The contact owns a 2015 Ram 2500. The contact stated that the vehicle was initially repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V021000 (Steering) at a local dealer; however, after the recall repair was performed, the vehicle was unable to receive a front alignment. The contact requested that the welds be removed to perform the alignment; however, several dealers and independent mechanics refused to remove the welds. The dealer had spoken with the manufacturer, but neither had offered any assistance. The Mopar manufacturer was also notified of the failure, and the contact was given a case number. The vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 106,000. The VIN was not available.

Over the past 2 years we have had issues with the front end particularly the drag link coming loose and major steering problems and major bouncing which resulted in purchasing 2 new sets of tires within 2 years. It was brought to our attention that there was a recall for the exact same issue from NHTSA Recall# V06 19V-021. Unfortunately our VIN number was not listed on the recall although our truck was having the same issue that was listed in the recall. I have contacted NHTSA and filed a safety complaint (Complaint# 11570103). Over the 2 years, we have had the drag link repaired twice which has cost us approximately $4700 in repair costs and tire replacement which could have been covered had our truck was listed under the recall. I have requested NHTSA to investigate and list our truck under the recall and is requesting refunds to the repairs I have already paid for. This request has been declined and that is not acceptable. Please add my vehicle under the recall so I can request a reimbursement. I want somebody to call me directly at [XXX] today. Our vehicle was not part of the safety recall V06/NHTSA 19V-21 recall based on VIN but have been experiencing same issues in the recall: Drag link separation can result in a loss of directional steering control. We have had several close calls of truck losing control. Vehicle currently in authorized dealership with the following diagnosis: Upon inspection, technician found the track bar to continuously back off, no known fix for this issue. Requesting our truck VIN [XXX] to be claimed under this recall. It is possible that other trucks that were manufactured from the same plant as ours could have been built with these defective parts. At highway speed vehicle did not have issues until steering into a hard turn. Steering became very heavy and lost power steering intermittently. Same issue occurred at low speed during turns

My reimbursement for a recall I paid out of pocket was approved and a check was supposed to be sent to me, but has never been sent. I have called Mopar several times and they tell me they are sending the check to me but never do.

POWER TRAIN

Transmission stopped working temporarily after towing a trailer up a long hill, engine simply revved when i tried to accelerate at the very top just prior to descending the other side, after stopping for 3-4 minutes the transmission began to work again. Truck is available for inspection and has not been inspected by anyone The truck is equipped with both engine and exhaust braking and had the failure occurred going downhill with a trailer in tow then it would have created a safety issue. No warning lights or messages appeared prior to or after the incident to indicate there was any issues.

The contact owns a 2015 Ram 2500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle suddenly lost significant motive power, after which the contact became aware that the vehicle had downshifted independently, prompting him to pull to the shoulder of the roadway. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the transmission solenoid pack. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Notification: U30. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 122,000.

Vehicle was placed in park on a slight incline and engine turned off. Vehicle began to roll backwards as I exited. The truck indicated that it was in park, but no parking brake engaged. If I had exited completely and left the vehicle, it could have rolled and caused serious injury. The truck was taken to the dealership and diagnosed with a loose/ missing retainer clip on the parking pawl.

Transmission bearing failure, resulting in total transmission loss. Bearing broke without warning while driving and sent metal pieces through the entire transmission. The transmission is currently being rebuild and the mechanic identified that the bearing was installed upside down during manufacturing and is what caused the transmission fail. The mechanic also found that another transmission rebuild shop had several transmissions of the same model with the same failure issue I experienced.

Mopar has discontinued parts for many Ram vehicles with a 6.4L Hemi motor including the exhaust manifolds. My exhaust manifold is currently cracked and has an audible leak. Exhaust enters the cab of the vehicle when starting, idling, or reversing. They have no indication of providing a fix for this and the parts are not available aftermarket either. This broken piece not only affects the performance and safety but renders my truck unusable per DOT guidelines and would be red flagged during a roadside DOT check. In my area I know of three other trucks with the same issue. I have tried to reach out to the manufacturer with no response and all the dealers I have tried to reach do not have a solution. This problem can affect trucks as new as 2019 and old as 2011.

This vehicle has a manufacturers #X99 extended warranty. It is for the Turbo Actuator. It extends to 15 years or 150,000 miles. I had a failure of my Turbo Actuator. The vehicle went into limp mode approx 2,000 miles from my home.The malfunction indicator lamp went on and I had to get the control solenoid fixed in order to continue to use the vehicle. We were told that this was related to the Turbo Actuator and to get it fixed when we got back home. I had to have more work done on it once home to finish the Turbo work done.I have approached Ram through mail and email to get reimbursed for the costs. I am continuously getting denied from the manufacturer. When I get emails from Stellantis the people only have one name and no direct contact number so I can speak with them. I have continuously asked to speak to a supervisor and no on will get back to me. I have submitted all my costs to have this fixed as well as the extended warranty X99. I have provided all the information they ask for per the extended warranty. I cannot speak to anyone about why they say my vehicles is not covered. According to the extended warranty X99 it is covered as my vehicle has approx. 93,000 miles at this time.

