4/22/2025, my Honda HRV 2017 is parked and locked. The front/rear head lights will come on after the car is locked for 45 second and around 5 seconds after the lights came on it will sound off the alarm. The next day i took it to Honda to do diagnostic and they told me is the Body Control Module(BCM) issue. It will cause $1,350 +tax to replace it. It is pricey but it seems odds an eight years old car barely 45k miles with good taken care that a module so easy to went bad. Also all services(transmission oil, synthetic oil change, brake fluid, etc...) are done at the dealership nothing being done outside. I also found online there are some amount people complain about the same issue and same model year/model. One with the highest quote of $1,800+ to replace the BCM. I don't see any recall on this 2017 Honda HRV related to the BCM. But there is a related to BCM for 2018-2020 Accord, Accord hybrid, & Insight. The year of recall very close and there are some amount people complains about the BCM for Honda HRV 2017. Could have they used the similar BCM for HRV then follow through to the later year that for Honda Accord/Insight and got the recall? Could the HRV model be in the recall as well? It is just vert odd a good taken care car with low miles that the module so easy went out.

A few years ago my 2017 Honda HRV appeared to have what I thought was a glitch with the gas/millage gage. As time went on the glitch happened more frequently and the gage would either be blank or only fractions lit making it unusable. At times I was unable to tell how much gas I had and since I could also not track my miles I could not calculate. I have to drive for work and at times in remote and unsafe areas, having a reliable and fully functioning vehicle is very important. I also ran into in issue while having my oil changed causing a delay in service. Luckly after about 30min-1hr and some flickering the gage returns however I'm worried this will continue more and more frequently and eventually last longer all go out all together. When I was having some unrelated work on my car, I enquired about this issue believing it may be a fuse however I was told its a known issue the cluster panel and would run a minimum of $1,600. Because it was a known issue I assumed there would soon be a recall but that has not yet happened and soon the repair will be unavoidably necessary and I will be out of pocket for something that is known. I understand that not all issues become a recall but wanted to make sure that I reported it so that it could be taken into consideration along with any other reports you receive. Thank you for taking the time to look into this

Body control module this same part is already recalled in accords and other vehicles. The car will stop and cut off lights on the dash will flash there is clicking as the car tries to start on its own. It has been to multiple dealerships who stated it is already recalled on other models of Honda for causing the same issues. There are no warning lights it just randomly happens.

.While driving my car on a two lane 50mph highway my car began lurching but the engine was running at a high rpm with no power. I had a shoulder to pull off on so I did. The engine never stalled but would not go into gear. There were six lights that lit up on the instrument safety panel as well as the transmission indicator light was flashing with no clear indication as to what gear it was in. After sitting along side the road waiting for a ride the car had cooled off. I was able to restart the car and move it to a safe location with the aid of a pilot car. After inspection at the local Honda shop it was determined that the CVT transmission had failed. I have been a reliable owner and have taken this vehicle for every service recommendation but was never warned that this could happen until it failed. Then was told that they were surprised I had gotten as many miles as I had (160,000). I was fortunate to have been in a spot to pull off the road when this occurred. Had I been on my usual travel rout on a 70mph 4 lane freeway I feel I would have been a huge safety concern to myself and others! I also feel that if I had been warned that this could occur or have had some warning As to what was occurring, I would have included this as a repair at a time when I was more able to absorb the extensive cost! ( almost $10,000 ) As well as avoided the safety issues involved.

The contact owns a 2017 Honda HR-V. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The contact was able to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle was able to restart. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) drive belt, resulting in damages to the transmission. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin: 21-047. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 134,000.

