While driving at speeds between 30 - 50 miles an hour. There is a very rough shudder coming from the transmission. It will get better by speeding up or by stopping the vehicle and turning the car off. When the shudder starts and you try to come to a stop the rear end of the vehicle shakes excessively. You think the back of the truck is going to skip off the road. Toyota did a manufacture service bulletin for this issue. However they only covered certain years and my VIN was not included in the fix. My vehicle now has 211000 miles and it is happening to my vehicle.

Transmission shifts very rough. When let off accelerator then back on the trans shift very rough. When coming to a stop and at a stop the trans jumps as if it’s downshifting while sitting still. These issues have been existing since I initially purchased the vehicle. It was reported and I was told it’s normal.

The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while idle at a traffic light and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle was jerking with a popping sound coming from underneath the vehicle near the middle and the rear end. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that the yoke had separated from the driveshaft. The vehicle was not repaired by the mechanic and was instead taken to the dealer for a possible recall repair related to the failure. The dealer confirmed the diagnostic result however, the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 07V579000 (Power Train). The contact stated that the same failure had occurred 5 years prior and the vehicle was repaired out-of-pocket. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ABS WARNING LIGHT AND STABILITY CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHILE EXCEEDING 75 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE TAILSHAFT HOUSING SEAL TWICE HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO NORTH BAKERSFIELD TOYOTA (19651 INDUSTRY PKWY DR, BAKERSFIELD, CA 93308, (661) 615-1100) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DRIVELINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07V579000 (POWER TRAIN) DUE TO THE VEHICLE BEING A 2 WHEEL DRIVE AND NOT A 4 WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

A NEW TRANSMISSION WAS PUT IN MY 07 TUNDRA IN 2018 (DO TO IMPROPER SERVICE) WORKED WELL AT THAT TIME. IN 2019 TAIL SHAFT SEAL STARTED TO LEAK AGAIN WAS THEN REPLACED WITH A NEW SEAL GENIUNE TOYOTA SEAL HAS WORKED WELL FOR ABOUT 3K MILES AND HAS STARTED TO LEAK AGAIN IT SEEMS TO ONLY LEAK AFTER ONCE THE TRUCK GETS WARMED UP AND ONLY WHEN IT IS IN MOTION ON HWY OR STREETS. I AM SEEING A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS! WILL INCLUDE LINKS. I SEE RECALLS FOR 07 4WD FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT NOT FOR THE 2WD WHY IT SOUNDS LIKE THE SAME PROBLEM EXACTLY, AND FEEL THIS COULD BE A BIG SAFETY PROBLEM LEADING TO AN ACCIDENT, FIRE OR DEATH. The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated while parking the vehicle, there was a loud sound coming from the vehicle. The contact inspected the vehicle and determined that the fuel tank scrap and bolt had fractured and detached. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. In addition, the contact stated that when the vehicle was purchased in May 2024, the contact later noticed flaking material on the ground underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, but no assistance was provided. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. In addition, the contact confirmed that in March 2019, the vehicle was serviced under an unknown corrosion prevention recall repair. The contact confirmed that at the time, the dealer performed the recall repair by spraying anti-corrosion prevention on the suspension. The unknown recall repair was warranted for 60 months. The failure mileage was approximately 279,000.

The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that occasionally while driving at various speeds on bumpy road surfaces, the fuel tank was scraping against the pavement. The contact stated that upon inspection from the outside, the contact became aware that the fuel tank was hanging abnormally low and the bracket holding up the brake lines and fuel lines were completely rusted. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed, and the contact was informed that due to the abnormal amount of rust on the sub frame, the vehicle was not safe to be driven. The contact was informed that the entire sub frame needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 142,255.

Undercoating of vehicle was not properly installed causing the frame to rust out creating a serious safety concern as the fuel tank can fall from the vehicle due to extensive rust. Toyota is aware of this situation however refuses to repair the problem.

The frame of the vehicle has a recall on it because of excessive rusting. The previous owner had not gotten the recall fixed. The rusted frame causes issues with steering, maintenance, and general control and safety of the vehicle. Toyota dealerships claim this recall has expired. A rusted frame violated NY State inspection. Since this indefinitely violates the NHTSA guidelines and regulations, how can it expire? Toyota refuses to fix the recall on the frame due to “expiration” and would rather endanger roadways see as many of these vehicles still are driven on public roadways and come with a hefty cost due to the expiration. Many vehicles like this with under 100k miles have the same critical issue, leaving Americas at a loss. This recall should not “expire”

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Gas tank cover plate is rusting out causing the tank to almost fall out. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? My safety and others safety was put at risk as if the tank were to fall out, it could catch the vehicle on fire. Also as the plate rusts even more day by day, the heat from the exhaust and other parts that heat up it can damage the gas tank and once again is a fire hazard. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No, there are no open recalls from what I can’t tell by the vin but same year has same problems and are under recall. Not sure why this one isn’t under recall. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No, there would be no lights for an issue like this.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Tundra. The contact initially received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 09V388000(Vehicle Speed Control); the vehicle was taken to the dealer and the recall was serviced. Recently, the contact stated that as his wife was exiting their driveway, the vehicle independently accelerated without warning. The contact's wife turned the vehicle into her yard where she hit four trees and then crashed into a big tree which stopped the vehicle. The air bags deployed once she crashed into the bigger tree. The contact's wife was thrown to the right and hit her head on the rearview mirror. His wife was taken to the hospital by ambulance where she was treated for the head wound and back pain. She later sought treatment from an orthopedic doctor where they discovered three compressed fractures to her vertebrae(T1, T2, and T3). A police report was filed. The contact did his own investigation into the accident and discovered that black box had recorded that the vehicle's speed was 42.3 MPH at the time of the failure. Both the dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure but both offered no assistance. The vehicle remained in the contact's possession. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 164,000.

