THEY SAID THAT THEY NOTIFIED YOU AND I PERSONALLY HAVE SENT PAPERWORK. I REFUSE TO SEND MORE AND WOULD LIKE TO BE TAKEN OFF THE LIST. I WILL NOW BE DESTROYING THIS MAILING AND WILL NOT OPEN ANY MORE. TAKATA RECALL!!!!! FIRST IT WAS DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG AFTER SEPARATELY PAYING $700 TO GET MPG BACK TO SPEC. AIRBAG: ENTERED DEALER GETTING 33 MPG, LEFT GETTING 28MPG. SAME THING HAPPENED WHEN A REPAIR SHOP DID MY EMISSIONS TEST. A FRIEND GOT MPG AGAIN BACK TO SPEC 33 CHARGED $125 (NOT $700). NOW HONDA WANTS TO FIX THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG!!! WANTED $1000 TO REPLACE A DEFECTIVE WINDSHIELD WITH A NEW DEFECTIVE WINDSHIELD. GOOGLE SEARCH THE GUY WHO GOT FOUR OF THEM!!! SAFELITE CHARGED ~$450. SEVERAL PEOPLE SAID NOTHING IS "FREE" ABOUT RECALLS, AND I DO NOT WANT HONDA TOUCHING MY CAR!!! I HAVE COMMUNICATED, THAT I WANT SOMEONE I CAN TRUST TO DO THE AIRBAG, TO AT LEAST 5 HONDA REPRESENTATIVES AND THEIR RESPONSE IS ALWAYS THE SAME: SILENCE! ... AND THEN MORE SCREAMING RED MAIL!!!! THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

I HAD ONCE OWN THIS VEHICLE IN WHICH I WAS MAKING PAYMENTS. I HAD SLID ON ICE AND SNOW ONE YEAR AND WENT INTO A DITCH AND HIT A MAIL BOX WHICH WAS ATTACHED TO A POST. THERE WAS DAMAGE UNDERNEATH AS WELL AS A LITTLE DAMAGE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE AIR BAG NEVER DID DEPLOY AND I RECENTLY HAD A NOTICE IN THE MAIL THAT THE VEHICLE MAY BE LISTED HAVING A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG

On 1/29/22 in Dayton OH, I was stopped and turning left out onto the road. I accelerated lightly and the left axel broke in the middle of the turn. The car was stopped in the middle of two lanes. I was able to get help and push the car back in the business driveway by keeping it in neutral. The car would make repetitive clicking sounds if I left it in park. I had it towed. Repair shop fixed issue. It was the left front axel shaft that broke. My car has about 130,000 miles on it and is a 2010 Honda Fit. It is available for inspection. I am so thankful that I wasn't on a high speed road as a car could have collided into me when I was turning left because the axle broke before I could get fully into one lane. If I had been moving at higher speeds, I definitely would have gotten in an accident. There were no warning indicators before the incident. I regularly serviced the vehicle.

THE CONTACT CALLED FRIENDLY HONDA (1143 DUTCHESS TURNPIKE, POUGHKEEPSIE, NY 12603) WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

I HAD COME TO A STOP SIGN ON A CITY STREET IN XENIA, OHIO AND WHEN I APPLIED THE GAS TO PULL OUT I HEARD A CLUNK AND THE CAR DIDN'T MOVE FORWARD BUT THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RUN NORMALLY. I SURMISED SOMETHING WENT WRONG WITH THE POWER TRAIN. I CALLED AAA AND THEY THOUGHT THE SAME, THE TOW DRIVER HAVING BEEN A MECHANIC FOR MANY YEARS SAID BROKEN DRIVE SHAFTS ON HONDAS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM. IT WAS TOWED TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP IN BEAVERCREEK, OH AND IT WAS FOUND THE LEFT SIDE DRIVE SHAFT HAD BROKEN AND NEEDED REPLACED. ARE BROKEN DRIVE SHAFTS COMMON ON HONDAS? I HAVE ATTACHED THE REPAIR BILL.

