I own a 2019 Honda Passport. There is a safety concern when it comes to THE IDLE STOP feature. If I do not immediately turn this feature off after starting the vehicle, the car will shut off at a traffic light and stall. It takes up to a minute for the vehicle and operator to register that the vehicle is no longer operable. The vehicle must be manually put into park, restarted, and then put into drive before the vehicle can be driven. This has happened so many times that this stop feature is now destroying my starter and will have to be replaced immediately to avoid being stranded at an intersection or somewhere not safe to exit the vehicle. My 18-year-old daughter had a panic attack, not knowing what to do, and became very upset when she was not able to drive after a light turned green. Vehicles behind her continuously honk at her and drive aggressively around her. The Honda Stop Idle must be listed as a recall immediately to eliminate a potential fatal risk due to a misunderstanding at an intersection. My daughter refuses to drive this vehicle until the feature is repaired. I feel Honda should be held responsible for a feature that is not necessary to operate a vehicle. It's an option that is an inconvenience to the owner/operator. I am looking for this part to be added to a recall so that I can have the part replaced at no cost to me.

I was at a stoplight on a bridge in a left turning lane for ramp entry onto an interstate. I was going zero mph, with foot on brake. My auto idle stop was engaged. When the light turned green, I took my foot off the brake. At that moment my engine did NOT restart, instead my car stalled. Cars were coming up behind me going 45-50 mph as they saw the light was green. It was very scary, as I thought I would get rear-ended. I had to step on my brake, turn off car, then step on brake again to restart the car. I cannot trust the auto idle stop feature. At this point I try to always turn that feature off upon start-up. (1) to avoid the above situation and (2) to avoid breakdown of key components especially the starter.

Car does not restart after auto-stop leaving car stranded at times in an intersection or stop and start highway traffic. It will restart after putting the car in park and waiting several seconds. One instance I had to get a jump. After getting a new battery, it still occurred. Battery showed dead cells so had to get it replaced again (on warranty). Issue is still occurring when forgetting to disable auto-stop

The Auto Idle stop, turned off the car at a busy intersection, I was able to restart the car and took it in to the dealer. They installed a new battery, which has been working for about a year, then yesterday the AIS caused the car to stop again at a stop light and again today when I was waiting to make a left turn. Each time it has stopped it has taken longer to get the car to restart. This is a very scary situation when driving in traffic with my grandchild in the car. It seems unlikely that I need another new battery. The car only has 55,000 miles. I will be taking the car in again, but doing my research on this issue I find it is a very big problem with this model of car, so I wanted to add my issues to the count, so hopefully something will be done to solve the problem before there is a major crash.

Hello, I have put 3 batteries in this vehicle so far and it is a 2019 model year. In April, the car died while my wife was stopped at a light in the middle of town. I could not do anything...put it in gear..nothing...could not even open the door locks. I had to crawl into the back of the vehicle over the seats to get to the booster cable in very rear of the car. I was able to boost the battery and get it started after watching 100's of cars drive directly by me and around me while the car was stuck. It was a little dangerous. An automotive shop replaced the battery. the manufacture date on the battery is 2/25. My wife went the start the vehicle today...6-19-25 and the battery was dead again. There is something wrong here! I looked at the website for recalls and the only thing that comes up is the fuel pump recall which I tried to schedule several months ago and they did not have the part. Please make Honda expand this recall and make them responsible for this problem until we are sure it is fixed. This really should be covered at no cost. thank you! Rear camera is malfunctioning. The view is blurry and frequently distorts to a green saturation removing visibility to the rear of the vehicle. This is a major safety hazard as the visibility is unpredictable and is obstructs the critical view behind the vehicle. Previously there was no issue. The issue only started occurring after a recall replacement was performed in December ‘23 for a similar issue. Previous recall info: RECALL 23-047 FAKRA CABLE INSPECTION Cause: FAKRA CONNECTORS UPDATE Correction: FAKRA CONNECTORS UPDATE OP CODE # 0101T0 1.70 - The replacement from recall or camera is faulty and needs replacement. Honda is stating they will not take action without a diagnosis which they are stating will cost $200 to the consumer. Please help protect the consumer here as it appears Honda is well aware of the issue persisting beyond the previous recall and purposefully not taking action.

On 10/16/2025 at 1:30 AM, I was driving home from work on the I-94 freeway in Wisconsin from my work in Franklin, WI to my home in Union Grove, WI. I was driving at the speed limit, which was 70 Mph. I started to hear a ticking sound coming from the engine, and then the check engine light started to flash. The car then began a rapid speed decrease. I started to move from to the right-hand side of the road when the car stopped ticking and the check engine light went out and began to accelerate again. The sudden deceleration and acceleration on a major highway that had many other vehicles around me was very dangerous. I drove the car to my home since it seemed to be working again. I then had it towed to Zeigler Honda in Racine, WI, on the morning of 10/16/2025, to find out what the cause of the incident was. The Authorized Honda dealership (Zeigler) inspected the car and found that the crank bearing for the second cylinder had failed. They said the engine was not repairable. Before this incident, the car had no other problems. All required Honda maintenance was performed on the car, which I purchased new. The week before the incident, I had a routine oil change done at the Zeigler dealership with a passing inspection on the car during the oil change on 10/10/2025.

This issue has happened three times. The first two times, I attempted to accelerate while driving on the highway and the engine momentarily lost power. I would say the events lasted 3 - 5 seconds. The third time, the engine lost power while I was driving on the highway and the vehicle never regained enough power to go over 26 miles an hour - with the accelerator depressed to its maximum limit. Fortunately, I was near my exit, so I exited the highway and drove the car 4 miles to my destination. This is the only time out of the 3 instances a flashing "Check Engine" light came on. I shut the car off, went to my appointment and then restarted the vehicle approximately 30 minutes later. No other issues were noted on the 3 hour return trip. This last event happened on [XXX]. I took the car into the service department at Ken Vance Honda, in Eau Claire, WI on January 29, 2025 and they were unable to find any stored codes in the computer related to the issue. The service advisor said he has heard of this issue several times. The estimate to fix the issue was roughly $850.00 with parts accounting for $501.74 I researched this issue online and found several references to it. The first is a post from a online group for Honda Odyssey owners. One post in that thread leads to another thread for Honda Ridgeline owners. The 3.5 engine is ticking (knocking hard from 1-2 rpm same engine that is in all the recall on pilots and other Honda cars! My car has 65k miles on it . Honda has it for a week they can’t figure it out and say it’s normal. I know my car and a loud tick is not normal! Honda knows these engine have issue and don’t want to fix it. I’m now out of warranty and they don’t want to do anything basically they want me to get stranded when it breaks down or I’m in an accident if my engine breaks.
Jan 01, 2025
Auto Stop feature will engage when I stop the car at a light, and then the engine will fail to turn back on when I take my foot off the break. I then have to try and get the car to turn off so I can restart it. I’ve taken it to Honda and they did a system update and also had the battery replaced. It was better for a while, but has now happed again twice in the last couple months.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
13 complaints
Ever since I purchased this vehicle in April of 2024, I've noticed that the forward collision mitigation system seems to see and respond to things which aren't in front of the vehicle. It seems like this system is watching the lane to the left of my vehicle, more than the lane which I am in, which causes the over-reactions, (but also means that the adaptive cruise control is less reliable about slowing when traffic ahead of me, in my lane, slows.) This has only rarely resulted in brake activation. Generally, it's just the warning which comes up on the screen. This happens most times I drive it, and I just live with it. I have had it into the local Honda dealer (Ken Garff Honda Downtown) to be checked out, and they say it's fine.

