Hi, I have had a couple instances where the engine revved up between gears. Both times, I remember it happening rather soon after starting off from a stop sign. I didn't pay it much mind, but noted it. Just today, I asked my wife ([XXX]) whether she had noticed anything with the car. I purposely didn't ask any leading questions. She said a few times it would jump instead of smoothly going to the next gear. In Seaside, OR, I started to pull out onto [XXX], planning to take a right and head south bound. There was a Southbound car approaching from the North, but I had plenty of time to pull out and get up to speed. Immediately after starting out, the car popped into neutral and the RPMs raced. I already had some momentum and was on the highway, so I couldn't brake, and because it went into neutral, I hadn't finalized my turn so I was still pointing SE. As the car quickly approached, all I could do was use what little momentum I had and continue into the Northbound lane so the oncoming car could pass. Because of the slight slope to the Northbound shoulder, I was able to slowly come to a stop. I put the car in Park, turned it off, then back on, and everything came back to normal. I cannot begin to express how scared I was. I have lost brakes before in a car, but I know to use the emergency brake. I was completely dumbfounded as to how to react. Had there been oncoming traffic, it would have been an awful accident. Why is there no recall on this? I researched on Google and found a recall on 2015 Acura TLX 6-cylinder transmission due to a bad wiring harness on their 9-Speed transmission. Transmission is failing after taking it in for service after noticing a chirp from 2-3 and 3-4 gear.these symptoms are described with service bulletin 17-027 .dealership claimed transmission warmer was good but replaced the seals. In Acuras own document they said the warranty would be extended to ten years.

The transmission is slow, hesitant and jerky in models with the v6 engine. I almost got into a major car crash due to the transmission’s very hesitant behavior. Other owners have experienced this slow and clunky transmission behavior, after looking in many online forums. The transmission has been way since the vehicle first came out but Honda still has not addressed the issue with the 9 speed transmission. This poses a huge safety risk to me and all other owners.

Upon braking, when coming to a full stop, the transmission (ZF 9-speed automatic) makes a very hard downshift into 1st gear and causes the car to lurch forward. This issue appears to be worsening over time. The car is becoming more and more difficult and dangerous to drive due to this issue. The car was very recently brought into an Acura dealership (DCH Montclair Acura) to address this issue. They replaced the transmission fluid and conducted a general software update, but this issue continues to persist as before.

The contact owns a 2015 Acura TLX. The contact stated while driving at various highway speeds, the transmission randomly shifted into the neutral causing the vehicle to lose automotive power, decelerate, and failed to accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. During the failure several messages were displayed including the "Transmission Failure" message. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the transmission shifter was faulty, and a transmission computer software update was needed. The vehicle was repaired; however, immediately after retrieving the vehicle, the failure reoccurred. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 115,000.

My 17 year old son drove across town about 6-7 miles from home, on a back road. Out of nowhere, his 2015 TLX started to make a sound like knocking or thumping. Just moments afterwards, most if not all of the engine warning lamps illuminated at once.. He pulled off as best he could there was a loss of power and massive amounts of steam pouring out from the under hood. At sunrise I went to the car to wait for AAA I was astonished at the mess on the pavement under and around the car, and even more surprised to hear from my mechanic told that the engine had seized. I remember my mechanic using the word "warped" to describe it to me. I had him replace the engine, as I was I unaware of the recall at that time. It was not inspected by anyone besides my mechanic.

Connecting rod bearing seizure leading to engine failure on the TLX 2018 engine 3.5 liter V6 engine. Our 2015 TLX Acura we had to replace our engine because of the connecting rod bearing seizure and our extended warranty covered it around 2020. In 2023 the second the Acura motor which is TLX 2018 engine 3.5 liter V6 failed due to same problem, connecting rod bearing seizure. Acura will not do a recall on that motor. They say because its was manufacture in a different warehouse its not covered or a problem. I know there are other people struggling with the same issues on the 2018 engine. I know there are other investigations on this motor.

Three years ago, the car started stalling at traffic lights coming to a stop battery was replaced and the problem went away. A new battery was installed a few months ago and in the last week the same stalling situation has occurred three times. Acura says there’s a software update, and when the car was brought in for the recall on the connecting rod bearings, they said they refreshed the software pertaining to this issue, but obviously it does not work others say that it has to do with the idle stop and that disabling it resolves this problem. I haven’t tested this yet, but I am going to, but it’s an ongoing problem. That’s a major safety concern and could cause a fatal accident.

As I was driving my 2015 Acura TLX the status indicator on the dashboard started flashing all sort of messages, VSA, transmission, park, so on and so forth. Atleast 5-10 different messages displayed and all sorts of warning lights showed up. The vehicle then shifted to Neutral (N) and flashed N repeatedly. I was able to pull off the road safely but I was unable to put the car in Park, Drive, Reverse. I was only able to use the parking brake and shut the car off. I tried turning the vehicle on twice and both times it was in Neutral. After letting the car sit for 30 minutes I tried starting it again and at that point the vehicle was in park and only displayed approximately 3 messages; I was able to drive the vehicle again. I’ve owned this vehicle for 10 years and it’s gone into Neutral once before. I’ve also had the vehicle display multiple messages while driving. The vehicle was drivable with the few messages and after a few days the messages went away and functioned normally.

While driving, the vehicle shift into neutral unexpectedly, causing the transmission indicator to come on and OTC. Was going downhill when it happened but luckily I got off the road and went into a residential neighborhood to park. It was left on Neutral and could not shift to any gears. I put the emergency brake so the car wouldn't move down. I later found out after the car was towed that I was able to shift gears due to turning off the vehicle. The car was in motion then shifted into a different gear . I didn’t have have control of the gears. A digital “check transmission” warning flashed on the car dashboard. After 2 hours I removed the terminal from the battery in order to move the car. The car stopped in the middle of the road during this problem. Someone could've hit me from behind with my children in the car . One car was close enough to hit me but ended up swerving into a ditch to avoid hitting my car . I spoke to Marietta Acura Dealership in GA and was told there was no recall on my car .

Subject: Complaint - Safety Recall Failure (#23V75100) - Engine Failure Summary: This is a complaint regarding a failure of the safety recall repair performed under Recall #23V75100, which addressed a rod bearing issue that can cause engine failure. Details: 1. On or about April 4, 2024, Southern Acura of Newport News, VA replaced the long block under Recall #23V75100 after the original engine failed at approximately 130,810 miles. 2. On or about September 5, 2024, at approximately 173,722 miles, the replacement engine failed again. 3.The vehicle is currently located at Hall Acura of Virginia Beach, VA. , where the dealership has verified that the engine is seized and available for inspection. 4. The failure occurred while driving at approximately 70 mph in a construction zone, where there was no immediate shoulder or safe area to pull off. The sudden loss of power nearly caused a rear- end collision. 5.An independent service center, American Pride - Fort Eustis in Newport News, VA., also verified the problem and found metal shavings and bearing metal coming from the oil pan. 6. There were no warning lamps or alerts prior to the engine failure; all warning lights illuminated only after the loss of power

I took my car to an Acura dealer because there was a noticeable increase in engine noise upon starting and at lower engine rpms. The dealer identified that the problem was related to a recall - NHTSA # 23v-751. He also informed me that it may be 3-4 months before Acura is ready ro rectify this problem. The problem has serious consequences and I would like Acura to rectify it much sooner.

