This August will make two years since my airbags deployed. When closing the passenger door, all of the airbags deployed(with the exception of the dashboard). This normal amount of force caused this to happen. I have also read many complaints with the same issue as mine, and a lot of them are not on the recall list. I want to file this complaint to hopefully bring forward a resolution. Also, around the same time, while traveling to another state, my piston rings failed. They collapsed together. I had to have it “fixed” and towed to a near by auto shop. When I got back on the road, another spark plug failed. When I finally got home with my car, I took it to my local dealership. After taking my entire engine apart, they found that my piston rings failed”collapsed together”. This was a hefty bill. After some more research on my car, I found that this is only one reason why this model of Honda was discontinued. There is a malfunction with the engineering. On [XXX] at 01:55 PM MT, I was stopped at a red traffic signal at [XXX] While waiting for the light to turn green to take left, a vehicle insured by GEICO, driven by [XXX] , hit my vehicle from little front and left side of my car (driver's side) when he was trying to take right turn in the [XXX] I was completely stationary and the accident was entirely caused by the other driver. The impact resulted in damages to my vehicle, specifically (front bumper broken completely, front light broken, two doors of driver side damaged completely, driver side mirror bent, difficult to open the two doors of the driver side and getting noises from my car). My concerns is that The airbags of the car didn't work and didn't come out during the accident. I immediately called 911, but they informed me that they could not dispatch an officer since there were no reported injuries. They advised me to get insurance details from the other driver. The contact's daughter owned a 2010 Honda Accord. According to an accident report given to the contact by her local highway patrol office, her daughter was driving at 45 MPH when the vehicle veered off the road and hit a tree. The impact of the vehicle hitting the tree caused the vehicle to catch fire. Based on the accident report, the airbags did not deploy upon impact. the report stated that every bone in her daughter's body was broken; she died as a result of the accident. The report stated that the vehicle burned to it's core and that a specialist had to be called to the scene to identify the vehicle. The contact initially reported her daughter missing and was informed 7 days later about her daughter's accident. The vehicle was towed to an independent tow yard where it was destroyed. The contact called an unknown Honda dealer and they stated that they had never heard of such a failure with that model vehicle; the dealer referred her to the NHTSA for assistance. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

I purchased a 2010 Honda last year. And the engine makes a loud noise. As well as burns through oil. I get an oil change. And at 80% I end up having to purchase 2 quarts and add more oil to the engine. That is not normal.

I WENT TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE ON MY 2010 HONDA ACCORD SEDAN, THE DEALER SAID MY REAR BRAKES NEED TO BE REPLACED. MY FRONT BRAKES WERE FINE AND HAD TWICE AS MUCH PAD LIFE LEFT ON THEM COMPARED TO THE REAR PADS. THE COST WOULD BE $249- TO REPLACE THE REAR PADS. I BOUGHT USED HONDA ACCORD IN 2015. AFTER THAT, I SPENT 2 TIMES TO REPLACE THE BRAKE PADS IN AROUND 30,000 MILES AND 1 TIME I SPENT FOR ROTOR. there is a rattling noise at start up. it started only when the car would sit over night. now its everytime you turn it off. so it seems to be getting worse. found out that its the vtc actuator. not sure if they have issued a recall for this yet.

My wife thought she locked her keys in the car and I got a hanger to try and get in by putting hanger in window and pulling the latch for trunk and then pull the lever to fold down the back seat and then I crawled in from trunk and when I lifted the back seat to look on seat it latched and I was locked in car! I could not open any doors or windows and it was very hot that day and it was even hotter inside the car. I thought I was gonna die! I was trying to yell but nobody was around and my son in law just happen to pull up and I was screaming beating on the window and he heard me and saw me and rushed over and I told him to pull the latch in trunk to open back seat and he found the latch and I was able to crawl out. I thought I was gonna die!! You cannot get out of that car if you are inside and the locks are locked. There was a time not long before that my wife and I went to store and she went in and I was gonna come in after I got done with my phone call I was on and when I tried to open the door it would not open and I had to wait for her to come out of store to unlock the car so I could get out. After this last incident I was so shaken up I didn't know what to do until my brother in law told me to file a complaint before it happens to someone else that might not get lucky like I did and to call an attorney which is what I'm gonna do regardless of what they do about it. I'm a grown adult and could not get out of that car and if that were to happen to a child I don't wanna even think about what would happen and that is why I'm making this complaint so it can be fixed before it happens again if it already hasn't.