Just purchased the car and it suffers from "Memory Steer". After a turn, the steering does not return to neutral, but the steering wheel requires input to straighten out. Alignment, Strut Bearings and Ball Joints checked OK, suggesting the binding is in the steering column, Steering Rack or perhaps the Electric Power Steering. The problem occurs at all speeds.

While driving, the steering wheel intermittently locks up or loses power making control of the vehicle extremely difficult while driving straight and near impossible when it happens while turning.

THE CONTACT CALLED FIRST TEXAS HONDA LOCATED AT (3400 STECK AVE, AUSTIN, TX 78757 (512) 220-1121) WHERE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,397. THE VIN WAS INVALID.

STEERING WHEEL HAS BEEN SUDDENLY, AND INTERMITTENTLY, TURNING IMMEDIATELY 90 DEGREES WHERE I HAVE TO CORRECT THE WHEEL IN ORDER TO AVOID A CRASH. TYPICALLY HAPPENS ON SLIGHT TURNS, LIKE GETTING ON OR OFF A HWY RAMP OR TURNING ON A RED LIGHT. GOODYEAR TIRE SAID THEY ARE SEEING ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE POWER STEERING AND INFORMED ME THIS ISN'T A DRIVABLE CAR UNLESS $2400 REPAIR. THE SUDDENNESS OF THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN DEATH, ESPECIALLY AT THE SPEED.

THE STEERING WHEEL INTERMITTENTLY FREEZES UP, FOR ABOUT A SECOND, AT LEAST ONCE EVERY DAY THAT I DRIVE THE CAR. NO INDICATOR LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD TURN ON DURING OR AFTER THESE EVENTS. SEVERAL TIMES IT HAS BEEN NOTICED WHILE MAKING TURNS, WHICH IS VERY UNSETTLING. I NO LONGER TRUST THE VEHICLE'S SAFETY, AND NOW FEEL THE NEED TO LEAVE A VERY LARGE DISTANCE WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN IN FRONT OF ANY ONCOMING CAR. I WILL NOT ALLOW MY WIFE TO DRIVE THE CAR ANY MORE, FOR FEAR OF HER SAFETY. I HAVE HEARD THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR AN EPS FAILURE FOR HONDA FITS OF PREVIOUS MODEL YEARS, AND WANT TO KNOW WHEN THE RECALL FOR THIS LIFE THREATENING DEFECT WILL BE EXTENDED TO THE 2010 MODEL YEAR.

ENGINE WIRING WAS CHEWED AND HEAVILY DAMAGED BY RODENTS. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE ENGINE BAY IS EASILY ACCESABLE FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR, THERE IS NO SHEILDING. I ALSO READ THAT ON THIS PATICULAR MODEL THE WIRING INSULATION IS SOY BASED, POSSIBLY ATTRACTING RODENTS TO SAID EAT WIRING.

