The passenger side automatic sliding door came off track and shattered the rear window. Glass flew all over our daughter in her car seat. The van had recall power sliding door service done, but it still failed. Roller bearings were badly worn.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 TOYOTA SIENNA. THE CONTACT HAD THE SLIDING DOORS REPLACED, BUT THE HINGES ON THE INSIDE OF THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR WERE RUSTED OUT. AS A RESULT, THE DOOR FELL OFF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS DUE TO THE SLIDING DOOR THAT WAS DETACHED FROM THE HINGE. THE CONTACT CALLED SHERMAN TOYOTA 1555 (393 COURT ST, BINGHAMTON, NY 13904, 607-724-1334) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE NEW DOOR HINGE WOULD COST TO REPLACE. THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOUND ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,000.

I WAS NOTIFIED MY VEHICLE HAD A RECALL ON THE POWER DOORS. I MADE AN APPT ON 9/20/17 WITH ALAMO TOYOTA TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT MY VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD THEY WERE ORDERING THE PARTS. I CALLED ALAMO TOYOTA ON 10/10/17 AND WAS TOLD THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER. I CALLED AGAIN ON 1/3/18 AND WAS TOLD BY 2 INDIVIDUALS THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND THAT THE PARTS WERE ORDERED FOR MY VEHICLE. WE ARE TALKING 3.5 MONTHS LATER I'M BEING TOLD THE PARTS FOR THE RECALL WERE NEVER ORDERED. WHAT IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO MY FAMILY, MY CHILDREN WHO SIT IN THE BACK? THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD ORDER THE PARTS AS OF 1/3/18. I'M STILL WAITING TO HEAR WHEN THESE PARTS ARRIVE. IN THE MEAN TIME, I PRAY NOTHING HAPPENS TO MY CHILDREN!

2013 Toyota sienna van sliding doors. Driver sliding door opened on its own while driving down the road. Passenger side door will not open from the inside. This is a danger to my daughter who sits in the backseat if the door opens while I’m driving down the highway. Or she can’t get out because it will not open

Sienna had recall on airbags that were fixed. I have a warning dashboard light that says there is an issue with my airbags and the seat belt light is on. According to the dealer there is an issue with the computer board. They purposed to fix the issue at 800.00 dollars. This is a safety issue due to the expensive cost to fix this. The dealer already had to replace the airbags and now there is something wrong with the computer board and currently I do not have airbags.

SRS Airbag check issue. Last few days, my car has been showing following symptoms 1) Day 1: SRS airbag check warning is flashing on the display. The passenger airbag is always OFF regardless of the passenger being seated or not. 2) Day 2: SRS airbag check warning goes away, but passenger seat airbag is always ON regardless of anyone sitting or not. Also the seat belt chime is sounded for the passenger seat. 3) Day 5: SRS airbag check warning comes back and passenger airbag is OFF. (same as Day 1). The auto mechanic says there is a code about Occupant classification system that is malfunctioning. Dealer wants to charge me a lot of money just to get it inspected and diagnosed. The car has not been in any collision. This seems like totally Toyota's design and part reliability issue. In no condition the driver or passenger safety should be compromised in such manner. Yet Toyota dealership is not standing behind their mfg commitment to safe driving experience.

TAKATA RECALL. RECALL G0P SERVICED BY SERVCO TOYOTA (THIS IS NOT A COMPLAINT AGAINST SERVCO; THEY DID GREAT WORK) 30 AUG 2018 (RECEIPT IN HAND). I AM GETTING READY TO SHIP MY VEHICLE AND THE SHIPPER NEEDS THE SAFERCAR PRINTOUT (SHOWING 0 RECALLS) WHICH STILL REFLECTS AN OPEN RECALL. JUST SPOKE WITH THE TOYOTA SERVICE DESK AND WAS TOLD THAT IT CAN TAKE A YEAR FOR THE DATA TO APPEAR IN THE SYSTEM. IT WILL BE A YEAR IN THREE DAYS (30 AUG 2019). IF THEY JUST STARTED THE UPLOAD PROCESS TODAY, I CANNOT SHIP MY VAN IN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS. HOW CAN I GET THIS UPDATE EXPEDITED? HOW CAN I GET MY VIN CLEARED?