I own a 2010 Honda Accord. I was driving on the highway while driving at approximately 60 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle started to shake and failed to operate as needed. I was able to navigate the vehicle off the roadway. The vehicle was towed to a dealership where the vehicle was diagnosed that the piston rings needed to be replaced. I have 59,000 original miles on it! I was told by the service advisor that it was common in Hondas with v6 due to the Ecco or vcm. I found out extended warranty was given to owners, I didn't. I want to know why I didn't and why I never received a recall? I'm not spending $6000 for something that was a terrible design. i traded this vehicle in to AutoNation Acura South Bay in Torrance CA on 1/2/23 and purchased one of theirs. My 2010 Honda trade had 233,566 miles. They failed to forward my vehicle release to DMV and I began receiving parking tkts. I contacted the dealer. They said it was taken care of. I kept getting toll evasions. I contact the dealer again and requested they send me a copy of what they said was sent to DMV. When I reviewed the DMV registration report, I saw the odometer had been rolled back to read 105,266 . That is a difference of 128,300 miles. That is fraud and a extreme safety hazard to that buyer and other drivers.

I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR, EVEN AFTER UNLOCKING THE DOOR. THIS COULD BE AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, SHOULD EMERGENCY RESPONDERS NEED TO GAIN IMMEDIATE ACCESS TO THE CAR AND A PASSENGER WAS UNRESPONSIVE. THE POWER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILED, WHICH CAUSES THE DOOR LOCK TO STAY ENGAGED EVEN AFTER UNLOCKING THE CAR USING THE REMOTE FOB AND USING THE POWER LOCK BUTTON ON THE DOOR. THE ONLY WAY TO UNLOCK THE DOOR IS TO MANUALLY FLIP THE INTERIOR DOOR LOCK SWITCH. THIS IS THE SECOND POWER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR TO FAIL, AND MY CAR HAS LESS THAN 93,000 MILES ON IT. THE POWER DOOR LOCKS SHOULD LAST THE LIFE OF THE CAR, AND DOORS THAT STAY LOCKED ARE AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD. HONDA CHARGES $298, PER ACTUATOR, MAKING COMPLETE REPAIR CLOSE TO $1,200. MY GUESS IS MOST PEOPLE WOULD CHOOSE TO LIVE WITH THE ISSUE RATHER THAN PAY THE HIGH REPAIR COST, BUT THEY DON'T THINK ABOUT WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF THEY ARE UNRESPONSIVE, THE CAR IS IN FLAMES, AND THE DOORS WON'T OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. I SPOKE WITH HONDA CORPORATE ABOUT THE ISSUE, AND THEY PROVIDED NO RESPONSE. THEY JUST SAID "WE DOCUMENT YOUR CALL." VERY FRUSTRATING.

The contact stated that the accelerator was depressed and the vehicle failed to increase in speed. The failure occurred on several occasions. ALL 4 OF MY LOCK ACTUATORS HAVE GONE OUT IN ABOUT A 6 YEAR PERIOD OF TIME. THEY WENT OUT INDIVIDUALLY APPROXIMATELY A YEAR APART. THE PROBLEM STARTED WITHIN THE FIRST 3 YEARS OF OWNING THE CAR AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. HONDA DID COVER THE FIRST BUT REFUSED TO COVER THE OTHER 4. I️ HAD ASKED TO TO HAVE ALL OF THEM REPLACED INITIALLY AND WAS TOLD NO. HONDA OBVIOUSLY BOUGHT A BATCH OF BAD LOCK ACTUATORS. I HAVE OWNED 8 HONDA'S OVER THE LAST 35 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD A SINGLE LOCK ACTUATOR GO OUT IN ANY HONDA I️ HAVE EVER OWNED.