My car shifts itself into neutral automatically at times while I am driving. It has even happened on the interstate. When this happens it also flashes lots of warning signals on the dash and will be stalled for 4-5 minutes, engine will not shut down, just cannot shift into reverse or drive. The Acura dealership had it all day and they were stumped so they did a software update. I have read this exact problem has happened with other Acura's this same year and model and it was crimped wiring harness of the transmission.

WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT OR TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT, OCCASIONALLY THE CAR WILL FAIL TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS PRESSED. THE ENGINE APPEARS TO GO TO AN IDLE SPEED FOR 1-2 SECONDS AND THEN THE CAR ACCELERATES. THIS HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE LOCAL DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES BUT THEY (AND ACURA) ARE UNABLE OR UNWILLING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE SENT THEM VIDEO OF THE TACHOMETER DROPPING TO ~900RPM WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THEY STATE THERE ARE NO ERROR CODES OR INFORMATION THAT INDICATES ANYTHING IS WRONG. THIS SEEMS TO MATCH SAFETY PROBLEMS 11121786, 10775339, 10695446, AND 10694812. ANOTHER PROBLEM THE VEHICLE HAS IS A SHUDDER IN THE TRANSMISSION AT CERTAIN SPEEDS. SHIFTING TO A DIFFERENT GEAR MAKES THE SHUDDER GO AWAY. DEALER STATES THIS IS JUST HOW THE TRANSMISSION WORKS. TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AROUND 51K MILES. OLD TRANSMISSION DID NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. DEALER SAID A FLUID CHANGE MIGHT HELP. IT DID NOT.

The contact owns a 2015 Acura TLX. The contact received notification of a manufacturer’s recall: 2062837681, for the crankshaft bearing, and took the vehicle to the dealer for the repair. The vehicle was repaired; however, three weeks after the repair, the vehicle started making a knocking sound while accelerating or while idling. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that oil was leaking from the vehicle and that the timing belt needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. After retrieving the vehicle from the dealer, the contact became aware that oil was still leaking from the vehicle, with an abnormal odor coming from the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 122,312.

The contact called on behalf of the owner of a 2015 Acura TLX. The contact's son received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V751000 (Engine and Engine Cooling), and the vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer had cancelled all three recall repair appointments because a technician was not available to repair the vehicle. Most recently, the contact's son was informed that the vehicle needed to be inspected to determine whether the recall repair was needed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The vehicle owner had not experienced a failure.

The contact owns a 2015 Acura TLX. The contact stated that while her grandson was driving approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact called for tow truck service, but the tow truck driver was unable to shift the transmission into neutral(N). The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, and the contact was informed that the mechanic was unable to work on the engine and transmission failures. The contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer and was informed that there would be a cost for the vehicle to be diagnosed. The contact requested a diagnostic test and was informed by the dealer that there was a hole in the oil pan, causing engine oil to leak out and causing the vehicle to stall. The contact had called the Insurance Company about the hole in the oil pan and was advised to have the oil pan and engine inspected. The dealer found that the hole in the oil pan had been caused by a fractured crankshaft that punctured the oil pan. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 73,000.

The local dealer and an unknown dealer were contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

The contact owns a 2015 Acura TLX. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine compartment, after which the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The driver was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle failed to restart. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the connecting rod bearings, resulting in engine damage. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V751000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); and the VIN was included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 80,000.

This issue is with the start-stop system. The car fails to restart after it the car stops and the engine shuts off. The car has been serviced twice for this issue. The battery and a cable were replaced at my expense. This resolved the issue for a few months, but it returned again in February of 2022. The battery was replaced under warrantee at that time. This issue has now returned again July, 2022. In at least two of the instances I felt I was extremely at risk as the car was stalled in busy intersections forcing traffic to make emergency stops be hind me or take evasive actions to avoid hitting my car. The normal starting procedure to start the car did not seem to work. There was nothing to indicated to me that there was an issue.

Car has feature that kills engine when at full stop. Car fails to automatically restart, often stalling at intersections and causing a dangerous situation. Car has to be turned off and restarted, a process that can take 15 to 30 seconds. With a brand new battery and/or full charge, the car performs flawlessly. It appears that the electrical demands of the car system exceed the ability of the battery and alternator to meet demand. I currently have an AGM battery less than two years old. We typically have 1 to 3 incidents per month where will forget to disable the auto start system, and the car stalls in busy traffic when at a full stop. We bought the car used in 2017, and this problem has been consistent throughout ownership. Dealer answer is that there is nothing wrong with car.

CONSTANT BATTERY DRAINING FROM UNKNOWN ISSUE WITHIN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. I AM CURRENTLY ON MY THIRD CAR BATTERY AFTER PURCHASING MY CAR IN JANUARY 2016 WITH 108 MILES ON THE CAR. I HAVE BEEN USING A PORTABLE BATTERY JUMPER FOR THE LAST MONTH BECAUSE OF THIS ON GOING ISSUE. THE CAR WOULD NOT START AFTER PARKING OVERNIGHT AND HAVE CAUSED A DISTURBANCE IN MY LIFE BEFORE COMMUTING TO AND FROM WORK, ALONG WITH TO COVID19 VACCINATION APPOINTMENTS. ANOTHER ISSUE IS THE AUTO START/STOP FUNCTION WHEN PRESSING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AT A RED LIGHT WHERE THE ENGINE IS SUPPOSE TO TURN OFF AND BACK ON IN ORDER TO BE GAS EFFICIENT. I HAVE BEEN FORCED TO TURN OF THE FEATURE DUE TO THE CAR DYING COMPLETELY IN AT A RED LIGHT AND CAUSING A TRAFFIC JAM. IT HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND HAVE CAUSED ADDITIONAL INCONVENIENCE IN MY DAILY COMMUTE. I BELIEVE BOTH ISSUES ARE RELATED AND IT IS AN ISSUE WITH ACURA DUE TO MULTIPLE INDIVIDUALS ACROSS THE COUNTRY WHEN I HAVE DONE RESEARCH WITHIN ACURA TLX FORUMS.

