The contact owned a 2014 Ford Mustang. The contact stated while driving at 45 MPH, the contact fell asleep and lost control of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to crash into the rear end of another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy, causing the contact to hit his head against the steering wheel. The contact became dizzy and lightheaded. The contact was able to exit the vehicle; however, the front driver's side door could only slightly open due to the significant damage to the vehicle's front end. The contact received medical assistance the following day. The contact underwent a CT scan and was informed that he had sustained a concussion. The vehicle was towed and totaled. A police report was filed. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 100,502.

I randomly checked to see if any recalls were out regarding this vehicle. Upon checking I entered my vin # but was advised it was not part of the airbag recall. However my airbag light constantly comes on.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Mustang. The contact stated while driving at 65 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted to first gear. The check engine warning light illuminated, and the instrument cluster was red. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a failed transmission ring sensor. The contact was informed that the transmission ring sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the contact stated that the failure was intermittent, and occasionally the vehicle lost motive power. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 172,000.

Was driving my vehicle on the freeway traveling about 70 miles per hour when the vehicle suddenly shifted into first gear. I was able to maintain control and the vehicle shifted back to sixth gear. Issue occurred again within 5 minutes of the first incident and then the vehicle went into "Limp Mode". I was able to drive the vehicle home under this condition. Vehicle check engine light turned on and the code P0720, which is the Output Speed Sensor Circuit. This is the same issue that occurred on 2011-2013 F-150 and Mustang vehicles that currently have a recall for this (Safety Recall 19S07). The same transmissions (6R80) are used in both vehicles, as well as the Powertrain Control Modules, but my vehicle's VIN did not fall under this recall. This is a very dangerous issue that could lead to a deadly accident.

On 5-26-22 i took my mustang to Roush Ford in Hillard Oh. They tested and found out that I needed a lead frame connector. Part # Al327627V $ 226.10. I paid in advance for this part as Roush said they would not order unless I paid in advance. Roush stated they would call when part comes in. I made several attempts to get status of part and all they would say is they were still awaiting. On or about 6-20-23 I called again, At this time they stated the dealership had been sold to Valley ford and still no word on part arrival. I have owned several Fords in my life but after awaiting over 1 yr on a part and car I could not safely have my wife drive I decided to trade it in for another vehicle. I then called Valley to ask for them to credit my card in the amount of the part. They told me that the money went with Roush and they could not return my money?? They suggested I call Roush auto group( Honda ). I made the call to service manager and he said that Roush Ford was no longer in business and they could not refund my monies. In my mind Ford was paid the $226.10 and someone should be able to pay me back. I am asking that The Ford Motor co honor the deal by paying me back. Thanks

While driving the clutch pedal will stick to the floor after shifting gears. You can pull the pedal up manually and it will functioning properly for a while but will repeat sticking to the floor. May happen once a day, once a week or more often. Ambient temperature has no affect to the problem. Car currently has 15,000 miles on it

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PUSH THE STEERING WHEEL BACK IN AND DROVE VERY SLOWLY TO HER RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE BOLT ON OUR 2014 MUSTANG'S STEERING COLUMN (INSIDE BY THE FIRE WALL) CAME LOOSE AND FELL OUT CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO SPIN FREELY. FORTUNATELY THIS HAPPENED IN A PARKING LOT WHERE THE CAR COULD COAST INTO A PARKING SPACE AND NOT AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER WHERE THEY ARE REPLACING THE BOLT.