NOTICED ON LINE OTHERS WITH A CROSSTOUR HAS HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM. SHAKING ON FREEWAYS WHEN SLOWDOWN ESPECIALLY. IF I NEED REPLACEMENT-IT SHOULD BE COVERED BUT WHAT IS CAUSING THIS WITHIN A YEAR???? BY THE TIME I REACHED OFFICE I HAD A HINT THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH MY SUNROOF, OR IT IS OPEN. AFTER COMING OUT OF MY CAR IN THE OFFICE PARKING I SAW THIS HUGE HOLE IN THE SUNROOF GLASS. WE WERE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN WE STARTED HEARING A CRACKING NOISE COMING FROM THE SUNROOF. MY BOYFRIEND LOOKED UP TO SEE THE SUNROOF CRACKING. HE QUICKLY CLOSED THE SUNROOF COVER JUST BEFORE THE GLASS SHATTERED. NO CONSTRUCTION VEHICLES OR HEAVY EQUIPMENT WERE IN THE VICINITY. I DROPPED MY CAR OFF AT THE DEALER THE FOLLOWING MORNING WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THE DEALER'S GENERAL MANAGER WOULD TAKE A LOOK AT IT. BEFORE LUNCH, I GOT A CALL FROM THE DEALER THAT HONDA DENIED MY CLAIM FOR A WARRANTY REPAIR, STATING IT WAS ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE. I CONTACTED HONDA AND THE REGIONAL CARE MANAGER STATED THAT IT COULD HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY A SMALL ROCK. I WAS TOLD TO GO THROUGH INSURANCE. I CALLED MY INSURANCE. THEY AGREED IT WAS UNLIKELY THAT IT WAS ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE AND WOULD WANT TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLE TO UNDERSTAND IF THEY SHOULD TRY TO GET MONEY BACK FROM HONDA. I DROPPED MY CAR OFF AT THE GLASS COMPANY. THE COMPANY HAD TO ORDER THE GLASS FROM HONDA AS IT'S NOT REGULAR WINDOW GLASS CARRIED BY THEIR VENDORS. WE SPOKE TO A FEW SERVICE WRITERS AND A SERVICE MANAGER - NONE HAD EVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THAT. THE GLASS COMPANY ALSO SAID THAT THEY NEVER SAW ANYTHING LIKE IT. Drove to Atlanta March 2023 to [XXX] , while driving to Atlanta on 85 I notice that my car was automatically speeding up after braking. I drove to address above pulled into drive way with my foot on the brakes the car a few feet from the garage just accelerated and I had no time to react before it was in the garage hit my niece [XXX] car and her car almost went into the house but the freezer stopped it but destroyed her car garage door and freezer, doorway entrance to the house from garage. Reported Accident to State Farm no police was called. We reported the accident immediately her car was totaled. State Farm policy [XXXXXXXX] there was no warning signals except that I had notice that it was accelerating without my assistance. I AM IN A DILEMMA PERTAINING TO MY 2010 HONDA ACCORD. I LIVE IN CANADA BUT I PURCHASED A DEMO MODEL FROM UNITED STATES. DURING THE LAST FIVE YEARS I HAD FOUR INCIDENTS OF UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WHILE BRAKING. AS I WAS SLOWING DOWN AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS OR STOP SIGN, THE CAR SUDDENLY GOES INTO UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WITH RPM RUNNING OVER 4500. I CONTINUED TO PRESS ON THE BRAKE AND CHANGED THE GEAR TO NEUTRAL. THE CAR CONTINUED TO REV AT HIGH SPEED DESPITE NOT PRESSING ON ANY PEDALS, AND THE ONLY WAY TO STOP IT WAS TO SWITCH OFF THE ENGINE WHILE THE CAR IS IN NEUTRAL AND THEN SWITCH IT ON AGAIN AFTER PUTTING THE CAR IN P GEAR. I AM 100 % CERTAIN THAT THESE INCIDENTS ARE NOT RELATED TO DRIVER ERROR AS IT HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES. I PHONED AMERICAN HONDA AND HONDA CANADA AND BOTH BRUSHED ME OFF AND DENIED EVER HEARING ABOUT IT. THEY ADVISED ME TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER. I have been experiencing serious problems with my 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour. In 2013 there was a lawsuit against Honda due to an oil consumption and it stated ALL 2010 Honda Accord Crosstours and since a recall was never issued Honda denied fixing my car. After a lawsuit Honda should have been court appointed to fix everyone of the million cars with the defective engines!!!! The consumer shouldnt have to replace anything. My car completely shutdown) weeks ago while I was driving major safety issue don’t you think geez will it take people to die before they replace all these defective engines??? Oil is leaking into the combustion chamber and thats a defective problem per manufacturer!!!!!! You need to do an investigation on this because it’s the V-6 J35Z2 that they put in majority of there cars and it’s defective that should be against the law!!!!!!!!! I have had so many repairs on this Honda that shouldn’t have had to be done on a Honda. My last Honda had the engine before this defective one and it was great never had a problem. It’s nit the consumers fault so Honda should have to replace all those engines and it should be the lemon law if being sold after a lawsuit on them and they shouldn’t be abje to sell a defective engine knowingly!!!!! Someone need to step up for the consumer in this matter because warranty can’t even apply when it was defective before anyobe purchased the vehicle.!!!!!!!!! DO SOMETHING

