The fuel gauge-odometer indicator dash cluster goes blank and/or scrambles-then goes dark with no info.

The digital gas gauge and odometer on the dashboard is a blank, blue screen or shows partial information but isn't legible. It will happen sporadically, seemingly from cold weather, and eventually the screen appears as normal. This started happening this winter around 82k miles. Not knowing the fuel level is a safety issue, especially with winter driving. There were no warning messages prior to this issue. Lastly, per an online search, many Honda fit owners have experienced this same issue.

The gas gauge/odometer on the dashboard shows up blank or is total gibberish. Therefore, I have no idea how much gas is left or the current mileage for maintenance timing. It used to only happen in cold weather, but now it happens at any temperature. It usually does this when starting of the engine and it can eventually show up in a minute or 20 minutes into driving. I get this "error" almost daily. This is a safety issue because I don't know the fuel level of my car. I know never let the gauge fall under 1/2 full. I also take pictures of the screen every time I turn off the car so I know what the last mileage and gas level is in case it blanks out the next time I start the engine to drive. I've contacted the manufacturer and they said to bring it in when it happens. I have no way of knowing when it will happen or for how long. The only way it could be reproduced is if I left it a the dealer for them to start periodically, but appointments are necessary especially in this time of low staffing. There were no warning messages prior to this issue. The gauge cluster that shows your mileage and fuel levels and maintenance schedule goes out intermittently or altogether blank. It started a couple years ago and at this time I only have 45,000 miles on it. Couple years ago it probably had around 30,000 miles on it. It mainly does it when it’s cold, but it has done it in the summer lately. It gets all sketchy or completely blank. Drive several miles, it comes back on. I’ve read ALOT of complaints. There are way too many complaints on this issue in very little mileage. It is very expensive to fix, and I should not have to pay that kind of money when there aren’t that many miles on it. I had to replace a starter about a year ago. Ridiculous. Like I stated above, I have 45,000 miles on the car at this time. I have had older cars and put way more miles on it and never had a starter problem. I think these matters need addressed and the consumers have it corrected by Honda at their expense. I’ve already had to spend $700 for a starter for a very low mileage car. What is my recourse? I need this fixed before it goes out completely and won’t know how much gas I have or when my maintenance needs to be done.

When it is cold outside the gauge cluster fails due to a loose solder connection on the instrument panel circuit board. This is a common and know issue with 2015/2016 Honda Fits.

Water leak problem at passengers side . Including passenger side airbags area get wet , and sunroof area too . My car is 2016, never been in accident and well maintained, I couldn’t think of any reason to cost water leak . At 5/22/2022 evening time heavy rain, 3 hours parking car outside, passenger side floor almost 2-3inches water . That’s a lot of water.

Fuel injectors are defective. Honda recognizes that this a design flaw. Honda changed to new design in later model 2016's. Because of injector failure, un-combusted fuel will enter the catalytic converter and will contaminate the converter and fuel system causing multiple problems.

HAD THE SAME FUEL INJECTOR ISSUES AS EVERY OTHER HONDA FIT OWNER. HONDA REDESIGNED FUEL INJECTORS BUT DID NOT RECALL ALL HONDA MODELS WITH THIS ISSUE.