RUST ON HOOD, ALREADY DOCUMENTED AT FRIENDSHIP FORD IN LENOIR, NC. THIS CAR IS TAKEN CARE OF VERY WELL WITH REGULAR WASHING AND WAXING, WE WERE ALMOST SICK TO OUR STOMACH TO FIND RUST WITH SO FEW MILES AND ON AN ALUMINUM HOOD AT THAT. WE WERE REALLY SHOCKED WHEN WE WERE TOLD IT WAS NOT COVERED BECAUSE IT WAS NOT PERFORATED. I HAVE SPOKEN TO SEVERAL PEOPLE IN THE FIELD AND THEY SAY THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN ALUMINUM PERFORATE DUE TO RUST. I HOPE FORD MOTOR CO. WILL DO THE RIGHT THING AND FIX THESE PROBLEMS THAT THEY ALREADY KNOW EXIST. THE WATER PUMP FAILED ON THE 3.7 V6 AND THERE WAS A TSB16-0074 THAT HAS A CHECK VALVE IN IT TO PREVENT THE FAILURE OF THE WATER PUMPS. PROBLEM WAS NOTICED WHEN CAR HAD ALREADY PULLED OUT OF THE GARAGE. . THERE WAS A PUDDLE OF WATER UNDER THE FRONT CENTER OF THE CAR. MY WIFE DROVE TO THE SALON. I WENT THERE TO CHECK AND ADD ONE GALLON OF ANTIFREEZE TO THE RADIATOR OVERFLOW.

Door latch failure caused by high heat environment, vehicle initially purchased in the state of Arizona. When the door is attempted to be closed it will either bounce open catching on a latch jammed in the closed position, or when closed it will effortlessly push open without the need to engage the door handle. Ford Corporate told me this would be a free recall service, but when I showed up for my appointment the DGDG dealer attempted to charge me $200 for a diagnostic. I don't need a diagnostic I know what's wrong, I don't appreciate being lied to or taken for a fool.

THE RADIO MADE A LOUD BOOM. SPOOKED ME OUT AND ALMOST CAUSED ME TO WREAK. THE RADIO CONTINUES TO DO LOUD BOOMS AND DOES NOT MAKE ANY NOISE. I HAVE RESEARCHED IF THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM AND YES THERE ARE MANY WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THE RADIO WILL ONLY FLASH TIME AND WILL NOT PLAY SOUND. I USE THE RADIO FOR THE HANDLESS LAW PASSED LAST YEAR. I ALSO USE IT TO TELL ME WHERE TO GO. I WAS DRIVING WHEN THIS HAPPENED.

AIR CONDITIONING / VENT SYSTEMS. AC STOPPED WORKING, JUST PRIOR WHEN I USED MY DEFOGGER I NOTICED A FILM ON MY WINDSHIELD. AFTER IT STOPPED THIS FILM WAS SO MASSIVE, I WAS IN SERIOUS RAIN STORM AND I COULD NOT SEE OUT, I HAD TO REALLY OPEN WINDOWS WITH RAIN POURING IN TO GET FILM OFF, I HAD PROB DRIVING WITH WINDOW OPENED SO MUCH I CLOSED TO A QUARTER, AND AGAIN THE FILM CAME BACK ONLY THIS TIME I HIT FLOODING ON I-75 SHORTLY BEFORE MY EXIT, CAUSING ME TO SWERVE INTO THE PATH OF A TRACTOR TRAILER, THANK GOD FOR MANUAL I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT AND ESCAPE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I CONTACTED FORD AND I ATTEMPTED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT, THERE WAS A FEE OF WHICH I JUST DIDN'T HAVE AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD COME OFF REPAIR BILL WHICH WOULD BE $2000.00 MY WARRANTY ONLY EXPIRED THE MONTH PRIOR. UNBELIEVABLE! I HAVE DONE LOADS OF RESEARCH, AND HAVE SEEN WAY TOO MANY MUSTANGS OF VARIOUS YEARS AND SPOKE WITH OWNERS AND ALL OF US HAVE SAME EXACT ISSUE. THERE ARE THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS AND ALL FORD SAYS IS "IT HAPPENS". THIS IS NOT A COMFORT ISSUE BUT A SERIOUS CONDITION THAT CAN GET SOMEONE KILLED IF THEY NEED THEIR FOGGER. MY 2014 MUSTANG BEGAN STALLING OUT FROM A STOPPED POSITION IT HAPPENED 4 TIMES IN 2 DAYS ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS. 6/13/2019. IT WAS DRIVEN TO KINDLE FORD IN CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, NJ. THEY CLAIMED THEY COULD NOT FIND A "CODE" TO FIX ANYTHING. CHARGED $136.00 FOR NOTHING. I PICKED MY VEHICLE UP ON 6/14. STILL STALLED FROM A STOPPED POSITION. ON 6/18 THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF 7 TIMES WITHIN A 4 BLOCK RADIUS. I WAS STUCK ON HIGHWAY AND WAS HELPED TO PUSH INTO AN EMPTY LOT. TOWED BACK TO KINDLE FOR NOW THE ENGINE WAS ON AND THEY SAY IT IS THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY. ANOTHER $387.00 COST.