Anyone: In 2013 I bought a new Toyota Sienna from Fiore Toyota in Hollidaysburg, PA. It was advertised with a lifetime engine and powertrain warranty. I thought that I had made a wise purchased. Fast forward to 2022. In early June I noticed a loud humming from the rear differential area and since I had a family vacation planned with my son’s family I decided to take it in for diagnosis to my local dealer, Colonial Toyota of Indiana, PA. They said that it was the electromagnetic control unit but could not get me in for over a week and that it was not advisable to drive long distance. This resulted in my rented a replacement vehicle – an unanticipated expense. When I returned I took the vehicle into Colonial on July 7th and asked if the part would be covered under the lifetime warranty. They said they would check it out. There were several slow responses between the garage and the warranty company. Requests for additional service records, VIN numbers and what not. Meanwhile I am without a vehicle. Colonial had said that the part should be covered under the contract. Also Colonial’s lifetime warranty was a different company than Fiore’s insurer. Who knew? I had assumed that it was all a Toyota thing. Meanwhile after 8 days of no vehicle and another trip to Colorado approaching, (Granddaughter living alone while her husband is deployed in Poland.), I pulled the trigger and said fix the vehicle as I needed it. My thoughts were that it was a Toyota vehicle, serviced by Toyota “certified” techs at a Toyota garage what else would I need? The day after repairs were initiated, the warranty company says that they will need a 3rd party inspection to verify the defect. Just reinstall the broken part so they can hear it and then reinstall the new part or no coverage. Also this was to take place after I should have been half way across the country. Needless to say I didn’t do it. What good is a warranty that doesn’t trust Toyota techs? Out over $2500

Grinding noise began from the rear of the vehicle increasing as acceleration increased. Took to the shop and found at the Rear Differential failed at 75,000 requiring replacement for thousands of dollars. The same year RAV4 has been recalled for this already - the Sienna should have a recall also. The dealership had the part on the shelf, surprise surprise.

I have been notified by my Toyota dealership that the rear viscous coupler on my Sienna has failed and that the RAV4s have been recalled for this same part as a safety issue ( years ago). This part is a known manufacturing defect. Forums are wallpapered with complaints about this for years, I've already lodged a complaint with Toyota but they are doing nothing. Customers should not be on the hook for a $2500 repair that is a known manufacturing defect. The coupler recall should be extended to the Siennas!

THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL IS CAUSING A WHIRLING SOUND. THE SOUND ONLY OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS ON DRIVE. I DON'T HEAR THE SAME HIGH PITCHED WHIRLING SOUND WHEN THE CAR IS IN REVERSE. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS GENERATION OF SIENNA. TOYOTA HAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE ON THE RAV 4 BUT NOT THE SIENNA.

VAN STARTED HAVING A PROPANE/MUSTY SMELL INSIDE CABIN WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. VAN JUST HAD CABIN FILTERS REPLACED AND AUTO SHOP STATED THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL AND COUPLER WERE BLOWN AND TO GET A USED PART AND REPLACE IT WOULD BE $4300. THE VAN IS A 2013 WITH 86,000 MILES ON IT. THE RAV-4 HAS THE EXACT SAME PART UNDER A RECALL. HOW DIFFERENT COULD THE PARTS BE IN THE SAME COMPANY FOR 2 VEHICLES LIKE THIS? IT SEEMS LIKE TOYOTA SHOULD BE ISSUING A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM AS I JUST READ ABOUT 6 OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS ALONE ALL WITH VEHICLES WITH RELATIVELY LOW MILEAGE. THIS IS A DISSERVICE TO LOYAL TOYOTA CUSTOMERS AND A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE TO PEOPLE DRIVING THEIR FAMILIES IN THESE MINI-VANS.