Turbo Actuator for Ram 2500 has been recalled in 2022, but for some reason, my Ram 2500 from 2015 was left out of the recall. The MIL indication and subsequent codes related to this failure are the same as being reported in the Warranty Bulletin previously addressed by FCA, X99 6.7 Cummins Turbocharger Actuator Warranty Extension. I was put at risk of an accident due to this happening on expressway. I experienced a loss of power when I certainly needed it to pull over to get to the shoulder. I believe my vehicle and others that were built with these subpar actuators should have been included in this warranty extension. Please advise if further information is needed. The ideal resolution is to be included in the warranty extension of the actuator and have the appropriate part replacement for this issue. LOUD TICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. DEALER SAYS BROKEN EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS ARE CAUSING THE PROBLEM. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER TODAY AND THEY SAID NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED TO CORRECT AND REPAIR THE FAULTY PROBLEM. DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY, AS I AM A 3-TIME MASTER ASE TECH AND KNOW THAT EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS JUST DON'T BREAK, AND AFTER ONLINE RESEARCH I SEE THERE IS A DEFINITE MAJOR PROBLEM OVER THE YEARS WITH THESE.

OUR 2015 RAM POWER WAGON LESS THAN 40,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER WENT INTO LIMP MODE(SERVICE ADVISER TOLD US THAT'S WHAT IS CALLED) WHILE WE WERE DRIVING ON I-65. WE TOOK THE CAR TO FREEMAN DODGE IN NASHVILLE, TN AND THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM, APPARENTLY TRUCK DIDN'T GIVE A CODE AND THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE. HOWEVER, WHEN WE ARE PICKING OUR TRUCK BACK FROM THE DEALER THEY TOLD US THAT TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK TUBE IS BROKEN, WE ASKED THEM HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE AND ALL THEY COULD TELL US WAS WE DON'T KNOW AND THE COST OF FIXING IT IS OVER $500(WE DID NOT GET IT FIXED), THE SERVICE ADVISER TOLD US THAT SHE HAS SEEN THIS PROBLEM IN THE PAST AS WELL, I ASKED HER IF SHE HAS SEEN ANY OTHER SCRATCHES OR DENTS AROUND THE BROKEN TUBE SHE TOLD US THAT THERE IS NO ANY OTHER DAMAGE BUT THE DIPSTICK TUBE. I TOLD HER THAT THE TRUCK IS ALMOST 2 FEET OFF THE GROUND AND WE NEVER TOOK THE TRUCK OFF ROADING EVER BEFORE HOW IS IT POSSIBLE AN OBJECT CAME UNDERNEATH THE TRUCK HIT PRECISELY THE TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK TUBE BROKE THE DIPSTICK TUBE BUT DIDN'T DAMAGE OR MADE SCRATCHES NOTHING AROUND? HER ANSWER WAS I DON'T KNOW. The contact owns a 2015 Ram 2500. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, driving, or attempting to depress the brake pedal, the integrated trailer brake control failed to respond as intended while the trailer was hitched to the vehicle. The contact stated that an independent mechanic was contacted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the integrated trailer brake control was not receiving adequate power, due to a faulty brake control not functioning as intended. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 207,000.

The blower motor for my air conditioner and heater is not working properly. The service company told me this is an ongoing issue with this model truck and I should file a complaint due to the number of incidents They are having with this vehicle with this problem. The service technician stated the computer box was full of corrosion from not being sealed properly from the factory. The service technician also stated that if the corrosion continues and the issue is not corrected, it could affect the entire ECM of my truck and my truck will not start.

THE NAVIGATION DOES NOT TRACK MY VEHICLE PROPERLY. THE KEY FOBS FAIL OVER 50% OF THE TIME. THE UCONNECT APPLICATION ON MY PHONE FAILS TO WORK OVER 50% OF THE TIME AND TRUCK WILL NOT START, LOCK OR UNLOCK. THE TRUCK SAYS THE KEY FOB LEFT THE VEHICLE WHEN IT IS STILL IN THE VEHICLE CAUSING A SAFETY CONCERN WHEN DRIVING. EVEN WITH NEW BATTERIES IN THE FOBS. THE UPDATES HAVE FAILED DIFFERENT TIMES DUE TO SOMETHING CALLED THE SIERRA BOLO WIRELESS CARD. THE MORE AND MORE I HAVE EXPLORED WHAT COULD BE THE ISSUE, THE MORE CASES LIKE THIS I SEE AND WONDERING WHY THERE IS NO RECALL ON IT. THIS STARTED TAKING PLACE AS SOON AS I PURCHASED IT IN THE FALL OF 2017.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

ABS speed sensor on. Replaced and it remains on. It causes my cruise control, traction control and most importantly 4WD to stop working. This happened right in the middle of a week where we had lots of snow and ice and freezing temperatures. I got lucky and discovered that the ABS light causes the four-wheel-drive to not work before I manage to take a bad road that I had been planning to take. Meanwhile because of work I haven't had time to fix it till recently so all this time I have not had four-wheel-drive very bad weather. A very stupid fail safe feature, disabling 4WD over a speed sensor.