I HAD MY VEHICLE REPAIRED BASED ON THE 2010 TOYOTA RECALL NOTICE I RECEIVED ABOUT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL NOW SOMETIMES STICKS IN THE HALF-OPEN POSITION AND REFUSES TO RETURN ON ITS OWN. I HAVE USED THE TOE OF MY FOOT TO PULL THE PEDAL BACK TO THE NON-ACCELATERATING POSITION. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED, IF YOU TOUCH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE RPMS WILL INCREASE AND DECREASE ON THEIR OWN, AND EVEN IF THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK POSITION. THIS DOES NOT OCCUR EVERY TIME YOU OPERATE THE VEHICLE, BUT RANDOMLY, AND WITH NO PATTERN. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL HAS 3/4 TO 1 INCH OF "FREE PLAY" BEFORE IT RESPONDS AND FEEDS GAS TO THE ENGINE. OBVIOUSLY, THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY IF SOMEONE BESIDES MYSELF WAS OPERATING THE VEHICLE. TOYOTA INC DOES NOT SEEM TO UNDERSTAND WHY THEIR "FIX" TO YOUR ORIGINAL RECALL ABOUT THIS DOES NOT WORK, OR THEY HAVE CREATED AN ADDITIONAL PROBLEM WITH THEIR "FIX" TO THE 2010 RECALL.

TOYOTA REPLACED MY ACCELERATOR PEDAL BACK WHEN THEY HAD CARS THAT WOULD UNINTENTIONALLY ACCELERATE. NOTHING HAD BEEN PROVEN WRONG WITH MY PEDAL, THERE WERE NO SYMPTOMS. HOWEVER, TUNDRA WAS DOING A NATIONWIDE RECALL IN THE NAME OF SAFETY CONCERNS. WHEN THE CAR WAS RETURNED TO ME, THE PEDAL WAS JUST FLOPPY AND SENSITIVE AS COULD BE. THE CAR WOULD JUST LAUNCH ITSELF FORWARD. HITTING BUMPS ON THE ROAD CAUSED THE CAR TO ACCELERATE. THIS RECALL WAS DONE AT 28K MILES. NOW AT 65K MILES, WITH MY FAMILY IN THE CAR. I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT AND WENT TO ACCELERATE. THERE WAS NO FRICTION OR PEDAL FEEL WHATSOEVER, THE CAR ACCELERATED AND THANK GOD DUE TO RAIN, INSTEAD OF BEING PROPELLED, I SKID FORWARD ABOUT A FOOT. THERE WAS A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF SENSITIVITY AND PEDAL FEEL WAS GONE. ***THIS ON THE SUPPOSED "FIXED" PEDAL. I TOOK THE CAR TO TOYOTA DEALERSHIP IN GAINESVILLE, GATORLAND TOYOTA WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THEY TESTED THE CAR AND BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM, THEY STATED THEY WOULD DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. NOT EVEN REPLACE THE PEDAL AGAIN. THERE ARE PLENTY OF TOYOTA OWNERS ON THE INTERNET COMPLAINING THAT THINGS ARE STILL WRONG WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDALS AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT. 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA 4.7. APPROXIMATELY 124,000 KMS ENGINE WENT INITO LIMP MODE. DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED PROBLEM AS AIR PUMP AND VALVE BANK FAILURE, $4700 REPAIR ESTIMATE. NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE OVER 100,000 KMS. ALSO PURCHASED EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THIS VEHICLE HOWEVER THESE PARTS ARE NOT COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. (GO FIGURE) PURSUED THE EMISSIONS WARRANTY WHICH COVERS EMISSION CONTROL PARTS, HOWEVER TOYOTA CLAIMS THIS IS NOT PART OF THE EMISSION SYSTEM EVEN THOUGH THE AIR PUMP CONTROLS EMISSIONS AT VEHICLE START UP. TOOK THE PUMP OFF THE VEHICLE AND DRAINED THE WATER FROM THE POORLY DESIGNED SYSTEM, LUBRICATED THE PUMP AND GOT IT WORKING. TRUCK WENT BACK INTO LIMP MODE AFTER A COUPLE DAYS NOW APPARENTLY VALVE BANK IS STUCK. TOYOTA STILL RECOMMENDS REPLACING ALL THE PARTS FOR $4700. NOT HAPPY WITH TOYOTA THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL THE PUMP IS LOCATED IN THE FENDER WELL DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF RIGHT FRONT TIRE, THE INTAKE PIPE FOR THE PUMP IS DESIGNED SO THAT ANY WATER PRESENT GOES DIRECTLY INTO THE PUMP CAUSING THE SYSTEM FAILURE. IT WOULD BE A PRETTY SIMPLE FIX FOR TOYOTA JUST PUT A 90 DEGREE BEND IN THE PIPE SO THAT WATER CANNOT GET IN AND REPOSITION THE INTAKE HOLE. TRYING TO SELL TUNDRA IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED. *KB

1ST WEEK OF APRIL, 2011, 2007 TUNDRA WENT INTO "LIMP" MODE, HOOKED UP TESTER, SAID P2442 CODE. COMMON PROBLEM, ON THESE TRUCKS, FROM WHAT DEALER TOLD ME. ORDERED PARTS, AT THAT TIME. $1500.00 OF PARTS ORDERED. TOOK 9 WEEKS, TO GET PARTS. A VERY DANGEROUS TRUCK TO DRIVE, WITH THIS SITUATION. CAN'T PARK IT, TO WAIT 9 WEEKS, FOR PARTS, STILL MAKING PAYMENTS. NO POWER, DANGEROUS ON FREEWAY, OR ANY WHERE ELSE. TOYOTA WAS STILL SENDING NEW TRUCKS, TO BE SOLD, WHEN, THEY COULD HAVE SENT PARTS, TO FIX THIS VERY EXPENSIVE, AND DANGEROUS PROBLEM. NEW PUMPS AND VALVES CAN BE INSTALLED FOR $4000 OR IF YOU ARE LUCKY AND YOU ONLY NEED TO REPLACE ONE PUMP AND BOTH VALVES IT ONLY COST $2150. WE RECEIVED A RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE FROM TOYOTA TO SAY THE SECONDARY AIR INJECTION SYSTEM VALVE STUCK OPEN, WE CONTACTED THEM, THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER THE MILEAGE, BUT, UNDER THE YEAR OF MANUFACTURE, THIS WAS RELAYED TO US ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, VERBALLY, TOYOTA SEEMS RELUCTANT TO PUT IT IN WRITING. Like mine which had a bad frame but spent half its life in Florida during the winners and within 4 years of being in New York showed rust in within another 4 years had holes in the frame! Toyota coated my frame three different times to buy time to get it off the timeline for the recall! It's a 2007 tundra SR5 with a bad frame

