A potential concern has been identified on specific vehicles within the above vehicle range. A concern has been identified on Ingenium I4 2.0L Petrol Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) engines where the coolant pump drive belt can become damaged leading to detachment or destruction. Where coolant pump drive is lost, this leads to a loss of coolant flow in the engine. The lack of coolant flow can cause the engine to rapidly overheat, and subsequently ruptures an engine mounted plastic elbow in the cooling circuit. If the coolant elbow is ruptured this leads to a coolant leak onto the turbocharger heatshield which may lead to a fire in the engine compartment which can propagate to the whole vehicle. Land Rover/Range Rover does not have remote start on the key fob, but instead proudly boasts of their InControl App. "InControl Remote provides information on your vehicle and enables you to interact with it remotely. Compatible with most AndroidTM and Apple iOS smartphones, this service allows you to lock/unlock the doors, remotely preheat/precool the vehicle using the climate control function and remote engine start, or find your Land Rover faster by using the Beep and Flash feature." A quick look at the App reviews or an online google search of this product indicates this simply is not the case. The App is unreliable at best and unsafe at worst. It absolutely does not operate as marketed. The App is defective and Land Rover is well aware and has done nothing to correct this. I have been locked outside of my own Range Rover multiple times in various locations. Today, there was a winter gale warning of Real Feel 17 degrees. I started my car about five minutes before exiting. The App showed that my car started. When I was about one minute from my car, I opened the App to unlock my vehicle. It said it was unlocked. I physically saw the side mirrors on my car close and heard the doors lock as I was approaching. The App continued to show that my car was running and unlocked. I stood outside the car in the freezing weather (note that I could SEE my key fob inside the car) waiting for the App to refresh so I could unlock. I took a screenshot of the App indicting my car was unlocked and a video of me trying the handle on my car at this time. After approximately 5 minutes, I started walking back to the restaurant. The continued to try to use the App. I emailed [email protected]. Finally, it showed that I could lock my already locked car, so I locked it and unlocked it. I walked back out. It was not unlocked. I called Roadside Assistance for help. She was in the process of filing for someone to come unlock my car, when I tried the App again 10 min later. It unloc

THIS CAR DOES NOT HAVE A SPARE TIRE. I WAS UNABLE TO GET A FLAT TIRE REPAIRED IN THE DARK OF THE NIGHT AFTER HITTING A POT HOLE. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY ANY CAR WOULD BE ALLOWED ON THE ROAD WITHOUT A SPARE TIRE!

Faulty code P0A7B and P0A1F for the Battery Energy Control Module BECM was diagnosed. Check engine light appeared and then car shut off at a light when attempting to press accelerator. Was told by dealer the part needed replacement instead of just a software update. A recall was shown in general for my year and type but not specifically for my vehicle. My vehicle should be included with this recall to replace the component.

Car jumped forward while coming to a stop. Almost hit a child crossing in the crosswalk. Also happened numerous times coming to a stop at the off ramp. Engine idles very rough, high pitch idle, and RPMs surge up and down on their own. Dealer won’t believe us. They don’t want to use resources to fix what is covered by warranty. This car is a danger to drive. Has also stalled unexpectedly. Dealer only looks for software update and warning lights. We’ve never had a warning light and updates do absolutely nothing. Forums show others are experiencing the same thing. Dealer said they cannot spend that amount of time to find the problem. This is a liability and major safety issue that Range Rover needs to be addressed. Car has 9000 miles. Car shutters and bounces. RPMS unpredictable and car has idling issues. Please help -we don’t want to hit someone because the car unexpectedly lunges forward.

SERVICE BRAKES
2 complaints
I had not driven the vehicle for about a week. When I started it, there was a message on the dash about the hill descent malfunctioning. I put the vehicle in Reverse, and without pressing the accelerator, it was incredibly difficult to stop. Had I not been in my own driveway, this would have been very dangerous. I had the vehicle towed to a service center, and they confirmed that the auxiliary battery was not producing enough voltage and this caused the brakes to fail. After researching this online, I can see that it is a known design flaw experienced by many people, but it has not been resolved by Land Rover! If this battery had failed in a different scenario, I may have been unable to stop the vehicle with a crash resulting.

The contact owns a 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the check engine, coolant, and oil warning lights simultaneously flashed on the instrument panel. The contact also stated that the vehicle had failed to start after several attempts. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to a dealer, but the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was then towed to an independent mechanic where the mechanic linked the failure to the engine cam carrier listed in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V044000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was then towed to another independent mechanic but was not repaired and remained in possession of the independent mechanic. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,STRUCTURE
1 complaint
I am reporting a significant safety issue related to my 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport involving sunroof water intrusion that has caused serious electrical failures throughout the vehicle. Shortly after owning the vehicle, I began to notice water leaking from the sunroof area, which has now caused malfunctions in the electrical system. These include: •Unresponsive or erratic infotainment and dashboard displays •Malfunctioning electronic safety features •Water pooling near or inside the footwell •Warning lights and errors on the instrument panel •Intermittent failure of lights, power seats, and other electronic systems This defect poses a safety hazard because electrical components exposed to water may fail while the vehicle is in operation, possibly leading to loss of vehicle control, disabled safety systems (e.g., airbags or brakes), or electrical shorts that could result in a fire. Upon researching, I discovered that this is a known issue in multiple Land Rover and Range Rover models, including Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) issued in prior years. It appears to stem from poor drainage design or faulty sunroof seals, and the location of sensitive electronic modules beneath areas prone to leaks. I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate this issue to determine whether it qualifies for a recall, and to ensure Land Rover is held accountable for resolving what appears to be a widespread and dangerous design flaw. Please contact me for additional documentation, photos, or repair records. I am currently working with a dealership, and I may pursue action under New Jersey’s Lemon Law if this is not resolved.