I am writing this letter out of frustration regarding my HR-V Continuously Variable Transmission failure and dealer response. The week of Thanksgiving, my wife’s HR-V dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. I brought the car to my mechanic and he said I needed a new transmission. I called the local Honda (Kastor) Dealership in Napa, CA where I expressed my frustration. I asked specifically about any recall issues on the transmissions. The representative advised there were no recalls on my vehicle. The full transcription of my conversation with the Representative is available upon request as is the the Audio file. Subsequent to that call and after I had given direction to my mechanic to replace the transmission, I discovered this Honda Notice online: [XXX] The notice extends the warranty for the CVT for seven years. I called the Kastor dealership back and spoke with Santiago Pizano. Mr. Pizano advised me that if I got the vehicle fixed at the dealership Honda would reimburse me for 50%- 75% of the cost. The catch is I had to get the transmission replaced at the dealership and then ‘Larry’ would authorize the credit. I asked Mr. Pizano two questions. First, why I was not advised of this opportunity when I called on the 25th of November. Mr. Pizano researched my call and advised it was because I asked about recalls on my car’s transmission and I did not ask about credit for a transmission replacement. Apparently, I needed to phrase my question specifically to i) know about the CVT issue and ii) ask for reimbursement for the replacement. I then asked if I could speak with the person who makes the decision as to whether reimbursement is provided to a customer. Mr. Pizano advised that the person’s name is Larry, but I could not get his contact information. The cost of the new transmission was $7,667.77. It is outrageous that I was not advised about the Honda reimbursement or given Larry's contact info. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I am experiencing repeated water intrusion in the front passenger footwell of my 2017 Honda HR-V. The flooding occurs during or after moderate rainfall. The water pools under the carpet and creates a damp environment that could lead to mold, electrical damage, and safety hazards. I’ve researched this issue and found that many other HR-V owners have reported similar problems, especially in 2016–2018 models. There appear to be Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) related to cabin water leaks and A/C drain line issues, but no official recall has been issued. This issue poses a potential health and safety risk due to mold exposure and possible electrical malfunction. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this matter and consider whether a recall or manufacturer action is warranted.

Water has been leaking into interior part of my hatchback and has moved into the tail lights for years. Honda dealerships have been aware of that problem I have been having. Now water is leaking inside the car causing the seatbelts to be wet and the seats to be wet and damaged and the interior headliner is soaked and dripping inside the car. I currently have the car at the dealership. They could not figure out what was causing this in their initial diagnosis. Now they want to take off the headliner for a ridiculous sum in which I can not afford. I called Honda customer Care as I believe my car has a manufacturer defect from the beginning. There has been recalls on other vins with this exact problem, but they refuse to acknowledge that my car had these issues and should be fixed like the ones that were recalled. I believe my car should be part of that recall and fixed. The dealer has been dealing with my car leakage problems that have gotten significantly worse. Honda customer service refuses to call the dealer to have them do a diagnosis. Honda wants me to pay the outrageous fee the dealer wants to charge me. The dealer wants to charge me $1395.00 just to look at the car. That’s not even to fix it. I am aware of a class action lawsuit that Honda is knowingly selling cars with defective sunroof issues. My car has a sunroof in it. The dealer claims my sunroof is not the problem. I want this looked into please as there are many complaints out there about HRV and roof leaking. Not to mention recalls for leakage in Hondas. Dealer wants me to trade in my car. I feel they are trying to cover up what’s really going on with these cars and roof leakage.

The transmission went out in my vehicle. I read online that there is/was a recall on this vehicle, models 2016-2018, however, Honda is telling me there is no recall on the transmission. I noticed the grinding on Friday, 01/03/25, and did not drive it again until Monday, 01/06/25. It was still grinding. I took it to my dad’s house so he could lift it and diagnose the issue. While driving up his driveway, the transmission dropped and the car would not move. It had to be towed up the lane.

The odometer gauge (shows mileage and fuel level) intermittently goes blank. Based on the Honda HRV forum, it seems to be a frequent problem. I took it to the dealer, and they said the part needs to be replaced, at a cost of ~$2000. Started a few months ago and seems worse when weather is cold.
Nov 24, 2024
Water started leaking into my car through the dome light and near the driver's side floor area. This caused my body control module to flood and fail, affecting my entire electrical system. There is nothing in the owner's manual, maintenance schedule in the owner's information packet, or as part of the multipoint inspection indicating that the drains near the sunroof needed to be blown out. In contacting Honda, I was told that it is my responsibility to "keep my car clean." They refuse to take any responsibility for the issue even though there are numerous complaints about this online. The water coming in on the driver's side floor began late in May, 2024 and the water leaking through the dome light, affecting the failure in the electrical system occurred on June 22, 2024.