WE PURCHASED A NEW 2010 HONDA FIT FROM DAVID MCDAVID HONDA IN IRVING, TEXAS. WE HAVE THE CAR SERVICED AT DAVID MCDAVID HONDA IN IRVING ALSO. WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE KEY LOCKS ON THIS CAR. THE FIRST FAILURE OCCURRED AT 37746 MILES. THE KEY WOULD GO ABOUT HALF WAY INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE LOCK AND THEN WOULD JAM. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LOCK CYLINDER. (SEE ATTACHMENT ONE TO THIS LETTER FOR THE DEALER INVOICE). AT APPROXIMATELY 54000 MILES THE SECOND FAILURE OCCURRED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE LOCK. THE CIRCUMSTANCES WERE SIMILAR TO EARLIER FAILURE. I CALLED MY DAVID MCDAVID ADVISOR TO SEE WHETHER THE LOCK CYLINDER WAS STILL IN WARRANTY. HE TOLD ME THAT SINCE 12 MONTHS AND 12,000 MILES HAD PASSED THAT I HAD NO WARRANTY ON THE PART. I THEN WENT TO CAR TOYS LOCATED IN IRVING TO SEE WHETHER THEY COULD PUT A KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM IN THE HONDA FIT. AFTER THEIR POSITIVE ASSURANCE, I HAD THEIR SYSTEM PUT IN THE CAR. (SEE ATTACHMENT TWO TO THIS LETTER FOR CAR TOYS INVOICE DATED SEPTEMBER 10, 2018). ON JUNE 27, 2019, MY WIFE WENT TO STORE AND WHEN SHE RETURNED TO THE CAR, THE KEY WOULD ONLY GO HALF WAY INTO THE IGNITION AND THEN JAM. I WENT TO WHERE THE CAR WAS LOCATED AND TRIED TO GET THE KEY TO WORK. I HAD NO LUCK AND AFTER DISCUSSING WITH ADVISOR AT DAVID MCDAVID HONDA IN IRVING, I HIRED A WRECKER TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. MILEAGE ON THE CAR WAS 59439. (SEE ATTACHMENT THREE TO THIS LETTER FOR THE DEALER INVOICE). TAKATA RECALL MY HONDA 2010 FIT IS METALLIC BLUE AND THE PAINT IS FADING. THE ENTIRE ROOF IS WHITE. LARGE WHITE SPOTS ON THE HOOD AND NOW FADING MARKS ON THE SIDE OF THE CAR. IT IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD AND IN EXCELLENT SHAPE. A 5 YEAR OLD CAR AND IT LOOKS 15 YEARS OLD. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP HAS NOT AGREED AT THIS TIME TO PAY FOR A FULL REPAINT JOB. THEY HAVE AGREED TO PAY 70% OF THE TOTAL BILLFOR THE ROOF AND HOOD OF THE CAR. MY CONCERN IS THAT THEY WILL REPAINT THE ROOF AND HOOD AND NOT THE BACK AND SIDES AND THEN THEY WILL FADE. I ALSO WILL NEED TO RENT A CAR WHILE THEY ARE REPAIRING THE PAINT. THIS WILL BRING MY TOTAL CLOSE TO $500.00. THIS IS NOT MY FAULT AND I BELIEVE A PAINT JOB SHOULD LAST MORE THAN 5 YEARS. WHEN I LOOK AROUND A PARKING LOT AND SEE CARS OLDER THAN MINE WITH A PERFECT PAINT JOB I GET FRUSTRATED. THIS IS NOT RIGHT.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.

PARKED AT A MALL. DRIVER'S DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. AFTER MANY EFFORTS I MANAGED TO GET FRONT PASSENGER DOOR OPEN. KEY WOULD NOT UNLOCK DOOR FROM OUTSIDE. FOR 2 DAYS WHILE WAITING FOR APPOINTMENT AT DEALERSHIP HAD TO LEAVE UNLOCKED AND USE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR. DEALERSHIP "FOUND DOOR LATCH FAULTY." TOTAL COST OVER $800.00. HAS BEEN REPLACED.