The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 83,535, and after researching the Carfax Report, the contact discovered that the mileage was 332,216.

After a big snow storm I cleaned the car off and warmed it up, then tried to open the passenger side power door from the inside side with the button. The passanger side would not open (driver's side did) so I tried to open it manually from the outside and then the inside. It would not open at all. Then as I was driving, the car started beeping and the 'door open' icon lit up on the dashboard. I stopped the car and again tried to manually push the door shut as it appeared to be slightly ajar at this point. It seemed to close but the light and beep stayed on for my 10 minute drive home. When I got home I inspected more and noticed a wire for the power door had snapped at some point, I assume from the cold because it was operable the evening before. At this point I cannot open that door manually either, it is completely stuck shut, which I feel is a safety issue as my kids only have one point of egress. I did some research and this seems to match the description of one of the recalls but I was told my vehicle was not included based on the VIN #.

I HAVE A 2013 TOYOTA SIENNA AND NOTICED A CLICKING/KNOCKING SOUND WHENEVER I'M TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT WHILE IN MOTION. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE CV BOOT AND SO I BROUGHT MY CAR TO TWO LOCAL SHOP MECHANIC BUT THEY COULD NOT FIND THE ISSUE. I HAVE CHECKED ONLINE AND FOUND SOMETHING THAT MIGHT BE THE CAUSE OF THIS KNOCKING SOUND. I SAW IN ONE TOYOTA SIENNA FORUM TALKING ABOUT THE ISSUE WITH THEIR "STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT" WHERE ONE OF THE OWNER HAVE THIS ISSUE. THE MILEAGE OF MY VAN IS 104900 JUST PASS THE WARRANTY OF 100K BUT STILL LESS THAN 5 YEARS BY APRIL OF THIS YEAR. I KNOW THEIR WARRANTY POLICY IS WHICH EVER COMES FIRST. AND I'VE NOTICED THIS ISSUE 10 MONTHS BEFORE MY MILEAGE GOES MORE THAN 100K BUT I DID NOT PAY ATTENTION ON THIS BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT'S GONNA GO AWAY. I LIVE IN ONTARIO CANADA.

EVEN THE FRONT DOOR IS LOCKED AND IN DRIVE MODE YOU CAN OPEN THE DOOR, WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING AND THE DOOR ARE LOCKED MY WIFE ALMOST FELL WHEN HE ACCIDENTALLY PULLED THE FRONT DOOR OPENER. ITS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE AND IT MAKE NO SENSE IF YOU CAN OPEN THE DOOR INSIDE EVEN IF ITS LOCKED SPECIALLY WHEN ITS RUNNING. Two Front Tires 235/55R18 100V wore down to completely unsafe condiotion and had to be replaced. Tires were on vehicle less than 8 months and had less than 10K miles on them.

YOKO TORNANTE h/v 235/55 R 18 released belt on Drivers front and passenger front during September 2021; mileage at time is 85850, mileage at install was 54380. tires had 31,470 on them at failure with a 75,000 rating. Previous failure of: YOKO TORNANTE 235/55 R 14, released belt on passenger rear tire in June 2021. Tired bought and installed October 2017, tires have 75,000 mileage rating. Tire had less than 31,000 miles on it at failure. No warning lights or alerts; tire inspected at Island Tire in Marathon, Florida on trip from Virginia. Caught issue prior to any injury. Issue took place on vacation from Virginia. Second failure of tires on Drivers front and passenger front in September 2021 for released belt. Yoko Tornante 135/55 R 14. Appears to be bad batch of tires.

I was driving down the street and then my car lurched forward, the engine revving up. It is a 2013 Sienna XLE V6 & it had 113,000 miles on it. I had to STOMP on the brake to get it to stop.