WATER CLOGGED UNDER THE DRIVER'S SEAT OF FORD MUSTANG 2014 CONVERTIBLE. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY PARKED IN FRONT OF HOME ALONG THE CURB FOR 15-20 DAYS AND ITS RAINY SEASON IN CALIFORNIA. A PUDDLE IS FORMED ON THE LEFT SIDE UNDER THE DRIVER'S SEAT. CAR WAS PARKED DOWNHILL SO WATER ACCUMULATED IN THE FRONT. IT'S BECAUSE OF THE WATER WHICH GETS ACCUMULATED OVERTIME IN THE LEFT/DRIVER DOOR IN SOME MODELS OF MUSTANG. OVERTIME, IT CROSSES THRESHOLD AND STARTS LEAKING INSIDE THE VEHICLE. IDEALLY, WATER SHOULD BE DRAINED AUTOMATICALLY. BUT TO REMOVE WATER FROM DOOR YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE BLACK PLUG AT BOTTOM OF THE DOOR. AND NO WAY TO REMOVE WATER FROM INSIDE OF THE CAR. IT POTENTIALLY CAUSES SERIOUS DAMAGE TO INTERNALS OF CAR AND MOLDS. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS PEOPLE FACING THIS ISSUE AND ITS COMMON IN SOME MUSTANGS. I currently own a 2014 Mustang GT with a manual transmission and notice my emergency brake release button was cracking. The button is made of cheap plastic and the dealer does not have a replacement release button. They only sell the whole emergency brake, which I feel that Ford should she be responsible of replacing the emergency brake button, since this is a safety issue that you cannot engage the emergency brake or disengage the emergency brake button when parking your vehicle on a hilly driveway or any hill at all. Which I leave in Northern California that is very hill and feel that if my car ever comes disengaged out of 1st gear it would cause serious damages to others, such as crashing into a building or other cars or even a fatality.

MY VEHICLE AND THE SUBJECT OF THIS COMPLAINT IS A 2014 FORD MUSTANG GT. THE DATE OF THE INCIDENT IS APPROXIMATE AS IS THE VEHICLE MILEAGE. I WAS TRAVELING NORTHBOUND ON N BROOKS ST. IN BRAZORIA TX. I WAS IN A SCHOOL ZONE AND MY SPEED WAS 25 MPH. I APPROACHED AN INTERSECTION CONTROLLED BY A BLINKING RED LIGHT AND APPLIED MY BRAKES TO BRING MY VEHICLE TO A STOP. MY VEHICLE DID NOT COME TO A COMPLETE STOP BUT CONTINUED ACROSS THE INTERSECTION IN WHAT I CAN DESCRIBE AS A SLOW JERKING MOTION. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO GULF COAST FORD IN ANGLETON TX ON 5/12/15 AND SPOKE TO THE SERVICE MANAGER. HE DID NOT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE AND SAID HE WOULD DO SOME FURTHER CHECKING AND CALL ME BACK. HE HAS NOT CONTACTED ME. I PLACED A PHONE CALL TO HIM TODAY 5/15/15 AND WAS TOLD HE HAD A GUEST IN HIS OFFICE AND WOULD RETURN MY CALL. TAKATA RECALL I HAVE CALLED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO GET THE AIR BAGS REPLACED AND THEY HAVE PUT ME OFF FOR OVER 2-YEARS. THEY HAVE STATED PARTS HAVE NOT BEEN RECEIVED FOR MY AUTO AND HAVE ADDED US TO THE LIST.