My 2017 Honda HR-V in White Orchid Pearl (NH-788P) has severe paint peeling on multiple panels (hood, roof, door). Honda issued Service Bulletin 19-064 covering this exact defect. However, I have been informed by Honda customer service and Honda dealers that my vehicle is no longer covered because it is 1 year beyond the 7-year extension period, even though the defect matches the exact conditions described in the bulletin. This is clearly a manufacturing defect, not normal wear. A consumer fairness concern, as the defect appears years before what should be the normal paint life of a vehicle. A potential safety concern, since exposed bare metal can lead to rust and structural weakening. I suggest an investigation into whether Honda should expand the paint defect warranty to include affected vehicles beyond the 7-year cutoff. As I believe paint on those defect vehicles don’t usually start peeling until about 7 year old or later and once they start to peel, they peel rapidly. I have attached photos of the peeling paint for your reference. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

I am the owner of a 2017 Honda HR-V with paint code NH-788P (White Orchid Pearl). Over time, I began to notice significant paint peeling and flaking, primarily on the roof, hood, and upper panels. This defect progressed despite routine washing and care. Based on my research, this is a well-documented and widespread issue affecting many Honda vehicles with this specific paint code. Honda issued a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB 19-064) acknowledging this defect and offered an extended warranty for paint repair. However, my vehicle is just slightly outside the 7-year window, and Honda has refused to assist. The cause appears to be a defect in the factory paint or application process, resulting in poor adhesion and premature paint failure. This has impacted the appearance and resale value of the vehicle and may also lead to long-term corrosion if the issue continues to spread.
Apr 23, 2025
The paint on the roof is peeling and some area around the windshield. I contacted Honda but was informed the extended warranty expired as of January 2024. The paint began peeling around July 2024. Honda also stated the extended warranty was valid from the time of purchase. However, I am not sure if this is for the initial purchase (1st owner) or when I purchase it (May 2019). If this is for the initial purchase then the extended warranty offered was negotiated fairly when it involves 2nd, 3rd owners who are now experiencing this issue. I should not have to pay for something that is clearly a manufacturer issue (peeling paint). When I drive at times the paint peelings further in the wind then blows off towards the vehicle behind me. I kindly asked this be addressed at Honda expense since they decided to use a cheaper paint on these vehicles. They need to be held accountable. R/

I’ve been to the Honda dealership twice. My passenger brake light is flickering and I’ve noticed other Honda vehicles on the road with the same passenger brake light out. I’ve googled and many people are having the same problem. Honda can’t seem to fix the problem because they don’t have staff. they complain. The appointment line is over booking them. I have recently been pulled over and it is a safety hazard.

BRAKES ARE SOFT WHEN BREAKING. ALSO WHEN STOPPING OVER SMALL BUMPS OR UNEVEN ROAD THE BRAKES STARTS TO GRIND AND CLUNK CAUSING IT TO HAVE PROBLEMS STOPPING. THIS IS GOING LESS THAN 20 MPH. IF I WHERE TO HAVE A CAR IN FRONT OF ME WHICH MANY TIMES I DO I HAVE TO SWERVE SO I DO NOT HIT THEM. HONDA SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS. THE ROADS ARE CLEAR NO RAIN OR ANYTHING FOR IT TO HAVE SUCH BAD BREAKING. I CAN LITERALLY FEEL MY BRAKE PEDAL MOVING WHILE THE CLUNKING AND GRINDING IS HAPPENING AND THE CAR DOES ACTUALLY NOT SLOW DOWN. IT'S LIKE THE BRAKES PEDAL LOOSES ITS FUNCTION.

My car’s warning lights came on and it had a hard time staying in gear. The engine was making a screeching sound and it stuttered when I drove it. I took it to my local mechanic and they found metal shavings and chunks in the transmission. They said they had seen this problem before. I called Honda and they requested I take it to Honda service station to do an additional assessment. Service center said the same thing- it was a faulty design in this make and model and the transmission belt was being ground down causing the metal chunks to cause damage. Honda is refusing to stand by their product and cover the cost of the repair.

