My vehicle is having issues with the CVT transmission timing chain, I was just aware, there was a recall in the past but my infiniti dealership said it's expired.And they won't help replace it. I'm getting Judder while driving.

The contact owns a 2014 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated that while driving 25-30 MPH, the vehicle shuddered and failed to accelerate as intended upon depressing the accelerator pedal. Additionally, the contact stated that upon shifting into reverse(R) and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to reverse and drove forward instead. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The manufacturer informed the contact that the VIN was included in Infiniti Campaign Number: PC501. The manufacturer scheduled an appointment with the dealer on the contact's behalf. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, and the dealer informed the contact that the TCM software was updated; however, the failure persisted. The Service Advisor at the dealer informed the contact that the transmission needed to be replaced. The regional manager was contacted and informed the contact that the dealer had stated that the service campaign had not been performed, and the vehicle had not been diagnosed. The contact was informed that no assistance would be provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 122,000.

I am reporting a serious safety failure involving my 2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid (VIN: [XXX] ), tied to Recall R21B4 / NHTSA 21V-774. Although the recall was marked complete before I bought the car in 2022, the defect — sudden loss of power — occurred again while I was driving at highway speeds. Infiniti is refusing to assist due to age/mileage, despite clear evidence the recall fix was ineffective or incomplete. Diagnostic codes confirm hybrid system failure (P0A08, C1A1A, C1130). I am requesting a full investigation into Infiniti’s handling of this recall and a resolution for my unsafe vehicle. The whole vehicle experiences strong vibrations when accelerating to 30 miles per hour and higher. It also gives strong judder or kicks when turning. Hard to control the vehicle at high speeds. No warning light is on. Took the vehicle to a local dealer (Houston Southwest Infiniti) and found that the problem was caused by a defective rear differential coupler.

I bought my 2014 Infiniti QX60 in 2016 that had a little over 68k miles on it. On May 3, 2024, I just hit over $100k & felt the car do a soft lurch then it started to do a small crawl inch by inch. No warning lights came on or messages. Before this happened, I heard what I thought was a flat tire, or a plane taxing sound. I got the car towed to a mechanic shop and was told that I need a new 'transfer case'. I was told that there was a recall for this but do not see it for this model. If Infiniti knew it had problems why was a recall not done. If I want to get it fixed it will cost over $5k again. I already got it changed and the front differential a year ago. So is this something that will have to be done yearly?

Since 4/4/2025 unresolved CVT transmission repair 4 replacement CVT transmission have failed, each time order for the repair they have failed with the same problem or different problems with the CVT transmission, •Despite assurances that the repairs were properly completed, I have experienced the ongoing issues – e.g., The gears jumped •The car wouldn’t accelerate past 20 mph •When placed in park, the transmission felt unstable •A check engine light/code appeared •4 Transmission order and all have failed to fix the problem As of 6/27/2025 the reorder of replacements CVT transmission have failed. The CVT unit is causing hard acceleration and jerking randomly. The CVT unit has a notification a few years ago on this model up to a certain mileage which I believe was 99,000 miles. My vechile just reached 113,000 miles and I am having this problem. It is safety and dangerous issue for me because I have been in traffic making turns when the acceleration seems to not go to gear and I almost caused an accident.

A few years ago, while in stop and start traffic on a hill, i experienced the hybrid engine and regular engine failure multiple times. Infiniti replaced my transmission. I have yet to recreate the same stop/start situation on a hill but have smelled the same smell of burning while in stop start traffic on a highway. Now infiniti has issues a recall for this very issue. I'm wondering what constitutes a "reasonable time" for infiniti to provide a solution as this is going on 6 months. I'm very concerned that my car is particularly vulnerable to this failure as it has occurred before. Yes, there was a warning that the hybrid system was overheating and then it died not much longer after the warning.

Purchased my QX60 3 months ago from a used dealership. Today while out of town, car abruptly stopped accelerating. I pushed to safety, let it sit, car began to start moving again. Within a short min, it was right back to shutting off and being stuck in traffic with 4 minor passengers. This is very dangerous and seemingly a more common issue than just me. The day after my wedding…. And I’m towing my car.