The contact owns a 2015 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to respond and the cruise control mode remained engaged. The contact stated that the vehicle accelerated and would not stop. The contact manually pressed the cruise control button to disengage it but it failed to respond and the vehicle continued to accelerate. The contact stated that as the vehicle was about to crash into another vehicle, he drove the vehicle off the road and into a ditch. The contact sustained nose hemorrhage and bruised ribs. The Contact’s wife who was sitting in the front passenger seat sustained bruises on her face and around her eye. The contact’s 17-month-year-old baby who was sitting in the rear passenger seat sustained a black eye and bruised chest. The contact and his family did not seek medical assistance. A police report was not filed. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to his residence without cruise control. The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle in for diagnosis at his own expense. The dealer also advised the contact that the failure was a manufacturer defect. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and he advised the contact that they could not assist as the vehicle was out of warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000. Consumer added the recall from the FCA says IF! THE vehicle is having the symptoms then perform the software update. Consumer's attorney is dealing with FCA on this issue.

VEHICLE LOOSES 6 MPH BEFORE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS DOWN TO PICKUP SPEED, I AM UNABLE TO USE ANYWHERE THERE IS ANY TYPE OF INCLINE. IN ORDER TO USE CRUISE CONTROL NEED TO DRIVE IN TRUCK LANE TO AVOID BEING REAR ENDED. DEALER CLAIMS THAT IT IS NORMAL BECAUSE THEY CAN'T CHANGE ANY SETTINGS. YOU WANT DATE THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL DOESN'T WORK THAT WOULD BE EVERY DAY I DRIVE MY TRUCK.

SPEED CONTROL WILL NOT ALWAYS WORK. WHEN IT DOES IT WILL SOMETIMES SPEED UP OR DISENGAGE ON IT'S ON. I HAD IT AT THE DEALER SHIP FOR RECALLS AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE ISSUE , I WAS HAVING THEY SAID THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG AND NO RECALLS AT THIS TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RON BOUCHARD CHRYSLER DODGE RAM (978-345-1800, LOCATED AT 288 LUNENBURG ST, FITCHBURG, MA 01420) AND REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT DID NOT REMEMBER WHAT WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT SOMEONE WOULD CALL THE CONTACT BACK. THE CONTACT WAS NOT CALLED BACK. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. Both front brake lines ruptured. The left front ruptured while operating at highway speeds. The right ruptured immediately after replacing the left. Both ruptures where in the braided hose, on the same end within .75 and 2 inches from the connector.

I was driving and had the truck on cruise control and suddenly the cruise control disengaged and I got a message on the cluster that said Service Electronic Braking System. Now I get the message every time i turn on the truck. I read on line that this is an issue going on and just wanted to pass it along.

My 2015 Ram 1500 Big Horn Has Intermittent ABS and traction control lights, no cruise or 4x4 The SEBS and ABS lights, and alarm will start flashing and dinging. then goes out, but come back on when on wet road. Truck slides around with loss of traction.

PARKING BRAKE BECAME LOOSE AND STOPPED HOLDING THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO 86,000 MILES. ADJUSTMENT WAS MADE TO THE PARKING BRAKE BUT IT FAILED TO HOLD THE VEHICLE AFTER ADJUSTMENT WHEN THE PARKING BRAKE WAS TESTED. PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED ON 2/10/2020 AS DELIMITATION OF LINING MATERIAL FROM THE PARKING BRAKE SHOES. ONLINE SEARCHES INDICATE OTHER OWNERS REPORTING THE SAME ISSUES.

Integrated trailer brake module produced by Continental Part Number 68237782AB does not function correctly. No voltage when gain set to 10 and manually activated. Issue frequently mentioned on RAM Forum pages. Dodge acknowledges that "may" have been an issue with a change in vendors. No warranty coverage.

My 2015 truck has 89,000 miles. The emission system DPF was replaced under EPA settlement with RAM at about 20,000miles. The DEF system failed at 89k. When it failed the truck started bellowing toxic ammonia from the exhaust. When the system failed, a check engine light came on and the truck indicated I had 150 miles before 5 MPH line mode. The amonia Fumes where overwhelming. You could see the cloud coming out of the exhaust. The dealer confirmed the DEF pump failed. However the pump is still working and pumped half a tank of DEF into my exhaust system in less than 30 miles. Independant shop suspects additional damage to NOX sensor and other parts as a result of the pump failure. Ram admits the pump is a high fail item but not covered past original 80k emissions warrenty. The pump is 1,400 dealer list. I have never heard of a vehicle having less than 100,000 10 year emissions warrenty. My VW TDI passat has over 150k full emissions warrenty from the EPA settlement. I don't understand how RAM is not liable for low milage emission failured below 100k miles. The pumps fail alot! Apparently they have been or are trying to redesign them. This is one leading reason why owners delete unreliable emission designs. I would like my emissions failure covered by RAM and the software logic updated on all RAMs to shut down DEF pumps when they fail so they do not produce heavy toxic ammonia clouds.