SOY BASED WIRING PLACED IN VEHICLE BY ACURA MANUFACTURE CAUSES AN ATTRACTION TO RODENTS, SQUIRRELS, MICE TO EAT THE WIRES. THE RODENTS ARE ATTRACTED TO THE TASTE OF THE MATERIAL. SINCE JANUARY OF THIS YEAR 2020 I HAVE SUSTAINED DAMAGE THREE TIMES TO MY 2015 ACURA TLX WHICH COST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO REPAIR. THIS SOY BASED MATERIAL IS BEING PLACED IN THE NEWER MODELS TO SAVE ON COST FOR THE MANUFACTURER, BUT LEAVE COSTUMERS, LIKE MYSELF, AT A DEFICIT OF MONEY AND TIME FOR REPAIRS. IT IS ALSO UNSAFE, BECAUSE ONE NEVER KNOWS WHEN THE CAR WILL STOP RUNNING OR IF IT WILL EVEN START. I HAVE BEEN EFFECTED BY THIS IN JANUARY OF 2020, MARCH 2020 AND AGAIN IN MAY 2020. I ALSO OWN A 2015 HONDA ACCORD AND MY HUSBAND A 2009 TOYOTA THAT ARE PARKED IN THE SAME AREA AND NO SUCH DAMAGE HAS OCCURRED TO THESE OLDER MODEL CARS. THE CORPORATE OFFICE IS AWARE OF THE SOY BASED MATERIAL, BUT REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. IF THIS SOY BASED MATERIAL WAS NOT PUT IN THE CARS TO BEGIN WITH THEN RODENTS WOULD NOT BE ATTRACTED. MY OLDER CARS STAND AS A TESTAMENT AS WELL AS MY NEIGHBORS CARS THAT ARE NOT AFFECTED. THERE ARE OTHER NEWER MAKES OF VEHICLES THAT ARE NOTED IN RESEARCH THAT ARE BEING EATEN BY RODENTS DUE TO SOY. THIS HAS CAUSED ME TIME AND MONEY AND WAS NEVER DISCLOSE TO ME UPON PURCHASE. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED AND CONSIDER THIS A DANGER TO MYSELF BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW IF OR WHEN THE CAR WOULD STOP WHILE I'M DRIVING. I FOUND OUT ALL THREE TIMES UPON ATTEMPTING TO START MY CAR IN THE MORNING WHILE ON MY WAY TO WORK. I GOT MESSAGES THAT TOLD ME TO "PARK THE CAR, CHECK ENGINE, CHECK TRANSMISSION"... I CONSIDER THIS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT AND WHILE I MAKE CAR PAYMENTS I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE. MY CAR IS A 2015 ACURA TLX THAT I JUST PURCHASED IN JANUARY OF 2019 CERTIFIED PREOWNED. THE CAR HAS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WHERE THE CAR DIES COMPLETELY AFTER IT COMES TO A STOP (NUMEROUS TIMES) AND IT CAN BE TURN ON FOR A FEW MINUTES. THERE HAS BEEN INCIDENTS WHERE I HAVE COME CLOSE TO BE HIT IN THE REAR OF THE CAR (BY OTHER CARS) BECAUSE THE CAR WON'T RE-START IMMEDIATELY. DEALERS HAVE TRY TO FIX THE PROBLEM BUT THE SITUATION REMAINS THE SAME.

My vehicle has only 36526 miles. The brake pedal goes down to 2 inches from the floor and is a major traffic hazzard. I have attempted numerous times unsuccessfuly to make an appointment with Elite Acura in Maple Shade, NJ No answer at Service Dept. Today, 6/8/21, I contacted Acura Customer Relation and the Rep. could not contact Elite Acura as well. She did assigned case # 12275613. This is traffic accident waiting to occur. Can you help me?

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 ACURA TLX. THE CONTACT STATED THE CHECK ADMISSION AND THE CHECK PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHTS INTERMITTENTLY ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS (SCANLON ACURA LOCATED AT 14270 S TAMIAMI TRAIL, FORT MYERS, FL 33912) BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DETECT THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.

MY WIFE WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT IN WHICH OUR CAR GOT T-BONED ON THE DRIVER SIDE. MY WIFE WAS COMPLETELY BLINDSIDED AND ALL THE AIRBAGS ON THE DRIVER SIDE DEPLOYED AND WHEN SHE SAW THE SMOKE SHE THOUGHT THERE WAS A FIRE SO SHE TOLD MY MOTHER IN LAW TO QUICKLY GET MY 2 YR. OLD CHILD OUT OF HER CAR SEAT. MEANWHILE HER MOM WAS IN THE BACK TRYING TO GET OUT OF A MOVING CAR WHICH SHE THOUGHT WAS ON FIRE. SINCE THE CAR STARTED ROLLING BACK INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC MY MOTHER IN LAW WHO WAS HOLDING MY DAUGHTER GOT DRAGGED ALONG THE PAVEMENT WITH MY DAUGHTER IN HER CHEST BECAUSE HER LEG GOT STUCK IN THE CAR. SHE FINALLY GOT OUT OF THE CAR AS IT WAS ROLLING PAST THE MIDDLE OF THIS BUSY STREET BUT THE CAR KEPT ROLLING BACK UNTIL EVENTUALLY THE BACK BUMPER ROLLED INTO ANOTHER CAR. MY WIFE SWEARS SHE PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND HAS NO IDEA WHY THE CAR STARTED ROLLING BACK AND OBVIOUSLY SHE WOULDN'T GET OUT OF A MOVING CAR SO YOU KNOW THE CAR HAD COME TO COMPLETE STOP. WHEN WE CALLED ACURA TO REPORT THIS ISSUE THEY CHALKED IT UP TO MY WIFE LEAVING THE CAR IN NEUTRAL BUT THE CAR WAS NOT SMASHED ONTO A HILL AND THE ROAD WAS FLAT. FURTHERMORE WE FOUND ONLINE THERE ARE PARKING BRAKE ISSUES WITH THE TLX BUT THE ACURA REP STATED THE RECALL WAS NOT FOR OUR VIN#. MY DAUGHTER AND MOTHER IN LAW COULD HAVE DIED FROM THIS ISSUE BUT ACURA REALLY DIDN'T SHOW ANY CONCERN.

