The dash has developed a crack on the passenger side right over the area where the front passenger side airbag is located. This could possibly create a problem in the proper deployment of that air bag. Apparently, this is a common problem with this generation (3rd- '04 to '08) Acura TL. There are many similar complaints by owners posted online going back many years now about this very problem, yet Acura/Honda has apparently never addressed it. They apparently seem content to consider it a cosmetic problem only as several posters/owners have mentioned, rather than addressing the potential safety issue regarding proper airbag deployment. From the numerous reports of other owners found online, it would seem logical to presume that this is a result from a manufacturers defect or design flaw that Acura seems to want to ignore.

2005 ACURA TL, VERY WELL MAINTAINED. JUN 2019, A CRACK APPEARED IN DASHBOARD ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. AIRBAG DASHBOARD LIGHT CAME ON 3 MONTHS LATER AND STAYS ON. DEALER SAID THEY HAD NEVER SEEN THAT BEFORE, BUT NOW I KNOW THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM. LOVE THE CAR, BUT FEEL ACURA NEEDS TO RESOLVE THIS DEFECT. THE RISK OF AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT IS SERIOUS.

I ENTERED MY VEHICLE YESTERDAY MORING AN NOTICED THREE TWO LARGE CRACK ACROSS THE DASHBOARD STARTING AT THE WINSHIELD MOVING TOWARD THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. I DID NOT NOTICE THE CRACKS WHEN CLEANING MY CAR LAST WEEK = SUDDEN EVENT OCCURANCE. A GOOGLE SEARCH INDICATES MANY 2004 TO 2008 ACURA TL'S EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THESE CRACKS EFFECTING THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT PROCESS AND SUBSEQUENT LOSS OF PASSENGER PROTECTION/SAFETY DURING A COLLOSION. GOOGLE SEARCH RESULTS IMPLY THESE CRACKS WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP AND SPREAD ACROSS THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD DUE TO A DESIGN OR MANUFACTURING DEFECT. CAN YOU HELP US?

There are cracks forming on the dashboard of my 2005 Acura TL that I have researched and found are chronic issues in the 2004-2008 TL, and might compromise the ability of the airbag to deploy properly (either prematurely or not at all when expected to imnan accident). I've watched my dashboard go from having 1 crack 5-10 years ago to forming 2 more recently (for a total of 3) and have concerns after researching this as a common defect for the 2004-2008 generation of TL, and yet Acura has not had a recall to fix this completely free of charge to the vehicle owner with no time limitation on when this can be honored. http://www.acuraproblems.com/cracked-dashboard/

Transmission locked up while attempting to backup. Very loud grinding noise. Could not place back in park. Had to shut off engine to free shifter to move back to park. Tried again but this time placed in drive. Exact same results. Checked internet and apparently transmission on this year and others before and after are know problems. Googleand you will see this. POSSIBLE CATASTROPHIC INCIDENT - What would have been the end result having the transmission fail while on the freeway going 60 mph. Possibly could loose control of the vehicle with wheels locking up, cashing into another vehicle or a wall? This should be investigated! THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO REMOVE COMPLAINT, BUT STATED THE DIAGNOSTIC REVEALED THE FRONT AXLE WAS BROKEN.

I WAS BACKING OUT OF A SPOT, AS I USUALLY DO, THE CAR TOOK LONGER THAN USUAL TO SHIFT FROM PARK INTO DRIVE (ABOUT 3-4 SEC). DROVE NORMALLY FOR ABOUT A HALF-MILE, STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, WENT TO ACCELERATE, AND THEN THE TRANSMISSION WOULDN'T COME OUT OF 1ST GEAR AND REVVED SUPER HIGH. PULLED OVER, THEN DROVE TO MY MECHANIC ABOUT A HALF-MILE BACK AT ABOUT 8-10 MPH WITH MY CAUTION LIGHTS ON. HE TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE AND SAID IT SEEMED FINE (I.E. THE TRANSMISSION DIDN'T SLIP), BUT WHAT I EXPLAINED TO HIM SOUNDED LIKE THE ONSET OF TRANSMISSION FAILURE). HE SUGGESTED SOMETHING COULD HAVE GOTTEN LODGED IN THERE AND BLOCKED FLUID FLOW, AND WHEN I TURNED MY CAR OFF AND HE STARTED IT, THAT IT COULD HAVE FALLEN OUT BEFORE HIS TEST DRIVE. EVER SINCE "THE INCIDENT" THE TRANSMISSION IS VERY SLOW UP-SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND AND MAKES A NOISE WHEN DOING SO, AND ALSO IS VERY SLOW SHIFTING FROM PARK TO DRIVE, OR REVERSE TO DRIVE. MY CAR HAS ABOUT 162,000 MILES ON IT. AS OF NOW, NOTHING HAS BEEN REPAIRED ON IT, AND WAS ADVISED NOT TO CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AS THIS OFTEN CAUSES TRANSMISSION FAILURE IN THESE VEHICLES AROUND THIS MILEAGE.

UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FILTER FRACTURED AND DETACHED AND THE DEBRIS CLOGGED THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT IT WAS UP TO THE CONSUMER TO CHANGE THAT SPECIFIC PART OUT, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT LISTED AS A RECOMMENDED PART TO REPLACE IN THE MANUAL. The driver and passenger side mirror lenses will click randomly while driving on the interstate going at a relatively good speed. When these click and move, it causes a distraction and I can no longer see what’s coming next to me. I have to turn the mirror lenses back to their original position in order to view my blind spot.

The dash on the car is cracking, large cracks. The cracks are on the same area of the passenger airbag. In an accident, I am afraid that the airbag section of the dash will not separate correctly and that pieces of the dash will injure the passenger in the car.