Subject: Dealer Warranty Enhancement Program ZH7 Certain 2007 – 2008 Model Year Tundra Extension of Warranty Coverage for Frame Corrosion - Ended on 1/21/2019 (attached). Details: See Attached Pictures - Frame has rusted out with considerable "perforation" 10mm or larger. The condition clearly started many years ago. The vehicle was rust protected at an independent non-dealer shop. No known frame issues were witnessed prior to the 2019 deadline. Vehicle was not taken to the Toyota Dealer based on aftermarket rust protection application and no witnessed issues. The enhancement was not stated as a mandatory recall (which it should have been). The vehicle has 80k and has been lightly used in Virginia (cold climate state). The entire structural integrity of the truck is put at risk with this condition. An independent shop investigated the condition and provided the pictures. Repairs are underway but Toyota America should be responsible for extending this enhancement to a mandatory recall of all impacted vehicles. This is clearly a public safety hazard, breakdown in quality and totally unacceptable.

FIRST AND ONLY TIME I USED THE SUPPLIED JACK FOR MY 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA. I FOLLOWED THE DIRECTIONS AS INDICATED IN OWNERS MANUAL AND WAS ON LEVEL GROUND AT TIME OF THIS PITIFUL JACK?S FAILURE. I bought a 2007 Toyota Tundra less than 3 months ago from Toyota of Simi Valley. 2 months ago my check engine light and other warning lights suddenly went on while I was driving and my truck went into “limp mode” while merging onto a freeway, causing other drivers to swerve around me to avoid a collision. I took the truck back to Toyota and they advised the Air injection pump and air control valve need to be replaced. Total cost to repair is almost $4,000. I purchased at Bronze level extended warranty which covers up to 24,000 miles but the insurance carrier denied the claim saying these items are excluded, despite these items not being listed on their “excluded items list”. Toyota then offered to pay 1/2 the total cost of repairs, which in of itself is an admission of guilt. I’ve only made 2 payments on the vehicle, I should not be responsible for these repairs. I took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who advised Toyota’s assessment is correct, however, it should only cost $2k to fix the vehicle, not $4k. The mechanic also advised of an emission system issue and that this vehicle will not pass smog at this time.

After filling the gas tank and driving home, I happened to notice something hanging down under the driver’s side of the truck. The rear of the two fuel tank bands was fractured near the outboard mount and appears to be due to excessive corrosion. I have no idea if it separated that day or how long I may have been driving with just the front fuel tank band (also rusted) holding the fuel tank in the vehicle. If I hadn’t had a clear view of the truck from a distance (from sidewalk a few houses away), I’m afraid I might never have noticed until the front fuel tank band (now under greater loading condition) also fractured. I’m assuming in that scenario, the fuel tank would drag the ground, held only by the fuel lines, with possible deadly consequences depending on vehicle speed and other factors. I can’t stop my mind thinking about what might have happened. At higher speed, would the rear axle have catapulted over the fuel tank causing loss of control, even before any fuel leakage?

The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated while driving at 45 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle failed to respond. The check engine warning light was illuminated. On a separate occasion, the contact stated that while driving uphill or driving forward, the vehicle lost motive power while depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed with air injection pumps and air injection switching valves failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered the contact an Extended Warranty. The contact was informed that the dealer would reach out to her; however, when the dealer contacted the contact, the contact was informed that the vehicle was not covered under an Extended Warranty. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXHIBITING AN UNUSUALLY OVERPOWERING GASOLINE ODOR AND THERE WAS GASOLINE LEAKING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THAT THE O-RING WAS DEFECTIVE AND ALLOWING THE FUEL TANK TO LEAK. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THE FAILURE WAS COMMON FOR HIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 51,000.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2007 Toyota Tundra. The contact discovered a mileage discrepancy after the purchase. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the mileage was approximately 145,000. The contact attempted to resell the vehicle; and it was discovered through a Carfax Report that the mileage on the Title was approximately 330,000 in 2018.