THE PAINT ON THE ACURA TLX IS DEFECTIVE. ACURA HAS RECALLED THE PHANTOM BLUE PEARL PAINT FOR PEELING AROUND THE REAR WINDOW BUT WON'T RECALL THE BELLANOVA WHITE PEARL FOR THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. I'VE SPOKEN WITH DEALER AND THEY AGREE IT'S A DEFECT IN THE PAINT. ACURA CLIENT RELATIONS WERE ABSOLUTELY NO HELP. I PERSONALLY KNOW OF 40/50 OTHER OWNERS WITH THE EXACT ISSUE. I WAS ACCELERATING FROM 40 MPH TO 50 MPH WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED ACCELERATING, BEEPED, AND STARTED FLASHING ALL SYSTEM ERRORS IN ORANGE ON THE DASH DISPLAY. THE EXACT SAME ERROR JUST OCCURRED FOR A SECOND TIME WHILE I WAS ACCELERATING AND MERGING INTO A BUSY HIGHWAY LANE. CAR IS AGAIN AT THE DEALER FOR ALMOST A WEEK AND COUNTING. WHILE IT HASN'T CAUSED AN ACCIDENT YET, THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I WAS NEARLY REAR-ENDED WHEN MY CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING AND STARTED DECELERATING ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER 3 TIMES (FEB 2018, JULY 2018 AND NOV 18) FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. EACH TIME THE VEHICLE STALLS AND MUST BET INTO PARK AND RESTARTED WHEN AT A STOP SIGN, STOP LIGHT OR STOPPED FOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION ON THE HIGHWAY. THE AUTOMATIC IDLE CAUSES THE CAR TO STALL. On a number of occasions, a warning light came on stating "Passenger Airbag Off". Each time there was someone (usually my adult wife or daughter weighing 112lbs to $125lbs respectively) sitting in front seat in a correct position. The issue was first noticed about 2+ years ago. I had mentioned this to our dealership during an inspection but there was no firm explanation to the cause, or if it was really serious or not. They seem to indicate it was just a sensor glitch and that if there was a crash the system would work properly. I am not sure if they tested the car with a person in the front seat, and if they did, they may not have reproduced the issue because it doesn't happen with every drive. It happens sporadically. This issue happened again last week on a major interstate highway in the middle of a long drive with my wife in front seat. Again, the warning light came on "Passenger Airbag Off." About 15 or 20 minutes later it went off during the drive. Fortunately, there were no crashes, and therefore no injuries with any of these occurrences. Today I received a NHTSA safety recall notice from Audi of America on my 2nd car, which is a 2016 Audi A3, prompting me to make this report. The Safety Recall is 69BY - Passenger Occupant Detection System (PODS). (NHTSA: 21V198). This Audi safety notice describes "perfectly" what is happening with my 2015 Acura TLX. As in this report, the issue is sporadic, but happens fairly frequently when someone is in the front seat. Perhaps the Acura PODS is produced from the same company as the one in this Audi safety recall? In any case, I am fearful of having anyone in my front seat now. Since there is not a formal recall for my Acura, what recourse do I have so I can use my vehicle as intended? Thank you

I WAS GIVEN A FORD FOCUS UNTIL THE SUMMER OF 2016 WHILE MY BRAND NEW ACURA IS PARKED IN MY DRIVE WAY SINCE MARCH 2016 WHILE I AM MAKING A $398 MONTHLY CAR PAYMENT ON A BRAND NEW ACURA ILX THAT I CANNOT DRIVE UNTIL MID OR LATE SUMMER OF 2016. CAR HAD NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT OR OTHERWISE DAMAGED PRIOR.ACURA MECHANIC COULD NOT EXPLAIN HOW THE STEERING COLUMN GOT CRACKED OTHER THAN I RAN OVER SOMETHING WHICH HAD NOT HAPPENED BECAUSE HAD I RUN OVER SOMETHING TO DAMAGE THE COLUMN, THE LIGHT WOULD HAVE ILLUMINATED TO INDICATE THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. THE DEALER WAS INFORMED THAT THE CAR HAD BEEN PARKED IN MY GARAGE WHEN IT STOPPED STEERING AND THAT PRIOR TO THIS THE CAR WAS EASILY PARKED IN A 2 CAR GARAGE THAT ALREADY HAD MY HUSBAND'S CAR IN IT. NO LIGHTS INDICATING THERE WAS A PROBLEM HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN ON AND ONCE THE LIGHTS CAME ON THE CAR WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER. THEREFORE, IT HAD TO BE TOWED FROM MY GARAGE. ACURA REFUSED TO REPAIR THE STEERING COLUMN INSISTING THAT IT WAS CAUSED BY PHYSICAL DAMAGE. A COMPLAINT WAS FILED WITH THE CORPORATE OFFICE AND WHEN THE INVESTIGATOR CALLED, SHE ASKED NO QUESTIONS. SHE ONLY CALLED TO INFORM ME THAT THE $3000. PART WOULD NOT BE COVERED BECAUSE OF PHYSICAL DAMAGE. ANOTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT IT WAS LIKELY THE STEERING COLUMN HAD BEEN CRACKED FOR A WHILE BEFORE IT COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING AND IT WAS A STRONG POSSIBILITY THAT THE STEERING COLUMN CRACKED OVER TIME DUE TO SOME MALFUNCTION OF THE PART. IN HIS ESTIMATION, THE CRACKED PORTION OF THE STEERING COLUMN IS WELL PROTECTED AND DIFFICULT TO BREAK UNLESS INVOLVED IN A SERIOUS FRONT END CAR ACCIDENT IN WHICH THE CAR HAD NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. RUNNING OVER SOMETHING WOULD NOT HAVE LIKELY CAUSED THE TYPE OF DAMAGE SEEN ON THE STEERING COLUMN.

AFTER SEVERAL SECONDS, A GRINDING NOISE IS HEARD FROM THE BACK AND THE CAR SHAKES. AFTER THAT HAPPENS, THE CAR DRIVES NORMAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT SLOW SPEEDS, HIGH SPEEDS, GOING AROUND CURVES, AND DRIVING STRAIGHT. I HAVE GONE OFF THE ROAD ONCE BECAUSE OF THIS. While driving on the freeway/highway my vehicle went into limp mode and shifted into neutral. My vehicle would not allow me to shift gears and the car would not let me accelerate anymore. I had to think quickly and move out from upcoming traffic. With little speed I had on my vehicle I could only shut down the car and wait for a tow truck. This happened to me twice in 2020 and the mechanics could not find any issue or replicate what had happened. They said this was a software issue. I was still scared to drive my car thinking this would happen again. Then 2 years after ( 2024) again this happened and it was when I was on the freeway. Luckily I was on the left side and was able to stop on the shoulder but stressing out and still traumatized from what occurred 2 years ago. I took it to the dealer and same thing they could not replicate the issue and did re programmed the software. I believe this car is not safe to drive at all knowing this can happen again and again at random times. The attached document is what the dealer gave me stating this remedy was done to the vehicle. This need to be investigated.

When the vehicle is running in driveway and I then get into it a few minutes later and drive around the corner, when coming to a stop it jerks as if it wants to stall. This happens when I am driving as well and slow down, it’ll jerk and push me forward a little and happens daily so not sure why my vin didn’t come up with a recall because it sounds a lot like the fuel pump issue the one recall mentioned.

The cars dash lights all keep coming on and I lose all power to the vehicle while driving. Check engine light and serveral others will illuminate and continue to flash the warning signs. Car takes what seems like forever to then get back into gear and drive. All of the lights stay on even after shutting the car off and turning back on.

