AIR BAGS,LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
1 complaint
The vehicle has multiple safety and operational defects that remain unresolved after four service visits on April 10, May 28, June 19, and August 2, 2024, totaling more than 30 days out of service. Lane Keep Assist malfunctions unpredictably at highway speeds—at times making abrupt steering inputs without warning or failing to intervene during lane departure—creating a safety hazard. The vehicle has excessive wind noise, suggesting door or glass seal issues. The infotainment system intermittently crashes, freezing or disabling functions including the backup camera and Bluetooth phone audio. Dealer diagnostic scans showed 15 ECU modules not communicating and multiple diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) across systems, indicating systemic electronic faults. Despite software updates and repair attempts, the problems persist and continue to impair the vehicle’s safety, reliability, and normal operation.

9/23/2025 After multiple trips to the dealership, the issues with my vehicle continue to persist. Here is the breakdown of my current issues with my vehicle: 1. Brakepad warning light (was informed that it is not covered under warranty even though I only have less than 13K miles) 2. After two attempts to fix the window seal issue, the issue still persists 3. The navigation screen on my driver console doesn’t display when in CarPlay mode 4. The backseat center console doesn’t close properly, so the dealership ordered the part almost two months ago, and it still has not arrived. 10/7/2025 (update) I wanted to inform you that I was quoted $3,347.01 for rear brake pads and rotors for my vehicle, which has less than 13,500 miles. I’m quite shocked because I was told that this isn’t covered under warranty and that I’m responsible for the cost. I’ve owned or leased at least five Range Rover sports in the past, and I’ve never experienced such rapid wear and tear. Additionally, the dealership acknowledged the window sealing issue for the third time and informed me that it’s now resolved after making some “adjustments.” However, I’m still puzzled because they didn’t order any replacement parts, and this is the third time I’ve taken my car in for the same issue.

ENGINE
1 complaint
On 27 July 2025, my 2024 Range Rover Sport, suffered a sudden and catastrophic engine fire while driving shortly after an overheating warning appeared. This occurred approximately two weeks after routine maintenance at a Land Rover dealership. My VIN is not listed in the current recall range, but the defect, symptoms, and safety hazard are identical to vehicles included. This strongly suggests either: 1. Incomplete VIN capture in the recall scope, or 2. A related but unaddressed defect with the same catastrophic consequences. The fire completely disabled the vehicle, placed my safety at extreme risk, and caused total loss. Given the life-threatening nature of this defect, I request NHTSA investigate to: * Expand Recall N908 to include my VIN and any similarly affected units, and * Require Land Rover to remedy and compensate impacted owners.

VISIBILITY/WIPER
1 complaint
THIS VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED WITH A FLAWED WINDSHIELD WIPER CONTROL. THE CAR CANNOT BE DRIVEN WHEN THERE IS SALT ON THE ROAD BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER SNOW AND ICY WET CONDITIONS. THE FLUID LEAVES THE DRIVER SIDE WIPER AT THE END OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE PASSENGER WIPER LEAVES THE FLUID IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD. ON THE RETURN STROKE OF THE WIPER IT PUSHES DOWN THE FLUID LEAVING THE WINDSHIELD STREAKED, WITH NO VISIBILITY TO DRIVE. I ASKED THE DEALERS TO FIX IT AND THEY ARE TELLING ME ITS A DESIGN ISSUE. THE ONLY TIME I CAN USE THE WIPERS, IS WHEN IT RAINS. VISIBILITY IS NO GOOD, IF THE WINDSHIELD IS DIRTY AND YOU TRY TO CLEAN IT USING THE FLUID AND WIPING SYSTEM.

THE DRIVERS DOOR MOVES WITHIN THE OPENING OVER BUMPS AND UNEVEN SURFACES. THE WIND NOISE IS PREVELANT ON WINDY DAYS AND DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. ON 4 OCCASIONS, I HAVE BROUGHT IT FOR SERVICE TO CORRECT THE ISSUES, WITH NO SUCCESS. THIS IS A BRAND-NEW CAR AND I AM CONCERNED THAT THE DOOR WILL RELEASE WHILE I AM DRIVING AND HURT SOMEONE OR POSSIBLY EVEN ME.

Here's an improved version: --- While driving on M59, the main screen turned off unexpectedly. I exited the main road and pulled into a strip mall outside a Costco. The vehicle then completely stopped and shut down. The hazard lights were not functioning, and I couldn't restart the vehicle. After waiting for 5 minutes outside the car, I got back in and called the local dealer, Land Rover of Troy, Michigan. While on the phone, the car suddenly turned back on as they were answering. This incident happened yesterday, and I want to ensure there's a record of it because it was extremely dangerous. ---