TOOK TO LOCALNISSAN DEALER TWIN CITY NISSAN PORT ARTHUR. THEY SAID THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS BAD. THIS IS THE THIRD ONE TO GO BAD. THEY REPAIRED ON 09/25/2024 WITH 121,178 MILES. THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY FROM THE TEXARKANA DEALER AS THEY DIDNT DO THE WORK. HAD TO PAY AGIN.

The contact owns a 2014 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact drove the vehicle to a nearby parking lot and parked the vehicle. The vehicle was turned off and restarted; however, the gear shifter failed to shift into drive or reverse. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the contact was informed that the installed alternator was not OEM and not sufficient for retaining power to run the vehicle. The contact was informed that the alternator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was towed back to the residence. The contact stated that the latest failure began in January 2024. However, the vehicle had been towed several times to the independent mechanic and the dealer since the failure first started. The contact stated that the alternator was replaced in March 2024 with an aftermarket alternator; however, the failure reoccurred. Additionally, there were several unknown warning lights illuminated since replacing the alternator. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 85,614.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The rear AWD electronic coupler is failing. It is available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? If it completely fails, the car can become inoperable while driving at any time. I was also told by the dealer that the differential could damage the transmission over time. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the dealer had diagnosed this issue. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning or messages. There is grinding when turning at low speeds and when driving sometimes there is a "bump" at around 40 mph. This was first diagnosed by the dealer in 2020 and again in 2022. There was a recall of the rear electronic coupler for the same year, make and model but, Infiniti says that it did not apply to my VIN. The TSB is 12-072C. My research of this issue shows that this issue common for my make, model and year. Clearly, this issue affects many more VINs than, originally recalled. The recall for this issue should be expanded to include my vehicle and extended so that this very expensive repair can be made without cost to me. I purchased this car because, I wanted a safe and reliable car to transport my small children. These critical issues jeopardize the health and safety of my family every day. My car is no longer safe or reliable. Additional, in 2020, at the time that the electronic coupler failure was diagnosed, something related to the CVT was replaced because of a recall. This year, I had to have the the transmission replaced. I now wonder if that could have been related to the CVT issue. My catalytic converters also had to be replaced this year.

THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE CVT NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED OR REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM THE MANUFACTURER ADDRESSING THE CVT ISSUE, BUT THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT HONOR THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000.

WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A DEAD STOP SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE PAUSES AND MOVES VERY SLOWLY ENOUGH TO GET YOU IN THE FRONT OF ON COMING VEHICLES, AND THEN WILL NOT EXCEED OVER 10 TO 12 MPH WHICH TAKES UP TO 30 TO 45 SEC. OR MORE. I NARROWLY ESCAPED A SEMI TRUCK HITTING ME ON THE DRIVERS SIDE PULLING OUT OF OUR LOCAL POST OFFICE. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I HAVE NEEDED TO YANK THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD SO AS NOT TO GET REAR ENDED IN TRAFFIC. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES, WHICH THEY SAID THEY FIXED THE ISSUE BY REPLACING SOMETHING CALLED A BREAK SWITCH, "TWICE" THIS HOWEVER DID NOT CORRECT PROBLEM. THE NATIONAL INFINITI GROUP SENT A RECORDING DEVICE WHICH THE DEALER INSTALLED, THIS MEANT THAT WHEN THIS EVENT OCCURRED I WAS SUPPOSED TO REACH DOWN TO THE CONSOLE WHERE THE DEVICE WAS LOCATED AND PUSH A BUTTON TO RECORD EVENT ALL THE WHILE TRYING TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. I SUCCESSFULLY DID IT WITHOUT INCIDENT AND RECORDED THE REQUESTED 6 EVENTS. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN CONSISTENTLY OCCURRING NOW FOR 7 MONTHS. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FOR MY ELDERLY PARENTS WITH EVERY AVAILABLE SAFETY OPTION FOR THEIR SAFETY, AND I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO LET THEM DRIVE THE CAR FOR OVER 6 MONTHS SINCE THEY TOOK IT ON A TRIP. FEARING THAT THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REACT FAST ENOUGH TO AVOID BEING IN AN ACCIDENT OR WORSE GETTING KILLED IN THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE BEEN FORCED TO DRIVE IT. The contact then stated that on another day, the front driver’s side low beam headlight became inoperable. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted and the contact was currently at the dealer The failure mileage was 101,966.

