Have a 2019 Ford Mustang 2DR 2.3L Ecoboost with 59,500 miles which I took to the dealership with a code P0302 and P0304 present, cylinder misfire, observed coolant level low, performed borescope in cylinder 2 and 4, found coolant intrusion, recommend long block engine replacement which would have cost me $10,728.85. Concern is that the engine can stall suddenly and may cause an accident. Ford Motor Company knows about these kind of engine issues with Ecoboost engines and have not offer any reasonable solutions. Vehicle VIN is the following: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Purchased just 2 months ago from ford dealer, after 1 week noticed shimming of engine on cold start, next incident overheat warning, filled with radiator fluid, noticed slow lowering of fluid level, next day car would not start at all. Towed to mechanic in which they report blown head gasket and all 4 cylinders damaged. After searching this site I found others had same complaint but no recalls. Evidently there is a lawsuit, how do I participate so I can get my beautiful car repaired ASAP?

The short drop and bounce up on the drivers and passenger side windows continuously faults and fails to return to the proper position when the door is closed. There are thousand online with the same issue. I am now going to replace the passenger window motor for the third time since I cannot troubleshoot the issue any longer. The dealer has replaced the motor for the same issue and I am now out of warranty so I fix it myself. This seems to be a recurring issue on my car and for others with this generation mustang and should be addressed by Ford at this point Any assistance at this point would be greatly appreciated. Passenger door ajar on dash Then checked and seen door that was once completely closed had in fact unlocked itself and cracked open slightly after rolling over a normal bump on street. No one was in seat at the time but definitely could’ve put Passenger in danger or driver. Thankfully was not on freeway at the time. Problem has occurred 3 times so far in a two week period. Issue will be reported to dealer on the matter no later than 05/26/23 No other personnel has been informed, came to immediately alert nhtsa on the matter.

Since this recall came out I have taken my car to the dealer(Port Orchard Ford, Port Orchard, Wa. 98366) and each time they say they can't do it because it has a super charger. I think it's because they would have to reinstall the super charger program. I've been told that they would be able to reprogram it because they installed it. On the recall notice it doesn't list any exceptions to not doing the recall. XXX XXX REf. Manufacturer Recall Number 22S37 NHTSA Recall Number 22V382 Dated: May 27, 2022

The 10-speed automatic transmission (10R80) in my 2019 Ford Mustang GT began malfunctioning around 84,000–85,000 miles, displaying a consistent hesitation followed by a sudden jolt during acceleration between 15–30 mph. A Ford dealership confirmed the issue and diagnosed it as an internal leak in the clutch drum assembly, referred to as a “CDF drum internal leak.” The vehicle has not shown any warning lights or dashboard messages, and the symptoms developed gradually before becoming consistent. The malfunction causes the car to unexpectedly lurch forward during normal driving, which poses a safety risk to myself and others, particularly in traffic, at intersections, or when merging. This unpredictable behavior could lead to loss of control or rear-end collisions. The transmission remains installed in the vehicle and is available for inspection upon request; however, will be fixing it soon since it is my only car. To date, the vehicle has only been inspected by the dealership and not by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives.

The Back-up camera blanks out; blinks on and off; message says to see the dealer who wants $185 just to diagnose the problem. Is there a recall? and if not it should be. vehicle has 31,000 miles on odometer. Problem has be occurring since June 2025 and is still ongoing.

There is TSB that was issued on the shift forks of the 2018-2019 Ford mustangs where aluminum shift forks were originally installed which led to cracking and breakage. Due to this a TSB was issued reverting back to them using steel. My son purchased a 2019 Ford Mustang with only 9000 miles on it three months ago and this part has broke and no one wants to cover the Repair. This should be covered Repair. There should be a recall.