TONIGHT AROUND 1950 HRS., WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK MY VEHICLE IN A PARKING COVER, I LOST CONTROL OVER MY TOYOTA SIENNA 2013 DUE TO UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED SUDDENLY AND AS A RESULT I HIT AND RUN OVER THE CURB. I TRIED TO APPLY THE BRAKE PADDLE WITH ALL OF MY STRENGTH WITHOUT ANY SUCCESS. TWO OF MY CHILDREN WERE FRIGHTENED BECAUSE OF THIS ACCIDENT. IF IT WASN'T FOR THE CURB IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLE, MY VEHICLE WOULD HAVE STRUCK/HIT THE APARTMENT BUILDING IN FRONT OF ME.

I TOOK A RIGHT TURN FROM JUPITAR RD. TO PRESIDENT GEORGE BUSH FREEWAY - APPROXIMATELY 400 METERS BEFORE ENTERING THE TOLLWAY. THE TRAC OFF AND ENGINE FAULT LIGHT SWITCHED ON AND THE VAN COULDN'T GO BEYOND A MAXIMUM SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 20 OR 30 MPH. I WAS SHOCKED AND STUNNED AND COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS JUST HAPPENING AND HOW TO GET THE VAN TO A SIDE PATH AMID PASSING VEHICLES AT 60 TO 70 MPH BECAUSE THAT ROAD LEAD TO TOLL WAY ENTRANCE. FINALLY, AFTER LONG WAIT WITH A SHAKY HEART, I COULD MOVE THE VAN TO RIGHT LANE @ < 30 MPH AND STOPPED NEAR A RIGHT TURN. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND INSPECTED TYRE PRESSURE . IT WAS NORMAL. RESTARTED VEHICLE AND DID A TEST DRIVE ON NORMAL ROAD - EVERY THING SEEMED NORMAL. MY VEHICLE HAD AN ERROR CODE AND I FOUND AN EXACTLY SAME COMPLAINT IN INTERNET DATED BACK TO 2008. DEMANDED AN EXPLANATION FROM ASKTOYOTA AND THEY WERE DISMISSIVE ABOUT THE INTERNET REFERENCE AND ADVISED ME TO CONTACT DEALER. MY VAN IS WITH THEM SINCE LAST 4 DAYS AND STILL DON'T HAVE A STATUS. A few days ago the seat belt sensor would continue to beep and blink even after the seat belt was fastened. Then, on Friday, December 24th, 2021, a piece popped out of the seat belt latching mechanism on the driver's seat. Now it is difficult to get the seat belt to latch, and I am unsure that the latch would hold if the vehicle was in an accident that could cause serious injury to the driver. This is available to be inspected upon request. I haven't taken this to be looked at yet, but would like to know if this is something that I would have to pay for or if the manufacturer would cover the cost of this repair.

