I WAS DRIVING ON A 4 LANE HIGHWAY AND CAME TO A INTERSECTION WITH TRAFFIC LIGHTS. IN MY LANE AND DIRECTION I WAS TRAVELING, THE TRAFFIC LIGHT TURN RED, WHICH IMPLIES MY VEHICLE TO STOP. I STOPPED. WHEN THE TRAFFIC LIGHT TURN GREEN, WHICH IMPLIES MY VEHICLE TO MOVE FORWARD, MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT PULL FORWARD. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THE VEHICLE, WITH SOUNDS AND FEEL OF TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, SLIPPING AND AT TIMES NOT MOVING. I BARELY MADE IT TO A SAFE PLACE , A NEAR STORE PARKING LOT, TO GET MY VEHICLE OUT OF DANGER OF A BUSY HIGHWAY INTERSECTION. I HAD TO BE TOWED TO A FRIEND'S HOME SOME 40 MILES FROM THE VEHICLE OCCURRING PROBLEM OF NOT OPERATING IN A SAFE MANNER. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT RAN SINCE. IF YOU PUT IN REVERSE OR DRIVE, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT MOVE PERIOD. THE VEHICLE IS AND HAS REMAINED IN MY YARD AT MY RESIDENT.

MY 2001 HONDA ODYSSEY WAS SHAKING AND WHEN I WOULD SHIFT IT IN GEAR AND WOULDN'T SHIFT AND IT WOULD DRIVE ROUGH. I CHANGED ALL THE SOLENOID BUT THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE. NOW I'M JUST GOING TO JUNK IT I CAN'T AFFORD PUTTING A NEW TRANSMISSION IT ONLY HAS 112,000 MILES. I ONLY USED MY HONDA TO GO TO WORK AND HOME IN THE CITY STREETS.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD NORMAL AND THE NEXT MOMENT MY FOOT WAS ON THE GAS AS NORMAL AND THE ENGINE BEGAN TO REV WITHOUT PROPELLING MY VEHICLE ANY FARTHER. I SLOWED DOWN AND THEN COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I EXPERIMENTED ONCE I WAS SAFELY OFF THE ROAD AND ATTEMPTED TO RE ENGAGE THE TRANSMISSION. IT LET ME GO FOR ANOTHER FEW MILES THEN I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME. THE NEXT DAY I STARTED TO DRIVE IT TO MY MECHANICS SHOP AND ON THE WAY IT STOPPED AND WOULD NOT GO ANYWHERE. I WAS ONLY ABOUT A MILE AND A HALF FROM MY HOME. FITTINGLY ENOUGH I HAD TO PARK IT IN THE PARKING LOT OF A BUSINESS. THAT BUSINESS WAS A FUNERAL HOME. ALL THIS TOOK PLACE ON A CITY STREET WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT IS 35 MILES PER HOUR. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO TAKE IT TO MY MECHANIC THE NEXT MORNING, I WAS BEING FOLLOWED BY A CO-WORKER WHO WAS GOING TO GIVE ME A RIDE AFTER I DROPPED IT OFF. TO BE MORE SPECIFIC ABOUT EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED, I WAS JUST DRIVING ALONG AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ENGINE ERUPTED REVVING AND AS I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS IT SLOWED OBVIOUSLY BUT THE SECOND I PRESSED ON THE PEDAL AGAIN IT WAS REV WITH NO MOTION. NOW I HAVE A VAN WITH A NEW TIMING BELT, NEW REAR BRAKE LIGHT (I PUT IN MYSELF) AND NEW ROTORS AND BRAKES AND WHEELS. WHAT A SHAME THE PUBLIC WASN'T PROTECTED FROM THIS BETTER. SHOULD BE A MANDATORY RECALL ON ALL THESE TRANSMISSIONS AND BE MADE RIGHT. MY MECHANIC CANT EVEN FIND ONE FOR LESS THAN $1500 WHICH IS INSANE. HE HAD A QUOTE FOR $2400 AND I ONLY PAID $3700 FOR THE VAN IN JUNE OF 2014. THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM WAS THE TRANSMISSION WITH OUT DOUBT.

I HAVE 115,000 MILES ON THIS VAN AND THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AND I SEEN THAT THIS HAPPENED TO A LOT OF THESE VANS I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED .

FOR THE THIRD TIME SINCE WE OWNED THE VEHICLE THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN SLIPPING AND THE VEHICLE AGAIN ISN'T DRIVABLE. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THIS Y/M/M WITH MANY COMPLAINTS. NHTSA AND HONDA NEED TO DO A RECALL. I WAS DRIVING WHEN THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND WAS LUCKY TO NOT HAVE HAD ANY CARS AROUND ME. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED WITH A RECALL AND REPLACEMENT BY HONDA. WE'RE THE ORIGINAL OWNERS AND HONDA IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AS IS NHTSA BUT NO MAJOR ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN TO RECALL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR

FRONT ENGINE MOUNT IS BROKEN ON HONDA ODYSSEY. THERE SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF OWNERS OF HONDA ODYSSEY THAT REPORT THIS PROBLEM WHEN I SEARCHED THE INTERNET. I WOULD LIKE DOT TO RESEARCH THIS ISSUE AS EXPERTS IN THIS FIELD AND DETERMINE IF THERE IS SUFFICIENT NUMBER OF CASES TO OPEN A CASE ON THIS ISSUE. I AM GETTING THIS WORK DONE IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS. POWER SLIDING DOORS UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS ARE NOT MANUALLY OPERABLE. AUTOMACTIC DOOR FUNCTION IS ACTIVATED WITH DOOR HANDLES, FROM THE DASH, OR FROM THE KEY FOB. THESE FUNCTIONS ALTERNATELY WORK POORLY OR NOT AT ALL. ON A SNOWY & ICY DAY ONE DOOR QUIT COMPLETELY AND COULD ONLY BE OPENED AND CLOSED MANUALLY. THEN THE OTHER DOOR ALSO. RESEARCHING THE ISSUE LED ME TO USER POSTED ONLINE INSTRUCTIONS INVOLVING VARIOUS COMBINATIONS OF PULLING FUSES AND TURNING SWITCHES. AFTER PULLING THE BATTERY CABLE AND LEAVING IT OFF 1 MINUTE, THEN RESTARTING THE ENGINE, THE DOOR FUNCTION WAS RESTORED. ASIDE FROM NORMAL OPERATION BEING A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT OR EMERGENCY, THE SYSTEM IS SUBJECT TO FAILURE THAT CAN BE A COSTLY VISIT TO A REPAIR SHOP OR DEALERSHIP. I HOPE LATER MODELS OF THE ODYSSEY HAVE AN IMPROVED SYSTEM IN PLACE.

The contact owns a 2001 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving at 30 MPH, she heard an abnormal sound coming from the passenger’s side of the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the passenger’s side front and rear wheel bearings had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact stated the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred on the driver’s side while driving. The contact also stated while driving, the brake pedal was depressed but hesitated to respond causing a 3-feet stopping distance delay. There were no warning lights illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 164,000.

VAN WAS PARKED AFTER A LONG TRIP (~700 MILES) AND NO TROUBLE NOTED AT THAT POINT. NEXT TIME THE VAN WAS DRIVEN THERE WAS A RUBBING SOUND WITH FREQUENCY AT TIRE SPEED AND A RATTLING SOUND. CHECKED WHEEL WELL AND FOUND PIECE OF BROKEN FRONT SPRING IN THE PASSENGER WHEEL WELL, STILL TANGLED WITH THE STRUT ASSEMBLY, WHICH WE REMOVED SO WE COULD DRIVE HOME. FORTUNATELY NO TIRE DAMAGE WAS NOTED, BUT THE SPRING LOOKS LIKE IT COULD POP OUT OF THE CONTAINING COLLAR. LOOKED LIKE A FATIGUE FRACTURE, SUSPECT IT OCCURRED DURING THE TWO WEEKS THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN AN UNHEATED BUILDING. ABOUT 3/4 TURN OF THE COIL WAS BROKEN OFF. AFRAID THE OTHER SPRING COULD GO AT ANY TIME! THIS COULD BE BAD AT HIGHWAY SPEED IF THE TIRE WAS PUNCTURED. *TR

PULLED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND HEARD A NOISE COMING FROM THE PASSENGER FRONT. HEARD IT AGAIN WHEN I CAME TO A STOP SIGN AT END OF BLOCK. EXITED VEHICLE AND COULD NOT SEE ANYTHING VISIBLE WRONG WITH TIRE. PROCEEDED 1/2 MILE DOWN NEXT STREET AND CAME TO A STOP AT LIGHT, UPON WHICH I HEARD ANOTHER NOISE FOLLOWED BY A METAL CLANK. I AGAIN EXITED MY VEHICLE AND FOUND 3/4 OF FULL COIL NEAR MY TIRE. MY CAR WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR FACILITY UPON WHICH IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER COIL HAD CRACKED AND DISLODGED FROM THE VEHICLE. TOLD I NEED TO REPLACE BOTH FRONT STRUTS/COILS AND RECOMMENDED TO REPLACE REAR SHOCKS AS WELL. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact had sustained a mild head injury. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed totaled. The VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V027000 (Air Bags). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

I RECEIVED NHTSA RECALL20V-027 FROM AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO., INC. IN OCT, 2020. I FOLLOWED INSTRUCTIONS BY CALLING LIBERTY HONDA IN HARTFORD, CT ON NOVEMBER 10TH AND WAS TOLD SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME BACK. NO ONE DID. I CALLED AGAIN ON NOVEMBER 27TH AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING. THE NOTICE SAID I COULD FILE A COMPLAINT IF THEY DID NOT RESPOND IN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME/60 DAYS. I SIMPLY WANT TO SCHEDULE THE REPAIR.

THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR WORKS FINE. *CN (THE PASSENGER SIDE POWER SLIDING DOOR CLOSES BUT NOT QUITE ALL THE WAY, IT WILL NOT "ENGAGE", OR "CATCH". THEREFORE, THE VAN THINKS THE DOOR IS STILL OPEN (OPEN DOOR LIGHT IS ON, BUZZES CONTINUALLY WHEN PUT INTO GEAR, AND INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON).