6/20/12 I NOTICED MASTER POWER WINDOW BUTTON ON DRIVER?S SIDE DOOR FOR THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW WAS STUCK AND WOULD NOT OPERATE. 6/21/12 I STARTED THE TRUCK IN MY DRIVEWAY AND TURNED ON THE AC, LEFT THE VEHICLE TO GRAB MY BRIEFCASE AND GET IN NO MORE THAN 15 SECONDS. WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR I NOTICED SMOKE AT THE ENTRYWAY BUT COULDN?T IDENTIFY WHAT OR WHERE IT WAS COMING FROM. I APPEARED TO GO AWAY SO I THOUGHT I WAS IMAGINING SOMETHING. I GOT IN THE TRUCK AND NOTICED THE SMELL OF BURNING ELECTRICAL WIRES ABOUT THE TIME MY HEAD TURNED I SAW SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE DRIVERS SIDE POWER WINDOW MASTER CONTROL AND GETTING BIG FAST, I OPENED THE DOOR AND IT REALLY CAME OUT FAST. TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND IMMEDIATELY TRIED TO SEE IF IT WAS FLAMES OR NOT. IT WAS NOT IN FLAMES BUT THE SMOKE WAS STILL COMING OUT. I GRABBED THE FUSE BOX PANEL AND TRIED TO IDENTIFY THE FUSE FOR THE POWER WINDOWS. IT TOOK A CALL TO THE DEALERSHIP TO IDENTIFY THE FUSE UNDER THE DASHBOARD I DIDN?T KNOW WAS THERE I THOUGHT THEE WAS ONLY 1 FUSE PANEL BOX. THE DEALERSHIP WAS EXTREMELY RESPONSIVE AND A LOT OF HELP. SERVICE ADVISOR WE IDENTIFIED THE CORRECT FUSE, REMOVED IT AND THE SMOKE STOPPED. I HAVE NO OTHER PROBLEMS THAT I KNOW OF. THIS IS A 2007 VEHICLE WITH A FIRE DEFECT. I WENT ON THE INTERNET AND SEE THAT THERE ARE IDENTIFIED PROBLEMS FOR THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM BUT THE TUNDRA WAS NOT IDENTIFIED AS A MODEL AFFECTED BUT IT SURE SHOULD BE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE AIR INJECTION PUMP WAS SUFFERING FROM WATER INTRUSION. I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA WITH 4.7L THAT DOESN'T LIKE TO START ALL THE TIME. WHILE THIS ISN'T A SAFETY ISSUE I BELIEVE YOU ARE LOOKING INTO THE POSSIBILITY OF AN ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONICS PROBLEM ASSOCIATED WITH THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION. AS A FORMER MECHANIC/CURRENT ELECTRICIAN/AS IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING I BELIEVE MY PROBLEM IS DEFINITELY ELECTRICAL IN NATURE. I'M NOT SURE IF IT IS RELATED BUT I FIGURED I WOULD SEND A MESSAGE AND GIVE YOU A HEADS UP. ALSO THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED CASE AS ANOTHER GENTLEMAN IN TOWN HERE HAS THE SAME YEAR MAKE AND MODEL WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. Gulf States Toyota issued a recall (GST002) for the Enkei 18” wheels installed on my 2007 tundra. Toyota Vandergriff in Arlington has attempted to contact Gulf States Toyota multiple times since 8/21/25 but no reply has been provided. Currently, the wheels need to be replaced under the recall but Gulf States Toyota has made no effort to rectify the situation.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. THE DEALER FOUND THAT BOTH SPOKES WHERE BUSTED. THE DEALER ASKED THE CONTACT IF HE HAD AN ACCIDENT. THE CONTACT STATED NO HE HADN'T BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. THE DEALER THEN CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND INFORMED THEM OF THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER NO LONGER SOLD THAT MODEL TIRE AND STATED THAT CONTACT COULD GET FOUR NEW WHEELS. THEY LET HIM CHOSE FROM TWO DIFFERENT MODELS AT KNOW COST TO HIM. THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALER AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE NEW TIRES ARE BEING ORDERED. THE CONTACT FEELS THAT THE MANUFACTURER KNEW THERE WAS AN FAILURE WITH THE WHEELS ,THATS THE REASON THEY STOPPED SELLING THEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 25000. THE VEHICLE SKIDDED ACROSS THE ROADWAY WHILE SHAKING VIOLENTLY AND EXHIBITING AN ABNORMAL GRINDING NOISE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP BY SHIFTING INTO PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS OF THE FAILURE OR REPAIRS. THE CONTAC STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED FOR THE SAME FAILURE AND THE DEALER PERFORMED A FRONT END ALIGNMENT AND ROTATED ALL FOUR TIRES. TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED IT FROM ON SEPTEMBER 24, 2009 , THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID THAT THERE ARE RUST ON THE FROND DISKS AND THE REAR DRUMS AND IT THEY NEED TO RESURFACE THE FRONT DISKS AND REAR DRUMS. TRUCK THEN HAD ONLY (15576 MILES), I PAID $418.12 FOR THE REPAIR, ADVISOR SAID IT IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. ON FEB. 2, 2010 I CONTACTED THE TOYOTA CONSUMER EXPERIENCE CENTER IN CA, THEY WOULD NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THERE IS AN ISSUE, AND SHE GAVE ME A CASE NO. AND SAID I SHOULD TALK TO THE SERVICE MANAGE AT THE DEALER ( I DID NOT CONTACT HIM, BECAUSE I FELT I GET NO SATISFACTION). THERE IS A BASEBALL SIZED HOLE IN MY FRAME AND TOYOTA WAS NOTIFIED OF IT AND DENIED THAT IS WAS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO REPAIR ISSUES RELATED TO IMPROPER ANTI CORROSION TREATMENT DURING MANUFACTURING. I RECENTLY PURCHASES A USED 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA DOUBLE CAB FROM A PRIVATE PARTY. I TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE ON AC PAVEMENT WITH NO MAJOR ISSUES, BUT UPON PURCHASING AND DRIVING ON MY TYPICAL FREEWAY COMMUTE TRAVELING AT NORMAL SPEEDS (55-70MPH) IT SHAKES VIOLENTLY. THE SHAKING RESONATED AT ONE POINT SO VIOLENTLY THAT I LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND HAD TO DRASTICALLY SLOW DOWN TO REGAIN CONTROL. I AM FEARFUL OF MY SAFETY AND THAT OF ANY PASSENGERS, ESPECIALLY MY CHILDREN. INITIALLY, MY TRUCK WAS TAKEN TO A TOYOTA DEALER SERVICE CENTER ON 3/15/2012 TO AN ISSUE WITH MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT, 4-WHEEL DRIVE (4LO), VSC OFF ALL CAME ON, SLUGGISH ACCELERATION/LOSS OF ACCELERATION OCCURRED WHEN DRIVEN & MY GAS MILEAGE/FUEL EFFICIENCY DECREASED (MY TRUCK APPEARED TO 'RUN RICH'). INITIALLY THE WARNING/INDICATOR LIGHTS WOULD OCCASIONALLY STAY ON WHEN THE TRUCK WAS STARTED, OTHER TIMES THEY WOULD NOT. EVENTUALLY, THEY JUST STAYED ON WHENEVER THE TRUCK WAS STARTED. WHEN SERVICED, I WAS TOLD THAT THE ISSUE WAS COVERED BY MY WARRANTY & THE SECONDARY AIR SWITCHING VALVE WAS REPLACED WHICH SHOULD HAVE FIXED THE ISSUE. JUST OVER A YEAR LATER, 3/19/2013, THE SAME ISSUE HAS OCCURRED AFTER