MY ISSUE IS WITH THE QUICKLY DEGRADING PAINT JOB ON MY VEHICLE. I HAVE DONE NOTHING DIFFERENT FROM ANY OTHER CAR I HAVE OWNED, AND I AM PARKED IN AN APARTMENT COMPLEX PARKING LOT WHERE ALL OF MY NEIGHBORS CARS ARE NOT HAVING ANY ISSUES. THE ONLY CAR IN THE PARKING LOT WITH PAINT DEGRADATION COMPARABLE TO MY CAR IS A BLUE 1999 HONDA CIVIC, BUT IT LOOKS MUCH BETTER THAN MY '10 FIT. JUST TO REITERATE, WE ARE PARKED IN THE SAME PARKING LOT WITH THE SAME AMOUNT OF SUN AND ELEMENTAL EXPOSURE. AFTER LOOKING TO SEE IF MY VIN WAS LISTED UNDER CURRENT HONDA CAMPAIGNS, I HAVE FOUND THAT IT IS NOT LISTED. HOWEVER, A FRIEND POINTED OUT AN ONGOING CAMPAIGN FOR 2006-2013 CIVICS WITH EXTENDED PAINT WARRANTIES. THE CIVICS INCLUDED ARE ALL IN THE DARK BLUE OR BLACK COLOR FAMILY, WHICH IS THE SAME AS MY FIT. I LOOKED UP PHOTOS OF THE PAINT DEGRADATION ON THESE CIVICS, AND NOT ONLY ARE THE PAINT COLORS ALMOST EXACTLY THE SAME, BUT THE DEGRADATION IS IN THE SAME AREAS AS THAT OF MY FIT. THE ROOF AND HOOD ARE THE TWO BIGGEST PROBLEM AREAS, AND THE CAMPAIGN LISTS ROOF, TRUNK, HOOD, UPPER PORTION OF THE DOORS, AND UPPER PORTIONS OF THE QUARTER PANELS. THE DEGRADATION DESCRIBED ON THE CIVICS IS A CHALKY OR CLOUDY APPEARANCE, EXACTLY THE SAME AS MY CAR'S CURRENT APPEARANCE. NOW, JUST TO SUM THINGS UP: 1. MY CAR IS IN THE YEAR RANGE OF THE CAMPAIGNED CIVICS. 2. MY CAR IS THE SAME PAINT COLOR FAMILY AS THE CAMPAIGNED CIVICS. 3. MY CAR HAS THE SAME AREAS OF DEGRADATION AS THE CAMPAIGNED CIVICS, INCLUDING THE HOOD, THE ROOF, AND THE UPPER PORTIONS OF THE DOORS. 4. MY CAR HAS THE EXACT SAME TYPE OF CHALKY, CLOUDY, OXIDIZED DEGRADATION AS THE CAMPAIGNED CIVICS. 5. I AM NOT THE ONLY HONDA FIT OWNER WITH THIS PROBLEM. IT IS WELL DOCUMENTED ONLINE. 6. MY CAR STARTED DEGRADING WELL INSIDE THE 7 YEAR EXTENDED PAINT WARRANTY PERIOD GIVEN TO OWNERS OF THE CAMPAIGNED CIVICS.

CLEAR COAT AND PAINT ON THE HONDA FIT ARE DEFECTIVE. PEELING BEGAN AFTER ABOUT 3 1/2 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP. THERE ARE LARGE PATCHES OF MISSING PAINT ON THE ROOF AND A PATCH ON THE HOOD.

I PURCHASED HONDA FIT AND DROVE IT HOME TO REALIZE THAT I HAVE TO EITHER DRIVE WITHOUT A HEAD RESTRAINT AND COMPROMISE MY SAFETY OR NOT BE ABLE TO DRIVE FOR MORE THAN 20 MINUTES A DAY. THE HEAD REST PUSHES MY HEAD FORWARD AND STRAINS MY NECK TO THE POINT THAT I EITHER HAVE TO SIT UPRIGHT AWAY FROM THE SEAT OR STRETCH MY NECK FAR OUT IN PAIN. EITHER WAY IT IS NOT SAFE, WHETHER IN CASE OF ACCIDENT OR GENERALLY FOR MY HEALTH. I RAN GOOGLE SEARCH FOR HONDA HEAD REST COMPLAINTS AND FOUND OUT THAT CUSTOMERS HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT HONDA'S NEW HEAD RESTS FOR THE SAME VERY REASON SINCE 2007, FOR MOST OF THEIR MODELS - FROM ACCORD AND ODYSSEY TO FIT. WHAT MAKES THE MATTER WORSE IS THAT YOU CANNOT REVERSE THE HEADREST AS THERE ARE GROOVES ONLY ON ONE OF THE TWO SUPPORT POLES. BY MAKING HEAD RESTRAINT EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE TO USE, HONDA IS FORCING ITS CUSTOMERS TO DRIVE UNSAFELY, SPECIFICALLY WITHOUT HEAD RESTRAINT. I SPOKE TO SERVICE MANAGER AT MY DEALER AND HE TOLD ME THAT HONDA DOES NOT HAVE ADJUSTABLE OR REVERSIBLE HEAD RESTRAINT. HE IS ALSO AWARE OF THE COMPLAINTS FROM THE CUSTOMERS. I HAVE A 2010 HONDA FIT SPORT AUTOMATIC, PURCHASED NEW. While driving on the highway, my 2010 Honda Fit Sport automatic with 134,000 miles going around 60 mph lost power and started making sputtering noise. Fortunately, there was still some power left, and I was able to navigate to the shoulder of the highway. I turned off the car and turned It back on again and the Check Engine Light came on. I plugged in my BlueDriver diagnostic tool and it says Cylinder 2 Misfire. When I placed it in Drive, the car was making sputtering noise from the Engine Bay Area and would not accelerate, leaving me stranded on the side of the highway. I was lucky enough to maneuver the limping car in the middle of rush hours to the side of the highway. It's a miracle I didn't get into an accident, as the car lost power and was not accelerating properly. The mechanic did a diagnostic and said that Cylinder 2 spark plug blew, commonly due to the plugs coming loose, damaging the spark plug and ignition coil on cylinder 2. I searched the internet and found that other 2nd generation Honda Fit ('09-'13) owners also had spark plugs that came from the factory/ tightened to factory specification to only come loose again. I could have died or have gotten into a serious accident. Because of this horror story and being stuck on the highway for 4 hours, I will unfortunately never buy a Honda again, a brand that was supposed to be reliable.