THERE HAVE BEEN A COUPLE OF INCIDENTS WHERE I WILL BE DRIVING AND MY CAR SUDDENLY JOLTS AND COASTS TO A STOP. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THE CAR IS BEING PLACED IN NEUTRAL WHILE I AM DRIVING BECAUSE WHEN I PRESS ON THE GAS. IT WILL JUST REV THE ENGINE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL TURN ON AS WELL. For some time now, before I was aware of this service, my car warning lights indicate that there is an issue with my forward collision, my lane departure, and the lane keeping assistance. It further indiscretion to clean my front windshield. I do so, but the warning still remains. Then some time will pass and the warning goes off. This warning happens sporadically, even giving impression of some hesitation while accelerating, and other times with drag when breaking. I made mention ofv this concern once to my dealership, but they said because it was now out of warranty, the check for the problem world cost $200. But now after reading of similar issues with other cars on this site, I will pursue a check on it.

ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER BOUGHT I NOTICED MY 2015 ACURA TLX 3.5L V6 JERKED SIGNIFICANTLY BETWEEN GEARS 1-3. I HAVE A ONE-HOUR COMMUTE EACH WAY IN STOP-AND-GO FREEWAY TRAFFIC, AND THE PROBLEM IS HUGELY ANNOYING. FREQUENTLY IT JERKS SO HARD THAT MY HEAD HITS THE HEADREST REPEATEDLY. I FEEL LIKE SOMEONE REAR ENDING SLOWLY, AT THE END OF MY COMMUTE, I'M WIPED OUT FROM ALL THE JERKING BACK-AND-FORTH. THE DEALER SAYS ACURA IS CALLING THIS "A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE" FOR WHICH THERE IS NO FIX. APPARENTLY I JUST HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT; EVEN THOUGH ACURA HAS EXTENDED-THE WARRANTY FOR 10 YEARS OF PERIOD SEEMS LIKE ACURA DEALERSHIP DOESN'T REALLY WANNA DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I WENT FEW ACURA DEALERSHIPS AND SHOW THEM THE RECALL NOTICE WHICH RECEIVED IN THE MAIL STILL SERVICE ADVISORS REFUSING DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE FOR FREE ALL THEY TELLING IS CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND PAY FOR THE DIAGNOSES. MY CAR ENGINE WAS OVERHEATED DUE TO ATF COOLANT FAN MALFUNCTION EVEN THOUGH ACURA HAD A RECALL ON ATF COOLANT, ACURA DEALERS MADE ME PAY $900. THIS CAR WILL DEFINITELY BE MY LAST ACURA IF THIS ISSUE DOES NOT GET RESOLVED. I HAVE A 2015 ACURA TLX 4CYL. IT IS A VERY NICE LOOKING CAR HOWEVER THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I HAVE TAKEN IT INTO THE ACURA DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE CONFIRMED THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG HOWEVER THEY ARE NOT SURE WHAT. ALL THEY TELL ME IS THAT THERE ARE NO CODES COMING UP TELLING THEM WHAT IT IS. THEY JUST TELL ME THAT EVERYTHING IS DOCUMENTED SO IF AND WHEN THERE IS A RECALL I HAVE PROOF THAT IT HAS BEEN ONGOING. WHEN YOU ARE STOPPED AND THEN PROCEED TO GO THE CAR WILL JERK AND HESITATE TO SHIFT TO NEXT GEAR. THIS CAN HAPPEN WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING ALSO, IF YOU HAVE TO BRAKE AND THEN START AGAIN. STARTING IN NOV 2019 MY ACURA TLX STARTED TO SPONTANEOUSLY DECELERATE AND LOSE ENGINE POWER WHEN IN MOTION. ERROR CODE OF P0087 WAS PROVIDED BY ACURA OF MILFORD, CT AND WAS HIGHLY SUGGESTIVE OF REPLACING HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP. THE ENGINE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED IN EARLY DEC 2019 HOWEVER THE CAR CONTINUED WITH LOSS OF POWER, TERRIBLE GAS MILEAGE, POOR ACCELERATION AND MULTIPLE WARNINGS ILLUMINATED. ACURA OF MILFORD WAS CONTACTED AND THEY NOTED IT MAY BE THE OTHER FUEL PUMP THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SECOND IN TANK FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED MID DEC 2019 WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. THE CAR WAS BROUGHT TO ACURA DEC 31, 2019 AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING TO BE FOUND, THEY RESET THE P0087 CODE AND DID A HARD RESET. THE CAR STILL CONTINUED WITH THE SAME SYMPTOMS BUT NOW WITH A HUMMING NOISE PRESENT. IN FEB 2020, THE FUEL RAIL AND SENSOR WAS REPLACED, YET STILL NO IMPROVEMENT. THE CAR WAS TAKEN BACK TO ACURA AND ONCE AGAIN THEY RESET THE ERROR CODE AND NOTED THEY ONLY FOUND CORROSION NEAR THE SENSOR AND THEY CLEANED IT OFF. CAR WAS DRIVING MUCH WORSE NOW AND IF IT LOSS POWER IT WOULD NOT START UP UNLESS CRANKED 15-25 TIMES IN A 10 MIN WINDOW. MARCH 2020 THE SPARK PLUGS WERE REPLACED AND THE CAR IS STILL NOT DRIVING RIGHT, ALL SYMPTOMS STILL PRESENT AND THE HUMMING NOISE IS GETTING LOUDER. THIS CAR HAS LOSS POWER WHILE IN MOTION RANDOMLY IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC, BOTH ON STREET AND MOST DANGEROUSLY ON THE HIGHWAY, EMBARRASSING BUT THANKFUL TO SOME GOOD SAMARITANS THAT HAVE EXITED THEIR VEHICLE TO PUSH ME SAFETY ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. ACURA CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEMS YET JUST RESETS THE ERROR CODE AND SENDS ME ON MY WAY TO CALL IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING FREQUENTLY SINCE NOV 2019 AND NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHAT THE ISSUE IS, EVEN AFTER I HAVE SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TRYING TO FIX THIS CAR BASED OFF THEIR GUESSES.

The car is constantly throwing codes for faulty emissions system problem and parking brake problem but the car runs fine. The dealership will not do anything unless I pay them a fee to diagnose it and then they suggest replacing the catalytic converter even though it’s very likely a faulty fuel hose or faulty sensor. SEVERAL TIMES, ALL OF THE LIGHTS WOULD FLASH ON THE CAR TO CHECK ALL OF THE SYSTEMS AND THEN THE CAR WOULD SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS MID DRIVE MOSTLY WHILE IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD BUT SOMETIMES ON A MAJOR PARKWAY. AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR THE CAR WOULD START BACK UP. I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO START THE CAR OR CHANGE GEAR WHILE IT WAS SHUT OFF. I HAD THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR CHECKED AND THAT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. I TOOK IT TO THE REPAIR SHOP AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP. I RESEARCHED ONLINE AND SAW SEVERAL 2015 ACURAS WERE RECALLED WITH THIS ISSUE BUT NOT MY VIN NUMBER. I HAVE PICTURES THAT I TOOK WHEN IT WAS LAST FLASHING IF THAT WOULD BE HELPFUL.