In both 2012 and 2014 I complained to Acura CS and was told that they wouldnt do anything for me when their hands free unit refered to in TSB 08-057 This was causing a parasitic power leak draining the battery overnight. After researching the cause online and the solution which was to remove the defective HFL unit which was done. Yesterday I came across that TSB and contacted Acura with my correspondence from 2012, 2014 and the TSB. So far I'm getting the run around. I just want a replacement module for the one that I have kept as a reminder of how I was screwed by Acura. The TSB states all 2005 TL's are affected yet today they had the gaul to say it was no longer in warranty. This is a critical safety item in that it provides hands free utilization of the cellular phone. This came defective from the factory in that I was never able to either connect to the garage door opener or to the phone and was extremely angered by the dealer insisting that I just didnt know what I was doing. I perform surgery in peoples mouths for a living and build and program computers and networks on the side. I know that this module with part number 1135133c1m3m04 or 3qc32dc2 on 2 stickers on back of the circuit board are defective. The TSB only lists what is on the plastic cover to the module and not the module itself. Please verify that these modules are in fact garbage.

A crack has developed on the passenger side of the dash running directly over the location of the airbag located on the same side. This has not resulted in any failure or malfunction as of now, but it raises concerns over the potential given the location. If you research the internet, you will find a plethora of similar complaints and concerns from many other third generation (‘04-‘08) Acura TL owners dating back many years now. In spite of this, Acura/Honda has failed to offer any type of solution or even recognize it for the potential safety issue that it represents. To answer the questions you ask, I have not had it inspected by any dealer, mechanic or insurance representative at this time, nor have there been any warning lights appearing. However, common sense tells me that there is the “ potential “ for a problem given the nature of the crack and its location. Acura/Honda needs to step up and acknowledge and address this issue!!

It happened years ago - the passenger side dash cracked. Now there are more cracks and I am reading that this could pose a risk if the passenger side airbag deployed. I’ve always thought it was a manufacturing flaw for the dashboard to crack in the first place but never did or said anything about it before. Now I am concerned about the safety of my passengers.

I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF A 2005 ACURA TL WITH 49,650 MILES ON IT. WHAT STARTED AS A HAIR LINE CRACK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD IS NOW A SERIES OF SPIDER WEB WALL OF CRACKS ALL THROUGHOUT THE DASHBOARD, IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS. AS OF LATE, THE CRACKS HAVE EXTENDED TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AREA. AND NOW THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT INTERMENTINLY BLINKS ON /OFF BOTH WITH AND WITHOUT A PASSENGER OCCUPYING THE SEAT. THIS IS NOT AN OF WEAR AND TEAR PARTS ISSUE BUT A DEFECTIVE MATERIAL ISSUE BY ACURA. FURTHERMORE, IT IS NOW A SAFETY ISSUE WHETHER THE CRACKED DASHBOARD WILL PLAY IN THE MALFUNCTIONING IN THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. I AM IN FEAR OF GETTING BEHIND THE WHEEL OF MY ACURA TL NOW THAT AIRBAG LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY SWITCHES ON/OFF AT RANDOM SINCE THE APPEARANCE OF THE CRACKS ON THE DASHBOARD.

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A DEALER-CERTIFIED USED 2005 ACURA TL WITH NEW, DEALER-INSTALLED BRIDGESTONE TURANZA EL42 TIRES. IN MY FIRST EXPERIENCE DRIVING THE VEHICLE IN RAIN, I NEARLY LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AT 60 MPH WHEN I HIT A SHALLOW STANDING WATER (~1" DEEP) IN THE ROADWAY. BEING A FRONT-DRIVE VEHICLE, I WAS VERY SURPRISED TO FEEL THE FRONT TIRES DISTINCTLY HYDROPLANE AND CAUSE ME TO ALMOST LOSE CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE. THESE TIRES ONLY HAVE 2,000 MILES ON THEM AND I FIND THEIR LACK OF HYDROPLANING RESISTANCE TO BE WELL BELOW NORMAL EXPECTATIONS AND THEREFORE DISTINCTLY DANGEROUS. *TR

IN JULY THE CONTACT NOTICED THE SAME TIRE WAS LOSING AIR, AND WAS REPAIRED ON DECEMBER 1, 2006. ALSO, THE CONTACT HAD THE TIRES ROTATED, ALIGNED, AND THE TIRE PRESSURE CHECKED. ON DECEMBER 31, 2006, THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AND NOTICED THE VEHICLE WAS SLOWING DOWN . SHE THEN ACCELERATED, BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO SLOW DOWN. MY 2005 ACURA TL HAS 21,000 MILES AND ALREADY THE TIRES NEED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO WEAR. THE BRIDGESTONE TURANZA EL42 TIRES ARE RATED FOR MUCH HIGHER WEAR AND I HAVE NOTICED MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET. SOME ON THIS WEBSITE BUT THE MAJORITY ON OTHER WEBSITES. IN SPRING 2004 I PURCHASED AN ACURA TL WITH BRIDGESTONE TURANZA EL 42 HIGH PERFORMANCE TIRES. AFTER 6,500 MILES ONE OF THE TIRES HAD A FLAT. ALTHOUGH THE GARAGE ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THE FLAT, IT CONTINUED TO LOSE AIR AND I WAS INFORMED THAT I NEEDED A NEW TIRE. IT SEEMED ODD THAT A TIRE WOULD NOT BE REPARABLE AFTER THAT SHORT A USE, BUT I WAS ADVISED THAT IT HAD TO DO WITH THE LOCATION OF THE PUNCTURE AND WAS NOT A DEFECT. IN NOVEMBER OF THIS YEAR, AFTER PUTTING 14,500 MILES ON THE CAR I HAD A MORE SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH ANOTHER TIRE. ON THIS OCCASION, WHILE TRAVELING AT 65 MILES PER HOUR ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, MY CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE. I MANAGED TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND STOP. THE TIRE SIDEWALL HAD DISINTEGRATED AND WAS COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM THE RIM. THE FOLLOWING DAY I TOOK THE TIRE INTO A FIRESTONE SHOP WHERE THE SERVICE MANAGER, TOM CURRY, ADVISED ME THAT THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO A ROAD HAZARD AND WAS NOT A DEFECT. HE INSPECTED THE TIRE FOR A PUNCTURE, AND AFTER NOT FINDING ONE, ASSURED ME THAT IT MUST HAVE BEEN IN THE DISINTEGRATED SIDEWALL. I THEN ASKED HIM IF HE HAD EVER SEEN A TIRE THAT WAS DAMAGED IN THE ABSENCE OF A ROAD HAZARD, AND HE TOLD ME HE HAD NOT. I LOSE POWER STEERING AT VERY LOW SPEEDS, I.E. WHEN TRYING TO PARK OR TRYING TO REVERSE OUT OF PARKING OR MAKE A TURN, BUT ONCE THE SPEED CROSSES 10-15 MPH, POWER STEERING IS FINE. SO FAR IT HAS NOT HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, BUT I'M WORRIED IT MIGHT HAPPEN. I'VE SEEN THIS SAME VERY COMPLAINT BY OTHER ACURA OWNERS IN MULTIPLE FORUMS.