MY AIR CONDITIONING STOPPED WORKING ONE DAY TO ANOTHER. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, I GOT INTO IT ONE MORNING AND THE AC WAS NOT WORKING AND BLOWING HOT AIR, WHEN THE DAY BEFORE IT WAS COLD. I TOOK IT TO HONDA SERVICES. THEY SAID IT WOULD BE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY, SINCE IT IS A 2017 LEASE, AND HAS LESS THAN 36 MONTHS AND LESS THAN 36,000 MILES. THREE HOURS LATER, THEY CALLED TO TELL ME THAT I HAD TO PAY $400. THEY SAID THAT ROAD DEBRIS HIT THE FRONT OF THE CAR AND THAT IS WHAT CAUSE THE CONDENSER TO GET A CRACK IN IT. THE CAR HASN'T EVEN LEFT THE SMALL CITY I LIVE IN FOR MONTHS, SO HASN'T EVEN BEEN GOING OVER 45MPH. THIS ISN'T FAIR THAT IT'S NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY, IT IS A DESIGN DEFECT. THE INTERNET SHOWS DOZENS AND DOZENS OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS, AND A CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT HAS EVEN BEEN REACHED FOR OTHER MODELS OF HONDA, BUT NOT MINE, THE HRV. HERE IS THE SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT: HTTPS://TOPCLASSACTIONS.COM/LAWSUIT-SETTLEMENTS/LAWSUIT-NEWS/1894-HONDA-AIR-CONDITIONINGCOMPRESSOR-CLASS-ACTION-SETTLEMENT/COMMENT-PAGE-17/#COMMENTS. WITH A FLASHLIGHT THEY SHOWED ME THE FRONT OF THE CAR WHERE SUPPOSEDLY A DEBRIS HIT AND CAUSED THE CONDENSER TO CRACK. BELOW IS A PICTURE OF WHAT THEY SHOWED ME. THERE WERE OTHER LITTLE DENTS OF THE SAME SIZE ALL AROUND, BUT THEY SAID ONLY THE ONE WAS WHAT SUPPOSEDLY DAMAGED THE CONDENSER. HOW IS IT THAT I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR A PEBBLE DAMAGING THE ENGINE WHEN THE CAR IS UNDER WARRANTY? THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT.

On Friday, Dec 31, 2021 the car (2017 Honda HR-V), without any warning, suddenly stalled in the middle of our residential street. Prior to this incident, I did not experience any indications that there was a problem with the car. The car was towed to a local Honda service center and upon inspection by one of their technicians it was determined that the car had a "broken flywheel" (the car is an automatic so this is not the correct term). Once repairs began I was contacted and informed that the broken flywheel had caused additional damage and the car now requires an entirely new engine. I purchased the car brand new in July 2017. In July 2020 I received a recall notification from Honda indicating that there were problems with the transmission and an entirely new transmission was installed with all costs covered by the manufacturer. Now six months later and only three years after purchasing the car, I am being told I need an entirely new engine. The car is currently at the service center and should be available for inspection. I have not authorized any work related to the engine because I am collecting information on my rights as a consumer and my options in regards to repair of the car. I strongly believe that the flywheel and engine repairs are manufacturer defects and need to be addressed and costs covered by Honda.

WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT DURING MY VERY FIRST HEAVY RAIN STORM AFTER PURCHASING THE HONDA HRV. I HAD ZERO VISIBILITY, EVEN AFTER INCREASING THE WIPER BLADE SPEED TO IT'S MAXIMUM SPEED I STILL HAD ZERO VISIBILITY. I FELT EXTREMELY UNSAFE IN MY NEW VEHICLE AND HAD TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD MY WIPER BLADES MIGHT BE DRY ROTTED FROM SITTING ON THE CAR LOT. I DIDN'T BELIEVE THIS TO BE THE ISSUE BUT PURCHASED NEW BLADE INSERTS IN ORDER TO RULE IT OUT. THE VERY NEXT HEAVY RAIN, THE RESULT WERE THE SAME. THERE IS NOT EVEN A SECOND OF VISIBILITY IN HEAVY RAIN REGARDLESS OF HOW FAST THE WIPER BLADES ARE MOVING ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THE WINDSHIELD IS DESIGNED POORLY.