BECAUSE I LIVE ON A DIRT ROAD; I AM ASSUMING THAT BUILT UP ON THE WINDOW ROLLERS, HAVE DAMAGED MY WINDOWS. MY WINDOWS ARE SCRATCHED, TO THE POINT WHERE IT AFFECTS VISIBILITY. I THOUGHT THE SCRATCHES WERE ON THE WINDOW TINT (INTERIOR); BUT IT TURNS OUT, IT IS ON THE EXTERIOR (THE GLASS). I WENT TO A WINDOW REPAIR SHOP, HOPING THEY COULD RESURFACE THE GLASS. THEY SAID THERE IS NO REPAIR AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THEM. REPLACING 3 TO FOUR WINDOWS WOULD COST OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS (TINT EXTRA). I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE APART FROM THE HIDEOUS LOOK, MY FAMILIES SAFETY IS AT RISK. I CHOSE NOT TO REPLACE THE WINDOWS, BECAUSE THE ROLLERS WILL JUST BEGIN THE PROCESS ALL OVER AGAIN. THE REAR WINDOW ON THE HATCHBACK DOOR BLEW OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE OVERNIGHT - THE NEXT MORNING IT WAS SHATTERED. I CONTACTED THE DEALER TO FIND OUT IF THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM - I WAS TOLD NO. HOWEVER UPON PERFORMING A GOOGLE SEARCH I FOUND HUNDREDS OF INSTANCES OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE. IT WAS ALSO INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT THE REAR WINDOWS WERE/ARE ON NATIONAL BACKORDER FROM TOYOTA. THE WINDOW INSTALLED IN MY VAN WAS APPARENTLY A "TAKE OFF" FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE 2013 TOYOTA SIENNA XLE WAS PURCHASED NEW AT LARRY H. MILLER TOYOTA IN SPOKANE, WA. ALL MAINTENANCE WAS PERFORMED AT THE SAME DEALERSHIP ACCORDING TO SCHEDULE, WITH NO PROBLEMS NOTED OTHER THAN EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS USED FOR NORMAL CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING ONLY, NO GRAVEL OR OFF-ROAD USE. DURING THE 25,000 MILES (VEHICLE MILEAGE IS SLIGHTLY LESS) CHECKUP AT THE DEALERSHIP, THE TIRES WERE DISCOVERED TO BE TREAD-BARE WITH METAL THREADS VISIBLE IN IRREGULAR PATTERNS. THIS WAS NOT AN ALIGNMENT ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW, AND ALL MAINTENANCE WAS PERFORMED ACCORDING TO SCHEDULE, THEREFORE THE TIRES ARE LIKELY DEFECTIVE. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS TIRE GOING TREAD-BARE ON OR BEFORE 20,000 MILES - THIS IS 1/2 TO 1/3 THE NORMAL LIFESPAN OF A TRADITIONAL TIRE AND OWNERS SHOULD BE NOTIFIED OF THE POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD AND BE REIMBURSED FOR ASSOCIATED REPLACEMENT COSTS. I HAVE AN ALL WHEEL DRIVE TOYOTA SIENNA WITH RUN-FLAT TIRES THAT I BOUGHT NEW. THE TIRES HAD CATASTROPHIC WEAR DOWN TO THE BELTS ON THE IN ONLY 25000 MILES, ESPECIALLY ON THE REAR. SUSPENSION ALIGNMENT CHECK AT THE DEALER SHOWED THAT THE REAR SUSPENSION WAS "IN-SPEC" AND ADDITIONALLY WAS NOT ADJUSTABLE. THE EALER TOLD ME THIS TYPE OF WEAR WAS "NORMAL". I HAVE NEVER SEEN TIRES WEAR AT THE INSIDE EDGE DOWN TO THE STEEL BELTS LIKE THIS ON ANY OF MY MANY VEHICLES OVER 40 YEARS OF DRIVING. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS DUE TO RUN FLAT TIRES, AND THIS IS HOW THEY WEAR. I DON'T BELIEVE THAT AS I HAVE ANOTHER VEHICLE WITH RUN FLAT TIRES THAT HAS NO SUCH PROBLEM. WE BROUGHT THE CAR TO TEXAS TOYOTA OF GRAPEVINE WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE A WASTE (OTHER THAN THE SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE). THEY REFUSED TO ACCEPT THAT IT COULD POSSIBLY BE A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT AND SINCE THEY "HAD NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE SO IT WON'T BE COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY." MY 2013 SIENNA WAS PARKED WITH REMOTE BUTTON USED TO OPEN THE REAR HATCHBACK DOOR. IT WAS OPEN AND WE WERE LOADING UP THE BACK AREA WHEN THE HATCHBACK SUSPENSION FAILED AND THE DOOR CAME DOWN. THE POWER SLIDING SIDE DOORS POP OPEN ON THEIR OWN. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND WHEN DRIVING. NO INJURIES TO REPORT. WHEN THE VAN WAS FINALLY JUMP STARTED AND BROUGHT TO THE DEALER, THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY, AND JUST SHRUGGED OFF THE FACT THAT THE DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN WHEN THE BATTERY IS DEAD. I HAVE A 2013 TOYOTA SIENNA AWD WITH 23,500 MILES ON IT AND MY BRAKES JUST STARTED SCRAPPING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE BRAKES AND ROTORS WERE WORN OUT AND NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. COST: $970 AND CHANGE. A CAR WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE SHOULD NOT NEED NEW BRAKES AND ROTORS.THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT GIVE ME A REASON FOR THE WEAR BUT INSISTED THE WORK WAS NECESSARY AND THAT THEY HAD THE CAR APART AND READY TO GO. BECAUSE IT IS A 2013 THERE WAS NO WARRANTEE SO I HAD TO PAY THE ENTIRE BILL OUT OF POCKET.