THE VEHICLE INITIALLY RAN INTO AN ISSUE WHERE IT WOULDN'T START APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS AGO IN 2015. I HAVE HAD THE BATTERY REPLACED AT LEAST 4 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 YEARS. DESPITE THE FACT THAT I'VE HAD THE CAR SERVICES AT SEVERAL DIFFERENT SHOPS & HAVE SPENT MONEY REPLACING BATTERIES AS WELL AS OTHER COMPONENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE ELECTRICAL, THE ISSUE CONTINUES TO PERSIST AND THERE ARE INSTANCES WHERE IT WON'T START.

PURCHASED NEW, SINCE 2005 THE VEHICLE HAS HAD A PARASITIC BATTERY DRAIN WHICH CAUSES THE VEHICLE NOT TO START. OVER 10 BATTERIES HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY ACURA DEALERSHIPS OR AAA. I WAS TOLD BY FORMER CERTIFIED ACURA SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE THAT THIS PROBLEM IS WITH THE VEHICLES HANDS FREE SYSTEM CONTROL MODULE. ACURA HAS KNOWN, INTERNET RESEARCH, AND MY CONVERSATION ON THIS DATE 5/9/2016 WITH AN ACURA CUSTOMER REPRESENTATIVE CONFIRMED THAT ACURA HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM SINCE 2004. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WHICH CAN CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STOP MOVING RESULTING IN LOSS OF POWER STEERING, CONTROL, OR POTENTIAL SERIOUS ACCIDENT. ANOTHER SERIOUS FACTOR IS THAT THERE IS NO WARNING SIGN WHEN THE VEHICLE BATTERY WILL FAIL. IN THE EVENT THAT THE BATTERY FAILS WITH OUT ANY WARNING WHATSOEVER IN AN EXTREME COLD, HEAVY RAINFALL, FLOOD CONDITIONS COULD POSSIBLE RESULT IN LOSS OF LIFE. THINK OF THE POSSIBILITIES WITH CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE. THE HANDS FREE LINK (HFL) MODULES HAVE BEEN FAILING RESULTING IN A 200MA CURRENT DRAIN. THIS RESULTS IN THE MODULE SHORTING OUT AND MAY SUBSEQUENTLY RESULT IN A FIRE. I DISCOVERED THIS AS A RESULT OF THE BATTERY DRAINING TO 5 VOLTS OVERNIGHT AS WELL AS A MUCH HIGH THAN NORMAL TEMPERATURE OF THE PLASTIC COVER UNDER THE HFL MODULE. Ball joint purchased from Napa Auto Parts #260-1791was defective. Nut supplied with ball joint was too small. This caused the ball joint to separate from the steering knuckle. After driving a very short distance the front end of the car collapsed, causing the front axle to break. The car fell on the front fender damaging it. This is the same problem reported in 2011. 2005 ACURA TL FRONT SUSPENSIONS HAVE A DESIGN DEFECT WHICH PROMOTES FAILURE TO SUPPORT LOWER CONTROL ARMS AND LEADS TO LOSS OF STEERING. FIRST - THE COMPLIANCE BUSHING FOR THE LOWER CONTROL ARM FAILS ALLOWING THE STEEL CONTROL ARM TO CONTACT THE ALUMINUM SUB FRAME EXTENSION. THE SOFT SUB FRAME MATERIAL IS WORN OUT FROM CONTACT WITH THE HARD LOWER CONTROL ARM MATERIAL. EVENTUALLY, THE EXTENSION FROM THE SUB FRAME LOSES ITS ABILITY TO SUPPORT FORCES FROM THE LOWER CONTROL ARM AND FAILS. I WAS FORTUNATE TO AVOID A CATASTROPHIC EVENT WHEN THIS ISSUE WAS IDENTIFIED DURING AN ANNUAL STATE INSPECTION AND LEAD TO REPLACEMENT OF THE SUB FRAME AND COMPLIANCE BUSHINGS. FAILURE OF THE COMPLIANCE BUSHING IS NOT OBVIOUS TO THE DRIVER TO PROMOTE REPAIR ACTIONS; AS THERE ARE NO AUDIBLE OR DRIVING SIGNALS TO INDICATE THIS HAS OCCURRED. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE BRAKE MALFUNCTION. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HIS WIFE TO THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, TO DETERMINE WHY IT WOULD SUDDENLY BRAKE ON ITS OWN AND LOOSE POWER WHILE DRIVING IN CITY TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE SHUDDERED, BRAKED HARSHLY AND THE THROTTLE RESPONSE WAS NEARLY NON-EXISTENT. THE TECHNICIANS AT THE DEALER, RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON THE VEHICLE AND DECIDED TO REPLACE A BRAKE SWITCH. WHILE RETURNING FROM THE DEALER, THE VSA LIGHT ONCE AGAIN ACTIVATED IN THE SAME MANNER AS BEFORE. WAS DRIVING IN STOP & GO TRAFFIC AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. APPROX 50 MILES LATER WHILE DRIVING AT 55MPH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AND THE ENGINE STARTED RUNNING VERY ROUGHLY. DATE: 08/27/2020 MY 2005 ACURA TL HAS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. THE PASSENGER DASH HAS CRACKED ON BOTH SIDES OF WHERE THE AIRBAG IS LOCATED. THIS ISSUE OCCURRED SLOWLY OVER THE COURSE OF ABOUT A YEAR WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. AS OF A WEEK AGO, THE RED AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT GOES ON AND STAYS ON (BY THE SPEEDOMETER) WHEN A PASSENGER SITS IN THE FRONT SEAT. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE AND THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF ACURA TL OWNERS THAT HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THE DASH ON THE PASSENGER SIDE CRACKING AND MANY HAVE FILED COMPLAINTS WITH THE NHTSA AND HAVE CONTACTED ACURA. EVEN THOUGH ALL OF THE OTHER ACURA TL MODEL YEARS THROUGH 2014 WERE PART OF THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL, FOR SOME REASON THE 3RD GENERATION ACURA TL MODEL YEARS 2004 - 2008 HAVE NOT BEEN RECALLED DUE TO THE TAKATA AIRBAG ISSUE. I HAVE READ THAT IT MAY BE DUE TO ACURA NEEDING TO REMOVE THE DASH IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS, AND THAT THEY DON'T WANT TO INCUR THE EXPENSE OF REPLACING THE ENTIRE DASH. ACCORDING TO SEVERAL ACURA TL OWNERS, REPLACING THE DASH COSTS BETWEEN $1,000 - $2,000 (FOR THE OWNER) AND DOESN'T TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE SAFETY ISSUE REGARDING HAVING THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DAMAGED DUE TO THE CRACKS IN THE DASH AND HUMIDITY GETTING IN. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS THE CRACKS COULD AFFECT DEPLOYMENT OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG, OR CAUSE IT TO DEPLOY WHILE DRIVING AND CAUSE INJURY TO THE PASSENGER OR THE DRIVER. ACCORDING TO MANY POSTS I HAVE SEEN ONLINE, THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER 5 YEARS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS SAFETY HAZARD AND NOTIFY ACURA. IT'S BEEN ONGOING FOR 5 YEARS! THE AIRBAG ISSUE HAS TO TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT MY DASHBOARD IS CRACKED, HORRIBLY, EVEN THOUGH MY CAR HAS BEEN GARAGED AND PROTECTED FROM THE SUN MOST OF THE TIME SINCE I BOUGHT IT IN 2011. 1. HFL LHAS CONTINUOUSLY DRAINED SEVERAL BATTERIES SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2008. I ALSO JUST PURCHASED A 2007 ACURA TL S AND WHILE I WAS SITTING AT THE DEALERSHIP INPUTTING THE RADIO INFO AND ATTEMPTING TO CONNECT WITH TO THE HFL LINK THE BATTERY BECAME COMPLETELY DRAINED IN LESS THAN 10 MIN. THE HFL HAS NOT WORKED IN THE 2005 SINCE I BOUGHT IT AND IT DOES NOT WORK ON THE 2007 EITHER. I HAVE A SEPARATE COMPLAINT FORM FILLED OUT FOR THAT CAR. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT'S A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH ACURA TL, BUT NOT A RECALL YET. IT SHOULD BE A RECALL. 2. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERING RACK AND PUMP AFTER THE ACURA RECALLED THE HOSES, BUT I WAS TOLD THAT THE HOSES HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH MY ISSUE. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE STARTER, THE HEADLIGHT COMPUTER UNIT, AND BOTH IGNITORS IN THE HEADLIGHT. I AM ON MY THIRD BATTERY IN 2 YEARS AND NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHY MY BATTERY IS CONTINUOUSLY DYING. ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO, THE BLUETOOTH SYSTEM ALL OF A SUDDEN STOPPED WORKING. IN THE LAST YEAR, MY DASHBOARD HAS STARTED TO CRACK FROM THE DRIVER TO THE PASSENGER SIDE, AND THE DAMAGE IS MUCH SEVERE AND PROMINENT OVER THE AIR BAG AREA. I WAS TOLD BY ACURA SUPPORT THAT IT SHOULD NOT CAUSE ANY PROBLEMS TO THE AIR BAG, AND THE AIR BAG SHOULD DEPLOY APPROPRIATELY WITH NO PROBLEMS. IN THE ACURA 3.2 MOTORS, THE CYLINDERS HAVE OIL RELEASE HOLES THAT ARE NOT SMOOTH WHICH IS CAUSING METAL SHAVINGS TO GET STUCK, SHAVE AND DAMAGE THE CAM SHAFTS AND CAUSE MOTOR FAILURE. THEY ARE CAUSING SERIOUS GROOVES ON THE OUTER 2 CAM BEARINGS THAT HAVE THE LARGER RELEASE HOLES. MY MOTOR FAILED DUE TO THIS. I WAS DRIVING, CAR STOPPED RUNNING, I THOUGHT MY TIMING SLIPPED. ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSOR (AP SENSOR) SUFFERED A SUDDEN AND CATASTROPHIC FAILURE AS I WAS MERGING ONTO A HIGHWAY. THIS CAUSED THE CAR TO LOSE ALL PROPULSION, AS THE ENGINE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND IMMEDIATELY WENT TO IDLE. I HAVE A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN WITH MY 2005 ACURA TL. IN APRIL, 2010, THE ACURA DEALER REPLACED BROKEN COMPLIANCE BUSHINGS DURING A ROUTINE SERVICE (82,000 MILES). AFTER THE SERVICE, I IMMEDIATELY NOTICED MY CAR FELT UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND HAD A VERY ROUGH RIDE. AFTER NUMEROUS DEALER VISITS, THEY REPLACED THE REAR STRUT ASSEMBLY. NONE OF THIS IMPROVED THE HANDLING OR RIDE. AT THIS TIME, THE DEALER STATED I HAD THE WRONG TIRES AND NEEDED TO REPLACE THEM WITH ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MICHELIN PILOT MXM4 TIRES. I HAD NEARLY NEW MICHELIN PILOT SPORT A/S PLUS TIRES AND NOT EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM PRIOR TO THE REPLACEMENT OF THE BUSHINGS. I CHECKED AT COSTCO, WHERE I PURCHASED THE TIRES, AND THEY INDICATED THAT MICHELIN PILOT SPORT PLUS TIRES WERE AN ACCEPTABLE UPGRADE FOR MY VEHICLE. THE OWNERS MANUAL DOES NOT MENTION THAT THE ACURA SUSPENSION REQUIRES TIRES ONLY PURCHASED AT THE DEALER. ON NOV. 8, 2010, DURING A ROUTINE SERVICE VISIT, THE DEALER NOTED FINGERNAIL SIZE CHUNKS OF RUBBER PEALING OFF MY 2 FRONT TIRES. THEY RECOMMENDED I IMMEDIATELY CHANGE THEM SINCE THEY WERE UNSAFE. COSTCO AGREED TO PRORATE AND REPLACE THEM WITH THE DEALER RECOMMENDED TIRE. I NOTIFIED THE DEALER OF THE PURCHASE AND THEN WAS TOLD THAT MICHELIN MADE SPECIAL TIRES ONLY AVAILABLE AT THE ACURA DEALER. DRIVER SWERVED TO AVOID CAR TRYIN G TO MERGE INTO SAME LANE. FRONT AND REAR LEFT TIRES HIT THE MEDIAN CURB ( APRROX 6" MAX HIEGHT). THE RIMS ARE THE STANDARD FIVE SPOKE MAGS THAT COME ON 2005 ACURA TL. IMMEDIATLEY AFTER HITTING THE CURB - AT A VERY OBLIQUE ANGLE - THE RIM BROKE. THE SPOKES OF THE FRONT RIM BROKE LOOSE FORM THE PART OF THE RIM THAT FORMS THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE. ALL 5 SPOKES BROKE IN THE SAME PLACE. THE SPPKES AND CENTER OF THE RIM STAYED BOLTED TO THE LUGS. THE TIRE AND THE REST OF THE RIM CAME LOSSE FROM THE CAR AND PASSED AHEAD OF THE CAR. WHEN THE FRONT TIRE BROKE FREE FROM THE CAR SEVERAL THINGS HAPPENED. THE CAR SETTLED DOWN ON THE SPOKES OF THE MAG RIM, THIS IMPACT SET OFF THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAGS AND CRACKED THE BRAKE CALIPER ON THE FRONT LEFT. BRAKING WAS NOT EFFECTIVE AT THIS POINT. TRUNK LID SPRINGS DO NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT TENSION, SUCH THAT WHEN WE OPEN THE TRUNK ON EVEN A SLIGHT HILL THE TRUNK LID MAY STAY UP FOR A FEW SECONDS, BUT SLAMS SHUT EITHER IMMEDIATELY, AFTER SOMETHING OF WEIGHT IS PUT IN THE TRUNK, OR IF A BREEZE COMES UP. THIS HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES TO MY WIFE AND ME, RESULTING IN THE TRUNK LID HITTING OUR HEAD OR SPINE WITH SUFFICIENT FORCE TO CAUSE SIGNIFICANT PAIN AND A WOUND. IF THIS HAPPENED TO A YOUNG CHILD, IT COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY. ACURA REPLACED ONE SPRING WITH A STRONGER ONE, BUT THAT HAS DONE ALMOST NOTHING TO HELP. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALER ALSO CHECKED OTHER '05 ACURA TL MODELS AND THEY DID THE SAME THING. HE ACKNOWLEDGED IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SAID HE WOULD REPORT IT TO ACURA. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO MAKE ANY FURTHER ADJUSTMENTS TO THE SPRINGS. I COMPLAINED TO ACURA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THEY HAVE HAD SIMILAR REPORTS. HOWEVER, THEY SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE A SUFFICIENT NUMBER TO JUSTIFY A RECALL OR TO EVEN COME UP WITH A SOLUTION. THUS I AM CONTACTING YOU. MY 2005 ACURA TL EL42 BRIDGESTONE REAR TIRES WENT COMPLETELY BALD ON A 3000 MILE TRIP(19000 MILES TOTAL) FROM DALLAS TO COLORADO AND BACK. IT APPEARS THAT THERE IS A SUSPENSION/TIRE PROBLEM WHERE THE REAR ALIGNMENT UNDER FULL LOAD OF 2 PASSANGERS AND LUGGAGE IN THE TRUNK DEGRADES AND CAUSES SEVERE TIRE WEAR. While I was driving 55 mph, on the throttle, the transmission acted as it was in Neutral but all indicators verified it was in Drive. The RPMs were fluctuating during this & my car wouldn't accelerate. I was in the middle of a busy highway, the car came to a stop, I shifted it into Park, then tried to engage back into Drive with no success. In the middle of oncoming & ongoing HWY traffic, I turned the car off, back on & the car acted as if it was in limp mode. The VSA light & Triangle appeared. I had to pay get a towing service to get me & my car. It never had any transmission issues before & all of a sudden it did all of the above, erratic shifting, flare up shifts, won't move. It was then put on a diagnostic scanner which showed a code for Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid but was cleared & didn't reappear. After the car has been sitting for a while (days) you can crank it, put it into drive & it is hesitant to go & will drive ONLY for a few minutes. After the transmission heats up, it stops pulling. I have read numerous complaints, safety concerns, bulletins, etc. I am devastated & lost on what's going on with the car & what can be done. I purchased my '05 TL in 2022 & haven't been able to drive it but for one & a half years. I've put so much money into the repairs & maintenance. I replaced the rear & front motor mounts, transmission speed sensor, transmission position sensor, etc. I am now disabled & don't have the means to put into it anymore. I pray there's an investigation behind these Drive train safety concerns!