The contact owns a 2014 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, she noticed that the headlights were inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the headlight assemblies needed to be replaced due to moisture. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000. Consumer contacted the National Manufacturer Dealership Client Affairs on 04-01-2022 and was told nothing could be done with repairs because of wear and tear.

Arrived home, turned off engine while walking away from the car noticed the right front head light was off. after trying a few times to assess the problem, on 1/17/2022 took the car to the service department at South Motor Infiniti dealer (where car is always taken for maintenance). A few hours later, after they did a diagnostic report ($217.00) the Service Rep called us to get authorization to repair, the "BALLAST is fried must replace headlight", (cost $2,541.00 + tax) and recommended to repair the left front head light because it was very likely to fail also, another $2,541.00, we declined to do the work, simply cannot understand how can a light bulb may cost so much, is this logical? or maybe the original part was defective to begin with? Today I called Infiniti Consumer Affairs and they suggested to file a complain with your department, nothing they can do. My car was purchased brand new, Sept 2014, always properly maintained by the dealer, no accidents and driven less than 54,000 miles. I will appreciate if you can help me, any suggestions? THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER INFINITI OF LYNNWOOD (17305 HWY 99, LYNNWOOD, WA 98037, (425) 409-6274) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE CONTACT HAD NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 72,800. *LN*JB Consumer stated there is no water on driver's side but water is getting inside passenger side.

Driving at highway at about 65 mph last night with almost no cars around us when we (wife and I) heard loud bang above us almost like an explosion. I pulled over safely and found out the sunroof is completely shattered out of the blue. There was no cars or trucks around us and no debris. It just exploded. We were not harmed since the shade was pulled and prevented glass from falling into the inside of the car. Very scary experience

The contact owns a 2014 Infiniti QX60. The contact’s son stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the hood inadvertently unlatched and smashed the front windshield. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic where it was diagnosed with needing the windshield, hood release latch, and cosmetic repairs to the quarter panels. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V033000 (Structure) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN SUDDENLY MY SUNROOF SHATTERED. IT SOUNDED AS IF SOMEONE HIT MY GLASS WITH A BAT. IT WAS LATE AT NIGHT AND THERE WERE NO TRUCKS OR OTHER CARS AROUND ME. THERE ARE NO OTHER SCRATCHES OR DENTS ON THE ROOF OF MY CAR AND NO ROCKS WERE FOUND IN THE SHADE WITH THE GLASS. THANKFUL THAT I HAD THE SHADE CLOSED BECAUSE OTHER WISE I WOULD'VE BEEN COVERED IN GLASS AND POSSIBLY CUT. THIS HAS TO BE A RECALL, A SAFETY RECALL AT THAT.

MY 2014 INFINITI QX60 HAS A SUNROOF THAT EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65MPH WHEN I HEARD THE LOUDEST "BANG" I HAVE EVER HEARD. I THOUGHT THE CAR HAD GOTTEN SHOT. UPON PULLING OVER AND EXAMINING THE VEHICLE, I SAW THAT THE SUNROOF HAD EXPLODED. I HAD NOT PASSED UNDER ANY OVERPASSES, NO TRUCKS WERE NEAR MY VEHICLE. I NOTED THAT THE THERE WAS NOT EVEN A SCRATCH TO THE INTERIOR SUNROOF PANEL, WHICH WOULD HAVE SUSTAINED DAMAGE IF SOMETHING HAD FALLEN ON IT. FURTHERMORE, IT WAS OBVIOUS FROM THE GLASS THAT THE DAMAGE WAS NOT FROM A FALLING OBJECT. SHARDS OF GLASS HAD APPARENTLY BLOWN INTO THE STREETS AS I DROVE. When the vehicle slows from cruising speed to below 20 mph, the car shakes violently and the engine nearly stops. To avoid the shaking, I must place the vehicle in neutral until it comes to a complete stop. If I shift into drive before I stop, the vehicle shudders again. When in traffic, it could cause the vehicle to be rear-ended. My wife won't drive the vehicle because of this. The contact stated while driving from a complete stop, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle started shuddering, jerking, and hesitated to respond. An unknown warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the spark plugs and ignition coils needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure persisted. The contact stated that on another occasion while driving and coming to a complete stop, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was pushed to an independent mechanic who completed an unknown repair; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic where the sparks plugs and ignition coils were replaced. The failure reoccurred two weeks later. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V774000 (Engine and Engine Cooling, Hybrid Propulsion System) and the vehicle was towed to the dealer where the recall repair was completed. Additionally, the dealer diagnosed that the CVT transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then towed back to the residence. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000.