AUGUST 1 2015: DRIVING STRAIGHT AND LEVEL, ABOUT 30 MPH BEGAN TO SLOW TO TURN AND THE BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK. PEDDLE WAS SOFT, UNSURE IF IT WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. Pressed the button to open the rear passenger sliding door and it would open. When opened manually it would open only about 12 inches. Then when we were driving on the highway the door opened on its own. The door had to be manually closed and now it will not open. This is now a safety concern that in the event of a crash passengers may not be able to exit the vehicle or the door could open again while driving.

I had sever car accident while I am 7 months pregnant including my 5 years old sons . During the accident my airbag was not deployed which lead me hematoma in my uterus. That car is totally losses and the accident was severe .Thank God we put the sit belt and even if the frontdash board hit me bad . I will attach all the details of the accident and the police report. We tried to submit our complaint to Toyota and they refused to help .As if the air bug should not supposed to deploy with that kind of severe accident they say they don’t use this information .

Starting about two years ago, the traction/ABS lights come on between 20-35 mph on a gradual curve or randomly while driving. The brakes come on, like an ABS event, even though the brakes are not applied. The car will jerk to the right or left and chatters/vibrates. The mechanic said the brakes, tire wear and pressure, and suspension are all in very good condition and there are not traction control or ABS codes. This does not appear to be normal wear and is dangerous. We can only drive it on short trips for fear of getting in an accident. I decided to look online and found that hundreds of Toyota owners are experiencing the same symptoms. (https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Discussion-c9152_ds656326). This is to advise you of a safety issue with our 2013 Toyota Sienna XLE Minivan having a V6 (3.5L) engine. Our vehicle currently has 118,169 miles on it and has been well maintained. This vehicle was purchased new and is operated primarily in Florida where we live. Over the last 6 - 10 months on three occasions our Sienna Minivan suddenly lurched forward as the engine revved up. On all three occasions, I had to take quick action and with significant force press the brake pedal as well as place the minivan in neutral and then into park in order to stop our minivan from surging forward and hitting the car in front of me. On all three occasions, my right foot was on the brake pedal when this occurred and on two of the three occasions, our minivan was slowly accelerating from either a stopped position or a very low speed (5 mph or less). On one of the occasions I was approaching an intersection with a stop sign and our minivan was decelerating to a stop when the engine revved up and the minivan surged forward. This occurred as our minivan was going approximately 5 - 10 mph. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to any of these incidents. I have reported this condition to our local Toyota Dealer but they said they could not duplicate the issue during their test drive. This is a serious safety condition and one that could result in a serious accident with injuries particularly if the driver is not quick to react to this unexpected condition.