The contact stated that her husband depressed the accelerator pedal; however, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle coasted to the side of the highway and stalled. The contact stated that her husband attempted several times before being able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was driven to the destination; however, after returning to the vehicle, the vehicle failed to restart. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer and was diagnosed with fuel pump failure. The contact was informed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.

I took my Range Rover in for a coolant leak, was told there was a Recall on a battery system, the recall was a software update to prevent that battery system from going offline. The system was already offline, and Land Rover North America refuses to honor the intent of the recall, and is refusing to cover the cost to replace that battery system. It only seems logical that if a recall is to prevent an issue from occurring yet the issue has already occurred, they should cover the cost to fix it. Notes form dealer below: RECALL - PERFORM OPEN RECALL # Labor $0.00 1. Unable to perform recall # N861 at this time due to BECM being off line. BECM requires replacement beforerecall can be performed.

STEERING,ENGINE,LANE DEPARTURE
1 complaint
Vehicle Safety and Functionality Concerns: 1.Steering Issues: Steering remains uncentered and unresponsive despite new tires and alignment at the dealership. Excessive steering margin, particularly dangerous in rainy conditions, leading to steering errors. 2.As the new generation Range Rover Sport in 2020, it has dual exhaust pipes, but only one side works. The dealer just said it was normal, but it is visually estimated that it will cause serious environmental pollution. 3.Lane Keeping Assistance Malfunction: The feature is almost non-functional, failing to keep the vehicle in its lane even under clear weather and road conditions. 4.Self-Closing Door Hazard: Doors lack anti-pinch sensors, causing multiple finger injuries to family members, including a severe incident where a finger was pinched off. This poses a severe safety risk, especially for children.

SUSPENSION,LANE DEPARTURE
1 complaint
1. The central control display of the vehicle is often black and the map cannot be viewed while driving, which will cause tension and panic and make driving unsafe; 2. The lane centering of the vehicle often does not work, it cannot work normally, and it directly deviates to other lanes; 3. The automatic closing function of the car door does not have the function of preventing pinching. Several of my friends have already had their fingers pinched by the car door. I tried to communicate with them, but they did not check. You just have to be careful yourself, this has taken its toll on the body multiple times and without any warning lights. All of the above situations have no warning lights, have not been inspected, their manufacturers shirk responsibility, we have email communication details, they let me sue through lawyers, and they will respond accordingly, which makes me unable to understand. They ignore customers' life safety.

AIR BAGS
1 complaint
The contact owned a 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30-35 MPH, another vehicle that was driving at high speeds in the opposite direction had lost control and crashed into her driver's side front and rear doors. The other vehicle then crashed into another vehicle. It resulted in a three-vehicle collision. The air bags deployed and the contact suffered a chemical burn on her left arm from the side air bag deployment. There was smoke that filled the cabin of the vehicle. The contact was unable to unlock the doors while the master door lock button was pushed. EMS and the fire department arrived on the scene and were able to rescue the contact after opening the passenger's side front door. A police report was filed. The contact was transported by ambulance to the hospital and sustained second-degree burns to her left arm and bruising on the right hip and the left shoulder. However, there were no bones fractured. She later suffered from nausea, pain from head to toe, and delayed memory. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

I HAVE HAD OVER 8 INSTANCES WITH EITHER THE LOWER SCREEN, UPPER SCREEN OR BOTH SCREENS COMPLETELY BLACKING OUT AND BEING INOPERABLE. LANDROVER HAS HAD 4 ATTEMPTS TO FIX IT UNSUCCESSFULLY WITH LANDROVER CORPORATE INVOLVED. IN ADDITION, THE SIDE VIEW MIRRORS DIP DOWN IN REVERSE AND DID NOT CORRECTLY RESET THEIR POSITION ONCE IN DRIVE SO I HAD ZERO VISIBILITY IN DRIVE IN EITHER SIDE VIEW MIRRORS. THE SCREEN ISSUES HAS OCCURRED ON CITY STREETS AND ON THE HIGHWAY. THE SIDE VIEW MIRRORS OCCURRED ON CITY STREETS. IN ADDITION I LOSE ALL CONTROL WHEN THE SCREENS BLACK OUT TO CONTROL THE CLIMATE, THERMOSTAT TEMPERATURE, DRIVER MODES, ROCK CRAWL MODE, AND MORE. I SENT LAND ROVER CORP OVER 2 DOZEN PICTURES AND VIDEOS DOCUMENTING EACH TIME IT OCCURRED. THE FIRST ISSUE HAPPENED IN JANUARY 3 WEEKS AFTER BUYING THE CAR AND THEY'VE CONTINUED THROUGHOUT FEBRUARY AND NOW ARE STILL CONTINUING INTO MARCH. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH CORPORATE ASKING FOR A CORPORATE BY BACK UNDER THE LEMON LAW WHICH WAS DENIED. I PAID 97,000 FOR THIS VEHICLE AND THE ONLY THING THEY OFFERED WAS ONE MONTHS FREE FINANCE PAYMENT OF $993. THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE!