PASSENGER AUTOMATIC VAN DOOR ON 2001 HONDA ODYSSEY CONSISTENTLY REFUSES TO COMPLETELY CLOSE EVEN AFTER BEING "REPAIRED" SEVERAL TIMES. DOOR HAS ACTUALLY COME OPEN AFTER VEHICLE IS IN DRIVE. I HAD TO PHYSICALLY HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED WITH FOUR CHILDREN IN THE VAN, TILL MY HUSBAND FOUND A SAFE PLACE TO STOP ON THE SIDE OF HIGHWAY. THE SLIDING DOORS ON OUR 2001 HONDA ODYSEY EX WILL NOT REMAIN CLOSED AND OFTEN OPEN SLIGHTLY WHILE DRIVING, TRIGGERING THE INTERIOR BUZZER SYSTEM. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS OFF AND ON DURING RANDOM OCCASIONS WITH NO APPARENT WARNING OR CAUSE. YESTERDAY (6/19/2013) THE SAME DEALER DURING THE SAFETY INSPECTION SERVICE CALLED TO INFORM THE VAN IS FAILING THE SAFETY INSPECTION DUE TO REAR ENGINE MOUNT CRACK. CONSIDERING THE EXPENSE AND EXPERIENCE ABOUT ANOTHER VEHICLE DIAGNOSIS, I PREFERRED TO HOLD THE REPAIR AND INVESTIGATE FURTHER. AFTER READING THE ON-LINE BLOGS AND CARTALK WEBSITE, IT SEEMS THE HONDA ODYSSEY VANS HAS THIS RECURRING PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE MOUNT FAILURES. APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES AFTER I LEFT THE SHOP, THE FIRST SIGN APPEARED WITH MY RPM REVVING UP TO 5K BEFORE SHIFTING INTO 2ND GEAR. I STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT BRIEFLY. WHEN I STARTED TO GO FORWARD, THE VAN BUMPED AND HESITATED BEFORE GETTING IN TO GEAR AND BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE FORWARD. THIS CONTINUED AT THE NEXT TWO STOP LIGHTS BACK TO THE SHOP. I HAVE ALSO TOLD THE NIGHTMARE OF TRANSMISSION FAILURE AND WE ALL HAVE BEEN KILLED ON HIGHWAY. THE PEOPLE IN HONDA SAID--SORRY TO HEAR THAT BUT WE WON'T HELP YOU NEITHER WE ARE SUPPOSED TO GIVE YOU ANY EXPLANATION. IN APRIL 2009, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT(CEL) CAME ON WHILE DRIVING AND THE CAR STALLED WHEN I STOPPED. IT RESTARTED AND WOULD REPEAT THIS WITH EACH STOP. I TOOK IT TO MY USUAL GARAGE (THE LIGHT WENT OFF ON THE WAY THERE!) AND THEY SAID THE ONLY CODE THAT COME UP WAS P0172 FOR RICH FUEL, THEY PUT FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER IN THE GAS AND IT DROVE FINE--WHICH IT DOES WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT OFF. IN MAY, THE CAR 'S CEL WAS STILL SPORADICALLY COMING ON AND STALLING,AND I CALLED THE 800# FOR HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SPOKE WITH A RIANO. WHEN I TOLD HIM OF MY CAR'S SYMPTOMS AND ASKED IF THERE WERE ANY KNOWN PROBLEMS GOING ON OR RECALLS ABOUT THIS HE SAID "NO", AND TO JUST TAKE IT TO THE DEALER FOR A CHECK. AS THE LIGHT WAS OFF AT THAT POINT AND WHAT I'D GONE THROUGH AT THE OTHER GARAGE I DECIDED TO WAIT UNTIL THE LIGHT WAS ON. ON JULY 20TH, I WAS SURFING THE INTERNET FOR SOLUTIONS TO THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND THE DOT SITE WHICH MENTIONED THE EGR VALVE PROBLEM AND THE EXTENDED WARRANTY OF 8 YRS AND 80,000 MILES FOR REPLACEMENT BY HONDA. MY MILEAGE HAD JUST PASSED 80,000 THAT WEEKEND. I CALLED THE 800# FOR HONDA AND SPOKE WITH A BRIAN WHO STATED THAT MY CAR HAD BEEN MADE JUNE 26, 2001 AND IT WAS TOO LATE FOR ME TO BE COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY EXTENSION. I TOOK IT TO BILL PAGE HONDA IN FALLS CHURCH, VA, (CEL STILL OFF AT THIS TIME) , THEY SAID IT WAS THE EGR VALVE PLUS A THIRD PRESSURE SWITCH. IF I'D BEEN TOLD OF THE EGR PROBLEM IN MAY WHEN I ASKED RIANO I WOULD HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN THEN AND BEEN WELL UNDER THE TIME AND MILEAGE FOR THE REPLACEMENT. I HAD A 2001 HONDA ODYSSEY WITH 169,000 MILES ON IT. I WAS THE ONLY OWNER, AND IT WAS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. ON JAN, 6, 2011 AT 12:50 IN THE AFTERNOON I WAS SOUTHBOUND ON I-43 IN MILWAUKEE AND EXITED AT THE MCKINLEY/FOND DU LAC EXIT. DESPITE REPEATEDLY PUMPING AND PRESSING ON THE BRAKES, I WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VAN. I WAS ABLE TO SLOW IT DOWN WITH GREAT EFFORT, BUT WAS UNABLE TO FULLY STOP IT. IN ORDER TO AVOID DRIVING INTO CROSS-TRAFFIC ON FOND D LAC AVE. AT THE LIGHT AT THE BOTTOM ON THE EXIT RAMP, I TURNED UP ONTO A SIDEWALK/GRASSY AREA. THE VAN SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND, IN ORDER TO STOP IT, I INTENTIONALLY DROVE IT INTO AN ABUTMENT/CONCRETE WALL THAT IS PART ON AN UNDERPASS THAT GOES UNDER I-43. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP OUR 2001 ODYSSEY IN MY SON'S SCHOOL PARKING LOT THE BRAKE PEDAL--WITHOUT ANY PRIOR WARNING--WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I COASTED PAST MY INTENDED STOPPING POINT BY ABOUT 20 FEET. THE NEXT DAY MY MECHANIC EXAMINED THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER AND FOUND BRAKE FLUID LEAKING INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. HE EXPLAINED THAT WHEN THE SEALS ON THE MASTER CYLINDER LEAK THE FLUID COLLECTS IN THE BRAKE BOOSTER. TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM HE HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE MASTER CYLINDER. HE THOUGHT THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS VERY VERY UNUSUAL. HE SPECIALIZES IN IMPORTED VEHICLES AND HAD NEVER BEFORE REPLACED A LEAKING MASTER CYLINDER ON A HONDA ODYSSEY OF ANY MODEL YEAR. MY CAR, 2001 HONDA ODYSSEY, WITH 110,000 MILES HAS TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. THE DASHBOARD INDICATORS FOR THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM (TCS), ENGINE, AND GEAR (DRIVE SIGN) WERE ALL FLASHING. THE CAR'S GEARS SEEM TO BE SLIPPING WHEN THE CAR IS COLD OR ON IDLE TOO MUCH. I HAD A NON-HONDA MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND HE TOLD ME IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION WITH A REPAIR COST OF $2400. IT DOES NOT SEEM RIGHT THAT HONDA DOES NOT TAKE LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE TRANSMISSION.