THE SECOND ISSUE CAME ABOUT AFTER THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AND HAS YET TO BE FIXED. THE ACCELERATOR WILL INTERMITTENTLY NOT WORK. THIS HAPPENS EITHER FROM A STOP ? This vehicle started shaking and juttering at a lower speed and made it very difficult to drive. Then I could accelerate and it would not go faster. I took it to a repair shop and they were getting CVT codes for the transmission. I looked online a found that many other people had these same issues as well as a Class Action Lawsuit that was settled a few years ago for 278 million for these problems. I was never informed that this CVT was a problem and could have it replaced from Nissan for no charge. I am not sure why Nissan would allow an unsafe transmission to be installed into a vehicle that would make the car unsafe to drive.

Vehicle has a CVT transmission and it failed around 87,000 miles. Both catalytic converters had to be replaced at this same time. When using assisted cruise control, the vehicle slams on the brake causing all passengers to jolt forward and vehicles behind to have to swerve not to hit me from behind. False automatic braking when passing a large vehicle. Engine constantly having issues and codes causing poor acceleration and jerking at low speeds. MAF sensor has failed twice in 5 months. Overall worst manufactured vehicle and very unsafe for driver and citizens.

I have an infiniti qx60 that has a hairbag malfunctioning for a long time now. I've taken it to be serviced by infiniti many times. However, they could never fix it. At one point, I decided to leave it alone until the last time I took the car in to be serviced. The person who was helping me noticed that I had two children car seats in the car, so he decided to tell me that this car isn't safe to be driving with young children in it. Don't know what to do since the warranties have expired. Plus, they couldn't fix it when I had warranties on the car. I'm afraid that my family is at risk driving this car. I would love to stop driving this car before something terrible happens to my children. However, it is our only means of getting around right now

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

On Jan 11, 2023 my infiniti qx60 hybrid AWD that I purchased with Premium and Technology packages that includes forward Collison warning (FCW) and intelligent braking system (IBS) failed to work. I got no warning and/or my emergency brake was applied by these systems that I paid high dollars for. I had to apply the hard braking myself to try stop my car from collision but it was too late and ended up rear ending someone in multi car chain accident. I am extremely concern that the Infiniti QX60 FCW and IBS are just sales gimmick and does not work all or not at the right time when you need them. The weather was cloudy but no rain or anything that could have blocked the car sonar and radar. However none of these systems worked. Prior to the accident I have noticed that occasionally I get IBA switched off obstruction warning with nothing in front of the car. The same issues have been noticed on the infiniti's sister brand Nissan's Pathfinder, Rogue and others. Thankfully no one got hurt in my wreck. But I lost my car. I bought all these expensive systems to protect me and my family for these situations. However infiniti systems failed to work on mine. Not sure what options I have to pursue as there are others who have the same issues that I noticed. Hope no one lose their lives before Infiniti and/or nissan can fix this problem. I would also like to know what my options are against a car manufacturer that sold systems that does not work, while the average public buy these expensive systems hoping to be protected from the unforscene accidents that can happen to no fault of their own. The car does not accelerate or accelerate with jerky motion. Occasionally, the vehicle disengaged out of drive mode and would not accelerate. There seems to be some transmission issues as the vehicles is making jerky movement upon acceleration. Almost cause accident on a turn as it could not move forward out of cross traffics!

The vehicle constantly shudders and almost stalls when in reverse or in low gear. The vehicle seems to not switch properly between the hybrid battery to the engine or vice-versa. The vehicle has a recall from October 2021 and Infiniti has not fixed the recall yet. I feel the vehicle is unsafe. I have emailed and contacted Infiniti to no avail. Infiniti has not remedied this recall in any fashion in almost a year.