I RECENTLY TOOK MY FIT INTO MY LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP TO ADDRESS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THAT DAY IN PARTICULAR, THE VEHICLE HAD A DELAYED ACCELERATION WHEN I WAS HITTING THE GAS PEDAL ON A LOCAL CITY STREET'SOMETHING IT HAD NOT DONE EVER. AT THE TIME OF MY SERVICE, IT WAS EXPLAINED TO ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST RUN TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE. I RECEIVED A CALL LATER THAT DAY INFORMING ME OF A 'CYLINDER 3 MISFIRE' THAT WOULD REQUIRE A COIL, SPARK PLUG AND FUEL INDUCTION SERVICE. WE PROCEEDED WITH THE REPAIR AND THE FOLLOWING MORNING I RECEIVED A LINK TO VIEW AN INSPECTION OF MY VEHICLE THAT REPORTED MY VEHICLE AS 'OVERALL STILL LIKE NEW''AND THAT WAS GREAT UNTIL LATER THAT AFTERNOON I WAS NOW TOLD THAT UPON FURTHER INSPECTION I NEEDED MORE REPAIRS. I NOW NEEDED FUEL INJECTORS AND WAS TOLD THAT HONDA WOULD NOT JUST REPLACE THE DAMAGED ONE IN CYLINDER 3 BUT WOULD PROCEED TO CHANGE THEM ALL'SOMETHING I THOUGHT WAS ODD AND COSTLY ($2300) TO SAY THE LEAST! MY SERVICE ASSOCIATE STATED THAT NOTHING WAS UNDER WARRANTY SO THE EXPENSES WOULD BE OUT OF POCKET. AFTER LOOKING INTO DOCUMENTS ON HONDA'S WEBSITE, IT SEEMS THAT EVENTUALLY HONDA IMPROVED THE INJECTORS ON LATER MODELS OF 2016 FITS. THE FRUSTRATING PART FOR ME IS THAT IT FEELS LIKE HONDA WANTS US TO BE OUT OF POCKET FOR AN ISSUE FOUNDED ON CRAFTSMANSHIP THAT IS NOT TO PAR WITH HONDA'S TYPICAL QUALITY. AT ONLY 37,000 MILES, MY 2016 FIT STARTED HAVING TROUBLE UPSHIFTING AND DOWNSHIFTING EFFICIENTLY, AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP, AND WAS TOLD MY FUEL INJECTORS HAD FAILED, AND THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT CARBON BUILD UP ON THE ENGINE VALVES THAT NEEDED CLEANING. AT MY PERSISTENCE, HONDA EVENTUALLY DECIDED TO DO A GOODWILL REPAIR SINCE IT WAS ONLY 1,000 MILES OUTSIDE OF FACTORY WARRANTY. HOWEVER, THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH 2015/2016 FITS AND HONDA SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL FOR THEIR FUEL INJECTORS.

There have been multiple airbag system warning lights on my Honda Fit over the past couple of months. Initially, the driver side airbag inflator warning illuminated and I was able to reset it. Now the passenger side inflator is setting off the warning and it won't reset.

RECIEVED 2 RECALL NOTICES, ONE IN FEB 2016 (DRIVER SIDE), THE 2ND IN JULY 2016 (PASSENGER SIDE). THE 2ND NOTICE STATED TO AVOID PLACING PERSONS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. CONTACTED OUR LOCAL DEALER LATE JULY - AT OUR REQUEST THEY SUPPLIED A RENTAL CAR PENDING RECEIPT OF REPAIR PARTS. I HAVE NOW BEEN CONTACTED THAT REPAIR PARTS FOR THE DRIVER SIDE ONLY HAVE BEEN RECEIVED, AND THAT HONDA WILL NOT COVER THE REPLACEMENT CAR ONCE DRIVER SIDE IS REPAIRED, WITH NO FIRM ETA ON PARTS FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE. I CONTACTED AMERICAN HONDA TO OPEN A CASE BUT WAS TOLD NOT TO EXPECT TO HEAR BACK FROM ANYONE ANYTIME SOON. SO I WILL BE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE DRIVING A CAR WITH DEFECTIVE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS, AND THE BAND-AID SOLUTION IS TO NOT HAVE FULL USE OF MY VEHICLE FOR AN INDETERMINATE PERIOD OF TIME.

1. Nexen-P185/55R16 83H 2. A bubble has formed in the sidewall. Can cause Tire blow out. 3. This is the third Nexen tire to form a bubble. I reported the last one a little over a month ago. Tire service provider to order a new tire and replace today. 4. It has not been inspected by law enforcement or investigators. 5. No, there were not.