IT WAS REPLACED, BUT WAS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY BY JIM WHITE HONDA IN MAUMEE OHIO.. LESS THAN 4 WEEKS LATER AT APPROXIMATELY 16846 MILES ON JULY 13 2013 THE TPMS LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. IT WAS REPLACED AND WAS COVERED BY WARRANTY BY HOLMAN HONDA OF FORT LAUDERDALE FLORIDA. THESE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORS ARE REQUIRED BY LAW. HAVING TWO DIFFERENT TIRES FAIL WITHIN WEEKS OF EACH OTHER AT SUCH LOW MILEAGE ON A CAR THAT IS RARELY AND CAREFULLY DRIVEN IS A CLEAR INDICATION OF SOME SORT OF DEFECT. I WAS DRIVING MY 2010 HONDA FIT SPORT AUTOMATIC AT 25MPH ON A CITY STREET, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF, ALL DASHBOARD INDICATOR LIGHTS AND HEADLIGHTS WENT COMPLETELY DARK; I PULLED THE CAR OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, NOTICING THAT POWER STEERING AND BRAKE ASSIST WERE INACTIVE SO IT WAS A CHALLENGE TO GET THE CAR PULLED OVER. THE VEHICLE RE-STARTED ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND GAVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO ME WITH NO REPAIR WORK DONE. 9 DAYS LATER, THE SAME THING HAPPENED. THIS TIME THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF, DASHBOARD WENT DARK, AND MY IPOD WAS FROZEN, WHICH WAS CONNECTED THROUGH THE USB PORT(IT WAS NOT CONNECTED DURING THE FIRST STALL). THE ENGINE DID NOT START ON THE FIRST OR SECOND ATTEMPT, BUT ON THE THIRD. ONCE THE VEHICLE STARTED, I TRIED TO SHIFT FROM PARK TO DRIVE, BUT THE SHIFTER WAS STUCK AND WOULD NOT SHIFT. I PUT ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS, AND SPENT ABOUT 60 SECONDS TRYING TO SHIFT FROM PARK TO DRIVE BEFORE IT ACTUALLY BECAME UNSTUCK AND ALLOWED ME TO SHIFT. On [XXX], I Down payment for the purchase of a 2010 Honda Fit, for $6,258.00 with 24 Ford of Easton, 703 Washington St., South Easton, MA 02375. License Motor Dealer , On [XXX], the TMPS dashboard light was on...Ford replaced them, but as presently ([XXX]) light is still on, they told me TMPS would go off after I drove car around. April 19, 2025, Last TMPS sensor was put on a 4th tire, I was in the car repair area and noticed a broken Sway Bar Link and a Bubble & Cracks on tire, Ford noticed it but did not offer to fix it and let me drive off dealership lot with broken Sway Bar and bad tire. It was negligent, and UNSAFE TO DRIVE. 30 day Lemon Law Ended on [XXX]. Also, there was a RECALL FOR A DRIVESHAFT, WHICH I FOUND OUT VIA THE INTERNET. On May 13, 2025 I went to a Honda Dealership and they replaced the DRIVESHAFT. I went to AXP Repair Shop to get SWAY BAR LINK fixed, and a new tire, which cost me $250.00. 24 Ford did not inspect my car until March 14, 2025 after they replaced the last Tire Sensor. Since the TMPS light was on they didn't even put a REJECT INSPECTION on my car window and let me drive it without any Sticker. They put my life and others at risk of a fatal accident, negligent in letting me drive off their FORD DEALERSHIP LOT WITH A BROKEN SWAY BAR LINK AND BUBBLE/CRACKS ON TIRE. Everything is very RUSTY under the car carriage. I do not feel safe driving car. I call it a deathtrap. Also per Carfax it was parked someplace for a year 01/01/2024 - 01/01/2025. 24 FORD OUT IT UP FOR SALE 01/2025. THEY DIDN'T DO ANY ROUTINE OIL CHANGE, DIRTY AIR FILTERS. Purchased car on March 4, 2025. Noticed TMPS dashboard light was on, returned 3/5/2025, Ford replaced tire senor, light was still on, they replaced 4 tire senors. But did not replace all untill 4/19/2024, that is when I noticed a bubble and crack on tire and a BROKEN SWAY BAR LINK. ALSO THEY DID NOT INSPECT MY CAR WITHIN 7 DAYS, THEY INSPECTED IT ON 3/14/2025. NO REJECTION STICKER PUT ON, SO I was DRIVING THE CAR HONDA WITHOUT ANY STICKER UNTIL THEY REPLACED ANOTHER SENOR. TOLD ME THE TMPS light would go off after I drove the car around. 24 Ford of South Easton of Easton, MA sold me a 2010 Honda Fit that has a DriveShaft recall for corrosion. Also, faulty tire senors, replaced but Dashboard TMPS light is still on, lied about giving me a new tire, tire has bubbles on it and they put tire on rim facing in toward car wheel hub so it won't be visible, I noticed this and a broken Sway Bar Link. Ford let me drive an unsafe car off the lot. They didn't Offer to fix it, I went to AXP Auto , paid $183.00 to fix the Sway Bar Link, then to a tire Shop to get a new tire . I went to Honda Dealership and they replaced the DRIVESHAFT AND GAVE ME A $2000.00 ESTIMATE OF SAFETY REPAIRS THAT NEED TO BE FIXED. Six weeks after I brought car, Transmission Engine light is constantly on...many other thing wrong. Axle Shaft R&R, front pads and rotor, 4 tires, Dirty Air Filter, old oil filter black oil. Now Transmission Pressure Senor needs replacement. List is long. AXP Auto also gave me a $2,000.00 quote on repairs, transmission fluid pressure switch gasket, etc. steering TIE RODS, REPLACE BRAKES. THIS HONDA FIT IS A DEATHTRAP AND I AM SCARED TO DRIVE IT. 24 FORD SHOULD HAVE REPLACED DRIVESHAFT BEFORE I PURCHASED CAR. I called the Honda dealership in Concord California on 12/2/2024 for the 20V-770 recall as well as the airbag shrapnel issue. They checked with the service manager and refused to inspect the drive train unless there “Was a problem with the car”. They refused to repair the air bags unless “something happens, hopefully nothing happens then we can look at it.” They offered to have the airbags repaired at our expense. What is the point of having a recall if the dealers refuse to even look at the car until it crashes or hits you with shrapnel?