Despite my diligent efforts In maintaining the car with regular tune-ups and oil changes , it is disheartening to witness fluids seeping into the engine, causing damage to multiple components. I have invested a significant amount of money into resolving these issues, expenses that should not have arisen with a Honda vehicle, given my positive experiences with the brand in the past. Upon contacting customer service and receiving a case number, I have found the assistance provided to be inadequate in addressing these issues severity of the situation. The recent revelation of a 2014 lawsuit further compounds my concerns, as it appears that Honda seeks to evade accountability for widespread engine malfunctions, leaving loyal customers like myself in a distressing predicament. Despite the substantial financial outlay exceeding $1200, my vehicle remains inoperable due to the unintended consequences of the oil leakage onto pistons, a situation exacerbated by the lack of proactive measures from Honda in rectifying this critical issue. I have meticulously preserved all documentation, including receipts detailing the damages incurred as a result of the oil consumption defect. While I acknowledge the complexities surrounding warranty coverage and ownership transfer, it is evident that the fundamental flaw lies in the initial design of the engine, which has compromised the vehicles performance and safety. Honda’s reluctance to acknowledge and address this inherent defect reflects poorly on their commitment to customer satisfaction and product This what I emailed to Honda.

I purchased this car in June 2021 for my grandson as high school graduation gift and entrance in college. Driving at a speed of 55 the car tremble uncontrollably and cuts off. I was told that oil leak into the catalytic converters. I had to replace catalytic converters, clean piston, constantly changing spark plugs car misfires, had to replace air conditioner and most of the electrical. What is next. Honda settled a lawsuit March 2014 which this car was apart of it. I wish I would’ve know before I purchased this car. That class action lawsuit needs to be reopened.

THIS WAS ESPECIALLY ALARMING NEWS BECAUSE, MY VEHICLE IS ONLY SIX YEARS OLD AND I'VE ONLY HAVE HONDA TO SERVICE IT. ALSO, IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT THE FOLLOWING MAINTENANCE IS PERFORMED: TIMING BELT REPLACEMENT $565.39; CLUTCH ASSEMBLY $2,019.86; SPARK PLUGS REPLACEMENT $209.52 AND SYN POWER (EFI SERVICE/FUEL INJECTION CLEANING SERVICE $159.95,WHICH BRINGS MY OUT OF POCKET COSTS TO $15,327.59.

I had my oil changed last month on the 17th at plaza tire in Malden Missouri.. I check my oil frequently. I checked it the 15th of this month an it showed no oil on the dipstick an I couldn't believe it to be honest because no indicators popped up or nothing I don't understand how thats possible

PURCHASED A 2010 HONDA IN JANUARY 2010. WE EXPERIENCED EXCESSIVE OIL USAGE AND YELLOW WARNING LIGHT ON INTERMITTENTLY. WE REQUESTED AN OIL CHANGE AT 4,500 MILES AND WERE TOLD NOT TO CHANGE THE FIRST OIL UNTIL THE OIL LIFE SHOWED 15%. WHILE TRAVELING, AT APPROXIMATELY 7,500 MILES, THE VEHICLE OIL LIFE INDICATOR SHOWED ABOUT 40% USE ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE HAD NO OIL SHOWING ON THE DIPSTICK. THE EXHAUST PIPES WERE BLACKENED. OIL WAS ADDED AND WE WERE TOLD THERE COULD BE ENGINE DAMAGE. IT SHEARED AND THERE WAS NO WARNING WHEN IT HAPPENED. IT WASN'T HIT OR UNDER EXTREME STRAIN. I AM HIGHLY CONCERENED THIS MAY BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE FOR OTHERS IN THE FUTURE. 235/45R18 94S M+S I originally purchased these tires because they were rated #2 on top 10 anti-hydroplaning lists. After receiving the tires I realized the anti-hydroplaning characteristics are due to an unusually deep tire tread. After driving them a bit I realized that the tire compound had excessive lack of grip on lightly wet surfaces and often on dry surfaces. So they may be good for anti-hydroplaning as long as the tree depth is deep, but the worst traction for dry or slightly wet surfaces for ANY tire I have ever driven. Going down slight downhills with a turn is extremely dangerous even at slow speeds. This morning I was going down a short street with a slight grade and a turn at the bottom when the car failed to turn and continued straight (like on ice). These tires (same on my wife's Mazda) have had traction problems since we bought and installed them. My wife's Mazda won't go up hills with turns on dry pavement and at slow speeds without losing traction. All tires on both vehicles have decent tread depth. This is a dangerous driving condition on uphill/w turns and especially on downhill/w turns. I believe the NTSB should do an investigation into car accident deaths occurring on graded hills with turns at the top or bottom of the inclinations. The tire in suspect is the Firestone Winterforce 2 tire. Please investigate this to possibly save lives. And if a high accident rate is found please have these tires recalled.