BEING TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED! THE MILEAGE THAT THIS OCCURRED AT WAS AROUND 44,000. THE PROBLEM WAS PRESENTING IN THE SAME WAY - LOSS OF ACCELERATION/SLUGGISH ACCELERATION (EXTREMELY DANGEROUS NOT TO HAVE ACCELERATION WHILE TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY/INTERSTATE), THE SAME WARNING/INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON & THE GAS MILEAGE/FUEL EFFICIENCY DECREASED BECAUSE THE TRUCK IS 'RUNNING RICH' AGAIN. I LET MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND THE TRUCK WENT STRAIGHT, EVEN AS I APPLIED THE BRAKES, LEAVING TWO BIG RUTS THROUGH MY FRIENDS YARD. TOYOTA TUNDRA 2007 W/ 4WD. VEHICLE WENT FROM NORMAL 2 WHEEL DRIVE INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE LOW WITHOUT WARNING, WITHOUT TOUCHING ANY CONTROLS. COULD NOT DRIVE FASTER THAN 30 MPH, ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON. TURNED INTO DEALER, THEY SAID IT WAS A COMPONENT IN THE ENGINE THAT FAILED. MY WIFE CAME VERY CLOSE TO GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT WHILE BRINGING THE KIDS TO SCHOOL A FEW WEEKS AGO. SHE WAS LEAVING A STOP SIGN GETTING ONTO A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY WHEN OUR 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA UNEXPECTEDLY HAD DRASTICALLY REDUCED POWER. AFTER A TRIP TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SOME RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT THE REDUCTION IN POWER WAS CAUSED BY A FAILURE IN THE SECONDARY AIR INJECTION SYSTEM. THIS SYSTEM IS PART OF THE EMISSIONS SYSTEM AND IS DESIGNED TO INCREASE EFFICIENCY DURING COLD STARTS. WHEN THERE IS A FAILURE IN THIS SYSTEM THE ECM (ONBOARD COMPUTER) GOES INTO A MODE IN WHICH THE AVAILABLE POWER FROM THE ENGINE IS DRAMATICALLY REDUCED. TOYOTA HAS RECOMMENDED THAT I REPLACE TWO AIR INJECTION PUMPS AND A SWITCHING VALVE SET AT AN ESTIMATE OF OVER $3500. APPROXIMATELY THREE WEEKS AGO I HAD THE ACCELERATOR RECALL REPAIR WORK COMPLETED ON MY 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA, AFTER, I NOTICED RANDOMLY WHILE I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT, INTERSECTION ETC. I JUST NOTICED OTHERS HAD COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE TOO ON YOUR SITE. I BROUGHT IT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE DEALER AND THEY HAD NO FIX EXCEPT TO REMOVE ONE OR THE OTHER ALTHOUGH THE STANDARD CLIP DOES NOT WORK WELL WITH THEIR MUDDER MATS. I WAS ENTERING THE HIGHWAY FROM THE RAMP AND PRESSED DOWN TO ACCELERATE TO MOVE INTO TRAFFIC AND THE TRUCK ACCELERATED AS HARD AND FAST AS IT COULD. I FOUND MYSELF HAVING TO WEAVE THROUGH TRAFFIC LIKE I WAS IN A NASCAR RACE. WHEN I FINALLY FOUND A CLEAR PATH TO THE SHOULDER I SWERVED ONTO IT AND SHUT THE TRUCK OFF. IT WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN AND I COULD NOT SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL. I HAD TO BE GOING ABOUT 60 AT THE TOP OF THE ONRAMP AND WELL OVER 100, PROBABLY FASTER, WHEN I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO SHUT IT OFF. I GOT OUT OF THE TRUCK TO TAKE A BREAK AND CALM DOWN AND UPON RETURNING TO THE TRUCK I NOTICED THAT THE "MUDDER MATS" I BOUGHT FROM A TOYOTA SITE SLIPPED FORWARD ENOUGH TO WEDGE ITSELF UNDER THE GAS PEDAL. I STAY AWARE OF THE POSITION OF THE MAT MORE FREQUENTLY NOW AND KEEP IT SLID BACK BUT THERE IS NO RESTRAINT FOR IT THAT WILL GO THRU BOTH THE FLOOR LINER THAT PROTECTS MORE OF THE FLOOR AREA AND THE MUDDER MAT ON TOP OF IT. Suddenly, I discovered that my fuel tank showing as if it's about to drop on the ground. As I inspected, the fuel tank rear strap broke off the frame due to corrosion. the strap itself was not the issue, part of the corroded frame was still attached to the strap. When I took the truck to my local Mechanic, further inspection showed worse signs of corrosion in the entire frame and in every part connected to the frame as well; suspension parts, brake parts, emergency brake parts, spare tire hinge; etc. Against my disagreement with Toyota dealership, I had the truck painted by Toyota as they recommended during the frame recall in February of 2018. I wanted to replace the frame, based on other professionals advice, but Toyota Dealership insisted that my truck frame is in good shape it ONLY needs the paint recommended by Toyota. I come to find out that they have not remove nor clean any rust and they painted on top of it. Additionally, They never painted the cross members above the tank Now, when I looked under the truck, the paint has coming off in greater areas of the frame showing heavy rust under it. Which means the paint job was a joke, and worthless. Now, after seeing this, I am wondering how can I possibly drive this truck. The tank can drop any time or the spare tire latch can break off, causing a disaster on a highways where I drive. My emergency brake not even adjustable any more due to the heavy rust caused by the frame. Toyota failed to engineer the frame, and later on, failed again to correct their own mistake. contacted the dealer and waited for a month, no response. I called Toyota headquarter and filed a complaint. They respond is that because the recall program has expired there is no further assistance from Toyota. My question to Toyota is, are they going to wait to hear a disaster on one of the highways caused by their faulty equipment and workmanship, or will they take action before it happen. Rear fuel tank strap bracket detached from frame. Bracket appears to have corroded and detached at its frame weld without warning. Tank dropped about 3 inches down at rear and was barely supported by the front tank support strap and the flexible fill hose, which appeared to prevent it from shifting. The fill hose is attached to the tank via a stainless steel clamp. The tank could have dropped from vehicle when I was on the highway, before I was even aware of the issue. I happened to see something sagging when I was walking to my vehicle. It appears that the tank bracket would be very difficult to inspect, and I believe I had the vehicle inspected for a corrosion recall about 2-3 years ago. I was lucky I observed the tank when I did, it may have broken 1 or 2 days before I even noticed it. Attached photo shows the corroded detached bracket assembly. I was able to temporarily resupport the tank under the existing strap.