The contact owns a 2010 Honda Fit. The contact stated while driving at 35 mph, the power steering warning light illuminated and the vehicle loss power steering functionality. The vehicle regained power steering assist and was coasted to the side of the roadway. While accelerating, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the power train failed and needed to be replaced. The technician replaced the engine coil spring and disconnected the battery however, the failure recurred four times. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer four times. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V770000 (Power Train) as a possible solution to the failure however, the Vin was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 215,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 HONDA FIT. WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE COLLIDED WITH A BRIDGE CEMENT POST. WHILE SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS VEERING TO THE RIGHT. THE CONTACT DID NOT RECALL ANY WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER WAS 84 YEARS OLD AND POSSIBLY UNAWARE OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING TO THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY, BUT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS AND SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT BELTS WERE ENGAGED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A BROKEN STERNUM AND THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED BUMPS AND BRUISES TO BOTH KNEES AND ARMS. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED TO DETERMINE THE AIR BAG FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,323. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA FIT. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS AND MAKING A TURN, THERE WAS A LOSS OF POWER STEERING WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, THE REAR BRAKE LIGHT FAILED TO FUNCTION AND THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR FAILED TO OPERATE WITH THE KEY OR FOB. THE VEHICLE WAS MANEUVERED TO A SAFE LOCATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,500. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

