C clips in transmission popped out of place causing damage to transmission. This is a very well known design flaw and could lead to the transmission locking up causing a crash. It is a very expensive repair. I ended up replacing the entire engine with a lower mileage used engine, but this is likely only a temporary repair.

When shifting into higher gears, transmission shifts back to neutral or in neutral, makes a rattling noise. gears appear to be damaged. This can cause a rider to be forced into lower gears and thrown or lose control of the motorcycle. this a know defect of workmanship in the design and install of powertrain. leading victory technicians, mechanics and dealers have admitted this except Polaris.