I'VE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS FROM MY GEAR SHIFT,IT'S BEEN GETTING STUCK IN PARK AND NOW HAS COMPLETELY BROKE FROM THE WHOLE STEERING COLUMN.

CAB BRAKE LIGHT WENT BAD AFTER 5 YEARS AND THE INTERIOR OF TRUCK WAS FLOODED WITH RAIN WATER. WATER WAS RUNNING OUT OF HEADLINER INTO THE DASHBOARD, RADIO AND ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE AND SPEAKING TO THE DEALERSHIP, THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR RAM VEHICLES. I NOW HAVE MOLD SET UP IN MY VEHICLE BUT CONSIDER MYSELF LUCKY THAT A FIRE DIDN'T OCCUR.

The contact became aware that the sidewalls on all four tires were cracked. The vehicle was taken to a tire center, and the contact was informed that the tires needed to be replaced. The tires were not replaced. The manufacturer was not contacted. The tire mileage was 36,000. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 126,000

lt245/70r17 we had the other front tire separate a few weeks ago. the employee was driving a few miles an hour on property when she felt and heard a thumping. immediately parked it. this is the 3rd tire in the last couple of months, all of them cooper discover LT tires without significant mileage that have had blets/tread split/separate. I foudn that there was a 500000 tire recall of this line last year. i think the problem is bigger.

one of my guys was driving a company vehicle when he felt wobble. upon returning to our property he showed me that the front passenger tire had major tread separation. no accidents, etc were involved. we had a tread separation on another truck 2 weeks ago so this brought up a red flag and i looked up the tires and found recalls of similar lines last year. So i want to log this in case other people are also having this issue. we have cooper discoverer at3 on a few trucks. Lt 245/70r17

RIGHT REAR TIRE ON RAM 2500 MEGACAB BLEW WHILE TOWING A WILDCAT 312BHX 5TH WHEEL ON 7/25/2020 AT 1:45 PM ON I 26 W IN SC AT EXIT 159. TRAVELING AT 65 MPH, TIRE WAS INFLATED TO 78 PSI AND NO ALARM RECEIVED FROM TPMS SYSTEM PRIOR TO TIRE BLOW OUT, FELT A WEIRD VIBRATION IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THE EXIT AND WAS ATTEMPTING TO EXIT TO CHECK THE VEHICLE AT THE PILOT STATION. THE BLOW OUT CAUSED $3858.59 WORTH OF DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK, NOT INCLUDING THE COST OF NEW TIRES. NO ADDITIONAL ACCIDENT HAPPENED BECAUSE WE WERE ABLE TO PULL SAFELY OFF THE INTERSTATE ONTO THE SHOULDER AND REMOVE ANY LARGE DEBRIS PIECES FROM THE INTERSTATE.

side impact collision and the side airbags did not deploy. i had a broken hand from the impact of hitting the door/window due to the force of the impact. The other drive ran a stop sign and hit me at approximately 45-50 MPH. Uploaded pictures show the damage to my truck, with the majority of the damage being the suspension/axle components. The point of impact on my vehicle was the driver's side front wheel.

THE CONTACT HAD TWO FRACTURED RIBS, HIS LEFT ELBOW WAS INJURED AND HIS LOWER BACK. THE OTHER DRIVER HAD TO BE CUT OUT OF THE VEHICLE SO BOTH WERE TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL. THE NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND SPLITTING THE SURFACE OF THE STEERING WHEEL. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME AND WILL BE PICKED UP TODAY BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE VEHICLE WAS DECLARED TOTALED WITH DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END THAT WAS CRUSHED IN. THIS IS NOT TURBO LAG (WHICH MAY LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF POWER UNTIL THE TURBO SPOOLS UP). THIS IS NOT A STUMBLE. THIS IS AN ACTUAL DELAY IN THE COMPUTER APPLYING FUEL TO THE ENGINE. IT IS TOTAL DEAD TIME AS IF THE ACCELERATOR WAS NOT PRESSED AT ALL. IT HAPPENS UNDER THE WORST OF CONDITIONS, WHEN YOU NEED HARD ACCELERATION AND NEED IT NOW. IT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE QUICKLY, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU WERE COASTING OR HAD JUST LET OFF OF THE PEDAL. THESE ARE CONDITIONS THAT OFTEN OCCUR IN TRAFFIC WITH MANY OTHER VEHICLES NEARBY. THE LONG DELAY BETWEEN THROTTLE APPLICATION AND ENGINE RESPONSE IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. MY TRUCK HAS THE LATEST "FLASH" FROM THE DEALER, IT IS RUNNING THE MOST UP-TO-DATE FIRMWARE AVAILABLE FROM THE DEALER. DEALER STATED THAT THEY KNOW ABOUT THE ISSUE BUT HAVE NO PLANS TO FIX THE ISSUE.