The contact owns a 2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid. The contact stated that while at a complete stop, the vehicle would hesitate without warning upon depression of the accelerator pedal. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V774000 (Engine and Engine Cooling, Hybrid Propulsion System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not available. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer where it was left in their possession; the contact was given a loaner vehicle until the recall could be serviced. Months later, the contact received a call from the dealer that parts were now available and that her vehicle was repaired. Upon return of the vehicle, the contact stated that the original failure persisted and the vehicle was returned to the dealer. Once at the dealer, the vehicle was diagnosed with transmission failure and the contact was given an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and verified that the recall was serviced and no additional assistance was offered. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

I took it in for recall R21B4 to be reprogrammed and problem fixed. The problem still persist as I’m driving the vehicle loses all driving power which is dangerous while it has happened to me while driving on the express way. Infiniti is telling me i need to bring it back in to have my vehicle checked out and wants to charge me 186$ when the recall clearly states that the problem is the recall

Excessive Corrosion and Structural Integrity Failure of Rear Subframe - Rust Through and disintegrated into broken pieces with holes. 2014 - Car only 7 years old, the structural integrity and safety issue of this failure should not occur in this period of time. Dealer quoted $4,600 to fix, and denied it should be covered under warranty

I bought a 2014 INFINITI QX60 and after one week, my vehicle started to jerk after resuming from a stop sign or stop light but was just annoying at first. Later that day, the check engine light came on and I took it to auto zone to get the code which displayed "P1715 - Input Pulley Speed Signal" and secondary DTCs were P0776 (Pressure solenoid B performance/stuck off. When I am driving, I cannot make it a mile without having my RPMs skyrocket and my vehicle become inoperable and makes me turn my flashers on and find a place to pull over, shut off my vehicle, and restart it. This repeats over and over and over if I continue to get to the grocery store for essential needs but it is not safe to drive and will for sure cause a collision if it keeps happening. There are so many issues with this make/model and needs to be addressed for the safety of others on the road and myself/children as it is unexpected and very scary.

Electrical coupling faulty and cause the car to shudder and jerk. I took it to Priority Infinity Greenbrier it is a know issue. These coupling should last on these vehicles. component has not been inspected by manufacture. No warning notice at all