The Automatic Emergency Braking system has gone off multiple times on my 2019 Honda Passport since purchasing it in February 2021. Only a few of those times was necessary, the rest have either been an annoyance or have created more of a hazard when driving. This was especially true when the braking system dramatically reduced the speed of the Honda passport while traveling on an interstate highway, passing a truck while additional vehicles were traveling at the same speed behind me. I lost full control of the car for a minute and which only exacerbated the situation. I’m very fortunate a crash did not occur in that moment. I have never had this component looked at, but have only had the car serviced at Honda dealerships and have had the camera re calibrated a few times now. There were no warning signs, a giant “BRAKES” flashes on the dash once the system has been triggered into action, but there’s no way I’m aware to stop it once it’s been triggered, there’s only the option to turn the entire system off ahead of it being triggered. This issue has been happening as long as I can remember, but is generally bad on high traffic multi lane roads and single lane roads where traffic is consistent from the other direction.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Passport. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle experienced phantom braking. The contact stated that on one occasion, the failure caused the vehicle to come to a complete and abrupt stop. The brake warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the contact also stated that the steering wheel was shaking with an unknown chime heard. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer however, the failure could not be duplicated. The failure recurred and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the braking system needed to be recalibrated. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it remained awaiting diagnostic and repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

My Honda Passport will trigger false forward collision alarms randomly, and for no reason. As the BRAKE warning appears, the steering wheel vibrates. This happens for no apparent reason. It is distracting and if the brakes apply, very dangerous. My dealership says this is normal. It is not normal or safe.

When driving, a red BRAKE warning light will flash across dash display and the steering wheel will start shaking. Sometimes vehicle will start braking on its on. This has happened multiple times, randomly and with no obstructions in front, or even close to the car. Scary when it occurs.

My Auto Start/Stop repeatedly fails to start after engaging during a traffic stop (stop sign, red light, etc.). The engine cuts off and will not start again, causing safety issues as the car is idle and “stalled” when traffic begins moving. Things an ongoing problem that I have reported to the dealer several times. The below questions ask for dates and mileage of incident, but this has been an ongoing incident for several thousand miles. I have completed the info using approximate dates and mileage of first of many occurrences.

This has been happening from the beginning of ownership. There was a recent recall but it DID NOT fix the problem. I come to a stop, and then start to go and my car stalls out for a second and then restart. Every time I took it in to the service center, they said they can't recreate it and there's nothing wrong. As it stalls, the "collision mitigation system" warning light comes on. I have almost been rear-ended many times and it's really scary. You can see all the complaints online for this same problem but Honda is not acknowledging the problem. Someone is going to get seriously hurt. The contact stated that Honda told them to get a video of the failure happening but the failure occurs unexpectantly and while driving.
Mar 10, 2023
At a stop light, the auto engine idle kicked in. When the light turned green, and I took my foot off the brake pedal, the engine did not stop. I put the car in park and tried to restart. It would not restart at all. I was there for at least 15 minutes trying to turn the car back on and off. It finally did start but caused lots of traffic and was dangerous for everyone. This should not be happening to a new car.
Jan 17, 2023
Several times, the car shuts off at stop lights or stop signs. It has a feature that is supposed to save gas and put it into low power mode. But sometimes, especially if I take my foot off the break and press on the gas too quickly, the car completely shuts off and goes into neutral. This is VERY dangerous. Once I was on a hill when this happened and the car began rolling down and I nearly hit another vehicle. I have seen hundreds of other such complaints on the Honda Pilot. This is it's cousin, the Honda Passport and likely has the same power failure. Honda needs to recall these immediately before someone gets hurt. (It may also be related to the distance calculator being incorrect on my car. It often says I have over 1,000 miles left on my single tank.) There is for sure something wrong.
Dec 14, 2022
When the auto engine idle is engaged (Which is the default setting), when you stop, the engine idle works as advertised, then after a few moments the car will totally shut off and place itself in neutral. After several failed attempts, the only way to restart it, is to press and hold the start button and holding the brake pedal. This cars maintenance has been completed on time and solely by the dealership. This is a very scary issue because it can cause serious harm to the passengers in the vehicle as well as other vehicles on the road. This will most definitely cause an accident. we were in stop and go traffic on the HIGHWAY in the fast lane and the whole car shut off and as traffic began to move, my car wouldn't go there was a moment of panic as I quickly tried to get the car to start back up it took a while to get it to restart. we were fortunate there was no collision for us with this incident but my young children are now very afraid to ride in the car because it might shut off again and we could get hurt.

The vehicle has made multiple abrupt emergency brake activations in non-emergyncy situations. Nearly causing a crash multiple times. The automatic braking system will activate at various times shaking the wheel and applying the brakes. This happens when there is nothing in front of the vehicle.
Dec 19, 2024
My Honda Passport will trigger false forward collision alarms randomly, and for no reason. No obstructions are visible most of the time recently! As the BRAKE warning appears, the steering wheel vibrates and a quick braking jabs causing panic as if the brakes are fully engaged then it releases. This happens for no apparent reason. It is VERY distracting and if the brakes do apply very quickly, serious injury and damage can occur. This has happened multiple multiple 10+ times. Now until recently l was usually in a construction zone near a barrier or orange hivis barrel by or passing over thick lane markings on the pavement. So l assumed system was over sensitive but never during those incidents was my vehicle was directly in front (head-on) nor did l veer into the direction barrel/barrier.
Mar 16, 2024
I have had 4 instances of driving on the highway that my vehicle applied the brakes automatically. My safety was put at risk because in those instances I was driving at highway speeds and the brakes were applied on their own with no obstruction in front of me. Someone could have rear ended me. I am not able to reproduce the problem on command, but it has occurred multiple times. The car has not been inspected for this issue. The only warning I received was the alert that gets triggered when the brakes apply automatically. I do recall that in 3 of the 4 times the incident has occurred, my right turn signal was applied.

THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE BRAKING SYSTEM AND WARNING GOES OFF RANDOMLY WHEN THERE IS NO DANGER OR EVEN ANOTHER CAR PRESENT. THE WARNING OCCURS AND THE STEERING WHEEL WILL SHAKE AND ON A FEW OCCASIONS THE BRAKES WERE ACTUALLY APPLIED WHEN NO DANGER WAS PRESENT. I NOW DISABLE THE SYSTEM BY SHUTTING IT OFF UPON STARTING. IT IS A DANGEROUS CIRCUMSTANCE WHEN THE BRAKES GO OFF UN-COMMANDED. THIS HAS HAPPENED A NUMBER OF TIMES DURING THE ONE YEAR AND 3500 MILES I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE. I DID IDENTIFY ONE PARTICULAR LOCATION THIS WOULD OCCUR QUITE OFTEN. THE DEALER, UPON MY COMPLAINT, CLAIMED THE SYSTEM WAS OK. NORMAL. I WENT ON-LINE AND READ OF MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF THIS SAME THING HAPPENING TO THEIR HONDA PASSPORT AND ONE REPORT STATED IT HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND THEY WERE HIT FROM BEHIND. I SUGGEST THIS SYSTEM BE REVIEWED OR PERMANENTLY BE DISABLED. I REPORTED BELOW THE LAST DATE I HAD THIS HAPPENED AND ROUGHLY THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE I FIRST NOTICED IT.

THE COLLISION DETECTION SYSTEM FREQUENTLY LIGHTS UP THE FLASHING "BRAKE" NOTICE UNDER CONDITIONS THAT SHOULD NOT REQUIRE A BRAKING NOTIFICATION. IT IS TOO SENSITIVE AND I'M VERY CONCERNED IT WILL ACTIVATE THE BRAKES WHEN NOT NECESSARY AND CAUSE A REAR END COLLISION. THIS HAPPENS REGULARLY AND HAS OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES OVER THE YEAR WE'VE HAD VEHICLE. THE MOST NOTICEABLE IS WHEN WHEN GOING AROUND A CURVE AND A CAR IS IN THE OTHER LANE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF YOU. SO FAR IT HAS NOT ACTIVATED THE BRAKES, BUT THERE SHOULD BE SOME AI BUILT INTO THE SYSTEM TO KNOW THAT YOU ARE GOING AROUND A CURVE BASED ON THE FACT THAT THE WHEELS ARE TURNED AND NOT BE AS SENSITIVE GOING AROUND A CURVE.