A vehicle was listed for sale in June 2025 with an odometer reading of 115,152 miles. However, a CarFax report dated March 13, 2025, showed the mileage as 37,707. This is a discrepancy of over 77,000 miles in less than three months, raising serious concerns about odometer tampering or title fraud. The issue was discovered prior to vehicle delivery, and the transaction was canceled. The dealership has not provided any explanation for the mileage increase. This discrepancy may mislead future buyers and compromise the vehicle’s maintenance and safety records. The vehicle was not inspected by a mechanic before cancellation. The concern has been reported to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), California DMV, and CFPB.

We purchased a Ford Mustang for our daughter 6 years ago, and have had the following ongoing dangerous and expensive widespread issue, 6 incidents to date, caused by Ford knowingly using soy based wiring (as opposed to petroleum based) for environmental reasons, that attract rats like it was cheese. The rats have been eating through essential wiring and once in the car also eating hoses and insulation, putting our daughter’s and others lives in grave danger and costing us thousands of dollars in continuous repairs, the last time rats ate through her brakes! (luckily discovered by warning lights in her car before her brakes failed) Ford is very aware of this issue and receive many complaints but do nothing, except refer me to you after I filed a complaint with them. No warranty covers this. Only my neighbors who don't have cars with soy based wiring don't have this issue, showing that this is clearly the cause. In a futile attempt to combat this, we have expensive monthly exterminator rat service, noise makers in her car, glue pads under her car, in her car (removed when driving), spray peppermint and bleach, and check the car daily. (Governor Newsom banned rat poison in Calif making it more challenging) But these expensive and time consuming measures are not full-proof as evidence of our continual costly repairs, and nothing will work until the root cause is addressed, the soy wiring. Ford needs to replace soy based wiring with petroleum based wiring, pay for all rat damage retroactively and future repairs until the soy wiring is replaced. (I have copies of all repair receipts, dating so far from Nov 2019 through April 2025) Just one of many article links in a quick google search that shows this is a widespread issue: "Rodents can’t get enough of Fords soy coated wiring and that’s a big problem!" The contact owns a 2019 Ford Mustang. The contact stated while driving at undisclosed speeds and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended but started decelerating instead. During the failure, the contact would pull over to the side of the road, shift to park, turn off the vehicle, and then wait a while before restarting the vehicle for the vehicle to drive as intended. The failure also occurred while attempting to accelerate while idling. The contact stated that for several months during the failure, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed, and the contact was informed that there was a misfire in cylinders #2 and #3. The dealer reset the computer to remove the code. The contact stated that three days later the check engine warning light was illuminated again. The vehicle was returned to the dealer who detected a misfire in cylinder #1. The spark plugs, crankshaft sensor, and coil packs were replaced. The check engine light was no longer illuminated; however, the failure persisted. The failure became more persistent, and the contact was pulling over to turn off and restart the vehicle more often. The contact had decided not to drive the vehicle due to the consistency of the failure. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the failure was common for similar vehicles. The dealer diagnosed that the head gasket had failed; however, it was not recommended to be replaced due to the failure recurring after the repair was completed. All the lug nuts on my vehicle needed to be replaced due to swelling of the lug nut. The lug nuts were almost impossible to remove. If I would have had a flat tire the tire could not have been removed from the side of the road which is a safety hazard. I had the lug nuts replaced at Friendly Ford in Las Vegas, NV. I was told by the dealership this is a normal problem with the lug nuts Ford is using now. I live in the desert so I am confused how moisture can cause lug nuts to swell when there is very little humidity. This is a known problem for many Ford vehicles why are they allowed to put defective parts on vehicles?