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE, ESC, AND VSC WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AS I WAS ENTERING THE FREEWAY THEN THE VEHICLE STARTED TO LOSE POWER AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE MORE THAN 60MPH, THE TRUCK WENT INTO A LIMP MODE. I RESET THE ECM BY DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY BUT IT CAME BACK. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71K. THIS ISSUE IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET AND SHOULD BE COVERED BY EMISSIONS WARRANTY. CALLED THE DEALER AND IT IS NOT COVERED BY FEDERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY AFTER 10YRS. NOT GOOD!

I WAS A MECHANIC FOR MANY YEARS AND IF THE FRAME IS NOT STRIPPED DOWN AND SANDBLASTED TO METAL THERE IS NO GUARANTEED METHOD TO STOP THE RUSTING. TOYOTA SHOULD BE MADE TO REPLACE ALL THE FRAMES OTHERWISE IN A FEW YEARS THERE WILL BE MORE BROKEN FRAMES ON THE ROADS. I DON'T KNOW IF YOUR OFFICE WAS INVOLVED IN THE CLASS ACTION SUITE BUT I AM REASONABLE SURE LAWYERS AND JUDGES NO NOTHING OF MECHANICS OR ENGINEERING. I PLAN OF KEEPING MY TRUCK FOR MANY MORE YEARS AND IF THE FRAME FAILS THEN I WILL GETTING LEGAL COUNSEL FOR A RECOURSE TO SOME ENTITY BE IT GOVERNMENT OR COMMERCIAL. UPON CHECKING THE ENGINE CODE P2714 AND P0751 I HAVE COME TO FIND OUT THERE IS AN INTERNAL TOYOTA TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN CIRCULATING THEIR DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENTS DATING BACK TO NOVEMBER 28, 2007 WHEN THIS ISSUE WAS FIRST DISCOVERED. THE BULLETIN IS NAMED TC017-07. ALSO UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION I HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS POSTS ABOUT THIS CODE AND THE EXACT ISSUES MY VEHICLE SUFFERS FROM ON MULTIPLE TOYOTA TUNDRA MESSAGE AND INTERNET CHAT GROUPS. I HAD ALL THE DASH LIGHTS FLASHING AND THE TRANSFER CASE STUCK IN 4WHEEL DRIVE LOW, AN ENGINE MISFIRE AND VIBRATION. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND HE SAID IT WAS AN AIR PUMP VALVE PROBLEM. HE CLEARED THE CODES IN THE COMPUTER AND I DROVE IT HOME. THE NEXT MORNING IT DID THE SAME THING. I TOOK IT BACK AND HE GOT IT RUNNING AGAIN. THE WEATHER HAS SINCE WARMED UP AND IT HASN'T DONE IT SINCE. THAT WAS A COUPLE MONTHS AGO. I FOUND OUT THAT TOYOTA WAS EXTENDING THE WARRANTY TO 10 YEARS AND 100,000 MILES. WHEN THE MECHANIC CALLED TOYOTA ABOUT THE PARTS, THE MECHANIC WAS INFORMED ABOUT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM THREE YEARS/36,000 TO FIVE YEARS/ 70,000. THE MECHANIC WAS ALSO INFORMED ABOUT A DEFECT WITH THE SYSTEM, WHICH CAUSED WATER INFILTRATION, WHICH COULD COMPROMISE THE SYSTEM. THE MECHANIC ADVISED THE CONSUMER TO VISIT THE DEALER. THE DEALER DID CONFIRM THE DIAGNOSIS WAS CORRECT. HOWEVER, THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE WARRANTY ONLY APPLIED TO A FEW STATES AND THE CONSUMERS STATED WAS NOT INCLUDED. I STARTED MY TRUCK UP YESTERDAY JUST RANDOMLY TO GO TO THE STORE. AS SOON AS I STARTED IT A BUNCH OF WARNING LIGHTS WENT OFF. FURTHER RESEARCH ONLINE I FOUND THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH TUNDRA'S WITH MILEAGE BETWEEN 40K AND 60K. MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS WHY THE VEHICLE IS NOT ACCELERATING LIKE IT SUPPOSED TO. MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME CONCERN. THAT IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD TO ME. 7/2007 PURCHASED 07 TUNDRA W/MAINT PLAN&EXTENDED WARRANTY 9/2010 4342MILES SOUTHCOAST TOYOTA-MAINTENANCE,WE ASKED THEM TO TAKE A LOOK AT SURFACE RUST. THEY NOTED IT AND SAID WAS DUE TO SALT AIR 2/2012 6504MILES SOUTHCOAST TOYOTA TO PERFORM BRAKE SERVICE. APPARENTLY BRAKE PAD HAD FALLEN OFF DUE TO CORROSION OF CALIPERS & PINS AND THEY REFUSE TO SERVICE THE TRUCK BECAUSE IT WOULD BE TOO MUCH TO REPAIR BUT REFUSE TO EVEN GIVE US ESTIMATE. THEY SAID THE CORROSION HAS COMPROMISED THE SAFETY OF THE TRUCK, BUT NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. WE WERE TOLD THAT WE DID NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE ENOUGH AND THAT'S WHY IT IS RUSTED SO BADLY ALL OVER (TRUCK WAS DRIVEN LOCALLY AT LEAST 3 OR 4 TIMES A WEEK BY ELDERLY COUPLE). WE REQUESTED A COPY OF FIELD REPS REPORT, BUT THEY SAID IT IS PROPRIETARY INFO WE DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO. SERVICE MANAGER RUDELY ASKED US TO REMOVE OUR TRUCK FROM THE DEALERSHIP BUT WE CANNOT DRIVE IT OFF BECAUSE BRAKES NOT OPERATING PROPERLY. WERE TOLD TO TAKE THE 5 YR OLD TRUCK WITH 6500 MILES TO THE JUNK YARD. HELLO, TWO DAY AGO I WAS PULLING PUT OF MY CONDO COMPLEX WHEN I NOTICED A BURNING PLASTIC SMELL. AFTER ABOUT 20 SECONDS SMOKE AND VERY SMALL FLAMES STARTED TO POUR OUT OF THE DRIVERS DOOR PANEL WHERE THE SWITCHES ARE LOCATED. THERE WAS NO MAJOR FIRE DAMAGE BUT THE CAR WAS FILLED WITH SMOKE AND THE SWITCH THAT OPERATES THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT WINDOW MELTED DOWN. I FORTUNATELY HAD SOME TOOLS NEARBY SO I QUICKLY DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY CABLES AS IT WAS STILL ARCING AND SPARKING. THE ONLY SWITCH THAT WORKS PROPERLY IS THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT WINDOW. 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA, I WAS TAKING MY TUNDRA IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I STARTED LOSING POWER ON MY TRUCK I HAD THEM CHECK IT. TOYOTA CAME BACK AND SAID THAT FUEL VAPOR SWITCHING VALVE WAS STUCK CLOSED, I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER REPAIR SHOP FOR A SECOND OPINION THEY FOUND THAT A SECONDARY INJECTION PUMP WAS STUCK OPEN, THEY SUGGESTED I TAKE IT BACK TO TOYOTA FOR CLARIFICATION. TOYOTA'S SECOND DIAGNOSIS WAS THEY FOUND BOTH AIR INJECTION PUMPS WERE CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED FOR $2100.00. THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW THE DEALER CALLED TOYOTA AND SAID THEY WOULD PAY $600.00 BUT I HAD TO PAY FOR THE REST. I BOUGHT MY 2007 TUNDRA 6/30/2007 RAN GREAT UNTIL AROUND 18,500 MI. AT THAT TIME THE TRANSMISSION STARTED MAKING A BANGING NOISE WHICH IT FELT LIKE THE 05 4 RUNNER. 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA. CONSUMER STATES CRUISE CONTROL DOES ENGAGE AND THEN WILL NOT DISENGAGE BRAKES. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE BRAKES WOULD NOT HOLD AT STOP SIGNS AND THE VEHICLE WOULD MOVE FORWARD. I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA SR5 DOUBLE CAB AND HAVE HAD ALL OF MY REGULAR MAINTENANCE COMPLETED ON TIME AND AT A LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP. I HAVE MADE THE COMPLAINT OF MY GAS PEDAL STICKING AND MY FLOOR MATS WERE NOT AN ISSUE. THEY CLAIM THEY "FIXED" THE RECALL PROBLEM WITH ADDING A PART TO THE GAS PEDAL. SINCE I HAVE HAD MY TRUCK BACK, IT HAS NOT WORKED PROPERLY. THE GAS PEDAL STILL ACCELERATES ON ITS ON OR DECELERATES ON ITS ON. THE GAS PEDAL "FLOATS" WITH YOUR FOOT SO THE ENGINE IS CONSTANTLY MAKING THE RPM'S RISE AND FALL CONSTANTLY UPON RIDING OVER BUMPS OR HILLS. I DON'T WANT A "PART" TO BE INSTALLED, I WANT THE ENTIRE PEDAL TO BE REPLACED! I LIKE MY TRUCK, HOWEVER, THE ENGINE DOES NOT RUN CORRECTLY AND IS CONSTANTLY MAKING A TICKING SOUND LIKE A DIESEL ENGINE WOULD SOUND. I HAVE MADE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE CONSTANTLY TELLING ME IT IS OK AND NOTHING IS WRONG. TRANSMISSIONS ARE NOT MADE TO JUST DOWN SHIFT 3 GEARS RIGHT OFF THE BAT ON THE INTERSTATE ON FLAT GROUND. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO TRY TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM AS THEY PROCLAIM THERE IS NO PROBLEM. I OWN A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA - 4X4. SEVERAL TIMES I NOTICED THAT IT HAD MOVED FROM WHERE I PARKED IT. IT HAD MOVED FROM THE SPOT THAT I HAD PLACED IT AND ROLLED BACKWARDS, DOWN A FAIRLY STEEP GRADE, A DISTANCE OF AROUND 20 FEET. I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO REPLICATE THE INCIDENT AND DISCOVERED THE FOLLOWING: WHEN PARKED ON A HILL WITHOUT THE PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT "LOCK" IN PARK WHILE THE TRUCK WAS IN 2 WHEEL DRIVE. THIS CONDITION CAN BE REPLICATED ONLY WHEN THE TRUCK IS PLACED INTO PARK IMMEDIATELY AFTER HAVING THE ANTI SKID (TRACTION CONTROL) RESPOND TO A SLIPPERY CONDITION. THE PROBLEM DOES NOT OCCUR WHEN THE TRUCK IS PLACED INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE. THE PROBLEM ALSO DOES NOT OCCUR IF THE AUTOMATED ANTI SKID RESPONSE DOES NOT ACTIVATE ITSELF. THE ROLLING DOES NOT ALWAYS BEGIN IMMEDIATELY. I HAVE NOT YET TRIED TO GET THE SAME RESPONSES WHILE BACKING THE TRUCK UP THE HILL IN REVERSE. 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA V-8, 5.7 L. 4 LO LIGHT BLINKS, VSC LIGHT BLINK, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON CONTINUOUSLY ALL THREE OF THESE LIGHTS ARE COMING ON. I CAN TAKE MY BATTERY OFF AND THEY RESET. PER TOYOTA DISCONNECT BATTERY AND IT WILL RE SET. THE TRUCK WILL KICK YOU DOWN TO 40 MPH OR SLOWER WHEN THIS HAPPENS EVEN IF YOU ARE RUNNING 60 AT THE TIME. WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS MY SECONDARY AIR INTAKE. AND A TIRE SENSOR PROBLEM. BUT THAT DOESN'T EXPLAIN THE SUDDEN SURGES IN MOTOR OR DIEING FOR NO REASON. TALKED WITH TOYOTA AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD FIX IT. TO DATE NOT DONE. THIS HAS HAPPENED FOR THE PAST 2 MONTHS. HAVE TO DISCONNECT MY BATTERY SEVERAL TIMES A DAY JUST TO DRIVE MY TRUCK. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT MORE THAN 3 TIMES DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. WENT TO PULL OUT TO CROSS 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC AND IT KICKED DOWN, HAD THE GAS PEDAL FLOORED AND THE TRUCK WOULD BARELY MOVE. MY TRUCK NOW HAS 40,000 MILES AND IT STILL IS NOT FIXED. MY A/C WENT OUT, SAID IT WAS THE FUSE, WHAT ABOUT THE BLOWER MOTOR THAT HAS NEVER WORKED RIGHT, OR THE TRUCK WANTS TO DIE ALL THE TIME, ELECTRONIC START WONT WORK WAS TOLD MY BATTERY WAS NO GOOD YET THEY WON'T HONOR THE BATTERY BECAUSE IT IS NOW OUT OF THEIR WARRANTY DUE TO THEM TAKING SO LONG TO GET IT IN AND HAVING ME TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY ALL THE TIME. TOYOTA CALLED TO DAY AND SAID MY TRUCK WOULD BE DONE IN A COUPLE HOURS, THEN LESS THAN A HOUR LATER THEY SAID IT WOULDN'T BE DONE BECAUSE THEY HAD ORDERED THE WRONG PARTS AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO BRING THEM A BATTERY. *TR