MY 2001 HONDA ODYSSEY HAS HAD 3 FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATORS FAILURES. THE VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN IN MOTION WHEN THE DRIVER OR PASSENGER WINDOW SUDDENLY DROPS INTO THE DOOR FRAME. IT IS SUDDEN, LOUD, AND IS A SAFETY HAZARD WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THIS PROBLEM AS DOCUMENTED ON SEVERAL HONDA FORUMS AND GOOGLE SEARCHES. AFTER PULLING OFF THE FREEWAY, I ATTEMPTED TO MANUALLY REPOSITION THE WINDOW TO NO AVAIL. I HAD TO SLOWLY DRIVE BACK HOME AND PARK THE MINIVAN UNTIL MY MECHANIC COULD REPAIR THE PROBLEM. THE MECHANIC HAD TO REPLACE THE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR AT A COST OF $200 FOR PARTS AND LABOR. ON DECEMBER 20, 2014, THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED ON THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW. THIS TIME THE COST AT THE DEALER WAS $340. I RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT MANY HONDA ODYSSEY OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS INHERENT PROBLEM. SHE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING A LEFT TURN FROM ACADEMY ROAD (IN ALBUQUERQUE), ONTO VENTURA (NORTH) WHEN SUDDENLY THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW IMPLODED INTO A PILE OF GLASS, ALL OVER THE CAR. MY WIFE THOUGHT THE WINDOW HAD BEEN SHOT OUT OR OTHERWISE MALICIOUSLY DESTROYED FROM SOME EXTERNAL SOURCE, AND IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE POLICE FORTUNATELY NO ONE WAS SEATED IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE POWER SLIDING DOOR FAILS TO OPEN ELECTRONICALLY, EITHER THROUGH THE REMOTE, THE DRIVER'S CONTROLS ON THE DASH, OR THE HANDLES (BOTH INTERIOR & EXTERIOR) ON THE DOOR. THIS ONLY AFFECTS ONE DOOR (SO FAR). THE DEALER SAYS THAT WASHERS HAVE TO BE ATTACHED TO FOUR GROUNDING WIRES INSIDE THE DOOR IN ORDER FOR THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUITRY TO WORK CORRECTLY, AT A COST OF $240. IT IS ALREADY OUT OF WARRANTY, BUT IT SEEMS THAT I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY TO REPAIR WHAT APPEARS TO BE A DEFECT IN EITHER THE DESIGN OR MANUFACTURING OF THE VEHICLE.