IT HAD A RECALL ON THE SOFTWARE A FEW YEARS AGO, WHICH APPARENTLY WAS SUPPOSED TO FIX THE ISSUE . HOWEVER, IT HAS NOT AND I HAVE TAKEN IT IN SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE BUT THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS. YET THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL MINUS THE HYBRID IS CURRENTLY RECALLED FOR THE SAME ISSUE. IT'S A CONCERN WHEN MY KIDS ARE IN THE CAR AND IT STALLS WHILE MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN. WE PURCHASED THE CAR IN NOVEMBER 11, 2013 AND THE PROBLEMS STARTED SHORTLY THEREAFTER. WE HAVE EXTENSIVE PAPERWORK OVER THE COURSE OF 4 YEARS THAT CONFIRMS THE NUMEROUS TIMES WE'VE UNSUCCESSFULLY ATTEMPTED TO GET INFINITI TO SOLVE THE PROBLEMS. AT ONE POINT, INFINITI SUPPOSEDLY FIXED THE PROBLEM BY COMPLETELY CHANGING OUT THE SOFTWARE BUT THE PROBLEMS RETURNED. IN FACT, EVERY SINGLE TIME WE BROUGHT THE CAR TO INFINITI, EVEN IF IT WAS JUST FOR AN OIL CHANGE OR ROUTINE SERVICE, WE INFORMED THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE CAR WASN'T FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY. WE HAVE PUT ONLY 37,000 MILES ON THE CAR AND WE'VE TAKEN VERY GOOD CARE OF IT, PERFORMED EVERY SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE, USE ONLY PREMIUM GAS, ETC. FROM ALMOST AS SOON AS WE TOOK POSSESSION, WE BEGIN EXPERIENCING SEVERE ISSUES: "HIGH REVVING WHEN IDLING "LAG/HESITATION WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A DEAD STOP "HIGH REVVING WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES. WE WERE TOLD TO NOT DRIVE THE CAR IN SPORT MODE WITH THE AIR CONDITION RUNNING. "TRANSMISSION HAS NEEDED SOFTWARE UPDATES "EXTREMELY LOUD SOUNDS FROM THE ENGINE "JUDDERING, ALMOST STALLING BECAUSE ENGINE IS NOT GETTING A STEADY SUPPLY OF AIR, FUEL OR POWER "FUEL TANK IS SLOW TO FILL AND FILLING NOZZLE SHUTS OFF BEFORE TANK IS FULL "MUCH LOWER MILEAGE THAN PROMISED - NO BETTER THAN A CONVENTIONAL ENGINE CAR REGARDLESS OF WHETHER IT IS ECONOMY, REGULAR OR SPORT MODE "BRAKING ISSUES. I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY INFINITI QX60 SINCE I PURCHASED IT 09/2014. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH IT ACCELERATING. I WOULD PRESS ON THE GAS AND IT WOULDN'T GIVE ME THE ACELLERATION THAT I WOULD EXPECT FROM THIS CAR... IT IS VERY SLUGGISH. I HAVE TOLD THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS SINCE 2014. EVERY TIME THEY CHECKED IT, THEY SAID THERE WASN'T A PROBLEM. ONE TIME, I RECEIVED THE SAME CAR AS A LOANER CAR WHILE THEY WORKED ON MY CAR, AND I COULD CLEARLY SEE THAT THERE WAS A DIFFERENCE IN THE WAY THAT CAR DROVE VERSUS MINE. THE LOANER CAR DROVE BETTER THAN MY CAR. SO, TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT, I DROPPED MY CAR OFF AT THE DEALERSHIP IN MID-MAY (LAST MONTH) TO BE LOOKED AT. THE SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH MY CAR (JUDDER ISSUE) AND THEY HAD MY CAR FOR A WEEK. DURING THAT TIME, I WENT ONLINE AND FOUND OTHERS HAD THE SAME COMPLAINTS. ONE PERSON SAID THAT THEIR DEALERSHIP ENDED UP PURCHASING THEIR CAR BACK FROM THEM/ REFUNDED THEIR MONEY BECAUSE THE JUDDER ISSUE WASN'T RESOLVED. I ALSO SPOKE TO A REGIONAL SPECIALIST AT INFINITI AND HAVE A CASE # OF CASE # 22529177. I AM GOING TO CONTACT THE REGIONAL SPECIALIST AGAIN BECAUSE THIS ISSUE ISN'T RESOLVED BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT INFINITI SELLS INFERIOR CARS. ANOTHER ISSUE IS THE RUBBER MOLDING ON THE PASSENGER RIGHT DOOR IS COMING OFF AND PREVENTING ME FROM CLOSING THE DOOR AND WHEN SOMEONE IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, WITH THEIR SEATBELT IS ON, THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON. I WAS TOLD IT WAS PART OF THE ENGINE BREAK-IN PROCESS. WHEN I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN FOR ITS 10K SERVICE, I AGAIN COMPLAINED OF THIS HAPPENING, BUT THEY CAN'T REPLICATE THE RESULTS. IT HAS HAPPENED 2X SINCE MY LAST SERVICE, ONCE WITHIN 24 HRS OF THE SERVICE AND THE OTHER AT APPROXIMATELY 14910 MILES. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR AS I'M AFRAID TO GET REAR ENDED. I HAVE FOUND AT LEAST 3 OTHER REPORTED INCIDENCES OF THIS BY OTHERS ONLINE AND THE DEALERS DON'T SEEM TO BE DOING ANYTHING TO RECTIFY THE ISSUE. THERE HAS BEEN NO PATTERN DISTINGUISHABLE -- NO CORRELATION BETWEEN WEIGHT OF PERSON, IN CAR WHEN/WHEN NOT STARTED, NOR HOW LONG LIGHT HAS STAYED ON OR IF IT DID GO OFF AFTER >3MIN. WE HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES, FOUR OFFICIALLY ON THE SERVICE HISTORY, AND AT LEAST TWO OTHER TIMES AS A "DRIVE THRU" TO CONFIRM THAT INDEED MY FAMILY WOULD BE SAFE IF IN AN ACCIDENT (VERBAL REASSURANCE GIVEN BY SERVICE MANAGER FOR EACH OF THOSE "DRIVE-THRU" TIMES). SERVICE MANAGER SAID SYSTEM IS WORKING PROPERLY PRIOR TO INITIAL OCS REPROGRAM COMPLETED 6/5/14 (RECALL NUMBER 14V138000). LIGHT REMAINED ON WHILE PULLING OUT OF DEALERSHIP ON 6/5/14 AND THEY REPROGRAMED IT AGAIN BEFORE LEAVING. DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE DEALERSHIP IS OVER 30 MILES AWAY, AS WELL AS THEIR INSISTENCE THAT THE SYSTEM IS "WORKING PROPERLY", I HAVE NOT TAKEN IT IS MANY TIMES WHEN THE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON. IF TAKEN IN EACH TIME, THIS WOULD BE PROBABLY EVERY TEN DAYS - TWO WEEKS. IF THE LIGHT HAS NOT GONE OFF, I HAVE MADE THAT PERSON GET INTO THE BACK SEAT. OVER 90% OF THE TIME, THESE HAVE BEEN FAMILY MEMBERS, WEIGHING BETWEEN 90#-200# AND ALL OVER 5' TALL. ADDITIONAL SERVICE HISTORY TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE ARE: 8/20/14, 8/25/14, 3/24/15. SERVICE MANAGER FREQUENTLY UNABLE TO DUPLICATE CONCERNS, INSISTS SYSTEM IS FUNCTIONING APPROPRIATELY. WHEN ASKED IF HE WOULD CONSIDER PLACING HIS LOVED ONE IN THIS SEAT WITH THE LIGHT ON, TRUSTING THE FUNCTION WILL PROTECT THOSE IN A HIGHWAY ACCIDENT, HE STATED, "I UNDERSTAND YOUR CONCERNS." *TR

