MOVING AT APROX. 70MPH ON A STATE HWY. WHEN THE REAR DRIVE PULLEY CAME LOOSE FROM THE REAR WHEEL CAUSING ALL OF THE BOLTS TO SHEAR OFF RENDERING THE VEHICLE INOPERATIVE. FORTUNATLEY THE BIKE WAS ABLE TO BE STOPPED WITHOUT THE REAR WHEEL LOCKING UP. APPARENTLY THIS HAS BEEN A KNOW ISSUE WITH OTHER VICTORY MOTORCYCLES. ACCORDING TO THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE SINCE THE INCIDENT. THE PULLEY WAS INSTALLED WITH POWDER COATING ON THE MATING SURFACE. OVER TIME THE POWDER COAT BREAKS DOWN AND CAUSES THE BOLTS TO BECOME LOOSE. MATING SURFACE BETWEEN THE PULLEY AND THE WHEEL SHOULD HAVE BEEN BARE METAL TO METAL. DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE WHEEL, PULLEY AND SWING ARM. ALL OF THESE PARTS WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED.