I PURCHASED OUR 2001 ODYSSEY VAN IN NOVEMBER OF 2000. I USED THE VAN ONLY IN THE CITY WITH LOW MILEAGE ABOUT 83,300 MILES. RECENTLY, I HAD MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GO ON, AND SOMETIMES THE TCS LIGHT TO GO ON AND D4 LIGHT FLASHING. I FELT THE VAN WAS SLIPPING IN/OUT OF GEAR AND NOT UNDER CONTROL. (2001 ODYSSEY-ONE OWNER)-TCS AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH AT 72,000 MILES/7 YRS & 5 MONTHS ON THE ROAD. VAN STALLED/HARD SHIFTING AND WAS DRIVEN TO NEARBY AUTO REPAIR SHOP. DIAGNOSIS WAS TRANSMISSION FAILURE. TOWED TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP. HONDA REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION UNDER WARRANTY, HOWEVER SUGGESTED REPLACING THE TIMING BELT AND WATER PUMP AS WELL. POWER STEERING CABLE ALSO FOUND TO BE CORRODED. $850 TOTAL. TCS AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN ON 9-2011 WITH 102,000 MILES WITH SOME HESITATION AND A GRINDING NOISE HEARD. THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT CAME ON (A $1,500 REPAIR) FOR THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACEMENT AND THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED (AT 93K). APPARENTLY THESE ARE BOTH INCREASINGLY COMMON PROBLEMS IN THIS MODEL. IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE THAT MY VAN CARRIES THE HONDA NAME. THEN I STARTED GOOGLING AND FOUND MANY SITES REPORTING THE SAME HORROR STORIES HERE I REALIZED THAT MANY OF THESE VEHICLES WERE MANUFACTURED WITH FAULTY PARTS AND MAY BE A LEMONS AS WELL? THE PROSPECT TO PAYING $100 EVERY TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNS ON IS NOT A PLEASANT ONE. VEHICLES BUILT TODAY SHOULD NOT REQUIRE TRANSMISSIONS & EMISSION CONVERTER AT A MERE 93,000 MILES. ODYSSEY HAD 85,517 AT THE TIME OF INCIDENT. IGNITION KEY WAS REMOVABLE WITH SHIFT LEVER OUT OF PARK. THE DEALER REPLACED SWITCH AT "MY" EXPENSE. NHTSA IN NOVEMBER OF 2007 HAD ISSUED A RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER O3V422000 ON THE IGNITION SWITCHES FOR THE HONDA ACCORDS (1998-2001) WITH MENTION OF SOME ODYSSEYS AND ACURAS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE CAMPAIGN. SINCE THAT TIME THEY HAVE HAD A RECALL WITH THEIR 2003-04 PILOTS (CAMPAIGN #S73/SERVICE BULLETIN #13-011) FOR THIS SAME IGNITION SWITCH PROBLEMS. I CONTACTED HONDA VIA A LETTER ON JULY 17, 2013 ASKING FOR CONSIDERATION FOR A REFUND CITING THE ABOVE MENTIONED DOCUMENTS/CAMPAIGNS, ETC. HONDA OF AMERICA CONTACTED ME VIA THE PHONE WITHIN A WEEK AND STATED THAT THE VAN NOW HAS OVER 150,000 MILES AND THAT THE VAN WOULD HAVE TO BE UNDER 70,000 IN MILEAGE. I THEN ASKED WHY THEN THEY WOULD BE RECALLING THE 2003-2004 PILOTS AND THAT THERE WOULD BE NO WAY ANY OF THOSE VEHICLES WOULD MEET THE CRITERIA OF 70,000 MILES. THEY HAD NO ANSWER BUT SIMPLY DENIED MY CLAIM. FYI. MY VAN HAS HAD THREE TRANSMISSION REPLACED. FIRST TIME AT 30,000, THEN AT 65,000 AND THEN THE LAST TIME JUST AFTER 100,000. 2001 HONDA ODYSSEY REAR PASSENGER DOORS DO NOT CLOSE OR FULLY RETRACT. MY WIFE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE HONDA DEALER AND IT WE RECEIVED AN INITIAL ESTIMATE OF $415 TO REPAIR. WE RECEIVED A REVISED ESTIMATE OF $717 TO REPLACE THE RIGHT SIDE DOOR SWITCH FOLLOWED BY A THIRD REVISION OF $1033 TO REPLACE THE CONTROL UNIT. A FOURTH REVISION TOTALING $1955 WAS RECEIVED TO REPLACE THE RIGHT SIDE DOOR MOTOR. THIS DID NOT FULLY CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE DOOR OPEN ALARM CONTINUES TO SOUND. THE RECOMMENDED CORRECTIVE ACTION NOW IS TO REPLACE THE INTERIOR WIRE HARNESS. THIS WILL BE AN ADDITIONAL COST. RECENTLY, THE VEHICLE BLEW A FUSE WHICH OPERATES THE RADIO AND OVERHEAD LIGHTS. EVERY TIME THE FUSE WAS REPLACED, IT BLEW AGAIN. I HAD MY MECHANIC INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM. HE TRACED THE WIRE FROM THE FUSE BOX TO LOCATE THE ELECTRICAL SHORT. HE DISCOVERED THAT THE PLASTIC CLIP THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE HOLDING THE ELECTRICAL WIRES BROKE AND THE ELECTRICAL WIRES ARE LAYING ON A HOT PART OF THE CAR AND ALL THE WIRES MELTED TOGETHER AND EXPOSED THE WIRES. I OWN A 2001 HONDA ODYSSEY. I HAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS IN 2006 THAT ENDED IN THE DEALERSHIP REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION. I HAD 53,000 MILES ON IT. LAST WEEK (1/3/11), THE 2ND TRANSMISSION FAILED. I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ACCELERATING UP A HILL WHEN I LOST ALL FORWARD GEARS. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK. ALL OF MY FORWARD GEARS WERE GONE. WE HAVE A 2001 HONDA ODYSSEY LX. THE POWER SLIDING DOOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE SUDDENLY QUIT WORKING AND WILL NO LONGER CLOSE PROPERLY. THE ONLY WAY WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING THE CAR WITHOUT THE INCESSANT ALARM IS TO SHUT OFF THE POWER SLIDING DOOR FUNCTION AND TRY TO KEEP IT SHUT. THERE ARE SEVERAL POTENTIALLY BIG PROBLEMS WITH THIS. NUMBER ONE - THE KIDS CANNOT OPEN THE DOOR MANUALLY, IT IS TOO HEAVY FOR THEM. THE ONLY OPTION THEY HAVE TO EXIT THE CAR IS ON THE TRAFFIC SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOORS BOTH STOPPED FUNCTIONING. I LEARNED THAT THEY COULD BE RESET BY REMOVING FUSE #13 FOR A FEW SECONDS AND REPLACING IT. I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AT A RED STOP LIGHT. THE LIGHT HAD TURNED GREEN AND I PROCEEDED TO GO AND PUSHED THE GAS, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. I TURNED THE VAN OFF AND ON BY THE IGNITION A FEW TIMES THINKING IT WAS SOMETHING OTHER THAN A TRANSMISSION GEAR ISSUE. I SAT THERE FOR A FEW MINUTES AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON, IT CAUGHT GEAR SO I PROCEEDED TOWARDS WORK. LUCKILY I WAS ONLY A HALF BLOCK FROM MY JOB. AS I WAS PULLING IN THE TRANSMISSION HAD SLIPPED AGAIN AND I BARELY COASTED INTO A PARKING SPACE. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE WE GOT THE VEHICHLE TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE; WE JUST BEGAN TO DESCRIBE THE PROBLEM WHEN THEY SAID IT WOULD NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION, AS IF THEY HAD SEEN THE PROBLEM MANY TIMES BEFORE. WHEN QUESTIONED THEY DENIED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH ODYSSEY TRANSMISSIONS, ALTHOUGH THEY DID SAY THAT THEIR ODYSSEY SHUTTLEVAN (SAME YR/MODEL) HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED THE PRIOR WEEK. WHILE CONDUCTING A SEARCH ON THE INTERNET, WE FOUND DOZENS OF INSTANCES OF ODYSSEY TRANSMISSION FAILURES, ALL WITH REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION AS THE REMEDY. WHILE IN OUR CASE THIS WAS DONE UNDER WARRANTY AT NO CHARGE, WE ARE CONCERNED THAT THIS IS A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM THAT CAN EASILY LEAD TO A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT. *AK

