Vehicle is leaking water from A pillars and it is damaging the vehicles electrical systems. Humidity build up and mildew from the entry of water after a down pour caused mold to build up throughout the entire floor board. Dealer ship needs to address these issues and have a complementary inspection/service to resolve this matter. This can lead to electrical problems and airbag inoperative issues. To conclude this can total the owners vehicle since the fuses sit by the A pillar. Water entry will also cause corrosion to vehicle cause damage and jeopardizing the integrity of the vehicle structure.

Water leaking from roof, thought it was from the surround sunroof. Could hear air coming from roof. On December 30, 2024, after three weeks of heavy rain, found cup holders filled with water. Car started up, but the round button would not lift up from console next to cup holders. Could not put the car in drive, reverse, or neutral. Had to call for tow truck and take to dealership. Was told that the water damage was not from the sunroof, but in fact, from the front windshield coming detached from the glue. This was a great concern for me, because of the safety issue of not knowing that there was a problem with the 2018 models having this issue. We had done our research in looking up any issues with this car before we bought it. We did not find anything describing this issue. The windshield could have come unattached while driving down the highway at 60-70 mph.

Leaking front windshield at the center and right. Known issue with this car and series, but somehow this specific VIN is not in the group for the recall. This occurred exactly like the others and it should be covered. I had to argue with Aristocrat Motors in Miriam and they decided (for now, hasn't been completed) to cover it. This should be covered for the other VINS that aren't included in the recall.

WE OWN A LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 2018. WHEN DRIVING THE 2018 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT LAG IN THE THROTTLE SPOT ON THE TIME YOU PUSH THE GAS PEDAL TO THE TIME THE CAR RECOGNIZES THAT INPUT AND BEGINS TO MOVE. SOMETIMES THE LAG IS UP TO TWO SECONDS. THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSED A COUPLE OF ACCIDENTS AS YOU PUSH ON THE GAS EXPECTING THE CAR TO MOVE AND IT DOESN'T MOVE AND THEN SURGES UNEXPECTEDLY AFTER THE LONG LAG. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED TO LAND ROVER FOR SOMETIME, SINCE BEFORE LAST SUMMER 2018 YET THEY DONE NOTHING TO FIX IT YET. THE LAND ROVER DEALERSHIP SAYS TO CONTACT LAND ROVER CORPORATE. LAND ROVER CORPORATE SAYS TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP. NO ONE HAS ANY IDEA WHEN IT WILL BE FIXED AND THE DEALERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGES THAT LAND ROVER CORPORATE HAS KNOWN ABOUT IT FOR QUITE SOME TIME. THEY ALSO STATED IT IS A PROBLEM IN THE LAND ROVER MODEL, THE RANGE ROVER, AS WELL. COULD SOMEONE AT NHSTA PLEASE OPEN AN INQUIRY BEFORE ANYONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT OR WORSE AS LAND ROVER DOESN'T SEEM TO BE IN A HURRY TO RESOLVE IT. SOME ONE IS GOING TO GET HURT OR WORSE, IF THEY HAVEN'T ALREADY.

My 2018 Land Rover Discovery started leaking water from the top of the front windshield any time it rained. The water intruded on the interior of the vehicle including, interior windshield, electronics mounted toward the top middle of the windshield, dashboard, seats, and electronics/buttons/controllers on the center console. The vehicle also made a loud "whistling noise" when driven due to an obvious issue with the windshield. I brought the car to the dealer on 1/7/2025. They verified the issue as an ongoing problem with Land Rover windshields leaking, stating many have shorted out the electronic systems on the vehicles due to water damage. They refused to take responsibility for the issue saying there was no formal recall on the vehicle. However, a search on google found that this is an ongoing problem that had been identified on a number of Land Rover vehicles where "water ingress into the passenger compartment or wind noise may be evident". See Bulletin: NAS18.09.004 issued by Jaguar Land Rover North America LLC on 3/23/2020 (listed as an After Sales Bulletin). Obviously Land Rover has been aware of this potentially dangerous situation since 2020 and has chosen NOT to cover the defect in manufacturing/assembly which I was forced to pay for. The cost to repair exceeded $1k out of pocket for an issue that should be a mandatory recall on all affected vehicles. Water making its way into the electronic system of the affected vehicles can result in a potential dangerous driving situation. This is a formal complaint and to put Jaguar/Land Rover North America on notice of a potential hazardous situation for which they refuse to take responsibility.

