THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. IT WAS UNKNOWN A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CALLER CONTACTED FORD AND WAS PROVIDED WITH CASE NUMBER 22339965 ALONG WITH BEING ADVISED TO CONTACT NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

INITIALLY TAKEN TO DEALER ~1 YEAR AGO FOR ODOR (NO WATER YET). COULD NOT IDENTIFY PROBLEM, NOTHING DONE. TECHNICIAN DOING INSPECTION LAST WEEK THOUGHT IT WAS MOLD CAUSING THE OVERWHELMING SMELL AND THERE MUST BE A LEAK. TOOK TO DEALER FOLLOWING MONDAY. DEALER DETERMINED A SEAM IN THE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED TO STOP THE WATER LEAK. DRIED AND CLEANED INTERIOR TO GET RID OF SMELL. UNKNOWN HOW LONG DEODORIZING WILL LAST THOUGH. MY MUSTANG IS ONLY 6 YEARS OLD, MINT CONDITION, ONLY 21,800 MILES ON IT CURRENTLY. PAINT IS BUBBLING ON THE HOOD, ABOUT TO START PEELING OFF. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS TODAY, I'VE LEARNED THAT THIS IS APPARENTLY A PROBLEM ON MULTIPLE FORD MODELS, INCLUDING AND BEYOND THE MUSTANG, AND SPANNING MANY MODEL YEARS. I UNDERSTAND THAT FORD IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND HAS ISSUED AT LEAST ONE TSB ON IT, IF NOT MORE, YET CONTINUES TO KNOWINGLY SELL THESE VEHICLES WITH DEFECTIVE PAINT JOBS ON THEM, CAUSING THEIR CUSTOMERS FINANCIAL LOSS IN HAVING TO REPAINT THE VEHICLE IN AS FEW AS 3 YEARS AFTER PURCHASING. DUE TO THE CORROSIVE NATURE, THIS IS AN EXTRAORDINARILY INTRICATE PROCESS TO REPAINT THESE AND REQUIRES SPECIAL PROCESSES AND FORD IS REFUSING TO FIX THESE VEHICLES EVEN THOUGH THEY CREATED THE PROBLEM. IT SOUNDS LIKE THERE IS ONE LAWSUIT IN PROGRESS BUT IT ONLY GOES UP TO 2007 MODELS I THINK, BUT APPARENTLY THERE ARE MANY VEHICLES BEYOND THAT YEAR THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I READ "FORD USED ALUMINUM HOODS BUT FAILED TO PROPERLY INSULATE THEM FROM PRIOR MODEL YEAR IRON-BASED CONNECTING AND SUPPORTING PARTS, DESPITE KNOWING THAT WOULD GIVE RISE TO GALVANIC COUPLING AND CORROSION" FOR A MORE TECHNICAL ANSWER. ALSO I FOUND "WHAT IS INTERESTING TO NOTE ABOUT THIS ISSUE IS THAT FORD ACTUALLY WROTE A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (TSB) AND SENT IT OUT TO ALL OF ITS DEALERS IN 2004 OUTLINING THE ISSUES WITH THE HOODS AND HOW TO REPAIR THEM PROPERLY, EVEN THOUGH THEY DENY ALL WRONG DOING OR THAT AN ISSUE EVEN EXISTS - BUT IT IS PRETTY HARD TO IGNORE THAT AN ISSUE EXISTS WHEN A SIMPLE GOOGLE SEARCH OF 'MUSTANG HOOD PROBLEMS' OR "FORD PAINT PROBLEMS" WILL BRING UP FORUM AFTER FORUM OF MUSTANG OWNERS COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS ISSUE". I ALSO READ A POST THAT ANOTHER TSB WENT OUT AFTER THE FIRST ONE THAT INCLUDES ALL MODELS UP TO 2016! PLEASE HELP US!