I was merging on to the freeway going about 60mph, with traffic right behind me. Car started decelerated and the dash board lit up. A car behind me had to swerve to avoid hitting me. I put on my hazard lights and tried to move to the shoulder the car was only going about 5mph at the time. I turned the car off and restarted to see if it would move, but it was still going about 5mph. After doing this a couple of times I was able to get the car the move at about 20 mph. The dash board is still lit up.

I LEASED MY ACURA TLX V6 ADVANCED 2 WHEEL DRIVE STARTING IN SEPTEMBER 2014. RIGHT AWAY, WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK I STARTED NOTICING PERFORMANCE ISSUES. THIS VEHICLE HAS AN EXTREMELY HARD SHIFT BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD GEAR, CAUSING THE CAR TO LURCH FORWARD UNEXPECTEDLY. IT IS PARTICULARLY NOTICEABLE IN "SPORT" MODE. IT HAPPENS MORE CONSISTENTLY IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, WHICH COINCIDES WITH A SITUATION THAT ALLOWS FOR LESS REACTION TIME. IT ALSO HAS SERIOUS ACCELERATION HESITATION THROUGHOUT ALL SPEEDS. THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE SITUATIONS WHERE WHILE MERGING IN TRAFFIC OR ACCELERATING ONTO A MAJOR HIGHWAY I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS UNRESPONSIVE. MY CAR HAS BEEN INTO ACURA TWICE SO FAR FOR THIS ISSUE. THE FIRST TIME I WAS TOLD IT WAS A "KNOWN" ISSUE BUT THERE WAS NO FIX. THE SECOND TIME I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR THE SAFETY RECALL ACURA "CHANGED OUT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID" WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO HELP - AND IT DIDN'T. I HAVE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT NEXT WEEK FOR THE SAME ISSUES. ACURA CLIENT CARE ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM BUT THAT ACURA CORPORATE DOES NOT HAVE ANY SOLUTIONS AND IT MUST BE TAKEN UP WITH THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP JUST ACKNOWLEDGES THE PROBLEM AND SAYS TO TAKE IT UP WITH ACURA CORPORATE. THIS IS A DANGEROUS DRIVING SITUATION AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE. MY LAST VISIT AT THE DEALERSHIP AND A TEST DRIVE WITH DISTRICT MANAGER(DM) YIELDED: A) THIS IS PERFECTLY NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THE NEW 9-SPEED TRANSMISSION. A FEATURE THAT COMES WITH WONDERFUL FUEL ECONOMY. B) VIBRATION FROM VCM (VARIABLE CYLINDER MANAGEMENT). I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE UNTIL THE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. YET AGAIN, DEALERSHIP STATES IT IS PERFECTLY NORMAL TO SHOW THIS 'CHARACTERISTIC'. DM'S RESPONSE TO MY QUESTION, "HOW/WHY DID I NOT EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE ON MY FIRST FULL YEAR?" THE TRANSMISSION IS EXTREMELY JUMPY, ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS COME ON AND FLASH, ALONG WITH THE ENGINE WILL POWER DOWN TEMPORARILY. THE WARNING LIGHTS REMAINED FLASHING BUT THE ENGINE FUNCTIONED BUT THE TRANSMISSION STILL WAS JERKY. THIS WAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 5 SEPARATE TIMES AND WE HAVE HAD IT IN SERVICE WITH ACURA SEVERAL TIMES AND EACH TIME THEY TRY TO FIX THE SAME COMPLAINTS WITH A DIFFERENT FIX. MOST RECENTLY WE HAD IT IN FOR REPAIR FOR A WEEK, WE GOT IT BACK, DROVE IT 200 MILES AND THE SAME ERROR HAPPENED. ACURA FINALLY AGREED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AND I JUST PICKED IT BACK UP ON 1/6/17 AND THE SAME ERROR AND TRANSMISSION ISSUE OCCURRED TODAY. WE HAVE NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP, THE NMVB, ACURA CUSTOMER RELATIONS, AND NOW WE ARE REACHING OUT TO THE NHTSA. WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE AND WE ARE AFRAID THAT THE TRANSMISSION WILL IDLE DOWN AGAIN ON THE FREEWAY BUT MAYBE IN A LANE THAT WE CANNOT IMMEDIATELY PULL OVER SAFELY.

I JUST TURNED ON TO THE HIGHWAY, AND THERE WAS NOT A CAR AROUND ME. I STARTED TO ACCELERATE AND THEN THERE WAS A HUGE SOUND, ALMOST LIKE A GUN SHOT. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND NOTICED THAT MY SUNROOF WAS COMPLETE SHATTERED WITH A GAPING HOLE IN THE MIDDLE OF IT. I WAS COMPLETELY DUMBFOUNDED BECAUSE I WASN'T UNDERNEATH A BRIDGE OR ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE CLEAR BLUE SKY. THERE WERE NO CARS AROUND ME TO SAY AN OBJECT HIT IT EITHER. JUST COMPLETELY SHATTERED FOR NO REASON. THE BEST PART IS THAT ACURA REFUSES TO REPLACE THE SUNROOF WHEN THIS IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURER DEFAULT. THEY CLAIM THAT THERE IS NO WAY FOR THEM TO VERIFY THAT IT WASN'T CAUSED BY AN OBJECT HITTING IT. I'M HOPING MORE PEOPLE REPORT THIS ISSUE SO THE SUNROOF CAN BE RECALLED BECAUSE NOT ONLY IS THIS COMPLETE BS. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. IF THE SUNROOF SHADE WASN'T CLOSED, I WOULD HAVE HAD CLASS SHARDS ALL OVER THE CAR AND MYSELF THAT COULD HAVE LANDED IN MY EYE AND CAUSED INJURY OR EVEN WORSE AND ACCIDENT.

The fuel delivery system, specifically the fuel pump, has malfunctioned. This vehicle is subject to a fuel pump safety recall, which was reportedly repaired in 2022; however, the vehicle continues to experience the same failure symptoms and is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle has stalled multiple times at highway speeds, resulting in sudden loss of power while driving and creating an immediate risk of collision with surrounding traffic. My family was in the vehicle during these incidents, significantly increasing the risk of serious injury or death. The problem has been reproduced multiple times, including after the vehicle was taken to an authorized Acura dealership. During the most recent visit, diagnostic trouble codes were cleared, but the recalled fuel pump was not repaired or replaced. After being released by the dealership, the vehicle stalled again under similar driving conditions. The vehicle was inspected by the dealership, but no corrective repair was performed beyond clearing codes. The manufacturer has not yet properly remedied the recurring safety defect. Prior to stalling, the vehicle exhibited intermittent hesitation, loss of power, and engine shutdown. Warning indicators and fault codes were present at times and were cleared by the dealership without resolving the underlying issue. These symptoms have continued intermittently since the recall repair. This appears to be a failure to properly diagnose and correct a known safety defect, resulting in repeated dangerous highway stalls and placing occupants at serious risk.