May 5, 2025, I took the Honda 2019 Passport to Bend Honda, Bend Oregon for three items. First an oil change. There were two recalls, MOST and the fuel pump. Neither American Honda nor Bend Honda sent any letter stating part were available. The workmanship appears as though a "PIG" worked inside the car. Mud, dirt, bits of leaves, etc. were found. There are some scrapes on the driver side panel from someone's foot. The windows were down when I received the car. It must of be left outside the dealership overnight because of a gasoline leak. On the way home I had to drive with the windows part way down because of the fumes. The Passport is inside my garage and several times I've opened the doors to vent out the gasoline fumes. The fuel pump is either installed incorrectly or the interior had a large spill of gasoline while removing the fuel pump. Could be the wrong pump? The fumes should not be this terrible.

In addition my radio keeps going off and it says connection is lost. Since purchasing the vehicle I had issues with jerking of the transmission in 4th or 5th gear around 30-35mph. It most commonly occurred on hills or with slower acceleration like traffic. It's a commonly reported issue with all these models using the ZF 9 speed transmission. I was traveling up a hill one day and an engine light came on and car refused to start. The transmission had seized and teeth shattered inside. I was 5,000 miles out of warranty, so had to pay the $7,700 out of pocket to fix. I was working at Honda, so I know the issues with the transmission have been reported (part of the reason the latest full model change is going to the 10 speed Honda transmission).

We were driving on and entering the highway via the on-ramp when we heard a popping noise. Upon hearing the noise the car stalled and was immediately put in neutral. We could not take it out of neutral or restart the car. We had the car towed to the nearest dealership to find out the transmission needed to be replaced. The car has 36k miles and we just purchased it 6 weeks ago. There were no warnings or signs that this failure was about to occur.

Was traveling at speed of 20 mph on a residential street when engine suddenly paused and car shifted into neutral. There was no indication of an impending engine failure. Emission warning lights came on and i was unable shift the car out of neutral to move it off to the side of the road. After multiple attempts to restart the engine, i was able to engage it in drive and move the vehicle to safe location. Took it to Honda dealer who diagnosed the problem as Code P0810 (clutch position control error). The transmission control module was replaced. The dealer contacted Honda who suggested that it could ultimately result in a 2 step repair if the problem recurs. They were unable to reproduce the problem immediately after the repair. The 2nd step would involve replacing the engine harness for $6000. While this definitely posed a risk to safety, it will be a larger safety risk if it fails again while traveling at highway speeds. The technician reported 80% confidence that the situation will not happen again. I am concerned that Honda has shown a reluctance to spend the money to completely mitigate the problem unless they are forced to do so putting their profits ahead of the safety of drivers. Even a 20% risk of failure is unacceptable.

The right axle boot has a layer of grease on the outside and was suspected of being cracked. My vehicle is under it's original 36,000 mile/3year warranty. The Honda dealer repair department stated that the manufacturer does not consider this a defect. To demonstrate to me that this is not a defect I was shown another car with the same issue and was offered the opportunity to view more vehicles with the same issue. Apparently this is evidence to the dealer and manufacturer that there is no problem with the axle boot. I would think that the fact that several vehicles in one shop showed the same covering of grease on the right boot suggest that there is a manufacturing problem. It is also interesting to note that the boot on the left axle is different from the boot on the right and shows no evidence of grease. I am able to drive the car and am assured by the dealer that there is no safety concern. The problem was identified by an independent provider during routine service As the car is under warranty I went to the dealer for repairs. There are no system messages regarding this issue.

2019 HONDA PASSPORT TOURING W/ 10K MILES O BLIND DOWNHILL S-CURVE APPROX ONE MILE FROM MY HOME.. MY ZF-9 SPEED TRANSMISSION SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR WHILE DRIVING, RESULTING IN LOUD GRINDING, LURCHING, AND COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING. INCIDENT OCCURRED IMMEDIATELY AFTER A FULL STOP AT THE END OF MY LANE BEFORE ENTERING MAIN ROADWAY AND DOWNHILL CURVES. I HAD TO COAST TO THE BOTTOM WITH THE GRINDING AND GNASHING GEARS AND BUCKING, LURCHING VEHICLE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM, NOR HAD THEY EVER HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM. THEY ALSO STATED THAT DIAGNOSTICS DID NOT IDENTIFY ANY ISSUES WHICH IS ODD BECAUSE I COULD GIVE THEM A TIMEFRAME OF EXACTLY WHEN INCIDENT AND SUBSEQUENT LOSS OF POWER OCCURRED. I ALSO CALLED HONDA CORPORATE WHO TRIED TO TELL ME THAT THIS WAS "A NORMAL BREAKING IN" SCENARIO AND THAT I SHOULD CONTACT THEM WHEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN BECAUSE THEY WOULD DO NOTHING FOR FIRST REPORTED INCIDENT. CLEARLY, AMERICAN HONDA CO DOES NOT CARE ABOUT CONSUMER SAFETY. I AM NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE

Upon engine start, dashboard lights appear that warn of the following safety issues detected: - Collision Mitigation Braking System - Lane Keeping Assist System - Adaptive Cruise Control - Road Departure Mitigation Diagnostic scan shows an error code of U3000-49 indicating a front camera issue. The error codes began in Spring 2025 and are disturbing making driving less secure but it is my primary vehicle
Nov 22, 2025
Vehicle has frequent and persistent “Front Camera Fault” warnings appearing on the dashboard, which result in continuous alerts and the disabling of key safety features including the Brake System, Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM). These warnings occur under all driving conditions, including clear weather and unobstructed roads. The dashboard fault warnings appear on nearly every vehicle start, and all Honda Sensing feature indicators flash continuously while the vehicle is in operation. Because continuous multiple warning lights flash on dashboard, it is difficult to determine which alerts are genuine and which are false. This is thus a serious safety concern that warrants a formal recall. A diagnostic scan by dealer informs an error code of U3000-49 that is front camera needs to be replaced at a cost of $1,900, excluding a non-refundable diagnostic charge of approximately $190. Due to the exorbitant cost if no extended warranty purchased, owners reporting this do not proceed with the repair and continue to experience this ongoing safety issue.

Approximately a month ago several warning lights started turning on. These included Adaptive Cruise control Collision Mitigation Lane Keep Assist Road Departure Mitigation High Beam Detection When I brought the car to the dealer for a diagnosis they informed me the windshield camera and possibly the radar as well would need to be replaced. The products were not under warranty and the cost to replace them is exorbitant. These are vital components of the safety system in this car and should be replaced at the dealer cost.

Warning system failure… all lights lit and systems did not work.car was drivable but with no safety mitigation systems. Happened suddenly while driving on hwy. displayed the following warnings: Transmission System Problem Blind Spot Info System Problem Power Steering System Problem Emissions System Problem Vehicle Stability Assist Problem Hill Start Assist Problem Traffic Stability Assist Problem Road Departure Mitigation System Problem Rear tailgate did latch not working The D for drive was blinking These safety systems put my driving at risk as I rely on them for safe driving, lane change ..etc Brought to dealer for second time and they insist I leave the vehicle on so they can check the error codes. Even had ready made sign “ do not turn vehicle off” for dashboard. Seems like significant problem and I’m not the only one. Evidenced by chatter on Honda web forums. My question is, why do all system failure lights activate? Why can’t they determine the failure after car is turned off. Isn’t that the purpose of fail codes? Why do all safety functions fail when one issue arises. Evidence points to a software bug that effects all these functions (yes including the rear latch) Dealer recommends replace the ABS module but is not sure. Last time they replaced the speed sensor. Seems they are unsure. Needs software fix !