SEATS
2 complaints
HONDA HR-V HAS THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE SEATS. A COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER PURCHASING THIS BRAND NEW CAR, I STARTED EXPERIENCING PAIN IN MY LOWER BACK AND TAILBONE AREA. NO MATTER HOW I ADJUSTED THE SEAT, THE PAIN WAS STILL THERE. I CONTACTED THE DEALER ABOUT IT, THEY SUGGESTED TRYING OUT SOME CUSHIONS. I TRIED SEVERAL DIFFERENT CUSHIONS AND LUMBAR SUPPORTS, BUT NOTHING HELPS. MY TAILBONE ALWAYS HURTS WHILE DRIVING THIS CAR. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN IN ANY OTHER VEHICLE. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER BACK ASKING IF THEY COULD SWAP OUT THE DRIVERS SEAT WITH ANOTHER SEAT, THEY SAID THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING LIKE THAT. I FEEL THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN VERY UNHELPFUL AND NOW I'M STUCK PAYING FOR THE CAR THAT IS LITERALLY A PAIN IN THE REAR TO DRIVE.
May 30, 2018
THE SEATS IN MY 2017 HONDA H-RV WERE SO UNCOMFORTABLE I HAD TO TRADE IT IN AFTER HAVING ONLY PUT 250 MILES ON THE CAR. NO MATTER WHICH WAY I ADJUSTED THE SEATS, IT WAS NO BETTER. WHEN I WENT TO THE DOCTOR SHE TOLD ME EVERYTHING BELOW MY WAIST WAS SPASMING. THE SEATS WERE VERY HARD, NARROW AND THE DRIVERS SEAT BELT WAS PRESSED RIGHT UP AGAINST YOUR HIP AND YOU COULDN'T MOVE IT. I LOST $2000 DOLLARS WHEN I TRADED THAT CAR IN AND I KNOW FROM ALL THE ARTICLES I'VE READ THAT HONDA HAS BEEN AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM FOR SOME TIME. BUT THEY KEEP RIPPING OFF THE CUSTOMERS. THE TEST DRIVE IS NOT LONG ENOUGH TO DETECT THE PROBLEM AND I BELIEVE ANYONE WHO HAS TO TRADE IN THEIR CAR FOR THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE COMPENSATED. I NOTIFIED THE DEALER WHEN I HAD ONLY 25 MILES ON THE CAR AND THEY WOULD NOT TAKE IT BACK.

THIS IS AN AMENDED COMPLAINT NO. 10995808. I MAY HAVE GOTTEN A DIGIT WRONG IN MY EARLIER SUBMISSION. FROM MY WV REGISTRATION, MY VIN IS [XXX]. I HAD TWO NEAR-COLLISIONS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC BECAUSE THE BRAKE PEDAL IS TOO CLOSE TO THE GAS-FEED PEDAL. I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER SUGGESTING THE PEDALS NEED MORE SEPARATION. THAT FAILING, I SUGGESTED THE DEALER TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK. HE REFUSED BOTH REMEDIES. I LEFT THE CAR THERE AND WALKED HOME. I REFUSE TO DRIVE A DANGEROUS CAR. I HAVE NO PHOTOS TO OFFER. THE DEALER HAS POSSESSION OF IT. I SUPPOSE THE BRAKE/ACCELERATOR ALIGNMENT IS PER DESIGN. I ADMIT I WEAR A SIZE 15 SHOE BUT THE SPACE FOR FEET OF MODERATE SIZE IS QUITE SMALL. I WAS WILLING TO LIVE WITH THE RESTRICTED SPACE - I DRIVE AN OLDER CR-V AND AM VERY HAPPY WITH IT. I ALMOST CRASHED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC BECAUSE THE BRAKE PEDAL OVERLAPS THE GAS PEDAL SPACE. *JS INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE 05/27/2017. A TEST DRIVE DIDN'T REVEAL A BRAKE/ACCELERATOR CROSS-OVER PROBLEM (A TEST DRIVE AROUND THE BLOCK ISN'T MEANT TO FAILURE-TEST IT). THE NEXT WEEK MY WIFE AND I TRAVELED FROM OUR HOME IN WV TO VISIT A DAUGHTER IN MI. DRIVING ON I-70 THROUGH COLUMBUS I GOT CAUGHT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC; THE DRIVER AHEAD OF US DECELERATED QUICKLY AND I HAD TO JUMP ON MY BRAKE TO AVOID A COLLISION. U WITTINGLY, MY RIGHT FOOT ALSO DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR. BEFORE IMPACT THE ENGINE PAUSED - YIELDING TO THE BRAKE ( LEARNED LATE THAT IS A SAFETY OVER-RIDE FUNCTION) WE WERE SCARED! I PULLED OUT OF THE TRAFFIC AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO TRY TO UNDERSTAND WHAT HAD HAPPENED. WITH THE ENGINE STOPPED I REPEATED THE SCARY OPERATION AND DISCOVERED THAT THE FULLY DEPRESSED BRAKE PAD WAS LEVEL WITH THE GAS PEDAL. I CORRECTED THE POTENTIAL REPEAT NEAR DISASTER BY BRAKING WITH MY LEFT FOOT. ON THE WAY HOME (AGAIN IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON I-70 I HAD ANOTHER CLOSE CALL, WITH RIGHT FOOT HOVERING OVER THE GAS PEDAL I MASHED ON THE BRAKE WITH MY LEFT FOOT. MY RIGHT FOOT WAS UNDER THE BRAKE PEDAL.MY LEFT FOOT NOW FORCED MY RIGHT FOOT TO DEPRESS THE GAS PEDAL. THE BRAKE OVER-RIDE FUNCTION SAVED US AGAIN . . . BARELY! AT HOME I COMPARED THE HR-V WITH MY 2000 MODEL CR-V. THE CR-V HAS MORE TOTAL FOOT SPACE AND THE PEDALS ARE SEPARATED SUCH AS TO PERMIT BRAKING WITH MY RIGHT FOOT. AND WHEN FULLY DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL IS MORE THAN A HALF INCH ABOVE THE GAS PEDAL. BELIEVING THERE IS A DESIGN FLAW IN THE HR-V ON SATURDAY, JUNE 10 I RETURNED THE HR-V TO THE DEALER COMPLAINING THAT I AM AFRAID OF IT; HE COULD MODIFY THE BRAKE OR, THAT FAILING, THEY SHOULD TAKE THE DANGEROUS VEHICLE BACK TODAY, MONDAY, JUNE 19 THE DEALER POSSESSES THE HR-V THAT I FEAR AND REFUSE TO DRIVE.