Oil pump seal leaking, was leaking prior to rod bearing recall repair, Acura didn't recommend nor replace during recall, engine is smoking, also at night, lane keep assist repeatly steers towards passing vehicle headlights almost causing head-on collision, extremely scary, this is ridiculous and I'm stuck with vehicle being I'm upside down on loan, Absolutely a nightmare!!!! Contacted dealership that completed recall and was given run around so I called acura and they spoke with dealer, dealer waived diagnostic fee, but are charging for parts n services which I can't afford. And, I no longer trust them under my hood so unsure of what to do!!! This is my hard earned money at work!!!

Car was parked with Emergency Brake Parking on. Returned a few minutes later and couldn’t move the car. Mulitple errors popped on the dash board and the Navi screen. Reset the EBP and even disconnected the battery to try and rest it but nothing happened. Although still starts, my car won’t still move and I had to get it towed to the repair shop.

I recently got my rotors replaced and the car stutter while braking. Also, this happened before I replaced rotors.. the transmission is slow and won't shift to merge highways. I don't know if its the transmission or the brake lines.. I guess it's the transmission trying to drop gears for engine braking and it starts stuttering.

While driving approx 65 mph on a freeway the vehicle placed itself into neutral and decelerrated as multiple warnings flashed across dashboard. . . “Emissions System Problem”, “Transmission System Problem”, “Electric Parking Brake Problem”. I was able to pull off to the side of an exit ramp but once I put the car in PARK I could not shift into Drive. I could not safely drive/manuever my vehicle to a safer area putting myself and child at risk of being hit. I turned the car on/off multiple times to attempt to shift into Drive, but to no avail. I called the nearest Acura dealer which was in the next town over from where I was stranded. After many failed attempts I was able to put the car in Drive and move my vehicle to the closest road and off to the side but with the warnings still flashing. The last successful attempt I was able to put the car in Drive again and without any further warnings flashing on dashboard. Drove 20 minutes to the nearest Acura Dealer and was charged $300 for the diagnosis and update of 3 systems. Informed DTC Code P0657, actuator supply voltage circuit/open, was found prior to system updates: Transmission Control Module Update, PGM-FI Update, and ABS System Update.

First item: vehicle keeps shutting off during idle while parked or while brake is depressed. It has happened multiple times. I've done some research and see there are several sites indicating issues with the fuel pump and vehicle stalling. Acura says there are no current recalls. I'm not the only person this is happening to. Second issue: vehicle has gone into neutral on its own while driving. At first I thought maybe I hit the neutral button by mistake and didn't think of anything but then the most recent was coming out if a gas station and pulled up to a stop sign and it went into neutral. I just bought this car on June 1st.

The contact had initially taken the vehicle to an unknown dealer in West Virginia which has since closed, and a software update was performed; however, the failure persisted. As the failure became more frequent, the contact drove the vehicle to another dealer where the mechanic was unable to diagnose the failure. I TURNED OFF THE CAR THEN TURNED IT BACK ON, AND PROBLEM WAS GONE ACCELERATION CAME BACK. I MERGE INTO MY LANE AGAIN AND NOT EVEN 100 FT WHEN MY DASH LIGHTS CAME ON, LIKE A CHRISTMAS TREE. EVERY LIGHT IN MY DASH WAS LIT. THE FOLLOWING ARE SOME OF THE LIGHTS THAT WERE ON. I DROVE THE CAR HOME AT 55 MPH SINCE THATS AS FAST AS IT WILL LET ME DRIVE IT. I STOPPED AT A AUTOZONE TO SCAN THE OBD COMPUTER AND JUST A MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 2 CODE CAME UP WHICH IS STRANGE THAT A MISFIRE WOULD CAUSE THIS PROBLEM. NO OTHER CODES CAME OUT. NOTE: CAR HAD NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON BEFORE THIS IN 179,000 MILES WE HAVE OWNED IT. WENT HOME DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY THEN HOOK IT BACK ON. PROBLEM WENT AWAY. IT HASNOT HAPPENED IN 12 HRS. THE ISSUE IS I DONT TRUST THE CAR ANYMORE. IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IN THE FREEWAY 10 AT 80 MPH WITH TRAFFIC, I WOULD HAVE CAUSE A DEADLY CRASH. THEN I LOOKED ON YOU TUBE AND THERE IS PRACTICALLY DOZENS OF ACURA OWNERS WITH IDENTICAL ISSUES, SOME OF THEM AVOIDED CRASHES BECAUSE OF LOSS OF POWER. CAR WON'T CRANK AND WON'T START. ENDED UP STRANDED NUMEROUS TIMES WITHIN THE LAST 2 MONTHS WHILE OUT SHOPPING. EACH TIME STRANDED, THE CAR WOULD START AFTER BEING JUMPED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE EACH TIME. AFTER THE FIRST ACCOUNT OF BEING STRANDED AND JUMPED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE, I IMMEDIATELY DROVE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT MY CAR BATTERY WAS TESTING "VERY GOOD" AND THEY SAID MY BATTERY WOULD RECHARGE ITSELF AND THAT THE DRAINAGE COULD BE DUE TO THE HOT TEXAS WEATHER. NOT SO MUCH THE CASE AS I ENDED UP STRANDED TWO DAYS AFTER THAT, ONCE AGAIN. SO, I HAD TO CALL ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TRIED USING "THEIR" PORTABLE CAR CHARGER BUT FAILED TO WORK. SO THE REP PULLED OUT HIS JUMPER CABLES AND WAS ABLE TO JUMP MY CAR AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES. AT THAT POINT, I WENT BACK TO AUTOZONE AND DECIDED TO PURCHASE A NEW CAR BATTERY EVEN THOUGH MY EXISTING BATTERY TESTED "VERY GOOD" ONCE AGAIN. POWERTRAIN: IN 19 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP, MY 2015 ACURA TLX'S TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED TWICE. THE FIRST TIME IT FAILED (10 MONTHS), IT WOULD NOT ENTER INTO REVERSE, DRIVE OR NEUTRAL UPON STARTING. IT TOOK SPECIAL TOWING TOO. THE SECOND TIME IT FAILED (19 MONTHS, 22K MILES), I WAS DRIVING IN RURAL TEXAS AT 70 MPH AND THE TRANSMISSION SWITCHED INTO NEUTRAL, WARNING LIGHTS EXPLODED AND I HAD TO SAFELY WORK MY WAY TO AN EXIT RAMP AND ONTO THE FRONTAGE ROAD. I THEN HAD TO WAIT FOR 2.5 HOURS FOR A TOW TRUCK WHICH THEN RESULTED IN A 2 HOUR RIDE IN A TOW TRUCK TO BRING IT TO THE DEALER. SUSPENSION: WITHIN A WEEK OR TWO OF BUYING THE ACURA TLX, THE CAR BEGAN TO DEVELOP A VIBRATION THAT I COULD FEEL THROUGH THE ACCELERATOR AND STEERING WHEEL. I TOOK IN MY ACURA TWO WEEKS AGO TO SHERMAN OAKS CENTER ACURA, WHERE I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED THE VAHICLE AND EXPLAINED EVERYTHING THAT I WAS EXPERIENCING; E.I. JERKS, SUDDEN REVS, DELAYED UPSHIFT/DOWNSHIFT. THE REPAIR CENTER PERSONNEL ADVISED ME THAT THE VEHICLE JUST NEEDED A "SIMPLE SOFTWARE UPDATE" AND THAT NOT TO BE ALARMED BECAUSE ACURA WILL HAVE FUTURE UPDATES. SO WHEN I WENT TO PICK UP MY CAR I NOTICED THAT THE CAR FELT AS THOUGH I WAS DRIVING MY GIRLFRIEND'S 10 YEAR OLD COROLLA. THE CAR IS A F*** PIECE OF S*** I TELL YOU! IT LAGS MORE AND HE VIBRATES TOO MUCH! THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD!

