The drivers side curtain airbag and drivers side seat belt retention airbag deployed while driving without an impact/collision. It is available for inspection. The airbags deploying while driving blocked my vision and was a completely terrifying distraction. I brought the car to my local Honda dealership for inspection and they confirmed the airbags were deployed without an impact. Honda refuses to give me the inspection report. There were no warning lights or symptoms.

THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A VEHICLE ACCIDENT BACK IN OCT 2023. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.

On [XXX], my daughter rear-ended a stopped vehicle while trying to merge. She was driving approximately 60-70mph at the time of impact. The front end of her car was completely smashed and the insurance company deemed it a total loss. Despite the force and speed at impact, her airbags did not deploy. She hit her head on the steering wheel, causing a concussion. She continues to suffer from the effects of the concussion. She is under the car of a neurologist and chiropractor. I contacted Honda to report this on 10.3.2023 and was told to "wait by the phone" because someone would be calling me back immediately as it was a high priority case. The case number is [XXX]. No one has called me. I called back on 10.6.2023 to notify them that the car insurance company was taking possession of the car and was told to take pictures. The contact owns a 2011 Honda Accord Crosstour. The contact stated that the electrical seat adjuster on the driver’s seat failed to operate without warning. Due to the failure, the contact was unable to adjust the driver seat to the appropriate setting to ensure safe driving. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the teeth on plastic gear attached to the motor had worn off which rendered the button to adjust the seat useless. The contact also discovered TSB (19-034) which he linked to the failure. The contact spoke with a mechanic at a local dealer who offered no assistance and referred him to the manufacturer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and promised the contact a call back. The contact had yet to hear from the manufacturer. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

No accident occurred!, seats are extremely uncomfortable and is causing me back pains when sitting for long periods of time, I can imagine in a collision these seats would be very unsafe to a persons body, they’re so stiff if would be like getting pressed against a wall if hit hard enough, it’s time Honda FIXES this problem!

THE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINTS MOVED INTO THE FORWARD POSITION FOR NO APPARENT REASON (I.E., THERE WAS NO REAR COLLISION). IT HAPPENED FIRST WITH THE DRIVER'S SEAT AND SEPARATELY, AT SOME LATER POINT, WITH THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT. THE RESTRAINTS WERE SUPPOSED TO AUTOMATICALLY MOVE BACK TO THEIR NORMAL POSITION (ACCORDING TO THE OWNER'S MANUAL), BUT THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN - THEY REMAINED LOCKED IN THE FORWARD POSITION. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO SCHAUMBURG HONDA IN ILLINOIS AND THE TECHNICIAN SAID THAT THE SEAT FRAMES SHOULD BE REPLACED. HE SAID THE PROBLEM INDICATED THAT THE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINTS MIGHT FAIL TO WORK PROPERLY IN A COLLISION. I DECIDED TO REPORT THIS BECAUSE IT COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE FOR OTHER DRIVERS WITH SIMILAR HONDA MODELS/SEAT FRAMES.

I AM HAVING MAJOR LOW BACK AND TAIL BONE PAIN FROM THE FRONT SEATS. I HAVE A HARD TIME EVEN DRIVING 15 MILES TO WORK. THE SEAT ISSUES MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO TRAVEL FAR DISTANCES AND I NEED TO RENT A CAR. I DRIVE A LOT FOR MY JOB, SO I'M IN THE CAR MOST OF THE DAY. THE PAIN AND DISCOMFORT ARE IN EVERY POSITION THE SEAT CAN GO. THERE IS NO RELIEF.

THE 2011 HONDA ACCORD IS EXCELLENT CAR BUT THE SEATS ARE INCREDIBLY A NIGHTMARE. THE SEATS ARE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE IN FACT I HAD TO SEEK THE HELP OF A CHIROPRACTOR. YOU CANNOT DRIVE THE CAR 3 MILES BEFORE YOU START FEELING NECK PAINS, SHOULDERS AND UPPER BACK. HEAD REST AND THE SEAT CURVES MAKES ONE MORE MISERABLE ON THE WHEELS. I HOPE SOMETHING WILL BE DONE TO HELP THIS SAD NEWS.