I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES SINCE NEW BECAUSE OCCASIONALLY WHEN I DRIVE OVER RAILROAD TRACKS OR SMALL BUMPS OR ROAD REPAIR BUMPS IN THE CITY AT APPROX. 35 MPH I HEAR AND FEEL A LOUD BANG ON THE FLOORBOARD BENEATH MY LEFT FOOT. THE DEALER REPEATEDLY LOOKED AT MY TRUCK ONLY IN THE SERVICE DRIVE AND SAID THEY SEE NO PROBLEM AND REFUSED TO WRITE IT UP. THE 3RD VISIT THEY WANTED ME TO DRIVE IT FAST OVER THE SPEED BUMPS IN THERE OVERFLOW SALES LOT TO TRY AND DUPLICATE THE SOUND. WHILE TRAVELING ON I-664 NORTH AND EXITING ONTO I-64 EAST IN HAMPTON, VA, MY RAM 2500 BEGAN A VIOLENT BOUNCE OR "WOBBLE" WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH (NORMAL SPEED OF TRAFFIC). I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR WHILE TRYING TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND BEGAN TO BRAKE GENTLY (I DIDN'T KNOW THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM) AS I DRIFTED INTO THE RIGHT LANE (2-LANE RAMP). I CONTINUED TO SLOW AS I CONTINUED TO MOVE ONTO THE RIGHT SHOULDER AND WHEN I REACH ABOUT 30 MPH THE BOUNCING/VIBRATION STOPPED. I CONTINUED TO THE NEXT EXIT, PULLED OFF AND GOT OUT TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. I COULD SEE NO PROBLEMS WITH THE TIRES OR SUSPENSION (SPRINGS FRONT AND REAR). I THEN DROVE 40 MILES TO MY HOME WITH NO OTHER PROBLEMS. I HAVE HAD SIMILAR MINOR EXPERIENCES DURING THE PAST YEAR THAT ONLY LASTED FOR A SECOND AND WHICH I ATTRIBUTED TO THE STIFF SUSPENSION. MY INTERNET RESEARCH OF THIS EVENT REVEALED THIS HAS BEEN AN HABITUAL PROBLEM WITH JEEPS AND RAMS BUT WAS SUPPOSEDLY "FIXED" IN 2013. I WILL TESTIFY THAT THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN FIXED AND RESULTED IN ME ALMOST LOSING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE ON A CURVED TWO-LANE RAMP. IT SHOULD BE NOTED I HAVE TRAVELED THIS ROUTE EVERYDAY FOR 14 YEARS WITH NO SIMILAR EXPERIENCE. I HAD MY LOCAL DEALER "INSPECT" THE VEHICLE FOR A POSSIBLE CAUSE BUT ALL THEY DID WAS DRIVE IT DOWN THE ROAD AND BACK AND REPORTED THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM. OF COURSE THEY WERE NOT ON A CONCRETE ROADWAY DRIVING 60 MPH AROUND A CURVE.

The power steering pump bolts sheared off their mounts, causing a catastrophic and instant loss of my ability to steer and/or brake without great difficulty. While we were in a parking lot at the time, we had just crossed over a mountain pass, while hauling a 7200 lb travel trailer. Had it detached on a downhill, winding highway, this VERY easily would have been a fatal flaw.