Vehicle caught on fire while parked. Firefighter stated that this was the “third or fourth” of the same make and model he has dealt with. A google search stated that this year make and model had recalls for fires in Florida and other states. I had searched the vin for recalls prior to this happening to ensure this vehicle was safe and there were no recalls associated with the vin.

While backing out of my garage, my daughter observed flames coming out from the front center of the hood. I then put the car into park, and we got out of the car. I opened the hood, and observed smoke coming out of the alternator, and flames coming from the lower engine area. I then went into my garage to get my fire extinguisher, and put out the flames. I then phoned a towing service to transport my 2010 Honda Accord to the Mobil Station at 12 mile and Farmington Roads where I normally have my Honda serviced. I then telephoned my mechanic at the Mobil station to let him know that the two truck would deliver my car to him shortly. My mechanic then recommended replacing the alternator and started, which I agreed to. The next repair was to replace the engine wiring in my Honda Accord, which did not repair the vehicle. After 8-9 days, could not repair my 2010 Honda Accord, On October 8, 2024 my neighbor and I visited Suburban Honda in Farmington Hills, and were told to contact Honda America to open a case, which we did. After phoning 800-999-1009, and sharing the details of the engine compartment fire, an official Honda case [XXX] was opened to document the engine fire in my 2010 Honda Accord. MY VEHICLE ENGINE RPM'S RAISES AS MUCH AS 500 TO 700 MORE THAN IDLE, WHEN MOVING AT SLOW SPEEDS OF 10 MPH OR STOPPED. HAD IT CHECKED BY SUNNY KING HONDA IN OXFORD ALABAMA, THEY SAID IT COULD BE THE PCM WHICH IS UNDER RECALL FOR THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE FOR ONES MADE PRIOR TO SEPT 2010. I BOUGHT A HONDA ON QUITE A FEW REFERRALS BECAUSE THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE SOLID CARS THAT LAST. UNTIL A FEW MONTHS AGO WHEN THE ENGINE AND TRACTION LIGHTS WOULD GO ON FOR A FEW DAYS THEN OFF, THEN BACK ON, THEN OF AGAIN. THE FINAL TIME THEY WENT ON THEY WERE BLINKING AND MY CAR WAS ACTING VERY SLUGGISH, IT WAS NOT GETTING A LOT OF POWER SO I TOOK IT IN TO A HONDA DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. I BOUGHT MY CAR NEW IN 2010 HONDA ACCORD 4 CYLINDER. I HAD BEEN TAKING MY CAR TO GET THE OIL CHANGED ON A REGULAR BASIS TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP. SINCE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR, MY CAR STARTED MAKING NOISE SO IT TOOK IT TO DEALER TO CHECK THE REASON. HE TOLD THAT ME THAT MY CAR IS OUT OF OIL EVEN THOUGH INDICATOR SAY OIL LEVEL IS 70% AND THAT IS THE REASON FOR IT'S MAKING SOUND. HE TOLD ME THAT HE COULD NOT DETECT THE ISSUE AND BRING IT ONE MORE TIME. HE TEMPORARILY FIXED THE ISSUE BY FILLING THE OIL. IT AGAIN HAPPENED AFTER A MONTH AND HE AGAIN FILLED IN OIL BUT HE CHARGED ME THIS TIME FOR FILLING THE OIL. HE SAID THAT WE WILL NEED TO DO "OIL CONSUMPTION" TEST AS HE DOESN'T SEE ANY LEAKAGE EITHER. THIS IS REALLY SCARY TO ME WHEN I SEE THAT THERE IS ALREADY CLASS SUIT AGAINST HONDA FOR THE SAME REASON BUT THAT'S APPLICABLE FOR 6 CYLINDERS ENGINE AND NOT FOR 4 CYLINDERS. WHEN I ASKED THE DEALER ABOUT IT, HE SIMPLY DENIED ANY LAWSUIT OR CLASS ACTION OR RECALL FOR ACCORD 2010. IT'S DEFECT IN A CAR BUT NEITHER HONDA ACCEPT IT OR DEALER AGREES TO IT. WHILE DRIVING MY CAR, I RE-POSITIONED THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR SO THAT IT WOULD COVER THE DRIVERE SIDE WINDOW. DURING THE RE-POSITION, THE VISOR DETACHED ITSELF FROM THE CAR. I HAD TO HUNCH DOWN FOR THE REMAINDER OF MY COMMUTE IN ORDER TO HAVE FULL VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING. ONCE PARKED, I WAS ABLE TO WORK WITH THE VISOR FOR SEVERAL MINUTES TO GET IT BACK INTO THE SOCKET. THE VISOR CANNOT BE PIVOTED TO THE LEFT DRIVER SIDE, IT FALLS EVERY TIME.THE VISOR CAN ONLY REMAIN PARKED OR UNFOLDED WITHOUT DETACHING ITSELF FROM THE CAR. TECHNICIAN SAID THEY NOTICE EXCESS CONSUMPTION AT THE PREVIOUS CHANGE, BUT THOUGHT IT WAS A FLUKE. SINCE THEN, HONDA HAS HAD ME RECORDING MILEAGE AND OIL LEVELS. AFTER NEARLY 8,000 MILES I HAD ENOUGH EVIDENCE FOR THEM TO DO A SOFTWARE UPDATE....WHICH DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. ONE THOUSAND MILES AFTER THE MOST RECENT OIL CHANGE, I HAD TO ADD 1/2 QUART. Electronic Throttle Actuator, Gas Pedal Assembly Failed. As i accelerated the gas pedal failed in the position against the firewall and could not be pulled up. The vehicle increased speed on its own and brakes did not work. The spedd continued to increase. I had the vehicle towed to Cardinal Honda 860-449-0411 in Groton Connecticut. Polise were on sight on the highway after i pulled over in Neutral. No other way to stop the car. The car in in the shop and awaiting the new part. There was not indication in the dash panel that the Electronic Throttle Actuator needed to be looked at. It was a sudden failure.