The contact stated that the vehicle was vibrating and was losing motive power. The contact drove the vehicle back to the residence and later had the vehicle towed to a local independent mechanic. The contact stated that the mechanic diagnosed the vehicle, and the contact was informed that the piston rings needed to be cleaned. The mechanic replaced the spark plugs as well. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to a Class Action Lawsuit regarding the piston rings fouling the spark plugs and causing poor engine performance. Both the passenger and driver side CV axles have a rubber vibration isolator mounted in the center of each drive axle. The rubber is cracking and showing rust heave underneath, The attachment method has deteriorated and the rubber damper is trapping moisture and salt that have seeped underneath. This has caused significant corrosion to the steel axle thereby weakening the axle and creating a safety hazard due to potential breakage. Neither axle has broken yet, but there are currently recalls on other model year Honda Accords for the same issue.

This issue is related to Honda TSB issued for faulty VTC actuator . My car makes a loud grinding sound when started from cold everyday. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2016/SB-10087883-2280.pdf I sent a email to Honda support on June 8th 2021, asking if this issue will cause catastrophic engine failure while driving (case id : 12274491) and can cause serious bodily injury? I never received a response. I sent a followup email on June 17th 2021 and still no response. My only worry is that this issue is so much widespread that all Accords manufactured between 2008 - 2012 are affected. Serious quality control issue. What if my car suddenly stops in the middle of a busy highway..what if Engine completely seized, break apart, due to damage happening over the period of time? I believe that Honda understand all these issues and not willing to respond over email, to avoid legal liability. With this complain i would like NHTSA to get a official statement from Honda on seriousness of this issue and if its a safety issue (if not fixed), it should fall under Recall.

IT SEEMS THAT HONDA HAD FULL KNOWLEDGE OF THE ISSUE WITH VTC ACTUATORS FOR YEARS 2008-2013 BEING DEFECTIVE YET WILL NOT ISSUE A RECALL. THEY HAVE PUT OUT NUMEROUS SERVICE BULLETINS REGARDING THE ISSUE. THEY JUST RECENTLY CAME IT WITH A REPLACEMENT PIECE FOR THE DEFECTIVES BUT YOU ARE REQUIRED TO PAY FOR IT YOURSELF. THEY SHOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THESE AT THEIR EXPENSE.

I WAS GIVEN THE RUN AROUND FOR THE LAST 7 YEARS. I COMPLAINED IT WAS A DEFECT FROM THE BEGINNING. FINALLY THE CAR STARTED TO MAKE RATTLING SOUNDS. I TOOK IT IN AND WAS TOLD I HAD AN OIL LEAK. I WAS FURIOUS AND TOLD THEM THAT IT IS THAT SAME [XXX] PROBLEM I HAD FOR 7 YEARS. MY CAR HAS 80000 MILES. THE DEALER THAN TOLD ME I NEEDED TO CHANGE TRANS OIL. I BEEN BRINGING IN MY CAR FOR MAINTENANCE FOR THE LAST 7 YEARS AND NEVER DID ANYONE TELL ME ABOUT OIL LEAKS AND TRANS OIL ISSUES. If the ball joints were previously replaced, then replace both front knuckle assemblies. *How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Faulty defective front lower ball joints installed on the vehicle that is considered a safety risk according to the certified Honda service tech that inspected the vehicle. Certified Honda service technician advised ball joints could separate from the front knuckle allowing the suspension to separate from the wheel while vehicle is in motion that could result in potential injury or possible death. Safety of others may be at risk due to other owners may not be aware of the TSB bulletin and vehicle may not reproduce noise or problems due to internal/external factors. *Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, confirmed by Honda certified service technician. *Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Vehicle was first inspected by Pep boys (could not duplicate the noise and visual inspection passed. Took the vehicle to Honda service for second opinion. Service technician followed TSB procedures to duplicate the confirmed noise and diagnose the problem was related to the TSB bulletin provided by Honda. *Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warnings, messages or symptoms identified unless the vehicle is in motion during extremely hot temperatures. Visual confirmation fails due to component failure inside the defective part. Vehicle does not always duplicate the noise unless proper conditions are available.

The contact owns a 2011 Honda Accord equipped with Bridgestone Tires, Tire Line: Ecopia EP422 Plus, Tire Size: 235/45/R18, DOT Number: BANOO3767. The contact stated that the tire dealer had previously replaced the driver's and passenger's side front tires due to bubbles along the sidewall. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle drove over a manhole cover, causing the passenger's side front rim to cut the tire and cause a blowout. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the passenger's side front tire was not replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.