When vehicle is placed in park while on, vehicle rolls forward . Put vehicle in park on the side of the road to answer a phone call. Was pulled up behind another vehicle and car rolled forward, and rear ended vehicle in front of me. The police were notified but no citation was given Another time vehicle was in park and running and ran over somebodies foot. very unacceptable

I PURCHASED A 2010 FORD MUSTANG V6 COUPE AND HAVE HAD SEVERAL TRANSMISSION ISSUES. THE HYDROLIC CLUTCH HAS BEEN REPLACED, THE SLAVE CYLANDER, THROTTLE BODY UNIT, AND THERMOSTAT HAVE BEEN REPLACED. MY CAR HAS DIFFICULTY SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR, AND REVERSE. I HAVE TO COAST THE CAR AND RE-ENGAGE THE CLUTCH WHILE SHIFTING BACK AND FORTH TO GET IT INTO RESERVE. MY TRANSMISSION SOUNDS LIKE ITS GRINDING AND THE SHIFTER MAKES A KNOCKING NOISE. WHEN SHIFTING THE CAR LIKES TO JUMP FOWARD. MY SHIFTER SHAKES AND WANTS TO POP OUT OF 5TH GEAR WHILE ON THE FREE-WAY. I HAVE BEEN TELLING THE FORD DEALERSHIP THIS AS WELL AS FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER SERVICE IN DEARBORNE MI. WHEN INVOLVED THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT'S NORMAL FOR MY CAR AND THAT ALL I CAN DO IS WAIT FOR A 'CATASTROPHIC' EVENT TO OCCUR OR I CAN TRADE IN MY CAR. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WAIT FOR SOMETHING CASTASTROPHIC TO OCCUR FOR FORD TO TAKE ME SERIOUSLY. THE WEEK AFTER GETTING MY AIRBAG REPLACED AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP ON MY 2011 MUSTANG IT BEGAN HAVING A PROBLEM. WHILE DRIVING, WITHOUT WARNING, THE VEHICLE'S WRENCH WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AND THE VEHICLE GOES INTO IDLE MODE. THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE AND YOU HAVE TO PULL OVER, TURN THE ENGINE OFF, AND THEN RESTART THE CAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED GOING THOUGH INTERSECTIONS, RIDING ON HIGHWAYS AND ALL OTHER PLACES. I RIDE IN THE SLOW LANES ON HIGHWAYS JUST INCASE IT SHUTS DOWN. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED.

THERE ARE TIMES WHERE I AM ABLE TO APPLY COMPLETE PRESSURE TO MY MUSTANG'S ACCELERATION PEDAL AND UPON REMOVING MY FOOT FROM THE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO ACCELERATE. ON FEBRUARY 4TH, 2015, MY CAR CONTINUED ACCELERATION ON WHAT WAS LUCKILY AN OPEN HIGHWAY. I ATTEMPTED TO APPLY MY BRAKES AND THEY SEEMED TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN SOMEWHAT. UPON RELEASING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE BEGAN ACCELERATING AGAIN. I HAD TO REPEATEDLY JAM MY FOOT INTO THE GAS PEDAL TO BREAK IT FREE. I WAS ABLE TO REPLICATE THIS SAME ISSUE DIRECTLY AFTERWARDS. NEXT, I PARKED MY VEHICLE AND TURNED IT OFF. I CHECKED TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING THE PEDAL COULD BE GETTING STUCK ON. I HAVE FLOOR MATS, BUT, THERE IS NO WAY IT IS SEEMINGLY POSSIBLE FOR THE PEDAL TO GET STUCK UNDERNEATH THE MAT. I TRIED MY BEST TO FIND SOME WAY THE GET THE PEDAL STUCK UNDERNEATH THE FLOOR MAT. THE PEDAL WOULD JUST POP RIGHT BACK UP. WHAT REALLY SCARED ME, WAS AFTER RELEASING THE GAS PEDAL (WITH THE CAR OFF) AND VISUALLY SEEING THE PEDAL UNTOUCHED BY ANY TYPE OF OBSTRUCTION, I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE BEGAN REVVING AS IF I WAS HOLDING THE GAS PEDAL DOWN, BUT OF COURSE THE CAR WAS IN PARK. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE SINCE THEN TODAY. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT HAS OCCURRED MORE THAN ONCE ON MULTIPLE DAYS OF DRIVING. *TR

THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY THE RPMS WOULD GO DOWN WHILE ACCELERATING LOSING POWER AND HARDLY MOVING THE CAR. AT ONE POINT I ALMOST GET REAR ENDED BECAUSE AS I WAS ACCELERATING FROM A GREEN LIGHT THE CAR TOTALLY STALLED AND WOULD ACCELERATE VERY SLOWLY. I DECIDED TO TAKE IT TO A FORD DEALER AND HAVE THEIR TECHNICIANS CHECK IT,SINCE I READ MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT SEVERAL FORDS FROM 2005 TO 2012 INCLUDING THE MUSTANG.THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NO WARRANTY OR KNOWN RECALL ON THIS ISSUE, WHEN IN FACT I READ DOZENS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT, IN SEVERAL WEBSITES. I PAID FORD FOR THE REPAIR I HAD TO,FOR MY OWN SAFETY AND MY DAUGHTER THAT RIDES WITH ME IN THAT CAR EVERYDAY AND TOLD THE DEALER THIS WAS NOT GONNA STAY LIKE THIS. MY CAR BATTERY IS BEING DRAINED AND GOING DEAD, WHILE CAR IS COMPLETELY OFF AFTER SITTING FOR MORE THAN 10 MINUTES. I HAVE HAD THE BATTERY CHECKED, ALTERNATOR CHECKED, AND ALL FUSES PULLED AND DIAGNOSED TO SEE IF THERE WAS A SHORTAGE OR BAD FUSES. ALL WIRES, CONNECTORS, AND FUSES WERE DOCUMENTED TO BE IN GOOD STANDING. THE CAR HAD BEEN DRIVING PERFECTLY AND CRANKING WITH NO PROBLEM, THEN THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED OUT OF THE BLUE. THE SAME DAY IT WENT DEAD, THAT MORNING IS WHEN MY CAR STARTED UP SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT; BUT I DID NOT PAY IT MUCH ATTENTION, SINCE IT DID CRANK. LATER THAT DAY, I STARTED MY CAR AND IT SLIGHTLY TOOK A SECOND LONGER TO CRANK; WHICH IS WHEN I THEN FIGURED SOMETHING WAS GOING WRONG. I MADE IT TO MY DESTINATION - WHERE I WAS THERE FOR ABOUT A 1.5 HOURS - GOT IN THE CAR TO LEAVE, AND THAT'S WHEN I FIRST EXPERIENCED A COMPLETELY DEAD BATTERY. I THEN WAS ABLE TO GET A JUMP, WHICH STARTED MY CAR RIGHT BACK UP; WHEREAS, I THEN HEADED TO AUTOZONE AND GOOD YEAR TIRES TO HAVE MY BATTERY TESTED. EACH PLACE STATED THAT MY BATTERY WAS 100% AND CHARGING PERFECTLY. THE SERVICE MANAGER INFORMED ME THAT THE GAS TANK IS COMING APART AT THE SEAM AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO PAY $3000 TO REPLACE THE TANK. I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER CARE WITH MY SAFETY CONCERNS AND REQUESTED THEY SEND A REPRESENTATIVE TO PLANET FORD TO INSPECT THE TANK FOR DEFECT AND WHAT MAY HAVE CAUSED IT. ON OCT 27, 2014 I WAS TRAVELING OUT OF TOWN ONTO OUR LOCAL HIGHWAY. THE WINDOW WAS TINTED AND IS WHAT KEPT THE GLASS FROM SCATTERING ALL OVER THE GROUND AND IN THE CAR. THE WINDOW ITSELF IS BELIEVED TO BE DEFECTIVE BUT CANNOT VERIFY THIS. IT IS ALSO BELIEVED THAT THERE MIGHT HAVE BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THE WINDOW MECHANISM NOT BEING PROPERLY ADJUSTED BUT ALSO CANNOT VERIFY THIS. I was simply going up a slight hill and the wrench light turned on I lost power she still accelerated but sluggish and changing gears was sluggish too. Turned it off at the house made sure my CAI was good and the light is off. I see tons upon tons of people complaining about the wrench light and the throttlebody. No codes. Something is wrong with them I see people have trouble with 12k on their Throttle body. I wanted to go on here to say that I believe it is EXTREMELY dangerous for the issue to come and go especially on busy roads. The problem comes and goes without a trace. So dangerous it deserves a recall just like my airbag and the hundreds of thousands who reported it