WHILE TRAVELING OR STANDING STILL THE VEHICLE LEAKS RAINWATER FROM THE ENTIRE TOP FRONT WINDSHIELD. DEPENDING ON HOW HARD AND HOW MUCH RAIN IS FALLING WILL DEPEND ON HOW MUCH WATER LEAKS AND ACCUMULATES INSIDE INTO THE INTERIOR VEHICLE CABIN. I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL INCHES IN CUP HOLDERS AFTER A LONG RAINSTORM. THE DEALER ADVISED THEY HAVE HAD SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON THIS PARTICULAR MAKE/MODEL. ADVISE THEY WILL REPLACE SEAM LOCATED ON TOP OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE PART ON ORDER, STILL WAITING FOR THE DEALER TO CALL. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD WHICH IMPAIRS DRIVERS VISIBILITY DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER, CAUSES UNNECESSARY DISTRACTION AND A POSSIBLE ELECTRICAL HAZARD.

UPON STAYING IN THE MOUNTAINS OF NORTH CAROLINA AND ENTERING THE CAR ONE MORNING AFTER A RAIN STORM, AND WHILE STILL RAINING IN THAT MORNING, WATER HAD BEEN AND CONTINUED TO, LEAK IN THROUGH THE TOP PASSENGER SIDE OF THE WINDOW SHIELD. THIS RESULTED IN A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF WATER ON THE HEADLINER, FLOORING, AND DASH BOARD. VEHICLE HAS REMAINED WITH DEALERSHIP SINCE 11/29 FOR REPAIRS AND PART REPLACEMENT. PER DEALERSHIP, THE FAULTY WINDOW SHIELD IS A KNOWN AND COMMON PROBLEM IN THE NEW DISCOVERYS YET HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED. AS AN ATTORNEY AND AN OWNER OF A 2018 DISCOVERY, I HAVE ESCALATED TO JAGUAR LANDROVER CORPORATE. I HAVE A VIDEO AND PHOTOS AVAILABLE HOWEVER I BELIEVE THE VIDEO IS TOO LARGE TO UPLOAD. POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO ELECTRICAL AND/OR LONG TERM DAMAGE AND LOSS OF VALUE IS UNKNOWN.

Pulled out of car wash to drying area. Car was still in D, with foot on brake. After a few moments, auto start/stop triggered shutting the car off, but rotary gear selector retracted while still in D. Would not allow restart as trans still in Drive and dash displayed Gearbox malfunction. After a 15 minute wait for system restart, tried to start to no avail. Had to get Discovery towed to dealer which informed that gear selector failed and needed replacement. Thank goodness I wasn't in a traffic situation. This problem has recalls on other models in same model year. Desire the Discovery (D5) to be included in recall. Car is at 82K miles.

WHEN ATTEMPTING TO MAKE EVASIVE MANEUVERS DURING NORMAL DRIVING THERE IS A VERY SIGNIFICANT DELAY AFTER STEPPING ON THE ACCELERATOR. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM AND SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHEN SLOWING DOWN AND THEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. THIS HAS ALREADY ALMOST RESULTED IN 2 ACCIDENTS. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE DEALER AND I WAS ADVISED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. THE SERVICE MANAGER INFORMED ME IN PERSON THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS, BUT THAT THE COMPANY HAS NOT BEEN FORTHCOMING WITH A REMEDY.

FROM A STANDSTILL, THE GAS PEDAL ACTUATION CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO LAUNCH INSTEAD OF SMOOTH ACCELERATION. FROM A ROLLING STOP, HITTING THE GAS PEDAL THERE IS A SEVERE LAG AS THE TRUCK SHIFTS TO THE NECESSARY GEAR AND MOVES AT THE EXPECTED RATE, AGAIN LURCHING THE OCCUPANTS

UPON ACCELERATION FROM A STOP OR LOW SPEED, THE VEHICLE NOTICEABLY LAGS CAUSING A SAFETY PROBLEM WHEN TURNING IN FRONT OF CROSSING TRAFFIC (LEFT HAND TURN) OR MERGING INTO TRAFFIC. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO ADJUST MY DRIVING STYLE, BUT YESTERDAY WAS ALMOST HIT FROM BEHIND WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC.