ON 11/25/15, I PURCHASED TWO GOODYEAR 225/50R17, 94V SL ASSUR COMTFD TOURING TIRES (M740KH1R1815). THE TIRES WERE INSTALLED ON A 2011 HONDA ACCORD WITH 54556 MILES. ON 8/9/17 BOTH TIRES WERE REPLACED AT A DISCOUNTED PRICE BECAUSE OF DEFECTS. MILEAGE ON THE CAR IS NOW 78445. SIGNIFICANT CRACKS HAD DEVELOPED IN THE SIDE WALL OF ONE OF THE TIRES AND MINOR CRACKS WERE SHOWING ON THE OTHER SUGGESTIVE OF THE SAME PROBLEM. THE WORST CRACKS WERE 4 TO 5 INCHES IN LENGTH AND POSED A DANGER OF SUDDEN HIGHWAY FAILURE. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I'VE SEEN SUCH DEFECTS IN TIRES IN 50 PLUS YEARS OF DRIVING. THE FACT BOTH TIRES SHOWED SIMILAR DEFECTS RAISES QUESTIONS AS TO THE POSSIBILITY OF A MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT MAY INVOLVE AN ENTIRE PRODUCTION BATCH OR SOMETHING LARGER. The engine on the Honda Accord car shudders and loses power when there is a change in gears. Based on my research and after consultation with my mechanic, the Honda Odyssey had similar problems. The problem was traced to the torque converter. Supposedly Honda had to implement a software fix for the torque converter on those Odyssey's.

DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE THERE WAS A LOUD EXPLOSION. I LOOKED IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR AND SAW THE GLASS FROM THE SUNROOF FLYING OFF INTO THE ROAD. THE TRUCK BEHIND ME HAD TO SWERVE TO MISS THE DEBRIS. WE WERE IN AN OPEN AREA - NO BRIDGES OR OVERPASSES. WE STOPPED, LOOKED AT THE DAMAGE, TURNED AROUND AT THE NEXT EXIT AND CAME BACK TO LOOK AT THE ROAD. THERE WAS NO DEBRIS, JUST PIECES OF GLASS IN THE ROAD. THERE WERE NO OTHER CHIPS OR NICKS ON THE CAR BODY. I HAD HAND WASHED THE CAR THE DAY BEFORE AND THERE WERE NO CHIPS IN THE SUNROOF. HONDA DEALER REFUSED TO COVER UNDER WARRANTY, ALTHOUGH THEY HAD SEEN THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO AN ODYSSEY. THEY COULD NOT EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THIS COULD HAPPEN. ABOUT 2/3 THIRDS OF THE SUNROOF BROKE OFF. LUCKILY WE HAD THE COVER DOOR CLOSED OR WE COULD HAVE BEEN HIT WITH BROKEN GLASS. MY SUNROOF EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE WITH APPROXIMATELY 1/3 OF THE WINDOW BLOWING OUT WHILE IT WAS FULLY CLOSED. I WAS DRIVING ON AN ELEVATED INTERSTATE WITHOUT ANY CARS AROUND ME. WE PURCHASED A HONDA ACCORD A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO. RECENTLY THE AIR CONDITIONING HAS FAILED AND WE WERE TOLD BY THE HONDA DEALER THAT "A ROCK PROBABLY DAMAGED THE CONDENSER" AS THEY FOUND A LEAK. THEY REFUSE TO COVER IT UNDER WARRANTY. THEY QUOTED US A REPAIR COST OF $841.88. UPON INSPECTION WE FOUND THAT THERE IS NO PROTECTION PROVIDED TO THE CONDENSER TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING. I have a 2011 Honda Accord V6 coupe. At approximately 11:39 hours on 8/15/2023 my car lost all steering and brakes and spun violently multiple times across the highway. Thankfully the car did not impact another vehicle and ended up on the side of the road in soft sand. A scan tool revealed a trouble code for a failing or fault within the VSA modulator. This module controls both the brake system and stability control in one unit. At the time of the above aforementioned incident 2 warning lights were on the dash for the following: ABS and Stability control. The Arizona Department of Public Safety responded to the incident. I file this complaint because the safety of other drivers and myself were placed in serious jeopardy.

The contact owns a 2011 Honda Accord. The contact stated that after the vehicle was started, he shifted into drive(D) and depressed the accelerator pedal; however, the vehicle hesitated to respond. The contact stated that upon accelerating, the vehicle independently decelerated at slow speeds. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that he used a code reader to diagnose the vehicle and retrieved two unknown codes for a faulty manifold air pressure sensor and mass air flow sensor. Additionally, the contact stated that he performed a tune-up and routine maintenance on the vehicle however, the failure recurred. The check engine warning light illuminated again after the tune-up. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that TSB 13-078 Warranty Extension had expired. The failure mileage was approximately 135,500.