I NOTICED PREMATURE INNER TIRE WEAR ON THE FRONT LEFT TIRE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. THEY VERIFIED THE ALIGNMENT WAS INCORRECT ON MY VEHICLE AND CAUSED THE TIRE DAMAGE BUT WOULD NOT WARRANTY COMPONENTS DUE TO "AFTERMARKET WHEELS AND TIRES" INSTALLED ON THE REAR OF MY VEHICLE. I CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTER. CUSTOMER RELATIONS CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THE DEALERSHIP STATED THE ALIGNMENT WAS CORRECT (DESPITE A PRINT OUT GIVEN TO ME SHOWING IMPROPER ALIGNMENT). CUSTOMER RELATIONS SUGGESTED I TAKE THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER AND INSTALL MY FACTORY WHEELS AND TIRES ON THE VEHICLE. I DID AS SUGGESTED. THE SECOND DEALER CORRECTED MY ALIGNMENT ISSUE AND SUBMITTED A CLAIM FOR TIRE REPLACEMENT. FORD DENIED THE WARRANTY. I CONTACTED THE CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTER AND THEY STATED "MOST COMMONLY THIS IS DUE TO AFTERMARKET PARTS BEING INSTALLED". I REITERATED THAT THERE WAS "AFTERMARKET WHEELS AND TIRES" INSTALLED ON THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE BUT THE FACTORY PARTS WERE RE-INSTALLED DUE TO THEIR SUGGESTIONS. MY CAR CURRENTLY HAS 18,557 MILES ON IT AFTER VISITING 2 DEALERSHIPS WITH NO PREVAIL AND I AM EXPECTED TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO REPLACE TIRES THAT WERE DAMAGED AT NO FAULT OF MY OWN WHILE FORD HIDES BEHIND MODIFIED PARTS THAT ARE IN NO WAY RELATED TO INCORRECT FRONT ALIGNMENT. *TR

My vehicle experienced a blown head gasket due to a faulty engine block design at 56K miles. The car started running rough for 10 seconds upon a cold start up and was also misfiring. This is due to coolant intrusion through the gasket and it got into cylinder 3 which could have caused catastrophic engine failure or worse. There are several class-action lawsuits against Ford for the defect.Ford has not taken any steps to address this issue with the ecoboost engines on 2015-2019 models. Additionally, Ford did NOT provide relief to me and I had to pay out of pocket to fix this.
Jul 31, 2025
My vehicle recently had a head gasket leak due to a faulty engine block design. I noticed one day the coolant was lower than it should be but nothing concerning, over a month or so it got progressively lower & the car would also sputter/misfire on startups from time to time. This is due to coolant slipping through the gasket & getting into the cylinder & oil which can lead to catastrophic engine failure or worse. Eventually I got a check engine light & was told it was a misfire after running a diagnostic on the vehicles OBD2. I researched what the issue could be &it became more & more apparent that it was a head gasket issue. The oil was contaminated & coolant was getting very low. Apparently it’s a big issue since Ford is now facing a class action over the defect. The vehicle also has some issues with the transmission, for example ill start the car up on a cold California morning 50°F & let it warm up before driving & when I go into reverse after the car will jolt hard as if you were backing up & hitting something like a wall, even in the afternoon when you start it from a cold start & go into reverse it will do it. Not sure why but it’s concerning to say the least. The transmission also feels confused when shifting, when I’m in 4th about to push fit it will get confused & revs will drop slightly before going up again to up shift, also when downshifting due to braking the shifts can feel a bit hard, especially when needing to stopping fast. The engine & transmission are the most importantly parts of a vehicle & without them working properly is something no one should have to face.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while shifting from reverse(R) to drive(D) or from park(P) to drive(D), the vehicle jerked before shifting into the intended drive mode. While driving at approximately 50 MPH, the vehicle was shaking abnormally while accelerating. The check engine warning light had illuminated intermittently. The wrench symbol was displayed on the instrument panel, and the vehicle lost power. They waited for a while before restarting the vehicle. The failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that there was a failure with the transmission, but had not determined which part in the transmission had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

When the car is going 70+ MPH the doors will unlatch and open if they are not held shut. This was a recall on earlier models but not the 2019.
Sep 29, 2024
On several occasions, the passenger door becomes unlatched while driving. Sometimes multiple times in one commute. The door doesn't fully open, but certainly allows for wind noise and "DOOR AJAR" display to go off with audible alarms. Also, the passenger window's auto/short drop feature isn't working and the window does not go back up fully, allowing water, insects, and other hazards to enter the cabin of the vehicle. It seems to be an electrical issue, as unplugging the battery with the door open as the window is rolling down automatically will TEMPORARILY fix the issue. But, as soon as the door is opened, or the window is lowered, the issue reappears.