Woke up [XXX] to a flat tire. Filled the tire and heard a hiss. We took the vehicle to NTB in Wellsburg, WV where we bought the tires. After inspection we were told two tires had "bubbles" and needed to be replaced (picture of front passenger side attached). We have ordered new Goodyears that will be here in 2 days. Side Note: we had to buy groceries, so we drove the car slowly yo Walmart in Steubenville, OH where the front tire failed. AAA (DCP Automotive) came and changed the tire/doughnut. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA FIT EQUIPPED WITH FOUR FIRESTONE FR SERIES 740 TIRES, SIZE: 185/R6011584T (NA). WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL FLOPPING NOISE AND THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE BLEW OUT. THE TIRE INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE DOT NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000 AND THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,400.

THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER IN DENVER CO, WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A DEFECTIVE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 52,000.

WHILE IN MOTION, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS CAME ON (CHECK ENGINE, STABILITY ASSIST, ELECTRIC POWER STEERING, ETC.) . IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER, CALLED A TOW TRUCK, TOOK TO DEALER, AND LATER FOUND OUT THE FUEL INJECTORS WERE BAD. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME! FIRST AT 27,000 MILES AND NOW AGAIN AT 44,000 MILES. JUST GRATEFUL I WASN'T ON THE FREEWAY! SEVERAL TSB'S REGARDING THIS AND CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS. WHY IS THERE NO RECALL?

PERTAINING TO THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT IF A TPMS SENSOR IS REMOVED FROM THE CAR, THE CAR IS SUPPOSED TO ALERT THE DRIVER VIA A WARNING LIGHT. MY 2016 HONDA FIT HAD ALL FOUR TIRES AND RIMS REPLACED THAT DIDN'T HAVE TPMS SENSORS INSTALLED AND NO INDICATOR HAS ILLUMINATED IN THE VEHICLE. (IT'S BEEN ALMOST TWO MONTHS SINCE THE SENSORS WERE REMOVED)

I'VE HAD THE PRESSURE CHECKED BY PROFESSIONALS IN EACH TIRE AND ON ONE OCCASION IT WAS 1 UNIT LESS THAN IT HAD BEEN BEFORE, BUT NOT BELOW THE LEVEL THAT IT SHOULD HAVE COME ON FOR. AFTER REFILLING, THE PROBLEM SOON REPEATS IN A SIMILAR DURATION.

Smart Power Control Unit stopped working and had to pay out of pocket over $1200 due to no warranties applicable. Have heard from online forums that this is a very common part malfunction in the 2016 models from Honda and due to the high amount of incidents and for how expensive of a repair this turns out to be the part should be covered by Honda as they already cover the actual on and off switch button.

THE ODOMETER/GAS GUAGE FAILS IN COLD WEATHER. THIS CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN THE DRIVER CAN NOT ACCURATELY GUAGE MILEAGE (NEEDED FOR MAINTENANCE AND REPORTING), AND CAN NOT ACCURATELY GUAGE FUEL LEVELS WHICH CAN STRAND THE MOTORIST AND CREATE A BEVY OF SAFETY ISSUES.