I OWN A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA CREWMAX WITH BLACK CLOTH INTERIOR, AND ITS VERY HARD TO KEEP LINT AND HAIR OUT OF THE CLOTH. I'M AN AUTO DETAILER AND I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY VACUUM IT TO TRY AND KEEP IT CLEAN. I WANTED LEATHER BUT TO GET THAT OPTION IS ROUGHLY ANOTHER $6,000 MORE WHICH IS ALOT WHEN THE WINDOW STICKER OF MY TRUCK WAS ALREADY OVER $37,000. SO IM NOT TO SURE OF HOW THIS WORKS BUT THIS IS A VERY WELL MAINTAINED TRUCK VERY LOW MILES AND YOU CANT DO ANYTHING TO KEEP LINT OR HAIR OUT. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS VEHICLE VIBRATES WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 60-70 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS ON OCTOBER 12, 2007, IN WHICH TWO WHEELS WERE ROTATED AND BALANCED. THE DEALER'S INVOICE DID NOT SPECIFY WHETHER THE FRONT OR REAR WHEELS WERE BALANCED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES, BECAUSE THE VIBRATION PERSISTS. IN ADDITION, BOTH EXTERIOR MIRRORS HAVE A SHARP PLASTIC EDGE AND THE CONTACT'S FOREHEAD WAS CUT WHILE VACUUMING THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO CORRECT THE VIBRATION AND FELT THAT THE CONTACT BEING INJURED BY THE MIRROR EDGE WAS HUMOROUS. THE MANUFACTURER TOOK A REPORT, BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. I OWN A 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA CREWMAX SR5 WITH THE 5.7L V8. I HAVE FOUND THAT WHEN Y APPLYING THE PARKING BRAKE THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH FORCE TO HOLD THE TRUCK IN PLACE ON ITS OWN WHEN ON A HILL. I FIRST NOTICED THIS WHEN I APPLIED THE PARKING BRAKE WITH THE TRUCK IN DRIVE , BUT NOT APPLYING ANY PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL, AND THE TRUCK BEGAN TO DRIVE FORWARD WITH VERY LITTLE RESISTANCE. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THIS WAS HOW THE ENGINEERS DESIGNED IT. THEY DID AGREE TO TIGHTEN IT DOWN FURTHER AT MY REQUEST, AND WHEN THEY TRIED TO SHOW ME THAT IT WAS FIXED, IT AGAIN BEGAN TO DRIVE FORWARD AND THE ONLY WAY TO STOP IT WAS TO APPLY THE NORMAL BRAKE. I WAS THEN AGAIN TOLD THAT IT WAS ONLY FOR ASSISTANCE, AND THAT I SHOULD NOT EXPECT THE PARKING BRAKE TO HOLD THE TRUCK IN PLACE ON ITS OWN. I ASKED HOW IT COULD ASSIST WHEN IT COULDN'T EVEN HANDLE IT ON ITS OWN, AND WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THE TRUCK HAS 381 HP AND THAT'S A LOT OF HP FOR THE TRUCK TO STOP, AND WHEN I SAID THAT IT DIDN'T HAVE 381 HP AT 600 RPMS I WAS LAUGHED AT AND TOLD AGAIN THAT IT WA SONLY FOR ASSISTANCE. *AK