My wife, [XXX] , purchased a 2005 Acura TL on [XXX]. The car was not inspected, it had a hole in the oil tank, was leaking battery acid, had broken control arms, wore out rotors, wore out brake pads, bald tires, Vehicle Stability Control disabled, no AC, cracked dashboard where the passenger air bag is located, and the alignment was so bad that the car would try to pull very hard off of the road. Toxic hot fumes entered the cockpit during my wife's drive home from the car dealership. The fumes made her feel sick and gave her a horrible headache because of the leaking battery acid and perhaps the hole in the oil tank. It's a health and safety issue that needs to be taken seriously. The used car dealership (Premium Auto Outlet Inc.) is selling vehicles to customers and are not providing them with the title. My wife paid in full, yet she had to fight to receive the title. The employees scream at there customers, including my wife and also tell them to leave the property when asking for the title and when confronted about vehicle mechanical issues. The female employee even screamed over the phone at our mechanic (Delran Auto Repair) who tried to tell the employee that the car was not is sellable condition due to the safety and mechanical problems. Please review the Google reviews and Facebook reviews for more horrible customer experiences when it comes vehicles being sold in horribly unsafe mechanical condition, withholding titles, unlawfully repossessing, screaming at customers and ignoring customer complaints. The best resolution for my wife and I would be for the dealership to pay for all of the repair bills that accrued (roughly $4K) due to the car being sold in unsafe condition and most importantly the prevention of any health and safety issues due to the selling of unsafe mechanically condition vehicles to future customers. The contact owns a 2005 Acura TL. The contact stated that she had parked her vehicle and went inside a store as her children waited inside the vehicle. Her son then texted her from inside the vehicle that the alarm had gone off. Soon after the alarm went off, her daughter noticed that both white and black colored smoke began to emit from the vehicle. Her children exited the vehicle as the front end of the vehicle caught fire. Pedestrians called for the authorities and both the police and fire departments arrived at the scene. The fire was extinguished and an incident report was filed. No injuries were reported; another vehicle was damaged as a result of the fire. The vehicle had yet to be towed or removed from the scene of the incident. Prior to the failure, the contact had noticed that while driving at highway speeds, heat would emit from vents despite the A/C being turned off. Upon investigation, the contact linked her failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 08V091000(Steering). The dealer nor the manufacturer had been notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 200,300.