THE REAR BUMPER BEAM ON MY 2001 HONDA ODYSSEY RUSTED AND BROKE UP INTO PIECES THAT HAVE FALLEN OUT FROM UNDER THE BUMPER COVER. I ASSUME THAT I NO LONGER HAVE FULL REAR END CRASH PROTECTION. MY MECHANIC SUGGESTED THAT SINCE THIS IS A SAFETY RELATED FAILURE, I SHOULD SEE ABOUT HAVING THE MANUFACTURER REPLACE IT FOR ME. THEY REFERRED ME TO MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALER REFERRED ME TO THEIR PREFERRED BODY SHOP FOR AN ESTIMATE. OUR VAN HAS 79,000 MILES. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON 3 WEEKS AGO TO REPLACE A PRESSURE SWITCH ON THE TRANSMISSION. 2 DAYS AFTER REPLACEMENT, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN, DEALER TELLS US THAT WHOLE TRANSMISSION NEEDS REPLACEMENT. 2006: NOTIFIED BY HONDA CORP THAT OUR VEHICLE MAY HAVE A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION TOOK TO SIM FRYSON HONDA, WINCHESTER AVENUE, ASHLAND, KY FOR EVALUATION - DETERMINED TO BE PART OF RECALL.AND TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED DUE TO TORQUE CONVERTER SOLENOID MALFUNCTION, HOWEVER, . VEHICLE SHIFTED HARD AND A MADE A "WHIRRING NOISE". WE ADVISED THE DEALER OF THIS ON AT LEAST 3 OCCASIONS BUT WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS REPLACED WITH AN HONDA PART AS INSTRUCTED BY HONDA. THIS DEALERSHIP WAS SOLD AND THE SUBSEQUENT OWNER FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY AND WOULD NOT LISTEN TO OUR COMPLAINTS. DURING THE FALL, 2010 WE NOTICED THE CAR WAS BEGINNING TO SHIFT EVEN MORE HARDER AND SEEMED TO STALL BEFORE GOING INTO GEAR BUT IRONICALLY WHEN THE WEATHER WAS WARMER IT WOULD BEHAVE OKAY. HOWEVER, IN JANUARY 2011 IT WOULD NOT INITIALLY GO INTO GEAR AND WE THOUGHT IT WAS THE GEAR SHIFTING LEVER THAT WAS PERHAPS OUT OF SYNC AND TOOK IT TO MOSES HONDA, RT. 60, HUNTINGTON, WV SINCE THE OTHER DEALER WAS OUT OF BUSINESS. MOSES TESTED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG, HOWEVER, IT CONTINUED TO OFF AND ON BEHAVE THE SAME WAY. WE AGAIN HAD MOSES TO TEST IT IN MARCH/APRIL 2011 AND WAS TOLD THEN THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAILING. WE CONTACTED THE ASHLAND KENTUCKY DEALERSHIP (NOW REOPENED) AND WAS TOLD THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED IN JANUARY AND TO CONTACT HONDA FOR ADDITIONAL INFO. WE HAVE ATTEMPTED TO SPEAK WITH HONDA SEVERAL TIMES AND WILL NOT DISCUSS NOR RETURN CALLS TO US. TL- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE TO ACCELERATE WHEN PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE TORQUE CONVERTER WAS REPLACED INSTEAD OF REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION AS IT WAS RECOMMENDED BY THE MECHANIC, BUT HONDA MOTOR CO HAD THE FINAL WORD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY STALLED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ONCE INVOLVED IN A CRASH IN WHICH THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 11V260000 (AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:DRIVER SIDE INFLATOR MODULE). FORTUNATELY, DUE TO THE SOFT UNDERNEATH OF THE LOAD THE VEHICLE ROOF WAS NOT DAMAGED DUE TO THE LOAD SLIDING OFF THE ROOF. HONDA ELECTED TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY BUT HONDA USA AND THE DEALER (HONDA OF MIDDLETOWN, NY) STATE THERE WAS NO RECALL AS THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. WE BEG TO DIFFER IN THAT HAVING YOUR WHEELS LOCK UP AT NORMAL DRIVING SPEEDS, ESPECIALLY IN TRAFFIC INCLUDING INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS CONSTITUTES A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS DOES LOSS OF POWER IN CONGESTED TRAFFIC AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN SLIPPING BETWEEN THE 2ND AND 3RD GEARS. BEFORE MY TRANSMISSION OVERHAUL, MY ODYSSEY WOULD SLIP GEARS AND MAKE A THUMP SOUND UPON INITIAL ACCELERATION AND SUBSEQUENT INCREASES IN SPEED. THE CHECK ENGINE AND TCS LIGHTS WOULD COME ON AND STAY LIT. AFTER THE OVERHAUL, I FOUND OUT THERE WERE BULLETINS OUT ON PARTS THAT WERE DEFECTIVE AND WITH REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSIONS ADDITIONAL COOLING AND FILTERS HAD TO BE REPLACED, AS WELL AS ADDITIONAL CHANGES. A YEAR AFTER THE OVERHAUL, STARTED HAVING THE SAME SLIPPAGE AND SOUNDS FROM THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN. THIS TIME, WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING AT 70MPH, MY BACK WINDOW GETS COVERED UP BY AN OILY DISCOLORED SUBSTANCE. IT WAS TO THE POINT I COULD NOT SEE OUT THE REAR WINDOW. THE SMELL OF BURNED RUBBER OR TAR WAS COMING THROUGH THE VENT AND THE A/C OR HEAT WAS NOT ON. MY RPM NEEDLE STARTED SHIFTING UP FROM 3 TO 5 AND BOUNCING BACK BETWEEN THEM, THEN DOWN TO 2 AND THEN FINALLY BACK TO 3....WITH NO CHANGE IN SPEED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND TCS LIGHTS COME ON AND STAY LIT. MY BRAKES TENDED TO BE A LITTLE SOFT THEN A LITTLE HARD. CALLED A MECHANIC THAT I KNEW WAS AVAILABLE AND WORKED ON TRANSMISSIONS AND ASKED HIM WHAT TO DO AND HE SAID GET OFF THE ROAD FAST AND CHECK YOUR FLUID LEVELS. MY ODYSSEY HAD SPIT OUT ALL THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND SOME OIL THROUGHOUT THE ENGINE, UNDERNEATH AND BACK ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE AREA. IF IT HAD NOT BEEN FOR THE FACT THAT I WAS EXTREMELY FAMILIAR WITH MY VAN (SINGLE OWNER) AND PAID ATTENTION TO THE LAST PROBLEMS I HAD, I MIGHT HAVE LOCKED UP IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND MAY NOT HAVE LIVED TO SEE ANOTHER DAY. *TR