The breather tube for the CVT transmission becomes clogged, causing the rubber fill plug to pop out and spill CVT fluid and allow water, dirt, rocks, and other debris to enter directly into the transmission. This has caused a slipping of the transmission at low speed when accelerating from a stop. Several times, when pulling out on a main road, it will stutter and not apply power to accelerate properly. I am genuinely concerned that it's going to cause me to get hit by an oncoming vehicle. There is no warning as to when the plug will pop out again and it's in a difficult to locate area underneath the engine air intake, which must be removed to access the plug. It's not easily visible to see when it has popped out. There were no warning lights or signs of the plug being popped out of place until the transmission began having issues with acceleration. This is currently a known issue to the NHTSA reported here at this link (https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10165374-0001.pdf) however, I am elevating the concern that putting the plug back in place is not an adequate solution, and noting that the known issue is causing transmission issues. I would like to emphasize that this is a wide spread issue amongst these Honda CVT transmissions as shown in the NHTSA link above. I am trying to stick to the facts that I know, and based on my research into the failure rate of these CVT transmissions, I am recommending that a closer look be taken into this issue, as I am finding many testimonies of people having the same issues I am encountering. NEW 2016 FIT WITH APPROX 5500 MILES STARTED DEVELOPING AN AUDIABLE TICKING/CLICKING NOISE WHEN RELEASING THE CLUTCH PEDAL GOING INTO 1ST GEAR FROM A STATIONARY POSITION. MUCH MORE PRONOUNCE WHEN ON AN INCLINE AND HAS PROGRESSIVELY WORSEN SINCE APPROX 3500 MILES. NO VIBRATIONS TRANSMITTED THROUGH THE PEDAL ASSEMBLY NOTED. DID NOT HAVE THIS NOISE WHEN THE CAR WAS NEW. DEALER REMOVED TRANSMISSION, REPLACED CLUTCH ASSEMBLY AND THROWOUT BEARING AND RETURNED CAR UNDER WARRANTY. CLICKING NOISE PERSIST. BROUGHT BACK TO DEALER A SECOND TIME , SHOP FOREMAN SPOKE TO HONDA TECHLINE AND CONCLUDED AUDIABLE CLICKING/ TICKING DURING CLUTCH RELEASE IS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE NEW 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION/GEARBOX, & DOCUMENTED ALL IS NORMAL. BEEN DRIVING MANUAL VEHICLES FOR OVER 20 YEARS WITH ALL TRANSMISSION/CLUTCH COMPONENTS LASTING 80-90K MILES BEFORE FIRST SERVICE/ COMPONENT REPLACEMENT. THIS INCLUDING A CABLE ACTUATED CLUTCH THAT WAS QUIETER THAN THIS. NEVER ENCOUNTERING THIS BEFORE. GUESS TIME WILL TELL IF IT IS A DESIGN OR ASSEMBLY FLAW, OR INFACT A " NORMAL CHARACTERISTICS" OF THIS NEW 6 SPEED MANUAL GEAR BOX. ATLEAST ALL IS DOCUMENTED IN HONDA DATABASE.

I WAS IN REVERSE BACKING INTO MY PARKING SPACE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY GAS PETEL ACCELERATED DRIVING MY CAR SO FAST OVER A CURB AND INTO A STONE WALL. THIS IS NOT THE ONLY VEHICLE THAT REPORTED TO HONDA AMERICAN, BUT THE SAME MALFUNCTION OF GAS PETAL CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE AT A HIGH SPEED. REPORTED TO MY INSURANCE AND HONDA AMERICAN. MY CAR NOW IF I PUT IT IN DRIVE IT STARTS DRIVING ON ITS OWN. ALSO IN REVERSE IT STARTS DRIVING ON ITS OWN. I DON'T HAVE TO STEP ON THE. GAS PETAL IT MOVES ON ITS OWN. I AM AWAITING FOR HONDA AMERICA TO SEND A REPRESENTATIVE TO MY HONDA DEALER WITH ME TO INSPECT. I AM ASKING HONDA AMERICAN TO PAY REPAIR OF MY VEHICLE. $1,082.00. HONDA IS WILLING TO TOW MY CAR, BUT CAN'T PROMISE ME A VEHICLE WHILE BEING REPAIRED. HONDA AMERICA SENT SOMEONE TO TOW MY CAR, WITHOUT NOTIFICATION TO ME. I CANCELED THE TOW, FOR I HAD FRACTURED MY ELBOW AND NEEDED TO SPEAK WITH HONDA AMERICA. I AM WAITING FOR A RETURN PHONE CALL TO SO WE MAY GET MY CAR INSPECTED BY A HONDA REPRESENTATIVE. AFTER 10,000 MILES SEVERAL DEEP CONCENTRIC GROOVES ARE WORN INTO THE FRONT BRAKES. MY DEALERSHIP, WALSH HONDA (LAURA MEEKS), RESPONDED TO MY EMAIL CONCERN (WITH PICTURES) THAT THESE ARE "NOT UNCOMMON AND NO SAFETY CONCERN". WALSH HONDA SCHEDULED ME TO REPLACE MY REAR BRAKE SHOES ON 9/5. WALSH HONDA OFFERING TO REPLACE REAR BRAKE SHOES (WHICH ARE PERFECTLY FINE) TO FIX DEEP FRONT ROTOR GROOVES IS NOT ACCEPTABLE OBVIOUSLY.