I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND I WENT TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE WHEN I GOT INTO THE NEXT LANE AND ANOTHER CAR CHANGED LANES IN FRONT OF ME AND I WAS FORCED TO SLAM THE BRAKES. THE ABS SYSTEM ENGAGED AND SLOWED VEHICLE DOWN , BUT THE TRUCK FELT LIKE IT WAS BEING PUSHED FORWARD... BY THIS TIME I HAD ENOUGH ROOM IN FRONT OF ME, SO I LET OFF THE BRAKES AND THE TRUCK JUMPED LIKE I WAS HOLDING MY FOOT ON THE GAS. I ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AGAIN. I SLAMMED ON THE Y BRAKES AGAIN AND THE ABS SYSTEM KICKED IN, AND THE TRUCK WAS STILL TRYING TO ACCELERATE, BUT I HELD THE BRAKE HARD ENOUGH THAT I DIDN'T HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. AT THIS POINT I HAD TO DO SOMETHING. I STUCK THE TRUCK IN NEUTRAL AND TRIED TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY. SINCE DAY ONE THAT I HAVE PURCHASED THE TRUCK I HAVE COMPLAINED THAT THE BRAKES DON'T SLOW THE TRUCK DOWN AS IT SHOULD. THAT YOU HAVE TO PUMP IT AT LEAST ONE TIME FOR THEM TO ACT NORMAL WHEN SLOWING DOWN. SOME TIMES IT IS OVER HALF WAY TO THE FLOOR BEFORE YOU STOP. AND THAT IS WITH OUT PULLING A LOAD. WHEN I TALKED TO THE DEALERSHIP (JAY WOLFE TOYOTA OF K.C) WAS TOLD THAT "IT WAS MAGIC BRAKES" , I HAVE HAD TO GO BACK TO THE DAYS OF OLD WHERE YOU GIVE IT A PUMP THEN IT WORKS. I HAVE ALMOST REAR ENDED SEVERAL PEOPLE. THESE BRAKES ARE DANGEROUS. AND I PAID $50,000. FOR THAT. THEY DID NOT CONSIDER THIS TO BE A PROBLEM THAT MAYBE I NEEDED TO GET USE TO THE TRUCK. *TR