THE 2001 HONDA ODYSSEY STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS OF STALLING WHILE DRIVING ON 01/15/10. WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN ON 01/20/10, WE BROUGHT IT TO A HONDA DEALER FOR EXAMINATION. USING THE VEHICLE DAILY UNDER NORMAL CITY DRIVING CONDITIONS AROUND A SMALL TOWN NOISE WAS HEARD EMANATING FROM THE FRONT SUSPENSION. INSPECTION OF THE EQUIPMENT FOUND BOTH FRONT COIL SPRINGS BROKEN AND THE UPPER TURNING BEARINGS DAMAGED DUE TO THE COIL SPRING FRACTURES. THE USAGE OF THE VEHICLE AS A GROCERY GETTER DOES EXPLAIN A POSSIBLE CAUSE FOR THE FAILURE AND THE ONLY POSSIBLE EXPLANATION IS A DEFECT IN THE MATERIAL. NO INJURIES OCCURRED. WE OWN A 2001 HONDA ODYSSEY MINI-VAN WHICH WE PURCHASED NEW IN APRIL 2001. WE HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE GEARS SHIFTING AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS ONLY TO BE TOLD THERE IS NO ISSUE. FINALLY, WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON, THE DEALER CONCEDED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAS 77,000 MILES AND WAS STILL UNDER THE EXTENDED TRANSMISSION WARRANTY. HOWEVER, THE DEALER THAN TOLD US THAT THE ENGINE MOUNTS NEED TO BE REPLACED AS WELL. IN READING THE STRINGS ON THE NHTSA ODI WEBSITE, IT LOOKS LIKE THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT EXISTS ACROSS THE 2001 MODELS. IT SEEMS THAT MY HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM AND ONLY BRIGHT WHEN I USE MY HIGH BEAMS. MY HONDA SEEMS TO CUT OFF BY ITSELF AND I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE BATTERY TESTED AND IT SEEMS NOT TO REPLICATE ITS ACTIONS FOR THEM. AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOORS APPLY DANGEROUS PRESSURE TO PEOPLE BEFORE RETRACTING. I HAVE BEEN HURT TWICE BY BEING CRUSHED AND BRUISED BY DOORS CLOSING ON MY BODY WHEN DOOR WAS ACCIDENTLY ACTIVATED WHILE LOADING CHILDREN AND PASSENGERS. THE SENSOR TO RETRACT DOES NOT OPERATE AS INDICATED BY MANUFACTURER. THIS DEFECT POSES SERIOUS DANGER TO CHILDREN. ALSO, BOTH SLIDING DOORS HAVE BEEN MALFUNCTIONING SINCE OCT 2002. WILL ALMOST CLOSE, THEN RETRACT WITH NOTHING OBSTRUCTING THEM. DEALER HAS ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THIS MALFUNCTION FOUR TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR STARTING AT 25,000 MILES WITH NO SUCCESS. FAULTY JUNCTION SWITCHES HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND DOORS REHONED BUT MALFUNCTIONS CONTINUE TO HAPPEN APPROX EVERY COUPLE MONTHS AND MILEAGE IS NOW AT 38,000. DRIVER SIDE WINDOW IS VERY SLOW TO RAISE. FAULTY REGULATOR WAS REPLACED OCT, 2002. ALMOST A YEAR LATER, THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO OCCUR WITH DEALER SAYING IT JUST NEEDS CLEANING. THREE REPAIR ATTEMPTS WER MADE AND A/C STILL FAILED TO COOL PROPERLY. NOTIFIED MFG. FOR FINAL REPAIR ATTEMP. COMPLETE A/C SYSTEM WAS REPLACED. UPON COMPLETION OF REPAIR, VEHICLE WAS RELEASED WITH A/C DRAIN TUBE RUBBING & DRAINING ON STEERING RACK BOOT, COOLANT RESERVOIR LEFT EMPTY, COOLANT SYSTEM LEAKING AND RIGHT FRONT DOOR BODY SEAL DAMAGED. 3. PULLEY SYSTEM-VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO DEALERSHIPS 5 TIMES FOR ABNORMAL NOISES & VIBRATIONS FROM CRANKSHAFT PULLEY SYSTEM. TENSIONER PULLEY REPLACED TWICE, CRANKSHAFT PULLEY & ALTERNATOR BELT REPLACED X 1. NOTIFIED MFG. FOR FINAL REPAIR ATTEMPT. CONDITION CONFIRMED. OUR VEHICLE WAS COMPARED TO LIKE VEHICLES, YEAR 2000 & 2002. MFG STATED "OUR VEHICLE IS OPERATING AS DESIGNED." VEHICLE RELEASED WITH CONDITION UNREPAIRED & TRANSMISSION INOPERABLE IN D3, 2ND & 1ST DRIVE GEARS. PLEASE HELP! OUR VEHICLE IS NOT EVEN 1 YEAR OLD YET. IT ONLY HAS 13,500 MILES ON IT. 4. RIGHT/LEFT FRONT DOORS-VEHICLE HAD EXCESSIVE INTERNAL WIND NOISE @ HIGHWAY SPEEDS UNTIL BOTH FRONT DOOR WEATHER-STRIPS WERE REPLACED. 