OUR VAN HAS 93,800 MILES ON IT AND IS MAKING A GRINDING NOISE WHEN WE TURN LEFT AND RIGHT WHILE MOVING AT SLOWER SPEEDS. WE TOOK THE VAN IN AND WERE TOLD THAT THE STRUTS NEED REPLACED AND IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THIS IS LOW MILES FOR THIS VEHICLE AND WOULD BE STILL UNDER WARRANTY IF IT WAS NOT OLDER THAN 5 YEARS. THIS SHOULD NOT NEED A REPAIR LIKE THIS ALREADY. MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME COMPLAINTS ON HIS FORUM AT ABOUT THE SAME MILEAGE. TOYOTA PRIDES ITSELF ON MAKING VEHICLES TO LAST BUT HAVE MADE SEVERAL MISTAKES ON THIS MODEL. COST TO FIX IT IS $750. IN MAY OF 2016 WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE GRAPEVINE FROM LA THE CAR AGAIN BEGAN TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE. TOOK THE CAR BACK. I PULLED INTO A MALL JUST AHEAD AND LOOKED BEHIND THE DRIVERS SEAT TO FIND THE 2ND ROW SEAT, WHERE 10 MINUTES BEFORE MY DAUGHTER HAD BEEN SITTING, HAD COLLAPSED FORWARD, SLID ON THE RAILS AND SLAMMED INTO THE DRIVERS SEAT. THE SEAT WAS LOCKED AND UNABLE TO BE MOVED IN IT'S COLLAPSED POSITION. I SUFFERED EXTREME WHIP LASH AND BACK PAIN. SINCE I WAS IN-ROUTE TO TOYOTA FOR MORE PROBLEMS I WENT TO THE DEALER WHO MOVED THE SEAT BACK AND CLAIMED "MY DAUGHTER MUST HAVE PLAYED WITH IT" AFTER GOING TO A NEW DEALERSHIP AND MONTHS OF TESTING AND BACK AND FORTH TOYOTA REPLICATED THE PROBLEM AND SAID THE RAILS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BUT NOT THE SEAT. THEY ALSO HAD ME SIGN OFF THAT THEY COULD INSPECT THE PARTS AND TELL ME WHY IT FAILED. THIS NEVER HAPPENED. TWO WEEKS AGO I WAS SLOWING ON A STEEP TWISTING DIRT ROAD TO STOP BEFORE TURNING ON A BRIDGE AND HEAR A SOUND LIKE GOING UP A ROLLER COASTER. CLICK CLICK CLICK. I BRACED BC I KNEW WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND AGAIN MY DAUGHTERS SEAT SLAMMED INTO MINE. THIS TIME NOT ONLY DID THE RAILS FAIL TO STOP THE SEAT BUT IT AGAIN COLLAPSED FORWARD AND THIS TIME THE FOOT REST ALSO UNLOCKED AND LODGED UNDER MY SEAT. LUCKILY I DID NOT HAVE MY DAUGHTER IN THE VAN THIS TIME EITHER. 2.5 YEARS OF REPEATED UNSUCCESSFUL REPAIRS TO VARIOUS PARTS (MOON ROOF 8+)(RADIO/GPS 5+)(SQUEAKING/RATTLING REAR SEATS 5+) LIABILITY REPORT FILED (4TH) WILL CONTACT A LAWYER THIS TIME.

BRAKES LOCKED UP WHILE TRYING TO LEAVE A PARKING LOT. MANY WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON INCLUDING VSC, ABS, AND TRACTION CONTROL AND THE COMPUTER SAID NEEDS IMMEDIATE SERVICE. THE TOYOTA SERVICE MANAGER SAID THEY'VE NEVER SEEN THIS AND THAT THE ACTUATOR NEEDS REPLACED. I'VE NOTED THAT THERE ARE 2 OTHER INSTANCES OF THIS ISSUE AND HOPE THAT THIS SAFETY ISSUE WILL BE INVESTIGATED. THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V054000 THAT DISCUSSES: "AN ELECTRICAL COMPONENT WITHIN THE ACTUATOR MAY EXPERIENCE AN INCREASED RESISTANCE RESULTING IN THE ILLUMINATION OF VARIOUS WARNING LIGHTS, INCLUDING THOSE FOR THE VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL (VSC) SYSTEM, ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS), AND TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM." FROM THE ONSET OF PURCHASE OF A 2013 TOYOTA SIENNA XLE, THE AIR CONDITIONER HAS EMITTED A FOUL ODOR THAT SMELLS LIKE MOLD. NOR WILL THE A/C SYSTEM ADEQUATELY COOL THE VEHICLE UNTIL BEING DRIVEN SOMETIMES AS LONG AS TEN MILES, IF THEN. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD TO TURN OFF THE A/C BEFORE ARRIVING HOME TO ELIMINATE THE ODOR AND GIVEN A TOYOTA PRINT OUT THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT IS SPECIFIC TO THE 2013 TOYOTA SIENNA. ON THE LAST SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE FREON WAS ADDED BUT DID NOT ELIMINATE THE ODOR OR IMPROVED THE A/C OUTPUT. THE FOUL ODOR NEVER GOES AWAY WHILE DRIVING AND MAY BE AN ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD FOR PERSONS WITH A LUNG OR BREATHING CONDITION. THIS IS A TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE SOLUTION FOR THE RISK OF BEING EXPOSED TO A POTENTIAL DANGEROUS AND UNKNOWN NOXIOUS FUME TO THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE. *TR