GOT LOANER CAR. THEY HAD REPLACED A VSA MODULATOR.THIS WAS ON 7/13/17. ON 7/19/17 STARTED CAR PUT FOOT ON BRAKE PEDAL DOWN TO FLOOR ,"MUSHY BRAKES. ODOMETER/FUEL GAUGE HAVE STARTED TO DISPLAY RANDOM CHARACTERS. AT FIRST IT WAS INTERMITTENT AND IN REALLY COLD WEATHER, AND WOULD SORT ITSELF OUT AFTER 5-10 MINUTES. BUT IT HAS BECOME MORE COMMON AS SOON AS THE CAR STARTS AND NOW WILL NOT SORT ITSELF OUT. THERE IS NO ACCESS TO THE CAR'S MILEAGE OR TO EVEN KNOW HOW MUCH GAS IS LEFT IN THE TANK. DEFECTIVE FUEL/MILEAGE GAUGE CLUSTER IS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT CAUSED BY TEMPERATURE RELATED ISSUES, USUALLY DURING OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES OF 45 DEGREES OR LESS. NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILE AGAINST THE MANUFACTURE BUT THE ISSUE HAS YET TO BE RESOLVED. IT IS NOT A WIRING OR CAR COMPUTER RELATED ISSUE AND THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN NARROWED DOWN BY A NUMBER OF HONDA DEALER MECHANICS TO BE A DEFECTIVE GAUGE CLUSTER. REPLACING THE CLUSTER WOULD RESOLVE THIS ISSUE HOWEVER, PARTS AND LABOR ARE OVER $500. VEHICLE IS A 2016 HONDA FIT WITH LESS THAN 11,000 MILES.

The contact owns a 2016 Honda Fit. The contact stated that while accelerating from a complete stop, the vehicle hesitated to respond. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the spark plugs were replaced twice, and the catalytic converter was replaced at the contact's expense before the failure. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to an unknown local dealer, where it remained for further diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to Honda TSB Number: 22-002; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

The cvt transmission is going out. The dealer has conformed this. This vehicle only has 120000 miles on it and has had every transmission service that was recommended. When this goes completely it could cause an accident at freeway speeds. I believe this model year needs to be added to the cvt recall list and should be covered by honda to 150000 since they clearly know they have an issue here.

The big recall with Honda and Acura, it lists the 2018-2019 Honda fit as having issues with the fuel pump modular. I've had the same issues with my 2016 for a few years now. I've stalled while driving and the steering wheel locks up when that happens. When starting from a stop, it is worse. I once was taking a left turn and it happened. Luckily I wasn't going across during a busy time, I might have been hit. I've gotten my car looked at several times and no one could tell me what was wrong. I even put in a new fuel pump because all of the systems seemed to be related to the fuel pump. And that didn't change anything either. It has to be the modular but whatever it is, this is serious and I cannot believe the 2016 has not been included in the recall. I have to mash the gas a lot, it seems to kind of help in preventing stalling sometimes. But if you have someone right in front of you, and you're making a turn, thats very difficult to mash the gas to prevent a stall while turning. I know I am mentioning turning a lot, it doesn't matter if I am turning or going straight, but I feel like it's more dangerous when it happens while turning as the steering wheel locks up when the car stalls. Throwing it in neutral doesn't even unlock the steering wheel. You can't quickly fix the issue, you have to switch the ignition off and restart it to unlock the steering wheel, that's not something that can be done quick enough to avoid an accident that is about to happen right before your eyes. Please look into this. I feel like it is immoral of Honda to not include other Fit models in the recall. They must know it's not only the 2018-2019 models. There is no way that my car is the only 2016 this is happening to. I greatly appreciate any effort you are willing to put into investigating this matter.