PROBLEM 1: APPROXIMATELY 4 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR, WE NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WOULD DEACTIVATE DURING OPERATION WHILE AN ADULT WAS IN THE SEAT. CAR WAS TAKEN TO INFINITI DEALER AND SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED ACCORDING TO THE AIRBAG RECALL. HOWEVER THE ISSUE CONTINUES TO REMAIN AND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG STILL RANDOMLY DEACTIVATES WHILE AN ADULT IS IN THE SEAT. INFINITI HAS BEEN INFORMED MULTIPLE TIMES BUT STATES THAT THE ISSUE CANNOT BE REPLICATED AND AS SUCH HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING TO FIX IT. INFINITI HAS STATED THAT THE SEAT BELTS CONTINUE TO WORK AND IS THE FIRST LINE DEFENSE IN AN ACCIDENT! PROBLEM 2: APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR, WE EXPERIENCED TRANSMISSION JUDDER AT LOW SPEEDS (5-10MPH) AND GOING AROUND CORNERS. INFINITI UPDATED THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE BUT THE ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN FULLY SOLVED. THE TRANSMISSION STILL HAS SOME JUDDERING. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS,THE GAS PEDAL ON THE CAR GOT STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION CAUSING THE CAR TO ACCELERATE UNCONTROLLABLY. THE FIRST TIME WAS WHILE ACCELERATING ONTO THE HIGHWAY. WHEN I LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL, IT STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION AND I HAD TO MANUALLY DISENGAGE IT WITH MY FOOT. THE SECOND TIME ON 3/7/2015 AT 2050, MY WIFE WAS DRIVING AT A STEADY SPEED OF 65 MPH WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WENT DOWN ON ITS OWN CAUSING THE CAR TO ACCELERATE TO APPROXIMATELY 85 MPH BEFORE SHE WAS ABLE TO DISENGAGE THE PEDAL. THERE WAS NOTHING UNDERNEATH THE PEDAL TO CAUSE IT TO GET STUCK EITHER TIME. MY WIFE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD BY THE GENERAL MANAGER, [XXX], THAT IT WAS PROBABLY THE RUG STUCK UNDER THE PEDAL AND THE ALL WEATHER MAT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN PUT OVER THE STANDARD MAT. THESE HAD BEEN INSTALLED BY THE DEALER AND WE EXPLAINED THAT THE MATS WERE NOT NEAR THE PEDAL. THEY FINALLY AGREED TO COME GET THE VEHICLE TO CHECK IT. WHEN THE DRIVER CAME TO PICK IT UP, HE STATED HE WAS TOLD THE MATS WERE CAUSING THE PEDAL TO GET STUCK. WE TOLD HIM THAT WAS NOT THE CASE AND WE DIDN'T THINK THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. HE TESTED THE GAS PEDAL WITH THE VEHICLE OFF AND SAID IT FELT ABNORMAL. IT HAD A CLICK MID WAY DOWN AS WELL AS A CLICK AT THE VERY BOTTOM OF THY RANGE OF THE PEDAL. SEPARATE BUT RELATED ISSUES: 1) CRASH- CAR WAS PARKED AT A GAS STATION WITH NOBODY INSIDE; AFTER A MINUTE OR TWO IT REVERSED, TURNED, CAME TO A STOP, THEN MOVED FORWARD AND CRASHED INTO A WALL. HAVE GAS STATION SURVEILLANCE VIDEO FOOTAGE TO SHOW. HAS BEEN DESCRIBED AS "HAUNTED." PERHAPS RELATED TO ACCIDENT AVOIDANCE SYSTEMS. 2) POWER DOES NOT ENGAGE ON INCLINE- ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS (REPEATABLE) WHEN THE CAR IS ON A MODEST INCLINE AND STOPPED, THE FORWARD POWER DOES NOT ENGAGE CAUSING CAR TO ROLL BACKWARD. GAS MUST BE PRESSED TO 3/4 FULL SPEED IN ORDER TO ENGAGE POWER. 3) TRANSMISSION DESIGN FLAW- IN ANY GEAR OTHER THAN PARK, THE CAR CAN ROLL FREELY IN ANY DIRECTION, WITH OR WITHOUT ENGINE RUNNING. FOR EXAMPLE IF FACING DOWNHILL AND IN REVERSE, WITH CAR RUNNING, THE CAR CAN ROLL FORWARD WITHOUT STOP OR RESISTANCE FROM THE TRANSMISSION / ENGINE OR STALLING OUT, HENCE LOCKING THE ENGINE. 4) BATTERY ISSUE- ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS WITHIN A FEW MONTHS OF PURCHASE, THE BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DEPLETED REQUIRING A JUMP START. GIVEN ALL THE ELECTRONICS IN THE CAR THAT PREVENT SUCH A THING (LIGHTS TURN OFF, CAN'T LOCK KEYS IN CAR, ETC) SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE. DEALER FOUND NO CAUSE.