While driving on highways, passenger door will suddenly partially unlatch and open door warning tone and advisory displays on the dash. I must pull over in order to open and reclose the door. First event was several months ago and I assumed it was an isolated event. It has increased in frequency to at least once a week. The door is closed and locked yet it comes partially unlatched and seems to only occur at highway speeds between 60mph and 75mph. Highly distracting when driving on interstate highway and I am unsure if it comes unlatched all the way since I have not had a passenger when this occurs. I am filing this complaint regarding a vehicle I purchased from Florida Fine Cars in Miami Gardens on [XXX}. The vehicle is a Ford Mustang GT with a Roush supercharger (VIN: [XXX] ). Immediately after purchase, the car exhibited serious performance and safety issues that were never disclosed by the dealer. Within hours of driving home, the vehicle showed severe power loss, hesitation during acceleration, and loud mechanical noises at highway speeds. These issues were not detectable during the brief, low-speed test drive the dealership provided. Additionally, by the next morning, the car emitted a strong plastic or chemical odor under the hood, which intensified in the Florida heat — suggesting a possible engine, exhaust, or emissions-related fault. The dealer misrepresented the condition of the vehicle, repeatedly claiming it was “fully inspected” and “in excellent condition.” However, a certified Ford dealership technician later confirmed that the car “ran like garbage” and required immediate diagnostic attention. These defects are potentially safety-related, as they directly affect the engine’s performance, drivability, and emissions integrity. The vehicle could stall, lose power during acceleration, or emit toxic fumes. Florida Fine Cars has refused to take responsibility, despite clear evidence that the car was sold with undisclosed defects. Their actions constitute false advertising, misrepresentation, and a disregard for consumer safety. I urge NHTSA to record this complaint and investigate whether similar vehicles sold by Florida Fine Cars (or others with aftermarket superchargers) have unreported safety or emissions defects. This poses a serious risk to consumer safety and compliance with federal motor vehicle safety standards. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Began over last month with difficulty or rough engine start in mornings Then engine overheated once and continues to lose coolant without visible sign of any leakage. Scan error codes P0300, P 0303, P 0304. Now with excessive steam/smoke out tail pipe when it’s started. Took to mechanic where they verified engine coolant is in atleast, cylinder #3. My safety and that of others is the engine can fail or completely break or explode while driving, causing failure to be able to control vehicle, possibly resulting in a crash or even death.

Additionally, the rear-view camera was inoperable while reversing. The gear indicator failed to display on the instrument panel. The rev-matching feature was also inoperable while downshifting. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V382000 (Power Train). ENGINE,ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
1 complaint
Bought the car for my son August 2. The engine light came on the end of October, the Ford dealer was backed up once they took a look at it in the beginning of November. They told me I needed a whole new engine due to a coolant intrusion problem. Where I bought the car from state it came with a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty but warranty company is not covering that issue. This should be a recall and the engine should be completely covered.