Started my vehicle and drove about a mile before my brake system lights came on. They were sporadically coming on , but now it's a continuous issue. I would like to know is there some kind of recall on vehicles that are experiencing issues with the ACC, COLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM, BRAKE SYSTEM, LKAS, AUTO HIGH BEAM, and ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION lights staying on . I only have 28,000 miles on my 2019 Passport Elite. So it's no longer un warranty. I see that a number of people on the Honda Forums are experiencing the same issues. As a loyal Honda owner, I must say I've had more issues and recalls with this one. Too many for an almost $50,000 vehicle.

The monocular camera, part 36160-TGS-A13 failed. This camera drives the vast majority of safety features on the Honda Passport. Those affected features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assistance, Parking Collision Warning, Automatic High Beam Control, and more. This vehicle has not been in a collision or subjected to any reason that would disable the camera. This camera, and apparently a significant number of others of this same model number appear to simply be defective. American Honda (and the dealers) indicate that the part is backordered with no ETA for restock, yet OEM part suppliers have the part readily available for one day delivery at $600. A quick search of the internet reveals this part failure is common, and the dealer response of backorder with no ETA seems to be a standard response. The one dealer I dealt with indicated they are personally handling 2 such cases at this exact moment. Given the more than 1,000 Honda Dealerships in the country, this indicates that it is more than possible that over 2,000 newer model Honda vehicles are driving on the roads throughout the country with the vast majority of their safety features disabled. DTC Code provided by the dealer is U3000-49. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by Norm Reeves Honda Dealer at their Huntington Beach California location. The resulting component failure causes nearly every warning light on the vehicle to turn on.

Forward collision warning alert (Brake) warning triggers frequently when opposing traffic is present. Sometimes the brakes apply that has led to several near miss collisions from being rear ended. The blind spot warning false triggers during wet conditions. Both of these items are distracting and first is dangerous. The two different dealers I have contacted are aware of these issues and have stated that Honda has no solution. One of the dealers said they could check/adjust the radar for $270 but may not fix the problem.

POWER TRAIN,ENGINE

This problem has occurred 4 times since purchased. The first withing the first 8 months, the last yesterday (7/29/2022). What happens is once stopped at light, when the car stops running to save gas and is supposed to start up when the brake is released, the car does not restart leaving you dead stopped in the road. The indicator shows you are in neutral gear, engine not restarting from the releasing break. Hitting the start button does nothing. Only once did I get a message on dash that said put in park, than put in drive. Out of the 4 times this happened, all but one happened at a stop where the engine went off waiting for foot to come off break. Once it happened when I made a U turn and coming out of the turn, the engine was in N. It happens so unexpected that it is difficult to stay composed and work through a routine to get it started again, especially when there is a line of cars behind waiting to go. I have not been able to duplicate the problem. I have reported it to my Honda service center and they say there is nothing in the computer to help them find and fix the problem. The concern is a safety issue when this occurs and a car comes up behind me seeing a green light, expecting me to go and they not slowing down. This problem has been reported on the Honda Passport Blog by a couple others.

My Honda passport had approx 10k miles and I was driving down a blind s curve less than 1 mile from my home on a clear dry day. The passport lost power, and when the gas pedal was depressed there was a loud grinding sound but no engagement - it seemed like the transmission was grinding and disengaged, or that power was not being transmitted by the engine. I coasted down to safe spot at bottom of hill, and stopped vehicle, put it in Park and turned it off. Then I started it again, transmission/power seemed to re-engage and I drove straight to dealership. They kept the car and told me they checked and found no codes. I asked about checking transmission fluid and they said they did but I don’t believe them. I called Honda corporate customer service and they told me they “couldn’t do anything until it happened to me again” and that I “needed to address problems and issues with my dealer.” (It was dealer who told me to call corporate.) Since this time, I have received notice of fuel pump recall and that has been repaired. I wonder if the loss of power I experienced was fuel pump, or if it was related to transmission issue (same as Odyssey) for the 9-speed transmission.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY ON MY WAY TO A VACATION WITH MY CAR PACKED FOR THE WEEK AND I HEARD A BANG AS IF I HIT SOMETHING AND THEN IT SOUNDED AS IF SOMETHING WAS DRAGGING ON THE BOTTOM BUT NOTHING WAS THERE. I WAS EXTREMELY SCARED BECAUSE I WAS STUCK ALONE ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION BLEW ON MY BRAND NEW CAR WITH LESS THAT 100 MILES. VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 1000 MILES. ENGINE STALLED DURING MOTION APPROX 70 MPH. FORCED TO PULL OVER AND RESTART ENGINE BUT WAS UNABLE TO PUT INTO DRIVE BUT AFTER A MINUTE WAS SUCCESSFUL IN STARTING. ENGINE STALLED TWO MORE TIMES AFTER AND EACH TIME MORE ERRORS WERE REPORTED ON THE VEHICLE DRIVER DISPLAY. ERRORS INVOLVED EMISSIONS, TRANSMISSION, ENGINE, BLIND SPOT MONITORING, AND BATTERY. ISSUE WAS RECTIFIED BY HONDA DEALERSHIP BUT UNKNOWN WHETHER OR NOT PERMANENT DAMAGE OCCURRED. THE DEALERSHIP FIX WAS TO "DRAIN ATF FLUID AND BROUGHT TO PROPER LEVEL". THEIR DIAGNOSES WAS THAT "ATF IS OVERFILLED." VEHICLE HAS MULTIPLE FIT/FINISH/BUILD QUALITY ISSUES LEADING ME TO BELIEVE THAT THE MANUFACTURER IS AT FAULT FOR THIS PROBLEM AND THAT OTHER ISSUES MAY BE PRESENT BUT UNKNOWN. ONE NOTABLE SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE BUILD QUALITY IS THAT ALL FOUR EMERGENCY HANDLE BARS ARE LOOSE.

Forward collision, Adaptive cruise control and all enhanced safety features related to the camera and front of vehicle sensor stopped working. Vehicle warning lights and messages do light up for every start. Only option has been to have a $2,500 repair bill for a 6 year old vehicle to install a new camera system by the dealer. This a well known manufacturer issue among owners. Infotainment system is losing network connections and completely going black. The system is only available for brief stretches after restarting the vehicle and will go black while driving. There is a known recall for the coaxial cable (MOST connection loss) but apparently my vehicle is not part of this recall. Again this is a well known manufacturer issue with this year and model vehicle. Appears to be a wiring harness issue or improper wiring installation by manufactuer.

Car will at times not start and require to be jump started. Battery has been replaced and the issue persist. The car will randomly say collision warning when no cars are on the road
Jan 19, 2024
My Collision Mitigation Braking System activates when there is no reason to do so. I took it to my dealer and they said it is because there is dirt on the car logo that is in front of the radar so they cleaned it. It was not dirty in my opinion. When I dove it again with a very clean logo the system flashed BREAK again and shook the steering wheel. I know I can turn this “feature” off by pressing a button on the dash board but I have to do that every time I start the car - it malfunctions regularly. In addition to be inconvenient it is distracting and dangerous do deal with when driving if I forget to turn it off. If I loan my car to someone It is embarrassing and difficult to explain to them how to handle it.

With auto stop/start disabled as this feature regularly fails, stopped to turn left and car shifted itself into neutral, could not be shifted into drive or restarted for a few minutes despite multiple attempts. If car had auto stop start feature engaged, this often happens, which has been reported, but this time it happened without that feature on. Luckily we were turning from a parking lot so did not hold up traffic or have risk of being hit.
Feb 04, 2023
On several occasions engine fails to restart on its own from a complete stop at a traffic light or road intersection with the Auto Start/Stop function engaged. Car shifts itself into Neutral and cannot be restarted by pressing Start button. It required jump was required for the vehicle to restart once. Usual work around posted by Honda is to put car in Park and then attempt to press Start button. Crash was avoided once in heavy traffic.