At the end of 2022 and early last year, I had multiple issues with the roof of my 2018 Land Rover Discovery coming apart/detached from the roof. On [XXX] a piece of my roof came off again that had already been replaced in 2023. There are four separate roof pieces and this is the fourth time one has separated from the vehicle (I believe three of the pieces at this point have detached). Two times, the roof pieces came off while I was driving on the highway, this could have seriously injured someone, luckily neither time hit a car or pedestrian. Land Rover will not accept that this is an issue with the build/body of the vehicle. I found a Land Rover forum where many people are having these same issues: [XXX] I am concerned that this will happen on the highway, cause an accident, and owner's will be held liable. I have attached multiple pictures I have taken reflecting this issue over the last year and a half, I tried to add more but I am receiving an error message. To whom it may concern, I am writing to file a complaint about a serious defect in my Land Rover Discovery vehicle. The defect is a roof leakage near the windshield where it attaches to the body. This causes water to seep into the interior of the car and damage the electrical components. The service technician at the dealership informed me that they need to break the windshield in order to fix the leak and then replace the windshield. The estimate for this repair was around $3,500, which is unacceptable for a relatively new vehicle. I bought this pre-inspected vehicle in mid-2022 from the Land Rover dealership. I have learned from online sources that this is a common problem with many Land Rover vehicles, and that it poses a safety hazard as well as a financial burden for the owners. I request that you investigate this issue and issue a recall for all affected vehicles. I also request that you reimburse me for the cost of the repair or provide me with a replacement vehicle. I appreciate your attention to this matter and hope to hear from you soon. July 2023 Jaguar LandRover of Sarasota serviced LandRover Discovery 2018 and checked for defect described in campaign no. 23V393 recall no. N 798. I was told my Discovery did not have the defect. One week later I was driving 40mph with my 12 year old autistic son in the back passenger seat when the door flew open. Fortunately, my son did not fall out of the car and we were not hit by oncoming traffic. The car needed to be towed and over a week later the dealership advised they have no part to repair the car, no loaner to offer me and no explanation as to why my car was checked for the defect in July apparently finding nothing, only to be put in a very dangerous position a week later. As an add on issue, my front passenger window will not roll up. This happened to the window on my driver side last year and was told the window motor needed to be replaced. Now the window on the passenger side stopped working. Is it possible water leaking into the door is eroding the electrical window motor stopping it from working. Can the passenger door lock and the window motor issue be connected? On four separate occasions trim on my Discovery have fallen off in the carwash. I was charged for parts and labor even though it did not seem normal for parts to literally fall off my car from being washed. I would like to be compensated for parts I had to purchase as well as the window being repaired at no cost. At the very least I expected a loaner vehicle, was told there were zero loaners available and have gone 8 days without transportation and secondly I would like to know how it is possible for the car to be checked for recall defect and told the car was safe and defect free.

Car went black (all systems shut off) and i started to roll in the CVS parking lot when i was trying to drive in and Park. The brakes and nothing was engaging. IT happened so fast I was able to stop the vehicle and I am not sure how but may have just turned the shifter from drive to park... I took the vehicle in for service (a number of issues) and i forgot to mention this, I was told the Ground Stud needed replacing and it turned out this was likely the cause (I believe he said it had come loose). I have a extended warranty that has comprehensive coverage with CNA and they denied this part. Also, Land Rover recalled this exact part on 2019 and 2020 vehicles, clearly my 2018 has the same issue. Makes me wonder how many other 2018 vehicles also have the issue?

THE KEY FOB IS CONSISTENTLY HAS ISSUES WITH STARTING THE VEHICLE. KEY WILL NOT UNLOCK DOORS WHEN TOUCHING THE HANDLE. VEHICLE WILL NOT START WHEN PARKED. THIS IS UNSAFE BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN STRANDED IN PUBLIC PLACES IN THE COLD AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE DEALERSHIP WAS ACTUALLY NO ASSISTANCE. CHANGING BATTERS DID NOT WORK. REPROGRAMMING KEYS DID NOT WORK. THEY PROMISED TO ORDER A NEW KEY FOB, AND THEN THEY SAID IT WAS BACKORDERED. I FELT LIKE THIS IS A LIE. THEY HAVE STRUNG ME ALONG WITH NO RESOLUTION. I HAVE PROVIDED FOUR SERVICE RECORDS TO SHOW THE AMOUNT OF TIMES THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE VEHICLE NOT STARTING FROM KEY FOB NOT BEING RECOGNIZED.

THERE IS A DANGEROUS THROTTLE LAG WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A ROLLING STOP. MANY USERS HAVE NEARLY HAD ACCIDENTS LIKE ME. YOU PRESS THROTTLE AND IT DOES NOTHING FOR LIKE 2 SECONDS THEN SUDDENLY ENGINE PICKS UP... ITS A GASOLINE V6 ENGINE SO ITS NOT TURBO LAG.... AND WHEN YOU ARE ACTUALLY STOPPED AND ACCELERATE ITS JUST FINE. ITS JUST WHEN SLOWLY ROLLING ITS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!!!

WHEN VEHICLE IS UNDER 10 MILES AN HOUR OR BRIEFLY STOPPED AND PRESSURE IS REMOVED FROM ACCELERATOR, WHEN PRESSING ACCELERATOR TO MOVE AGAIN THERE IS A 1-2 SECOND DELAY IN RESPONSE. TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO BE IN WRONG GEAR THEN SHIFTS AFTER A DELAY RESULTING IN CAR NOT RESPONDING TO THROTTLE INPUT THEN JUMPING UNEXPECTEDLY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN EXECUTING LEFT OR RIGHT TURNS INTO TRAFFIC SINCE CAR DOESN'T RESPOND AS EXPECTED AND NORMAL. VERY EASY TO REPRODUCE THIS ISSUE.