WHEN MOVING AT VERY SLOW SPEEDS, SAY AROUND 2-4 MPH, THERE SOMETIMES IS A FLAT SPOT, IE NO ACCELERATION WHEN STEPPING ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. , AT THIS POINT THERE SEEMS TO BE A 2 TO 3 SECOND HESITATION BEFORE THE CARE SUDDENLY ACCELERATES AND LURCHES FORWARD. SOMETIME, WHEN THIS SITUATION OCCURS, NOTHING HAPPENS WHEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR; THEN THE ACCELERATOR MUST BE COMPLETELY RELEASED AND PRESSED AGAIN, OR PUMPED, TO GET MOVING AND AT SOME POINT POWER SUDDENLY RETURNS AND THE CAR LURCHES FORWARD. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO OCCUR MOST OFTEN WHEN MAKING A TURN, AND IT IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN AS YOU ARE SITTING ALMOST MOTIONLESS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LEFT LANE AND ONCOMING TRAFFIC IS COMING AT YOU AND USUALLY MOVING ALONG BRISKLY. MY VEHICLE, WHEN IN THIS PREDICAMENT, HAS NOT YET BEEN HIT BY AN ONCOMING CAR, BUT THERE HAVE BEEN SOME CLOSE CALLS. MY CAR HAS A STEERING SHIMMY AND VIBRATION PROBLEM THAT BEGAN AS MILD AND IS NOW SEVERE AND VIBRATES THE ENTIRE VEHICLE. HONDA BALANCED MY TIRES SEVERAL TIMES, THEN REPLACED ALL 4 MICHELIN PILOT TIRES WITH 4 NEW ONES. THOSE HAD TO BE REPEATEDLY BALANCED AND THEN WERE REPLACED A 2ND TIME IN LESS THAN 1,000 MILES. THE 2ND SET WAS REPEATEDLY BALANCED WITH NO RESULTS. BOTH FRONT AXLES WERE REPLACED AND BOTH FRONT ROTORS WERE REPLACED WITH THE VIBRATION NEVER CHANGING. HONDA'S AREA REP AGREED TO REPLACE WHEELS AND TIRES WITH AFTER MARKET BBS WHEELS AND BRIDGESTONE SERENITY TIRES TO RULE OUT WHEEL AND TIRE PROBLEMS. PROBLEM DID NOT CHANGE AND HAS NOW GOTTEN WORSE AS THE MILEAGE INCREASES. (9K MILES NOW). YOU CAN GOOGLE 2011 HONDA ACCORD SHIMMY PROBLEM AND SEE THAT THE PROBLEM IS WIDESPREAD IN THE USA AND CANADA, BUT HONDA USA IS TELLING ME THAT I AM THE ONLY ONE. I HAVE BOUGHT 4 BRAND NEW ACCORD EXL V6 CARS IN 8 YEARS, HAVE LOVED THESE CARS, AND AM VERY SURPRISED THAT HONDA IS FLAT OUT LYING TO ME. WIFE WAS DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED WHEN CAR BEGAN TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE AS IF ENGINE WAS MISFIRING. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, THEN SEVERELY REDUCED POWER. SHE WAS BARELY ABLE TO EXIT AND MAKE IT ACROSS THE ACCESS ROAD AND INTO A TURN LANE WITH THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR. CAR STILL SHOOK VIOLENTLY AS SHE PLACED IT IN PARK. DEALERSHIP CANNOT EXPLAIN SHAKING. CAR ONLY HAS 4,700 MILES AND WAS PURCHASED NEW FROM SERVICING DEALER. THEY SAID OIL WAS 1.5-2 QUARTS LOW SO THEY TOPPED IT OFF. TRIPPED A CODE FOR A STUCK SOLENOID IN THE CAMSHAFT TIMING SYSTEM SO THEY REPROGRAMMED THE PCM AND GAVE THE CAR BACK TO US. THIS WAS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION AS MY WIFE DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH POWER TO MOVE THE VEHICLE OUT OF TRAFFIC. HAD THERE BEEN MORE TRAFFIC IN HER WAY OR SOMEONE FOLLOWING CLOSELY, SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. DEALER WAS STILL PUZZLED AS TO THE POWER LOSS AND SHAKING AND JUST SHRUGGED THEIR SHOULDERS. THEY SAID TO WATCH THE OIL LEVEL AND IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN TO BRING IT BACK.