PURCHASED NEW 2014 QX60 HYBRID EQUIPPED WITH TECHNOLOGY PACKAGE, INCLUDING INTELLIGENT BRAKE ASSIST WITH FORWARD COLLISION WARNING, AND DISTANCE CONTROL ASSIST. INITIALLY THE ONLY ISSUE WAS THE VEHICLE HESITATING WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMED THE VEHICLE NEEDED A BREAK-IN PERIOD TO OPTIMIZE THE ENGINE AND HYBRID SYSTEM. TWO WEEKS LATER AS I WAS DRIVING THROUGH A PARKING LOT LESS THAN 15 MPH, THE DRIVER SEAT BELT SUDDENLY PRE-TENSED TIGHTLY AS I APPLIED THE BRAKES, SUDDENLY PINNING ME TO SEAT UNTIL VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY STOPPED. IT HAPPENED AGAIN THE NEXT DAY WHEN GENTLY APPLYING BRAKE WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED ON RESIDENTIAL STREET. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP AND EXPLAINED EACH TIME IT HAPPENED WHEN APPLYING BRAKES AT LOW SPEED WITH NO VEHICLES OR OBSTACLES IN VICINITY. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE CHECKED THE VEHICLE OVER 24 HOURS AND COULD NOT DETECT THE PROBLEM, RETURNING THE VEHICLE TO ME. AFTER A WEEK IT BEGAN AGAIN, EACH TIME TIGHTENING QUICKLY AND PINNING ME INTO MY SEAT UNTIL VEHICLE COMPLETELY STOPPED. OCCURRED RANDOMLY AT SPEEDS LESS THAN 20MPH AND NO CARS, PEDESTRIANS OR OBSTACLES NEAR VEHICLE. NO ALARMS, NO WARNING AND NO REASON. NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AS IT OCCURRED AS OFTEN AS 3 TIMES IN LESS THAN 24HRS, I LEFT MY VEHICLE AT DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE AGAIN. AFTER SEVERAL DAYS, BOTH SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE AND SERVICE MANAGER STATED THEY WERE ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THE SEAT BELT IS NOT COMMUNICATING WITH AIRBAG/SAFETY SYSTEM OR RECOGNIZE THE HYBRID SYSTEM. SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE CONFIRMED OTHER QX60 HYBRIDS DETECTED SAME SEAT BELT MALFUNCTIONING DURING MANUFACTURING LINE TEST.