We own a 2016 Honda Fit with 52,000 miles, and the fuel gauge/speed/odometer display does not work. It completely fails in the cold. This is major safety issue since we can't read the fuel level nor see how fast or slow I'm driving. Our car is currently at the Conicelli Honda dealership. After trying to get this fix or diagnosed for years, Conicelli thinks the problem is a loose or failing solder joint. I spoke with Honda and they is no current recall on this problem. That said and apparently, it is a common issue based on a YouTube video, [XXX] . This is major safety issue that should not fail at 52,000 miles. I was told that my vehicle has a defective VTC Actuator part per Honda notice 16-088 that will cause catastrophic failure of the engine and drivetrain. After diagnosis with the dealership they confirmed the risk stating, "The VTC does control the timing so it could cause it to jump timing. If that happens there is a possibility of catastrophic failure if you don't catch it quick enough." Despite bringing the vehicle in for repair 3 times after the release of the notice there was no attempt to repair the vehicle inside the warranty period. I am the original owner and reported the issue immediately after purchasing it as the characteristic "Rattle/grinding" was quite noticable on startup. We asked about this noise and was told, "Its normal." On my next service visit, after the expiration of the warranty at 60k miles, I was asked to pay $1800 to repair it. I pointed out the prior visits and the previous inquiries to be told (via phone) that because there is no formal recall they will not repair the part. Upon research I recently discovered Honda is subject to a class action lawsuit on this same issue. I fear without a recall my vehicle will suffer a failure which will place us at risk. I cannot afford the $1800 quoted to repair the manufacturers defect.

The steering wheel locks when I park the car and turn the ignition off. The steering wheel stays locked (warning light) when I turn the key in the ignition and the car does not start. Now it stays locked about 90% of the time. The solution (found online, from other drivers) is to take the key out of the ignition, gently turn the steering wheel to the right, then to the left several times; put the key in the ignition & start the car. I sometimes have to repeat the process several times before the car starts. It makes me feel unsafe when I can't start the car and leave an area quickly. I have not reported the problem to the dealer, and it has not been inspected. But I will report it because it happens so frequently.

While driving on highway, my car started to lose power. My attempts to maintain speed resulted in my car stalling and lurching forward, intermittently. I had to pull over on the side. Someone with a diagnostic tool checked and the tool read out indicated "Fuel rail pressure too low" and ABS indicated as abnormal.

About a year or two after purchasing the car new in 2016, we noticed that the instrument panel right side which has fuel gauge, odometer, trip information and other key operating vehicle information would go blank or the digital readout would go haywire and turn into gibberish. This generally happened on cold mornings and the display would revert to normal within 10 minutes to one hour. We took it to dealer where vehicle purchased in Phoenix, who was unable to recreate the problem and therefore they did nothing. The problem has persisted since then but recently has worsened to the point where the display is blank almost all of the time and not working in hot weather as well. The only time I can see the gauges is when first starting car in morning, and then it often doesn't work to get to different functions one accesses by pushing a knob/button next to that display -- and stops working completely a short time later. I feel this is a dangerous problem because we can't tell how much gas we have in the car, can't determine mileage via odometer there and lack other key vehicle information that the manufacturer decided to put in a digital panel that is blank or goes blank most of the time. On my listing below of when this incident occurred, that is to indicate when the problem started happening, more or less. The incident has been ongoing since then. The problem started when vehicle had around 20-25K miles and we are now at 58K -- though it's hard for me to tell mileage because I can so rarely see the odometer. I believe odometers and probably fuel gauges are legally required to work in vehicles and mine has been faulty for years and during the warranty period. A recall is needed. Honda is charging more than $1,000 to replace these faulty displays on Honda Fits that are no longer under warranty, like mine, I am told.

I NOTICED SOME INSULATION MISSING FROM MY ENGINE IN JULY 2016. I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS IMPORTANT UNTIL I WENT TO MY DEALER IN APRIL 2017. THEY SAID IT WAS MICE AND REMOVED A NEST. I CAME HOME WHICH IS 3 HRS AWAY AND NOTICED MUCH MORE DAMAGE THE NEXT MORNING. OUT OF DESPERATION I PUT 2 SNAP TRAPS IN THE ENGINE. I BOUGHT THIS 2016 HONDA FIT BRAND NEW IN NOV 2015.