This past week I experienced a catastrophic malfunction with the vehicle, while driving it appeared to short circuit and shut down. It would not allow me to drive in any gear whatsoever. Upon taking it to a mechanic at Jiffy Lube he stated the incident is identical and experienced the same issues that Honda and the Dept of Transportation deemed a recall that could have ended in severe injury or death. That issue and recall being (see below) Powertrain:Auto Transmission Control Module (TCM,PCM). You see the mechanic at Jiffy Lube referred me to this recall due to his analysis and diagnosis being the same. Whom stated that the vin doesn't state a recall, but it being the exact same model, make, engine, year, and coupled with the fact that it has TCM and PCM catastrophic damage, I was subjected to and encountered. 1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The engine piston rings failed or malfunctioned. These parts were previously replaced under a Honda recall in 2018 due to excessive oil consumption. The same issue has returned — the vehicle is again burning oil. The engine and related components remain available for inspection upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The excessive oil consumption can cause low engine oil levels, which may lead to engine damage or stalling while driving. A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of an accident, especially at highway speeds or in traffic. Additionally, the burning oil produces smoke that can obstruct visibility for the driver and nearby vehicles. im scared it might damager my life or the life of others. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The issue was confirmed by a Honda dealership, which verified that the vehicle is consuming excessive oil. However, they stated that the vehicle is no longer covered under warranty, despite the same issue being repaired under the 2018 recall. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? Yes. The Honda dealership (manufacturer’s authorized representative) inspected the vehicle and confirmed the oil consumption problem. It has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes. The vehicle displayed low oil level warnings, and I had to add oil between scheduled oil changes. These symptoms reappeared around 2021, approximately three years after the piston rings were replaced under the recall.

The car for the longest time makes a screech at first start and sometimes at other times. Also the steering is off center and wheel turns left and right when brakes applied and when going over bumps. I had steering and shocks and struts replaced and adjusted as well as alignments done problems still there. I had those parts replaced due to originally having problems with handling. I took car back to adjust twice still have problem. The noise is still there at start too. Not safe.

The contact owns a 2010 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormally loud sound coming from the engine. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with a power train, catalytic converter, and anti-lock braking system (ABS) failure. The vehicle was then taken to another mechanic and diagnosed with a power train and bearing wear failure. The contact was informed that the power train needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 11V395000 (Power Train) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 129,000.