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the front passenger’s side tire was vibrating and deflating. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the tires were balanced and an alignment was performed, and the tires were rotated; however, the failure persisted. The tires were original equipment. The tires were replaced. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V165000 (TIRES); as a possible cause for the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle and tire failure mileages were 32,000.

The vehicle was unable to restart after the auto idle stop engaged at a stoplight, shutting the engine off. Upon release of the brake, the engine did not restart and the car was left stranded for several hours in the middle of a large intersection putting the driver at risk. The car was unable to be restarted and stranded for over two hours until police were able to clear a safe path and have the car towed to the nearest service center. There were no warning indicators or service lights prior to this occurrence. The authorized Honda service center found that the battery was drained and the auto idle stop had engaged while the car battery was low, leaving the car stranded and unable to be restarted.

THE RADIO DISPLAYS AN ERROR MESSAGE OF 'NETWORK COMMUNICATION LOST' BEFORE THE SCREEN BLACKS OUT. THIS HAPPENS OVER AND OVER EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE SCREEN FOR THE ODOMETER BLACKS OUT AND I CANNOT SEE THE TRAVELING SPEED OF MY VEHICLE. I CANNOT USE THE FEDERALLY MANDATED BACKUP CAMERA AS WELL AS THE PARKING SENSORS. I CANNOT SEE THE PARKING SENSORS. THE VEHICLE ALSO SHOWS 'BRAKE' CONTINUALLY WHEN DRIVING AS ANOTHER CAR APPROACHES FROM THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. THERE IS NO NEED TO BRAKE AT THESE TIMES. THIS OCCURS VERY FREQUENTLY WHILE DRIVING. THE LAST ITEM IS THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT WANT TO SHIFT WHILE TRAVELING DOWNHILL ABOUT 50% OF THE TIME WHEN I LEAVE MY HOUSE. THE ENGINE WILL JUST REV HIGHER AND HIGHER OVER 4K REVS. I CANNOT EVEN DRIVE THE 25-MILE SPEED LIMIT WHEN THIS OCCURS. I HAVE CONFIRMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SETTINGS ARE IN THE STANDARD DRIVE MODE DURING THESE EVENTS. I ALSO INFORMED THEM THAT THE AUTO HIGH BEAM FEATURE DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE IS APPROACHING FROM THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION MANY TIMES IT DOES NOT TURN OFF AND I BLIND THE ONCOMING DRIVER. I HAVE BROUGHT THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE AND IT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED.

Since I purchased this car in 2020, I have regularly experienced my car stalling out because of the auto idle function. The car shuts off when I brake and then does not turn back on, leaving me stranded in traffic until I can manually shut off my car and turn it back on. This is a major safety hazard that Honda has yet to properly address. Honda had a recall to "fix" this, which was just a software update. This was conducted 5/12/2023 on my car. Unfortunately, today (5/20/2023) my car stalled out again at a traffic light due to the auto idle function. Honda needs to address this issue, and if they cannot, then they need to provide those with defective models a path to upgrade their car.

I stopped at red-light and the auto stop idle was engaged. Once the light changed, and I removed my foot from the brake to disengage the auto idle, unexpectedly the gear just shifted to Neutral . I then had put it in park , and press the ignition start button . It took a couple times before restarting. I had to endure other drivers honking and yelling at me, because I was the 1st car at the stop light. This has happened at least 8-10 times in the past 4 months. After having my vehicle for 3 days, the dealer said they couldn't find the problem . Wih road rage what it is in these times, something like that could spark alot of frustration in other drivers. I have read blogs about other honda passport owners having the same issue. HONDA REALLY NEEDS TO FIND OUT WHAT THE ISSUE IS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INTO AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE!

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Passport. The contact stated that the warning lights on the instrument panel were illuminated and blinking. The lights had to be manually turned off. The message that the camera was obstructed was displayed. The maintenance past due, road departure litigation, ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control), and LKAS (Lane Keeping Assist System) were displayed. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V439000 (Back Over Prevention, Electrical System). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the brakes and camera were faulty. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer, who informed the contact about replacing the battery and performing a scan. The battery was replaced. The vehicle was taken to the dealer again, where it was diagnosed with a loss of communication with the cruise control, a driver support system, a dirty camera, and a radar antenna failure. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The service manager eventually declined to service the vehicle, and the contact was referred to another location. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

Description: I have a concern that I will follow-up with a letter via USPS. Imagine driving your 2019 Honda Passport on an Interstate, Speed Limit is set at 70; your speed is 75; you're in the middle of the three lanes of travel; and your vehicle suddenly decelerates and every warning the vehicle is equipped with start giving alerts in rapid succession. This is what happened to me on [XXX] at approximately [XXX]. What is concerning is that this exact same thing happened April 2023 and I was told it was the Idle Control Sensor. The dealership that sold me the vehicle was gracious enough to let me bring it to them for repair, without charging the full cost of the part but, labor cost I incurred. When a consumer purchases a vehicle, the second most expensive purchase in one's lifetime, it is implied that outside of normal and routine maintenance, the car has been assessed and inspected for drivability. Being that this is the second occurrence, I am questioning if this vehicle was thoroughly inspected for this issue? I had my vehicle towed to the Greensboro Honda Dealership, 3633 W. Wendover Ave., Greensboro NC 27407. Although my faith and loyalty to the Honda brand has diminished, the customer service provided by Ms. Karen was comforting and reassuring. She understood my concerns and was phenomenal in letting me know what to expect. Surprising for a weekend as, most employees are not wanting to work. The reason for this email is two fold, notification of the issue and hoping that Honda will take accountability financially and resolve whatever "root" issue(s) that could be cause. Thank you and if my life has any significance to you, I hope to hear from you regarding this serious concern. After coming to rest: (partially in traffic) Vehicle would not shift out of park. Error messages on Instrument Panel stated: "Stop Driving When Safe. Transmission Problem. See Manual." Check Engine was not illuminated. Turned off car and back on. Same error message was still present. Gear selector buttons would not respond and vehicle remained in Park, partially stuck in traffic. Repeatedly attempted to get vehicle to shift out of park. Eventually the Battery Positive Terminal was removed and reapplied and tightened Vehicle started, error message no longer present. When engaging the accelerator after auto-stop the entire vehicle stalled. Nothing was displayed on the dash or media console, the vehicle cut off, no steering, and no acceleration. When I hit the gas pedal, the transmission sounded like shifting to Neutral gear, resulting in loud grinding, and with complete loss of power. VEHICLE WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK, IT WAS STATIONARY. FIRST TIME 3/27/19 PICKING UP NEW AT DEALERSHIP. SECOND TIME 4/10/19, PARKED IN MY GARAGE. BOTH TIMES NUMEROUS WARNING CODES DISPLAYED. IN MY GARAGE 10 WARNING CODES DISPLAYED, RAN MOTOR FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AND TURNED OFF. RESTARTED LATER AND 7 WARNING CODES DISPLAYED AND VEHICLE WOULD GO INTO DRIVE. DROVE TO DEALERSHIP, MADE APPOINTMENT FOR SERVICE 4/11/19. DEALERSHIP FOUND MULTIPLE BATTERY LOW CODES STORED FROM WHEN BATTERY DIED ON LOT. TECHNICIAN NOTICED A HAM RADIO ANTENNA MOUNT ON THE CROSS BAR AND REPORTED THE UNKNOWN ACCESSORY ATTACHED TO THE CROSS BAR COULD HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH VEHICLE CODES BEING SET. AS OF THIS DATE ALL THE PARTS TO INSTALL A TRANSCEIVER HAVE NOT ARRIVED. THE UNKNOWN ACCESSORY IS JUST A MOUNT AND AT THE DEALERSHIP INSPECTION IT HAS A GROUND WIRE, 14 GAUGE THHN, CONNECTED TO A BRACKET. WHEN THE ANTENNA IS INSTALLED IT MUST BE GROUNDED TO FRAME. I'M INCLUDING JPEGS OF ANTENNA MOUNT. ALSO I HAVE SUPPORTING EMAILS DETAILING WHEN THE PARTS WILL ARRIVE TO MY PO BOX AND OR STREET ADDRESS. A TRANSCEIVER HAS NOT BEEN INSTALLED IN THE VEHICLE! THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANY ELECTRICAL CONNECTION TO THE BATTERY/VEHICLE!