NHTSA ID# 10136541 AND TSB #68093354A$ REFER TO THIS ISSUE. 2015-2017 RAM TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH POWER LOCKING TAILGATES ARE EXPERIENCEING THE TAILGATE OPENING UNEXPECTANTLY WHILE DRIVING. FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOBILES (FCA) RECENTLY ISSUED RECALL U-74 WHICH IDENTIFIES TRUCKS WITH 5-FOOT 7-INCH AND 6-FOOT 4-INCH BEDS AS BEING AFFECTED BUT NOT TRUCKS WITH 8-FOOT BEDS. MY TRUCK IS EQUIPPED WITH AN 8-FOOT BED AND I ASSURE YOU IT IS IN FACT AFFECTED BY THIS ISSUE. SINCE PURCHASING MY 2015 RAM IN MARCH 2018 THIS HAS OCCURRED 3 TIMES. THE FIRST OCCURANCE WAS WHILE DRIVING ON A PAVED, SMOOTH ROAD SURFACE, IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, TRAVLING AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH AFTER HAVING BEEN ON THE ROAD FOR OVER 1 HOUR AND TRAVELING AT SPEEDS OF 70 MPH. THE SECOND OCCURANCE WAS WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN AT SPEEDS UP TO 35 MPH ON PAVED, SMOOTH ROAD SURFACES IN MODERATE TRAFFIC. THE THIRD OCCURANCE WAS ON THE HIGHWAY, TRAVELING AT SPEEDS UP TO 65 MPH. I BELIEVE THAT FCA HAS MADE AN ERROR IN NOT INCLUDING ALL 2015-2017 RAM TRUCKS WITH POWER LOCKING TAILGATE LATCHES AND INSTEAD EXCLUDING LONG BED MODELS. IT IS JUST AS MUCH A SIGINIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD AS ON SHORT BED MODELS AND WARRANTS EVALUATION AND INCLUSION IN THE CURRENT RECALL FOR REPAIRS/REPLACEMENT. THE TOW HOOKS ON THE FRONT OF MY RAM 2500 TRUCK WERE USED TO PULL THE TRUCK ONTO A TOW TRUCK BED THAT WAS LOWERED TO THE GROUND. BOTH HOOKS WERE USED, AS DIRECTED BY THE OWNER'S MANUAL. THE TRUCK'S TRANSMISSION WAS PUT IN NEUTRAL. THE TRUCK WAS GENTLY WINCHED ONTO THE TOW TRUCK. AS IT WAS BEING PULLED, THE ENTIRE BUMPER ASSEMBLY WAS BEING YANKED OUT FROM THE FRAME OF THE TRUCK, CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE FRONT FENDERS. THE TOW DRIVER STOPPED AND THE TRUCK (WITH A FLAT TIRE) HAD TO BE DRIVEN THE REST OF THE WAY UP TO PREVENT FURTHER DAMAGE DUE TO THE BUMPER/TOW HOOK FAILURE. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM, AS NOTED ON SEVERAL FORUM PAGES OF RAM TRUCK OWNERS: "CUMMINSFORUM.COM" AS WELL AS ON YOUTUBE. CHRYSLER WILL NOT COVER THIS UNDER WARRANTY SAYING IT'S NOT A FAILURE OF THE TRUCK. THEIR "CUSTOMER CARE" CLAIMS THEY'VE NEVER HEARD OF THE PROBLEM BEFORE. IT IS A PUBLICIZED PROBLEM FOR RAM 2500/3500 TRUCKS FOR MODEL YEARS 2010 THROUGH CURRENT. THE KNOWN FACTS ARE THE BUMPER AND THE TOW HOOKS ARE ATTACHED TO THE FRAME USING THE SAME MOUNTING BRACKET WHICH HAS OBLONG-SHAPED HOLES TO ALLOW ADJUSTMENT TO CORRECTLY ALIGN THE BUMPER. THE BOLTS ARE NOT TORQUED ENOUGH FROM THE FACTORY TO ALLOW FOR ANY TENSION TO BE APPLIED TO THE TOW HOOKS, OTHERWISE FRONT-END DAMAGE WILL OCCUR TO FRONT PAINTED BODY PIECES. CHRYSLER CORPORATION LLC STILL CONTINUES TO MAINTAIN THEIR COVERUP THAT IT IS THE USERS FAULT, NOT A FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE. I ALREADY PAID MONEY UNDER THE COUNTER TO A GUY TO RESTRAIGHTEN THE BUMPER, BUT THE PAINT/FENDER DAMAGE IS STILL THERE. Where the traction bar mount is welded to the frame sheered off the frame while driving on the freeway causing me to lose steering control. Was not in an accident but I found that recall Safety Recall R46 / NHTSA 15V-541 for the two previous years was an issue. I have photos of the damaged traction control mount and will show where the separation was the same as the recall on 2013 and 2014 Rams.

When the engine brake is turned on the engine brake can remain on during this malfunction and the vehicle loses power. If the fault code above occurs at highway speed and the engine brake was activated the engine brake can remain on even if the accelerator is pressed and the engine brake is manually turned off. This situation required me to quickly move to the shoulder and shut the engine off to reset the fault code. This has happened to me several times. My vehicle only has 34k miles but the warranty has expired. The turbo actuator tests ok until the engine is at operating temperature. The actuator electronic control malfunctions at normal engine operating temperature. The dealer wants to replace the entire turbo. There seems to be many aftermarket companies that make replacement actuators so I believe this is a common problem with Cummins turbo Diesel engines from 2012 to 2019 models.

While driving down highway 65 mph, abs system activated causing right rear brakes to activate causing vehicle to activate steering control making truck head towards on coming traffic before able to control vehicle to shoulder of roadway. Would like to know if, when, and who and where any previous recall work has been performed to this vehicle, bought at a dealership in Oklahoma with check engine light on, told it was gas cap. Turns out it was not a gas cap, there was programming involved to remove the MIL function of brake system. ECM was sent to a 3rd party vendor and unlocked, afterwards the previous program was unlocked showing disabling of MIL functions for several functions. Vehicle is having issues with electrical radiator fan causing excessive heat in compartment, what was the fix for this by MFG? Was it to just program out the electric fan from coming on at high speed ? Now engine within 20 minutes of idling overheats truck( road construction/wrecks)

