAIN AND TODAY THEY INDICATED NOTHING COULD BE DONE FOR A REFUND OR A COWL COVER OR OTHER SOLUTION. I AM THE OWNER OF A 2007 FORD MUSTANG WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. I HAVE HAD THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE BEFORE THE INCIDENT THAT OCCURRED 04/11/09, COMPLAINING OF SIMILAR ISSUES. I PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW IN MAY OF 2007. I WAS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR FEELING SLUGGISH AND FEELING LIKE IT WAS VERY STIFF TO SHIFT OR STICKING. I WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. THE ONLY THING I COULD DO TO KEEP FROM RUNNING INTO ANYONE WAS SLAM ON THE BRAKES WHEN I DID THAT THE BREAKS GAVE A LOUD SCREECH AND WAS VERY SLOW TO STOP. HARMONIC BALANCER/CRANKSHAFT PULLEY CAME APART ON A 2007 FORD MUSTANG V6 WHILE DRIVING. IT HAD LESS THAN 37000 MILES ON IT. LUCKILY, ALL THAT HAPPENED WAS SERPENTINE BELT SLIPPED OFF, WHICH I REALIZED IMMEDIATELY WHEN I LOST POWER STEERING. I WAS NEAR HOME AND GOT HOME SAFELY. THIS COULD BE A MAJOR PROBLEM IF IT HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEED. REPLACED BY MY MECHANIC, WHO SAYS THAT HE HAS SEEN THIS NUMEROUS TIME IN THE PAST, AND THAT FORD NOW SELLS AN "UPDATED" PART FOR THE VEHICLE. THERE'S A CHRONIC HESITATION WHEN YOU PUSH THE ACCELERATOR FROM A YIELD/MERGE TYPE SITUATION AT LOW-SPEED. IT'S NOT EVERY TIME BUT MANY TIMES. TODAY I WAS GOING AROUND A CAR THAT WAS SITTING IN THE ROAD WITH IT'S FLASHERS ON (IE DOUBLE PARKED) AND THERE WAS A CAR IN THE OTHER LANE ON THE 2-LANE ONE-WAY STREET AND I STEPPED ON THE PEDDLE TO ACCELERATE SLIGHTLY AND IT TOTALLY CHOKED AND I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO GET HIT IN THE REAR AND THEN IT KICKED IN. I NOTED THIS WAY BACK WHEN I BOUGHT IT AND AT THAT TIME I THOUGHT IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE GEARING WHICH IT STILL COULD. ALTHOUGH ONE OF THE MOST LIKELY SITUATIONS IS GOING UP A HILL, TURNING SLIGHTLY TO THE RIGHT WHILE SLOWING FOR A YIELD SIGN BUT NOT STOPPING AND THEN PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR ONLY TO GET A HICCUP OR CHOKE OR WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT. THERE ARE ALSO ISSUES FILLING THE TANK BECAUSE OF A LACK OF ENOUGH SPACE FOR FUEL TO REPLACE AIR CAUSING THE SELF-SHUTOFF OF THE PUMP TO KICK-IN NOT FILLING YOUR TANK. I RAISE THIS UP AS THIS COULD BE SOME TYPE OF PRESSURIZATION CONSISTENCY. AS I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65MPH/HOUR I HEAR A SLIGHT POPPING NOISE COME FROM THE FROM PASSENGER TIRE AND THEN FOLLOWED THE TIRES PRESSURE DASH LIGHT ILLUMINATED. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AT MY FIRST OPPORTUNITY. MY TURE HAD GONE COMPLETELY FLAT WITH OUT HITTING ANY BUMPS OR POT HOLES. I PUT THE SPARE ON AND RETURNED HOME. MY BOYFRIEND INSPECTED THE TIRE USING SOAPY WATER AND REALIZED THE AIR WAS ESCAPING FROM THE RIM WALL (STR P245/40 R20) AND NOT THE TIRE ITSELF. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION WE REALIZED MANY STRESS FACTURES ON THE RIM ON ALL FOUR TIRES NOT JUST THE ONE THAT LOST ALL THE AIR ORIGINALLY. I REPLACED MY TIRES PIRELLI ALL SEASON PLUS AND SCORPION VERDE TIRES WITH MY STOCK TIRES. I RESEARCHED THE TIRES FOR A RECALL AND NOTICED A RECALL ON OTHER TIRES THAT WERE THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL JUST DIFFERENT SIZES HAD THE SAME ISSUE, A FAILED RIM WALL CAUSING IT TO BREAK OFF CAUSING ACCIDENTS, THAT MY AFTERMARKET TIRES WERE HAVING. MY TIRES ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE AS THE RECALLED PIRELLIS SO THEREFORE I HAVE NOT BEEN USING MY TIRES FOR FEAR THE OTHER 3 TIRES WILL ALSO WORSEN AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE TO IMMEDIATELY SHIFT TO NEUTRAL AND RESTART THE CAR. IT HAPPENS DURING RUSH HOUR SO I END UP MAKING OTHER DRIVERS ANGRY WHICH IS DANGEROUS. SHE EXPLAINED HOW IT KEPT ACCELERATING AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THEIR FOOT ON THE GAS, THERE WERE NO CAR MATS, NO EXPLANATION. THEY WILL HAVE THEIR FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND IT WILL START REVING. THE 2007 MUSTANG PULLED OUT FROM THE SIDE-STREET IN FRONT OF AN OLDER CHEVY PICKUP AT A TEE INTERSECTION IN A SUBURBAN NEIGHBORHOOD WITH VERY RESTRICTED SIGHT DISTANCE, AND WAS T-BONED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE BY THE PICKUP TRAVELLING AT AROUND 35 MPH. THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE MUSTANG WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED TO THE EXTENT THAT THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL/TIRE/SUSPENSION ASSEMBLY WAS RIPPED OFF THE CAR. THE POINT OF IMPACT WAS BETWEEN THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL AND THE MIDDLE OF THE DRIVER'S DOOR. THE MUSTANG IS A ONE-OWNER CAR WHICH WAS BOUGHT NEW AND WAS SPECIFICALLY PURCHASED WITH SIDE AIRBAGS (AN OPTION ON 2007 MUSTANGS). THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN WELL-MAINTAINED. THE AIRBAG TAB WAS VISIBLE ON THE SEAT SIDE BOLSTER. DESPITE THE SEVERITY OF THE IMPACT, THE SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. WE HAVE PHOTOS DOCUMENTING THE POSITIONING OF THE VEHICLES AND THE DAMAGE TO THE MUSTANG, INCLUDING SHOWING THE SIDE AIRBAG TAB AND SIDE OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT WITH THE SIDE AIRBAG OBVIOUSLY NOT DEPLOYED. WE BELIEVE THAT THE SIDE AIRBAG WAS DEFECTIVE SINCE IT DID NOT DEPLOY. NOTE: THE STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG (SUBJECT TO THE TAKATA RECALL BUT NOT YET REPLACED) DID DEPLOY CORRECTLY.

I STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN, THEN MADE A RIGHT HAND TURN, MY CAR STARTED SLIDING ON THE ICE IN THE STREET, I TURNED THE WHEELS HARD LEFT TO AVOID A CAR PARKED ON THE STREET, THEN I BELIEVE I TRIED TURNING RIGHT TO STAY ON THE STREET, UNFORTUNATELY I HIT A TREE WITH THE RIGHT SIDE OF FRONT BUMPER HARD ENOUGH TO PUSH THE WHEEL BACK ABOUT 2-3 FEET. THE AIR BAG DID NOT GO OFF AND THE SEATBELT ALLOWED MY CHEST TO HIT THE STEERING WHEELING CAUSING A CHEST WALL CONTUSION AND EXACERBATION OF MY LOW BACK PAIN (I HAD A FUSION OF 2 DISCS WITH COMPLICATIONS OF CELLULITIS AND OSTEOMYELITIS POST-OP), ALONG WITH PAIN IN MY LEFT HIP REPLACEMENT BECAUSE MY KNEE HIT THE DASH. I ALSO HAVE HAD OFF AND ON NUMBNESS IN MY RIGHT LITTLE FINGER WHICH I AM NOT SURE IF IT IS FROM SOMETHING IN MY SHOULDER OR SOMETHING IN MY NECK SINCE THE SURGERY. I WILL HAVE TO LET MY DOCTOR KNOW THIS WHEN I SEE HIM AS A FOLLOW-UP FROM THE ER. I ALSO WILL BE LETTING THE DOCTOR OR N.P. I SEE AT THE PAIN CLINIC I GO TO OF THIS FACT. FORD SHELBY GT500 2007, ACCELERATOR STUCK! WHILE GOING AROUND SOME CARS ON A 4 LANE HIGHWAY AT FIRST I DIDN'T BOTHER TO DOWNSHIFT AND DEPRESSED THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. I PULLED OFF THE FREEWAY INTO A REST STOP AREA. MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE, AND ONLY ON THE BRAKE. I STOPPED IN A PARKING SPACE AND MOVED THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION LEVER FROM DRIVE TO PARK. THE RPM INSTANTLY INCREASED FROM APPROXIMATELY 600 RPM IN DRIVE TO APPROXIMATELY 6000 RPM IN PARK. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL AND GAVE THE GAS PEDAL A QUICK TAP. THE RPM RETURNED TO NORMAL, ABOUT 750 RPM IN PARK. THE DEALERSHIP INSPECTED THE CAR, BUT COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THEY CONTACTED FORD, WHO MAINTAINED THE INCIDENT COULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED THE WAY I DESCRIBED IT. THEY FURTHER TOLD THE DEALERSHIP NOT TO PERFORM ANY REPAIRS UNLESS A SIMILAR INCIDENT RECURRED. I WENT TO A DEALER IN SAN DIEGO WHEN MY CAR WAS STILL ACTING UP BAD, AND THEY FIXED MY TRANSMISSION LEAK, WHICH TOOK 10 DAYS, BUT SAID MY SHIFTER WAS WORKING COMPLETELY FINE.

SIMILAR TO THE 2010 FUSION PROBLEM OF STUCK ACCELERATOR, I HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THE 2007 FORD MUSTANG GT. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED EVER SINCE I RECEIVED THE MATS IN JUNE OF 2007 AND HAS OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES! THE ALL-WEATHER MAT IS SITTING ON TOP OF THE STANDARD MAT AND SLIPS FORWARD. THE DRIVER SIDE FLOOR MAT/RUG ON MY 2007 MUSTANG WAS NOT LOCKED UNDER THE TAB ON THE FLOOR. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. BECAUSE THE MAT SLIDES FORWARD IT INTERFERES WITH THE GAS/ACCELERATOR PEDAL CAUSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO NOT RETURN AND ALLOW DE-ACCELERATION/SLOWING DOWN. I TOOK THE MUSTANG TO A LOCAL DEALER TO HAVE THE SYSTEM CHECKED. THEIR CONCLUSION WAS THE FLOOR MAT/RUG CAUSED THE PROBLEM AND THAT IT MUST BE LOCKED UNDER THE TAB TO PREVENT IT FROM SLIDING FORWARD AND INTERFERING WITH THE PEDAL. I READ AN ARTICLE IN THE SEPTEMBER 2008 CONSUMERS REPORTS MAGAZINE WHICH DESCRIBED A RECALL FOR MANUFACTURER : TECH INTERNATIONAL, NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER : 08T018000 , FOR DEFECTIVE TIRE VALVES. I HAD A PROBLEM WITH A DEFECTIVE TIRE VALVE RECENTLY ON MY 2007 FORD MUSTANG, AND NOW WONDER IF FORD ISN'T USING THIS SAME MANUFACTURER OF TIRE VALVES IN THEIR NEW CARS. MORE DETAILS OF MY INCIDENT FOLLOW... 