I drive a manual 6 speed mustang gt 2019 the hazard that this vehicle is presenting and have seen many others complain about with a similar isssue that can be lethal causing an accident injury or even death. The mustang is known to have a reverse lockout feature with a collar and a plastic assembly where the shifter is, but it seems as it was poorly designed or poorly assembled as the problem many mustang owners are having ;such as me is that the vehicle will go in to reverse gear without lifting up the collar or in other words without disengaging the reverse lockout so instead of going into first gear it will go into reverse same goes for the second gear. I put the clutch in and put it in first or second gear or even just slightly pushing the shifter towards me and the reverse camera will turn on that is very unsafe and dangerous I recall this being also a dangerous thing for the Shelby gt350 recall number 19B34 it’s not only a issues on those vehicles but also on the mustang 2019 Gt and other years

My name is Michelle Wright and I have purchased Ford vehicles most of my life. I love Ford vehicles and have had amazing experiences with Westlie Ford and Landmark Ford. I purchased my vehicle at Vancouver Ford, which is the most unprofessional and unethical dealership. My story starts October 2021, when I purchased a 2019 Ford Mustang from Vancouver Ford. I paid cash for the vehicle and was provided an AutoCheck, not a Carfax the day I had purchased this car. Over the last 8 months I have had several issues that made think my car was an accident but was assured it was never in an accident. After pulling the Carfax, I realized it was in a wreck and had an accident date of July 2019. This led me to look for an accident report, which was filed by a Portland Police officer on July 23, 2019.

STEERING,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
1 complaint
On 11/27/21 I was driving my 2019 mustang GT convertible with approx 15,000 miles. While going around a curve (not at an excessive speed) on dry pavement, the car became uncontrollable and began to spin out. As much as I tried to brake and steer into the slide, the car became more and more uncontrollable and felt as though it were speeding up. I only came to a stop after slamming into a tree and rolling over to the other side of the road. Vehicle is a total loss. I was lucky and only suffered minor injuries, but it very easily could have been much worse. The police and paramedics who arrived at the scene were expecting a fatality or severe injuries. In the end I was ticketed for failure to reduce speed. I'm losing my mind explaining to the police and insurance that the car sped up on its own and all control of the vehicle were lost. I am in danger of losing my license because of this and no one is believing that this could possibly happen and convinced me to state that I was probably driving too fast. This is a deadly problem. The internet is full of videos demonstrating this same problem: complete loss of control in a low speed turn. Before you ask, I wasn't racing, I wasn't drifting, I wasn't spinning my tires or doing donuts; I was just trying to go home to my kids who almost lost their father. If there is any saved data or physical evidence that needs to be saved, action is needed ASAP before the insurance company scraps it. Also, it should be noted that in the week leading up to the accident, the rear end would become loose when going around corners. I had planned to have it addressed at the next oil change.

ON OCTOBER 20, 2020 I WAS DRIVING MY 2019 FORD MUSTANG 5.0 GT TO WORK. AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, I BEGAN TO SMELL A BURNING PLASTIC ODOR. IT GOT STRONGER SO I PULLED MY CAR OVER ON THE SHOULDER TO INSPECT IT. I GOT OUT AND GOT DOWN ON MY KNEES TO CHECK AROUND MY STEERING COLUMN, UNDER MY DASH AND DRIVER SEAT BUT SAW NOTHING HOWEVER THE ODOR OF BURNING PLASTIC GOT STRONGER. I WENT AROUND TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AND DID THE SAME INSPECTION AS I DID ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. AS I WAS DOING THIS, I LOOKED UP AND SAW SMOKE COMING FROM UP UNDER MY DRIVER'S SEAT. I RAN AROUND TO THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND FIRE WAS COMING UP FROM UNDER THE SEAT AND SHOOTING UP THE BACK OF MY DRIVER'S SEAT. I GRABBED MY PURSE AND WORK BOOKLET, GRABBED MY PHONE AND DIALED 911. THE INSIDE OF MY CAR WAS COMPLETELY ENGULFED IN FLAMES IN LESS THAN 1 MINUTE. TRAFFIC STOPPED ON THE HIGHWAY DUE TO THE SMALL EXPLOSIONS AND FLAMES. FIRE TRUCKS, HIGHWAY PATROL AND SHERIFF'S STARTED SHOWING UP AND A SHORT WHILE LATER THE CAR WAS FINALLY EXTINGUISHED AND TOWED AWAY.*DT*JB*DT*DT*DT