MANUFACTURER VIOLATION OF FEDERAL TREAD ACT REIMBURSEMENT REQUIREMENTS Vehicle experienced ABS hydraulic control unit failure in September 2022 with warning lights and transmission shifting problems. Repairs cost $5651 addressing brake system hydraulic control unit defects. In November 2024, manufacturer issued Recall C7B/NHTSA 24E-100 for identical hydraulic control unit ABS defects affecting 2012-2018 Ram vehicles. Federal regulation 49 CFR 573.13 requires manufacturers reimburse pre-notification repairs reasonably necessary to correct recalled defects. Manufacturer FCA US LLC improperly denied reimbursement under case 92237530, claiming parts not covered under recall repair. This violates federal TREAD Act mandatory reimbursement requirements. Manufacturer referenced wrong recall campaigns in denial letters, demonstrating failure to properly evaluate claim under applicable federal regulations. Request NHTSA enforcement action to compel manufacturer compliance with federal reimbursement obligations. Manufacturer operates established reimbursement system but improperly applies federal requirements. Safety defect was present in 2022 and subsequently recalled, establishing federal obligation for pre-recall repair reimbursement. Wilson v FCA class action settlement demonstrates manufacturer previously paid identical hydraulic control unit replacement costs for same defect type.

After parking right after a paid car wash, the truck wouldn’t start and had no power to any component. Couldn’t get vehicle out of park. Batteries fully charged and no issue with terminals. There would be random moments when power came back but when starter was pressed, a clicking sound would occur and all power shut down again. Truck had to be towed to dealership where they were unable to duplicate or determine what caused the problem. Our concern is not being able to move the vehicle out of danger when this occurs or the danger of it occurring while in motion, which we experienced years ago with a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The high pressure fuel pump is disintegrating. It has been recalled in newer dodge rams But has not been recalled 4 2015 even though it is very similar and made of the same material. This has been confirmed with the dodge dealership as this is where it sits, so it is available upon request. We had a check engine light come on prior to the incident but was never Indicated when checked at the shop that this was the problem. As far as safety goes you never know when it is going to act up. It usually doesn't have power from the get go or loses power while driving, Putting people's safety at risk as it will slow down to almost stopping or not go at all. It also continually blows black smoke. It has been inspected by the dealership. It has been inspected by an insurance adjuster all confirmed the hype. High pressure fuel pump is the problem and there is shrapnel throughout the entire fuel system.

On 3/29/23 while driving approximately 80 miles back home, the vehicle began leaking engine oil and coolant upon acceleration. The vehicle was returned to the shop for repair but the repair failed. On 4/8/23, again the vehicle began to spew oil and coolant upon acceleration. No warning lights came on. The reservoir for coolant is drained of coolant. There is an odor of oil and antifreeze in the cabin which is harmful and poisonous. Also, the engine may fail along with other components on the vehicle without warning as no there is no indicator light warning of the problem.the vehicle was purchased on 3/29_23 from a used car dealership, whom allegedly claims to have inspected the vehicle thoroughly