1) I WAS DRIVING AT APPROX. 55 MPH ON TWO LANE ROAD ON A HOT (90+) SUMMER DAY (6/8/08). THE LOW PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, AND I PULLED OVER ASAP TO INVESTIGATE. 2) THE DRIVER SIDE REAR TIRE WAS LOW. I PUMPED AIR INTO THE TIRE, AND NOTICED THE VALVE STEM WAS CRACKED AT THE BASE WHERE IT INSTALLS IN THE ALLOY RIM. IT WOULD NOT HOLD PRESSURE, SO I INSTALLED THE SPARE, AND DROVE TO A NEARBY SEARS TO REPAIR THE VALVE STEM. 3) I PAID $26 FOR A "FLAT REPAIR" - BASICALLY THEY REPLACED THE TIRE VALVE. I DO NOT HAVE THE OLD PART. THE GOOD NEWS IS THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR TECHNOLOGY SAVED ME FROM HAVING A HIGH SPEED FLAT. I EXPECTED TO FIND A NAIL IN MY TIRE, NOT A FAULTY VALVE STEM. I HAVE NOT CONTACTED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER AT THIS TIME. I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW FROM FORD IN APRIL 2007. IT IS A 2007 FORD MUSTANG V6, 4.0L SOHC, WITH APPROX. 10K MILES. I PURCHASED MY 2007 FORD MUSTANG GT IN AUGUST OF 2007. IT WAS A FLOOR MODEL THAT THE DEALER HAD DONE MODIFICATIONS TO. ON 24 JAN 08 I WENT TO FILL "TOP-OFF" THE FUEL WHICH WAS BELOW 3/4 OF TANK. AFTER ONLY GETTING ABOUT 1.87 GALLONS IN, THE PUMP CLICKED OFF. I TRIED TO PUMP MORE GAS INTO THE TANK AND WAS SURPRISED WHEN IT STARTED TO OVERFLOW. TL*THE CONTACT LEASES A 2007 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRONIC REMOTE DOES NOT WORK. IF THE DOOR IS OPENED MANUALLY, IT SHUTS DOWNS THE ELECTRONIC SYSTEM AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS. I HAD FILED A COMPLAINT A FEW WEEKS AGO ( ODI# 10192797) ABOUT THE POWER STEERING PUMP FAILURE ON MY 2007 MUSTANG GT WHICH HAD 270 MILES ON IT. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE PUMP UNDER THE WARRANTY AND I HAD MENTIONED A PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT END ALSO. I RETURNED THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND TO MY DISMAY, WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD TO REPLACE MY FRONT STRUTS, THEY EXPLAINED THAT THIS WAS THE CAUSE OF MY ALIGNMENT ISSUE. THEY FURTHER EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THEY THINK THAT WHILE MY CAR WAS BEING TRANSPORTED VIA TRAIN, THAT THEY TIED THE CAR DOWN TOO TIGHTLY CAUSING STRESS ON THE STRUTS AND CASTERS CAUSING THE ALIGNMENT AND STEERING WHEEL ISSUES. THE WORK HAS BEEN COMPLETED AND COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND ALTHOUGH THE ALIGNMENT ISSUE HAS BEEN SOLVED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BACK IN ITS NORMAL POSITION I HAVE NOTICED A THUMPING NOISE FROM THE RIGHT FRONT WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS, ALMOST LIKE A BAD STRUT MOUNT OR SOMETHING. IN ALL FAIRNESS TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO IS FIXING MY CAR, THEY HAVE BEEN EXCELLENT WITH ME AND THIS HAS ALL BEEN COVERED UNDER WARRANTY .