THE DEALERSHIP DELETED THE CODE AND SAID IT WASN'T A CODE IN THERE. WILL NOT DO ANYTHING. I HAD IT READ BEFORE I TOOK IT THERE AND HAVE A PICTURE OF IT. THE PAINT HAS BEEN CHIPPING OFF FOR OVER A YEAR, NOT WHERE ROCKS HIT. PLACES THAT ARE CURVED OR ROUNDED. EDGES OF THE ROOF OR FENDER. IT'S ONLY 6 YEARS OLD. THE PAST TWO TIMES I HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE OIL LEVEL IS BELOW THE DIPSTICK. BOTH TIMES I HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE WITH 20% OIL LIFE SHOWING. SHIFTING FROM 2ND TO 3RD SOMETIMES GETS "BLOCKED". THAT IS THE ONLY WAY I CAN DESCRIBE IT, YOU GO TO SHIFT AND CANT GET INTO GEAR, EITHER HAVE TO GO BACK TO 2ND OR BACK TO NEUTRAL AND THEN BACK IN. THE "DOUBLE PUMP SHIFT" USUALLY WORKS. THE LIGHT WENT OUT AFTER DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MILES. I THEN MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR AN OIL CHANGE, HOWEVER THE DEALERSHIP WAS CLOSED FOR THE MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY AND RESCHEDULED FOR TOMORROW (3 DAYS LATER). THE LIGHT HAS SINCE COME BACK ON; I AGAIN CHECKED THE OIL AND HAD TO ADD 2 QUARTS OF 0W20 SYNTHETIC OIL. ONCE AGAIN, THE CAR IS SLUGGISH AND HAS A NEW SYMPTOM OF KNOCKING WHEN ACCELERATING. I WILL HAVE IT TOWED IN THE MORNING FOR THE SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE TO ENSURE NOTHING IS DAMAGED. I HAVE DONE ADDITIONAL RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT I HAD RECEIVED NOTIFICATION FROM HONDA LAST YEAR IN REFERENCE TO A CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT FOR SERVICE BULLETIN (#11-033) THAT ADDRESSED EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION FROM A "SYSTEMATIC DESIGN DEFECT THAT ENABLES OIL TO ENTER INTO THE ENGINE'S COMBUSTION CHAMBER. THIS LEADS TO PREMATURE SPARK PLUG DEGRADATION AND ENGINE MALFUNCTION." HOPEFULLY, THE DEALERSHIP WILL REPAIR THE DEFECT ONCE AND FOR ALL.

HIGHWAY SPEED VIBRATION AT VARIOUS INTENSITIES, MOSTLY AT SPEEDS OVER 60. CAR SHAKES AND VIBRATES. HONDA DEALERSHIP EVALUATED SITUATION AND NOTED NO PROBLEMS WITH SUSPENSION, REPLACED FRONT AND SIDE MOTOR MOUNTS WITHOUT SOLVING PROBLEM. FACTORY TECH STATED THESE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN EVALUATED AS "BAD TIRES". CAR HAD PROBLEM WITH PRIOR TIRES AND CURRENT TIRES HAD LESS THAN 2,000 MILES ON THEM. TIRES WERE REBALANCED, ALIGNED AND ROTATED - NO IMPROVEMENT. SAME PROBLEM WITH SECOND CAR (SAME MAKE/MODEL 2008). INTERNET SEARCHING INDICATES THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH 2008 THROUGH AT LEAST 2012 VEHICLES. DEALER TRIED TO TEST THE TIRE ISSUE BY SWAPPING TIRES FROM ANOTHER USED VEHICLE ON THE LOT. THEY TEST DROVE 3 VEHICLES TO FIND ONE BUT ALL THREE HAD THE SAME VIBRATION ISSUE. I THINK THERE IS A DESIGN ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL AND THE PROBLEM IS BEING IGNORED BY HONDA (MUST BE A HUGE ISSUE AND/OR A VERY EXPENSIVE FIX). I HAVE SEEN STATEMENTS THAT THIS IS A "CHARACTERISTIC OF THIS VEHICLE" AND NOTED OTHER SIMILAR EXPLANATIONS. IN MY MIND THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. 2010 HONDA ACCORD. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE BRAKES *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED FIVE MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKES FAILED. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR AN INSPECTION, AND THE DEALER STATED BRAKES WERE CONSIDERED WEAR AND TEAR. IT WAS NEVER MENTIONED TO THE CONSUMER, THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE BRAKES. HONDA DENIED THE CONSUMER'S REQUEST FOR REIMBURSEMENT, DUE TO THE CLAIM WAS POSTMARKED AFTER THE CLAIM FILING DEADLINE OF EITHER NOVEMBER 29, 2010 OR 90 DAYS AFTER THE LISTED DATE OF THE REPAIR, WHICHEVER WAS LATER. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING ANY SPEED, ROCKS WOULD ENTER THE GRILL AND DAMAGE VARIOUS COMPONENTS OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CONDENSER FOR THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE FROM STOPS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND ENGINE MOUNTS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. I OWN A 2010 HONDA ACCORD V6. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR ONE YEAR. THE MILEAGE IS JUST OVER 18,000 MILES. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR INSPECTION ON YESTERDAY AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP, THEY INFORMED ME THAT MY REAR BRAKES WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED WITHIN THE NEXT THREE MONTHS. I HAVE OWNED HONDAS EVERY SINCE 1989 AND PREMATURE BRAKE WEAR HAS NEVER OCCURRED WITH ANY OF THE HONDA THAT I HAVE OWNED. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I CAN DO TO GET SOME TYPE OF RESOLUTION FOR THIS PROBLEM. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE YOUR BRAKES ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN A CAR. ALSO, THIS CAR HAS A FAULTY FRONT BUMPER. IT IS ATTACHED TO THE CAR BY SNAPS. HEARD WHINE, LOUD AND CONSISTENT ON STARTUP AND THE WHINE INTENSIFIES AS THE ENGINE WARMS WITH DRIVING. DEALER REPLACED POWER STEERING PUMP ON MY THIRD TRIP TO HONDA SERVICE.NOISE CONTINUES EVEN LOUDER WITH NEW PUMP. A RETURN TRIP TO HONDA DEALER I WAS TOLD IT IS A NOISE CHARACTERISTIC OF THIS MODEL. THE NERVE RACKING WHINE IS DEADENED ONLY WITH THE RADIO VOL. TURNED UP. TWO OTHER PROBLEMS CREATE VERY STRESSFUL DRIVING CONDITIONS. UNABLE TO GET THE LOCK MECHANISM TO ENGAGE TO START THE CAR. MY MOTHER HAS BEEN LEFT STRANDED FIVE TIMES DUE TO LOCK MECHANISM SEIZING AND HER BEING UNABLE TO START CAR. SHE HAS CALLED THE HONDA SERVICE DEPT. TWICE AND THEY RECOMMENDED PULLING HARD ON STEERING WHEEL (TOWARD CHEST OF DRIVER). THEY OBVIOUSLY KNEW TO RECOMMEND THIS REMEDY. BUT MY MOTHER IS 90 POUNDS AND FRAIL. IT TOOK STRONG MALES (STRANGERS IN A PARKING LOT,MOST RECENTLY WHILE IT WAS SNOWING) TO PULL THE STEERING WHEEL OUT TO AFFECT THE REMEDY SO THE CAR WOULD START. HONDA HAS NOT OFFERED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND TRIES TO BLAME HER FOR "LEANING ON THE STEERING WHEEL" AS SHE EXITS THE VEHICLE. 90 POUNDS??? SHE WENT LATER TO HAVE THE AIR CHECKED IN HER TIRES BECAUSE OF THE LOW PRESSURE WARNING (REMEMBER, SHE IS RECENTLY WIDOWED WITH NO KNOWLEDGE OF CARS AND HER CHILDREN ARE HOURS AWAY) AND THEY MAD HER WAIT 1 HOUR FOR THIS. NOW THAT I DRIVE THE CAR EVERYDAY TO WORK, ABOUT A 45 MINUTE COMMUTE EACH WAY, ITS OBVIOUS THERE MUST BE SOME KIND OF DESIGN FLAW. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,100. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,800.