AS I WAS PULLING ON TO THE HIGHWAY THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I THEN NOTICED THE VEHICLE WAS UNDERPOWERED, LIKE ONE CYLINDER WAS DEACTIVATED. CALLED MY DEALER FROM HIGHWAY WHO ADVISED THAT THEY WERE CLOSING IN 5 MINS AND TO NOT TURN IT OFF AS IT MAY NOT RESTART AND I MAY BE STRANDED ON HIGHWAY. DEALER FELT THAT IT WAS JUST BAD GAS, BUT I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THEM CHECK OUT THE CAR THE NEXT DAY. DROVE AT REDUCED SPEED TO MY HOUSE, TURNED CAR OFF AND A FEW MINUTES LATER RESTARTED VAN AND ALL THE LIGHTS WENT OUT AND THE CAR PERFORMED AS NORMAL. THE DEALER INSPECTION THE NEXT DAY INDICATED A CYLINDER ENGINE CODE, AND NOT TO WORRY AS IT WAS PROBABLY BAD GAS. THERE ARE 2 PROBLEMS I AM EXPERIENCING WITH MY 1 YR OLD TOYOTA 2013 SIENNA VAN - 1> RATTLING NOISE COMING FRM BACK OF 2ND ROW OR 3RD SEAT - VERY HARD TO PINPOINT SOURCE, TOOK IT TO MY DEALER FOR 25K SVC, EXPLAINED, WAS NOTIFIED THEY WILL RUN THIS CHECK ON MY 30K MILEAGE SVC AS VAN NEEDS TO BE LEFT FOR 3 TO 4 HRS WITH THEM. THERE ARE A LOT OF INTERNET BLOGS AND POSTINGS ON THIS ISSUE, WITH SOME GETTING TOYOTA TO REPLACE 2ND OR 3RD SEATING COMPLETELY WITH A BRAND NEW SEAT AND THUS MAKING NOISE DISAPPEAR 2> WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL, WHINING NOISE IN THE BACKGROUND CAN BE HEARD AT VERY LO W SPEED AROUND 15-25 MPH OR EVEN LESS, VERY ANNOYING AND DISTURBING FOR ANY CAR DRIVER.I BELIEVE THAT IS MAY ALSO SIGNIFY AN UNDERLYING PROBLEM, WAITING TO GET OUT OF CONTROL. WITH A RANGE OF MOVING PARTS WORKING IN TANDEM, IT IS DIFFICULT TO FIGURE OUT THE SOURCE OF SUCH ABNORMAL CAR SOUNDS. HOWEVER, ONE THING YOU CAN BE SURE OF, IS THAT THE NOISE, IN THIS CASE, IS CREATED DUE TO SOME PROBLEM IN THE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY ITSELF. THE LIKELY CANDIDATES ARE THE POWER STEERING PUMP, PULLEY, OR THE BELT. I BELIEVE - TOYOTA AGAIN IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE - AS THERE ARE NUMEROUS BLOGS AND POSTINGS ON THIS ISSUE AS WELL, THEY SHOULD COME OUT CLEAN AND MAKE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS ASAP PRIOR AN INJURY OR FATALITY HAPPENS AGAIN.