Merging into traffic and car began shaking, stuttering, dash lights all flashing. Pulled to side of highway + shut vehicle off. Checked exterior of vehicle + tires, all ok. Turned back on and unable to drive it safely. Got to Tires Plus (closest open facility) CVT belt deteriorated in transmission. Notorious issue for the 2017 HR-V. Towed to O'Malley Honda in Wausau, WI, for 2nd opinion. Concurred with transmisdion replacement needed due to deteriorating CVT belt. Would like financial assistance to repair vehicle.

There was a light on the vehicle with the sensor P2337 & parking brake sensor and I took the vehicle to a garage who evaluated the car, cleared the light. They stated if the light came back on to return to the dealer. While I was driving the car, the lights returned when the car suddenly lost acceleration while driving the day after the licensed mechanic had evaluated it and stated it was fine. I was on a 55MPH highway and was able to brake at the nearest stoplight by placing the car in neutral. It would not move forward or reverse or engage in gears. I turned off the car, placed in neutral, and pushed the car with my wife pushing as well as steering the car into the nearest safe area. I had it towed to the Honda. The transmission was cracked all the way down the side and fluid had metal in it. The dealer inspected the vehicle and told me that the transmission (CVT) needs to be replaced and that it is a known issue, though my VIN is not included. I requested from Honda an expansion of VIN.

The fuel gage/odometer light in the vehicle cluster goes in and out and turns off randomly, particularly during cold weather/high humidity. It seems like there is a faulty electrical connection behind the fuel cluster. It will go out sometimes for long periods of time without warning.

The contact owns a 2017 Honda HR-V. The contact stated while her husband was driving 60 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently accelerated and the accelerator pedal became stuck, with the vehicle reaching a speed of 105 MPH. The contact's husband depressed the accelerator all the way to the floorboard, and the pedal returned to normal functionality. The contact stated that the electronics intermittently failed, displaying several warning lights on the instrument panel or no vehicle information: including fuel, temperature, and speed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the O2 sensor heater circuit and pressure in the EVAP system. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure with the transmission reoccurred. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the ECU. The vehicle was repaired a second time, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer and was awaiting diagnostic test. The contact stated that prior to the failure, the transmission had been replaced at 48,000 miles. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 129,000.

Car stalled at an intersection with no warning. Tried to restart and engine would start but when gas pedal pushed there was no acceleration. I was stuck in the middle of a busy intersection putting myself and others in at risk of an accident or injury. Had the car towed to Honda dealership and was told the problem is the fuel pump. They have had the car for a week and are still waiting for the part to be delivered according to the service department that I spoke to today. My car is only 5 years old with less than 24k miles.