I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW ON MARCH FIRST OF 2014, AND I NOTICED THE PROBLEM NOT TOO LONG AFTER BUYING IT; I ASSUMED IT WAS NORMAL BECAUSE MY PREVIOUS 2007 MUSTANG HAD THE SAME ISSUE. I TOLD SOME FRIENDS WHO SUGGEST I TAKE IT TO FORD. WHEN I WAS DESCRIBING WHAT THE PROBLEM THE SERVICE TECH NEW EXACTLY WHAT IT WAS. THEY HAD A RECALL FOR 2011 TO 2013 MUSTANGS FOR WHAT APPEARS TO BE THE SAME ISSUE. THEY REPAIRED THE LOWER ARM CONTROLS IN THE FRONT. THE ISSUE IS NOW GONE. IT SOUNDS LIKE THE RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO 2014 MODELS. I HAVE A 2014 FORD MUSTANG 3.7L V6 WITH THE PERFORMANCE PACKAGE. THE FOLLOWING EXCERPT IS WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE IS THE SAME PROBLEM ADDRESSED IN A PREVIOUS RECALL. I WAS SHIFTING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE. THE WRENCH ICON CAME ON ON THE DASHBOARD AND THE CAR SHUTTERED. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED IT OFF, LEFT IT OFF FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS AND STARTING IT AGAIN. I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE, CALLED MY HUSBAND AND HE CAME TO FOLLOW ME HOME IN CASE IT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREET. IT DID NOT. ABOUT 4 DAYS LATER I PULLED OUT OF MY GARAGE AND THE WRENCH ICON CAME ON AGAIN AND THE CAR SHUTTERED. I TURNED IT OFF AND PULLED THE CAR INTO THE GARAGE AGAIN. A FEW DAYS LATER I WAS ABLE TO GET IT IN WITH MY MECHANIC. THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT ON THE DIAGNOSTICS AND COULD NOT REPLICATE THE FAULT. I FOUND A LOT ON LINE ABOUT THE THROTTLE BODY PROBLEMS WITH FORD VEHICLES. MY BROTHER HAD THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPEN TO HIS CAR (SAME PROBLEM) AND HE HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THE THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE. THEY TOLD HIM THIS HAPPENS A LOT. AFTER MAKING A RIGHT TURN AND ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC, THE CAR'S ADVANCETRAC LIGHT FLASHED AT ABOUT 40MPH AND THE CAR BEGAN LOSING POWER AND APPLYING THE BRAKES WITHOUT REASON. THE ADVANCETRAC LIGHT CONTINUED TO FLASH AND THE BRAKES AND THROTTLE CONTINUED TO MODULATE AS IF THE CAR WERE SLIDING ON ICE. THIS HAD HAPPENED BEFORE AND ONCE IT HAS STARTED WILL NOT STOP UNTIL THE CAR IS STOPPED AND PLACED INTO PARK. I DROVE APPROXIMATELY 1/2 MILE WITH THIS ISSUE OCCURRING UNTIL I COULD SAFELY PULL OVER. THIS HAS NOW OCCURRED 4 TIMES IN 23000 MILES. EACH TIME THE SAME CIRCUMSTANCES. A TURN FROM A START AND MODERATE ACCELERATION AND THE ISSUE BEGINS BETWEEN 30-40MPH AND LASTS UNTIL THE CAR IS STOPPED AND SHIFTED TO PARK.

THE WHEELS ARE MACHINED IN A NON-STANDARD WAY ON THE BEAD SURFACE AND MOST REPLACEMENT TIRES CANNOT BE SEATED ON THE BEAD OF THE WHEELS. THE OEM WHEELS HAVE MACHINED SLOTS IN THEM NEAR THE BEAD SEATING AREA & THE AIR LEAKS OUT THESE SLOTS WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO SEAT THE BEAD TO INSTALL THE NEW TIRES. THESE WHEELS ARE 18" X 8" SIZE AND CAME ON THE FP6 APPEARANCE PACKAGE WITH MY VEHICLE FROM FORD. I SPENT 2 DAYS AT TIRE STORES WAITING FOR INSTALLATION OF NEW TIRES ON MY CAR. SEVERAL BRANDS OF TIRES WERE TRIED AND MOST WON'T SEAT ON THE BEAD OF THESE WHEELS. ALL OF THE TIRES TRIED ARE THE STOCK OEM SIZE OF 235/50R18. IT APPEARS THAT FORD CHOOSE TO LIGHTEN THE WHEELS BY MACHINING THESE SLOTS IN THEM, BUT THE DOWNSIDE IS THAT YOU CANNOT REPLACE THE TIRES SINCE MOST BRANDS WON'T SEAT ON THE BEAD WHEN BEING INSTALLED. AFTER TRYING SEVERAL SETS OF TIRES, THE TIRE STORE WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET ONE INSTALLED, BUT IT COST ABOUT TWICE WHAT I PLANNED TO SPEND ON THE NEW TIRES.