2005 ACURA TL- PARKED WINTERS, GARAGED, BABIED AND ALL SERVICE COMPLETED AT THE ACURA DEALERSHIPS. CAR HAS 141,000 ON IT AND WAS NEAR 50,000 WHEN PURCHASED (ASPEC PACKAGE ETC). CAR HAS DEVELOPED CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD FROM THE WINDSHIELD TO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, ACROSS THE CENTER SPEAKER AND NOW DIRECTLY ON THE INDENTATION WHERE THE AIRBAG IS LOCATED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. REACHED OUT TO ACURA FOR ASSISTANCE ((ATTACHED)) AND THEY SAID THE CAR IS TOO OLD AND OUTSIDE WARRANTY TO HELP ME. IRREGARDLESS OF THE FACT I HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN IT TO ACURA AND ONE LOOK AT THE CARS EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR *PAINT AND LEATHER INTERIOR* SHOWS THAT THIS CAR HAS BEEN SPOILED. THE DASHBOARD IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR THIS GENERATION AND EVEN MADE THE NEWS FROM COMPLAINTS. I AM NOW CONCERNED THAT THE AIRBAG WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY OR CAUSE HARM DUE TO THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF THE DASHBOARD BEING ALTERED DUE TO SHODDY CRAFTSMANSHIP THAT IS NOT BEING BACKED UP BY ACURA. I HAVE ALSO RAISED CONCERN THAT THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY ARE BOTH CRACKING AND DISCOLORED. SRS LIGHT CAME ON IN DASHBOARD. DIAGNOSTICS INDICATED FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT BUCKLE (NO CONTINUITY). ACCURA WARRANTY STATES, "WILL REPAIR OR REPLACE ANY ACURA SEAT BELT COMPONENT THAT FAILS TO FUNCTION PROPERLY DURING NORMAL USE. THIS INCLUDES ALL PARTS AND LABOR CHARGES. COVERAGE CONTINUES FOR 15 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. CAR IS LESS THAN 15 YEARS OLD AND HAS 139K MILES. THE DEALER REPLACED THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY COSTING $429 AND SAID I HAD TO GET WARRANTY CLAIM FROM ACURA HQ. I CONTACTED ACURA CLIENT RELATIONS (CASE # 100009213) AND WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE THE SEAT BELT WAS NOT DEFECTIVE. HOW A CALL CENTER REP OVER THE PHONE COULD TELL ME WHAT WAS OR WAS NOT WRONG WITH THE SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY IS A MYSTERY. FURTHER, HE SELECTED THE SENSOR AS A COMPONENT THAT HE SAID WAS NOT WORKING AND HE DID NOT CONSIDER THAT A COMPONENT OF THE SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY. THE ISSUE IS THAT ACURA CAN'T SELECTIVELY DEFINE WHAT IS AND IS NOT A COMPONENT AFTER STATING IN THE WARRANTY, "REPAIR OR REPLACE ANY ACURA SEAT BELT COMPONENT THAT FAILS TO FUNCTION PROPERLY...." THE WORD, "ANY" BY DEFINITION MEANS NOT SPECIFIC OR PARTICULAR. THE SAFETY ISSUE IS THAT ACURA HAS NOT MET ITS OBLIGATION TO ENSURE THAT THE SEAT BELT COMPONENTS ARE FUNCTIONING PROPERLY WITHIN THE STATED TIME PERIOD.