My Passport has been in the Honda service department 12 times for the entertainment display not working. The system makes pops and crackles. My biggest concern is not being able to see backing up. And also losing navigation during travel to unfamiliar places. Now I'm also losing connection to the anti-theft system. The auto-stop-start malfunctioned at a stop sign and would not work until I turned off the engine and opened the door and then it worked. Overall, very unhappy with this vehicle.

STARTING AT ABOUT 500 MILES, A CRACKLING NOISE WOULD PROPAGATE THROUGH THE SPEAKERS AND THE INFOTAINMENT AND REARVIEW CAMERA WOULD SHUT OFF. TOOK THE CAR FOR SERVICE AND THE FIXED THE PROBLEM FOR A FEW HUNDRED MILES WHEN IT CAME BACK MUCH MORE SEVERE. STEPPING ON THE GAS, OR BUMPS WOULD PRODUCE ERRATIC ISSUES, NOT ONLY FREEZING THE INFOTAINMENT ALONG WITH INTENSE CRACKLING NOISES, BUT ALSO, BRAKING ON ITS OWN. TOOK THE CAR TO BACK FOR SERVICE AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE BRAKING ON ITS OWN ISSUE. NOT UNSURPRISING BECAUSE THE PATTERN OF PROBLEMS IS RANDOM. SERVICE AT LEAST ADMITTED THE INFOTAINMENT ISSUES AND I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT HONDA IS WORKING ON A REPAIR INVOLVING REPLACEMENT OF THE HARNESS. THEY WANTED TO REPLACE THE INFOTAINMENT UNIT BUT THE PART WOULD NOT BE IN STOCK FOR ALMOST 4 WEEKS. THE PROBLEMS HAVE ONLY WORSENED SINCE AND NOW BLACKING OUT OF THE SPEEDOMETER IS THE LATEST SAFETY ISSUE. CALLED HONDA AND ASKED TO HAVE THE CAR REPLACED, ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT I AM A LIAR AND THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN SERVICED ONCE YET. THE HONDA REPRESENTATIVE PROVIDED THE MOST DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED DENYING THE ISSUES AND TELLING ME THAT THERE IS NO SAFETY ISSUE AND BASICALLY IMPLYING THAT THE INFOTAINMENT PROBLEM ALMOST DOES NOT EXIST. HE LIED TELLING ME THAT HONDA IS NOT WORKING ON ANY PERMANENT FIX, AS ACCORDING TO HIM THERE IS NOT A PROBLEM. DEALER AND SERVICE EMPLOYEES ALL KNOW THE PROBLEM, BUT HONDA BELIEVES THAT ITS CUSTOMERS ARE IDIOTS WITH ZERO INTELLIGENCE. MADE ME REALIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF USING A LAWYER AND PARTICIPATING IN CLASS ACTIONS, AS THE ONLY WAY HONDA WILL RESPOND TO THE "ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM" IS THROUGH LEGAL ACTION. I ALSO HOPE NHTSA WILL ACT QUICKLY ON THIS VERY WELL KNOWN PROBLEM AND FORCE A SOLUTION.

SINCE I HAVE LEASED THE VEHICLE, THE COLLISION MITIGATION BREAKING SYSTEM IS COMING ON WHEN NOT NEEDED, AT TIMES DURING HIGHWAY SPEEDS.. I HAVE BEEN NEARLY REAR-ENDED THREE TIMES, THE LATEST CAUSING THE MAN BEHIND ME TO ALMOST GO OFF THE ROAD INTO A DITCH (THANKFULLY HE WAS ABLE TO JUST BARELY AVOID THIS) AND IT IS HAPPENING WHEN MY HUSBAND IS DRIVING THE CAR AS WELL. IT IS VERY STARTLING AND WORRISOME. THE CAR ACTUALLY NOSEDIVES AND COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP AT TIMES'OTHER TIMES IT BREAKS SUDDENLY AND THEN RELEASES OR I HAVE TO PUT MY FOOT DOWN ON THE GAS WHILE TRYING TO DISENGAGE THE SYSTEM. I HAVE TAKEN IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP A FEW TIMES ALREADY AND THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO FIX IT AS IT CANNOT BE REPLICATED WHEN THEY HAVE HAD IT (WEEKS CAN GO BY IN BETWEEN WHEN IT HAPPENS) AND I HAVE EXPRESSED I DO NOT WANT THEM CONSTANTLY DRIVING MY VEHICLE TRYING TO CAUSE THIS ISSUE WHEN I WAS TOLD EXPLICITLY THAT IF THIS HAPPENS AND THEY'RE DRIVING MY VEHICLE, MY INSURANCE IS RESPONSIBLE. I HAVE ALSO FILED A COMPLAINT WITH HONDA MOTOR AMERICA WHERE A CASE HAS BEEN OPENED AND CLOSED VERY QUICKLY. THEIR RESPONSE WAS THAT IT IS PRETTY MUCH NOT THEIR PROBLEM, I AM ON MY OWN UNLESS I AM ABLE TO MAKE IT HAPPEN IN FRONT OF AN ADVISOR, OR HAVE AN ADVISOR DRIVE MY CAR FREQUENTLY (LIKE USING IT TO GO TO AND FROM WORK, ETC. BEING THEY DO NOT DRIVE IT FAR WHEN TRYING TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE) AND THEY DO NOT HOLD ANY LIABILITY IF THIS ISSUE IS TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WHERE MYSELF OR OTHER DRIVERS ON THE WORK ARE INJURED IN ANY CAPACITY. I ALSO HAVE BEEN GETTING WARNING LIGHTS AT TIMES THAT THE SYSTEM IS MALFUNCTIONING AND MY AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAMS HAVE BEGUN TO NOT WORK PROPERLY AS WELL. THE DEALER TOLD ME THE ONLY FIX IS TO 'IF I WERE YOU I WOULD JUST SHUT IT OFF EVERY TIME I GET IN THE CAR'. I WANT IT TO WORK PROPERLY BEING IT WAS PART OF THE REASON I LEASED THE VEHICLE AS IT'S STANDARD EQUIPMENT,

I had 5 lights comes on 2 days ago. Airbag system problem, collision mitigation system problem, road departure mitigation problem, high beam problem, and adaptive cruise control problem. The dealership said that it was a camera issue and everything except the air bag issue is covered with my warranty. It’s currently in the shop getting fixed. Also currently has a recall for the fuel pump that they never have the part. Still waiting to see if they are able to get that part. This recall has been there since 12/2021 and they haven’t been able to get the parts.

I have had several incidents where my car does not restart after auto-idling at a stop light. When there is a delay in restarting, a warning flashes briefly that there is an issue with the collision mitigation system. On some occasions, it fails to restart completely and I have to turn off the car, open the door to reset everything, then close the door to restart the car. I have had it inspected by Honda several times and was most recently told it needed a software update, but it has continued to happen since the software update.