the following problem happened to me a few years ago (twice within a couple of months) and again, 2 days ago. Each time I was standing at a traffic light when all of a sudden it accelerated at full throttle. I practically stood on the brake pedal, but the car was inching forward, as I put the transmission into park. This was not a subtle situation, it was dangerous. The engine went from idle to screaming within 2 seconds. I ruled out the floor mat as it was in the proper position and snapped into the floor. It did not cause any warning lights to come on. in May, I had the oil changed, at which time they suggested that they clean the throttle body, which they did.They never heard of the above problem.

That could cause the vehicle to roll away or move in an "unexpected direction". "Additionally, the vehicle may roll after the driver selects the 'Park' position. Either scenario increases the risk of a crash or injury." My daughter had several near missed with this safety issue - and when I asked for diagnostics the dealer wanted to charge $ 139.99 plus taxes. I was going up a steep driveway. I made it to the top, then needed to get back down. I put my car in reverse and proceeded to back down the driveway. Suddenly and without warning, my brakes and steering went out. The whole car shut off and the battery light turned on. Not being able to brake or steer, my car rolled down the driveway into a fence before coming to a stop. This caused extensive damage to my vehicle.

TAKATA RECALL - WE HAVE RECEIVED NUMEROUS LETTERS, POSTCARD AND EMAILS ABOUT THE AIRBAG RECALL AND WE HAVE TRIED, UNSUCCESSFULLY NUMEROUS TIMES TO SET UP A DATE AND TIME FOR THE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT WITH OUR DEALERSHIP. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND SPOKE TO SEVERAL PEOPLE TELLING THE ISSUES REPEATEDLY TO EACH PERSON I SPOKE TO. I WAS TRANSFERRED TO THE SERVICE MANAGER I WAS TOLD WHOM DID NOT ANSWER AND I LEFT A VERY DETAILED MESSAGE REGARDING THE REASON FOR MY CALL, THE SPECIFICS OF THE CAR AND MULTIPLE WAYS TO CONTACT MYSELF OR MY FIANCE. I HAVE HAD TO CALL SEVERAL MORE TIMES DIE TO NOT RECEIVING ANY RETURN CALL FROM ANYONE AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR OVER A MONTH. I HAVE LOOKED TO SEE IF I COULD SCHEDULE AND APPOINTMENT ONLINE AND THEY DO NOT HAVE THAT OPTION AVAILABLE. DESPITE MAKING THE DEALERSHIP AWARE OF THIS THEY HAVE FAILED TO TAKE ANY STEPS TO EVEN DETERMINE THE ISSUE. ADDITIONALLY, MY SECURITY SYSTEM ON MY CAR WAS APPARENTLY BYPASSED BY THIEVES AND I HAVE TALKED TO THE TOP BOSS OF THIS DEALERSHIP AND HE HAS INFORMED ME THAT THE SECURITY SYSTEM IS IN FACT DISABLED AND THAT WITHOUT THEM RUNNING A DIAGNOSTICS TEST ON THE CAR