PURCHASED A BRAND NEW VEHICLE IN SEPTEMBER'15 AND SINCE DAY ONE I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING VIBRATIONS DURING HIGHWAY COMMUTE. THE CAR HAS BEEN SERVICED 5 TIMES SO FAR THE VIBRATION HAS ACTUALLY BEEN MADE FAR WORSE THEN WHAT THEY USED TO BE. THE SEATS, THE SEAT BUCKLE, EVEN MY CHILD CAR SEAT VIBRATES/SHAKES WHEN DRIVING. THE VIBRATION CAN BE FELT ALL OVER THE BODY WHEN DRIVING. THE VIBRATION IS SOO BAD NOW, THAT THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE ON A HIGHWAY.

AFTER A MINOR FENDER BENDER, THE VEHICLE BECAME COMPLETELY DISABLED AND BLOCKED FOUR (4) LANES OF TRAFFIC FOR ALMOST FOUR (4) HOURS. THE DRIVER-SIDE KNEE AIRBAG DEPLOYED AND SEVERAL SENSORS/RELAYS BECAME INOPERABLE AND THE CAR REPORTED A BRAKING SYSTEM FAILURE THAT RENDERED THE CAR IMMOBILE. THE TIRES LOCKED UP AND THE VEHICLE SUBSEQUENTLY HAD TO BE DRAGGED ONTO A FLATBED TOW TRUCK. ADDITIONALLY, THE ACURALINK SERVICE DID NOT CONTACT ME UNTIL 90+ MINUTES LATER AND THE ASSIST/SOS BUTTON FELL OFF OF THE CAR BEFORE I COULD ENGAGE IT. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE FRONT END OF MY CAR WAS SIDESWIPED. MY VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY BECAME IMMOBILIZED WITH THE BRAKES FULLY ENGAGED ON ALL FOUR (4) TIRES. THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED ON A FOUR (4) LANE CITY STREET. MY CAR CAME TO REST IN A PARALLEL POSITION BLOCKING ALL FOUR (4) LANES.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 ACURA TLX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM (CMBS) FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SEAT BELT PRETENSION WHICH WAS A FEATURE OF THE COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM FAILED TO ENGAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THE SYSTEM WAS FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM WITH PEDESTRIAN DETECTION FUNCTIONED AS DESIGNED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 ACURA TLX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED INDEPENDENT ACCELERATION, DECELERATION, JERKING, AND ABNORMAL NOISES. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A SOFTWARE UPDATE AND TORQUE CONVERTER REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200.

WHEN DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATES. I FIRST NOTICED PROBLEM WHEN COASTING DOWNHILL, BUT NOW OCCURS ON LEVEL HIGHWAY ALSO. ALSO THERE ARE PERIODS WHEN ONE TRIES TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP OR FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE THAT THE TRANSMISSION HESITATES BEFORE SHIFTING INTO GEAR. AT THAT POINT THE ENGINE HAS REVVED UP CAUSING THE CAR TO LURCH FORWARD WHEN THE GEAR DOES ENGAGE. ADDITIONALLY EVEN AFTER A RECALL, THE PARKING GEAR SLIPS ALLOWING THE CAR TO ROLL DOWN HILL. VIBRATION AS A STANDARD FEATURE - NO ONE TOLD ME, IT IS NOT ADVERTISED ON THE INTERNET OR IN THE SPEC OF THE CAR AND IT IS NOT IN THE MANUAL. I DID NOT AGREE TO PURCHASE A VIBRATING/POOR SHIFTING CAR, I AGREED ON A REGULAR RIDING CAR THAT SHIFTS SMOOTHLY. (NOT ONE WITH UNCONTROLLABLE VIBRATION). TEST DROVE CAR UP TO 55MPH. PURCHASED CAR 5/28/15. CAR WAS READY TO PICK UP 6-2-15. BACKGROUND- TEST DROVE WITH 3 MILES ON THE CAR. RECEIVED FROM DEALER UP HAD 20 MILES ON. 6/2 - 8PM GO TO DEALER TO RECEIVE CAR. DEALER FORGOT TO TRANSFER MY PLATES. DEALER (MY SALESMAN AND ANOTHER SALESMAN) TOLD ME TO LEAVE WITHOUT TEMP PLATES, THAT IT IS ACCEPTABLE IN ILLINOIS (UNTIL THE POLICE TOLD ME IT WAS ILLEGAL). 6/2 9:43 PM GOT ON THE EXPRESSWAY = EXPERIENCE UNCONTROLLABLE VIBRATION AT 60MPH. CALL DEALER IMMEDIATELY AT 9:45PM ON 6/2, TELL THEM I WILL BRING BACK THE CAR IN THE AM. 6/3 '11:30AM- BRING CAR BACK, DEALER ALIGNS + BALANCES. 3PM- PICK UP CAR. CAR STILL VIBRATES. 6/4 ' 2:00PM ' I BRING CAR BACK TO ACURA FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 48 HOURS. DEALER STATES THEY WILL TAKE THE CAR TO LEXUS, AS LEXUS HAS EQUIPMENT THAT ACURA DOES NOT HAVE. ACURA WILL KEEP THE CAR OVERNIGHT. DEALER TAKES TO LEXUS ON 6/5 TO USE THEIR EQUIPMENT TO BALANCE. 6/5 ' PICK UP CAR + STILL SAME ISSUE. DEALER STATES YOU HAVE TO DRIVE 55MPH OR 80MPH FOR NO VIBRATION. THIS IS THE WAY THE CAR IS BUILT AND THAT IS IT. 6/5 - 5:09PM, I WAS SUPPOSED TO PICK UP THE CAR TODAY.