I HAD A NEW OEM WINDSHIELD INSTALLED BY SAFELITE GLASS WHO INSTALLED A CARLITE WINDSHIELD AND THE DISTORTION AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE WINDOW IS VERY BAD. EVERYTHING LOOKS CURVY AND MAGNIFIED WHEN I SEE OUT OF THAT PART OF THE GLASS. REALIZE I SIT VERY LOW IN THE MUSTANG AND ACTUALLY SEE A LOT THROUGH THE BOTTOM 2 INCHES AND LEFT 2 INCHES. SAFELITE BROUGHT 5 DIFFERENT CARLITE WINDSHIELDS AND THEY ALL HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. MY INSURANCE COMPANY SAID I COULD USE SOMEONE ELSE SO I WENT TO JN PHILLIPS AND THEY HAD A COUPLE OF CARLITE WINDSHIELDS IN STOCK FOR MY MUSTANG AND THEY TOO WERE DISTORTED. THE GLASS TECHNICIAN THERE EVEN CONFIRMED IT. I AM BEING TOLD THAT IS THE ONLY GLASS I CAN GET FOR MY MUSTANG AND EVERYWHERE THEY CHECKED HAD DISTORTED GLASS. THE DOT NUMBER OF ALL THE WINDSHIELDS THAT HAVE BEEN DELIVERED TO ME ALREADY (6 WINDSHIELDS NOW) ARE ALL 287. JN PHILIPS CALLED ALL AROUND AND ALL THAT IS AROUND IS DOT 287 GLASS WITH THE SAME DISTORTION. I WILL NOT ACCEPT HAVING TO LIVE WITH AN INFERIOR WINDSHIELD LIKE THIS. NOONE FROM FORD OR CARLITE HAS HELPED ME WITH THIS PROBLEM AS I HAVE CONTACTED THEM SEVERAL TIMES. THE OPERATING FREQUENCIES OF PWM (PULSE WIDTH MODULATION) LED'S (LIGHT EMITTING DIODE) IS TO LOW FOR SOME VIEWERS! THIS IS A VERY REAL CONDITION KNOWN AS FLICKER FUSION OR CRITICAL FUSION FREQUENCY AND DOES NOT HAVE THE SAME EFFECT ON ALL VIEWERS. A RECALL IS NEEDED TO FIX THIS TRAVESTY THAT HAS GOTTEN OUT OF CONTROL. IT STARTED WITH CADILLAC'S SRX AROUND 2000, NOW IN 2010 FORD AND VOLKSWAGEN HAVE GONE OVERBOARD AND JUST ABOUT ALL THE VEHICLES THEY BUILD ARE OPERATING AT THIS DANGEROUS AND DEADLY FREQUENCY. BOUGHT A 2010 MUSTANG GT500 CONVERTIBLE ON FEB 18 2010. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD TWO OF THE SAME ISSUES WITH PROBLEMS SHIFTING THE TRANSMISSION TO SECOND GEAR AND FIFTH GEAR. IT IS IN THE SHOP NOW FOR THE SECOND TIME TRYING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. ALSO, IN MARCH, MY VEHICLE WAS STRUCK BY A CAR FROM THE REAR WITH NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. THE CAR WAS IN THE FORD SERVICE SHOP GETTING THE TRANSMISSION CHECKED BEFORE THE WORK WAS DONE ON THE CAR TO FIX THE REAR BUMPER. (THE TRANSMISSION HAD AN ISSUE BEFORE THE WRECK). ON JULY 24 AROUND 930 PM MY PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG DEPLOYED ON MY PASSENGER WITH 0 IMPACT TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN BROUGHT TO THE SERVICE TO HAVE THE TRANNY CHECKED FOR THE SECOND TIME AND I MENTIONED THIS AIRBAG PROBLEM AT THE TIME I CAME IN FOR THE SERVICE APPT. ( THE NIGHT OF THE INCIDENT I HAD THE POLICE FILE A REPORT AND I HAVE A FILE NUMBER FOR THIS, AFTER THE FILE WAS FILED, I CALLED AND LEFT A MESSAGE FOR THE DEALERSHIP STATING THIS HAPPENED) . FORD, SINCE HAS SAID THAT TO CONTACT MY INSURANCE COMPANY BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING FURTHER THEY CAN DO. I HAVE AN ADJUSTER DUE TO LAFAYETTE FORD IN FAYETTEVILLE, NC ON THE 4TH OF AUG. I HAVE RESEARCHED 3 OTHER VEHICLES WITH THIS PROBLEM : 2008 MUSTANG, AND 2010 FORD ESCAPES THEN MY 2010 GT500 MUSTANG SHELBY. MY PASSENGER WAS INJURED AND IS IN A SLING. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE ROTATING THE TIRES, HE NOTICED THE FUEL LINE WAS HAD FRACTURED AND WAS DANGLING FROM ITS HOUSING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER HOWEVER; THE BRACKET FOR THE FUEL LINE WAS MISSING. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE BRACKET WAS NOT A PART THAT WAS SOLD INDIVIDUALLY AND THE ENTIRE FUEL LINE ASSEMBLY COVER WOULD NEED TO BE PURCHASED AND REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 3,733. THE CONSUMER STATED THE PROBLEM HE IS HAVING IS NOT ONLY SPECIFIC TO HIS VEHICLE. HE FOUND TWO OTHER MODELS THAT HAD THE SAME MISSING FUEL LINE SUPPORT BRACKET; A 2010 V6 MODEL AND A 2011 V8 GT MODEL. UPDATED 07/13/10