THEY CANNOT DETERMINE TO WHAT EXTENT THE SECURITY SYSTEM IS DAMAGED, IF IT IS REPARABLE, OR IF THERE MAY BE MORE SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE COMPUTER / ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. TAKATA RECALL - THIS 2014 MUSTANG HAS APPROXIMATELY 22700 MILES AND HAS BEEN SUBJECT TO THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS. THOUGH FORD HAS NOTIFIED ME THAT AIRBAGS ARE AVAILABLE, I CANNOT GET A DEALER (I'VE BEEN TO TWO) TO INSTALL THE AIRBAG. ADDITIONALLY, THE CAR HAS AN ELECTRICAL FAULT IN THE ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM THAT HAS BEEN NOTED SINCE THE CAR HAD 5000 MILES ON IT. DESPITE MORE THAN FIVE TRIPS TO THE DEALER AND MORE THAN 28 DAYS IN THE SHOP, THE CAR IS STILL UNREPAIRED. THE FORD ENGINEER'S LATEST SPECULATION AS TO THE CAUSE IS A SOFTWARE PROBLEM, WHICH HE ACKNOWLEDGED COULD AFFECT ALL SYSTEMS, INCLUDING BRAKES, THROTTLE CONTROL, LIGHTING, AND THE AIRBAGS TO NAME A FEW. BBB'S AUTOLINE ARBITRATOR AGREED THAT THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND ORDERED FORD TO REPURCHASE THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, FORD DID NOT DO SO WITHIN THE ALLOTTED TIME DUE TO FRIVOLOUS DOCUMENT REQUESTS THAT DELAYED THE PROCESS, AND THEIR REFUSAL TO INSPECT THE CAR ON SITE OR PICK THE CAR UP WITH A WRECKER AT A REASONABLE TIME. I WAS GOING TO WORK AROUND 15:45 WHEN I HAD TO ACCELARATE ON A MOUNTAIN WHILE I WAS ON THE FIFTH GEAR. I GAVE ENOUGH GAZ BUT THE ENGINE DID NOT WANT TO RESPOND. AFTER ARRIVING AT THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN, NOT BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE ON THE 5TH GEAR, I DOWNSHIFTED TO THE 4TH GEAR. SAME RESULT THE ENGINE DID NOT RESPOND. THE ENGINE THEN STALLED, BATTERY LIGHT CAME UP, OIL AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME UP AFTER. THE ROAD WAS TURNING RADICALLY SO I TOLD MYSELF I WILL TRY TO STOP AFTER THE CURVE SO I WONT BE DANGEROUS TO OTHER CARS IN THE CURVE. PROBLEM IS, STEERING BOX FAILED TO FONCTION AND I ALMOST CRASHED IN A LIGHT POST. EVEN WITH MY TWO HANDS FORCING ON THE STEERING WHEEL IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN. I CALLED FORD ROAD ASSISTANCE FOR A TOWING. IT TOOK AROUND 40 MINUTES FOR IT TO ARRIVE. FOR A 12TH FEBRUARY IN QUBEC, IT IS LONG AND COLD TO WAIT IN A CAR 40 MINUTES WITH NO HEATING. TWO DAYS LATER FORD CALLED ME TO TELL ME OIL SMELLED GAZ AND SPARKED PLUGS WERE FINISHED, FOR THEN TELLING ME THE ENGINE IS DONE DUE TO A PISTON. BECAUSE OF A MODIFICATION ON THE ENGINE (A SUPERCHARGE) I AM AWARE THE WARRANTY WILL PROBABLY NOT COVER THE ENGINE, BUT THIS SEEMS TO NOT EXPLAIN WHY THE STEERING BOX FAILED IN WHICH I ALMOST DID AN ACCIDENT.