I RECENTLY EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM WITH THE ABS/TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM ON MY 2015 DODGE RAM 2500 PICKUP. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 40,000 MILES. FIRST NOTICED THE PROBLEM AS I WAS GOING UP HILL ON AN EXIT RAMP OFF THE HIGHWAY. THE ABS/TRACTION CONTROL STARTED COMING ON OCCASIONALLY AT FIRST FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I HAD MY MECHANIC PUT THE TRUCK ON HIS SCANNER TO SEE IF A CODE POPPED UP. NOTHING SHOWED UP AS BEING WRONG. REPLACED THE BACK TIRES ON THE TRUCK AND THAT DIDN'T HELP. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULDN'T GET A CODE TO SHOW UP EITHER. CHRYSLER HAD A SERVICE BULLETIN AND THE DEALER RE-PROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER ON THE TRUCK. THAT DIDN'T HELP. THEY FINALLY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS THE OUTER TIE ROD BEING WORN OUT CAUSING THE ANGLE SENSOR AND ABS TO ENGAGE. I ENDED UP PAYING $1,879.19 TO GET IT FIXED. THE DEALER ADMITTED THAT THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL WITH THE DRAG LINK BUT REFUSED TO COVER THE REPAIRS UNDER THE RECALL. I HAVE NEVER HAD A VEHICLE WHERE THE TIE RODS WORE OUT AFTER 40,000 MILES. MY UNDERSTANDING (EVEN THOUGH I AM NOT A MECHANIC) IS THAT THE DRAG LINK/SUSPENSION ON RAM TRUCKS IS NOTORIOUS FOR BEING A PROBLEM. THE TOW TRUCK CAME AND TOOK US TO THE NEAREST DODGE DEALER (CROWN DODGE IN REDDING, CALIFORNIA). THEY IMMEDIATELY NOTED IT WAS LIKELY DUE TO RECALL T51, WHERE THE WATER PUMP OVERHEATS, BREAKS THE BELTS, OVERHEATS THE CAR AND COULD CAUSE AN ENGINE FIRE. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. I TRIED TO GET THIS FIXED WITH MY LOCAL DEALER MONTHS AGO, BUT THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS. I ALSO NEVER RECIEVED ANY CORRESPONDENCE LETTERS ON THE RECALL... MY TRUCK HAS RAW BURNING DIESEL EXHAUST COMING IN THE AIR VENTS ON THE DASH THAT POISONED MY FAMILY FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR BEFORE WE WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. YOU CAN SMELL THE SOLVENT/SPRAY PAINT TYPE SMELL 100 FOOT DIAMETER ON A CALM DAY. PARKED 99% SINCE MAY 5TH BECAUSE 1 DEALERSHIP SAYS ITS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND THE OTHER REFUSES TO DOCUMENT THE PROBLEM. IT IS NOW BEING TOWED TO A THIRD DEALERSHIP. MY SON AND I HAD ELEVATED CARBON MONOXIDE LEVELS IN OUR BLOOD THE DAY THE RAM MECHANIC ADVISED US IT WAS DIESEL EXHAUST.THE SKIN ON MY FACE, ARMS,KNEES WAS BLISTERING AND FALLING OFF FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. I FIRST ASKED DOCTORS IN OCTOBER 2015 AND REMAINED IN THE DEFECTIVE TRUCK UNTIL MAY 2016. MY VISION WAS BLURRY WHEN DRIVING AND MY EYES WERE BURNING. WE THOUGHT IT WAS GLUE SMELL OR NEW CAR SMELL. MY 11 YEAR OLD SON WAS DIZZY, HAD HEADACHES, AND WOULD FALL ASLEEP QUICKLY EVERYDAY. HE COMPLAINED TO HIS SCHOOL AFTER WE SAT IN TRAFFIC EVERY MORNING. WE HAD BREATHING PROBLEMS AND TOXICOLOGIST AT UC DAVIS MEDICAL CENTER CONFIRMED AGGRAVATED SKIN DAMAGE FROM DIESEL EXHAUST. WHEN WE PARKED THE TRUCK ALL HEADACHES, DIZZINESS, SLEEPINESS, SKIN BLISTERS, BURNING EYES, COUGHING ATTACKS, AND CONFUSION WENT AWAY. SKIN IS NOW PERMANENTLY DAMAGED AND NO NEW SKIN SPOTS OR BLISTERING HAVE APPEARED SINCE PARKING THE TRUCK, BUT IT STILL FALLS OFF EVERY DAY. MY EYES ARE PERMANENTLY DAMAGED. THE FUTURE EFFECTS OF DIESEL CHEMICALS ARE UNKNOWN. MY TRUCK IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE MY SON TO SCHOOL 2 MILES BECAUSE WE SIT IN TRAFFIC AND THE CAB FILLS WITH FUMES. BRAND NEW 2015 RAM 2500 LARAMIE LIMITED 4X4 PICKED IT UP AND WITHIN TWO WEEKS WE DROVE TO WI FROM FL. NOTICED SLOP IN THE REAR END MORE THAN ANY OTHER RAM I'VE OWNED. ALSO HAD A VIBRATION BETWEEN 65 AND 78 TOOK IT BACK EXPLAINED I THOUGHT THE DRIVE TRAIN HAD ISSUES. THE DEALER HAD IT FOR ONE DAY AND GAVE IT BACK SAYING "WE BALANCED TIRES AND DIDN'T HEAR ANY CLUNK". I TEST DROVE, ISSUES STILL THERE TOOK IT BACK AND THE DEALER KEPT IT FOR 3 DAYS AND CALLED AND SAID "ALL DONE WE CHANGED/WARRANTED TWO REAR TIRES THEY WERE BAD". "MOVED REAR TIRES TO THE FROM BACK TO FRONT. TIGHTENED THE DEF BRACKET AND TRANS MOUNT CLUNK GONE". I TEST DROVE ISSUES BOTH STILL THERE. I RETURNED IT TO THE DEALER THEY SAID "OH YES WE FEEL IT, WE PUT ON 2 REAR ROTORS AND RIGHT REAR HUB, WE STILL FEEL THE VIBRATION AND THE SLOPPY REAR END." WE CALLED CHRYSLER TO PUT IN A CASE. AFTER ONE WEEK I CALLED AND ASKED WHATS GOING ON. "WE ARE STILL GETTING INFORMATION FROM CHRYSLER". I CALLED WEEK TWO AND WAS TOLD "CHRYSLER IS SENDING OUT AN ENGINEER SHOULD BE HERE MONDAY OR TUESDAY OF THIS WEEK (10/12/2015 OR 10/13/2015) I SAID I WANT TO BE ONSITE WHEN THEY ARRIVE TO PROTECT MY INTEREST IN A $71000.00 VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD TODAY NOW THE "ENGINEER ISN'T COMING BUT HE DROVE A VEHICLE EQUIPPED AS MINE IN N FL AND NO VIBRATION PRESENT". I TOLD HIM I AM CLOSE TO PUTTING IN A CASE FOR LEMON LAW AND WITH THE NHTSA, HE CHUCKLED AND SAID "I WILL BE IN TOUCH WHEN CHRYSLER CALLS ME WITH MORE INSTRUCTION."