THE BACK WINDOW ON 2010 FIT SPORT HATCHBACK DID NOT HAVE ANY PREVIOUS DAMAGE. THE CAR WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY OVERNIGHT. WHEN I GOT IN AND SHUT THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR, THE BACK WINDOW SHATTERED BEFORE I HAD EVEN STARTED THE IGNITION.. THE CAR HAD NO PREVIOUS DAMAGE OR CRACKS/CHIPS OF ANY KIND. THE ENITRE BACK WINDOW HAD TO BE REPLACED.

MY DAUGHTER HAD AN ACCIDENT, THIS IS HER ACCOUNT: I WAS DRIVING MY 2010 HONDA FIT ON HIGHWAY 880 NORTHBOUND IN THE VICINITY OF ALAMEDA ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 16TH 2015. I HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR AT LEAST A HALF HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY AND WAS IN THE LEFT MOST LANE GOING ABOUT 70 MPH. SUDDENLY WITHOUT ANY WARNING MY CAR BEGAN TO SWERVE VIOLENTLY TO THE RIGHT INTO THE LANE TO MY RIGHT. MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS THAT ONE OF THE TIRES HAD BLOWN OUT, SO I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS AND DID NOT TOUCH THE BRAKES, THINKING JUST THAT I SHOULD TRY TO KEEP THE CAR AWAY FROM OTHER VEHICLES AND AS GENTLY AS I COULD BRING IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AWAY FROM TRAFFIC. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE FIRST SWERVE, THE CAR DID NOT REACT IN THE SLIGHTEST TO MY STEERING ATTEMPTS TO KEEP IT STRAIGHT OR AWAY FROM TRAFFIC, AND IT SWERVED LEFT AND RIGHT A COUPLE MORE TIMES BEFORE HITTING THE CONCRETE MEDIAN ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. THE FRONT OF THE CAR CRUNCHED INTO THE MEDIAN, AND THE WHOLE CAR FLIPPED ON ITS PASSENGER SIDE AND SCRAPED AGAINST THE MEDIAN BEFORE FINALLY COMING TO A HALT UPSIDE DOWN. ONCE THE CAR STOPPED I SAW THAT MIRACULOUSLY NOTHING INSIDE OF THE CAR WAS IMPEDING MY EXIT, AND THE GLASS ON BOTH THE WINDOWS HAD COMPLETELY SHATTERED, SO I UNDID MY SEATBELT AND CRAWLED OUT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW AND IMMEDIATELY STOOD UP. THANKFULLY NO OTHER CARS OR PASSENGERS WERE INVOLVED, 911 WAS CALLED, AND THE POLICEMAN WHO CAME SAID THE INCIDENT SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS DUE TO TIRE DAMAGE FROM MY DESCRIPTION BUT THEN EXAMINED THE WHEELS OF THE CAR AND REPORTED THAT HE DIDN?T SEE ANYTHING AWRY WITH THEM, LEAVING THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT A MYSTERY. IT WILL NOT RESPOND TO APPLICATION OF THE INCREASE SPEED BUTTON ON THE CRUISE CONTROL PANEL NOR WILL IT INCREASE SPEED WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS PUSHED.