THE CAR WAS PURCHASED LAST NOVEMBER 2019, DURING THE FIRST MONTH, I NOTICED THAT THE ICP WAS NOT PROPERLY WORKING WHILE USING THE GPS- IT GIVES WRONG DIRECTION EVEN THE SETTINGS WERE CORRECTLY SET, LIKE IT WAS REMOTELY CONTROLLED. BESIDES THAT MY BATTERY WAS DISCHARGED THAT I NEEDED TO JUMPSTART IT AND TOWED IT BECAUSE THE 1ST TIME JUMPSTARTING DIDN'T WORK. IT HAPPENED 4X, BROUGHT IT TWICE TO FORD DEALER TO CHECK EVERYTHING WAS OKAY. IT EVEN SEND ME ALARM THRU FORD APP THAT IT WAS PUT ON "SLEEP MODE" EVEN IT WAS PARKED AND IT IS FREQUENTLY USED. NOT ONLY THAT, THE BOTH WINDOWS WERE OPENED WHEN I GOT BACK FROM AN HOUR ERRAND. WITH REGARDS TO THE SEAT BELTS, THERE'S NO WARNING THAT FLASHES ON THE DASHBOARD WHEN NOT IN USED WHILE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DESPITE RIDING WITH SOMEONE. IT IS ALSO LOOSE AFTER REMOVING IT, YOU NEED TO PULL IT MANUALLY TO RETURN TO THE SHORT LENGTH WHEN NOT STRAPPED. THE ENGINE STALLS WHEN SHIFTED FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE, IT NEEDS ABOUT 5-10 SECS TO WORK.

THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED ON 4/27/19 BRAND NEW WITH 3 MILES ON IT. AS I WAS DRIVING ON 4/29/19 IT WAS RAINING AND AS IT BEGAN TO RAIN HARDER, I ADJUSTED THE INTERVAL ON THE WIPER SWITCH TO A HIGHER SPEED AND THE WIPERS SHUT OFF AND DID NOT COME BACK ON. IT CONTINUED TO RAIN AND I MOVED THE SWITCH UP AND DOWN AND NOTHING, THEY WOULDN'T COME BACK ON. I NOTIFIED THE DEALER IMMEDIATELY AND WAS ASKED TO BRING THE CAR IN FOR INSPECTION ON 4/30/19. THEY COULD NOT REPEAT THE PROBLEM AS IT WAS NOT RAINING AT THAT TIME AND TOLD ME TO COME BACK AGAIN IF IT HAPPENS. ON 7/12/19, IT BEGAN TO RAIN AND I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND TURNED THE WIPERS ON AND ONCE AGAIN, AS I TRIED TO TURN UP THE SPEED, THEY SHUT OFF AND DID NOT COME BACK ON. I HAD TO DRIVE 15 MILES ON THE INTERSTATE WITH NON-WORKING WIPERS IN THE RAIN. I RECORDED THE INCIDENT WITH MY PHONE FOR EVIDENCE. TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE SAME SERVICE DEPT AT GAUDIN FORD ON 7/15/19. THE SERVICE DEPT FOREMAN AND TECH LOOKED AT THE VIDEO. IT IS 7/17/19 AND IT IS STILL AT THE DEALER. THEY SAY IT DOESN'T SHOW ANY CODES AND THEY CANT REPEAT THE PROBLEM. WELL IT ISN'T RAINING, SO HOW CAN THEY TEST IT WITHOUT DRIVING THROUGH A CAR WASH OR SOMETHING? I NOTIFIED FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONS ON 7/16/19 OF THE ISSUE AND AM WAITING TO HEAR BACK. AS I STATED, I HAVE VIDEO EVIDENCE OF THIS SAFETY ISSUE AND THEY ARE NOT REPAIRING IT.