What component malfunctioned: The driver's side visor has malfunctioned and is extremely difficult to raise and lower. It's motion has become very stiff and requires both of the driver's hands to raise or lower it, which means that the driver must remove their hands from the steering wheel to utilize the visor. It is available for inspection as it is still installed in the car. Safety Risk: The malfunctioning visor is a safety risk to both the driver, the car's other occupants and other drivers as it requires both of the driver's hands to raise or lower it which means the driver must temporarily take their hands from the steering wheel while driving to operate the visor. Removing ones hands from the steering wheel can cause the car to be temporarily undirected by the driver which can result in accidents. The malfunctioning visor also creates a visibility hazard. As the visor is too difficult to raise and lower, the driver can be blinded by the sun glare that the visor would normally block. such a visibility issue can lead to accidents, especially if there is oncoming traffic. Inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others:? The dealership (Ziegler Honda, Kalamazoo Michigan) was asked to look at the visor to determine why it wasn't working correctly. They informed me that this was a common issue with this model of Honda and that the only option to fix it is total replacement at a cost of $300. This would not be covered by insurance and there is currently no recall in place to address the defect. Warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? The visor started to not function smoothing in Summer of 2024 and the problem has consistently progressed to the point that the visor is now extremely difficult to raise and lower and requires to hands to move. I can provide a video of the visor's operation showing how difficult it is to move.

The Idle-Stop system engages as expected when the vehicle comes to a stop, but the engine fails to restart when I release the brake pedal. This leaves me stranded in traffic and vulnerable to collisions, especially in high-traffic areas like intersections. The car has completely stalled and remains frozen for at least 3 minutes. Instrument panel lights up and says to depress pedal fully and press the start button. Another message says something about being in neutral and then to put it in park. I'm doing what it says and I cannot get the car to start. I have a green light and I'm stuck in an intersection where opposing traffic has a green light as well. People are honking at me and nervous because of the unpredictibilty of my car. - Frequency: This occurs at least 1x/month for the past 65 months (lifetime of the vehicle) - Conditions: Occurs during normal driving conditions, typically in stop-and-go traffic. - Impact: This issue has resulted in significant delays and near-misses with other vehicles, posing a clear safety hazard. The vehicle has been evaluated by a Honda dealer regarding Idle-Stop system malfunction specifically on the following dates October 1st, 2020, February 2nd 2023, March 16th, 2023 May 11th 2023, November 7th 2024 and January 9th 2025. The vehicle was found to be in normal working order and multiple times I was told to disengage the auto idle stop (press the button) to prevent that from happening. There was a recall for idle-stop software update which failed to repair the issue. This has been a persistent problem and the above dates by no means reflects the only times that the engine fails to restart after auto-stopping.

My 2019 Honda Passport with VIN# ending with**********2184. A safety recall of a faulty fuel pump was dangerous to drive. The faulty pump recalled from Honda NHTSA warned drivers that are at risk of crashes and accidents. The increased risk of property damage as well. I was exhausted trying to get a loaner car from my Dealership that I have all of my routine maintenance is performed. The fuel pump failure from December 2023 as of today still unavailable. On 6/15/2024 I loss control of my 2019 Honda passport. The rapid acceleration and rapidly stalling the vehicle etc loss of power and control. I hit a Tractor Trailer hitch destroying my vehicle completely. My injuries are still extremely problematic mental and physically. I was arrested for DUI which put the blame of me being Intoxicated or Driving on drugs. I was not taken to a Hospital but to jail. I requested to seek treatment in the Jail Clinic.I was released without a bond. The cops wanted my consent for blood to determine my alleged DUI. August 7th 2024 I received a letter stating that my blood was negative and rescinded of suspension allowing me to drive. I can’t drive with Seatbelt sign injuries neck, spine trauma to degenerative spine exacerbation. No car no job unable to be my elderly mothers care taker. My mental health has become significantly worse ever in my entire life. A faulty fuel pump and a false DUI arrest are daunting on a daily basis. I have also contemplated suicide. I am financially crippled. So I don’t understand if I was cleared as the cause of the accident. I was already warned about and Honda knew that without a DUI case. Hondas Safety recall of the faulty fuel pump. The indicators were a red flag but my Honda dealership just told me to just pray everything I have to drive my vehicle dates 2/22 2024 —-3/14/24 4/24 and other miscellaneous dates every time frustrating. The inspection of the faulty fuel pump was explained on the recall. After the collision nothing left to check.

The automatic emergency braking system engages in times when it is not appropriate to do so. The vehicle will flash the “brake” warning light on the dashboard, will shake the steering wheel, apply light braking, and in a few instances has applied hard braking. We have been unable to determine a specific trigger for this issue. The vehicle will engage this feature on strait roads with no other vehicles or obstructions on the road. It has happened during both rainy and sunny conditions. The vehicle has also exhibited this behavior when going up and down hills both with and without other vehicles present. The vehicle will do this sometimes when other vehicles enter our lane at a safe distance and at low speeds, at or below 30 mph. The vehicle has also done this at highway speeds of 55+ mph both with and without other vehicles or obstructions in the roadway. We have experienced this while driving curvy roads both with vehicles passing in the opposite lane of traffic and when no other vehicles are present. The feature appears to randomly engage at all speeds between 15+ mph to 70+ mph with or without vehicles on the roadway. It also doesn’t appear to matter if a vehicle is in our lane, an adjacent lane, or the opposite lane of traffic. This issue was identified and has been ongoing since the vehicle was purchased in October 2023. The issue happens at least 1 time most days the vehicle is driven but can range between 1 time and 3+ times each day. The vehicle is driven consistently 30+ miles each day with occasional trips of 300-500 miles in a single day. The other issue we have noticed is the rear cross traffic warning. We have noticed something’s this will engage when no other traffic or obstacles are present. We have also observed this feature failing to engage when a vehicle or obstacle is present. This issue does not happen often but has been observed enough that is has come to my attention as a potential issue.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Passport. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 MPH the vehicle suddenly lost automotive power causing the driver to lose control of the steering and crash into the rear of a Semi-Truck. During the incident, the air bags did not deploy. The driver sustained bruising of the chest and hip areas and pulmonary heart bruising due to the seatbelt restraints. Medical treatment was later administered. A police report was taken at the scene. The vehicle was destroyed and towed away. The cause of the failures was not determined. The contact informed that the VIN was included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000(Fuel System, Gasoline), and the vehicle had experienced that same failure listed in the recall. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 44,700.

I contacted my local Honda dealership on May 20, 2024 and was told that there are no parts available to address and correct this recall (NHTSA Recall Number: 23V-858), and that American Honda Motor Co., Inc. has stated that there would be no parts available "until late this year." This is a safety issue that, should failure occur during vehicle operation and/or in motion, would render the vehicle instantly inoperative. American Honda Motor Co., Inc. should immediately expedite the manufacture, shipment, and replacement of these potentially defective fuel pump modules to address this risk to vehicle operators.

I have had the car for three years and its never been in a collusion. Within the past two months the forward radar sensor failed which cost 1500 to replace. This part makes it so all cruise control and auto lane change functionality break. In addition a month later the gas lid broke and emissions were getting into the fuel tank. Again not major incident but I did observe that the gas tank top is very flimsy and moves a lot of when refueling. This cost me another 763 dollars. Both these issues cause major safety issues and should not be occurring on a three year old vehicle.

I have has consistent problems with the braking system. It will brake and/or show the warning when nothing is there. The jerking of this has caused me to get in an accident June 2020 while moving to a new duty station. It was raining and there were no other cars on this highway thankfully. It was scary and I was even going below the speed limit. This caused my car to become nearly uncontrollable. My children and I were fortunately unharmed, but pretty shaken up. I had everything repaired and the same thing still happens to this day. That was only about 3 months after I purchased my car. I hear a lot of rattling as if something has come undone inside. Many times when I am driving I can feel the car jerk to a certain side or forward. That issue almost caused another accident in Feb 2021. I was backing out of a parking spot with plenty of room between myself and the other cars. My braking warning came on and it stopped my car. Then immediately it jerked back aggressively and almost hit a car behind me. Soon after I managed to back out and shift into drive, it jerked forward while stopping then jerking again. Although it is not all of the time, it has happened enough to cause accidents and almost a lot more. I think the 2019 Honda Passport should be looked into more and corrected. As these issues should not be happening.

THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED EVER SINCE WE BOUGHT THE PASSPORT IN MAY OF 2020 IT IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM AND HAS OCCURRED MANY TIMES. OCCASIONALLY, WHILE IN MOTION AND DRIVING 45-60 MPH ON A TWO LANE ROAD, PARTICULARLY ON A CURVE TO THE RIGHT (HAS OCCURRED ON STRAIGHT STRETCHES TOO) THE ANTI-COLLISION BRAKE SYSTEM WILL APPLY THE BRAKES AS A WARNING. THE SPEEDOMETER LIGHTS UP ORANGE WITH LARGE LETTERS TWICE IN A ROW (BRAKE! BRAKE!). AT THIS TIME I CAN FEEL THE BRAKES APPLIED LIGHTLY AND THE DEALERS SERVICE WRITER HAS CONFIRMED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS ALSO ACTIVATE. THIS HAPPENS VERY FREQUENTLY IN MY VEHICLE (AND ACCORDING TO MANY ON THE PASSPORT OWNERS FORUMS IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM). WITH ME IT WILL HAPPEN AT LEAST ONCE EVERY 75-100 MILES OR MORE FREQUENTLY. ON A TRIP IN JULY OF ABOUT 5000 MILES, THIS OCCURRED OVER A HUNDRED TIMES. I HAVE ONLY SEEN THIS SYSTEM OPERATE CORRECTLY TWICE, WITH CARS IN FRONT OF ME.....THE OTHER TIMES THE CAR IS IN THE ONCOMING LANE. ONCE, A CAR PASSED ME ON AN INTERSTATE (ME IN RIGHT LANE, HE IN LEFT, SAME DIRECTION) AND WHEN HE WAS ABOUT 20 FEET AHEAD OF ME THE WARNING ACTIVATED. I HAVE HAD THE CAR IN TWICE MENTIONING THIS PROBLEM AND THE TECHNICIAN HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO RE-CREATE THE PROBLEM ON THEIR SHORT TEST DRIVE. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT HONDA USA SUGGESTED THEY CHECK THE AIMING OF THE WINDSHIELD CAMERA AND THE FRONT EMBLEM RADAR. I ASKED THEM TO CHECK THESE THE SECOND TIME I HAD IT IN THEY SAID THESE BOTH WERE AIMED PROPERLY AND THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT. THEY TELL ME I CAN DISABLE THIS AT THE START OF EVERY TRIP BUT IF I FORGET TO DO THAT AND HAPPEN TO HAVE THIS OCCUR ON AN ICY ROAD IN WINTER, IT'S NOT SAFE. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN TWICE FOR THREE RECALLS ALREADY AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO SEE OR FIX THIS PROBLEM. AND IT ACTIVATED AGAIN ON THE WAY HOME AFTER MY LAST RECALL APPOINTMENT SO IT IS STILL A PROBLEM.

HONDA STATED THAT THEY HAVE SEEN THIS PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING WHEEL AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED TO BE RELATED TO A DEFECT IN THE STEERING COLUMN. THE STEERING COLUMN WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED BUT A SECOND PROBLEM APPEARED WITH THE STEERING WHEEL ADJUSTMENT LEVER AND STEERING WHEEL BECAME TOO STIFF TO MOVE UP/DOWN. HONDA'S REPRESENTATIVE MADE A VISIT TO THE DEALER AND THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED TO BE A SECOND DEFECTIVE STEERING COLUMN. THE CAR ICON ON MY DASH (LIGHTS UP WHILE USING ACC) BEGAN FLASHING THEN MY PASSPORT (ON IT'S OWN) SLAMMED ON THE BREAKS, FORCING MY DAUGHTER AND I INTO OUR SEATBELTS HARD, AND FORCED THE CARS BEHIND TO SLAM ON THEIR BREAKS. THE BREAK WARNING THAT USUALLY FLASHES ON THE DASH WHEN THERE'S A REASON TO BREAK DIDN'T HAPPEN. IT WAS A CLOSE CALL BUT EVERYONE AVOIDED A COLLISION. IMMEDIATELY TOOK TO DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THEY'D NEVER HEARD OF THAT HAPPENING BUT I GOOGLED IT AND THE ISSUE POPS UP SEVERAL TIMES IN ONLINE FORUMS AND THERE'S A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FROM 2017 CR-V'S FROM PROBLEMS WITH THE ACC. WAITING TO HEAR WHAT DEALERSHIP SAYS, BUT THE GUY SAID THEY'D JUST TAKE IT FOR A FEW TEST DRIVES AND SEE IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING VEHICLE NOW!

THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM FAILS WHILE USING AIRPLAY, CAUSING NAVIGATION, AUDIO, BLUETOOTH FAILURE AND THE REAR CAMERA GOES OUT AS WELL. WHEN TRYING TO REBOOT BY TURNING OFF THE CAR, THE ENGINE STAYS OFF BUT THE INFO SYSTEM RUNS DARKLY IN THE BACKGROUND. BATTERY DIED OVERNIGHT. BATTERY RECONNECT SEEMED TO WORK BUT BEING THAT THIS HAPPENED TWICE AND I GOT LOST ONCE AS A RESULT, I AVOID PLUGGING IN MY PHONE. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS, IT'S ALL OVER THE INTERNET AND NO ONE IS STEPPING UP. WHAT ABOUT THE LEMON LAW? WHERE'S OUR PROTECTION?

DRIVING MY CAR ON BELT PARKWAY, I CONNECTED MY PHONE TO USE ANDROID AUTO, THE RADIO STOPPED WORKING, HEAD UNIT SAID "AUDIO IS OFF" AND ALSO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS NOT ANSWERING TO MY COMMANDS. IN THE SAME DRIVE I ALMOST CRUSH WITH A VEHICLE COMING FROM MY RIGHT SIDE BECAUSE THE ALERT SYSTEM DIDN'T LIGHT ON TO WARN ME. AFTER FEW MORE MILES I COULD PULL OVER, TURN OFF THE CAR, OPENED THE DOOR, CLOSE THE DOOR, TURN ON THE ENGINE , CONNECT MY PHONE AND SAME PROBLEM CAME OUT. I HAVE ONLY 465 MILES WITH MY CAR AND I ALREADY CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP 2 TIMES REGARDING THIS PROBLEMS. I ALSO ASK THE DEALERSHIP TO GIVE ME MY OLD CAR BACK BUT THEY REFUSED. WHAT SHOULD I DO. I AM VERY WORRIED ABOUT THIS CAR AND I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE AND SAFE DRIVING IT ANYMORE.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65MPH. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SLOW DOWN AT A VERY FAST RATE CUTTING MY SPEED IN HALF. 2 ERRORS APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD. "TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, APPLY PARKING BRAKE WHEN PARKED." AND "BLIND SPOT INFO SYSTEM PROBLEM." LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER JUST IN THE RIGHT TIME, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS STARTING TO GET VERY HARD TO CONTROL WHILE STEERING AS THIS WAS ALL HAPPENING. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO CONTROL ME MEANING J ALMOST COULDN'T STEER IT WHERE IT NEEDED TO GO AND I COULD NOT ACCELERATE AT ALL ON THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE KEPT SLOWING DOWN. I WAS ON THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY AROUND A SHARP TURN AND I WAS TERRIFIED THAT SOMEONE WOULD SLAM RIGHT INTO ME. IT TOOK A TOW TRUCK 1 HOUR TO ARRIVE. THE DEALER HAS NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE BEFORE. I'M WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM THEM AS THEY STILL HAVE M VEHICLE. WILDE HONDA WAUKESHA, WI
