I'm looking to buy this truck from a private sale. If I do, and the recall has not been completed, will the manufacturer still fix it for free?

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Ranger. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V158000 (Air Bags) however, the dealer wanted to charge the contact to complete the repair because the air bag was deployed. The contact stated that prior to the recall appointment, he had a crash with a deer which deployed the driver's side front air bag. The contact stated that he was driving at approximately 20 MPH during the impact. The contact stated that the deer crashed into the passenger side of the vehicle and only cracked the passenger side front headlight. The contact stated that the dealer was unwilling to complete the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 235,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Ranger. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the air bags needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The dealer informed the contact that the system needed to be reset. While driving, the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the air bag module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but provided no additional assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 161,484.

The airbags did not deploy during accident. I was injured. No, the problem was not reproduced or confirmed by dealer or independent service center yet. The vehicle was inspected by police. There were no prior warnings.

Took my 2011 Ford Ranger to the local dealer for the mandatory airbag and knee plate replacement pick up the vehicle they gave me paperwork saying the parts have been replaced happened to be working under the dash yesterday and found that parts were not replaced bolts were missing whether or not they removed anything or not I would doubt it and highly doubt that the airbags were replaced being as the main structural replacement wasn't replaced as the repair order says it was obviously there's a fraud involved here because the dealers claiming they repair the car per a safety recall and didn't or did a half-ass job and replace some parts or not all I don't really know is I'm not taking apart the steering column to get to the airbags but I do know that the knee plate which was should have been replaced and the repair order says was was not which makes me believe nothing was replaced I had issues right from the get-go trying to get this repair done now to find out it was fraud so I am now driving a 2011 Ford Ranger that is most likely as dangerous as it was before the airbags were supposedly replaced this needs to be looked into but I will not go back to that dealer especially after what I found I have paper documentation claiming they did the work but didn't please advise and investigate

The first time the failure occurred, the contact noticed the failure before entering the vehicle. The contact placed the bumper into the bed of his truck and drove to the dealer where he had the bumper re-attached. Despite the repair, the failure occurred again and also discovered that the bumper was only repaired with duct tape. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 77,983.

HI, I BOUGHT MY 2011 FORD RANGER SPORT AT A CAR DEALERSHIP. I HAVE HAD IT FOR 3 YEARS, AND I PAY $340 A MONTH IN PAYMENTS. THE COMPANY THAT SOLD ME THE TRUCK IS NETAUTOMOBILE. IT WAS APPROX $18,000. I STILL OWE A LOT OF MONEY ON THIS TRUCK. I FOUND OUT THAT THE TRUCKS FRAME IS RUSTED BADLY, AND THERE IS NO WAY TO FIX THIS. I TAKE GOOD CARE OF MY TRUCK, AND LOVE TO DRIVE IT. DOOR OPENED WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT DUE TO FAULTY LATCH ASSEMBLY MADE OF PLASTIC. DOOR WAS CLOSED AND THERE WERE NO INDICATORS OF IT BEING AJAR UNTIL IT OPENED AT 35 M.P.H. ON A BUSY ROADWAY.

WE HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH OUR 2011 FORD RANGER SINCE BUYING IT ON 10-24-15. NOTICE IT AFTER ONE DAY AND TOOK IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID IT WAS FINE AND WE WENT BACK ANOTHER TIME TO COMPLAIN AND THEY DIDN'T CARE. THE HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS ONLY WORKS INTERMITTENTLY. MY HUSBAND GOES TO WORK IN THE DARK AND WE LIVE IN A RURAL AREA. THIS ALSO AFFECT US USING TRUCK AT NIGHT. THE TRUCK WAS IN MOTION.