My name is [XXX] - currently own Honda HRV. The Honda HRV was purchased late 2017. Recently after service recall by Honda my car was repaired for service recall by Honda Dealer dealer - 2 days after rain the front passenger floor area next to driver was flooded With water - I immediately took car back to dealer and told them to look at what was wrong as we never had this problem earlier- the service manager told me that there will be charges to even look at it - which I refused to pay as the car I handed before service recall never had this issue. Now with the rains the passenger area next to driver gets flooded every time and after calling Honda they have not responded so far other than informing that they will look up in to it and call me - this has been frustrating experience as it is raining every day for last few days - so please help ASAP. Also checked on internet as one of my friends who has repair garage told me that had similar issue, so inspite of the fact that several of Honda cars have similar problem and it is all over internet ; how come Honda is not aware of this manufacturing defect. This is an serious issue if water remains inside the car will have mold and the car will not be usable - please inform what should a customer do the car is only 3 to 4 years old with just 33,000 miles on it. Honda issued a case number [XXX]. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

A TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. WHEN PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, IT WAS ROCK SOLID AND WOULD NOT BUDGE. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING GETTING OFF A HIGHWAY EXIT WHEN THE BRAKES FAILED AND REAR ENDED AN SUV STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN. THE ACCIDENT CAUSED HER BACK INJURY WHICH STILL BOTHERS HER TO THIS DAY. THE CRASH WASN'T BAD ENOUGH TO DEPLOY THE AIRBAGS, BUT CAR DAMAGE WAS OVER $5000. THIS PROBLEM ALSO HAPPENED TO ME ONCE AND HAPPENED ONCE AGAIN TO HER. THANKFULLY, NO ACCIDENT THESE OTHER TWO TIMES. RELEASING AND ATTEMPTING TO PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL A FEW TIME EVENTUALLY MADE THE BRAKES WORK NORMALLY. THIS WAS WHEN WE FINALLY DECIDED TO GIVE UP THE LEASE BECAUSE MY WIFE AND I DID NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE CAR ANYMORE. THE CAR WAS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND HAD APPROXIMATELY 10000 MILES ON IT. I AS A MASTER AUTO TECHNICIAN B WOULD GUESS THE PROBLEM WAS LIKELY BE CAUSED BY SOMETHING JAMMING UP IN THE BRAKE BOOSTER OR MASTER CYLINDER, BUT THE DEALER WAS NEVER ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND NEVER REPLACED ANYTHING.

LAST NIGHT AT 12:58AM, I WAS TRAVELING IN MY 2017 HONDA HR-V ON THE EXPRESSWAY TOLL (LIMIT OF 75 MPH), GOING APPROXIMATELY 80-85 MPH ON CRUISE. SUDDENLY, MY VEHICLE QUIT ACCELERATING, ALL THE LIGHTS ON MY DASH LIT UP, AND PRESSING THE GAS DID NOTHING (NO JERKING OR SOUND). IT WAS EXTREMELY FRIGHTENING BECAUSE THERE WAS NO SHOULDER, A SINGLE LANE VERY HIGH UP, WITH NO OTHER VEHICLES IN SIGHT BEHIND ME TO ANTICIPATE MY STOP. LUCKILY, I CAME UPON A HILL TO COAST DOWN AND I PULLED OVER AS THE SHOULDER OPENED UP. I HAD ALL POWER, RADIO, LIGHTS, CAR RUNNING LIKE NORMAL. . . I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN BACK INTO DRIVE AND IT DID NOT MOVE. AFTER PUTTING IT BACK IN PARK, I SHUT OFF THE CAR AND ALMOST IMMEDIATELY TURNED IT BACK ON. ALL THE LIGHTS TURNED BACK ON IN THE DASH (ENGINE, CAR SLIDING, P WITH A CIRCLE AROUND IT WITH !, PARKING BREAK "PARK", ETC). . . PUTTING THE CAR IN DRIVE IT ACCELERATED AND DROVE PRETTY MUCH NORMAL. THIS MORNING WHEN I GOT BACK INTO CAR ONLY THE ENGINE AND P WITH CIRCLE AROUND IT LIGHTS WERE ON. IT DROVE NORMAL BUT I DO FEEL THERE IS A LACK OF ACCELERATION AS I AM PRESSING THE GAS, IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE THE SAME (HAVING TO APPLY MORE PRESSURE TO GAS). THE MECHANIC SHOP RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND ADVISED ME TO IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE A SPEED SENSOR CODE IN THE TRANSMISSION CAME BACK. I WAS ADVISED THERE ARE MANY VEHICLE MAKE AND MODELS WITH RECALLS ON THE CVT TRANSMISSIONS. UPON CALLING THE DEALERSHIP, THEY INFORMED ME THERE IS NO RECALL ON MY CAR AND MANUFACTURE WARRANTY IS UP TO 36K MILES, AND WELL I HAVE 85K. I HAVE GOTTEN THE REGULAR REQUIRED OIL CHANGES, FILTERS, ETC AND NEVER ONCE HAVE I RAN INTO ANY ISSUES WITH MY CAR UP UNTIL NOW. THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION.