5. HOOD LATCH-COULD NOT OPEN HOOD ON VEHICLE TO REPLACE WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID AFTER REPLACEMENT OF A/C COMPRESSOR & CONDENSER. HAD TO RETURN VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP TO HAVE HOODLATCH REPLACED. 6. COOLANT SYSTEM-FLUID WAS DISSIPATING FROM COOLANT SYSTEM RESERVOIR. FOUR TIMES A HONDA REPRESENTITIVE HS STATED"IT'S NORMAL FOR ALL ODYSSEY'S TO DO THIS." FOUR REPAIR ATTEMPS WERE MADE BEFORE COOLANT LEAK WAS IDENTIFIED & RADIATOR HOSE WAS REPLACED. WHEN VEHICLE WAS RETURNED, CLIPS WERE MISSING FROM BOTTOM SPLASH SHIELD. 6.COOLANT SYSTEM CONTINUED FROM ODI #760344. THIS LEFT SPLASH SHIELD LOOSE,VIBRATING & AT RISK OF COMING OFF, CAUSING RISK OF ACCIDENT/INJURY. IS IT POSSIBLE TO REQUIRE THAT HONDA SERVICE PERSONNEL ATTEND ADDITIONAL IN SERVICE TRAINING ON AUTOMOBILE COOLANT SYSTEMS? SO THAT CONSUMERS ARE NOT EXPOSED TO PREVENTABLE HAZARDS, EXAMPLES BEING: BREATHING COOLANT FUMES, INJURIES FROM ENGINE OVERHEATING, SLIPPERY SURFACES & ENVIRONMENTAL DANGERS TO UNDERGROUND WATER SUPPLIES FROM COOLANT RUN OFF. 7. RIGHT/LEFT SLIDING DOORS-RIGHT/LEFT SLIDING DOORS FAIL TO OPEN UPON PULLING OF HANDLES AS DESIGNED. THREE TIMES OUR VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO DEALERSHIP FOR ABOVE COMPLAINT,AFTER SERVICE BULLETIN 00-0091 WAS ISSUED BEFORE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED AS PER BULLETIN. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH A NUMBER OF OTHER HONDA LX OWNERS WHO STTED THEY HAVE SAME PROBLEM WITH BEING UNABLE TO OPEN THE SLIDING DOORS. WHEN THEY TOOK VEHICLES TO DEALERSHIP DOOR SEALS WERE LUBRICATED, BUT PROBLEM CONTINUES TO EXIST. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS THESE VEHICLES ARE USED TO TRANSPORT CHILDREN TO & FROM SCHOOL AND BECAUSE THE SLIDING DOOR WON'T OPEN, CHILDREN MUST ENTER AREA OF TRAFFIC FLOW TO ENTER VEHICLE, INCREASING RISK OF INJURY. SLIDING DOORS CAN & WILL OEN WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTIION, DUE TO INABILITY TO FULLY OPEN/CLOSE SLIDING DOORS VIA HANDLES AS DESIGNED. 8.TRANSMISSION-I COMPLAINED OF GRINDING NOISE WHEN VEHICLE ACCELERATES FROM 40TO50MPH. RPM'S GO UP TO 2000 UPON ACCELERATION, AFTER REACHING 50MPH, RPM'S DROP TO BETWEEN1500 TO 1700 AND GRINDING IS HEARD. EXPLAINED TO DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES & TEST DROVE WITH SERVICE ADVISOR, WAS TOLD HE HEARD NOTHING & VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. AFTER FINAL REPAIR/VEHICLE DEFECT NOTIFICATION INSPECTION/REPAIR WAS PERFORMED, VEHICLE CONTINUES TO HAVE GRINDING NOISE AT 50MPH & WAS RETURNED TO US WITH TRANMISSION SHIFTER INOPERABLE IN D3, 2ND & 1ST DRIVE GEARS. WE ARE NOTIFYING YOU OF WHAT WE FEEL ARE THE DANGEROUS CONDITIONS IN WHICH OUR VEHICLE IS IN.

SEATBELTS WILL NOT RETRACT. DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT DOES NOT RETRACT CORRECTLY. INSTEAD OF DOOR OPENING IT PRESSES FORWARD. *AK SEAT BELT REPLACED THREE TIMES BECAUSE BELT CONTINUED TO COME OUT UNTIL MAXIMUM LENGTH AND WOULD NOT RETRACT. AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOOR WAS BROKE.