WHEN COMING TO A STOP THE VEHICLE SURGES FORWARD AND I HAVE TO STAND ON THE BRAKES UNTIL THE SURGING STOPS. THIS ONLY HAPPENS ABOUT EVERY 2 TO 3 HUNDRED STOPS. 2011 FORD RANGER COULD BE RELATED TO FORD'S SAFETY RECALL NO. 11C18. : ON 09-06-19, DURING NIGHT TIME, A CO-WORKER FOLLOWING THIS VEHICLE REPORTED TO THE OWNER THAT ALL REAR TAIL LIGHTS; BRAKE LIGHTS, AND EMERGENCY FLASHERS HAVE STOPPED WORKING. ON-09-07- 2019, THE FUSES WERE CHECKED AND APPEAR TO BE GOOD. BACK UP LIGHTS WORK AND ALL DASH LIGHTS AND LIGHTS TO THE VEHICLE FRONT WORK. CLEARLY A COMMON ISSUE BASED ON WEB. IF YOU ARE GOING TO SEND FULL LOAD CURRENT WITH NO CONTROL RELAYS FORCE A HIGHER STANDARD ON DESIGN MARGINS AND AND MTTF. YOU HAVE (4) HEAD LAMPS ON A CAR NO REASON A DESIGN SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO CAUSE ALL (4) TO FAILURE. FORCE MULTIPLE RELAYS, MODULES, AND CONTACTS, WIRING CIRCUITS AND FUSES. ALSO FIX THE BLINDING HEADLIGHT ISSUES. I SEE ALMOST NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LO AND HI BEAMS ON NEW CARS AND SEE SPOTS FOR 30 SECONDS AFTER PASSING CARS ON LO. The spare tire fell off the vehicle, including the hoist, while driving down the road. The frame crossmember holding the hoist is rotted through, with virtually no other rust anywhere else on the body and frame. Yes, you can come see it at any time. I have not bothered taking it to a dealership. Since no property damage occured, I did not call the police. Unable to find a replacement crossmember- this vehicle is now out of service, as only the bumper and bed mounts are holding the rear frame together.

THIS TRUCK ONLY HAS 40K MILES ON IT. PROBLEM STARTED AT ABOUT 30K MILES I DID NOT KNOW THAT THE ISSUE WAS A SWITCH. I JUST THOUGHT THE SHIFTER WAS STICKING. I HAD COMPLAINED OF THIS PROBLEM TO DEALERSHIP BUT IT NEVER WAS BAD WHEN THEY LOOKED AT IT. NOW IT IS GETTING TO POINT OF BEING A PROBLEM. THE TROUBLE LIGHT ONLY COMES ON AFTER TRYING TO PUT TRUCK INTO GEAR, THEN LIGHT STAYS ON FOR RANDOM AMOUNT OF TIME. TRUCK WAS STATIONARY TO BEGIN WITH. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHERE LOCATION IS, IT IS RANDOM TIMING WHEN THIS OCCURS.

DRIVING 40 MPH DOWN CITY STREET, STRAIGHT, THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME, WHICH I HAD 4 CAR LENGTH BETWEEN HIM AND ME, STOP FAST, I PUT ME BRAKES ON AND MY TRUCK WAS NOT RESPONDING. I PUTT BOTH OF MY FEET ON THE BREAK PEDDLE AND IT WENT TO THE FLOOR AND STILL NO RESPOND TO THE BRAKES. WELL, MY TRUCK HIT THE TRUCK IN FRONT AND THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK WAS ALL MESSED UP, NOT ABLE TO DRIVE IT AND TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKING TO THE STREET. AFTER THE TRUCK WAS FIX, THEY TESTED THE BRAKE BY PILLING EACH TRIES OFF CHECK ALL THE SPEC, PULLED THE ROTORS OFF AND APPLIED THE BRAKES TO EACH WHEEL ONE AT A TIME AND RAN THE CALIBERS OUT TO IT LIMITS AND INSTALL THE ROTORS, TIRES AND ROAD TESTED THE BRAKES CHECK OK AT THAT TIME BUT THE BRAKE WERE NOT AT 100% AND WAS STILL WERE SOFT A BIT. I ASK FORD DEALERS TO INSTALL A NEW MASTER CYLINDER AND EACH ONE REFUSED TO DO THAT, WHY, I ASKED? I RECEIVED MANY DIFFERENT ANSWERS, BUT NOT TO WHY THEY WILL NOT WANT TO INSTALL THE MASTER CYLINDER. SO, LEFT IN A AMAZEMENT! MONTHS LATER I HEARD ABOUT A RECALLS ON FORD TRUCK WITH BRAKES PROBLEMS, THEY EXPLAIN THE CONDITION OF THE PROBLEM AND MY TRUCK FIT IT TO THE (T). NOW THE BRAKES IN MY TRUCK IS GETTING SOFTER AND NOT WORKING VERY WELL AT TIMES. YESTERDAY, I MOVE THE TRUCK, I PUT THE BRAKES ON STARTED THE TRUCK AND THE BRAKES WENT TO THE FLOOR AGAIN. SAME THING ALL OVER AGAIN. I AM VERY GLAD, I USED A DIFFERENT CAR. I WAS HURT BUT THE NEXT TIME I MIGHT BE GOING FASTER AND WELL, YOU GET THE PICTURE. HELP SOME ONE PLEASE!!!

AFTER SWERVING AND FISHTAILING, I WAS ABLE TO GET THE TRUCK UNDER CONTROL AND COASTED OFF THE ROAD. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO A FRONT END SPECIALIST AND HE SAID THAT THE BEARING WENT AND DESTROYED THE SPINDLE, THE SENSOR AND THE BRAKES.