I BOUGHT A NEW 2010 HONDA ACCORD AT MARIN HONDA IN LARKSPUR, CALIFORNIA ON SUNDAY 1/31/2010. BUT I DID NOT PICK UP THE CAR UNTIL MONDAY 2/1/2010 BECAUSE THE CAR WAS "NOT PREPARED" ON SUNDAY EVENING. I DROVE THE CAR HOME FROM THE DEALER IN THE AFTERNOON ON 2/1/2010 AND I BEGAN TO NOTICE A RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM THE HOOD ON DRIVER SIDE. I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER ON TUESDAY MORNING WHERE A MECHANIC SUGGESTED THAT THE NOISE MAYBE COMING FROM THE DEFECTIVE HOUSING UNIT OF THE WINDSHIELD WIPER. THE MECHANIC ORDERED THE NEW PART BUT IT WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL NEXT WEEK. THE NOISE HAS BEEN PERSISTENT AND GETTING STRONGER/LOUDER WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND WHEN THE CAR IS IDLING AT INTERSECTION. THE STEERING WHEEL ALSO APPEARED TO SHAKE WHENEVER THIS LOUD RATTLING NOISE CAME OUT. I AM AFRAID THAT THIS PROBLEM MAYBE MORE THAT JUST A DEFECTIVE HOUSING PART OF THE WINDSHIELD WIPER, HENCE I AM REPORTING THIS TO ASSURE THAT ELECTRICAL PROBLEM OR BRAKES PROBLEM ARE NOT THE ISSUE FOR HONDA (IN LIEU OF WHAT IS GOING ON WITH TOYOTA CARS AT THE PRESENT TIME). PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAD SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FOR THE NEW MODEL HONDA ACCORD. I HAD BEEN A LOYAL CUSTOMER OF HONDA BUT THIS INCIDENCE IS MAKING ME VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR QUALITY ASSURANCE SERVICE BEFORE RELEASING NEW CARS INTO THE MARKET.