I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE. WHILE SLOWING DOWN AND BRAKING TO A STOP THE CAR SUDDENLY SURGED FORWARD, JUMPED A CURB AND RAN INTO A ROCK RETAINING WALL. I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR, IT GAVE NO RESISTANCE AND DID NOT STOP THE CAR. THE ENGINE WAS REVVING AT A HIGH RATE, EVEN WHILE IT HIT THE WALL. THE REPAIRS WERE OVER $2000 FOR DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END, LIGHTS, AIR CONDITIONER AND RADIATOR SUPPORT. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CAR WAS ABOUT 8-10 FEET FROM THE WALL WHEN IT ACCELERATED. I HAD THE CAR REPAIRED. I TOOK IT TO A HONDA DEALER AND ALSO CONTACTED AMERICAN HONDA. BOTH THE TECHNICIANS AT THE DEALERSHIP AND AN AMERICAN HONDA INSPECTOR CHECKED THE VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD THAT OTHER THAN A FAILURE OF THE BATTERY DUE TO LOW VOLTAGE THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THE ACCIDENT. *TR

MY DAD HAD A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT LAST NIGHT. HE SAID THERE SEEMS TO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH BRAKE. WHILE HE APPLIED THE BRAKE TO SLOW DOWN BEFORE TAKING THE EXIT 9 ON I-395, THE BRAKE WAS SLIPPED AND STEERING WAS LOCKED. AS A RESULT, HE HIT A GUARD RAIL PRETTY STRONG AND THE FRONT OF THE CAR WAS DAMAGED BADLY. LIQUID WERE LEAKING AND THE CAR WAS TOWED, BUT AIR BAG DIDN'T DEPLOY. HE ALSO MENTIONED THAT THERE WAS A FEW TIMES THE CAR DOESN'T START WHILE PRESSING THE BRAKE, SO HE HAD TO PRESS THE BRAKE HARDER, AND SOMETIMES THE BRAKE SLIPPED WHILE DRIVING.

JUST BOUGHT MY 2017 HR-V AND ALREADY HAD IT TOWED AFTER PARKING IT AT MY WORKS PARKING GARAGE FOR JUST 4 HRS. THE CHECK ENGINE, AND PARKING LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE STARTED MOVING RAPIDLY BACK AND FORTH UP AND DOWN AND JUST STOPPED RIGHT IN THE DRIVE WAY ALMOST ACROSS BLOCKING TRAFFIC. MY INS COMPANY..THANK GOD PAID OVER $800.00 THIS TIME BECAUSE I WAS TOLD SOME KIND OF ANIMAL..RODENT MAYBE CHEWED ON SOME OF MY WIRES. ON TOP OF IT, I SIGHTED UP FOR CAR RENTAL UNDER THE EXTENDED PRO TECH SERVICES, SO I REMOVED THE COVERAGE FROM MY INSURANCE. SO I ENDED UP SHARING MY DAUGHTER'S CAR FOR THREE DAYS. VERY INCONVENIENT. !!! VERY DISSATISFIED..AND DISAPPOINTED. PS. I ALSO ASKED, IF THERE IS SOMETHING THEY CAN PUT ON THERE TO AVOID THIS FROM HAPPENING. I WAS TOLD "NO". JUST READ.. THERE IS A TAPE MADE BY HONDA THAT THEY TO AVOID THAT. GUESS, BETTER FOR THEM... IF THE RODENTS KEEP THEIR BUSINESS COMING IN!!!! IF NEEDED MY INC COMPANY CAN PROVIDE ANY PICTURE. A INSPECTOR ASSESSED THE DAMAGES. THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME.