THE AIRBAG SEAT BELT SENSOR OR LIGHT IS ON ALL THE TIME IT'S COMMON FOR THESE TYPES OF VEHICLES OF 2004 TO 2008. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE RESOLVED, I WAS TOLD IT WASNT UNDER WARRANTY OR A RECALL BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS OLDER THAN 10 YEARS, BUT CLEARLY ON THE WEBSITE IT SAYS UNDER 15 YEARS IT SHOULD BE COVERED. I WANTED TO CLEAR THIS UP WITH ACURA SERVICE DEPARTMENT BUT THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME ABOUT $600 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND ALMOST $2000 FOR REINSTALLING AN AIRBAG AND SENSOR, WHICH I SAW ONLINE IT'S A RECALL BUT MY CARS VIN SAYS I DONT HAVE A RECALL. MY 2005 ACURA TL HAS LOST POWER AT LEAST A DOZEN TIMES WHILE I HAVE BEEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. THE BATTERY ALSO COMPLETELY DRAINS AFTER THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN DRIVEN FOR A DAY OR TWO. I JUST REPLACED THE BATTERY AND HAVE HAD THE ALTERNATOR TESTED AT LEAST HALF A DOZEN TIMES BY 3 DIFFERENT MECHANICS. MY ISSUES SOUND VERY SIMILAR TO THE FUSE BOX RECALL BUT MY VIN DOES NOT FALL UNDER THE RECALL APPARENTLY.

FAILUER OF THE FRONT ALUMINUM FRAME WAS OBSERVED ON MY CAR DURING A STATE INSPECTION BY AN OBSERVANT TECHNICIAN. THE COMPLIANCE BUSHING IN THE FRONT STRUT ASSEMBLY FAILS WITHOUT GIVING THE DRIVER AN AUDIBLE OR DRIVING SIGNAL. THIS CREATES METAL ON METAL CONTACT BETWEEN THE STRUT AND ALUMINUM FRAME - WEARNIG THRU THE ALUMINUM FRAME ARM EXTENSION WHICH SUPPORTS THE METAL ROD TO THE WHEEL. THE ALUMINUM FRAME WILL EVENTALLY FAIL CAUSING LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. THIS WOULD BE LIFE THREATENING AT HIGHWAYS SPEEDS. I HAD TO HAVE THE ENTIRE FRONT FRAME ASSEMBLY REPLACED TO MITIGATE THIS RISK.