ON 8/18/16, I WAS DRIVING ON MARYLAND STATE ROUTE 198, AT ABOUT 40 MPH, WHEN THE CAR BEGAN TO LURCH FORWARD, STOP, LURCH FORWARD AS I CAME THROUGH A ROUNDABOUT. I PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER. I TURNED THE CAR OFF, RESTARTED THE CAR, AND WHILE ON THE SHOULDER, I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL, AND AGAIN THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD TWICE AND THEN STOPPED. WRENCH LIGHT WAS LIT UP ON DASHBOARD (IT WASN'T LIT MOMENTS BEFORE) AND WHEN I LOOKED AT THE MANUAL IT SAID THE CAR HAD DEFAULTED TO "LIMP TO HOME" AND I SHOULD SEE THE DEALER. I WAS MORE THAN 40 MILES FROM HOME AND CALLED AAA. IF THIS HAD OCCURRED 10 MINUTES LATER, I WOULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING 55 MPH ON INTERSTATE 295 S AND WOULD HAVE BEEN IN DANGER BECAUSE THAT ROAD HAS NO SHOULDER. THIS CAR BEHAVIOR MIMICKED WHAT I EXPERIENCED OCT. 6, 2015 (LURCHING, DASHBOARD LIGHTS LOOKING LIKE A DISCO BALL), WHEN THE DEALER HAD TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE ASSEMBLY (SERVICE DATE OCT. 7, 2015). HOWEVER, THE DEALER IS NOW TELLING ME IT IS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM WITH THE CAR SHOWING TFT SENSOR, P0710, P0713 CODE READINGS. THIS IS THE THIRD MAJOR REPAIR. ON 11/23/12, THE DEALER REPLACED THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, AFTER I EXPERIENCED AN ISSUE THANKSGIVING DAY WITH ALL DASHBOARD LIGHTS LOOKING LIKE A DISCO BALL AND COULD NOT READ THE SPEEDOMETER TO KNOW HOW FAST I WAS DRIVING WHILE IN BALTIMORE ON INTERSTATE 695. THE CAR IS 4 YEARS OLD AND HAS ABOUT 61,000 MILES ON IT. I BELIEVE ALL THREE INCIDENTS REPRESENT SAFETY ISSUES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE A SMOKE TEST WAS PERFORMED AND THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,400. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

2014 FORD MUSTANG. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ENGINE PROBLEMS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED SHE HEARD A TICKING SOUND, AFTER DRIVING FOR 15 MINUTES. THE DEALER STATED THE ENTIRE LONG BLOCK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER THE LONG BLOCK WAS REPLACED, THE ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING, AND THE ENGINE WAS REVVING HIGHER THAN NORMAL. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATING BY ITSELF IN GEAR AND THERE WERE PRESSURE ISSUES WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE CONSUMERS CONCERN. THE NEXT TIME THE CONSUMER RETURNED TO THE DEALER, THE IGNITION WAS REPLACED. THE RPM'S CONTINUED TO REV, IDLE WAS VERY ROUGH, EVEN WITH THE AC OFF. I HAD A BLOW OUT THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND I COULD NOT STOP IT I ENDED UP HITTING A CURB WHICH ACTUALLY STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND THE TIRE ROD WAS BROKE THE STEERING WAS OUT THE SUSPENSION WAS OUT THE COMPLETE BRAKE SYSTEM WAS OUT I WAS THANKFUL THAT MY CHILD TO JUST BE BRUISED BECAUSE THERE WAS A HOLE ON SIDE OF TIRE BIGGER THAN 1/2 DOLLAR. I WAS TOLD THE TIRES WOULD NOT BLOW OUT (AT DEALER SHIP) AND PAID EXTRA WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR FOR THE PROTECTION. I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE REGARDING THE DAMAGE THE VEHICLE OCCURRED JUST BECAUSE OF A BLOW OUT . THE WOMAN WAS EXTREMELY RUDE AND SAID YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE HIT A CURB ANY EXPERIENCE DRIVERS OUT HERE KNOWS IF YOU HIT A CURB IT DOES NOT CAUSE THIS DAMAGE AND I AM THANKFUL FOR MY INSURANCE AS THEY ARE LOOKING INTO THE VEHICLE AS SERIOUS DEFECTS. I WAS TOLD THAT THE DAMAGE TO THIS VEHICLE HAPPENED AT THE TIME OF THIS SO CALLED BLOW OUT AND THAT IS WHY I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE SO I TRULY BELIEVE THAT WHEN THE DAMAGE OCCURRED TO THE DRIVER SIDE BACK TIRE WAS THE RESULT OF MAYBE A ROD HITTING THE BACK TIRE CAUSING THE BLOW OUT BECAUSE I HAVE DRIVEN A VEHICLE FOR OVER 35 YEARS AND NEVER HAD THIS MUCH DAMAGE NOR THIS MUCH PROBLEM DUE TO A BLOW OUT.