I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE, AND HAVE ROUTINE MAINTENANCE PERFORMED ON IT AT REGULAR INTERVALS. ON JULY 23, 2018, APPROXIMATELY 4:15PM, I WAS EXITING VIA REVERSE FROM A PARKING SPACE AT A LOCAL SHOPPING CENTER. I SHIFTED THE CAR INTO DRIVE, PROCEEDED FORWARD AT A SPEED OF 3MPH, FOR LESS THAN TEN FEET TO MAKE A SLIGHT LEFT TURN, WHEN THERE WAS THE SOUND OF BREAKING METAL, AND THE CAR CAME TO A HALT. THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE, FOOT ON GAS, BUT WOULD NOT MOVE. I STRUGGLED TO SHIFT THE GEAR INTO PARK, THEN RESTARTED. THE CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO DRIVE, WITH GREAT DIFFICULTY I GOT IT INTO REVERSE, THEN ROLLED BACKWARDS INTO A HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE. THE GEAR WAS NOW STUCK IN REVERSE, AND KEY WAS LOCKED IN IGNITION. I IMMEDIATELY APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, TURNED ON HAZARD LIGHTS, AND EXITED THE VEHICLE. I PLACED PHONE CALLS TO A TOWING COMPANY, AND MY MECHANIC. UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS DETERMINED "THE DRIVER'S FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY SNAPPED IN TWO. THE AXLE SHAFT HAD RUSTED UNDERNEATH THE VIBRATION DAMPER. THE PASSENGER FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY LOOKED RUSTED". AT MY DIRECTION, THE MECHANIC REPLACED BOTH FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLIES. BOTH MYSELF AND THE MECHANIC SEARCHED FOR A RECALL, OR EVEN AN UPDATE TO THE MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE/SERVICE, BUT FOUND NOTHING. CAR AXLES SHOULD NOT RANDOMLY SNAP IN HALF. I HAVE HAD ABSOLUTELY ZERO ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE LEADING UP TO THE EVENT. THANKFULLY, NO ONE WAS HARMED WHEN THIS OCCURRED. HAD I BEEN TRAVELING IN A DRIVE LANE, WHETHER IT WAS IN THE SHOPPING CENTER OR INTERSTATE, NO DOUBT THERE WAS GOING TO BE A CATASTROPHIC SITUATION, RESULTING IN BODILY HARM AND VEHICLE DAMAGE TO MYSELF AND OTHERS. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM THE ORINGINAL OWNER 11-17. HE DIDNT INFORM ME OF ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE. THREE DAYS AFTER PURCHASE I HAD A DEAD BATTERY. THEN I NOTICED THE SPEEDOMETER AND TACH WOULD STOP WORKING WHEN I WAS DRIVING, ALSO THE VSA WARNING LIGHT WOULD COME ON WHEN I WAS DRIVING. I SEARCHED ON LINE AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT MY SAME PROBLEMS, AND THAT THE DEALER WAS NO HELP AT ALL. I TRIED DISCONNECTING THE HANDS FREE LINK, BUT I STILL HAD A DEAD BATTERY THE NEXT DAY. THE ONLY SOLUTION I HAVE FOUND IS TO DISCONNECT MY BATTERY EVERY DAY WHEN I COME HOME. ALSO, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, IT FAILED TO START AND THE KEY IMMOBILIZER INDICATOR FLASHED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS I HAVE APPLIED THE BRAKES TO EITHER COME TO A STOP OR TO DECELERATE THE CAR, AND THE RESULT HAS BEEN A SHARP INCREASE IN ENGINE REVOLUTIONS AND RESULTANT TORQUE. IN SHORT THE CAR WANTS TO LURCH FORWARD. THIS EVENT HAS HAPPENED TO TWO DRIVERS OF THIS VEHICLE. THERE HAS BEEN A TIME WHEN APPROACHING A LIGHT AND THE ENGINE DID NOT REV UNTIL THE CAR WAS AT A COMPLETE STANDSTILL, AND ANOTHER WHEN THE ENGINE REVOLUTIONS SHARPLY INCREASED THE MOMENT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ACTUATED. THE INCIDENT WAS FIRST REPORTED TO THE DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT ON JANUARY 16, 2009. THE CAR WAS TEST DRIVEN BY AN ACURA TECHNICIAN AND THE INCIDENT DID NOT REPLICATE ITSELF. THE BRAKES WERE FOUND TO BE FINE. NO CODES WERE FOUND. THE TECHNICIAN ALSO CHECKED ACURA TECH LINE FOR SIMILAR CONCERNS AND FOUND NONE. THE ACURA TL WAS BOUGHT IN AGAIN AFTER THE LATEST INCIDENCE, FEBRUARY 8, 2010 AND AGAIN A TEST DRIVE WITH A TECHNICIAN DID NOT REPLICATE THE CONDITION. NO TROUBLE CODES WERE STORED IN MEMORY. IN EVERY INSTANCE THIS EVENT HAS OCCURRED THE ONLY SOLUTION HAS BEEN TO BRING THE CAR TO A COMPLETE STOP REGARDLESS OF HOW HARD THE CAR WANT TO LURCH FORWARD, OR IF THERE IS TRAFFIC AROUND, PUT THE TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL, AND TAP THE ACCELERATOR. IN EARLY JULY, 2009, ONLY ABOUT 17 MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT AFTER I MADE MY INTIAL PURCHASE, AND LESS THAN A YEAR AFTER I BOUGHT THE REPLACEMENT 4TH TIRE, THE SIDEWALL BEGAN TO DETERIORATE (ON THE NEWER 4TH TIRE) AND THE TREAD BEGAN SEPERATING FROM ONE OF THE OTHER 3 TIRES. HAD MY MECHANIC (DOING A BRAKE JOB) NOT NOTICED THE DEFECT, I COULD'VE EASILY HAD A BLOW-OUT AND SERIOUS INJURY. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE TIRE STORE WHEN I BOUGHT ALL 5 TIRES. THEY INSPECTED THE TIRES AND FOUND THAT ALL 4 WERE DEFECTIVE. THEY CALLED GOODYEAR/DUNLOP (I SPOKE WITH MARY IN THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT.) GOODYEAR/DUNLOP ACKNOWLEDGED THAT ALL 4 REMAINING TIRES WERE DEFECTIVE AND INITIALLY DEMANDED $200 TO REPLACE ALL 4 OF THE DEFECTIVE DUNLOP TIRES (WHICH I ORIGINALY PAID $1,000 FOR). TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 ACURA TL. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN NOVEMBER OF 2007, IT BEGAN IDLING ROUGHLY AND THE ENGINE VIBRATED. A FEW MONTHS LATER, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60-65 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WOULD NOT RESTART. APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES LATER, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND THE CONTACT DROVE TO HIS RESIDENCE. LATER THAT WEEK, THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO BUILD UP IN THE FUEL INJECTOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD CRANK SLOWLY IN THE MORNINGS. HE RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE BATTERY WAS DEFECTIVE. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURES PERSISTED. THE OXYGEN SENSOR, FUEL RATIO SENSOR, AND THE ALTERNATOR BELT WERE ALL REPLACED. MICHELIN PILOT HX MXM4 TIRE FAILURE COMPLAINT AGAINST ACURA AND MICHELIN TIRE CORPORATIONS**CC THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE DISLODGED COMPLETELY OFF OF THE RIM. THE PORTION OF THE TIRE WHICH COMES IN CONTACT WITH THE ROAD SURFACE COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM THE REMAINDER OF THE TIRE. THE DISLODGE PORTION OF THE TIRE PASSED COMPLETELY OVER IN FRONT OF THE CONSUMERS VEHICLE AND PROCEEDED TO ROLL IN THE PATHWAY OF THREE ADJACENT LANES OF TRAFFIC. THE CONSUMERS VEHICLE WAS DAMAGE DUE TO LOOSING SOME CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. THE TIRE WAS INSPECTED BY A TIRE DEALER AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS PUNCTURE TO THE TIRE OR ANY PRIOR DAMAGE TO THE TIRE, IT WAS CLEARLY A DEFECT WITH THE TIRE. THE CONSUMER ALSO EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW. THE REGULATOR AND MOTOR WERE REPLACED.*JB

WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH AND USING THE NAVIGATOR SYSTEM, THE SYSTEM DIRECTED THE DRIVER TO MAKE A LEFT TURN INTO A GUARD RAIL. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO AVOID FROM DRIVING INTO THE GUARD RAIL. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. *NM THERE WERE AT LEAST TWO PLACES ON THE TURNPIKE WHERE THE NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM WOULD DIRECT PEOPLE TO TURN INTO THE GUARDRAIL PER CONSUMER. *SC *JB
